Head Down- Jing Yuan x fem!Reader
Return to File
Recovery date: January 6th, 2025
Description: Hi I was just watching the first episode of the apothecary diaries and I had an idea, what if the reader was in a similar situation with Jing Yuan
Notes: This work was recovered in conjunction with an anonymous researcher, we thank them for their contributions. I took the whole, trying to keep to yourself but wanting to help and getting dragged in to stuff, aspect. Hope that's good enough.
Word count: 1 371

Survival is predicated on keeping your head down; at least that’s what Y/n has been taught.
It was how she’d made it through life so far, working hard through school and never going above and beyond, finding a quiet career as a waitress at the Sleepless Earl. Even her hobbies were fairly mundane.
Y/n stood in the kitchen, hugging her tray to her chest and watching the water boil as she made a new pot of tea for one of her tables. The door to the shop opened and closed, and there were heavy footsteps on the polished wooden floor. Her lips curled into a barely noticeable frown.
Cloud Knights rarely entered the shop, it was inconvenient in case they were called off for an emergency. Only once or twice had Cloud Knights come in, still armored, right after a shift.
She waited with baited breath for the footsteps to pass, to find a table inside, but luck was not on her side today.
“Excuse me, ma’am.” Y/n looked up from the water. “Can we speak with Ms. Mengming?”
“Ms. Mengming isn’t here today, but she left me in charge.” Unfortunately. “How can I help you?”
The Knights looked at eachother, having a silent conversation, and then addressed her again.
“Is there a way we can contact Ms.Mengming?”
“I can get you her number,” Y/n offered, not bothering to probe.
They agreed, and Y/n excused herself to the back; coming back with Mengming’s contact information scribbled on a note. Surely she would understand that Y/n had to interrupt her day off, though she did feel a little bad.
The Cloud Knights left, and Y/n assumed that would be the end of it.
It was not.
A week later Y/n showed up for her morning shift and was immediately met with a gossip circle in the break room.
“Y/n!” One of her co-workers called her over.
“What’s up?”
“What did the Cloud Knights want the other day?”
Y/n shrugged, putting her stuff in her locker. “They were looking for Mengming, I didn’t ask why.”
“That’s Y/n for you,” someone else commented, he was new so Y/n didn’t take it to heart.
Most of her co-workers appreciated her behavior, because she’d definitely caught them doing things they technically shouldn’t and she’d also gone above and beyond without credit to lessen their workloads. Because technically, one could live with their head down as long as they never got caught doing more than the bare minimum.
“Well the Cloud Knights are back, and they’re interviewing everyone individually.”
“I think I saw the General here too.”
“Why would the General be here?”
“Must be serious if he is.”
“Great,” Y/n mumbled.
Y/n was the first interviewed.
She’s barely started the first batch of snacks when Mengming called her into her office. The foxian bid her good morning with a reassuring smile and held the door open for her.
Even before stepping in, Y/n took note of the room. The only person in the room was, surprisingly, General Jing Yuan. Outside the door were two Cloud Knights on either side, and Mengming who excused herself to go help the rest of the staff.
Y/n nodded politely at the Cloud Knights before stepping into the office. The Cloud Knights closed the door behind her, and she stopped to stand behind the chair across from the General.
“General, is there anything I can help you with today?”
This was not the first time they’d met; Jing Yuan was a fan of the Sleepless Earl, and Y/n had been working here for quite a while.
“Please, sit.” Y/n did as she was told, crossing her hands in her lap. “Apologies for interrupting your day.”
“It’s alright, I’m sure the matter must be important if you’re here yourself.”
Jing Yuan laughed. “Always straight to the point.” The General leaned forward, lacing his hands on the desk. “Have you noticed any of your co-workers acting suspicious lately?”
“No.” Y/n bit the inside of her lip to stop herself from wincing, she’d answered too fast. “I mean, I don’t really pay attention to know what’s suspicious and what’s not.”
The General raised a brow, scrutinizing her lie.
You see, Jing Yuan is very perceptive. He has to be. He also likes to think he knows Y/n pretty well, so he does know that she definitely pays attention to the things going on around her. It’s very hard to pass unnoticed when you don’t know what the norm is.
“Y/n.”
“Yes?”
He reaches into his pocket and pulls out two pieces of paper. One, a receipt from the Sleepless Earl with a note scribbled on it. She doesn’t need to read it, or see the second paper, to know what he’s getting at. The second paper, which she glances at anyway to confirm her suspicions, is a note.
Side by side, she wants to kick herself.
It is very clearly her handwriting both times, rushed but legible.
“If you have a tip what’s with the interviews? Surely the Cloud Knights can investigate on their own.”
“How did you figure it out?”
“That’s it?”
“That’s it.”
“A bit of an abuse of power, no? You’re disrupting our business for your own curiosity.”
“You wouldn’t have answered me otherwise, now, the sooner you answer the sooner we leave.”
Y/n sighed, setting her hands on the desk and leaning in.
“She’d unpacked a shipment of tea and ‘thrown out’ the shipment box saying it was damaged. Unfortunately for her, I’d already checked the shipment and knew it wasn’t damaged.”
“So you investigated.”
“No. What do you take me for, a PI? It was one box and I’d scratched off the approval seal, I do that with all our shipments. But she didn’t want it to get something past inspections, did she?”
“I’m not at liberty to say.”
Y/n sat back, dragging her hands along the desk. It shouldn’t matter that Jing Yuan couldn’t tell her, she was already more involved than she liked to be. Survival was predicated on keeping your head down, and not getting involved with dangerous people– and anyone could be dangerous.
But, Y/n wasn’t the type to let injustices she could stop pass her by. That was why she was here, wasn’t it? Because she couldn’t keep to herself like her parents taught her to.
That was why she had packed that stupid note in Jing Yuan’s order of tea cakes to go.
“Is that all then?”
Jing Yuan nodded. “You’re free to go.”
She stood up, bowed politely, and left.
Her co-workers practically swarmed her, asking what to expect and what it was about. They were silenced when the office door opened again and Jing Yuan stepped out. He apologized to them for disrupting their day, and then Mengming escorted him and the Cloud Knights out.
Y/n watched them until the door to the shop closed.
The next day, one of her co-workers was arrested for the trafficking of illicit substances on the Luofu. Y/n had been half right, it didn’t matter that the boxes no longer had inspection seals because they were only being used to hold and move the substances within the Luofu. She’d had a feeling it involved illicit substances, she hadn’t mentioned anything to Jing Yuan but there had been more to her tip than just the boxes.
Since she was using empty tea boxes, she would keep some of her wares around the Sleepless Earl. Y/n had taken great care to keep anyone else from finding out; it would be too much of a hassle. The Sleepless Earl would have to close during the investigation and everyone who worked here would be implicated. It would do more harm than good to report her.
As Y/n watched the news, her phone lit up with a text from an unknown number.
Unknown 8:16 AM I think we work well together I hope you’ll keep me updated in the future It’s a lot of effort to pull a stunt like yesterday, and it’s counter to your motto I do believe

A glorious idea has spawned in my brain
Hunter x Criminal!reader where they have a Batman/Catwoman relationship, however this time Omega meets the reader and absolutely adores her so the reader decides to stick around a bit (despite Hunter's protests). During this time, the reader and Omega form a mother/daughter and Hunter secretly loves it and falls for the reader everytime he sees her with Omega
Hello my lovely anon,
Thank you for such a fantastic request. I hope I did your request justice. The setting is Season 1 of Bad Batch, so hopefully you don't mind too much. I wrote with f!Criminal!reader, hope that's okay. Reader has a nickname.
Enjoy.
Also, since this isn't part of the Fic Roulette request, it'll be filed under the One Shots Master List. It's a little longer almost at 2400 words.
Love oo,
Not Ready
Warnings: Slight thieving, Omega in danger, dangling from a tower, banter, angst, fluff, shooting, dangerous driving, I think that's it. If I miss any please let me know.
Part Two

“Give it back, and we can just both walk away.”
You twirled the rather large knife in your hand, “Hmmm, no.”
Hunter clenched his fists, “I said, hand it over.”
“And I said no.” You smirked underneath your mask, the only thing visible on your face were your eyes. Eyes so full of cockiness, determination and experience. “I gotta ask though, why so long?” You chuckled, “Compensating for something?” You flipped it back and forth in your hand, twirling it around your palm and the back of your hand. “Has good weight.” You smirked as you arched your brow, “If you know what I mean.”
“I don’t have time for your nonsense!” Hunter looked behind, sensing the Imperial troopers closing in, he let out a sigh, and before you even realized what was happening he tried to stun you.
Unfortunately, he missed thanks to your ability to sense when danger was imminent. Without even thinking your body back-handspringed away from the blue stun blast. “That was rude.”
“Listen, I need to get to my sister, and I don’t have time to mess around!” Hunter could hear Tech on his comms as he described Omega hanging from the tower.
“Your sister’s in trouble?” All teasing and flirting died on your lips as soon as you heard that.
“Yes!”
You nodded and tossed the knife back to the chiseled red-bandana wearing man in front of you, “Let me help.”
“No. You’ve helped enough.” His tone full of annoyance and frustration. He grabbed the knife and took off running towards Omega, ignoring the pang of regret from his tone. It wasn’t your fault, you didn’t know he was running to help Omega. Yet, the frustration from having to waste even a minute on you was more than enough to make him worry about Omega’s safety and that’s all that mattered.
His feet came to a sudden halt when you appeared in front of him with a speeder bike, “Hop on!”
“What?”
“Just … I feel bad, ok! Now shut up, and get on!”
He didn’t delay, jumping on the back of the speeder holding on to your waist tightly as you weaved through traffic.
“Where is she?” You shouted over the noise of the air rushing past your ears.
Hunter didn’t respond and simply pointed to the person dangling from the tower, as another helmeted person neared her position.
You sped up the speeder, you’d know Fennec’s helmet anywhere. You weaved and dodged against the oncoming traffic, almost as though you could see where and when the next vehicle was going to be turning or shifting. Your heart nearly dropped as you saw the tiny person slip, driving faster and more dangerous to catch her in time.
Hunter reached out his hand and grabbed a hold of Omega’s in midair, tossing her onto his lap, pinning her between the two of you. “You okay, back there?” You shouted to make sure everyone was safe as you saw Fennec jump down and commandeer a vehicle of her own chasing after the three of you.
“We’re fine. Get us out of here!” He shouted as he quickly checked over Omega to make sure she was uninjured and safe. He couldn’t see much from how she was clutching to his chest plate, but it didn’t seem like she was in pain either.
“You got this?”
“What?”
“I’m asking if you know how to drive a speeder?”
“Yeah! Why?” He didn’t clue in to what you were preparing to do until you flipped over him and landed on Fennec’s vehicle.
“Hey gorgeous!” You smirked as you looked at her.
“Ugh! Shouldve known you’d be here.” Fennec answered, rolling her eyes as she tried to keep her eyes on her target.
“Wasn’t supposed but I sort of owed him one. Back off.” You stood aiming your blaster into the hood.
“No can do, little Butterfly.”
Force you hated that nickname, somehow it had stuck among the bounty hunters and assassins, simply because you were quick and light on your feet. Dazzling them with your antics and before they even realized you slipped out of their sight, blending into the crowds more often than not.
“Fennec, I like you, but you need to back off!”
“What’s in it for you?”
“Nothing.”
“I’ll split the reward with you, if you help me capture the little girl.”
You tried to stay balanced as Fennec tilted the vehicle side to side, “You disappoint me, going after a child.”
“Jobs a job, honey.”
You shook your head, “I warned you,” you shot your blaster into her engine, jumping off onto a nearby transport, watching as her engine began to sputter. She jumped to safety standing on the closest terrace she could find, as she watched you and her target move further away. You jumped down, finding your way back to the ground, hoping from one transport to the next.
Once you touched solid ground, you looked back up to see Fennec turn and walk away. ‘Until next time, gorgeous.’ You mumbled as you headed back to the marketplace, before you even got five feet away, you felt your body jerk forward as tiny hands wrapped around your waist. You looked down to see the blonde girl, the rather striking man had rescued, his sister.
“Uh… thanks, kid. I think…” you giggled as you pulled her arms away from you.
“You saved me!” She beamed with a brilliant smile as she looked at you.
“I think your brother did that. I just drove.” You subtly shook your head, subtly moving away from the overwhelming bundle of joy.
“She has a point,” Hunter offered, “if you didn’t show up with a speeder when you did …” you could tell on his face he didn’t want to think about what might’ve happened.
“Listen, Fennec would’ve come up with something. She’s a bounty hunter, but she’s a fairly decent one. Anyway I’m glad you’re safe,” you patted the little girl’s head, “take care of yourself and your brother. Seems like he gets into trouble easily.” You turned to walk away when she gripped your fingers.
“Come with us.” She pleaded looking at you with big eyes that were asking for more than you were prepared to give, or have given to anyone since you could actually remember. It was nice to feel needed, but it was too much.
Hunter wanted to grab Omega and pull her away from this woman who showed up, and was constantly surprising and making him feel uneasy at every turn. “Omega, we don’t know her circumstances. She’s probably already committed to something else, right?” Hunter narrowed his eyes on the helmeted woman in front of him, not wanting her to take the invitation Omega offered.
You’ve seen that look a thousand times before. It said everything that really mattered, you weren’t welcome, and he wanted you to leave as soon as possible.
“Don’t worry,” you started keeping your eyes locked on the man standing behind Omega, “your brother is right, I’m … currently … occupied with other matters.” You smiled as you turned your attention to Omega, and kneeled before her, “Omega, right?”
She nodded, not letting your fingers go.
You smiled and pulled out a collapsable vibroblade, “This is Vala,” you flicked your wrist and opened the vibroblade, “my father gave me this when I was about your age, he told me ‘this galaxy is full of good and bad people. Sometimes the good outweighs the bad, and sometimes there are too many bad, you won’t be able to find a good one. Vala, will always be there to protect you.’” You turned her hand palm-up and placed the vibroblade in her tiny hand. “It will protect you. Ask your brother to train you on how to use it. Never rely on someone else to save you, in this galaxy, sometimes the only person you can count on is yourself. Take care, Omega.” You ruffled her hair one more time, before standing up and walking away without looking back.
It felt strangely comforting to be wanted, even if it was for a brief second.
“Wait!” Hunter shouted, causing you to turn around, “We left your speeder that way” he pointed over his shoulder, you couldn’t help laughing.
“Don’t worry about it, handsome, it’s not mine.” You smiled and walked away.
Omega turned to Hunter, a saddened smile on her face, “Why couldn’t she come with us?”
“Omega,” Hunter kneeled, “we don’t know who she is. Whether she can even be trusted? It’s best if she goes her way and we meet up with Wrecker, Echo and Tech.”
“But…”
“Omega, I know you have a good heart, but you’re too trusting. It’s best if we keep a low profile and avoid entangling ourselves with people we don’t know. Come on, we gotta meet back up with the others.”
He guided her back to the hangar trying to avoid the Pantoran police force and the troopers that seemed to be searching for someone.
Omega kept watching as one Pantoran guard held up a picture to a passerby, it was a picture of you. She pulled on Hunter’s sleeve and pointed to the Pantoran’s datapad.
“They’re looking for her.”
“We should go…” Hunter tightened his grip on her hand, but she refused to move.
“We have to help her.”
“We don’t know why they’re looking for her. She could be a wanted criminal or a murderer, a thief.”
“Hunter, please. She saved me, it’s the least we can do.”
He looked at the picture and commed Wrecker, “Wrecker, where are you?”
“Just entering the marketplace right now, why?”
“I need you to take Omega back to the ship, I …” he turned his head to look at Omega, “I have to repay someone who helped us get Omega back.”
Wrecker walked through the crowd faster than the others as people naturally moved out of his way, he stood in front of the both of them, tilting his head. “Who, you helping?”
“Don’t worry about it, just get Omega back to the ship and tell Tech we need to take off the minute I get back. Make sure Echo makes it back to the ship too. We may have to get out of here faster than expected.”
“Copy that” Wrecker picked up Omega and had her sitting on his shoulder as he headed back to the hangar with her.
Hunter could hear the comm chatter between Wrecker, Tech and Echo. He let out a huff and shook his head, this was just asking for trouble. He ran back, heading the way you were walking. It wasn’t long before he found you sitting at a cafe sipping on something warm.
“Came back to tell me you love me?” You teased him.
“Came back to tell you, you’re in danger.”
“Shocker.” You didn’t react or flinch, as you kept your eyes locked on the man’s eyes.
“I need to know, are you a murderer?”
“No.”
“Do you have a bounty on your head with some crime boss or something?”
“No.”
“Then get up” he grabbed your arm and forced you to stand, grabbing your helmet as he pulled you along, running behind him.
“Wait… hey!” You stopped in your tracks and pulled your arm out of his hold, “Who the hell do you think you are, pulling me like that? You know I have the right …” he put a hand over your mouth and pushed you into a darkened alley, hiding you with his body as a Pantoran patrol passed the two of you.
“They’re searching for you, and not just the police. The Imperial troopers are looking for you too.” He stepped away and handed you your helmet, “Listen, I don’t care what happens to you, but Omega was worried, and I’m not going to disappoint her. You’re warned. So you can either go back out there and try and avoid whatever trouble you got yourself into or…” he let out a sigh regretting the words that were about to come out of his mouth, “You can come with us and we can drop you off somewhere.”
“Us?”
“My brothers, Omega and myself.”
“Why are you helping?”
“Like I said, I don’t want to disappoint Omega. So what’s it going to be?”
You looked at him and then at the increased patrols you hadn’t realized were slowly filling up the streets, they all seemed to be looking for you. You closed your eyes and tapped your helmeted head against the wall, “Alright. I’ll trust you. Lead the way.”
He stepped closer to you, “I’m taking a chance on you, you put any of us in danger, and you and I are going to go another round, understood?”
You narrowed your eyes at him, “Fine. What do I call you anyway? Because I don’t think ‘stuck up jackass’ would work.”
“It’s Hunter, and what do I call you? Because I don’t think ‘crazy tooka’ works.”
You smirked as you looked at him, “You can just call me Butterfly. Hunter.”
“Fine. Now let’s go. Butterfly.”
“You know I’m not as bad as you think.”
“And hell is just a sauna, shut up and follow me.”
As much as you tried to fight the urge to smile, you couldn’t help but enjoy the banter you two had. You also couldn’t help but examine his physique as you followed behind him, moving around the crowd, ducking and avoiding capture until you made it to his ship.
Omega ran to you and hugged you again, “I knew he’d find you, come on. Let me show you inside.”
She gripped your hand and dragged you along. You weren’t looking for family, but … as you moved closer to the ship, there was a strange sense of belonging that came from meeting the rest of her brothers. For the first time in a long time, you felt at home.
Hunter watched you and the way Omega gripped your hand, as you introduced yourself to Wrecker, Tech and Echo. He had to admit, you were attractive, when he saw you without your helmet, he almost felt his tongue getting all tied up. Not to mention, the outfit you wore also drew attention to your physique which didn’t help. He didn’t know why but he had a feeling this could either be a really horrible idea, or it would be a very pleasant surprise.

Last year I bought a gaming computer so that I could play ts4+ all DLCs and a lot of cc without it dying but it still takes about an hour to launch. After it's done everything is fine and there's barely any loading time or lag so I'm wondering what the problem is?
These are my specs:
Computer model: Micro-Star International Co., Ltd. MS-7D11
Operating system: Microsoft Windows 11 Pro (10.0, Build 26100)
Processor: 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-11900K @ 3.50GHz 8/16
Motherboard: Micro-Star International Co., Ltd. Z590 PLUS (MS-7D11)
RAM: 64 GB
STORAGE1: KINGSTON SA400S37960G (894,3 GB/Fixed hard disk media) SSD
STORAGE2: KINGSTON SNV2S500G (465,8 GB/Fixed hard disk media) SSD
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 (8 GB)
DISPLAY: AOC International (USA) Ltd. 27G2G8 (1920x1080 / 27,2 Inch)
I have 277GB of cc and I've already updated everything, deleted broken and duplicate cc. Sims 4 Manager says there are no conflicting mods, PlumbBuddy says none of the script files are corrupted and Better Exceptions says everything is fine. I've tried batch fixing my mods and also repairing the game but nothing has worked. Without mods it loads immediately so I know it has to be one of them but I'm fairly new to gaming pcs so maybe I've done something wrong? Can someone help?

Switching to a new version of my OS means reinstalling all the fun little tools I use <3
Some of them:
kid3-qt: Editor for audio metadata, has GUI
ffmpeg: Only everything that's good and holy in the world. Can do all kinds of things with multimedia files and lots of other programs depend on it because it's just so awesome. Terminal based but really worth learning about. The holy grail aka 'batch conversion command to make an mp3 of everything in a folder that I found on Stack Exchange once and have been using for 8 years':
for f in *.*; do ffmpeg -i "$f" -b:a 320k "mp3/${f%.*}.mp3";done
yt-dlp: Feature-rich YT downloader, also terminal based. Refer to the extensive documentation on GitHub for a complete list of commands.
Pix: Comes pre-installed now, but the handiest little image editing tool I've found for Linux. It lets you - among many other things - crop images with a golden ratio overlay! Or with the rule of thirds if *scoff* if that's good enough for you (I'm biased, I love the golden ratio). Yes, Photoshop lets you do that too, but I don't usually have the same standards for free little Linux programs as for Photoshop.
KolourPaint: The closest thing to MS Paint that Linux seems to have. Seems a little buggy on 22 but I'm keeping it for now.
qRedshift: Applet that manages the brightness and colour of your screen. Better than Nightlight imo. Also has an automated night mode though.
Kazam: Lets you film your screen. Intuitive GUI.
Handbrake: 6MB, a GUI, and it lets you rip DVDs, what's not to love?
xkcd comics viewer: I don't actually use this but I found it this morning and it just has to be mentioned: This is a desklet that puts the xkcd comic of the day on your desktop every day! Isn't that cool? I'd get annoyed seeing the same comic ten times a day but it's just such a fun idea to make something like this!

Modded Balatro on Android is possible! (and not easy to do, but here's a tutorial to help you do it).
Part of the fun of PC gaming is being able to mod games, and devices that run Steam games can still use mods BUT android ports cannot. This is due to the fundamental differences between Windows, IOS, and Android.
So modded Balatro on Android was out of the question.
Or so it appeared.
Turns out early on people realized that Balatro uses an engine called Love which is very easy to dissemble and dissect. So before the official Mobile port came out, players were able to extra the Balatro files from Balatro, turn those files into a zip, and then run the game as a zip file through the Android app Love2d.
Eventually this process became automated and if you have an android device in developer mode you can allow the app on a PC to install Balatro and transfer to save files along with it.
Well, as it turns out, this process can also allow you to install a modded version of Balatro, but it's uh, not transparent how it exactly works or what can go wrong.
But I figured it out! And I can show you how.
NOTE:
I will not provide a copy of my modded Balatro. You need to buy Balatro and install it on Steam. Buy a cheap key before you try to outright steal. That's my opinion.
Yes, you will need a PC. The mod files run through Lovely Injector. Lovely Injector supplements the mod data into the Love Engine, so when Balatro runs, Lovely Injector dumps the Mod game data into the game's loading process.
Guess what doesn't exist on Android? Lovely Injector.
Now pathing could change that but god help you if you want to change where lovely Injector pulls mod data.
So you can change that information at will so that it can pull the mod information from the pathing that Android uses. I tried to figure that out but could not do it. But that is a thing you can do.
Now with that out of the way, let's talk about how I figured out how to add modded Balatro.
Okay, so the first step is to download the tools you need. You have balatro of course, so now you require Balatro Mobile Maker and a couple Batch scripts. Also 7-zip
Here's a link to download 7-zip
And here's a link to download Balatro Mobile Maker, a list of compatible Mods, and the Batch files you will also need.
NOW, if you want to edit the textures and music on Balatro follow these steps.
Step 1: Go on nexus or any other website that hosts Balatro mods and download texture and music focused mods.
Step 2: Open Balatro.exe (easily found by right-clicking Balatro from your library and selecting “browse local files”) using 7-zip and extract the resources' folder, you can extract the whole thing if you want to, but it's not necessary.
Step 3: Fire up your art program of choice (it has to have built in transparency, so NO MS Paint.) Open both the default sprites you want to change and the mod sprites you want to use in the change, and just start copying and pasting. Keep in mind that there is a 1x and a 2x of most sprites, but you only require the 1x of a given sprite because once you're done editing you can just can resize that image to the resolution of the 2x and nothing is out of place. Also. If you are editing hologram Joker, make the sprite translucent. I saw several artists screw that up. You just need to make the sprite translucent, and it will work like the original hologram Joker does.
Step 4: Take that edited Sprite sheet and re-open the Balatro.exe file as an archive again. Overwrite the default sprites with your edited ones in the archive and close it. Now, Balatro will run with those edited sprites as the default ones.
Music has the same steps, only difference is that you'll need to change the file type to .OGG and you'll want to rename the music file to whatever track you want to replace. (Note that editing music files this way will result in the soundtrack being slowed down for whatever reason. You can compensate for that by presumably speeding the track up in Audacity)
Step 5: You will power up Balatro Mobile Maker and run it. The program should fetch all the tools it needs to run correctly. It will ask permission for various actions several times, just say yes to the most logical choices, fps 30 can be left blank. You can run the executable wherever for the most part (at least for this process it doesn't matter) and it will find your legal copy of Balatro, unpack, format it into an APK compliant format, and then repack the file to be played as an APK. Now you have a version of Balatro that plays with modified textures and music files.
That's pretty good, but what if you want to enjoy all the fun and interesting modded jokers?
Well, first off, you'll need to temper your expectations. Some of the best Balatro mods also completely overhaul how Balatro works, and the Mobile Maker cannot cope with maintaining that functionality with Android. I provided a folder of all the mods I know won't break the game at boot. Whatever happens after that is out of my hands.
Step 1: Delete whatever mods you have already in your Mod folder (excluding Lovely and Steammodded). Go into the lovely folder and delete the files in the dump folder as well.
Step 2: Drop the mods I provided into the mod folder and run Balatro. Assuming you didn't have any issues with the game finding Lovely or Steammodded you should have booted into the main menu with the Mod tab accessible. Play a new game and do a couple hands. Don't worry about winning the round, just play a couple hands so that instance of your game is saved.
Step 3: Run Balatro Mobile Maker. Run it as normal, but when it gets to the part where it asks if you want to transfer save files, leave it alone and Run Balatrofoldersetup.bat. That will copy and move around a bunch of files needed for the Mod Transfer process. Once you clicked that Bat once, go ahead and tell the Mobile Maker to transfer your save file. When it's done, click on Balatrofoldercleanup.bat to turn things back to normal. If you forget to do that, Balatro on your PC won't run. Don't worry. If you forget to do that, clicking on it at anytime will still work as intended.
Step 4: This is the hardest step. Doing Step 1-4 over again because X thing happens.
If your pc is hooked up to your android device and mobile maker is supposed to be installing it on your Android device (and has the permissions to do so) but doesn't install it. Try again. If the App just plain crashes, move the app to a different folder and try again. I hear it works best in folders where the Balatro.exe file actually is, but I alternated between download folder, Balatro Mod folder, and the actual folder that contains the Balatro game files and there was no real difference.
If the save transfer finishes in a couple seconds, it didn't work. You can confirm it by opening the Balatro game and seeing that it's just default Balatro without the Mod tab. If the save transfer process takes several seconds to actually transfer the data, then it's actually legitimately working. If you boot up and see evidence of your previous game progress and the mod tab, you're in! Enjoy it friend!
Addendum:
Yes, I know that people have gotten Jen's Almanac, Pokermon, and especially Cryptid working on Android, I don't like using the Jen and Cryptid mods because they're just insane and exist for the spectacle.
The Vanilla Joker mods dilute the collection of Jokers making the really powerful cards less likely to show up and making really odd niche cards more likely to get in the way, this adds a bit of challenge. Jen and Cryptid having many face roll jokers eliminates that, however.
Also, a lot of overhaul mods require modifying the shader files to get the game working on Android, and I just don't know where to begin fixing that. I tried the patches and they didn't work.
If you know the solution to "error validating vertex shader code: Line 125 error '/': wrong operand types: no operation '' exists that takes a left-hand operand of type ' global highp float' and a right operand of type ' const int (or there is no acceptable conversion)"
Post it on this web zone, I'm not the only one wanting a solution for that, and no one on the Balatro Mobile Maker GitHub had a solution (that worked).
There are other mods I skipped that probably worked but didn't personally want in my pack, so go to Mirahaze and download whatever mod you like and go through the steps I tried. If you boot up the Android app, and it crashes, specifying that some abbreviated file linked to a specific mod was not found or had trouble installing, get rid of the mod. You could fix it, but if you could do that, you probably didn't need my help to begin with.

Someone's got your back chpt.3
Return to File
Recovery date: June 17th, 2022
Description: Order 66 is subverted, only the jedi even know the order was called, but how? And what's with the voice in the back of a lot of the clones heads? Maybe someone looking out for them?
Notes: N/a
Chapters: 1 2 3 4 5
Word count: 729
Back to directory
“Aww, they’re adorable. They have your nose.”
Jango glared at his friend, watching as she cooed happily at the baby clones.
“That’s the point.”
“Hm,” she hummed, leaning back against the glass and facing Jango. “I’m getting attached, aren’t I?”
“No, not at all. You are attached, you were getting attached a week ago when you started planning out their training and added ethics lessons.”
“Good soldiers need good morals.”
“Good morals make them individuals, they aren’t supposed to be people.”
“I know, and having good morals doesn’t change that. It’ll be fine, as long as they don’t start developing personalities we won’t have a problem. Even droids can make choices between right and wrong, right?”
---
Rex couldn’t find a name. Nearly five hours into scrolling through the files from Kamino and there was not a single mention of the woman’s name. That wasn’t to say his search was a complete failure, because he has learned a lot about her.
She was a bounty hunter and a friend of Jango Fett’s, in one of the few reports he wrote, he referred to her as “the clone’s mother”. And it very much seemed like she was. Before the Jedi council had found out about the clone army, she’d been the one in charge of combat and strategy training. All mentions of her leave out a name, most likely for security reasons, but all mentions stop after the Jedi council got involved.
Rex sighed and buried his face in his hands.
“Oh,” Omega popped over his shoulder, “having trouble with official documents?”
Rex yelled and jumped, nearly hitting Omega in the face.
“Wow, sorry. I’m not used to being able to sneak up on people, clone force 99 can always tell I’m coming.”
“No it’s-” he yawned, “it’s fine.”
“So, have you tried looking at unofficial documents? Things are usually less restricted on those.”
“I don’t even know what I’m looking for,” he sighed, rubbing the bridge of his nose. “When did you even get here?”
“Just now, Hunter said I could hang out with you while they went to help one of the other squad camps.”
“ Do you… do you want some tea?”
“Sure, I’ve never had tea. The only thing the bad batch has on board the Marauder is caf, and Echo won’t let me have any.”
Rex nodded and got up to start more water. As soon as he stood up, Omega slid into his seat and picked up his holopad to flip through the files.
“So, kid” she perked up, “why are you staying here?”
She frowned and tilted her head, Rex turned around and leaned back against his small counter.
“What do you mean?”
“Well, all the other young clones went off to new families, why didn’t you?”
“Because you’re my family, my brothers, and I want to stay with you.”
Rex nodded and turned back to the water.
Omega turned back to the holopad while Rex grabbed a tea bag and mug for Omega.
“This sounds li-”
“Do you want-”
“Sorry,” they both said at the same time, laughing awkwardly.
“Do you want anything in your tea?”
“Mh, what normally goes in tea?”
“General Kenobi normally puts sugar in his, some people put cream but we don’t have any of that.”
“Can I try it without sugar first?”
“Sure. Now what were you trying to say?”
“Well, these reports don’t mention a name, but it sounds like they’re talking about Ms. Alana.” Rex’s brows furrowed and he tilted his head, stirring a tea bag around Omega’s cup. “Ms. Alana was a bounty hunter, but you already knew that.” She looked back down at the holopad. “Nala Se says she treated the clones like real people, she always said it like it was a bad thing, AZ said that originally the clones weren’t supposed to be “real people”,” she said, making air quotes, “when they started developing personalities she got defensive over them and the only reason she wasn’t removed from the project was because Jango insisted she had to stay.”
“The files call her the mother of clones.”
Rex handed her the mug.
“Because she treated them like her children. You’re a first gen, so maybe you remember her a bit?”
He paused, leaning against the counter and staring down at the holopad.
“Mh,” Omega made a sour face, “can I have some sugar please?”

The Wasp Woman (1959). Tagline: “A beautiful woman by day – a lusting queen wasp by night!” Dir: Roger Corman.
The Wasp Woman begins with that perennial b-movie archetype – the deranged scientist. In his crimes-against-nature experiments, Dr. Eric Zinthrop (Michael Mark) has extracted an enzyme from the queen wasp’s royal jelly to create a compound that seemingly possesses miraculous rejuvenating powers. Has Zinthrop discovered the fountain of youth? The results on animals speak for themselves. See that mature Doberman pinscher next to a frisky puppy? They are the exact same age!
Meanwhile, Janice Starlin (a fraught, riveting Susan Cabot giving the performance of her life) is addressing the board of her cosmetics firm Janice Starlin Enterprises. The forecast is gloomy: “As you can see, gentlemen – sales from the last fiscal quarter have dropped.” Thrusting Brylcreemed young exec Bill Lane (Fred Eisley) speaks up to drop a truth bomb: the decline rests squarely with Janice herself. For the past 16 years it’s been her lovely face gracing the packaging. Now that she’s been replaced by a model the consumers feel cheated. So, the brand’s success is dependent on her image, but time has marched on and there’s no way Janice – who’s hit haggard middle age and sports severe horn-rimmed spectacles and a dowdy coiffure - could be a spokesmodel now. “Not even Janice Starlin can remain a glamour girl forever,” she ruefully admits. Or as Lane bitchily opines behind her back later: “Janice Starlin has built her whole life on youth and beauty. Now that she’s losing them, she’s scared to death!”
Just then, Zinthrop arrives in reception to see Janice. Despite her colleagues’ protestations that he’s a quack, Janice is impressed (his magical formula could earn her millions!) and she agrees to proceed. But there’s a problem: Zinthrop’s serum has never been tested on humans. With all-advised nonchalance, Janice volunteers to be his guinea pig …
Late one night, alone in the building and impatient with the slow progress, she sneaks into the lab and self-administers a mega-dose of the extra-powerful batch Zinthrop had cautioned was meant for external use only. The next morning, Janice arrives at the office and … why, Ms Starlin, you’re beautiful! The sight of this radiant, dewy-skinned Liz Taylor lookalike makes even Maureen (Lynn Cartwright) - the insolent Brooklyn-accented receptionist perpetually filing her nails – do a double take. Janice assesses that she’s reversed at least 18 years, returning herself to when she was 22 or 23 (meaning that she must be - gasp - a withered crone of 40!).
But of course, it’s too good to be true. The royal jelly mixture has alarming, unexpected side-effects. A cat Zinthrop had been injecting turns blood-thirsty and savagely attacks him. And Janice herself begins transforming into a ravenous she-monster complete with antennae and huge insectoid eyes. In fact, you could say she’s become a “wasp woman.” Beauty is indeed pain … for anyone who crosses Janice Starlin’s path!

The Wasp Woman (Film Group, 1959). Insert (14" X 36"). Science Fiction. Starring Susan Cabot, Fred (Anthony) Eisley, Barboura Morris, William Roerick, Michael Mark, Frank Gerstle, Bruno VeSota, Roy Gordon, Carolyn Hughes, Lynn Cartwright, Roger Corman, and Aron Kincaid. Directed by Roger Corman.

Manufacturing Nilotinib API: Key Process Considerations and Quality Challenges

Nilotinib is a second-generation tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) primarily used in the treatment of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). As an active pharmaceutical ingredient (API), nilotinib plays a crucial role in inhibiting the BCR-ABL protein that causes the uncontrolled proliferation of leukemic cells. Given its therapeutic importance and stringent safety requirements, manufacturing nilotinib API demands meticulous planning, process control, and regulatory compliance.
This article explores the key considerations in the production of nilotinib API, along with the major quality challenges that manufacturers must navigate to ensure safe and effective delivery to end-users.
1. Synthetic Route Development
The manufacturing of nilotinib begins with route selection, which directly impacts yield, cost-efficiency, and impurity formation. The synthesis process typically involves multiple steps, including heterocyclic coupling, amine protection/deprotection, and amide bond formation.
Process developers must evaluate several critical parameters during route design:
Reagent selection and cost
Reaction efficiency and scalability
Environmental and safety factors
Control of side reactions and by-products
Establishing a high-purity intermediate pathway is essential to minimize downstream purification load and reduce the risk of impurities exceeding ICH limits.
2. Impurity Profiling and Control
One of the most complex aspects of nilotinib API production is impurity identification and control. Because the molecule contains sensitive functional groups and multiple chiral centers, it is prone to the formation of related substances, isomers, and degradation products.
To address this, manufacturers must:
Implement robust analytical methods (e.g., HPLC, LC-MS) for detection and quantification
Set strict specification limits based on toxicological thresholds
Perform comprehensive forced degradation studies to anticipate and control impurities under various storage and processing conditions
Impurities must be classified and qualified according to ICH Q3A/B guidelines to ensure product safety.
3. Process Validation and GMP Compliance
Nilotinib API falls under high-value, regulated pharmaceutical ingredients, and as such, requires full Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) compliance. The entire process—from raw material sourcing to final API crystallization—must be thoroughly validated.
Key areas of focus during validation include:
Critical Process Parameters (CPPs): Temperature, pH, solvent ratios
Critical Quality Attributes (CQAs): Assay, purity, residual solvents, particle size
Equipment qualification and cleanroom standards to prevent contamination
Manufacturers are required to maintain detailed batch manufacturing records (BMRs) and validation master plans (VMPs), especially if the API is intended for regulated markets like the US, EU, or Japan.
4. Polymorphism and Crystallization Control
The solid-state properties of nilotinib play a critical role in its bioavailability, solubility, and stability. During final crystallization, controlling polymorphic form is essential to maintain consistency in performance and comply with regulatory filings.
Challenges here include:
Identifying and maintaining the correct crystal form (e.g., Form A, Form B)
Avoiding unintended form conversion during drying or storage
Optimizing solvent selection and cooling profiles
Failure to maintain a consistent polymorphic profile can lead to regulatory rejections and batch failures in downstream formulation.
5. Environmental and Safety Considerations
The use of organic solvents, reagents like phosphorylating agents, and elevated reaction temperatures make nilotinib synthesis both environmentally and operationally sensitive. Manufacturers must ensure:
Efficient waste management and solvent recovery systems
Compliance with EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) guidelines
Worker safety through proper PPE, closed systems, and process automation
Minimizing the ecological footprint while maximizing yield remains a balancing act in nilotinib API production.
Conclusion
The manufacturing of nilotinib API is a highly specialized process that involves a delicate interplay of synthetic chemistry, regulatory rigor, and quality assurance. From route development and impurity control to polymorphic consistency and GMP compliance, every step must be optimized for safety, scalability, and global regulatory acceptance.
As demand for high-performance oncology APIs grows, nilotinib API manufacturers that focus on innovation, quality control, and environmental responsibility will remain critical to the success of global pharmaceutical supply chains.

Modern computers for general use have an operating system such as UNIX, Linux, Microsoft Windows, and Mac OS that run other application software or programs. An operating system (OS) manages all input and output functionalities within a computer system. The OS controls different users, networking, printing, and memory and file management by conveying data to the screen, printer, and other hardware devices connected to the computer (Laudon, & Laudon, 1997, p.34). Because of the difference in computer construction, the input, and output commands of each system varies. An OS consists of many compact programs controlled by the core or kernel. The kernel is the smallest unit of an operating system that allows users to access the application programs and other systems of the computer. Besides the kernel, operating systems have additional tools that display programs and manage user interface and utility programs for file management and configuration of the OS. Essentially, most operating systems use multiprogramming schemes that manage different jobs for maximum performance of the computer system. At any given time, the operating system kernel manages many processes including user processes such as applications and system processes, for instance the accounting process. Thus, an OS kernel is responsible for the management of multiple functions such as “inter-process communication, scheduling the processes within the CPU, creating, and deleting processes” (Milenkovic, 1987, p.157). Among the contemporary operating systems is the Linux operating system. The basis of this OS is UNIX standards. It comprises of three major systems of code, the kernel, the system libraries, and the system utilities. It runs most efficiently with PC hardware and is compatible with many computer systems. Linux operating system compared to other operating systems offers multiple choices; it is configurable, reliable, and supports networking and internet use. History of Linux Operating System An operating system (OS) entails a program that controls the hardware and software of a computer system through the control of the computer memory, management of the input and output devices connected to the computer; file management, processing of instructions and facilitating networking (Milenkovic, 1987, p.162). Early computers lacked operating systems for managing software and hardware. By the 1960s, pressured by the need to maximize CPU performance, commercial software vendors including UNIVAC and Control Data Corporation were able to provide tools such as batch processing systems for scheduling, allocating resources and execution of multiple jobs (Weizer, 1981, p.119). The batch systems involved developing ad hoc programs for each model (Silberschatz, Galvin, & Gagne, 2005, p.213). Several key concepts during the 1960s contributed to the development of the modern operating systems. The development of IBM System, that involved a single OS, the OS/360, intended to replace the batch system. Among the important features of OS/360 was its hard disk memory storage device, the DASD, which allowed easy file management. Another major development that contributed to the development of modern operating systems was the construct of time-sharing, which could let several users to have virtual access to the machine, since computer resources were expensive at that time. This led to the development of a time-sharing system, the Multics, which formed the basis for earlier operating systems particularly the UNIX (Ritchie, 1984, p.1577). The early microcomputers lacked the capacity for an elaborate operating system, but CP/M was one notable operating system designed for microcomputers that largely based on creating MS-DOS developed by IBM. In the 1980s, Apple Macintosh Computer developed Mac OS while Microsoft developed the Windows NT in 1999 forming the basis for its subsequent operating systems. Apple released the Mac OS X in 2001, an OS rebuilt on UNIX core. Due to the increasing complexity of the devices incorporated into computers, these devices use embedded OS. Modern OS have Command line interface (CLI) operating systems that operate using the keyboard functionalities for input. Other modern Operating systems use the mouse for input but this is dependent on the CPU system (Laudon, & Laudon, 1997, p.36) However, Linux and BSD operating systems can run all CPUs. From the 1990s, Microsoft Windows and UNIX operating systems such as Linux and Mac OS X have been the choice for personal computers. Linux is a modern operating system first designed in 1991 as a self-contained kernel by Linus Torvalds based on UNIX standards. Its development involved a collaboration of many developers from all over the world who communicated using the internet. The kernel is the major component of Linux operating system, which is compatible with existing UNIX software (Ritchie, 1984, p.1581). The Linux kernel developed in 1991 was compatible with most Intel processors but had limited support for embedded devices. Linux 1.0 version developed in 1994 had improved features including BSD-compatibility, improved file management systems, support for TCP and IP networking programming, and support for SCSI controllers that allowed quick access to the computer disk. In 1995, Linus developed Linux version 1.2 with features compatible with PC while version 2.0 came about in 1996 with two distinctive features; allowed support for microprocessors and support for much architecture such as Alpha port. It also had improved features such as advanced file and memory management and networking. The Linux networking tools bases on BSD code such as Free BSD and allows improved networking compared to earlier versions. The Components of Linux Operating system The basis of the design of Linux Operating system commonly used in servers and PC is UNIX standards. It intended to allow use of a computer system by multiple users, allow multitasking based on the earlier time-sharing configuration, and be portable. The design of UNIX systems has common distinctive concepts; devices that allow communication between multiple users, data storage involve plain text storing and hierarchical system for file management (Silberschatz, Galvin, & Gagne, 2005, p.192). As a result, the Linux file system follows the UNIX networking standards with an aim of improving efficiency and speed of the systems. Linux design is compliant with the SVR4 UNIX semantics and BSD codes and POSIX requirements. The four major components of Linux operating system include programs for system management, user utility programs, compilers, and user processes. The four components make up the system shared libraries that are core to Linux OS kernel. User Processes System management programs User Utility Programs Compilers Shared system Libraries Linux Operating System kernel Kernel modules All UNIX implementations are composed of three main systems of codes: the kernel, the shared system libraries, and the system utilities. Similarly, Linux, which bases on UNIX design principles, has the three code systems. The kernel provides the required operating system abstractions while the kernel code allows the user to access the computer hardware and software. This code together with the OS data structures occur at a single address within the OS. The system libraries on the other hand, provide standard functionalities that allow the interaction between the kernel and the operating system and are independent of the kernel code. The purpose of the system utilities is to perform particular tasks as per the requirements of the various user applications or programs. The kernel modules refer to the functionalities of the kernel code that can be loadable or unloadable independent of the other functionalities of the kernel. They enhance the implementation of a networking protocol, a file system, or any embedded device thus allowing the distribution of file systems or device drivers. The Linux kernel modules allow the setting up of a Linux system with minimal kernel or additional inbuilt device drivers. The Linux module support comprises of three main components: the driver registration, conflict resolution, and module process management, which allow loading of modules into the kernel. Module loading allows the management of the kernel code within the kernel memory and management of the symbols referenced by the kernel modules. The module requester is involved in the management of loading requested and confers with the kernel regarding the status of the loaded module, and unloads it if no longer needed. The driver registration functionality allows kernels to send information to the rest of the kernel regarding the availability of a particular driver. Normally, the kernel maintains registration tables of all available drivers and provides the options for adding or removing particular drivers. Registration tables kept by the kernel include file systems, binary formats, networking protocols and drivers for various devices. Conflict resolution is a mechanism that allows various drivers to possess a given hardware resources and protects one driver from using resources of another driver. Thus, the conflict resolution module allows fair access to hardware resources by all drivers, prevents new device drivers from affecting the existing drivers by ensuring fair access to hardware resources. In Linux operating system, the module process management aids in the separation of the creation processes and the implementation of a new program. It comprises of the fork system call that is responsible for creating a new process and execve call, which is responsible for running a new program. Under Linux, three distinct categories of the module processes exist: the identity of the process, the process environment, and the context. The process identity (PID) specifies the module processes for the OS following a call from a particular application. In Linux, every module process must have a personality identifier compatible with UNIX tools (Silberschatz, Galvin, & Gagne, 2005, p.209). The process environment on the other hand consists of argument and environment vectors that allow the customization of the OS based on the module process. The process context comprises of the scheduling context, the file table such as the I/O system, the virtual memory context, and the signal handler table. The process context informs the user of the state of a program at any given time during operation of the system. The use of signals, limited in number, enhance the achievement of the inter-process communication in Linux. However, the processes running within the kernel mode do not involve the use of these signals but instead involve scheduling states and wait.queque structures. The shared memory feature in Linux operating systems offers a fast way of communication and transfer of data between many processes. However, to allow for kernel synchronization, the shared memory operates with inter-process communication structures. The shared memory functionality on the other hand, provides a back up for the shared memory sections of the kernel. A distinctive feature of the shared memory functionality is its capability to retain memory of their contents even when there are no processes changing their memory into virtual memory. The basis of the Linux file system is UNIX semantics. The kernel manages the various file systems using an abstraction layer called the virtual file system (VFS), which is composed of two components: a set of micro-systems that define how the object file appears like and a node object, which represent individual file. The file system object consists of the entire file system alongside a software layer for controlling the individual file objects. Linux Operating System and Security Linux operating system uses two techniques to protect the kernel and promote the security of the stored files and information. Firstly, normally, the kernel code unlike the other OS systems is not reversible. If an interruption occurs during the execution of a module process, the need_resched alert is set to allow the scheduler to continue running once the control returns to the user mode. Secondly, the kernel through the processor’s control hardware disables other interruptions in critical sections of the kernel, an action that guarantees progress of interrupt service routines without making the shared data resources to be accessible by other users.
