Lightning Arresters Uses
Lightning Arresters are widely used all over the world in different industries. Here are the top uses of Lightning Arresters -When a traveling wave reaches the arrestor, its sparks over at a certain prefixed voltage. The arrestor provides a conducting path to the waves of relatively low impedance between the line and the ground.
The surge impedance of the line restricts the amplitude of the current flowing to the ground.
The lightning arrester provides a path of low impedance only when the traveling surge reaches the surge diverter, neither before it nor after it.

Lightning Protection Systems Protect Against The Power Of Nature
A reliable and effective lightning protection device is important to protect buildings and other structures from the damage that lightning can cause. Since there are often clouds in Singapore, it is even more significant to have good lightning protection.
How Lightning Protection Systems Work
Lightning protection system are made to lessen the damage caused by lightning strikes by giving the electrical current a safe way to follow. These systems have many parts, such as lightning rods, wires, and grounding systems. By safely sending the electricity from a bolt of lightning into the ground, these systems reduce the chance of damage to buildings, fires, and injuries to people.
Tumblr media
Singapore has a tropical climate, so thunderstorms happen often. To keep buildings, equipment, and people safe, investing in an effective lightning protection device is important. Whether it’s a home, a business, or an industrial building, a Lightning protection installation correctly gives peace of mind and saves valuable possessions from lightning-related risks.
To ensure the best level of safety and dependability, it is important to find an established lightning protection system supplier in Singapore. A supplier with a lot of experience will know a lot about area rules, standards in the industry, and the latest lightning safety technology. Lightning protection system supplier Singapore can suggest the best method based on the wants and needs of the building, which will protect it from lightning.
Tumblr media
Lightning Risk Assessment Is Very Important
Lightning risk assessment is very important in figuring out how much security building needs. It includes figuring out how likely a lightning strike is and what might happen if it does. The review considers the location, height, number of people living there, and the possibility of sensitive devices or supplies.
Lightning risk assessment needs to be done regularly, especially on changed or grown buildings. The lightning risk profile can change if the building’s form, which lives there, or the area around it changes. By doing regular reviews, any changes or upgrades that need to be made to the lightning protection system can be found and put in place to keep the best security.

Understanding Lightning Surges
Lightning Surges: Their Causes and Occurrence
Lightning Surges can happen when electric charges build up in the air, which can happen during thunderstorms. When these charges move through something that conducts electricity, like structures, power lines, or trees, they cause strong shocks that can damage electrical systems.
Tumblr media
Effects of Lightning Surges
Equipment Damage
Lightning Surges can do a lot of harm to electrical and tech gear. Lightning strikes have a huge amount of energy and current that can overheat circuits, burn out parts, and fry sensitive microelectronics.
Loss of data and time offline
Lightning storms can cause more than just physical damage. They can also cause loss of information and system outages. Sudden power outages can cause files to become corrupt, databases to be hacked and important systems to stop working, which can cost a lot of money and cause problems.
How earthing keeps you safe from lightning strikes
Changing the flow of electricity
A low-resistance path for electrical current to run into the ground during a lightning strike or power surge is provided by earthing protection systems. By giving the extra energy this other way, the system keeps it from touching and hurting sensitive equipment.
Equalizing Voltage Potential
Earthing systems help ensure that the voltage potential of all sensitive parts is the same. This ensures that there are no differences in the potential that could cause dangerous electrical shocks. Earthing protection protects against the harmful effects of voltage fluctuations by ensuring a stable reference point.
Conclusion
In Singapore, where storms are common, it is important to invest in an effective lightning protection installation to protect buildings, infrastructure, and people from the damage that lightning strikes can do. By knowing what goes into a lightning protection system, how it is installed, how important a lightning risk assessment is, and what the role of earthing protection is, one can make well-informed choices that will protect them from the power of nature.

Humans are weird: Too stupid to be real
( Please come see me on my new patreon and support me for early access to stories and personal story requests :D https://www.patreon.com/NiqhtLord Every bit helps)
There once was a species known as the Ping that held control over several dozen star systems near the outer edges of the known universe.
Under their reign entire worlds were turned into nightmarish hellscapes the likes of which only the mad could dream of and only the dead escape from. The Ping feasted on suffering for nutrients in a process still not fully understood today despite several centuries of research, and so they tortured and mutilated all within their domain.
It took the combined efforts of half a dozen species to finally drive the Ping back to their original homeworld. Countless billions died in the struggle, and twice as many went mad from the horrific images and hallucinations; yet the death like grip of the Ping was broken.
When it came to decide the fate of the Ping there was a heated debate amongst the victors. Half felt that the Ping were too dangerous to be left free and needed to be exterminated, while the other half was hesitant to be swayed by such extreme measures as it would make them no better than those they had fought to overthrow. The debate raged on for several weeks after the final battle until the moderates emerged victorious.
A massive cryogenic vault was constructed on the Ping homeworld and every surviving member of the species was locked within. Inside their cryo tubes the Ping would serve out their sentences until such a time as the rest of the galaxy felt the Ping could be set free into the universe.
To ensure the vault was not breached several different layers of defenses were installed, each created by a different species to ensure that no one member species could enter into the vault unless each agreed. With the security features in place the Ping homeworld was vacated and orbital beacons were placed warning all who came within system that the planet was off limits.
Years turned into decades, decades to centuries, and then millennia passed without a single soul setting foot on the planet. The former victors of the war continued with their lives and managing their new found freedom amongst the stars without the threat of the Ping. Perhaps it was in this new found sense of freedom that they slowly began to forget about the Ping’s existence all together.
Had any of them given the Ping a thought for even a moment one of them could have warned Humanity to stay away; but none did.
When humanity began expanding into the stars they spread out in all directions like lightning in the sky. Their appetite for the new and wondrous universe around them was insatiable. For too long they had known only the confines of their own world and with the coming of space travel they finally saw their chance to explore the stars; which led them to stumbling upon the Ping homeworld.
Where other races would have seen the array of defenses and obstacles blocking the world and turned away, humanity saw a mystery in need of solving.
“A seemingly dead world protected by such wonders?” they thought. “What treasures are hidden here?”
So they dove head first with reckless abandon into the world, ignoring the numerous warning signals that were still being transmitted by the automated systems orbiting the planet in languages they could not understand.
The first expedition hadn’t made it through the first layer of outer atmosphere before colliding into energy barriers. Crengthi shields operated on wave lengths not detectible by human instruments and so the ships were damaged but still capable of space flight.
The second expedition was able to study the shielding and devised a jamming device that would open small holes within the shield to allow ships to pass through. They had just made it into the lower atmosphere when ground based Kentoc automated cannons targeted their vessels and obliterated them.
The third expedition was larger than the previous two by far as the military had seen the results of the ground based weaponry and wanted their scientists to reverse engineer them. A large military contingent was deployed alongside the science vessels and spear headed the landings on the surface.
Once more the Kentoc cannons roared into the heavens but the military ships were able to withstand the barrage. There were still losses and a few of the heavier landing craft were obliterated, but still many more troop carriers landed and dispersed their cargo of soldiers and scientists. It was here that they triggered the Julnu mind madness broadcaster.
Within minutes the humans who had survived to touch the surface of the Ping homeworld were driven mad by visions of such intense horror many gouged out their own eyes to make the nightmares stop. The military leaders still in orbit could only watch in horror as every human on the planet killed each other and then themselves until once more the planet lay silent.
And so it went on for decades on and off again.
Expedition after expedition would be sent to the Ping homeworld building atop the advances made by the previous until succumbing to the world themselves. Sometimes it was the military, other times private corporations, and then eventually even privateers and treasure hunter’s came drawn to the world by the ever growing legend.
The defenses of the world were extensive, but not infinite; and with each expedition they grew thinner and thinner until finally the humans had reached the cryo vault itself. It was here that the other surviving races of the universe who had once imprisoned the Ping received a final warning transmission that the vault was about to be breached.
Historical records were dusted off and it was with great horror that these races knew of what would be unleashed should they fail to keep the humans from the vault. Wars between them all but ceased as their military fleets were rerouted to the Ping homeworld.
When they arrived they were surprised to find there were no longer any humans on the world. In fact, there was not a single living human left in the entire system.
They quickly descended on the world and found that it had been stripped bare of all technology. Energy shields, automated weapons, broadcasting systems; anything of value had been taken by the humans in their relentless pursuit of the mysterious world was claimed as their prize.
Fearing the worst the races rushed deep into the confines of the world for the cryo vault , hoping beyond hope that the humans had not been so foolish as to unleash the most dangerous species the universe had ever known. Scorched and melted, they found the vault doors had been cut through and breached. With weapons drawn and at the ready they advanced into the vault but found something they had not expected.
Every single cryo pod was missing from the vault, but at the entrance of the vault casually tossed off to the side was a massive mound of dead Ping. Each body had a single hole in their forehead from what was most likely a close range human automatic weapon ensuring immediate death. While some of the races breathed a sigh of relief, others were outraged at the casual butchery carried out by the humans and sought answers.
A delegation was sent to the human homeworld to demand answers and answers they were given.
One of the pods had indeed been opened shortly after the vault had been breached and the humans interacted with the Ping for a brief time. It soon became quickly obvious that the Ping were a hostile race as they immediately attempted to kill all of the humans present and free either brethren.
After a two dozen killed soldiers and scientists it was finally brought down when an excavation bot rammed it through the chest and impaled it to the wall of the vault. It bled out screaming in its alien tongue for hours until finally it died.
The leader of the expedition was given instructions to bring back any usable technology, but nothing on what to do if encountering sentient life forms. It had been a general consensus that they had been dealing with the automated defenses of a long dead civilization so it had never been considered.
Taking into account the hostile nature of the Ping, the leader made a judgment call that they could not be safely released back into the universe. Upon the opening of each cryo pod the occupant was summarily executed before they could fully recover and tossed aside while the pod was removed from the chamber.
The gathered alien delegates were dumbfounded by the humans. They had breached one of the most secure locations in the known universe without fully understanding it and had slain the greatest evil of the universe held within, and had moved on to new endeavors as if what they had just done was as interesting as a casual walk in spring.
They worried what would happen the next time the humans became interested in something.

PLATONIC YANDERE MANAGER KIM X READER (MANAGER KIM)
Tumblr media
Manager Kim as a dad would be insanely protective of you and a literal definition of a helicopter parent and rightfully so considering all that he's been through in his life with crackheaded mafia bosses and North and South Korean gangsters chase after him and the military and whatnot. Needless to say, he's lived a really rough life and he'll be damned if he let anything happen to you and Minji because of his past. He'll do his best to shield you from the horrors of his past and make sure you only have happy memories and things to think about
He's a bit sad that Minji seems to dislike him but takes comfort and solace in the fact that you like him. You cannot have friends till he runs a full background check on them and after rounds and rounds of interrogation to find out their intentions with you, only then will he allow you to hang out with him, of course, you'll have to call him every 10 minutes and he'll know about your location anyway because of the GPS tracker he's installed on your phone. Plus, you have your older sister Minji looking out for you too so everything will be fine
Everything else is secondary, you're important to him, more than you know and can imagine. He would literally murder and kill anyone who dares to have the thought of harming you and Minji. In fact he has. A few weeks ago a new bookstore opened up near your house and you were pretty excited to check it out since you had a fondness for books. He allowed you to explore it only if Minji could accompany you as well, which she would have done in the first place, she's equally overprotective of you as well with the overwhelming and constant urge to protect her younger sibling from danger and guide them in the time of their need
The bookstore was a quaint little place and you loved the cozy aura and warmth it radiated. While you were busy checking the books out, a few men who appeared to be members of the Yakuza entered the store. Minji instinctively rushed in front of you and threatened them to leave as they simply sneered at her. One of them leered at you with a wide grin on his face as he spoke "Boss will be happy to have a cutie like you in bed with him... or if he doesn't want you, don't worry, I'll take care of you and show you a good time... we can share among my pals too if you want~" Minji got livid at the garbage they spewed as you felt disgusted and slightly scared about what these men might do to you. You didn't have fighting lessons as a kid and you definitely didn't know how to fight a full grown man from the Yakuza
A few seconds later, you heard a few men groaning in agony as you noticed two people move with lightning speed, disarming the men and tactically fighting them. You took a closer look and couldn't believe your eyes when you saw your dad and his friend, Hansu Seong just dodging their punches with ease and delivering punches and kicks like it was nothing. Your dad had a chain with him as he wrapped it around the neck of someone and chocked him with it till he passed out cold. You stared in admiration as Hansu leaped at a great height and kicked his opponents, rendering them with agony and brutal pain
After they ensured you were all right, Manager Kim got you out of that damned bookstore immediately. It turned out they belonged to one of the most prominent yakuza gangs of the country and were sent since your dad had a tiff with their boss. After this incident, you weren't allowed to go anywhere without him or Hansu anymore. He kept a strict eye and monitored your electronic usage as well, limiting you to only an hour on your phone or laptop while he's in the same room with you. There are reports of hackers installing malware into computer systems, he just wants to keep you safe from harm
You'll soon grow weary and fed up with this lifestyle of not being able to do your own thing anymore. You can reason, argue or even cry for that matter with your dad but he won't budge from his decision. As much as it pains him when you're upset, he can't risk your safety. Your safety is more important to him than anything else. It's not like you can exactly ask your dear older sister Minji for help anyway, she'll know what you're planning and instantly report it to her dad and the two of them will shut down whatever idea was forming in that head of yours without even getting to execute it. If you have a diary you can bet your allowance she WILL read it, every page and every word
It's not like she wants to invade your privacy or anything, she just wants to know more about you and keep a protective watchful eye over you like any good older sibling does. If you have a crush or someone broke your heart, she'll inform your dad about it immediately and before you know it that particular family will leave the country as soon as possible. Your dad and your sister like spoiling you with whatever you ask for, anything you ask, you receive except for your freedom of course
You can't really go ask Hansu or Jincheol for help either, Jincheol will just egg Manager Kim on with how risky things are outside for a young little thing like yourself and you need protection. You can't trust Taehun and Dabin either, they'll snitch on you anyway to their dads and their dads will inform yours and before you know it, you'll have a whole squad looking for you if you ever thought about running away or escaping. Surprisingly not even Taehun will assist you in running away, he'll just swat you on the head and tell you to forget the idea and go back to your dad. You clearly aren't meant to be alone in a cruel world
I guarantee you, it won't even be 5 minutes before your dad finds you and will just carry you like a sack of flour with a stoic expression. However his heart is bleeding with pain and regret, not because of his parenting but because you felt the need to run away since you obviously thought he wasn't showering you with more attention. "I recommend some nice hot dinner and a good night's sleep to forget about the night you've had... it's dangerous what you've done" said Hansu, his voice a bit stern as he adjusted his glasses. "As much as I'm all for having fun, you did give your old man a damn heart attack running away like that, don't do that kid..." said Jincheol as you were carried back home. You sighed in defeat and realized dejectedly that there really was no way out for you. Might as well just give up. No one would help you anyway, not even the police officers who know all too well about your dad's records with the government. No one wants to mess with an ex war veteran after all, not unless they have a death wish...

U.S. Approves Foreign Military Sale for South Korean F-15K Upgrade
The State Department has approved the possible sale of components that will allow South Korea to upgrade its F-15K Slam Eagle fleet to a configuration similar to the F-15EX Eagle II.
Stefano D'Urso
F-15K upgrade
The U.S. State Department has approved on Nov.19, 2024, a possible Foreign Military Sale (FMS) to the Republic of Korea of components that will allow the upgrade of the country’s F-15K Slam Eagle fleet. The package, which has an estimated cost of $6.2 billion, follows the decision in 2022 to launch an upgrade program for the aircraft.
The State Department has approved the possible sale of components that will allow South Korea to upgrade its F-15K Slam Eagle fleet to a configuration similar to the F-15EX Eagle II.The F-15KThe new capabilities
The Slam Eagles are the mainstay of the Republic of Korea Air Force’s (ROKAF) multirole missions, with a particular ‘heavy hitting’ long-range strike role. According to the available data, the country operates 59 F-15Ks out of 61 which were initially fielded in 2005. In 2022, the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) approved the launch of an upgrade program planned to run from 2024 to 2034.
In particular, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency’s (DSCA) FMS notice says a number of components were requested for the upgrade, including 96 Advanced Display Core Processor II (ADCP II) mission system computers, 70 AN/APG-82(v)1 Active Electronically Scanned Arrays (AESA) radars, seventy 70 AN/ALQ-250 Eagle Passive Active Warning Survivability System (EPAWSS) electronic warfare (EW) suites and 70 AN/AAR-57 Common Missile Warning Systems (CMWS).
In addition to these, South Korea will also get modifications and maintenance support, aircraft components and spares, consumables, training aids and the entire support package commonly associated with FMS. It is interesting to note that the notice also includes aerial refueling support and aircraft ferry support, so it is possible that at least the initial aircraft will be ferried to the United States for the modifications before the rest are modified in country.
Tumblr media

The components included in the possible sale will allow the ROKAF to upgrade its entire fleet of F-15Ks to a configuration similar to the new F-15EX Eagle II currently being delivered to the U.S. Air Force. Interestingly, the Korean configuration will also include the CMWS, currently not installed on the EX, so the F-15K will also require some structural modifications to add the blisters on each side of the canopy rail where the sensors are installed.
“This proposed sale will improve the Republic of Korea’s capability to meet current and future threats by increasing its critical air defence capability to deter aggression in the region and to ensure interoperability with US forces,” says the DSCA in the official notice.
The upgrade of the F-15K is part of a broader modernization of the ROKAF’s fighter fleet. In fact, the service is also upgrading its KF-16s Block 52 to the V configuration, integrating a new AESA radar, mission computer, self-protection suite, with works expected to be completed by 2025. These programs complement the acquisition of the F-35 Lightning II and the KF-21 Boramae.

The F-15K
The F-15K is a variant of the F-15E Strike Eagle built for the Republic of Korea Air Force’s (ROKAF) with almost half of the components manufactured locally. The aircraft emerged as the winner of the F-X fighter program against the Rafale, Typhoon and Su-35 in 2002, resulting in an order for 40 F-15s equipped with General Electric F110-129 engines. In 2005, a second order for 21 aircraft equipped with Pratt & Whitney F100-PW-229 engines was signed.
The Slam Eagle name is derived from the F-15K’s capability to employ the AGM-84H SLAM-ER standoff cruise missiles, with the Taurus KEPD 350K being another weapon exclusive to the ROKAF jet. The F-15K is employed as a fully multi-role aircraft and is considered ad one of the key assets of the Korean armed forces.
With the aircraft averaging an age of 16 years and expected to be in service until 2060, the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) launched in 2022 an upgrade program for the F-15Ks. The upgrade, expected to run from 2024 to 2034, is committed to strengthening the mission capabilities and survivability of the jet.
The F-15K currently equips three squadrons at Daegu Air Base, in the southeast of the country. Although based far from the demilitarized zone (DMZ), the F-15K with its SLAM-ER and KEPD 350 missiles can still hit strategic targets deep behind North Korean borders.
Tumblr media

The new capabilities
It is not yet clear if the F-15K will receive a new cockpit, since its configuration will be similar to the Eagle II. In fact, the F-15EX has a full glass cockpit equipped with a 10×19-inch touch-screen multifunction color display and JHMCS II both in the front and rear cockpit, Low Profile HUD in the front, stand-by display and dedicated engine, fuel and hydraulics display, in addition to the standard caution/warning lights, switches and Hands On Throttle-And-Stick (HOTAS) control.
Either way, the systems will be powered by the Advanced Display Core Processor II, reportedly the fastest mission computer ever installed on a fighter jet, and the Operational Flight Program Suite 9.1X, a customized variant of the Suite 9 used on the F-15C and F-15E, designed to ensure full interoperability of the new aircraft with the “legacy Eagles”.
The F-15K will be equipped with the new AN/APG-82(V)1 Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar. The radar, which has been developed from the APG-63(V)3 AESA radar of the F-15C and the APG-79 AESA radar of the F/A-18E/F, allows to simultaneously detect, identify and track multiple air and surface targets at longer ranges compared to mechanical radars, facilitating persistent target observation and information sharing for a better decision-making process.
F-15K upgrade
Tumblr media

The AN/ALQ-250 EPAWSS will provide full-spectrum EW capabilities, including radar warning, geolocation, situational awareness, and self-protection to the F-15. Chaff and flares capacity will be increased by 50%, with four more dispensers added in the EPAWSS fairings behind the tail fins (two for each fairing), for a total of 12 dispenser housing 360 cartridges.
EPAWSS is fully integrated with radar warning, geo-location and increased chaff and flare capability to detect and defeat surface and airborne threats in signal-dense and highly contested environments. Because of this, the system enables freedom of maneuver and deeper penetration into battlespaces protected by modern integrated air defense systems.
The AN/AAR-57 CMWS is an ultra-violet based missile warning system, part of an integrated IR countermeasures suite utilizing five sensors to display accurate threat location and dispense decoys/countermeasures. Although CMWS was initially fielded in 2005, BAE Systems continuously customized the algorithms to adapt to new threats and CMWS has now reached Generation 3.

Note
whats the status of like. using linux on a phone. it feels like there are two parallel universes, one that kde lives in where people use linux on phones, and one where if you google linux phones you discover theyre almost usable but they can barely make phone calls or send texts and they only run on like 4 models of phone
don't have much experience with linux on phone so anyone please correct me if i'm wrong but
one of the problems with phones is that every vendor and manufacturer adds their own proprietary driver blob to it and these have to be extracted and integrated into the kernel in order for the hardware to function.
as companies don't like to share their magic of "how does plastic slab make light", reverse engineering all your hardware is quite a difficult task. Sometimes there just isn't a driver for the camera of a phone model yet because no one was able to make it work.
So naturally, this takes a lot of time and tech is evolving fast so by the time a phone is completely compatible, next generations are already out and your new model obsolete.
Also important to note: most of this work is made by volunteers, people with a love for programming who put a lot of their own time into these things, most of them after their daytime jobs as a hobby.
Of course, there are companies and associations out there who build linux phones for a living. But the consumer hardware providers, like Pinephone, Fairphone and others out there aren't as big and don't have this much of a lobby behind them so they can't get their prices cheap. Also the manufacturers are actively working against our right to repair so we need more activism.
To make the phones still affordable (and because of said above driver issues) they have to use older hardware, sometimes even used phones from other manufacturers that they have to fix up, so you can't really expect a modern experience. At least you can revive some older phones. As everything Linux.
Then there's the software providers who many of are non-profits. KDE has Plasma Mobile, Canonical works on Ubuntu Touch, Debian has the Mobian Project and among some others there's also the Arch Linux ARM Project.
That's right baby, ARM. We're not talking about your fancy PC or ThinkPad with their sometimes even up to 64-bit processors. No no no, this is the future, fucking chrome jellyfishes and everything.
This is the stuff Apple just started building their fancy line of over-priced and over-engineered Fisher-Price laptop-desktops on and Microsoft started (Windows 10X), discontinued and beat into the smush of ChatGPT Nano Bing Open AI chips in all your new surface hp dell asus laptops.
What I was trying to say is, that program support even for the market dominating monopoles out there is still limited and.... (from my own experience from the workplace) buggy. Which, in these times of enshittification is a bad news. And the good projects you gotta emulate afterwards anyways so yay extra steps!
Speaking of extra steps: In order to turn their phone into a true freedom phone, users need to free themselves off their phones warranty, lose their shackles of not gaining root access, installing a custom recovery onto their phone (like TWRP for example), and also have more technical know-how as the typical user, which doesn't quite sounds commercial-ready to me.
So is there no hope at all?
Fret not, my friend!
If we can't put the Linux into the phone, why don't we put the phone around the Linux? You know... Like a container?
Thanks to EU regulations-
(US consumers, please buy the European versions of your phones! They are sometimes a bit more expensive, but used models of the same generation or one below usually still have warranty, are around the same price as over there in Freedom Valley, and (another side tangent incoming - because of better European consumer protection laws) sometimes have other advantages, such as faster charging and data transfer (USB-C vs lightning ports) or less bloated systems)
- it is made easier now to virtualize Linux on your phone.
You can download a terminal emulator, create a headless Linux VM and get A VNC client running. This comes with a performance limit though, as a app with standard user permissions is containerized inside of Android itself so it can't use the whole hardware.
If you have root access on your phone, you can assign more RAM and CPU to your VM.
Also things like SDL just released a new version so emulation is getting better.
And didn't you hear the news? You can run other things inside a VM on an iPhone now! Yup, and I got Debian with Xfce running on my Xiaomi phone. Didn't do much with it tho. Also Windows XP and playing Sims 1 on mobile. Was fun, but battery draining. Maybe something more for tablets for now.
Things will get interesting now that Google officially is a monopoly. It funds a lot of that stuff.
I really want a Steam Deck.
Steam phones would be cool.

Through local papers and word of mouth, volunteer Daya Shankar keeps track of a very specific cause of death. As soon as he receives news of someone being struck by lightning around his neighborhood in Jharkhand, East India, he picks up his motorcycle and heads to the destination. Sometimes he travels alone, other times with a team of five or six from the organization he volunteers for, the Lightning Resilient India Campaign. It’s a task he is undertaking increasingly often.
Last month, he rode to meet the Manjhi family, who lost an 8-year-old boy, Viresh, and his mother, Subodhra, after a tea stall they were sheltering under was struck during a storm. A lightning bolt can generate temperatures three times hotter than the surface of the sun, with a voltage millions of times higher than a household socket. If it connects with a human, it can stop the heart and respiratory system, damage the brain and nervous system, leave major burns, and cause blunt trauma if victims are flung by the force of being struck. On the day the Manjhis died, lightning also killed another person in the village and injured five others.
Each year, an estimated 24,000 people worldwide are killed by lightning. While a significant number, deaths per head of population have fallen sharply over the past two centuries, thanks largely due to urbanization, the protection of more substantial housing, and improved weather forecasting. But India’s large rural population remains badly affected. Between 2,000 and 3,000 Indians die annually by lightning, most of them working class people aged 10 to 50. Fatalities have risen by more than 50 percent since the turn of the century, outstripping population growth. Compare that to the US, where fatalities have been gradually falling and number around 20 a year. India can experience more than that number of deaths in a day.
Tumblr media
For every person who is killed by lightning, roughly another nine are struck and survive, often with life-changing injuries. And with climate change making stormy weather and lightning more common, activists like Daya believe the Indian government is failing to protect its people. “A bare minimum would be to at least spread information about all things lightning at local government level,” says Daya.
India has systems in place to predict dangerous storms. These work by gathering a lot of precise data, says Sanjay Srivastava, chair of the Climate Resilient Observing-Systems Promotion Council (CROPC), an intergovernmental institute that works to develop resilience against climate change impacts. Srivastava is also the convener of the Lightning Resilient India Campaign.
“Detecting the precise location of a lightning cloud-to-ground strike is a calculation mechanism where a minimum of three devices are required,” says Srivastava. These are radio frequency detectors, to detect the radio waves produced by lightning; a doppler weather radar, to detect precipitation and wind patterns associated with storms that may produce lightning; and a lightning detector, a device specifically designed to detect the electromagnetic signals produced by lightning strikes.
As of April 2022, India’s National Remote Sensing Center had 46 lightning-detection sensors installed across the country. Another institute, Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology, Pune, has 83 in place. These, along with other private and institutional data, monitor and guide India’s lightning strike warning system.
The data shows that Jharkhand and other neighboring regions in East and Central India are among the country’s hot spots, as they are where hot and dry air currents from the northwest meet moist easterly currents. When clouds encounter warmer air, moist air rises until it reaches the subzero temperatures of the upper atmosphere, where it can freeze into ice particles called graupel. As these then collide with other ice particles, they generate electrostatic charges, which can eventually lead to lightning. Rising global temperatures are increasing this phenomenon.
However, despite advancements in meteorology, the full mechanisms behind lightning’s formation and behavior remain partially shrouded in mystery. The precise triggers, the exact nature of how lightning propagates through the atmosphere, and the factors that determine the intensity of each strike are still not fully understood. The risk to human life can be predicted in only fairly broad terms.
And while these early warning systems exist, their information often does not reach people in time. This is why volunteers like Shankar work to inform people on how to stay safe and teach how to build easy-to-make lightning arrestors—devices that neutralize cloud-to-ground lightning.
The day Shankar visited the Manjhis’ house, it was drizzling. On the way he spotted farmers and locals sheltering under trees. He stopped to inform them that standing under a tree during rainfall increases the chances of getting hit by lightning. But they said there was no other place where they could take shelter.
Lightning strike casualties are more prevalent in rural areas where infrastructure is limited. Concrete houses, which can have protective Faraday cage effects, are less prominent there than in cities, while tall vegetation, which workers might shelter under, can attract strikes. Densely populated areas in stormy regions also see more casualties. “We can say there are two factors behind lightning casualties. There are lots of environmental factors, and then there are socioeconomic factors,” says Anand Shankar, who works at the India Meteorological Department at the Ministry of Earth Sciences in the state of Bihar (Anand and Daya are not related).
Increasingly, attention is focusing on air quality too. In recent research for Bihar, which neighbors Jharkhand and is one of the worst affected states in India, Anand found that particulate matter in the air increased lightning activity in the region. Aerosols such as pollution or dust particles can affect the friction between the particles that generate lightning and make it more common.
But to what extent growing casualties in Bihar can definitively be attributed to pollution or global warming isn’t yet clear, says Ashish Kumar, a colleague of Anand’s at the IMD. “We had no data before 2015–16, so we have not come to the conclusion whether this is happening recently due to climate change.” But Kumar doesn’t refrain from pointing out that a warming planet can lead to increased lightning activities. Research has projected that a 1 degree Celsius rise in temperature can lead to a 12 percent increase in lightning strikes.
When Daya reached the Manjhis’ house, the family told him that Viresh and Subodhra had taken shelter under a plastic-roofed tea stall because a storm had hit on their way back home from their farm. “People consider that saving themselves from the water is most important,” he says, but they fall prey to dangerous lightning strikes if they stand under something that can act as a conductor. “The best option for them would have been to find a concrete shelter.”
Spreading this sort of knowledge is why volunteers like Daya hunt for the places where recent lightning deaths have taken place. “We often arrange talk shows and plays and other things in the rural areas, but people are either too busy or not interested. But when such accidents take place, people get aware and are willing to listen,” he says.
Another way the Lightning Resilient India Campaign tries to reach the masses is through schoolchildren. “They are curious and spread the message in their families and communities,” Daya says. Warnings are also pushed through government hooters and through mobile applications like the Damini app, which triggers a warning notification before a lightning strike.
“It is not like a cyclone, where you have seven days and you are evacuating people,” says Srivastava. “It’s instant. So, those 30 minutes or three hours are the golden hours.” But often farmers who live far away from their houses do not bring mobile phones to their fields and leave very early for work, and might miss the warning alert.
Srivastava and Anand agree that the best solution would be to put up more lightning arrestors. But with limited funds and a lack of government support, campaign volunteers have to resort to promoting the use of DIY lightning arrestors in high-risk areas. These can be made by fixing the metal rim of a bicycle wheel high up on a bamboo stick and attaching the rim to the ground using copper wire. “They are not bad for a small area, but their efficiency is limited when compared with bigger lightning arrestors,” says Srivastava.
In the absence of adequate protections, 16 of the 36 states and union territories in India have started accepting lightning strikes as a state disaster, including Bihar and Jharkhand, and so pay out compensation money of 400,000 rupees ($4,766) to the family of a deceased person. This does something to help families handle the economic shock of losing someone, but still leaves thousands unsupported. “Only 10 percent of people die—90 percent are left with a social trauma,” says Srivastava. “We need to create a psychosocial relief and also proper medical treatment for those who survive,” he says.

Why Solar Earthing is Essential for Your Solar Panel System
When you think about solar power, you probably picture sleek solar panels soaking up the sun, cutting down electricity costs, and promoting clean energy. But there’s one crucial element that often goes unnoticed—solar earthing. This unsung hero ensures your solar installation runs safely and efficiently for years.
In this blog, we’ll explore what solar earthing is, why it’s essential, and how it benefits both large solar power plants and smaller solar setups.
Tumblr media
What is Solar Earthing?
Solar earthing, also called grounding, is the process of connecting your solar panel system to the earth using conductive materials like copper or galvanized steel. The goal? To safeguard your system and everyone around it from electrical faults or lightning strikes.
Solar panel systems generate electricity, and with that comes the risk of faults due to factors like harsh weather, aging equipment, or unexpected electrical surges. A well-planned earthing system safely directs any stray or excess current into the ground, preventing hazards.
Why is Solar Earthing Important?
1. Ensures Safety for Users and Equipment
Solar systems operate with high electrical loads. Without proper earthing, an electrical fault can lead to dangerous shocks, fires, or damage to your system. A solid grounding setup protects your investment and ensures safety for all.
2. Boosts Efficiency in Solar Power Plants
For large-scale solar power plants, even a minor electrical fault can lead to substantial losses. Solar earthing stabilizes voltage levels, preventing disruptions and maintaining optimal efficiency.
3. Meets Regulatory Standards
Many countries have strict regulations requiring proper solar earthing for installations. Compliance not only helps avoid legal penalties but also guarantees a longer-lasting and safer system.
How Does Solar Earthing Work?
A solar panel system consists of several key components, including:
Solar panels
Inverters
Batteries (for off-grid systems)
Mounting structures
A proper earthing setup connects all these components to the ground using a network of conductors. If an electrical fault or lightning strike occurs, the current safely disperses into the ground instead of damaging the system or posing risks.
Different Types of Solar Earthing
The type of earthing method depends on the size and type of the solar installation. Here are three commonly used methods:
1. Plate Earthing
A metal plate, typically copper or galvanized iron, is buried underground and connected to the system. This is a common method for small-scale residential solar panel setups.
2. Rod Earthing
Metal rods are driven deep into the ground to ensure effective grounding. This method is ideal for larger solar power plants due to its efficiency and ability to handle higher electrical loads.
3. Strip Earthing
Conductive metal strips are laid underground to create a broad earthing network. This method is used for installations requiring a larger grounding surface area.
Key Benefits of Proper Solar Earthing
Enhances the Lifespan of Solar Installations A well-grounded system protects against electrical surges, reducing wear and tear and extending the life of your solar panels.
Improves System Reliability By keeping voltage levels stable, solar earthing ensures uninterrupted performance—even during extreme weather conditions.
Reduces Maintenance Costs A properly earthed system lowers the risk of electrical damage, minimizing costly repairs and replacements.
Provides Peace of Mind Knowing that your solar system is safeguarded from electrical hazards lets you enjoy clean, renewable energy without worry.
Earthing in Large Solar Power Plants
For utility-scale solar power plants, effective earthing is even more critical. These expansive installations require robust earthing systems, often incorporating advanced techniques like lightning arresters, to handle high electrical loads and unpredictable environmental factors.
Challenges in Solar Earthing
Despite its importance, solar earthing faces a few challenges:
Poor Soil Conductivity – In areas where the soil doesn’t conduct electricity well, additional measures like moisture-retaining compounds may be needed.
Corrosion of Earthing Components – Over time, earthing rods and plates may corrode, especially in humid regions. Regular maintenance helps prevent this.
Incorrect Installation – Faulty installation can compromise safety and efficiency. Always rely on experienced professionals to set up your system.
Best Practices for Effective Solar Earthing
Use High-Quality Materials – Opt for durable conductors like copper or galvanized steel for long-term reliability.
Schedule Regular Inspections – Routine maintenance helps catch potential issues early and keeps your system running smoothly.
Follow Local Regulations – Adhering to safety and compliance guidelines ensures your solar installation meets industry standards.
Final Thoughts
While solar earthing may not be the most talked-about aspect of solar energy, it’s one of the most vital. Whether you’re installing a small residential system or a large solar power plant, proper grounding is key to ensuring safety, efficiency, and long-term performance.
By investing in a reliable earthing setup, you’re not just protecting your solar panels you’re ensuring a secure and hassle-free switch to clean energy.

"SIDE GOLD"
CHAPTER 4: IKU AND THE BIRIBIRI GROUP (Part 2)
* List of Chapters
Translation: Naru-kun Raws: Anno
On that day, there was a storm across Honshu and unseasonable lightning was also observed on the Sea of Japan side. Even in Tokyo, a heavy drizzle that made the cold seep into the bones made the landscape seem smoky since the morning.
Although the conditions were the worst for outdoor group activities, the high morale of beginning a great task defied objective facts. The staff of the Fourth Legal Affairs Bureau, who were about to be sent to work, had diverse backgrounds and personalities, and the breakfast room was busy and noisy.
Those who interact carelessly,
"Iyoda-kun~, give me the salt, salt~"
"Yes, here you have. Why do you put salt on rice every time you see it?"
A person enjoying a meal,
"Today's food is also really delicious."
"Hmm! Chika-dono's miso soup is exquisite!"
"Oh, that's right... the manager's pickles are delicious too."
Those who talk about work,
"We don't have practice at the dojo today, so it would be great to go out and have something to eat!"
"Normally people don't like to be shipped, but..."
The people gathered in the small dining room looked like young people who could be found anywhere, they were no longer wearing blue clothes or carrying swords.
Their title as members of the Fourth Legal Affairs Bureau is a legal system and they do not actually work for the Ministry of Justice. The office where daily work was carried out, the living space where people slept, they were all located in a corner of the former state guest house that displayed Tsubakimon's luxurious appearance... or rather, it was in a building in the corner.
Next to the simple entrance, which only looks like a back door, there is a plaque with the name ''Ao Mamoru-sha'' written in Somei Nazumi's handwriting, but in reality, this building was used as an office and living space for the exclusive servers of the guest house. Permission to use the main building has not yet been granted (although it is clear that they will not be able to handle the current number of staff).
The dining room is so transparent that you can enter directly through the outside door and the adjacent kitchen is only separated by a curtain. It was a very simple installation for service, separate from the kitchen for guests.
Somei Chika, dressed in a triangular sling and a Japanese kappo uniform, emerged from the kitchen.
"Today's dispatch is likely to be a long battle with those with abilities. Be sure to maintain your strength!"
Everyone responded in unison, worthy of the loud cheers.
An old woman called softly to Chika from behind.
"That's enough, so Chika-san, please enjoy your food."
She gave her a tray with breakfast in a natural and discreet way.
This old woman is not only the guardian of "Ao Mamoru-sha", as Nazumi calls her, but of the entire guest house.
She has been protecting the state pension since the war and, even after her husband, who was also her colleague, died in prison at the hands of the special high police, she continued her work with calm and dedication. She led a small group of servants and kept the entire vast state guesthouse beautiful, and she possessed a mysterious ability that even Nazumi admired.
Chika bowed to the respectful woman and accepted the tray.
"Yes, I appreciate your words."
Of the members of the Fourth Legal Affairs Bureau, only Nazumi and his wife travel from their nearby home. When they have to leave early like today, they usually have breakfast there, which they usually do at home. Chika not only eats, but she also helps the manager cook, so there will be one more food item for breakfast the day she comes.
This is the reason why the morale of the youth has increased considerably.
Chika walked behind them and sat in the reserved seat in the back, facing Nazumi.
He had already eaten his breakfast and there was not a single grain of rice or a drop of miso soup left. The tray had been pushed aside and a thick pile of books was piled between them.
Chika was a little taken aback.
(I wonder what kind of job it is.)
She has not heard that there was work to be done before being sent.
Beyond that mountain, Nazumi seemed to rise and reveal his face.
"Thanks for the food."
"That was a bad job."
After calmly responding to the polite voice, Chika asked.
"Nazumi-san, what is that book?"
If you look closely, you will see that it is not the usual bundle of government documents or an assembled file, but a collection of poems or Chinese classics. Apparently it was taken from the library of the State Guest House.
"My "Fourth Legal Affairs Bureau" also wants to have some kind of behavior or words that express the links clearly, so I've been looking at various documents... but it just doesn't fit very well."
Chika could easily imagine the worried face on the other side of the stack of books. Not only that, but she was also able to see through two or three levels of deep worry that were swaying like a fine mist.
"Do you have any concerns that will distract you from today's deployment?"
He wouldn't be surprised if someone could see through him now.
Rather, with the joy of being seen, Nazumi revealed his true feelings.
"I'm sure the plans and arrangements are perfect. But for some reason, I just don't feel like I can finish it..."
"Are you saying that when that "Red King" appears, the calculations go wrong?"
"The only thing I can say is that it is close, but different. When the matter reaches the "King", the mystery that governs that "Slate" is not clearly solved... and I feel very bad."
The superhuman irritation in her husband's voice.
With a single word, his wife returned him to the human horizon.
"Isn't that good?"
"Huh, is it?"
"The power of that "Slate" and the "King" are definitely things that exist in the floating world. As with anything else, isn't it okay to be in a bad mood because you can't get things done?"
"......"
On the other side of the stack of books, Chika could easily imagine Nazumi's no-nonsense face examining his opinions. The questioning tone of voice she had imagined returned.
"That is what it is?"
"That's right."
Chika dared to say it simply.
After a brief pause, Nazumi added.
"...I'm not convinced, but I understand. Chika-san."
"As you say."
"Your food is getting cold, please eat it quickly."
Chika took off her sling and put her palms together with a smile.
"Yes, Itadakimasu."
The unnamed intelligence agency was located in Nanakamado, Tokyo.
The facility's predecessor was an international Christian general hospital. Fortunately, the chalk building, with its magnificent bell tower, was saved from air raids and immediately after the end of the war it became a valuable medical center accommodating a wide variety of patients.
However, some time ago, it became the headquarters and research facility of an intelligence agency, with a fake sign reading "Infectious Disease Control Research Institute", a thick iron gate, and a high fence with a tap.
Today you could say that it has become a reality.
All the powers that had been established by them were revoked by official notification.
It was supposed to be done, but there is still debris moving around inside the room.
The noise was especially noticeable in the westernmost rooms on the top floor. It was established when the organization concentrated its personnel and functions there, and it is a command post that controls both internal analysis and command, as well as external reception and transmission.
The windows are covered with thick concrete, preventing the passage of wind and light. An electrical panel representing the Kanto region is installed on the wall and continues to display the movements of the objects being monitored. The tense atmosphere inside the room was created by those who operated the screens, those who provided information for their operation, those who received and transmitted information from outside, and those who reported and made adjustments derived from it.
Behind them, from a raised floor, a military-looking American gave instructions one after another.
"Keep all the generators running, okay, everything!"
Before it expired... his title was Director of the Extraterrestrial Intelligence Agency, in other words, Commander of Nanakamado.
"Never let anyone hang up on Atsugi's "Demodori"! If a conflict really breaks out, they will be looking for an opportunity to unite! No matter how trivial the data is, send them all the information to stimulate them!''
The scene was neither brave enough to be called anger, nor fierce enough to be called frenzy. In other words, it was a delusional movement that arose from the impatience of being cornered.
"Yokosuka's "Yaseppochi" hasn't come out yet?! Just one word is fine, keep calling until he answers! As long as we have the facts of the answer, we can negotiate with the CIA and the Pentagon as accomplices!"
Then, one of the engine members brings in a report containing new information.
After reading it, the chief engineer threw it away violently.
"Don't bring weather information! What do you mean the rain will turn into snow?! Today we are different from before! We are in a position to attack here...!"
After shouting, the chief engineer was shocked.
Everyone at the command post looked at him with worried faces.
As an intelligence agency, they are about to do something completely different than what they have done so far... gather information, capture targets, cover up operations, illegal experiments, etc. They were about to be forced to do so.
In other words, the act of undermining the systems and organizations that established them, and even the national structure.
Even if they had US backing (as the chief engineer insists), it was too risky a gamble to be taken lightly. Even so, the reason why they can barely maintain unity to the point of choosing to entrench themselves under the command of the chief engineer is due to their own status as intelligence agents.
That is...
"Listen, the person who knows the secret of an unprecedented phenomenon has become useless. Surrender and you will be detained by Headquarters, you know what will happen!"
This was because everyone was passively accepting the chief engineer's insistence that it had already happened for the umpteenth time.
"We will be accused of various clandestine jobs that will be imposed on us and handed over to our country of origin... At best, we will be deported and imprisoned, and at worst, we will be used as guinea pigs for investigation!"
Despite such instigation, there was no one in that organization who was clean and innocent enough to accept surrender. The fuel for their out-of-control behavior was the fear that "if they moved away from the side of manipulation and investigation, their position would be reversed".
Members of the intelligence service who spent their days committing shady deeds and even had a sense of pride in their actions attempted to crush them because Headquarters did not consider them that important, in fact, they looked down on them. The thought did not occur to them that their punishment would be lighter if they did nothing unnecessary.
Having no choice but to hide their feelings, they returned to their work.
The chief engineer, who had subdued his subordinate, turned his suspicious and hostile gaze towards the electrical panel on the wall.
The flashing light bulb on the map indicates the location of the convoy approaching the center, Nanakamado. It didn't seem like there was much time left.
"Tch."
After clicking his tongue, he gave new instructions to the two people behind him.
"Colt, help the doctor select interceptors. Anyway, quantity is more important than quality, okay?"
"Yes!"
One of them, Thomas Colt, responded with a salute, but there was no tension in his voice or his movements.
Despite the failure of the recent operation, and although he complained to the chief engineer about the danger to the king and others, he was able to remain head of the execution unit. This was because there was no one in the organization with more character and ability than him. In short, the previous operation was a crushing defeat for Nanakamado, who took it too seriously and lost the main strength of their active forces.
Colt himself suffered a crushing defeat to the point that the chief engineer no longer cared and, although as expected, his efforts to persuade Colt to cooperate failed. Although he felt ashamed, his feeling of boredom was not only due to his debt to these organizations.
There is no plausible theory that Nanakamado is advancing a pointless rebellion or that they are trotting out a Japanese Strain for that purpose. However, ever since that battle with the "Red King" Unno Yutaka, a word came to his mind from the bottom of his heart.
(What am I doing?)
As a "talented American" with no place to live, as an accomplice to Nanakamado's various actions, he must have had no choice, and he must have understood and agreed with him. Still, for some reason, he was captivated by those words, and the more he thought about them, the more he lost his inner strength.
Or, on the contrary,
"Come on, Colt-kun."
After receiving the order, another elderly Japanese man named Doctor put on his white coat and left the room. Even in that situation, he was still triumphant and led the way down the hallway with legs like dead branches.
This person was a scientist who was recruited from the former Ninth Army Technical Research Institute (also known as Kyuken or Noborito Research Institute) on the condition that he would be exempt from prosecution for war crimes, and was the main Strains researcher. in Nanakamado. He is also the leader of the analysis team that created a temporal structure from the initial "too conceptual and I don't know what it means" stage and systematized and theorized it to the point of forming a combat unit based on Strain.
Colt couldn't understand his attitude.
Although he was in an obvious situation, there was no difference from his usual situation. Maybe he just doesn't feel the battle that is about to begin, or maybe he has a strong spirit that never forgets to dedicate himself to his duties... or is he optimistic that the results of his own investigations will guarantee his safety, no matter what the result is?
Despite his confusion, the Doctor continued through the house, which serves as his garden, and soon entered a section that smelled of chemicals.
It was a detention center for Strain, with almost the entire floor taken up by a series of small rooms.
A person who is too fierce or too cowardly to be used. Someone who is strong or too weak to be used. Those who cannot be classified, those whose investigation and trial have not been completed, are allowed to stay for the time being. The last trump card left for Nanakamado, who has lost his main force, is the "interception personnel candidates in an emergency situation", who can be forced to follow them at gunpoint from the rear.
Normally, it was the rule to carefully evaluate the use of personality skills and aptitude before requesting cooperation, but in the current emergency, it is impossible to worry about such a pretense.
The Doctor continued forward, ignoring the countless looks of fear and resentment that peeked through the thick acrylic board. At the same time, he pressed the buttons under the room number one after another.
Each time the button is pressed, the red indicator light changes to green. That was the signal that "mobilization was possible", and the escort team was supposed to take him downstairs immediately.
Colt heard the Doctor murmur.
"No. 311, common, capable of killing, with a history of injury, good. No. 312, common, capable of killing, no history of injury, good. No. 314, common, non-lethal, with a history of murder, good. No. 315, Beta, has the ability to kill, has a history of murder, good. No. 317, without lethal capacity, has a history of injuries, good."
He looked away, feeling somewhat horrified that he seemed to be judging others calmly, even cheerfully, without referring to anything.
And there,
"No. 322, common, no lethal capacity, no history of injuries, bad."
A surprising verdict came.
There was someone who couldn't press the button.
Feeling a strange sense of relief, Colt looked towards room 322.
He looked at him and couldn't help but ask.
"D-doctor, is this child...?"
The Doctor, already making a decision several steps ahead, stopped and responded with a lack of interest.
"Hmm? No. 322 has the ability to generate electricity at the level of static electricity. She doesn't have the physique or physical strength, so she won't be of any use."
That judgment was completely correct.
Sitting in the middle of the room, cowering in fear, was a girl who wasn't even old (Colt had a hard time estimating the age of this skinny girl born in Asia). The marks of crying were clearly visible on her haggard and dejected face.
"Who are the parents of this girl?"
"She's a vagabond. I've made inquiries, but she has no family. The report says that the Strain group that attacked a US military transport vehicle did not manage to escape. Number 327, has the ability to kill, has a history of murder, good."
As he answered Colt's question, the doctor resumed his judgment process.
So far, several cases of Strains children have been confirmed. Most of them are locked up, hunted like monsters, or used by unscrupulous adults... in any case, they are said to be in even more dire circumstances than ordinary children.
Basically, Nanakamado doesn't see them as objects of use. The reason for this, of course, is not morality or love, but the fact that children with abilities are generally weak and have no value beyond statistical research. Still, for a while there were some people who advocated that they should secretly protect those children, but this is the current situation.
"......"
Colt, who had come into contact with the girl as a real human being and not as a series of characters on a sheet of paper, instinctively reached into his pocket and pulled out a bar of chocolate. Food that was normally used as bait to obtain information on corners was thrown through the food container. The girl looked up slightly.
"Do your best. You might be able to get out in a while."
He said that in clear Japanese while putting on his best fake smile.
Although the girl understood the meaning of the words, she did not seem to understand what he was trying to convey. All she could do was stiffen and look at him with suspicious, teary eyes.
"Colt-kun, what are you doing?"
"Oh, nothing."
When he responded to the doctor standing before him, there was a heavy impurity mixed with his fake smile.
(Seriously, what am I doing...?)
As if leaving his words and actions behind, Colt quickly left.
The girl who was left behind didn't even reach for the chocolate, she just lowered her head and called out to her.
"Iku-chan, please help me..."
The name of a very, very strong "Queen" who will help them.

There are rows of power transmission towers in the western suburbs of Tokyo. Under dark clouds and drizzle, a girl stood on top of what appeared to be a group of sotoba trees devastated by the cold.
She is not a beautiful and strong figure.
She has a young, dirty face and a forward-leaning posture.
She was around 10 years old and was wearing a tattered trench coat over her thin, petite body, but for some reason she has the hood down over her back. The way her chin jutted forward, along with her flowing hair, gave her the appearance of a wolf searching for prey. Both eyes peeking out of her bangs are closed.
It is not a peaceful dream.
It was a look of concentration and a deep expression.
And...
"...!"
In an instant, lightning exploded beneath her feet.
The girl simply opened her eyes without showing surprise or fear.
Her large eyes scanned the horizon where the electrical cables were strung.
"I found it."
A gigantic and complicated circuit diagram was constructed in the moaning girl's field of consciousness. It is a model of the area's transmission network, including the electrical cables under its feet, with the vibrations and flickering of it. She knows the strength and weakness of electrical currents, and even the content of communications.
What she found was a name that was nothing more than a communication.
"Someone gave a lot of importance to Miya-chan..."
Even now, there are people who continue to send information about people's names, characteristics and powers. Among them was the name of the friend she was looking for. Other information proves that she is definitely a friend who was taken away by the occupation forces.
The girl's forward-leaning posture leaned further, gathering strength to jump.
Just when,
"Huh, which one?"
She didn't know which side captured her friend, the one sending the message from the east or the one receiving it from the west. As she gathered more strength, she concentrated on that communication and investigated further.
Most of them were words she had never heard before, but it was easy to guess their meaning from the excitement in their voices and the way they structured the language (although she didn't know the words taii or suisoku).
The sender desperately seeks help and persistently relents.
The recipient seems reluctant and rarely responds.
The girl struggled to find out what role her friend plays in these communications, although she is anxious.
In communications sent from the east,
"Please send me as many talented people as you can as soon as possible!"
A voice shouted.
There are a lot of talented people on the receiving end in the west.
She is sure that there are many people with abilities, that is, there must be some friends who were taken away.
That's right, the girl who makes decisions based on reflexes instead of careful consideration wasn't wrong...
The girl turned her head towards the west.
"Let's go everyone!"
In response to the howl, dozens of shadows rose from the field below the power transmission tower. They were all skinny, dirty kids about the same age or younger. On those sharp and carved faces, there was a sense of fierce power similar to that of the girl.
A hand rose out of nowhere.
When everyone on the field raised their hands, the girl on top of the steel tower did the same. She's the only one who doesn't just raise her hand. She was raising her index finger as if to stab the sky.
"Come on!"
In an instant, lightning descended from the dark clouds, accompanied by thunder.
The explosive power of lightning erupted from the girl who raised her finger at the top of the group to the children below who raised their hands, connecting everyone with green sparks and electric shocks.
"Biribiri-dan, shuppatsu!"
And with that, the girl gathered all the strength she had accumulated and began to run.
As if she were flying, gliding on electric wires lying in the air.
The children who were on the ground are attracted by the strength of their bond and go together.
The "Green King" Tsunogui Iku and "Biribiri-dan" destroyed maintenance and disrupted stability, and they were completely wrong. However, it was a storm-like departure that made the shock that much greater.
On a gloomy morning under stormy skies with mostly freezing rain, residents near the Research Institute for Infectious Disease Control evacuated. They loaded their few household belongings into a large car, carried them in furoshiki wrappers on their backs, and, holding hands with their families, walked frantically toward their designated evacuation destinations. There were complaints from many people that it was too late to evacuate, but if it were a message from Headquarters, it would be undeniable.
At first glance, it seems reasonable for Headquarters to say:
"This is a precautionary measure along with sampling for infectious diseases".
Despite that, a large number of police and even the Occupation Forces were sent to establish a strict blockade. Everyone couldn't help but wonder about the truth that was openly kept secret.
Some of the demobilized soldiers understood that this blockade line was prepared for movement from the inside, but at the same time they noticed the serious looks on the faces of the American police and soldiers guarding the area, and they remained silent and did not want to get involved.
The evacuation, which had since sparked various speculations, and the deployment of personnel in jeeps and trucks, which had been transported upriver, were completed at noon. It was so cold and rainy that bonfires were even allowed in several places.
The Research Institute for Infectious Disease Control where Nanakamado hides quietly.
Police and American soldiers surround the chalk building, which is surrounded by a high concrete wall and has a very bad reputation among local residents. They formed an orderly formation even in the rain and placed their gun barrels on piles of sandbags, but they advanced no further. Its only function was to build a siege and capture fugitives. That was decided the night before at an emergency strategy meeting.
Similarly, the number of personnel responsible for the invasion and suppression was determined by the Fourth Legislation Bureau of the Ministry of Justice, headed by the "Blue King" Somei Nazumi, who had clarified the confusing meeting. Even including Nazumi himself, there are only nine people with that ability.
The nine of them lined up in front of the main gate of the research institute, holding umbrellas.
The row of umbrellas, some restless and others motionless, watched the ceremony to prepare for the formality of the execution. A messenger from the Second General Staff Department, armed with an order from Headquarters, rang the bell, a ritual that may seem modest but is also a decisive declaration of war.
There was no answer to the doorbell.
The messenger pressed the call button and read the document.
When he finished saying that, if they didn't comply, they would be executed, that is, forcibly seized, he ran out the door like a rabbit.
The messenger stood in front of the "Blue King" in the center of the row of umbrellas and greeting.
"Report! No response from external organizations! Request from the Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces Headquarters! Since the order was clearly violated, the Fourth Legal Affairs Bureau will quickly enforce it. That that's all!"
Nazumi folded his umbrella and placed it at his feet, then responded with the correct fold.
"Accepted by the Fourth Legal Affairs Bureau."
When the messenger left, a row of umbrellas folded their umbrellas one after another and placed them at their feet.
While catching the raindrops on his hat, Nazumi looked around the research institute.
"It seems that they have no intention of prolonging the negotiations and gaining time."
While her husband looks at the board, Chika helps him read by talking to him.
"What kind of winning strategy do you plan to find in this desperate situation?"
"That's right. If they wanted to engage in urban warfare, they would have launched it before the siege was completed."
As he smiled and enjoyed the conversation with his wife, Nazumi immediately got to the point.
"In that case, the operational posture is interception and the target is the assault force. That is to say, we are the Fourth Legal Affairs Bureau. Since we are the biggest nuisance to them, we must be exterminated within their base as soon as possible."
The staff members on both sides responded lightly depending on their courage.
Nazumi continued with a smile on his face.
"I think the goal is to create a stalemate with the surrounding forces that have already settled. What they fear more than anything is that the talented forces in Atsugi will not be able to arrive. That's why they want to crush us, the opposing force of reinforcements that come, with their first move. If we can crush them, we can use it as material to move Atsugi."
As the game progresses, the pieces of the puzzle come together one after another and the players' intentions come together. So far, he didn't have the overwhelming feeling of foreboding or unease that worried him in the morning. The reading continued with great clarity.
"When reinforcements arrive, we will concertedly break the siege, both internally and externally, causing unrest in Tokyo. They will then negotiate with Headquarters or the Japanese government for a pardon on the condition that they withdraw their troops. Then they return in triumph. home with their glorious war results and political achievements as souvenirs... Well, the best scenario would be something like that."
He then added with a smile on his face.
"Of course, that's impossible."
Chika added more to prevent her husband from becoming irreverent.
"Never forget that the other person also has the power to cancel the impossible."
"It was certainly premature."
Nodding solemnly, Nazumi stepped forward.
The officers once again straightened their backs at the act prior to the order.
But for some reason, instead of the usual orders, a long explanation came.
"Today's deployment is a monumental moment for us, the Fourth Legal Affairs Bureau, which has been officially entrusted with full authority to deal with individuals with the capacity to induce anomalous phenomena by breaking the chain of command between the Occupation Forces and the Armed Forces."
The staff, including Chika, were attacked by a bad feeling.
His especially logical explanation was determined to be an unavoidable incentive, even indirectly, to influence someone from a logical perspective, "something that is difficult to accept immediately".
"Right now, so to speak, is the place to reveal it... This morning during breakfast I came up with a gesture that would demonstrate to the viewers that I am willing to commit crimes against people with abilities, and also show them the model of order that must be maintained."
As expected, a proposal came that they couldn't immediately accept, but from which there was no escape.
"From now on, when we prepare for battle on the field, we will all draw our swords in order shouting a certain number. Following my order, each person please respond with their name and report having drawn their sword. Now, let's go "
The "Blue King" gave the orders, with the air of a cheerful driver and the voice of a stern superior.
"All members draw your swords!"
"To the order..."
Somei Chika, who was the deputy commander, or, in other words, the one who had to take the lead among the "vassals", was guarded by the staff and, although her cheeks were flushed, she followed orders. As soon as she picked up her naginata that she carried on her back, she put the sheath on her waist.
"Somei Chika, battou!"
With a loud, mesmerizing sound, she swung her drawn naginata and smashed the stone onto the ground.
Behind them, a scream escaped from the surrounding troops, exactly as Nazumi had anticipated.
Then, the last member of the station, who had been hesitating, finally moved after receiving an elbow in the side.
"I-Iyoda, battou!"
This time, his voice and his movements were moderate, so he was silent from behind.
With the assistance of both the good and the bad, the staff continued doing the same without hesitation.
"Rokugo, battou!"
"Hakizawa, battou~"
"Uh, uh, Nizuka, battou!"
"Hoizumi, battou!"
"Hentani, battou!"
"Toneyama, battou!"
After watching with satisfaction as everyone drew their swords, Nazumi slowly, but with a masterful movement, revealed the white blade.
"Somei Nazumi, battou!"
Naturally, he took a step forward and the station staff followed in line.
Because Nazumi was advancing at a regular pace,
"We're also working hard on creating other things, like extended front-end speeches. Look forward to the future."
For some reason, no one responded to proposal number two.
When the execution began, the telephone lines leaving the research institute were cut simultaneously in several places. They probably have backup lines buried underground and radio communication equipment, but the effectiveness of the measures is not the issue. That was a response to the enemy's declaration of war, which they ignored, and a signal for the start of the battle.
Next, the main door was hit by the stone tip of a naginata accompanied by blue power.
The thick iron gate was torn free of its bolts and fell onto the stone pavement of the front garden. When the glow of the earth's tremors faded, only the waves of freezing rain remained. There was no sound of movement in the barren front garden leading to the front door.
"As expected, there was no deployment of forces outside and no firing from inside. I guess it was a stalemate after 41 moves. As I thought, the real battle will only begin after we rush inside."
As he looked around from behind his hat, Nazumi gave them his final instructions.
"Originally, I would send the sword-shaped Radiant Schwert to strengthen them, but I don't want to irritate the "Colorless". I would like it to be a true test of skill."
The "King's" assessment was that it was possible to control the area with those nine people.
The confidence of the ''vassals'' in the evaluation of this ''king''.
They both took steps without hesitation and finally stopped in the middle of the front yard. It is a perfect place to observe the board, offering a panoramic view of the interior of the entrance, both ends of the house and even the bell tower above. After looking around,
"First move, reach the observation point... I will leave command to you from then on. Be careful."
Without bending down or bending his stretched back, he confided it to Chika,
"Yes. You should do your best."
Chika also looked forward and resolutely returned a response to Nazumi.
Then, leaving Nazumi in his place,
"Come on!"
The horizontal line resumed execution with Chika giving the order.
The tension in the formation increased with each step and finally, at its climax, eight people lined up at the entrance. The two wooden doors that once housed a general hospital are large and tall, and greeted them with an eerie silence.
Chika, as vice commander, looked left and right.
Although everyone was nervous to some extent, they did not hesitate.
After lifting her chin back in a slightly satisfied manner, the vice commander of the Fourth Legal Affairs Bureau issued a sharp order.
"Run!"
"Yes!"
"Come on!"
Hakizawa and Nizuka each kicked in the two doors, throwing everyone inside.
Before they could fall to the ground, the tremendous gunshots from inside would blow them to pieces.
To annihilate the intruders, countless bullets fell from beyond the barricade installed in the entrance hall, not only from pistols, but also from automatic rifles and machine guns. Furthermore, invisible shockwaves, blows, and cuts came like an avalanche.
To confront it head-on, Hentani and Toneyama erected a solid blue power shield.
"Wow, this is the first time I've seen the entire shield shake!"
"The impact of the "force" is greater than that of a bullet."
As they stopped to take cover at the entrance, swords imbued with power silently approached from behind the thick stone pillars to their left and right.
Immediately, Iyoda and Hoizumi killed them.
"Wow?!"
"It smells elegant!"
At the same time, Chika hit the two people falling directly on top of her with the flat part of her naginata, knocking them down. After confirming that the unconscious people had collapsed inside the mantlet, she asked Rokugo, who was staring at the center of everyone.
"How is?"
"There are no signs of bombs or gas."
Before he could say that, Hakizawa and Nizuka stepped forward and moved the position of the mantlet forward.
"Iyoda-kun, you are very strong in real life."
"Hey, two tablecloths are formed!"
The collision between the bullet and the force became even more intense.
Ignoring that, Hentani and Toneyama pressed harder and harder.
"Prevent shielding, advance further!"
"Secure the cutting position."
Once the shield was erected a short distance from the barricade, Chika gave an order.
"One, two, three, take it!"
Iyoda was first, followed by Hoizumi.
"Gaaah!"
"Keep formation!"
Following them, Hakizawa and Nizuka,
"Come on."
"Oh, wait."
Following them, Rokugo, Hentani and Toneyama as well.
"Keep pushing!"
"Understood!"
"Come on."
They jumped onto the barricade one after another, and fortunately, they were able to hit the barricade, expanding their control area from the front to the left and right, and then to the surrounding area. Finally, Chika, who had been setting up a shield at the rear, silently entered the barricade and obtained a bridgehead to control. There weren't many interceptors lying around inside, maybe they evacuated as they approached.
(After all, the other party is not exempt from measures either.)
Chika looked around her, preparing herself once again.
Located at the rear of the entrance hall, an empty hallway extends to the left and right. In each case, similar barricades were erected along the long road, with white swords and gun muzzles flashing.
This time, the officers prepared for the next attack while hiding behind barricades.
Rokugo, the security guard, shouted.
"Left hand, heavy weapon!"
A brief whistle was heard and bursts of rocket flames erupted from beyond the shield placed outside the barricade. The common sense that it's not something to shoot indoors seems to have lost its meaning in this situation.
"Prepare for a surprise attack by the talented!"
Chika perked up and stood like an unbreakable pillar in the center of the barricade.
(So far so good... now I'll gather the ingredients for Nazumi.)
Nazumi watches her efforts from the front yard.
(Heavy weapons, again from the west, 34 moves.)
To be precise, he was observing the battlefield and trying to understand the factors that made up the battle situation.
The initial location of the force, the behavior of talented people who seem to have a squad commander behind them, the direction in which they will retreat when attacked, the direction in which reinforcements will be sent, the density of the fire that they rain and the weapons of the interceptors. The types of weapons used are not only those of the battlefield.
(Grenade from above, 35 moves.)
The plan of the general hospital before its renovation, the appearance of the research institute after its renovation, the slight pipes and unevenness exposed in the wall, the route of the canal to drain ice and rain, the construction of the front garden and the damage to stone pavement. Until then, he mentally lined up everything that could be verified.
(Wave of attacks by talented people, 36 moves.)
In order for the actions that take place on the battlefield to be possible, it becomes clear what kind of structure the buildings must have and where the people must be. When that becomes clear, you will have the entire war situation in your hands.
And now,
(Reinforcements on the left side of the atrium. The pillars cannot be removed, so even if it is renovated, the structure will remain the same. The route of the bullets, the position of the barricade, the stairs to protect and the use of gas now. Chika-san, are you okay? 37 moves.)
All the phenomena were intertwined and the puzzle was completed.
In other words, reason and phenomenon have been clearly separated.
(Is that where the command post is?)
Nazumi looked from under his uniform towards the west end of the top floor.
The walls were exactly the same as the others, with the windows covered in concrete and disguised as shutters.
However, all battles occur around that area and they move to protect it.
Nazumi turned towards that, keeping his back straight. Due to the sharpness of his movements, his rain cape spread for a moment, pushing away the freezing rain particles. The regular steps began.
(Approach, 38 movements.)
In his mind, the "King" begins to count his own movements.
This was proof that the mission was in its final stage.
Finally, his steps began to gain strength and a blue crystal step formed beneath his feet as he stepped on them with an unchanging rhythm. Before long, he reached his destination, facing the west end wall of the top floor, without any hesitation or confusion.
(Accomplished, 39 movements.)
He held his saber upright in front of him like a guard of honor, then brandished it three and four times before returning to the same position. The thick concrete wall was cut into a blue line and collapsed inwards.
(Cut, 40 moves.)
The scene in the dimly lit room... electrical panels that had been smashed and sparks scattered, information equipment lined up all over the place, and the engineers looking at him stiffly proved that his assumption was correct.
The "Blue King" stared at them, throwing his saber forward and announcing his sentence.
"Forty-one moves, you are paralyzed. I recommend you all to surrender."
But,
In the end, when Nazumi visually checked the board, he should have immediately accepted the surrender. The expression of the man, the chief engineer, made him feel very uncomfortable.
"Ah, "Blue King"...!"
That harsh but trembling voice had a tone of desperation much darker than expected.
When Nazumi saw that, that feeling of foreboding and disgust suddenly came back to him from the depths of his heart.
Something was wrong. It was large and misaligned.
The chief engineer revealed to him the true nature of the discomfort.
"Is this... also... your doing?"
After saying that, Nazumi finally caught on to what he was pointing out.
A large communication device that had probably been chewing on it just now.
From that speaker overflowed the noise of the battlefield mixed with noise.
Nazumi had heard that the communication was coming from inside the house where a battle was taking place, but the truth was different.
[I urgently ask for help! I urgently ask for help!]
He understood it only from the word he received.
The interlocutor was not there.
[We are being attacked by a group of strangers!]
The person seeking help comes from a completely different place.
Apart from that institute, there is only one other partner with whom they could collaborate in that critical situation.
In other words, they were the source of support for Nanakamado's rebellion plan.
[I repeat, this is the Atsugi base!]
It was the Atsugi American military base where the talented troops were stationed, which was supposed to be the side that was supposed to provide support.
[We are being attacked by a group of strangers! I urgently ask for help!]
A cry of despair shook the atmosphere in the room that was supposed to have surrendered with a fever of restlessness.
[The Japanese skill corps was wiped out! What are those brats?]
[They're coming, they're coming! The door will break!]
Behind the transmission, the sound of metal being struck began to rumble irregularly. It sounded like someone was playing the drums recklessly, ignoring efficiency and regularity.
Of course, the first thing that ran through Nazumi's mind was "Colorless", but something wasn't right.
(Did he drive to neighboring Atsugi Prefecture? What about the children?)
That doubt created an unpleasant hum in Nazumi's heart that he had never felt before... even when he was fighting with all his might against the "Red King" Unno Yutaka or the strange monster "Colorless King".
A whisper, similar to the feeling you get when you turn something over.
Meanwhile, the level of panic on the other end of the communication rose through the roof.
[The radar site that fell due to lightning has been restarted! The Hoigaku moves on its own!]
[You're an Idiot!]
[Is he! That color "green"...]
The voice stopped suddenly.
A sudden silence descended upon the command post.
The chief engineer and the engineers were stunned.
For them everything is over. That was the end.
However, for the ''Blue King'' Somei Nazumi, it was different.
Now that things were being cleaned up, something was starting to happen.
There was no point in giving up.
There was another player who turned the entire board over.
[..."Green"..."]
A voice came from the speaker, as if in response to Nazumi accidentally spilling it.
[Where?]
Nazumi felt the voice, or rather the medium, and felt the pressure running through his entire body.
The voice was not only emitted from the large communication device with which the chief engineer communicated.
It was broadcast from all the communication devices installed in the command post.
(No way, this communication... is not allowed!)
The established order will be ruined.
Faced with so much certainty, Nazumi felt lost for the first time.
It seems like he couldn't understand it all at once.
[Miya-chan, where are you?]
The voice that reached him was that of a small child.
[Whoever knows, answer me... I am...]
That voice said the decisive words.
[Oh... "Green King"...]
The turmoil of that day had barely begun.

That day, Daikaku Kokujoji had been sitting in a certain subcommittee meeting since morning.
He didn't want to get caught up in other things on a day when they had an important dispatch for the King and people with abilities, but as long as he has one foot in this world, there are many duties that he has to fulfill. This is especially true if it is an important official mission, such as accompanying and escorting the president of the ruling party.
The reason for the subcommittee meeting was a motion to punish a member of the ruling party for misconduct, and since the conclusion of the punishment was clear, the decision was made quickly. However, after that resolution, a private draft of the statutes circulated within the party. After reading it, the president wordlessly handed it to Kokujoji, who was standing next to him.
Kokujoji was secretly surprised as he looked at the document, wondering what the escort was doing.
"Security system project for party members."
The agenda was trivial, but extremely important. The party wanted to officially incorporate "Tokijikuin", who had been treated as an outside collaborator, into a part of the party organization.
In recent times, the ruling party administration has finally entered a period of stability and is now negotiating with the General Headquarters on the path to complete peace and withdrawal from the occupation. At this time, the opaque relationship with private organizations such as the pre-war extra-parliamentary group needs to be clarified. There is no point in trying to expand the strength of the party.
Even within the organization, the words were full of artificial rhetoric, saying that the organization would gain more success if he became an official official.
When Kokujoji turned his attention to him, the president let out a ridiculous snort and shook his head slightly. In other words, it is a surprise move by a rival faction within the ruling party that he has no knowledge of. With the ruling party's dominance in the political situation almost firmly established, the rival factions seem to have had enough leeway to carry out unnecessary political maneuvers.
The purpose of the recruitment must have been to take control of "Tokijikuin", who had been controlling the political world from the position of bodyguard, formally incorporating them into the ruling party. Even within the dominant faction led by the president, there are many who wish to use "Tokijikuin", who possesses supernatural powers, more conveniently. As the opposing factions discuss the draft, they will compile these requests and turn them into the opinion of the entire party. If it becomes the will of the entire party, it cannot be ignored, and if it happens, it will be an opportunity to undermine the president and take control of the party... There may be other considerations.
He can't believe it was a coincidence that they submitted the draft that same day. It's like they're going to put pressure on the leader of "Tokijikuin", who will prioritize protecting the president over a serious case of talented people, that they're going to put him on the table and pressure him into submission?
(I see, humans are truly insatiable creatures.)
Kokujoji was smiling like it was no one else's business.
(Although only three years have passed since the destruction and death that tore the country apart.)
Until now, "Tokijikuin" has tried to avoid being absorbed by its greed and stay out of political conflicts. However, the trend of the times may gradually make it no longer possible to do so.
In the future, regardless of whether they are involved or not, as the world stabilizes, interference from those who desire power will increase. The situation in which they are becoming the reason for the conflict demonstrates this.
Power moves people and creates a flow just by being there.
It is like a cluster of stars that he expanded through his daily training.
(I never expected the beginning to appear so quickly.)
That draft is only a small part. The power that has been lost in the postwar chaos will become more visible as it settles. It's time to think about making a change.
The sensation of being faced with a proposal for which he had carefully searched for the answer invaded him.
The proposal is,
(How should we "Kings" be treated?)
Will it remain hidden in the background like before?
Or will it turn around and appear?
(If not, is there another way?)
Although it was a proposal, it did not seem that the direction would be easily determined.
After all, he didn't even recognize the faces of all the "Kings" who should be punished.
While he was lost in these thoughts,
Unexpectedly,
[Where?]
A voice came from the radio installed in the chamber.
Not that it was time, he didn't even have time to think about it.
It is as if the proposals he has discarded, such as caution, now face a harsh reality.
(......!)
An almost physical shock, incomparable to the moment he saw the draft, passed through Kokujoji.
Hearing it for the first time, perhaps a child's voice, unleashed a power unique to them that no one else can use.
[Miya-chan, where are you?]
(You, no way.)
In the noisy chamber, only Kokujoji had a hunch about the situation.
Even when the staff hastily fiddled with the radio switch, the voices continued to come out. Before he knew it, all the speakers inside and outside the chamber were emitting the same loud voice that no one else could stop.
[Whoever knows, answer me... I am...]
(I guess everything is ready... now, finally!)
An indescribable feeling of euphoria warmed Kokujoji's heart.
It was no longer worth hiding it.
Everything will appear as it is.
What will this bring for him, for them and for this country?
He must accept this along with them and confirm it.
He stopped doubting a long time ago.
Since that comes, he will accept it with determination.
Suddenly, Kokujoji stood up to say the decisive word.
[Oh... "Green King"...]
(The last one... "Green King"!)
He had to go to them.
In order to determine if it is a desired miracle or not.
Or, to turn it into a desired miracle...
"Kokujoji-kun."
After hearing the familiar title, the president finally turned to look at him.
Kokujoji, who received his gaze, spoke with a smile.
"I will respond after considering the draft."
The president noticed that the man who answered seemed to have grown larger.
He is not big enough to be belittled and repressed.
He was so big that he naturally looked up and turned his back to him.
The burly man took a deep breath and the entire assembly hall burst into loud applause.
"To those in the House of Representatives who want us, know this! We are both a sword and a flame! You can see the full extent of this, so prepare to swallow it all!"
Before the lingering effects of the impact from his cheeks to his stomach wore off, his large figure had disappeared from the chamber.
This time, the remaining president smiled as if it was no one else's business.

From above, two pods boomed as they ripped the upper stratosphere of Copper-9. Light from the rockets, making the clouds glow hot blue and electrifying the unstable atmosphere. As the pods split the cloud cover in their descent, lightning flickered and cracked, striking one of the pods. The surge in power fried the automatic navigation systems, and the craft hurtled off course towards Camp 98.7. Crashing down, it left a trail of destruction and fire in its wake, setting the forest ablaze and leaving a gouge in the ground that ran for several hundred yards before the craft eventually came to a halt. The pod was unlike anything they had ever seen, complex ivory plating with intricate gold designs weaving throughout, the exposed areas revealing an almost muscular conglomeration of black wires that pulsed blue light towards the center of the craft. Upon the side were several logos, of which one V would recognize as her own parent company logo of JCJenson. The others involved were Faro Automated Solutions Inc, Far Zenith Corp, and Miriam Technologies.... As the two dissasembly drones would draw close, the pod let off a shrill tone and an automated warning. "WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! PROXIMITY SENSORS ACTIVE, SHIP IS STABILIZING, DO NOT APPROACH THE STASIS POD UNTIL INSTRUCTED OR RISK MALFUNCTION. PLEASE ENJOY OUR MESSAGE TO THE VALUED CUSTOMER ABOUT YOUR NEW GALAXTIC PAL WHILE YOU WAIT- Uh, is this thing on? This is testing log number uhhh... I've lost count... of project Gemini modelSD: B1-7A PIN: #LK-101, "Beta" or just B, I dont care... Okay... The pod is cooling down right now, but once it's stable, it should scan the environment and inhabitants around it so it can best modify itself to the environment and fit in, I know it might be odd but it will try to copy someone it sees but dont worry, there is a customization setting in the pod if you wish to change her appearance, not that ot will matter uh... Look, this is our last shot. What with earth gone and everything. I've installed various subfunction protocols into two sister drones. The other should be nearby. This one posseses: Minerva, Hephestus, Apollo, and Hades. The robot will tell you what those do, but uhm... She's designed to learn and adapt just as her sister unit A7-04 is, but specifically, she's much more attuned to it. Her sister unit is designed for combat and initial defense of this ones operations of study, terraforming and revitalizing. Make no mistake, though. B isn't defenseless. She is equipped with a highly advanced natite repair and re assimilation device and can construct weapons on her arms of which she knows two by default, but can learn more. The Specter Gauntlet High Energy plasma multitool cannon and the Specter Reaver blade arm. If there was any error during transport, I'd expect something to function incorrectly, and I can't help you. If the unit is severely damaged, return it to the pod for nanitic revitalization procedures to initiate a full system reboot and restore... I think that's it... good luck."
V watched the pod with a calculating gaze, one of her hands turned into a long blade and held out in front of J. They took in the words spoken to her, and their eyes narrowed. She didn't care what this was, they just didn't want it near J.
She remained at the ready, protective urge pulling at her every wire.

"Four Turtles & A Baby"
(TMNT BAYVERSE)
🐢 Chapter Four 🐢
It had been two months. Two long, but glorious months of raising the sweet baby girl who had captured all their hearts.
The brothers gathered in their underground lair, prepping for their nightly patrol. The smell of pizza lingered in the air. Raphael paced back and forth, his brow furrowed with concern. He kept glancing towards Thora, who sat playing with her oversized blocks in the corner. Her soft blonde hair was sticking up everywhere, a side effect of having just finished a two-hour nap.
Tumblr media
"I don’t like this," he said, scowling and folding his arms over his chest. "We can’t just leave her here. What if something happens?"
Leo was finishing up polishing his weapons. "C’mon, Raph... What could possibly happen? It’s just a night at home, no different than the last two dozen nights..."
Raphael was not amused. "It is different! Before, one of us has always been here. She’s just a kid, Leo. What if the Foot shows up?"
"What? You think they're just hiding out in the tunnels, waiting for us to leave so they can come kidnap her?"
"See? That shit right there is why I'm worried!" Raphael tossed his bag down. "That's it, I'm not going out!"
Leo rolled his eyes at his brother's unfounded paranoia. "She'll be fine, Raph. Now come on, we have a job to do."
Raphael glanced back to the corner of the room, but all he saw was an empty space amongst the blocks.
"Thora?"
On the opposite end of the room, Michaelangelo strode into view wearing a bulky, oversized jacket. He looked like he was whispering to it. Leonardo and Raphael both eyed him suspiciously. As he got closer, they could make out more of what he was saying:
"It’ll be super fun, like the best adventure ever! Think of it like the whole city as your secret playground."
Raphael's eyes widen. "Mikey...who are you talking to?"
Mikey jumped, chewing on his bottom lip, something he only did when he was trying to be sneaky. "What? Who? Nothing! I'm not doing anything!"
"What's with the jacket, twerp?"
"What, this? It's called style, broski. You should try it sometime."
Leo narrowed his eyes at his youngest brother. "Mikey..."
Michaelangelo sighed, slowly unbuttoning the jacket to reveal Thora strapped to the harness across his chest. Raphael's shoulders stiffened, a protective growl bubbling up from his throat.
"Are you out of your damn mind?! You’re not taking her out there on patrol!"
"But....what if she gets scared?"
"What if she gets hurt, or worse, because you do something stupid?"
Suddenly, Donatello walks in, holding a tablet and wearing his goggles. He's distracted and looking at the screen. "Guys, I just finished updating the new security system. Thora’s gonna be totally safe here."
Raph raises an eyebrow. "You mean the fancy-smancy camera thing you installed?"
"Not just a camera!" Donnie said, excitedly. "It’s a fully-integrated system! We can monitor everything from our phones!"
"Yeah, that sounds great, Don - MIKEY, IF YOU DONT PUT HER BACK DOWN, SO HELP ME..."
Splinter, who had been quietly observing from the shadows, stepped forward, hands clasped behind his back. He glanced cooly at Michaelangelo, who had been trying to sneak Thora into his duffel bag. With a lightning-fast flick of his tail, he hooked the collar of Thora's onsie and lowered her gently into his own arms.
"It is best that she stay here where it is safe. I will keep her company until you return."
Raphael visibly relaxes as Splinter cradles Thora, the worry on his face slowly fading.
"You sure, Sensei?" Leo asked. "She’s - "
Splinter held up a hand, his black eyes twinkling as a small smile grew beneath his gray whiskers. "I have grown quite fond of little Thora’s company. Besides, I possess ample knowledge of many fascinating tales and games with which to pass the time."
Raphael crosses his arms rebelliously but can’t suppress a slight smirk. He sighs, half-heartedly admitting defeat.
"Fine!" he grumbled. "But if the Foot show up, I’m dragging the whole team back here—nanny cam or no nanny cam."
..
They returned hours later to find Splinter asleep in his chair, the top of Thora's head peeking out from underneath a thick crocheted blanket. Donatello inched forward and a quite snoring confirmed that Thora was also asleep.
"See, Raphael?" Leo whispered. "She's fine, just like I said she would be."
"It still makes me uncomfortable to leave her," Raph replied.
"Nobody's gonna hurt her, bro. Not on our watch. I promise."
"I know, Leo. Because if anyone ever tries... I'll kill them myself."
