Gambit - Remy Etienne LeBeau 🇺🇸
• Ability to take potential energy stored in an object and convert it into kinetic energy, thus "charging" that item with explosive results (tend to be playing cards) • Typically can't use his powers on living matter or organic molecules but have demonstrated doing it throughout the years • With the ability to tap energy it grants him increased speed, strength, and reflexes • Along with fast reaction, flexibility, dexterity, coordination, balance, and endurance • Creates an natural static that blocks him from telepaths • Has a hypnotic charm. A subliminal psionic talent channeled through his voice that allows him to compel others to believe in what he says, agrees, and anything he suggests • Along with playing cards, Remy also carries and charges a large staff • Was abandoned as a baby by his parents has they called him "Devil Spawn" due to his red irises and black eyeballs. Later kidnapped from the hospital by the members of the Thieves Guild of New Orleans • Was given three cats by Mystique. The cats names are Oliver, Lucifer, and Figaro. • Remy was responsible in making the team Marauders for Mr. Sinister, in which they massacred the Morlocks

Kwannon (Revanche / Psylocke) Reading Guide
Were Kwannon's body is well known she herself had been dead for decades after her time with The X-Men as Revanche. Coming back to life Kwannon took the name Psylocke and has joined an array of teams using her lethal fighting skills alongside her telepathy and telekinesis. This reading order follows her appearances throughout the years.
Bolded: she's a main character/it is an important issue for her. Italic: she's not necessarily a main character but still has interesting moments. Normal: She appears but it is not entirely important to her character.

Ugh I hate this. I like Peach as an artist but I don’t like that this is erasing all of Kate’s Jewishness that was so prominent and important in the Krakoa era. This also feels like a X-men Gold, pre-Emma mentorship take on the character. I am only going to be okay with this if is leads to her being with Magik but I still feel like early 2019 Marauders pirate, Jewish bisexual chaos Kate would be the best stage to finally acknowledge her feels for Illyana

Sorry if this is a dumb question but I’m trying to get into X-men comics and do you have a karoka era reading order? I’ve seen the animated series (Scott is my fav) so also do you have any runs to specifically recommend about him (or any similar characters)? Thank you ❤
Re: Krakoa -
Definitely start with HoXPoX (House of X and Powers of X), which sets up Krakoa. I wouldn't say it's fantastic but it's required reading to fully understand how current things came to be.
From there you can just pick what all Dawn of X series you want to start with. I personally recommend New Mutants (2019), X-Factor (2020), Excalibur (2019) and X-Men (2019) as the best ones.
Then you should check out the X of Swords event, which establishes Arakko.
After this, you can read whatever Reign of X series you want. I personally recommend just continuing with the same ones you started with, and again, I especially personally like New Mutants, X-Factor, Excalibur, and X-Men.
Currently, Excalibur has relaunched as Knights of X (2022), X-Men has relaunched as X-Men (2021), and New Mutants is continuing. Marauders has relaunched as Marauders (2022) and is way better than the previous so far, so I suggest checking it out. I also highly suggest X-Men Red (2022) which takes place on Arakko; another great one so far. After you get past the Hellfire Gala event you can pick up these if you want.
Re: Cyclops -
I highly recommend to you Classic X-Factor (1986).
Also, somewhat controversial opinion, but one of my favourite Scott eras is after he murders Xavier in the Avengers vs. X-Men event and starts his own rogue branch of X-Men. So that would be Uncanny X-Men (2013).

Marvelvsmarvel Year In Review Pt III:
Must Read Comic Series: Dawn of X
Dawn of X is the latest X-Men run by Jonathan Hickman that launched October of last year with Howers of X. The image above is my favorite page of the entire series and is the very first page of Powers of X Issue 1. It currently has 10 main titles and just wrapped up its major event X of Swords. This series is easily one of the best things to come out of this year and it only promises to get better with the Reign of X on the horizon. In reviewing it I wanted to share a few of my favorite images and moments and share in my excitement on what is to come. I wasn’t always an avid comic book reader but my passion for Marvel movies and shows made eager for more. I didn’t know where to start and a friend simply said to pick one and go! I actually started with Matthew Rosenberg’s Uncanny X-Men (2019) and that carried me into this. If you have not gotten into the comics and have any interest rose do so I am telling you to get into Dawn of X. The X-Men have isolated themselves in a pursuit of becoming their own sovereign and unified nation on the living mutant island Krakoa. In doing so they have freely given gifts to human nations that willing recognize them as so while putting an economical stranglehold on the nations that won’t. As if this were enough with mutant kind united by this vision they have found a way to face death without fear. Brace yourself that these might be spoilery but consider them teasers of the greater story!

Favorite Dialogue: Apocalyspe (X-Men Issue 4) Ancient, powerful, evil, and Darwinistic am I right? Wrong! There is so much more to Apocalypse than we previously knew and yet all those descriptions remain true but clearly in a most badass way possible! What caused the end of the Bronze Age?! ME!!! Fucking Apocalypse taking names without even looking up from his plate! But again this historical context is just the surface of this mutant god’s being. The depth of his person runs as deep as his life has been long lived.

Favorite Illustration: Hellfire Bay (Marauders Issue #2) I am beyond glad that they included the Hellfire Club! The mysterious mutant Illuminati gets the opportunity to operate out of the shadows and onto the Quiet Council of the sovereign nation of Krakoa although every good deed in light casts a shadowy deed of its own. But if there was a thing they visually got about the Hellfire Club it is that they are elitists. There are not many scenic views of Krakoa but they definitely accomplished something here with these castles for the three figureheads.

Favorite Monologue: Cyclops (Excalibur Issue 15) Call me old fashion but I love a great hero speech! It finally seems that Cyclops is at peace and that is indicative of the state of mutant kind. Even while not taking the leadership role on the Quiet Council Cyclop remains a hero at his core. Krakoa trying to build itself as a nation trying to convince themselves as well as the world that they are good and they will not fail in this. With threats coming from all side Cyclops steps in to be the hero he’s meant to be nothing more and nothing less.

Favorite Protagonist: Kwannon (Hellions Issue 7) This isn’t Psylocke and it isn’t Betsy Braddock. Kwannon was once a tool of the hand and was again just a vessel for Betsy. Today she is much more from the leader of the Fallen Angels (essentially her own title) and now leader of the Hellions and man does she kick ass! What she is mostly however is a mother and with that there is much more we have yet to learn about her.

Favorite Antagonist: White Sword of the Ivory Spire (X of Swords: Stasis Issue 1) Antagonist meaning he opposed the protagonists but he clearly is no friend to the main villains either. White Sword is obviously someone you don’t want to mess with. Only time will tell if we will get more of what we see of him.

Favorite Scene: Ressurection of Melody Guthrie aka Aero (X-Men Issue 7) I know right. Who the hell is Melody Guthrie. Yes she is Sam Guthrie aka Cannonball’s sister and yes she had no powers prior to this moment due to the events of House of M. But this scene depicted by 4 panels of dark, to light, to the towering figures of leadership, to life, to the harolding defeat over death is so eerie, so chilling yet so damn epic! This moment is a moment I hope to see come to life on the big screen! A blacked out picture then BOOM a crescendo of heavenly cries as Aero bursts through the egg. The bass hums deep panning over the faces of these three. BOOM another crescendo as she writhes and fights and wills herself back to coherence as the voices lift then fade to a whisper and tears start to pour in realization of her fate. Then holding still on Storm’s face she declares...
Ultimately that is why I geek out over this. Yes it is an amazing story in and of itself. But it is also so epic and cinematic and truly different than any X-Men series that has come before it that I honestly believe that with Disney claiming the ownership of the X-Men from Fox that this will be the version that will be introduced in the MCU. Play close attention to the way Hickman lays out how this started and you’ll see how the MCU can do it without having to explain where they’ve been this whole time. Again this is a must read even if you just read one of the individual titles. And remember to look out for Reign of X dropping early next year!

hey! I have a question! Is there any like idea of the current timeline in the comics? like how long ago was krakoa made? when did all the teams form? when did kitty die + her funeral/ resurrection? the new mutants were in space for like months right??? when was that happening?? I`m just so confused??? nothing seems to be connected (but at the same time dully connected), like some things SHOULD have fallout in other comics?? but like dont? so like?? ahh??
guhhhhh ok so thats one thing that’s been bugging me since this run started --we have no IDEA how long its been. i think a time jump is certainly implied not only by how much shit changed in between uncanny x-men 2019′s last issue and house of x #1 but there’s no indication of how long that time jump is. everyone changed on a dime so i think there’s a lot of behind the scenes stuff we didn’t see lmao. i mean thats just part of why this run is such a goddamn mess its like “throw away everything you know and just run with it”
kittys death is also so insanely poorly handled i dont know where to begin. she died in marauders and its just...never been touched on anywhere else? logan never mourned in his book he’s just been fucking around and drinking and doing whatever. illyana and rachel have been doing their own thing. so i have no idea what the timeline was on that since no one seemed to ever know she died.
its literally one of the most annoying things. the only thing that has happened in any book that has crossed over at all is “bable is dating the cuckoos” got mentioned a few times and jean and logan fucked after house of x implied they were fucking. thats it. everything else is so bizarrely contained and weird that there’s no sense of continuity or time.
you’re not alone lol its driving me nuts too.

KITTY PRYDE the SHADOWCAT
The idea: a playable Marvel Contest of Champions character in the Mutant class based on any iteration of Kitty Pryde’s long and storied history in comic books. This blog entry is intended to explore whether Kitty Pryde is a strong candidate for Marvel Contest of Champions.
Why Summoners Care
She has a rich history with many team-ups (read: synergies, and not just mutants). Even though she is a classic character, her exploits are fresh, current, recent, and always relevant to big plot lines.
By most measures, she is a bigger deal than many Mutant-classed and mutant-related who are all already in MCOC, including Bishop, Cable, Domino, Havok, Mister Sinister, Omega Red, Warlock, and Sunspot.
In January 2020, Frontline: MCOC’s editor Dan was interviewed by the MCOC Content Creator Program’s Kabam Thel. (These interviews always ask the content creator what one champ they would add to the game.) Dan chose Kitty Pryde. Elaborating on Twitter in September 2020, Dan said that “For me, Kitty is on that Jean Grey/Emma Frost/Storm tier of Top X-Ladies of all-time.” He noted that “If we're going by comics, Kitty is 2x Jubilee on appearances, and just had a lot more impact in her stories. She's also the best character Chris Claremont ever created, and is the character he writes the best. So in a way, she is the definitive X-Man from the guy that made the X-Men the X-Men.”
Kitty Pryde and Summoners
She’s a widely requested champ. On the MCOC Wishlist Poll on Ranker, Kitty has been in the top 10 since 2019. She is one of only 4-5 characters to have ever been the #1 ranked champ on the poll. She is also among only a handful, as of December 2020, to have received more than 1,000 Summoner upvotes. At end of year 2020 she has 1,125 upvotes and sits comfortably at #6 most-wanted champ behind Beta Ray Bill and ahead of Morbius and Kraven.
Kitty is also content creator StarfighterMCOC's #1 most-wanted champ, and Frontline: MCOC’s #1 most-wanted champ (see above), and she lands in Katy Candy's top five most wanted.
Raw Potential for Synergies
Besides her romance with Colossus, her membership on the X-Men and Excalibur (including her affiliation with the Soul Sword), and leading the new House of X “Marauders” and “Hellfire Trading Company,” as the Red Queen, Kitty is one of the mutants who has many connections outside of mutant-oriented stories. Kitty joined and even briefly led the Guardians of the Galaxy and has shared some adventures with Spider-Man. She was also trained to be a ninja under Ogun, who figures prominently in Wolverine’s adventures connected to Japan, and who currently possesses Shogun.
The following are Other MCOC Gabe’s synergy ideas, originally listed on Kitty’s item description on the MCOC Wishlist Poll.
“X-Women” with (any four of) Phoenix, Storm, Boom-Boom, Jubilee, Psylocke, and Rogue; “Guardiennes” with (any four of) Gamora, Phyla-Vell, Mantis, Moondragon, Nebula, and Angela; “Soul Sword” with Magik, Magik II, Margali, and Colossus (Future); “Possessed” with Dracula and Ogun or "Star Lords" with Star Lord or “Romance” with any and all versions of Colossus.
She’s in Other Games
Mobile
Some mobile games in which Kitty Pryde has already appeared include Marvel Future Fight, Marvel Puzzle Quest, and on cards in Marvel War of Heroes and X-Men: Battle of the Atom.
Update December 3, 2020: she has also been teased for Marvel Strike Force.
General Character Pool
Unlike most mutants, Kitty has appeared Some Marvel games that feature the entire pool of Marvel characters have featured a playable Kitty Pryde include Marvel Super Hero Squad Online, Marvel: Avengers Alliance, and Marvel Heroes.
X-Men Video Games
Kitty has appeared as a playable character in X-Men II: the Fall of the Mutants (1990) and X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014) (pictured above with Lockheed).
She reportedly had a role in X-Men: The Official Game (2006), which was designed to reflect Ellen Page’s portrayal in the FOX motion picture of the same name. She is also reportedly mentioned in Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions.
She’s in the Battlerealm
Wolverine mentioned her by name in the February 2019 event quest dialogue.
“I told Kat not to try it,” says Wolverine, “But she insisted nothing was wrong. Hell of a time gettin’ her outta that wall.”
Write-Ups by Summoners
Original Description Migrated from the MCOC Wishlist Poll, which preexisted this blog
“She walks through ...her opponents? She can reach right past Armor Up and your Force Field. Paired with any Soulsword synergy champ, her special 2 can power lock and her special 3 does more damage per stacked buff. Add her little buddy Lockheed and you've got some fire-breathing attacks.”
Further thoughts by Other MCOC Gabe
Plausibly she should have phasing, telepathic resistance, and capabilities that can distrupt Tech champs, possibly EMP, Accuracy Reduction, and Shock.
Kitty also has the ability to disrupt any technology through which she phases, short circuiting or de-powering it. This concept forms the basis for a Theory Thursday entry suggesting that champs of all classes that employ technology could have a #circuitry hashtag that would allow Kitty to affect them.
Editor’s note. This entry remains under construction, as I have yet to do a full review of community archives searching for Summoner work-ups.
NEWS
December 3, 2020 ► Today the Marvel Strike Force Twitter account teased Kitty Pryde and Lockheed for their game. With her addition to MSF, Kitty Pryde is now in all the major Marvel mobile games except MCOC.
Septemper 25, 2020 ► Kitty has fallen to #4 most wanted champ.
September 14, 2020 ► According to the MCOC Wishlist Poll, Kitty Pryde is the #1 most-wanted champ among the MCOC Summoner community.
August 28, 2020 ► No dice. With the reveal of the September champs (Apocalypse and Professor X) it appears the pirate theme was not a reference to Kitty Pryde’s imminently joining any rosters.
August 26, 2020 ► In-game messages reveal that the September event quest, which some have theorized will bring the arrival of Kitty Pryde, will have a pirates theme and will be associated with Krakoa and House of X. Krakoa is the island on which Mutants congregate to live and coexist peacefully. Kitty famously failed to enter Krakoa, due to some interaction of her powers with the gateway that sorts out non-mutants. She instead became the leader of the new Marauders, ...dressed as a pirate captain.
July 1, 2020 ► (a) An in-app cutscene at the end of the monthly Event Quest features heavy House of X (“HOX”) flavor. Kitty features prominently in the HOX plot lines. (b) The “Champions of the Contest” roadmap Champion Tease suggests a coming other-half to a duo to which Magneto belongs. Many theorize this will be Professor X. In recent House of X story lines, Magneto has teamed with Professor X in leading a new Mutant civilization.
So could Kitty be the Mutant who can pose a threat to both of them? Most think a more likely fit would be Apocalypse. But Kitty does lead the pirate “Marauders” and “Hellfire Trading Company” as the captain Red Queen. The Hellfire Club has been a threat to Professor X and Magneto before. Could Kabam consider her a threat by extension?
February 6, 2019 ► In in-app Event Quest dialogue, a “Kat” is mentioned in passing during a conversation about things happening to mutants in the Battlerealm. The character gets stuck in a wall, which would seem to refer to Kitty Pryde’s phasing ability.

I've been thinking about how someone could probably, credibly argue that what they did with x-men green, and somewhat with the feminist themes in marauders, Duggan has presented an alternative to the vapid centricism that's frequently present in marvel comics. Like, what he writes isn't a both sides thing, it isn't respectability and civility - this is characters taking radical action.
This imaginary argument has entranced me and I'm just going to ramble about it
Fundamentally, I think this doesn't work as a defence of this writing. For a start, it's bad anyway. Like, the issues with the structureless self-indulgent blob of a story that is Marauders 2019 don't go away if you somehow manage to salvage the politics of it. Secondly, the "white feminist" vibes of Marauders are still not resolved by this defense. The fact that the series goes out of its way to retcon in victimhood of wealthy, villainous white women while ignoring the canon abuse of the queer men in the cast, while sidelining the poc and being just shamelessly "girl boss" in the least appealing way... that's all still true, yeah? Yeah. Yes, it is.
But like I've said before (I think?), if you enjoyed the feminist themes of the series, then great! Like, I'm glad you had a good time. Not everything has to be politically perfect to still have positives. Similarly with the eco-terrorist fantasy of X-Men: Green. If it works for you, go nuts.
But obviously, it didn't work for me.
I think the problem stems with the portraying of violence and specifically how it is framed in the story. So, the duggan-written x-men: green story centers around Nature Girl and Curse killing random men who are employed in industries that harm the environment. These killings are presented as triumphant moments, albeit dark ones. And at the end of the run, Krakoa itself (and Doug) is like "dw babes you did nothing wrong." But no. They're just killing random dudes and failing to help anybody.
It's not radical leftwing action, it's the vapid centrist idea of what radical leftwing activism is, right? They are literally being the "villain who has a good point but kills people so I guess he's bad", but being framed as the hero. The actual problem (i.e. presenting those who would try to bring about urgent change as inherently dangerous) is still there. So, yeah. I really don't think this would hold up as a defence of (duggan's run of) x-men green, because ultimately it buys into the same bullshit dichotomy.
Marauders has a similar problem, although it's less central to the story. Emma and Kate's "epic" takedown of Shaw is really brutally violent and entirely one-sided (for reasons that make no sense but whatever. It's not how his powers work. Plot hole. Ding.) and leaves him one-eyed and requiring a wheelchair to move. This is drawn out over several issues. And yes it does read as staggeringly ableist. The use of a wheelchair as punishment? It's just... I...
Duggan in general has an issue with the framing of violence in his stories. Elsewhere in Marauders, he has Bobby freeze a room full of guys, seriously hurting them, out of revenge/protectiveness over Kate. Which is fine as a dramatic moment, it's in character. But then later, one of those guys confronts him about how he literally froze his arm off and Bobby is like "wevs". That's weird, that's a weird way for a person to feel about that. Later, he has Bobby picking fights with random ice giants and presents it as fun and triumphant but no...? Starting fights on purpose? That's just a dick move. Or in X-Men, the controversial "Lorna puppeteers Laura's body" thing. It's clearly supposed to be comedic, but he draws it out over an entire comic and it just feels gross and nasty. Duggan is bad at framing violence in his stories. It's partly just forgetting that in-universe, the violence is real and has real consequences (so people should actually care more), and partly a problem imparting tone (things that are supposed to be fun don't feel fun).
So, the problem isn't really that our heroes (Kate and Emma) are being violent, but specifically the portrayal of it. It's presented as wholly triumphant and fun, when what we're being shown is really kind of rough. It's the tone problem. But if you were to interpret this as a radical feminist (like, "radical and feminist" not, like, "radfem") statement, then it's just nuts. Is this how we solve misogyny? No, obviously not. Like, this isn't a solution to anything and it just makes stuff worse.
So, the obvious thing to say here is that, well, the imaginary person I'm arguing against and I are both making the same mistake here. Neither of these stories are manifestos. They're exploitation stories. It's revenge fantasy. It's not a recommendation for action but rather an expression of anger at the system. This is true and tbh it's a very good point.
I think that exploitation (especially sexploitation) revenge narratives are really hard to get right. It's a delicate thing in general, and very subjective. Something might work amazingly for one person and be just offensive and awful to someone else. I, personally, don't find comfort in violent fantasies very often. It's not that I don't have those thoughts so much as they usually make me feel worse. But there are plenty of these types of stories that I do like, so idk maybe this is one of those times where it isn't working for me, but could be working well for someone else.
However, I do think the points about how violence is presented and framed are still relevant. What makes a revenge fantasy satisfying is really feeling the heroine's pain, feeling that her actions are justified, and being able to watch and enjoy without thinking "no, that's actually pretty nasty."
And, just circling back to what this was originally about, if you're not showing radical leftist action as actually doing anything good, then you're not doing a good job at endorsing it.

I’m on a boat

MARAUDERS #1 DECEMBER 2019 BY GERRY DUGGAN, MATTEO LOLLI AND FEDERICO BLEE
SYNOPSIS + REVIEW
Kitty Kate Pryde discovers her powers make it impossible for her to use the gates to Krakoa, so she steals a boat (deal with it) to go to the island.

When she is there, she is recruited by Emma Frost to form a small group to rescue mutants that want to join Krakoa but can’t.

Yes, I got it.

I am not exactly sure how Iceman went from closeted to making gay-jokes in just a few years. I am not even sure which version of the character this is. Is this the “original 5″ version, or the modern times version? I am honestly out of sync with the x-men.
Lockheed is cute, but he is kind of eating human fingers at a certain point... I wonder if these characters were always like this somehow? I know Kitty went through a lot of things lately, but stealing a boat doesn’t really help the mutant cause.
The way this team was assembles is also a bit lazy, it seems like people that were around at the time just joined.
I feel like it may not be the strongest first issue, but the book has potential, we’ll see where it takes us.
Is Iceman Marvel’s Nightwing? I can totally see him as a sex symbol.
I give the issue a score of 8.

Dispatch Rapid Fire Recap:
The series begins by introducing readers to a guy in a mask as well as a secret organization that seems to want to kill all mutants. Each member appears to be wearing a mask and seems very “Court of Owls”-ish in nature. But, it just so happens that Domino is undercover within this “court” and is discovered by a henchman and captured by the organization. Meanwhile, Ben Percy launches the cast of characters in the book and shows the Marauders on their return from saving Colossus who was near death rescuing mutants in Russia. Now, as if enough wasn’t already unfolding in this opening issue, readers see this group of sneaky looking humans board a plane and eventually hold it hostage, solely to paratroop down over Krakoa. As these super-advanced humans land on Krakoa, they begin to unload on the mutants killing anyone in their path while Jean, Wolverine, and Beast lay them out the best they can. The issue ends with Charles getting shot in the head by one of the superhumans and killed on the spot leaving us all with one question; can you resurrect the one who holds the key to resurrecting everyone else?

Dispatch Rapid Fire Recap:
Percy opens issue two with every mutant surrounding a dead Xavier while Magneto fashions a sword from the remnants of the portable Cerebro Charles has been sashaying around the world in. Meanwhile, Jean and Beast uncover a spare Cerebro and readers discover that Charles has been backing up his own mind periodically for this very reason. Hopefully, with Jean’s help as well as the Five, they can bring back Charles’ stored mind in a new body. However, as this aspect of the issue is developing, Sage discovers through an autopsy that these super-advanced humans were created like Reavers… but with more advancements. So, Wolverine and Kid Omega go hunting for answers is Seoul Korea. While there, Wolverine and Kid Omega uncover a flesh factory where these advanced humans are being created. And finally, after these monstrous creations come to life attacking Kid Omega and Wolverine, the two find themselves face to face with Domino, half skinned and trapped in a test tube.

Dispatch Rapid Fire Recap:
As Percy kicks off issue three, Wolverine and Kid Omega rescue Domino and slice their way out of this ungodly flesh factory. Meanwhile, Beast and Jean are in the process of resurrecting Charles and it appears to be successful. Still, as we check back to Sage continuing to examine the one living advanced human that infiltrated Krakoa, someone, unknown to readers and anyone in the story, comes out of the shadows and kills the advanced human before Sage can get any more information out of the assassin. Now, even though things just haven’t been going their way, X-Force and the rest of the mutants on Krakoa do manage a win before the issue is complete by proving to the human terrorists (and to the world) that Charles was never dead and is alive and kicking. Sure, readers know the truth… that he was murdered and brought back to life. But, to the world and the organization trying to assassin Charles, it never happened! And as the issue closes, X-Force is officially formed and the shadow organization gets a name… Xeno!

Dispatch Rapid Fire Recap:
Percy begins issue four with more of these advanced humans that appear to be operated by Xeno infiltrating a Krakoan Pharmaceuticals site of the east Coast. Beast, Sage, and Jean head to the Pharmaceutical site to see what happened and eventually report back to the Quiet Council their findings. Meanwhile, Wolverine, Domino, and Kid Omega meet up with Forge to get some new Krakoan tech before they leave on their next mission. As the issue comes to a close, another facility is under attack by these homemade military advanced humans sent by Xeno. They blow the Krakoan gate just as Wolverine and Kid Omega enter leaving Domino stuck on Krakoa. However, Wolverine and Kid Omega were not as lucky. The issue concludes with Wolverine cut in half and Kid Omega decapitated by the closing of the Krakoan gate. And boy oh boy it’s graphic!!!

Dispatch Rapid Fire Recap:
After issue four’s visual ending, Percy immediately throws readers into the story as issue five begins. Domino grabs Forge and Gateway (a teleporting mutant) and quickly heads to the facility to save what’s left of Wolverine who just so happens to be crawling around and killing any of the guys he can find! After these “Mercs” drill Logan with an onslaught of bullet holes and leave him to die, Domino, Forge, and Gateway make their grand entrance carrying with them the lower half of Wolverine. Forge jams both pieces of Wolverine together to heal up while Domino leads the charge to stop Xeno’s infiltration of the Krakoan Pharmaceuticals facility from the last issue. As the story concludes, we find out that these people who infiltrated the base were actually human and not DNA lab rats modified by Xeno. Were they sent by Xeno or was this another group positioning themselves on the mutant front? Well, as the issue ends, readers get another glimpse of the peacock man running Xeno who supposedly hired them to get some of the Krakoan tech, petals, and organic batteries. So, not only is Xeno creating their own advanced humans BUT they are also hiring mercenaries and militias to do their work for them too. Therefore, it appears as though their influence and wealth are large and they have their hands in multiple cookie jars.

Dispatch Rapid Fire Recap:
Ben Percy kicks off issue six with the beginning of a new angle and storyline for the team. X-Force heads to Terra Verde to fight plant people… or so it seems from the opening pages. It appears as though the President of Terra Verde was attacked while Charles was there on a diplomatic mission to produce a treaty with their nation. However, the current plant beings/ hostile botanical creatures that were intermingled amongst the Terra Verde people didn’t take too kindly to the mutants creating a relationship/ partnership with their nation. Additionally, we find out that their local researchers somehow created these telefloronic creatures on their own, which is extremely interesting that they appear to have no connection to Xeno whatsoever. So, with some thorough research, Beast discovers that these telefloronic creatures are like an organic equivalent to an Omega Sentinel. As the story wraps up, it seems as though the President’s son was infected by these plant beings and planned a coup to take control of the Terra Verde nation. And again, as the issue concludes, Beast captures the President’s son and basically makes him a vegetable in order to stop these Terra Verde creations from going global. Furthermore, the scientists at Terra Verde were on the verge of creating their own version of Krakoan medicines that would be comparable, which is ultimately why Beast made the President’s son a vegetable in the first place. Moreover, the Terra Verde Scientists had the ability to weaponize humans using plant-based technology. So, Beast made the only one with the knowledge (the President’s son who was also a lead scientist) a vegetable while selling himself on the fact he was doing good for the economic structure of the Terra Verde country. Wow!!! Nonetheless, the issue ends with the President’s son going through some type of plant evolution and escaping the hospital he was being housed in while releasing a dangling plot thread to be picked up later.

Dispatch Rapid Fire Recap:
Percy opens issue seven with someone assassinating multiple people who appear to be important mutant supporters or believers. Somehow, someone is killing these people using some luck-altering tech or possibly using a mutant ability from another individual who’s luck has seemed to run out recently (cough… Domino). So Domino, who’s been struggling as of late to deal with the actions done to her by Xeno in that disgusting flesh factory from earlier, attempts to track down this lucky assassin to see if she may be able to get a bit of her own luck back. As the issue concludes, readers get a glimpse of who Domino has been tracking… and it looks like a clone of Domino but with reversed skin color which happens to kind of explain where her luck has been lately… I suppose…

Price: $3.99
Release Date: February 26th, 2020

Dispatch Rapid Fire Recap:
Percy continues the story from the last issue and opens with Domino getting the jump on her doppelgänger and shooting her down dead to rights! After bringing the body back for Sage to look at, it appears as though this Domino isn’t a clone as much as a human who’s DNA has been woven with Domino’s X-gene. And, Sage makes it clear that Xeno can mass create many more of these lucky assassins. So, after a midnight heart to heart with Colossus, the two mutants struggling the most with PTSD (Colossus and Domino) head to take down a train filled with human/ Domino hybrids as well as a new mobile flesh factory on a train. Colossus and Domino take down the hybrids and destroy the train but at the cost of Domino’s life. As she was about to die knowing that she will eventually be resurrected at some point, Domino asks Colossus to tell the Professor to keep her memories from her capture. Even though the Professor could bring her back without them, she has come to terms with the fact that they are now an important part of her life. Lastly, the story concludes with the head of Xeno/ the peacock man getting a visit by a shadowy figure. Is it the same shadowy figure from Krakoa earlier who killed the captured advanced human? Who knows? But, it seems like the peacock man may not be at the top of the food chain after all.

Dispatch Rapid Fire Recap:
In issue nine, Percy uses this story to jump back into the Terra Verde tale from earlier. After a rousing game of Russian Roulette with claws between Wolverine and Daken, readers see Domino back in the living but without her memories of the events that happened during her capture in Korea. The curious question is… why? We were led to believe last issue that she wanted to keep her memories that haunted her. I guess we shall see as the series unfolds. Next, the issue moves to Wolverine, Kid Omega, and Domino having more gate trouble as they attempt to go back to Terra Verde. Readers discover that the gate is covered with plants and human life so no one can come through from Krakoa. So, Kid Omega blows a hole through the gate and clears a path for the team to enter. As they infiltrate Terra Verde, the team learns that the Telefloronics have taken over the entire nation. The issue concludes with Beast tracking down a drunk Black Tom Cassidy to help the X-Force team that’s trapped in Terra Verde surrounded by bio-mutated plant, human, and animal life. The only one who appears to have survived as the issue closes is Kid Omega screaming through his comm to Beast that these telefloronics are a God!
