I have this very vivid memory of going to the aquarium in primary school and hanging to every word the guide said. While two weeks isn’t long enough to see it all, it is certainly a good amount of time to see the highlights.

In this post you will find everything you need to know to plan your visit to Australia. This is a highlights tour of the country and will show you how much you can fit in with just two weeks.

If you have more time to spend in Australia, consider some of these great destinations as extensions to your trip.

Two Weeks in Australia

While you could easily spend two months exploring all Australia has to offer, this trip is designed as a highlights itinerary to see the country for the first time.

Days 1-4 – Sydney (Day trip to the Blue Mountains)

Days 4-7 – Melbourne (Day trips to Philip Island & Great Ocean Road)

Days 7-10 – Cairns (Day trips to Great Barrier Reef & Port Douglas)

Days 10-14 – Alice Springs (Day trips to Uluru and Kata Tjuta)

Arriving in Sydney

The first stop in your itinerary is Sydney, easily Australia’s most iconic city. While it is not the capital (but often confused for it), we could say Sydney is the cultural capital of Australia.

Once you have settled into your accommodation, waste no time in getting to know this city. Make your way down to Sydney’s famous harbour, where you can marvel at the Sydney Opera House and the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge.

On your second day in Sydney you might consider an early morning bridge climb to see Sydney from above. This will give you an unforgettable 360-degree panoramas of the city and is best enjoyed at sunrise or sunset for a soft glow over the city.

Day Trip to the Blue Mountains

On the third day of your visit to Australia, take a tour or a rental car out to see the beautiful Blue Mountains. It is less than an hour to drive, so if you have the budget for a car this is the best way to see the mountains on your own agenda.

A trip to the Blue Mountains deserves a day in full. There are some great short hikes to take in the scenery, as well as some great country towns to explore. This is where you will get a real feel for the Australian countryside culture.

Melbourne

Day Trip to Philip Island

After a busy day in the city of Melbourne, it is time for an escape to the wilder side of Australia. Philip Island is a short 1.5 hour drive from Melbourne and is best visited by rental car. Take the Monash Freeway (M1) to the Cranbourne exit, and turn into the South Gippsland Highway (M420). Follow this route to the Bass Highway (A420), through Grantville and Bass, then onto Phillip Island Road (B420) to San Remo, over the bridge onto Phillip Island.

If you can’t rent a car or would prefer not to, there are a few options to get to Philip Island by public transport. You can travel by bus or by combining train + ferry. These options take a lot longer, so you may want to consider joining a day tour from Melbourne to maximise your time on the island.

Day Trip to The Great Ocean Road

On the next day, wake up early and depart Melbourne for another day trip. This time to The Great Ocean Road, one of Australia’s most talked about day trips and an essential trip while staying in Melbourne!

The drive is 2.5 hours from Melbourne and the scenery en route is priceless. On this drive you will get a real feel for the Australian coastline and beach culture.

Of course you can’t do the drive without finishing at the 12 apostles, one of the most iconic spots in Australia.

Cairns

After your time in Melbourne and surrounds, board a flight from Melbourne to Cairns. The flight will take a little over 3 hours and plant you at the very top of Australia in the North of Queensland.

Queensland is the quintessential sunny state and Cairns will be your base to explore the Great Barrier Reef and beautiful coastal towns.

Once you arrive, take the time to book tours to the reef if you haven’t already done so in advance. Enjoy a relaxing day after all the travel and get ready for a day full of adventure tomorrow!

Two Weeks in Australia: The Ultimate Itinerary

So you’ve got a trip planned for two weeks in Australia. Now what? Well the good news is you have arrived at the right place. Having grown up in Australia and spending a lot of my life exploring my home country, I’ve got an endless list of suggestions to make your trip a memorable one.

While two weeks isn’t long enough to see it all, it is certainly a good amount of time to see the highlights.

In this post you will find everything you need to know to plan your visit to Australia. This is a highlights tour of the country and will show you how much you can fit in with just two weeks.

Two Weeks in Australia

While you could easily spend two months exploring all Australia has to offer, this trip is designed as a highlights itinerary to see the country for the first time.

Days 1-4 – Sydney (Day trip to the Blue Mountains)

Days 4-7 – Melbourne (Day trips to Philip Island & Great Ocean Road)

Days 7-10 – Cairns (Day trips to Great Barrier Reef & Port Douglas)

Arriving in Sydney

The first stop in your itinerary is Sydney, easily Australia’s most iconic city. While it is not the capital (but often confused for it), we could say Sydney is the cultural capital of Australia.

Once you have settled into your accommodation, waste no time in getting to know this city. Make your way down to Sydney’s famous harbour, where you can marvel at the Sydney Opera House and the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge.

On your second day in Sydney you might consider an early morning bridge climb to see Sydney from above. This will give you an unforgettable 360-degree panoramas of the city and is best enjoyed at sunrise or sunset for a soft glow over the city.

Day Trip to the Blue Mountains

On the third day of your visit to Australia, take a tour or a rental car out to see the beautiful Blue Mountains. It is less than an hour to drive, so if you have the budget for a car this is the best way to see the mountains on your own agenda.

A trip to the Blue Mountains deserves a day in full. There are some great short hikes to take in the scenery, as well as some great country towns to explore. This is where you will get a real feel for the Australian countryside culture.

Melbourne

As you land in Melbourne after the short 90 minute flight, hop on the Skybus for a quick trip into town. If there are more than two of you, it is often cheaper to jump in an uber but if you’re travelling alone, the SkyBus is a steal.

Once you’ve settled in to your accommodation, be sure to wander around the Colonial city of Melbourne at night. Pop by the Yarra River and you will quickly be enamoured with this city.

On the next day be sure to find Melbourne’s famous coffee scene and if you’re hungry, you’ll get a great brunch in Degraves Street. Melbourne is a city best explored on foot and when you tire of walking, trams in the city centre are completely free.

Day Trip to Philip Island

After a busy day in the city of Melbourne, it is time for an escape to the wilder side of Australia. Philip Island is a short 1.5 hour drive from Melbourne and is best visited by rental car. Take the Monash Freeway (M1) to the Cranbourne exit, and turn into the South Gippsland Highway (M420). Follow this route to the Bass Highway (A420), through Grantville and Bass, then onto Phillip Island Road (B420) to San Remo, over the bridge onto Phillip Island.

If you can’t rent a car or would prefer not to, there are a few options to get to Philip Island by public transport. You can travel by bus or by combining train + ferry. These options take a lot longer, so you may want to consider joining a day tour from Melbourne to maximise your time on the island.

Day Trip to The Great Ocean Road

On the next day, wake up early and depart Melbourne for another day trip. This time to The Great Ocean Road, one of Australia’s most talked about day trips and an essential trip while staying in Melbourne!

The drive is 2.5 hours from Melbourne and the scenery en route is priceless. On this drive you will get a real feel for the Australian coastline and beach culture.

Of course you can’t do the drive without finishing at the 12 apostles, one of the most iconic spots in Australia.

Cairns

After your time in Melbourne and surrounds, board a flight from Melbourne to Cairns. The flight will take a little over 3 hours and plant you at the very top of Australia in the North of Queensland.

Queensland is the quintessential sunny state and Cairns will be your base to explore the Great Barrier Reef and beautiful coastal towns.

Le pompe Vectra M1 ed L1 sono le due pompe di risalita proposte sul mercato da Ecotech Marine.

Noi abbiamo rimediato la più piccola Vectra M1 e ne abbiamo misurato prevalenza, portata, consumo e cos(fi). In verità essendo i dati di targa incredibili abbiamo dovuto abbozzare un po’ sulla prevalenza ed abbiamo misurato la sola prevalenza massima. Infatti essendo la Vectra M1 una pompa elettronica con controller digitale esterno dedicato, abbiamo misurato tutti i valori per ognuno dei 12 step incrementali.

Per la prevalenza ci siamo serviti del solito perfetto metodo statico, anche se non è stato facile, e dopo vi faremo vedere come abbiamo fatto. Per la portata abbiamo utilizzato il misuratore di flusso DigiFlow 6710M e per il consumo abbiamo usato l’RCE PM600.

La prima cosa che ci ha colpito nella Vectra M1 è la qualità delle plastiche, dell’assemblaggio e delle finiture. Notevoli i dati tecnici dichiarati, ad un prezzo di 399 euro, alto in valore assoluto ma in linea con le prestazioni dichiarate.

La Vectra M1 presenta sulla carta una efficienza energetica pari 93,75 litri per ogni watt consumato. Una efficienza economica pari a 18,8 litri al secondo per euro e quindi un valore di riferimento pari a 2.437.500 l*cm/h.

Al costo di 399 euro acquistiamo quindi, sulla carta, una delle migliori pompe in circolazione. Una pompa elettronica, modernissima, controllabile sia dal suo controller che tramite ReefLink (recensione). Buone, ma non buonissime, l’efficienza energetica ed economica. Abbiamo visto di meglio, anche se non a questi livelli di prevalenza e portata. Sicuramente, ad oggi, è la pompa più potente che abbiamo testato.

Ci piace molto l’idea che sia possibile acquistare un modulo di backup separato senza dover quindi acquistare un gruppo di continuità, che comunque consiglieremmo a priori.

La costruzione

La pompa è davvero bella. semplice. In livrea bianca con inserti blu quasi elettrico. Il massimo fra quanto visto sino ad oggi.

All’interno della confezione si trovano la pompa, il trasformatore, i cavi ed il controller. Mancano del tutto i portagomma. L’ingresso dell’acqua è da un pollice e l’uscita da 3/4 di pollice. Rispettivamente 19 e 25 mm. La pompa viene quindi proposta per essere direttamente collegata a tubi in PVC.

Abbiamo subito proceduto a smontare la pompa per vedere come fosse fatta la sua girante.

Costruita davvero molto bene non possiamo a meno di notare diverse analogie con la girante della Waveline DC6000 (recensione). A parte questo la girante è costruita benissimo e tutto sembra molto ben dimensionato. La girante è costruita in plastica gialla, un particolare che avevamo giudicato strano quando recensimmo la DC6000, ma che a quanto pare sembra essere abbastanza normale.

La girante è molto bella, appare solida e ben fatta.

La tipologia di girante in uso ci fa già pensare ad un funzionamento silenzioso, cosa che vedremo essere assolutamente vero.

Il controller delle Vectra M1

Il controller è quello classico e già visto di tutta la serie di pompe Ecotech Marine. Il potenziometro centrale serve per aumentare e diminuire la coppia di portata e prevalenza. I tre tasti mode, set ed option/pwr servono invece rispettivamente a:

Mode: necessario per cambiare le modalità di utilizzo della pompa che sono tre. Velocità costante, alimentazione e velocità bloccata (Speed Lock). In pratica in velocità costante si può agire con il potenziometro per variare portata e prevalenza, mentre in velocità bloccata viene disabilitato il potenziometro. Carina la modalità alimentazione che abbassa la portata della pompa ad un valore che può essere predeterminato. In questo modo è possibile creare una portata pari a zero senza che si svuoti l’acquario.

Set: serve per impostare i vari parametri.

Option/pwr: spegne la pompa.

Poi esistono varie combinazioni dei pulsanti per impostare tutti i parametri. Per i quali si rimanda ovviamente al manuale di istruzioni.

La pompa può poi funzionare in modalità Closed Loop, ovvero circuito chiuso. In questo modo la si può utilizzare come fosse una Vortech ed è impostabile in tre tipologie di funzionamento:

Laguna: Flusso mediamente elevato con poche differenze fra minimo e massimo. Simula le correnti in una laguna.

Reef Crest: Flusso meno elevato ma con vistose oscillazioni fra minimo e massimo. Simula le correnti sul Reef.

Gyre: alterna valori minimi e massimi.

Durante l’uso il potenziometro del controller si accende con il colore associato al modo impostato. I led bianchi superiori si accendono in base all’impostazione della portata.

Inoltre associandolo al ReefLink è possibile utilizzare il programma EcoSmart Live per poter impostare la pompa in diverse modalità.

Le nostre misurazioni

Prova di Prevalenza

La prima prova che abbiamo fatto è stata quella di misurare la prevalenza. Come sapete la prevalenza è la capacità della pompa di elevare l’acqua sopra una certa quota. La prova da fare normalmente è semplicissima. Questa volta però l’operazione è stata abbastanza complicata dato che la prevalenza dichiarata era di ben 6,5 metri. Per questo non siamo riusciti a misurarla per ogni step intermedio, come siamo soliti fare.

Come potete vedere nella fotografia precedente abbiamo bloccato il tubo al terrazzo al secondo piano. Abbiamo acceso la pompa alla massima potenza, coadiuvati da un aiutante d’eccezione, mia figlia Arianna. Abbiamo atteso 10 minuti prima che la pompa si stabilizzasse e poi abbiamo effettuato la misurazione. Per farlo siamo andati sul terrazzo ed abbiamo applicato una fascetta di plastica nel punto in cui l’acqua arrivava al punto massimo. Stessa cosa abbiamo fato nel secchio con il livello dell’acqua. Ricordiamo che la Prevalenza è la differenza fra le due quote.

Abbiamo quindi scollegato il tubo, lo abbiamo steso in terra ed abbiamo misurato la distanza fra le due fascette.

Abbiamo quindi misurato una prevalenza massima pari a 6,1 metri contro i 6,5 metri dichiarati. Nel grafico superiore l’unico dato misurato è stato quello massimo. Tutti gli altri dati, in rosso, sono stati stimati solo per dare una idea (molto approssimata). Avremmo in effetti potuto misurare almeno la prevalenza minima, ma quando ci siamo accorti della mancanza avevamo già restituito la pompa.

Lo scarto fra prevalenza dichiarata e misurata è quindi pari al 6%. Un risultato davvero notevole viste le grandezze in gioco.

Prove di Portata

Misurare la portata è stato semplice grazie al misuratore di portata DigiSavant DIGIFLOW 6710M. Dapprima abbiamo proceduto a collegare i nostri tubi di raccordo al nostro misuratore di portata, come potete vedere nella fotografia successiva, dove Arianna ci ha aiutato a non allagare il bagno.

I risultati così ottenuti erano molto al di sotto di quelli dichiarati. Per cui abbiamo cercato di avvicinare misuratore ed uscita dalla pompa, utilizzando il minor numero di raccordi possibile. Quello che vedete sotto è il meglio che siamo riusciti a fare. Considerate che anche il nostro misuratore è da 3/4 di pollice come il bocchettone di uscita della Vectra M1.

La misurazione viene espressa in litri al minuto. Quindi è sufficiente moltiplicare il risultato per 60 per ottenere i litri per ora.

Ovviamente vi facciamo presente che la misurazione è valida all’interno delle condizioni in cui abbiamo eseguite le misurazioni. Il tubo di collegamento così concepito potrebbe avere indotto delle perdite nel sistema.

Abbiamo misurato la portata per ogni step di potenza in modo da avere una distribuzione completa della portata.

La portata massima è stata di 4.944 l/h (ovvero 82,4 l/m*60), ben al di sotto dei 7.500 l/h dichiarati. La pompa ha quindi raggiunto il 66% del valore dichiarato, nelle condizioni del test. Un valore un po’ basso rispetto ai dati dichiarati, ma se andate a vedere tutte le nostre recensioni, sono state davvero poche le pompe che ci hanno sorpreso sui valori di portata. E per questo possiamo considerare il 66% come un valore appena al di sotto della media. Anche perché abbiamo avuto modo di provare anche pompe con portata inferiore al 50% del dichiarato…

Di seguito tutte le misure fatte:

Quando dovete impiegare una pompa di risalita fate attenzione ai seguenti aspetti che possono abbassare, anche drasticamente, la portata. Utilizzate il portagomma più grande che c’è in dotazione. Utilizzate sempre un tubo che sia sufficientemente largo. Il tubo deve essere più corto possibile e fare meno curve a 90° gradi possibili. Altrimenti la portata attesa diminuirà ancora più drasticamente.

Curva Caratteristica

La curva caratteristica è quella specifica curva che unisce i vari valori di portata e le varie prevalenze. Non è possibile senza strumentazione adeguata ricostruire tale curva. Inoltre in questo caso specifico era molto complicato misurare la prevalenza per ogni impostazione del potenziometro. Così noi ci siamo accontentati di unire i due punti estremi di portata e prevalenza. Sia quelli misurati che quelli di progetto.

Si può così vedere come a sinistra, dalla parte della portata la differenza sia ben più ampia che rispetto alla prevalenza. L’area sottesa fra le due linee è quello che dovremmo aver avuto e che invece viene perso. Ovviamente la curva di progetto è quella più in alto.

Teoricamente se voi vi metteste alla prevalenza che vi serve, ad esempio 300 cm, dovreste tirare una riga al valore 300 di prevalenza, e dove questa linea incrocia la linea caratteristica andare a leggere il corrispondente valore di portata. Con la Ecotech Marine Vectra M1 in corrispondenza di 300 cm di prevalenza dovreste avere una portata stimata di circa 2.500 l/h contro i 4.000 dichiarati. In acquario la situazione sarà ancora peggiore perché avrete anche l’attrito del tubo e le curve da considerare.

Prova di Consumo Energetico

La rilevazione del consumo istantaneo è stato reso possibile grazie all’utilizzo del comodo strumento RCE PM600 che è in grado di misurare anche il Cos(fi) (o sfasamento). Il risultato viene fornito direttamente in watt.

L’andamento del consumo è abbastanza lineare all’inizio del suo percorso. Poi nella parte mediana superiore presenta un salto rimanendo abbastanza vicino nelle ultime tre misurazioni. Il consumo va da un minimo di 25 watt ad un massimo di 89,6 watt. Il consumo massimo dichiarato della Vectra M1 è pari ad 80 watt. Secondo le nostre misurazioni siamo a circa un 12% oltre il valore dichiarato.

Qui di seguito tutte le misurazioni per ogni step di potenza.

Grazie all’RCE PM600 abbiamo anche misurato il cos(fi) alla massima portata e prevalenza e che abbiamo visto essere pari 0,93 a 89,59 watt di consumo. Questo ci dice che il magnete è sicuramente al neodimio, altrimenti il cos(fi) sarebbe stato molto più basso.

Alla massima potenza quindi il 93% della corrente è quella attiva, ovvero 83,6 watt, che è quello che paghiamo in bolletta. La parte di corrente apparente, i 6 watt in questo caso dati dalla differenza 89,6-83,6 watt, non vengono conteggiati dal contatore elettrico domestico, e quindi non andremo a pagare maggiormente per questo fatto. Questo fatto avviene per qualsiasi pompa.

Considerando un consumo pari a 83,6 watt, ed un costo dell’energia pari a 0,27 euro a kwh, potremmo impiegare questa pompa continuativamente per un anno intero, alla massima potenza, con un consumo pari a circa 732 kwh, da cui discende un costo pari a 198 euro all’anno, o 16,5 euro al mese.

Data la dimensione della pompa, e per mancanza di uno spazio adeguato, non è stato possibile effettuare la nostra usuale prova di rumore. Possiamo confermarvi però che la pompa ci è sembrata molto silenziosa. Percettibile il solo sibilo elettrico alla massima potenza.

Tiriamo le somme

La pompa elettronica regolabile è una delle cose più belle che si possa avere in sump, per tantissimi motivi. La semplicità di poter variare la potenza per adattarsi alle condizioni dell’acquario è secondo me impagabile.

Ad esempio quando si cambia l’acqua in un acquario senza setto divisorio in sump, si può abbassare la portata della pompa in modo da avere un minor scambio acquario-sump. In questo modo si può così togliere acqua dall’acquario senza per questo dover spegnere la pompa di risalita. Infatti abbassando la portata della pompa di risalita il livello della sump tende ad alzarsi e quello in acquario ad abbassarsi, ed in questo modo asportando l’acqua dall’acquario non vi è il rischio di lasciare le pompe a secco.

Purtroppo se si ha una sump con divisorio questo giochino non risulta possibile.

Inoltre dal punto di vista della sicurezza avere una pompa a bassa tensione è un enorme passo avanti, che speriamo possa estendersi a tutte le pompe in acquario, per via della maggior sicurezza che può dare una pompa a basso voltaggio.

La pagina delle conclusioni è davvero piena di materiale, anche grazie al confronto che andremo a fare con pompe simili di cui abbiamo misurato le prestazioni..

Prima di tutto vediamo la tabella riepilogativa delle prestazioni della pompa nei vari step di potenza, che riportano prevalenza, portata, consumo, efficienza energetica ed efficienza economica. Il valore di riferimento è ovviamente utile per confrontare questa pompa con le altre. Tutti i valori di prevalenza sono stimati a parte l’ultimo da 610 cm che invece è stato misurato.

Il confronto con le altre pompe

Ma ancora più interessante è la seguente tabella dove sono andato ad inserire i valori misurati di altre pompe, Eheim, Tunze, Sicce, Corallinea, e Waveline che abbiamo avuto modo di testare, come potete leggere nella nostra pagina delle recensioni. ordinate per quello che abbiamo definito essere il valore di riferimento della pompa ovvero il prodotto della portata per la prevalenza diviso 2. Ottenendo in questo modo l’area sottesa dalle due grandezze.

Così abbiamo potuto fare un confronto omogeneo (In rosso abbiamo evidenziato i valori stimati e non misurati). Non saranno valori perfetti, ma crediamo che siano sufficientemente credibili ai fini del confronto che ci siamo prefissati.

Nella tabella abbiamo riportato i valori di alcune pompe testate su DaniReef nel tempo. Specialmente le ultime quattro pompe a portata variabile, la Tunze 1073.50, la Corallinea BQ5000, la Waveline DC6000 e la Vectra M1.

Dalla tabella si vede che dal punto di vista economico, ovvero rispetto alla portata generata per singolo euro la pompa Corallinea conviene sempre. Per quello che riguarda l’efficienza economica, considerando i soli valori massimi, conviene la Waveline DC6000. E’ anche vero che con portata e prevalenza paragonabile, fra lo step fra 6 e 7 della Vectra, i valori sono assolutamente comparabili.

Quello che cambia molto è che con la Vectra M1 ci si possa spingere molto oltre i valori delle altre pompe.

Nel costo dell’energia elettrica annuale la Waveline primeggia, riuscendo in breve tempo a far recuperare la differenza di costo con altre soluzioni. La Vectra è leggermente più costosa nel costo di esercizio rispetto alla Waveline ma come detto può spingere molto di più.

Rapporto con i dati dichiarati

Andiamo a vedere ora la confidenza con i dati dichiarati dalla casa costruttrice.

Prevalenza

La misura della massima prevalenza ha uno scostamento poco più alto del 10% rispetto a quanto dichiarato. Tutto sommato un valore più che accettabile.

Portata

Come abbiamo visto nelle nostre recensioni precedenti, quasi nessuna pompa mantiene le promesse per quello che riguarda la portata. Anche la Vectra purtroppo non fa eccezione. E nelle condizioni del test che avete visto abbiamo una perdita del 34%. Per altro, come dico sempre, bisogna giudicare la pompa per le sue performance non tanto per quelle dichiarate.

Consumo Energetico

Il consumo energetico è maggiore del 12% circa. Se lo considerassimo al netto dello sfasamento invece sarebbe più alto del 4,5%.

Corrispondenza rispetto ai dati dichiarati

Infine, giusto come termine di paragone, possiamo dare un valore di corrispondenza rispetto ai dati dichiarati dalla casa per quello che riguarda portata, prevalenza e consumo.

Conclusioni

Il valore di riferimento della Ecotech Marine Vectra M1 alla massima potenza è pari a 1.507.920 l*cm/s, dove per confronto il valore di riferimento dichiarato è pari a 2.437.500. Ricordiamo che il valore di riferimento è rappresentato dall’area sottesa dai valori di portata e prevalenza, semplificati dai loro valori massimi. In pratica andremo a fare l’operazione di (portata x prevalenza/2).

Anche per la Vectra M1 c’è una perdita sensibile rispetto ai dati dichiarati, come abbiamo appena visto nelle tabelle precedenti. Ma, a mio modesto avviso, non dovremmo considerare la pompa solo rispetto alla confidenza coi dati dichiarati.

Dobbiamo considerare quello che può esprimere la pompa. Ed i valori misurati ci restituiscono una pompa in linea con la concorrenza, dove i valori dichiarati sono sempre abbastanza lontani da quelli reali. Una buona efficienza tecnica ed un consumo in linea con le altre pompe. Dove eccelle è nella potenza che esprime. Come lei nessuno mai fino ad oggi. Potentissima e con un consumo neanche troppo alto per quello che esprime. Inoltre ci è apparsa anche molto silenziosa.

Il costo della Vectra M1 è alto, 399 euro non sono certo pochi. Ma se vi servono ampie portate e alta prevalenza è pressoché perfetta. Con 399 euro potete acquistare una pompa a bassa tensione, programmabile su 12 step incrementali di potenza, con la possibilità di fermarla per alimentare pesci e coralli, arrivando a bloccare lo scambio acquario sump.

La costruzione, in materiale plastico, è spettacolare, la pompa appare essere solida e robusta. La pompa viene importata e distribuita da Reefline, che quindi si occuperà anche della garanzia. Garantendovi una ottima assistenza.

Une dame requin se met à faire des petits toute seule

DANS l’étude (publiée le 16 janvier par Scientific Reports) qui lui est consacrée, elle est appelée F1, pour « Femelle 1 », mais son vrai nom est Leonie. Leonie est un requin-zèbre. Capturée dans la nature, elle est arrivée en 1999 au Reef HQ Aquarium de Townsville, en Australie. Là, elle a été installée dans le même aquarium que M1 (« Mâle 1 ») mais leur cohabitation n’a alors pas donné de descendance, peut-être parce que Leonie n’avait pas encore atteint sa maturité sexuelle – laquelle intervient à partir de l’âge de 7 ans chez ces poissons ovipares qui peuvent vivre plus de trente-cinq ans en captivité. Les deux individus ont ensuite été séparés avant d’être réunis de nouveau en 2006. Et, pendant l’été austral 2008-2009 (qui correspond à notre hiver), cinq petits requins sont nés, qui allaient être suivis d’une vingtaine d’autres au cours des années suivantes.
