thanks! doing this idly has been teaching me a Lot about choreographing fight scenes in a comic, which hopefully i won't have to do something serious with any time soon haha. and what it's turned out for this AU is a bunch of people who are really desperate to never be hurt again get locked in an arms race to find a way to hurt other people that won't come around and get them eventually, which does justify the magic i think, but also it does push for the magic to also be completely brutal and the visual behavior of spirits and souls to be the same as, if not worse, than the regular body. tldr all the shit marik pulls in canon (especially the scarab hourglass) owns hard and i want in and also for it to be worse and more direct. i'm glad this has wider appeal than to just me lol. cheers!

Quick and dirty script for automated booping

This will only work on desktop browsers. Sorry mobile users, you will have to find some other way to automate your boops. May I suggest you try a macros app?

Navigate to your target in a new tab, it has to be the dashboard view of their blog to work. For instance, I am https://www.tumblr.com/alectoperdita

2. Open your browser's developer console. On Windows, the shortcut is usually Ctrl+Shift+I.

3. Go to the "Console" tab.

4. Paste the following into the entry field at the bottom and hit "Enter"

As long as you stay on the page, it will automate boops for you every 30 seconds. To adjust the frequency of boops, change the number for time. I seriously do not recommend going faster than 500 milliseconds/0.5 second.

You will know it's working because you will see the UI go to the confirm boop overlay and it will automatically confirm. Then it will keep repeating.

To stop spamming boops, simply refresh or close the page/tab.

heyyyy so psa to fanfic authors out there: I got a very polite comment on a fic of mine this morning (from a verified ao3 account) asking if they could feature my fic on their youtube channel, and would only do so with permission and would give me full credit and link me.

obviously, I went and checked out the channel myself, and it was a content farm with clickbait titles that technically did "feature" fanfiction: every video was an automated/ screen-to-text reader reading the fanfic in full out loud over??? some video game???? and then linking the author and the fic in the comments, for authors that had agreed to identical comments to mine. not sure if they would have agreed if they'd realized that they'd received an automated comment on their fic, replied as if it was a human being, and then likely an automated process popped out the video of a screen-to-text reader directly reading their fic with no commentary or other fair use edits over possibly even stock footage??? given that these things are 2-4 hours long and the channel is posting a video every day???, for whomever owns the channel to get advertisement money.

so just. check and make sure it's a human being that actually wants to talk about your fic and not someone farming for content if you get a comment asking if you'd be willing to be "featured" on a youtube channel.

I absolutely don't know for certain, but personally I'm fairly hopeful that Emmerdale posting episodes to youtube won't mean they start copyright striking too many other channels, partly because Hollyoaks already posts full youtube episodes and I know several channels are able to still post clips, and partly because at least in the 2010s in my experience, Emmerdale always seemed to be slightly less strict than the other soaps about copyrighting videos
