Note — Seven years ago we all went through the flames; and the happiness of some of us since then is, we think, well worth the pain endured. It is an added joy to Mina and to me that our boy's birthday is the same day as that on which Quincey Morris died. His mother holds, I know, the secret belief that some of her brave friend's spirit has passed into him. His bundle of names links all our little band of men together; but we call him Quincey. In the summer of this year we made a journey to Transylvania, and went over some of the old ground which was, and is, to us so full of vivid and terrible memories. It was almost impossible to believe that the things which we had seen with our own eyes and heard with our own ears were living truths. Every trace of all that had been was blotted out. The castle stood as before, reared high above a waste of desolation.

When we got home we were talking of the old time—which we could all look back on without despair, for Godalming and Seward are both happily married. I took the papers from the safe where they had been ever since our return so long ago. We were struck with the fact, that in all the mass of material of which the record is composed, there is hardly one authentic document; nothing but a mass of typewriting, except the latter note-books of Mina and Seward and myself, and Van Helsing's memorandum. We could hardly ask any one, even did we wish to, to accept these as proofs of so wild a story. Van Helsing summed it all up as he said, with our boy on his knee: We want no proofs; we ask none to believe us! This boy will some day know what a brave and gallant woman his mother is. Already he knows her sweetness and loving care; later on he will understand how some men so loved her, that they did dare much for her sake.

the Gods' conversation in the first episode of Downfall, about how they need to destroy Aeor in its entirety to prevent mortal knowledege of how to destroy them from spreading, is so dark. both from the perspective of watching a handful of people weigh the lives of thousands, but also because they do end up destroying Aeor; and it doesn't work. it prolongs things for another millenia, sure, but someone eventually discovers enough of the Factorum Malleus' plans for Ludinus to construct his own version and make his own plan, something he's motivated to do specifically by the original destruction of Aeor. not only does the Gods obliterating one of the last civilzations still standing in the Calamity (and all their children within) not bury the knowledge of this anti-god weapon, it becomes the very reason someone wants to try again.

I know napoleons voice some find it irritating and pretty annoying when laughing, but then i saw people saying his voice is weak and kind alike shy. For him im thinking of Vangogh from clone high, and principle scudworth when hes older.

My opinion again. Between SS and NH which one i choose? NH of course. I answer this with basic knowledege of NH (im not shipper, so i don’t watch all their moments). And the reason is:

1. Hinata didn’t force herself on Naruto (we never see Hinata confess to Naruto multiple times, in the last movie hinata said she’s Happy for Naruto she’s Happy for him)

2. she’s timid person, but she try to care for Naruto as friend. Ex: giving Naruto salve after chunin exam, give Naruto answer to copy in exam too

3. Her bravery for protect Naruto from pein, pein was powerful with rinnegan but Hinata sacrificing herself to fight pein alone.

4. She give encouragement for naruto when he devastate after neji death (idk why people overlook her talking about Naruto hand instead of her encouragement)

5. Love do not blind her (Hinata sacrifice herself to marrying toneri for her sister sake)

And most important reason why NH was better than SS in every aspect was Naruto never reject Hinata directly, he fight for Hinata in chuunin exam, he came to help hinata in the movie. And that’s healthy relationship.

“But Naruto using clone for his daughter birthday” “etc etc”. And y all also forget Naruto raise his childs together with his wife for years until he became hokage. And naruto using clone was his effort as father for his daughter. (And this was the reason i choose naruhina over Sasusaku) and for me naruhina was lack of growth (it would be better id kishi write Naruto moving on from sakura and his pov about hinata as romantic interes in canon imo)

If we compare it to SS, another reason why I hate it was it was ONESIDED. Sasuke canonically state he have no reason to love sakura (i agree with this, aside from being teammate she didn’t do anything for him.) She’s not understanding sasuke reason to leave konoha (she can be sad, but she choose herself as reason kinda selfish), she’s not his family (she just was one of his fangirl), also not his friend. For sure sasuke care for her, but as teammate, he’s not cruel or cold hearted person. But ss shipper read OG Naruto panel to find proof sasuke love her in his genin days.

August 11th 

Mina Murray’s Journal 

Diary again. No rest so I might as well write. I was agitated to sleep. We had such an adventure that day that I fear I fell asleep as soon as I set my diary aside. Suddenly, I was well awake and alarmingly alert. I felt an emptiness in Lucy and mine’s shared bed. The room was dark so I struck a small match to better see in the dark. I had a lingering sense of forbidding, for Lucy, of course. In any case, the bed was empty and Lucy wasn’t present so I naturally went looking for her. The door was not locked nor even shut but left ajar and wide open. I found Lucy’s day dresses and dressing gowns in their usual place, “Thank God,” I said to myself for Lucy could not have gone far if only in her night dress. I ran downstairs in haste, though such haste was warranted. I checked the city room – nothing. I checked the other rooms in the house – also nothing. Finally, I checked the hall and found the door not wide open. The lock was caught in the key and the door was left ajar. I feared for Lucy that she might catch a cold. There was little time to think rationally about anything. The clock was striking and thankfully no one was out, so I went out to search for Lucy. I ran along the house’s North Terrace and found a pale figure (Lucy) sitting in the moonlight in our favourite seat, and… whether man or beast, I couldn’t tell what manner of man it was a dark figure seemed to loom over her – behind the seat. The town was ghostly quiet and well… asleep. Finally, when I could distinguish the young pale figure in the seat I realized it was Lucy. So, I called for her, “Lucy! Lucy!” 

I ran down hastily to the seat as quickly as I could manage, I could hear my own heart beating in my chest with anxiety and hear my breath grow laboured. When I bent over her I found Lucy still asleep in the churchyard seat. As I came close she put up a hand defensively as though she feared some kind of attack, she also pulled the collar of her night dress closer to her pale neck. When I finally got her wrapped up and placed my shoes on her feet she placed another hand to her throat and moaned softly. 

At first, Lucy did not respond, for which I do not blame her. Gradually she awakened and became more uneasy. So I wrapped her tighter and clipped her night dress as warm as possible, but in my anxiousness, I must’ve pricked her on accident for she shuddered inwardly and gasped for breath. She did not seem surprised by my presence but it took some time for Lucy to get her bearings on just where she was, all in all, she seemed exhausted and disoriented. Despite all this she kept her beauty, she always wakes very pretty, like that painting by John William Waterhouse of The Lady of Shalott. Lucy trembled from the cold and clung to me. Still pretty despite her understandable fears and being caught in such a seemingly ghastly mishap. Later, I dabbed my feet with mud to not be seen lacking shoes, for I lent Lucy mine. Fortune was kind to us and we met no one along the way save for one drunk whom we hid from in a crevice in town or “Wynds” as they call them in Scotland. In any case, no Jack the Ripper or other such scoundrels. 

My heart beat so loud I irrationally thought I’d wake the town of Whitby. I pray sincerely I did the ring thing. I have locked the door and we shall not again be disturbed. Lucy is blissfully… sound asleep and dawn is a ways off over the sea. 

Noon: August 11th  

All is well, Lucy slept soundly and didn’t change the side she slept on. Lucy slept til I woke her up. She is unharmed thankfully and rather than damage her it seems to have improved her condition, she looks as well as she has ever been. I was sorry for my clumsiness however… for I noticed two marks like pinpricks on her neck and a small drop of blood on her nightdress. So I apologized, she lovingly laughed at me and petted me gently. She said she did not even feel or notice it, thankfully the marks are so small no one else will notice them either. 

Night: August 11th  

Our day was most happy. The fresh seaside air was clean, the sun shone brightly over Whitby. We made a picnic and took our lunch to Mulgrave Woods, Lucy’s mother, Mrs. Westenra, drove us and she drove by to check up on us at least twice. Lucy and I walked by the cliff paths and the ocean, I also joined her at the Gate a little outside Whitby. I was a bit sad myself… if only Jonathan were with us… but I must be patient. In the evening, we strolled by the pier and Casino Terrace and heard some excellent music from Spohr and Mackenzie, and then we went to bed early. Lucy seemed better than ever and she went to bed as soon as the sunset over the sea. I merely worry for Lucy and her reputation, it is only due to her mother’s poor health I do not inform the woman immediately. If word were to get out, that is all. I know Arthur Holmwood would understand, he is a gentleman of the highest calibre and though a well-to-do dandy he is no black, he would understand. I shall do my due diligence, lock the door and keep the key on my wrist. I do not expect any trouble tonight.

oooh thats a good question :D

ngl im far to shy irl to debate (and too argument avoidant lol) and not the best at articulation (nor the most knowledegable) BUT i do love to yap about lots of things;

this term (late feb) well be taking an ethics course abt a lot of things that are debated both universally and in medicine, so i look forward to that :3

my interests lol (though idk if it fits the debate category bc its a one sided infodump lkjhdfio) like the islamic golden age my beloved and different character interpretations (like in the mythos)

ig i gravitate to topics that tie into academia; like education centric prompts are always thought provoking and intriguing to me (both as a seeker of knowledge and my parents being lecturers its always been a point of interest for me)

looked up a few categories and society/ social issues caught my eye as well, kinda bc i have insight on a few lol i think i could come up with okay arguments and defenses? mayhaps

if i had to choose maybe id talk abt religion (esp islam) in a sort of debunking & raise awareness way, its deeply rich and diverse yet ignored history and contributions to knowledge, but also multifaith intersectionality? how cultures influence faith? i pains me to see how in this day and age ignorance and bigotry still reign supreme, i think id like to contribute in the little ways i can.

also faith (and lack thereof) is a personal choice above all and no one has the right to strip u of ur freedoms or force their ideas and beliefs onto you. that faiths are in some way connected by similar messages, and that as long as critical thinking and media literacy exists and is exercised humanity can indeed flourish once again. idk tho
