Hey Tumblr! Let's play a game!

I hc certain characters to speak certain languages based on their country/movie of origin! So here's the game we're going to play!

I'm going to put one character's voice line into a translator (because I barely speak english) and you're going to guess who the character is! Characters won't repeat, but languages will! Are you ready?

Please note some of them will be done in Google translate because my good translator doesn't have as many languages as I'd like

This game is so much fun!?!? My weird specialty of being able to guess languages really was useful in this.

The first one I got in 2 tries, second I got on the 1st try and the last one I couldn't get and learned about a new language I had never heard of. I can not contain my excitement for this :D

"You shouldn't call video game genres [thing]likes because" buddy, it's a natural transitional state. Lots of video game genres started out being named after their most notable entry or entries. FPSes used to be called "Doom clones" before evolving their own terminology. Some genres never do, and people just forget about the original game and keep the name. How many roguelike fans are familiar with Rogue? How many adventure game fans even know the genre is named after a game called Adventure?

Miles: -completely unnecessary. Doing a Steel Samurai reboot so soon after the series ended is a foolish decision, everyone will be directly comparing the two from the moment the first episode drops. I don't believe they even have a fresh direction for the show, the only difference will be the cgi. God forbid we rock the boat and follow a new character! It's abundantly clear to me that the studio executives are cowards.

The funny thing about Dr. Robotnik being called Dr. Robotnik in the English localisation is that "Robotnik" is a real surname, but the localisers apparently had no idea – they just took the English word "robot" and stuck a vaguely Russian-sounding suffix on it because it was the Cold War and "vaguely Russian" was shorthand for "evil" in American popular culture. Dudes tried to lazily come up with a name that evokes "evil robot guy" and accidentally made him Polish.
