To all wondering why Essek is shown in the preview, maybe read the article here and you will learn that the team wanted to expand the machinations both happening in the Dwendalian Empire and in the Kryn Dynasty, and, obviously, Essek's journey in all of this. Which means we will see things that weren't shown or said in the actual campaign. They have done a similar process for some characters or events in TLoVM. So it's possible that we get some Essek stuff in season 1 to explain the character but also to get more depth to the tension between the two nations. Also, slight reminder that the animated series are adaptions of hundreds of hours of a TTRPG into episodes of around 25 mins each. Stuff will be kept, but a lot more will be removed and/or rearranged completely to better fit the medium. (and we've been told by the cast that it will be even more apparent with M9 animated) Nevertheless, I'm so excited to see what this is all about and also excited for the news we will get at this year's San Diego Comic Con. I just can't wait!

Eclipse has been working with the military since he was 17. He trained long and hard to become one of the military's best agents. He soon went on to perform solo missions, seeking to discover and retrieve secrets from the enemies.

He was one of two members of his division who could pilot Metal Gear Nyx, but once discovering the true intent for Metal Gear, he vanished without a trace.

Despite his tough-guy demeanour, there's subtle kindness and softness tucked away within. He always looks out for those that mean a lot to him and will put himself in the firing line to save them.

You can also find him playing Tetris on his Gameboy, which he carries with him at all times.

Codename: Echo Real Name: Victor Brighting Age: 46 Weapon(s): PSG1 (rarely used) Codec Frequency: 141.62

Echo is Eclipse's handler. He'll always be Eclipse's main point of contact. The pair have been working together since the late 80's, when Eclipse first joined the military. When Eclipse disappeared, Echo was reassigned to another agent.

He is rather bold, confident in his instructions and will often joke that he is the narrator to Eclipse's missions.

Echo likes to read, write and strategise in his time away from conducting missions. He also drinks lots of tea.

Codename: Codebreak Real Name: Kyle Brighting Age: 21 Weapon(s): N/A Codec Frequency: 141.47

Codebreak is the designer and head engineer on Metal Gear Nyx, a quadrupedal war machine able to traverse through water as well. He has also designed various other things, including smaller robots and minor weapon modifications.

Codebreak is shy and timid, struggles to talk to people and feels much more comfortable when he's alone. He does however, form a good friendship with Eclipse.

He is the other person in the division with the ability to pilot Metal Gear Nyx. When he finds out the truth about Nyx, he relays this information to Eclipse and helps him disappear. Codebreak remains, feeding information to Eclipse whenever he can.
