guy who is being so normal about the new additions to their profiles. i think abt midoris initial infatuation with his art slowly developing into appreciating yuzuru himself as a person and idol to the point he worries about how he sees him (ex: a bit of home party and in workplace survival rules) sometimes thats a lie i think about it a lot. and yuzuru learning to enjoy art just for the sake of drawing!! seeing the lets try diy story where he doesnt even refute drawing on midoris desk and was only worried that his doodles might cover up the mascot design compared to how discouraged he usually would be in earlier ! stories. everything to me i adore their dynamic if that wasnt obvious by *gestures to basically everything*

I honestly love reading your analysis so much. Do you have a favorite fun fact about haikaveh? Like anything with their constellation or their past? My personal favorite is their voice actors had to redo their lines because it was too implied ❤️

Hiya! thank you for reading my brainrot posts, I’m so glad you enjoy them!! genuinely still reeling at that, haikaveh nation needs the scrapped og haikaveh voice lines, HOW was it so implied that they needed to be cut when the lines officially used are still so ???? i'm obsessed with those videos comparing alhaitham’s general exposition dialogue to when he first talks with/teases kaveh in the house of daena, the switch up is crazy, it actually makes me sick <3

I think my personal favourite facts are translation based?? I’m intrigued with the nuances the EN doesn’t cover that the original CN has! There’s a big contrast in alhaitham’s fourth character story where the EN states that kaveh is a ‘familiar face’ to alhaitham, whereas the CN states that alhaitham believes that he and kaveh know each other ‘through and through’. The intimacy here is much more poignant and I feel this aligns with what I’ve heard about the CN’s dub as well. Minimushiroom has an amazing compilation of translation facts that I love looking over <3

Joint with this is the interpretation that kaveh is paralleled with his mother, faranak, in relation to companionship. In this, it can be seen that kaveh’s relationship with alhaitham and the relationship between kaveh's parents are deliberately aligned. There are many indicators in kaveh’s hangout that he can be paralleled with his mother, with his mother’s old professor directly comparing them. Kaveh’s mother is described as having a sensitive soul, which is compared with kaveh's sensitivity. (it's also interesting to consider the CN translation of alhaitham's voice line about kaveh, were kaveh is described by alhaitham as having a ‘caring heart’.) Kaveh’s mother struggles similarly in being understood by others in her art, which is the core of kaveh’s hangout, and it’s revealed that her struggles evened out when meeting kaveh’s father.

Faranak shares that it’s companionship that should be valued over understanding, and a drawing of kaveh’s father with the paternal figures of kaveh’s current friends, directly paralleling the ending’s hangout picture, where kaveh and alhaitham sit in their fathers’ places, and where kaveh is turned towards alhaitham, rather than away. to me, this can be seen as positioning alhaitham as the most integral companion for kaveh, which parallels with the bond shared between kaveh's mother and father. alhaitham cannot understand kaveh's artistic struggles, but he can support him regardless - just as kaveh's father did for kaveh's mother. i have a post that digs deeper into this, and this is also further explored in the essay, but this interpretation is really interesting to me, since it highlights romantic connotations in the theme of ‘companionship’, not only platonic bonds. to me, it's one of the more prominent instances of queercoding for these two :')

the thing is that if you are good at learning you will be very good at getting dumb. this is an oxymoron, but it is true.

(when i was writing this post, i had to google "oxymoron" was to make sure i was using the right word. this is because i am usually dumb when i am on this webbed site, so even when i feel pretty smart i second guess myself because im here to be dumb.)

the other thing is, sometimes when you learn more you feel dumber. the reason for this is when you know a little about something, you odn't realize how much there is to really know about that thing. when you learn more, you see how much more to learn.

the final thing (if you want to get really genuinely manipulative about it) is there's something called a learning edge. this is the place in your brain where new information bumps up against your old worldview. you have to decide if you will accept the new information and change your worldview, or if you want to reject it and continue without change.

you know that you are at a learning edge when you feel discomfort with an idea. discomfort with an idea means that you have something to learn about that idea, and that something is important; that something may transform you forever.

(discomfort also tells you that you can reject the new idea. this is still a good thing! the point is that you reflected on and engaged with the new idea.)

but discomfort with an idea - maybe like the idea that you should & can learn to be dumb - can, if you let it, mean it's time to learn that idea.

AKA: literally click any ao3 username, "bookmarks" should appear towards the top of the resulting page. You can then voyage into the additionally wonderful waters of filtering by length, "recommended", fandom, etc.

Also: if the fic you like is in collections, try checking them out, especially if the title appeals to you. Can be a great way to find essentially a fic playlist.

I'm a bit nervous to post it, but as most of the people say: I'm cringe but I'm free! So, take this ref sheet of coalecroux fankid that I'm came up with! :]

Some small facts:

-His adopted

-Calls his parents like "purple dad" and "fire dad"

-When he was just born, he easily fitted in Gideon's one hand

-He really liked to bite Gideon(especially his fingers) and lay on Kermy's head when he was 3

-Firefly is 3ft tall

-He strongly refuse to wear shoes

-Calls Gricko, Frosty and Torbek as his uncles, calls Twig as his auntie and calls Hootsie as his big sis

-He really likes when someone carries him around

-He's halfdragon who was born from thing called "forbidden fruit"(I read about it on DnD.su)

-He's a halfdragon of lizardfolk and sapphire dragon

-His tail is a bit defected

-His favorite creatures are griffons(he likes them as much as Kremy likes unicorns)

Some kind of story how Gid and Kremy got him(I'm bad at making stories srry):

Basically, Gid and Kremy found his egg in the bushes near some lake deep in the forest when they wanted to make some "ironic" picnic date there. When they found his egg they waited some time to make sure if someone will comeback for him, but after 2 hours no one came they realized that the egg was abandoned and so Kremy's parent instincts started to kick in and they decided to take it. Something like that :d

Refreshed their design and reference sheet a tiny bit :] Still unsure about the pupils, but we'll see if I keep them. They're meant to be barely visible anyways so I can just not draw them if I don't feel like it

ID start: A reference sheet for a human version of The Hollow Knight/Pure Vessel from Hollow Knight. Most of their skin is pitch black save for their white face, which has freckles and a small mole under their left eye. Their skin turns black right under their bone cheeks, and combined with their horns makes their face resemble the shape of their mask in-game. Their white hair is long and kept in a high ponytail. Their long bangs almost completely cover the right side of their face. On the left side of the reference sheet there are some close-up of their body parts and text describing the following traits: They're digitigrade, with long elf ears, sharp claws, and teeth with two sets of fangs, three spurs on the back of their forearms, a short spiky tail and almost pitch black eyes with only a small dark blue pupil visible. They have no true tongue and use void tendrils as a substitute. When shined on, their pupils widen and get brighter. They're wearing a white shirt with frilly popped up collar and frilly puffy sleeves ending with cuffs, and the sleeves have buttons around the spikes on their arm to make it easier to put on. The shirt is embroidered with various light blue and red floral patterns on the shoulders and around the collar. They're wearing dark blue pants with a blue cloth belt tied to the lest side and black leather shoes modified for their digitigrade stance. Behind their left ear, they have a small white flower with a pink hand red centre and two small green leaves. On the left of them are labelled colour swatches, and above that are their pronouns, "They/them it/its". End ID.
