刘宇宁 《让酒》 Passing of Wine ENG SUB

So I decided to do another translation slash subtitling post cuz my previous attempt at it went surprisingly well 😍 (thanks for all the love and support guyz 😘)

I couldn't find an English subbed version of Liu Yu Ning's 让酒 on YouTube or online so I decided to translate and subtitle my own 😂 Mainly because it's my favourite song of all time but also cuz of Liu Yu Ning and Qin Hao 😬 sshhh don't judge 😛 Hope this was useful for anyone who's interested in what the lyrics mean 👀

I've also taken some liberties with the title translation cuz it doesn't quite translate into English? The word for word translation of 让酒 would be 'give wine' or alternatively 'inviting someone for drinks' but I went with 'Passing of Wine' in the end because it fits better context wise - what with Wu Xie passing on the torch to Li Cu with the whole eliminating the Wang Clan plan and Wu Xie literally giving Li Cu his share of liquor in ShaHai - Anyways, hope you guys enjoy my interpretation/translation~

书卷一梦 can be translated as A Dream within the Scroll.

Synopsis from MDL:

What would you do if you accidentally cross over into the world of a script, and become the heroine who is abandoned and abused to death by the villainous hero?

Song Xiao Yu does not need to think about it. Without a doubt, she would run away as far as she can. However, no matter how hard she tries, the "plot" will always push her to the hero, Nan Heng, and stage one famous scene in the script, after another...

In this world of a script, there are also countless characters that have been "set" for a long time. Some people are trapped in the deep palace, some are trapped in aristocratic families, some are tired of competition amongst women, and some are running away from those in power.
