Olympus Tournament: Round Two, Batch Three.

"Hi everyone! I'm Amelia Rowan and I'll be doing the recaps for the final fights of round two! Oh right, I'm from Apricus City. I currently work for the PWSB. I was asked to be their commentary presentative as I'm not competing in the tournament itself. You'll have to cut me a little slack since I've never done this sort of thing before but I'll try my best!"

Match One:

Iris Adler Lapis Hamelin Zeus

Vs.

Typhon Jacqueline Edana Grandpa Mashiro

"Well this one started off a little one sided as Zeus began arguing with his two teammates. Upon seeing the rather imposing other team Zeus promptly decided to give an obscene gesture to Lapis, and Iris before jumping out of the ring and leaving them to fight a two on three battle. What a jerk."

"Mashiro took a moment to stop his teammates and from what we can tell, requested that one of the three leave the fight as well. He wished for an honorable battle it seems. Edana shook his hand and made her exit, leaving us with two against two."

"Mashiro immediately engages with Lapis. The older man throwing heavy strikes but Lapis defending as well as he's ever done. Mashiro seems to be thrilled that he's found another opponent that he can barely budge. In fact Lapis actually counter-attacks and forces Mashiro back!"

"Meanwhile Iris seems to be at a disadvantage against the stronger, and more experienced Typhon. Typhon is smiling as he uses his rather impressive quickness to avoid Adler's shots. Iris to her credit avoids any of the big man's attacks, even making him crash into a few walls which seems to give her an idea."

"Mashiro and Lapis continue to clash with Lapis using..whatever that weapon is. Mashiro takes a few good shots, Lapis lands an uppercut that takes Mashiro off his feet. Mashiro flips up and goes for a throw of sorts but Lapis blocks it and holds his ground. Lapis seems to be shifting his position and making Mashiro move where he wants him."

"Adler suddenly leaps down behind Mashiro and fires off a few shots in another direction. She shoots the ground, creating something of a dust cloud. Typhon rushes to attack her but she dives out of the way. Typhon crashes into Mashiro by accident just as Lapis spins off to the side."

"Mashiro and Typhon both get up, both a little dizzy after the collision. Mashiro pushes Typhon out of the way as Iris and Lapis land some strong team attacks. Mashiro though grabs hold of Lapis and tosses him over to Typhon. Typhon catches Lapis and slams him into the ground before leaping up and attempting to come crashing down on Lapis."

"Lapis just barely avoids it and gets to his feet. Mashiro defends against Adler's ranged attacks but is eventually able to push through the damage, getting close enough to knock her weapon away. Lapis rushes over and kicks Mashiro in the back of the head making him stumble forward. Iris lands a strike to his chin which takes him down for a moment."

"Typhon makes his way over and is now dodging both Lapis and Adler's attacks with ease. We saw this before, it seems he learns quickly as he fights. Typhon slams his fist into Lapis' weapon which causes it to crack. Typhon goes for another hit but Lapis leaps up and kicks the big man, driving him back."

"Lapis attacks Typhon but he dodges and lands a headbutt which knocks Lapis down. Iris goes to attack but she's suddenly grabbed by Mashiro who throws her into Typhon. Typhon lands a massive lariat which knocks Iris down and out."

"Lapis is up and braces himself as he's attacked by both opponents. It's been said before but his defense is insane. He's able to tank hits from both these powerhouses. This can't last forever though as Typhon grabs Lapis and throws him to Mashiro who catches him and spins around to gain momentum, tossing Lapis out of bounds."

Winners: Typhon, Jacqueline Edana, Grandpa Mashiro

Match Two:

Kei Kawakami Roland Marigold Castor Lucan

Vs.

Hideyoshi Phalanx Lily White Kelly Maza

"Here we go with the last fight of round two! We've already got a few arguments going on as all three members of Kei's team don't seem to get along that well. Guess that happens when you have Navy, PWSB, and a Templar together."

"Everyone seems to agree to go their own way..so much for teamwork. Phalanx squares off with Lucan, thinking he might want revenge due to the fact he couldn't beat another templar in his previous fight. The two start to exchange blows, Phalanx having superior defense but Lucan has speed and a variety of weapons on his side."

"We've got Maza and Marigold fighting it out. I don't know who to cheer for because both of them are with me in the PWSB! Go Maza, go Marigold! Ahem, excuse me. Anyway both are showing off some fantastic strength and speed. Maza's hammer clashing against Marigold's axe as sparks fly!"

"Lily and Kei have been fighting as well. As great a fighter as she seems to be, I think Lily is outclassed by Kawakami here. To her credit she's managed to avoid getting thrown out or knocked down. Kei has whiffed on a few attacks as Lily proves she's got the skills to pay the bills! Why did I say that.."

"Back to Lucan and Phalanx who have been fighting all over the arena. These two have crashed through walls, sliced a tree in half, and caused who knows what kind of damage to..everything! The crowd is eating it up. Lucan is getting the upper hand but Phalanx has gotten angry at the prospect of getting knocked out by another Templar and is now throwing some incredibly power attacks out!"

"Maza and Marigold are battling perilously close to the edge of the arena. Wow these really are just one on one fights huh? First round where everyone just sorta split off and never went back. In any case Marigold slams his axe down but Kelly dodges, spins around and slams her hammer into Marigold. He almost stumbled out of bounds but grabbed hold of Kelly's arm. Kelly had enough sense to hold her ground, not wanting to be pulled out with him."

"Lily has managed to dodge Kei's strikes and actually inflicted some damage. Kei barely stops himself from falling out of bounds. He takes a moment to give a slight bow in Lily's direction, acknowledging her skills. However he readies himself and changes stances, holding his blades up. Lily tries to confuse him by rushing around and striking from different directions but Kei manages to block every attack. Kei eventually predicts her movement and rushes forward, blades striking quick as lightning! I barely even saw that! Lily's weapon is knocked away as she falls to the ground knocked out.."

"Maza and Marigold have both discarded their weapons and are fighting it out fist against fist! Those are some nasty hits but both of them are loving every second of it. Kelly lands a shot to the gut and another to the jaw. Marigold recovers and lands several hits to Kelly's gut, he lands a strong kick to Kelly's leg making her go down to one knee. Just as he's about to finish her off she springs up and slams her head into Marigold's chest, driving the wind out of him. Both are barely able to breathe at this point. Both however shrug it off, Maza does what she believes is the only option and rushes forward, grabbing her weapon and throwing it at Marigold. He manages to knock it away but it leaves him open and Kelly tackles him out of bounds!"

"Lucan and Phalanx are still going at it! Lucan has baited Phalanx into some reckless attacks and seems to be taking advantage of Phalanx's anger. Phalanx however has started to see through Lucan's strategy and the fact Phalanx is a slightly better close combat fighter. Phalanx closes distance to take away Lucan's ranged advantage and acts as if he's rushing in with blind rage. Lucan positions himself to try and make Phalanx crash into a wall. Phalanx switches his weapon type mid rush, slides between Lucan's legs and ends up behind him. Lucan quickly turns but Phalanx slams his shield into Lucan and uses it to life him up, flipping him out of bounds. Lucan lands on his feet but it doesn't matter."

"We're down to one on one as Kei approaches Phalanx. Both are winded and low on energy at this point but they are giving it all they have. Phalanx has trouble defending against Kei's speed but Kei is having trouble getting past Phalanx's impressive defense. Both are nearing the edge of the arena and the crowd are on their feet! Phalanx attempts the same trick he used on Lucan but Kei sees it coming and flips to the side when Phalanx tries to slam his shield into him. Kei rushes forward with blinding speed and lands several hits that take Phalanx down."

"Phalanx though slowly gets back to his feet and beckons for Kei to attack him again. Kei sheaths his blade and switches stances. He draws the blade and lands a strike that I don't know if anyone could see! Phalanx drops his weapon and slumps to the ground. Kei thinks it's over but Phalanx once again slowly gets back to his feet. He will not stay down!"

"Kei once more acknowledges his opponent with a show of respect. He goes for another strike but Phalanx somehow manages to adjust just enough to dodge the strike and grab hold of Kei's arm, not letting him pull his blade back. Phalanx headbutts Kei over and over again until Kei falls to the ground. Kei though rises back up. Phalanx throws Kei's sword to the side and the two men just start pummeling each other!"

"Blow after blow, both men are on jelly legs! They both wind up and land an earth shattering punch to each other's head. Both slump to the ground knocked out. We've got a draw!"

Winners: Draw

"Talk about some amazing fights to wrap up round two! I hope everyone watching has enjoyed the tournament so far! Make sure you join us in a few days for the Leader's Choice Battle Royale, and the Council Clash!"

Lapis stared at his weapon carefully, looking at the old and battered pieces that made up the half-cobbled Partner in Crime. He needed a new name for it, really, but he wasn’t too creative when it came to these sorts of things. It was cobbled together with spare parts- he knew it was a bad setup, but it was what his village gave him and trusted him with. That wasn’t going to make putting it back together after cleaning it anything but a lengthy chore but he had to start somewhere.

“Oh, I don’t care about appreciation. I just need the paycheck. Can’t live without money. But I see what you mean. I’ve worked a lot of thankless jobs. What’s one more?” If she succeeded, though, this would be the first thankless job that didn’t involve swinging a weapon around in active combat. “Thanks. I mean it. My livelihood sorta depends on it, after all.” 

“It’s just a word. Save the thanks for the interview. What kind of skills do you have? I can let Lily know and she’ll know who to contact from there.”

“I was going to get Belladonna something now that we’ve met back up with her and it turns out she cut her hair. So... these ribbons and brush aren’t going to be that useful.”

“Give it to her anyway. Just trust me.”

“But it’s useless now.”

"Dear Mr. Hamelin. We're aware that it was your request to a friend that gave us some interesting publicity at the ball. We're sorry you couldn't attend. Please accept these certificates entitling you and several friends a year's worth of food at Tacos N' More. From your friends at Ciar Industries"

Lapis stares at the certificates. Technically it was several-hundred “Free Taco or More™ from Tacos N’ More™” coupons in a thick book on sheer paper. He felt like he was going to break it just by squeezing it too hard. How the hell they could even afford this sort of things and not run themselves into the ground was beyond him, but chalked it up to another failing business that Ciar Industries absorbed into its massive black hole of capitalism.

“Alright, people, I need to get rid of these! Who wants free tacos?”

“Alright everybody, it’s almost midnight! Everyone get your drinks ready and the most important part, the midnight kiss!”

“Won’t we need people here who aren’t us? I mean, I’d hope so.”

“I have a feeling Goodfellow’s got a plan for it.”

Onyx shrugs and takes a drink. It didn’t matter to him so long as things didn’t get out of control.”

Midnight kisses for muses are being accepted when the clock strikes twelve!

Lapis peers into the screen, getting his face closer from his sister’s view. “Wait... You’re from the northern villages, aren’t you?”

“Lapis, back up. We can only see your eyes and nose right now.”

“Alright, everybody! I got our room assignments!”

“So it looks like almost all of us are in the same room. Except for Onyx and Violet.”

“I haven’t been to a beach in forever. I can see why you like them so much, Ivory. I mean, how’d you secure a party to a private resort?”

“Aren’t your friends here, too?”

“Yeah, apparently VNLA showed up, too. So there’ll be people we know. But let’s check in first.”

Lapis plants on the ground to steady himself. Shoving away form Marigold, he spins back around to reveal several long bony spikes sticking out of his back, mostly having caught on his coat and the back of his armor. He was standing, but he likely wasn’t going to be able to take too many more hits like that. He stared back at the large Grimm that had shot the protrusions at him. “Come on... that all you got?”

“I’m here.” Lapis comes out of the small bedroom with an empty basket he sets aside. “Sorry, I was just doing a few last-minute things. Don’t worry about me, just go ahead and eat and relax. How was the mission?”
