Fun witchy things to spice up your school/uni/college year

School/uni starts in late Jan/late Feb here in Australia so leave me alone if you're already in the middle of your school year lol /hl. These are just a few things I did when I was in HS and intend to do now that I'm going to university next year.

Enchant your water bottle with cleansing/purifying energy. The water will cleanse your energy this way. I do this to help me chill the fuck out. I do not do well with academics and the last thing I need is to pick up other people's stress.

Draw sigils for academic success in the back of your notebooks and planners.

Try binding your hair or veiling this school year! It doesn't have to be for religious reasons, it can just be to protect your energy.

Colour code your books or folders to what you need from each subject and set the intention accordingly! For example, red for math because you need confidence and strength or green for science because you need some extra luck in that subject.

Do you remember the erasers with yes and no written on them? Yeah! Make one of those and flip it for on the fly divination! It actually works if you put enough intention into it and it's a fun way to pass time.

Use colour magick in your outfits and shoes/shoe laces! This is a lot of effort so I've rarely do it but I've heard a lot of good things from people who regularly do. Just be careful that you don't accidentally send a nasty lace code message with your docks (or other boots) and shoe laces.

More colour magick but get coloured pens that correspond with your wanted intention! The ink could be coloured or just the outside, it's up to you.

If you pack your own lunch try your hand at some kitchen magick this year! Deli meats, bread, butter, pasta, tofu, etc all have their own uses and meanings. You can do some amazing stuff with food! I really recommend you try it at least once :)

Set your computer's folders names to affirmations or intentions! "I have incredible grades" "I respect my physical and mental needs" "I have the perfect work/school/life balance" are all examples.

This is less about school/uni/college but enchant any jewellery you wear with protection or dedicate it to a deity!

Again, not super school related but do a glamour spell with your skin care and/or make up. It just puts me in a good mood and sets the tone for the day.

I ACCIDENTLY DELETED AN ASK IM SO SORRY-

And yes of course! I even have one that's Bat au (of course I've never posted about her because she's 100% self insert Y/N coded so purely for my cringe self indulgence)

Short background Summary-

Odette Wayne (Blood daughter, a few years older than Dick)

Bruce discovered she existed after publicly taking in Dick (her mom realized he might not be a complete playboy, and they split custody)

She finds out about Batman and Robin- demands to help, and becomes Sparrow

Without extreme conditioning/training- she focuses more on helping Victims/"aftercare" of an attack

Sparrow steps back after Odette graduates HS- goes to College, and later gets into Med school

When Dick gets fired and then becomes Nightwing- Odette becomes the in between (and Bruce whole place in the situation started a lil crack in their already somewhat strained relationship)

Odette had all but quit the mask, until Jason became Robin #2 (which- more issues w/ Bruce) And she was determined for the kid to not have BRUCE as the "responsible adult" in his life

Makes a promise to Jason involving "Blood of the coven is thicker than the water of the womb" that she would fight Bruce, if it meant protecting him

Odette gets in a big fight with Bruce- joins Dick to space mission to cool off

Ethiopia.

When Tim comes on scene, she's just as pissed as Dick- but has the same promise of not wanting the kid to deal with Bruce alone

(JJ happens at some point, idk when- but of course Joker returns)

At this point shes fully taken over Leslies clinic so the poor woman can retire- shes the first to hear whispers of a new face in the alley.

Red Hood leaves the clinic alone. But threatening Tim? Odette wont lose another Robin.

Shenanigans- and she discovers who he is?

Long story short- Odette becomes the one to finally "get rid" of the Joker- but unlike Jasons whole philosphy of kill to claim a role that would otherwise go to another?

She fully believes killing is wrong- but she ALSO believes that commiting the worst sin is worth it to keep her family safe. As a result leading a peak to Bruce and hers fucked relationsip.

Best part? As a doctor, and someone who "learned from the best" Bruce cant prove she did it.

He knows. She KNOWS he knows. But only Jason had it confirmed

(of course more lore w/ the other Batfam- and their relationshops- I just fixated on her for various scene scenerios- mostly involving Bruce getting told to stfu and Joker being discarded meat chunks in space )

Banished! To The Horse Realm

(page 1328-1348)

One thing about whatever far future planet this is taking place on is they have the Kool-Aid Man. Perhaps a true constant of all worlds.

As it hurtles towards the finish line, this intermission hits maybe its three best jokes all in a row. Following all the other time powers we’ve learned about, Cans’ being that he clocks you makes me so mad. Honestly the joke would work even if he just punched really well, but, it gets followed up with Diamonds Droog grocery shopping and the Spirited Horse calendar.

Droog grocery shopping is funny to me because imagining any of these guys going about their day to day lives is funny. The knowledge that their city has cars and grocery stores opens up so many possibilities. Do these guys have families or roommates or perhaps even pets? I can imagine Diamonds Droog with a wife and kids but I can also imagine Droog living in a cool bachelor pad with Slick where they share groceries. Do they have hobbies outside violence, porn and playing cards? There’s also casinos, so do Slick and Deuce meet up for a whiskey on the rocks over the craps table every Thursday? Is this true of the Felt too? Do Eggs and Biscuits have day jobs working in an actual kitchen? Does Stitch freelance as a ballgown designer? This is what the next intermission will be about hopefully.

Anyway the edits of Hearts Boxcars into each month of the Spirited Horse character is an all timer. Imagine you’re trying to take some justified revenge on a rival until they banish you to the farmland to atone for your crimes. Cans’ powers are probably the worst to be on the receiving end of, and might have the longest term impact (besides Snowman’s). Like, what if Boxcars had plans? He probably had a concert lined up for next month, and maybe his daughter has a big birthday coming up?

There’s another Problem Sleuth reference where Boxcars hurls Eggs’ torso towards Cans ‘in an attempt to placate him with the red meat’ (p.1333) under a flashing gif reading ‘BATTLE TECHNIQUE: TORSO FLAIL’, which links to Problem Sleuth page 218, where Ace Dick tries the same move on a nearby beast. While Ace Dick is successful in placating the beast with the red meat, it doesn’t work for Boxcars (leading to horse antics). The Midnight Crew originally came from Problem Sleuth bonus content, and have interacted with them in Homestuck canon (p.833), so it’s fun to think that they’re beholden to the laws of the PS universe as well as the HS universe, or a hybrid between them.

After the good goofs things get very real, very quickly. Slick wrenches open the safe with the crowbar despite Clover’s warnings, proving he was able to risk any amount of bad luck and also the lives of his own gang in order to get to English’s secret treasure. Like either Slick is just this ruthless all the time and willing to throw his friends under the bus at a moment’s notice, or this is the ONE cause he is ride or die for.

I would lean towards the second option because it seems like the vault used to belong to Slick himself, judging by the spade scanner and Slick’s arm holding the code to get inside. And I would guess this is some Skaian technology since Slick and his barcode were likely programmed on the ominous planet. I’ve noted before how a construct who looks like Boxcars is carrying a safe that looks like English’s on page 957 – could this be Jack Noir’s equivalent safe? Back when Spades Slick oversaw the affairs of a dark kingdom, he owned this safe and keeps something important in it; Snowman knows this because she was there too, and while she can’t get inside, she can betray Slick by giving the safe to English? Maybe??

If so, she really doesn’t want him getting back in, or she’s just pissed off with him and taking revenge in general. She looks extremely cool standing framed in the doorway holding a gun – the circle of white behind her looks like a giant cue ball guiding her plans from behind. They have a cool but brief fight and she teleports away, locking him in the vault.

I mean. Clover did warn him about the bad luck.

But now I understand why there was just an extended conversation between Slick and Droog about the right-left eye and the sprites’ abilities to face in different directions.

By brute force destroying the entire mansion (including 1000 clocks) and killing every character except three, this intermission has managed to tie up most of its threads, except for the two biggest open questions: what is in this safe, and who is Lord English?

CLASSPECT THEORIES

So classpects are still, for the most part, kind of vague. The only confirmed pairs we have are the Master Classes of Lord/Muse, the Taker classes of Thief/Rogue, and the Destroyer classes of Prince/Bard.

Aside from that, we know Seer, Maid, and Heir are passive, and Witch and Knight are active. I've been thinking on the rest, and I'd like to propose my theory. Long post under the break.

First of all, I think we've got Seer figured wrong. It's not just "To Know". It's *To Guide/Instruct/Advise*. Seers are advisors, confidants, prognosticators. They accrue and distribute information to assist their fellow players. They've often been paired with Mages but I'd contend that their active equivalent is actually the Sylph, exemplified in the tendency of the class to *actively* Instruct others; the famous meddling of Kanaya and Aranea. In particular, I think Aranea exemplifies the actively meddlesome nature contrasting to a Seers passive advice. The Sylph seeks to enact their preferred vision.

So, where does that leave the Mage? I think it's the passive equivalent of the Witch. They have semantic similarity as magicians, and I think they're a pair built on the verb Change/Manipulate/Influence; my main evidence for this is how Sollux codes the virus Karkat runs which dooms the trolls.

Knight/Heir is my next suggested pairing. We know from dialogue in HS^2, commentary from Calliope, that the Knight is an active class; the verb Wield keeps popping up. I think Knights & Heirs both Wield, or Exploit, their Aspect, with John's retcon powers being the ultimate Wielding of Breath.

Finally, we come to my favorite, and most contentious pair. Page/Maid, the Servant classes. I think these exist in parallel to the Master classes, on the other end of the spectrum. Why do I say this, and why do I put Page as the active class? It starts with some strange similarities I noticed between Tavros and Caliborn's sessions. Namely, while Caliborn must acquire the Felt to navigate his null session, Tavros communes with the imps to assemble an army of his own. And then I thought, well, isn't it interesting that Jake created Brain Ghost Dirk to assist him? Could there be some connection there? They also all have a singular Helper essential to their development. Caliborn has Gamzee, Tavros has Vriska, Jake has Dirk. The interesting thing is that, with pages specifically, this helper seems to *hinder* them, while still genuinely wanting their success. My contention is that a Pages journey is about overcoming the aspirations of this Other to assert their own desires; and that the class is primarily concerned with a verb of creation, or becoming; that they begin to assert their will upon the world. I've paired them with the Maid as they're thematically related as words referring to Servants. I think there are likely interesting parallels between how maids in a sense become their Aspect and Aradia's existence being Weird in a way similar to Alt!Calliope, but I haven't looked into Maids as much yet so I don't have a lot of meat there.

How do ya capture the "voice" of homestuck characters so well? Besides studying the comic, is there any other media you consume to really get in their head?

First off: Thanks, i’m happy you enjoy my stuff! Secondly… there ARE a few steps i take to the madness.

I basically come from a Dungeon master/Open-world roleplay management background, so when approaching HS cast voices and trying to understand a character to write a story for them i usually take into account 1.INSPIRATIONS, 2.INTERESTS & due to homestuck’s nature, 3.INTERPRETATIONS (As opposed to “player intent”- Hussie’s work is an amalgam of himself and the public input.)

Rereading their logs/sections always helps when you’re trying to figure out their language, pacing, and a bit of their temperament, but getting too lost on mimicking their messages as-is without looking into the character itself may risk leaving them ringing hollow or repetitive (specially for the section of the public that may be more familiar with this character than you are. This is something that may matter to you or not, if you WANT this work to appeal to a specific public or are just messing around.) Because it may just come down to mindless quirk indulgence. In my experience, readers are more forgiving & enthralled by creators who, while not following the specifics of a character’s quirk to a T maintain a sense of internal logic that is congruent with what is shown throughout their appearances. Some AU’s specifically remix, remove or substitute these aspects, and the reason why people usually don’t complain about it is that “it makes sense- given (x) and (x) context.” Like kidswap aus, etc. 

Another thing about Quirks is that they can very easily be broken. Having a grasp of how quirk rules affect a character based on their emotional state and how it changes over time is more valuable than internalizing a hard set of rules that never changes. (Ex: Sollux’ quirk evolves over time. So does Aradia’s, as she changes bodies. June’s quirk takes on Vriska-like qualities after they begin chatting, Vriska uses 8’s and exclamation points more liberally and/or nonsensically when she’s angry/distressed/desperate, Jake’s transatlantic slang and embellishment of speech is mostly at the backseat unless he’s pretending/anxious/overwhelmed, otherwise he’s pretty simple.) Knowing how to break a quirk is just as good as knowing how to write it - traditional prose in fics *may not use quirks at all*, but they’re so good at grasping the particular intonation a character uses when stringing words together at a given situation that you don’t mind that at all. It’s a smooth adaptation.

“INSPIRATIONS” are usually how i define character personalities by their distinct mix of archetypes. This is the “PROTAGONIST”, “GOTH GIRL”, “SILLY GIRL”, “COOL GUY”, “WEIRDO”, “GAMER GIRL”, “CODING WANNABE” and other such little buzzwords that HS will throw around in reference to each of its characters, and that usually, but not always, function as a setup to subvert the expectations based on that character come a certain point in the story. Where does the character you’re trying to write fall into, when you try to describe them in these terms? Does their story humour this definition, reject it, destroy it, or evolve it? Does this seem like a genuine fact about them, or a facade? Why do you think that is? (Asking questions is my preferred way of pulling apart and understanding a character, this may work differently for you.)

“INTERESTS” is where i look into for that chunky, fatty, well-grilled meat that goes in the middle of a character’s text. Homestuck characters are defined by what they like, what they aspire to be, and what they fail at becoming(& how that shapes their actions going forwards). Interacting with the media they like may not always be the way, but having a general idea of how it functions and what it means to them is usually very helpful. I was already familiar with a lot of things my favorite characters enjoy, and thus it was easier for me to get attached to them. I also had to watch a lot of shitty movies sometimes. You win some, you lose some.

EX: It’s easier to write Dave’s pov if you have a good grasp of the pop culture & economics he so often references. (What he likes) It’s easier to write Rose’s pov when you’ve searched a bit of armchair psychology wikipedia definitions and familiarized yourself with the genre and existential questions usually involved in Eldritch Horror, and how it evolved outside of Lovecraft. (What she aspires to be like) It’s easier to write Jake when you understand his persona is a collage of juvenile and outdated archetypes taken from action flicks & shitty mainstream comicbooks, that he ultimately fails to ever live up to and hinders his development as a kid at odds with self-imposed traditional masculinity, dreading to publicize the big “Gay” word. (What he fails at becoming)

It’s always useful to ask yourself “Why does this character like (x)” and what that particular thing may say about them. It doesn’t have to be a big groundbreaking revelation, just put yourself into their shoes and try to reverse engineer what you’re presented about them vs their environment, personal issues, and you might just find yourself understanding why they do what they do. 

“Karkat probably likes cheesy romantic comedies because they’re peak middleclass normalass media for someone who’s ostracized from troll society and is purposefully a shithead to keep people away”

“Terezi probably likes dragons because they’re FUCKING COOL but also whoops here’s all this historic lore about Redglare and their lusus and a tragic sense of JUST1C3”

“Aradia probably grapples with the concept of mortality and the ephemeral nature of life, so she’s really into the morbid observation of disasters & archeology & bones, i guess? Is this because she died really young? Oh. Maybe yeah.”

But if you find the above too hard to access on your own, that’s where 

INTERPRETATIONS come in to make this process smoother in the case you just wanna write an extended cast thing and frankly you could not give less of a shit about (x)’s lore, you just want to have a sense of what people like about them, and why people read about them, and how you can purposefully adapt that into your text so socmedia user halfucker69 isn’t crying on your mentions for 11 whole threaded comments about how you did their babyboybaby wrong. I can’t exactly point to you where you can FIND meta because this highly depends on the character, and sometimes you just have to make your own food, but you’ll be good if you try to look into creators who post about these characters, whose thoughts or fan media seem to be congruent with your idea of said character or solid enough that you can easily see how it’s been developed from point A to point B. Interact with more fanworks. Find out what works for you and what doesn’t. “Character study” is a whole genre of fanfic, if you don’t wanna go for shippy stuff - but a lot of “shippy stuff” has its own valuable edge to seeing how people internalize a character, and shouldn’t be as easily dismissable as it is. Again, you’ll have to rely on your own sense of internal logic here - you can’t take EVERY work as the universal truth, but trying stuff out will give you a better sense of who you think this character is.

Then you have to get around trying to write it, which is easier said than done. A lot of times writing about a character will lead you to understanding them better, and you may even find yourself disagreeing with things past-you said when you were first beginning to think about them, and that’s ok. You only get better at writing by asking better questions and then writing some more. Take your time with it. I hope this helps!

I don't expect a super serious answer from this, but I'm just curious. in a perfect world, how would hs^2 be written? do you have any particular headcanons or plot lines that would be interesting to explore? I understand the hesitation in answering a question like this, because other people might try to discredit your critiques under the guise of "well its not ur headcanons so that's why ur mad". anyways, just curious because I respect your perspective and ideas

In complete honesty? The first thing I would consider vital is a diverse team of people - genuinely diverse - to consider every point of representation with. I’m talking people of different races (to avoid the anti-black coding of Gamzee), with mental illnesses (to avoid the ableism in both Gamzee and Dirk), with different gender identities (to more accurately and healthily portray Jade, Roxy, Vriska, June - any character we could feasibly want to make trans or nonbinary), with different romanticisms and sexualities (so that we could write genuine MLM and WLW relationships without falling into homophobic pitfalls; to avoid biphobic stereotypes), and overall, with different traumatic experiences and triggers (so that we could more accurately gauge what triggers would need to be tagged and how to go over them in an appropriate and respectful manner).

We could never be 100% perfect, but with a team like that, we could at least get close to it. 

Additionally, I’d bring back either fan prompts or closely listen to fan theories and conversations. Homestuck^2 was touted to be written with the fandom in mind; to consider the direction we were asking it to go in, while basing it around a general barebones structure. I’d want to make sure we were including as much of that in as humanly possible. So, if a fan theory seemed like it’d fit into the story? I’d want to include that with the rest of the text; if the fans liked a specific character? I’d want to try and include them more often. Little things to show that we’re listening and that we’re writing the story WITH the fans - like how early Homestuck used to be.

On an actual storyline basis, I really do love the concept of Meat and Candy; that there’s one timeline that goes off the rails and one that is very rigidly stuck to a track. I wouldn’t want to change that concept entirely, but I would want to make it more palpatable for people to read. 

This would mean, for me, absolutely getting rid of anything to do with Yiffany. I’d completely replace that with Dave and Jade having a child together via ectobiology; how Jade has to raise their child in Dave’s absence after he goes missing, how that affects her, who she turns to for comfort and help. 

I’d want to focus Candy more on that feeling of helplessness and dissociation. On John feeling adrift in a world that doesn’t quite connect with him, that doesn’t entirely feel real; how that would affect his relationships, his friends, his family. In this timeline, all of the rebellion stuff would be completely background to the interpersonal connections everyone has (the things that supposedly don’t matter, as is the point of Candy), with much more emphasis on how useless and frivolous the whole war is. It’d get to a point where nobody actually knows why they’re fighting anymore except for the fact that they are, and that even Jane, who started it out of a genuine fear for the human race, is getting tired of it, is losing resources, is starting to realise that she’s drifting away from her own child. 

A truce would be garnered, started by Jane who just very much wants to reconnect with her son, with Karkat taking on the role as troll emissiary. It features long talks in a large, empty room, pouring over papers, where Jane admits that she doesn’t actually know what anyone is up to these days, how long it’s been since she’s seen her husband, since she’s seen John, and Karkat quietly confesses that it’s been several years since he’s seen Dave or Jade, and that he misses them both. 

After that, a lot of the content of Candy would focus on healing. They would get back to their happily ever after, even though some things would never be the same, and there would still be inconsequentialities. It would also correspond with John coming to the slow realisation that he really doesn’t need a plot to be happy at all; that just because it doesn’t matter to the overarching story doesn’t mean it can’t matter to him. 

The Candy timeline, therefore, would close early; it would fade from our view just as Dirk feared, but it would be happy and content, and free from any further meddling. I’d essentially want to enforce this idea that, yes, we can still have happy endings - even if they aren’t “full of meaning”. They can still be satisfying.

The Meat timeline, on the other hand, would have a significant focus on Dirk and his attempts to continue the plot. I think it would be fun, admittedly, if nothing went the way he thought it would. That after all of his villany and his acceptance of destruction in order to facilitate something he thought would be better, he actually just lost complete and utter control. 

The plot isn’t something that he alone can continue. It’s created with character conflict, with motivations and rises and falls and losses and gains; trying to recreate SBURB, to try and restart the cycle, isn’t what a plot needs to be. It isn’t what he thinks it will do. 

I’m unsure if you’ve seen this recently, but there’s been a lot of fanwork around the Lord!Jake English idea that went around several years back (when people saw the Caliborn sona). Now, this I’d want to put into it. 

Jake, fed up with being stepped on, walked over, hurt, suffering from the trauma of being completely and utterly ruined by Dirk, absolutely flips shit. He chases after Dirk to seek revenge, to cut short whatever bullshit he’s trying to do, and therefore much of the comic becomes this constant back and forth with an increasing fear for Dirk the closer Jake gets as he traverses Paradox Space.

It’s very much clear that when Jake arrives, Dirk will lose. There’s no question about it. Nobody suggests that anything else will happen. There’s several arguments on Meat’s Earth C over whether or not they should try to stop Jake, or let him stop Dirk - and whether or not Jake will calm down afterwards or continue his rampage. 

In the end, Dirk fails. Jake catches up to him, and just before he hits the killing blow, the entire thing goes dark. Our narrator dead, the plot abandoned; there is nothing more to see. This I would want to use to enforce the idea that, yes, plot can still be satisfying as hell and still have integral moments and be heavy and harsh - but it can also end in a way that leaves open questions because that shows that it isn’t the best ending you can get. 

And then we jump back to Terezi, using her Seer powers. Both timelines have been her trying to use her powers to See what’s in store, where she should go, what she should do. She’s still floating through Paradox Space, looking for Vriska, and as such she’s met with this... sort of internal dilemma. 

She knows, now, that the chances of her dying out here are high. She also knows that even if she does survive, she’s pretty much never going to see Vriska again anyway. She knows there’s a chance at a happier relationship with John, and that the only way she can get that is if she somehow manages to make a timeline where Meat and Candy merge together at once. 

So, she flies back. She manages to arrive on Earth C the day of John’s big decision, and interrupts him before he can go to the picnic. Through their dialogue, John gets it stuck in his head that, hey, there’s something BIGGER out here that you need to do, but you need to do that amazing thing again where you make a third Choice.

When John arrives at the picnic, he decides to eat some of the pumpkin instead - to which you might be thinking, what pumpkin? The one he put there, of course, using his retcon powers.

So we start on the Pumpkin timeline, written entirely in the 1st person narrative from John’s POV. It’s a completely biased interpretation of what’s going on, but it’s honest to John’s own thoughts and feelings, too, allowing everyone to act the way they usually would do without any influence, but still having a narrative touch. 

It shows John actively fighting to free the timeline from Dirk’s and Alternate Calliope’s narrative controls, those little hooks they’ve planted in it since time began, with a lot of back-and-forth as the two talk to John through the narration (which, he hears their voices as thoughts in his head). 

John attempts to free them both from their own biases and chains, encouraging Alternate!Calliope to leave the space she’s isolated herself in and join Earth C while convincing Dirk to undo the bullshit villain schtick he’s on (and that plot or no plot, there’s still a reason worth living for). 

It’d be a timeline filled with references back to original Homestuck (and funny quips from both Alternate!Calliope and Dirk along the way), a lot of morality discussion, plenty of theorising on narrative control and arcs and the placement of plot and fluff in a satisfying story, and have plenty of representation and romance and hints towards kids, too (such as nonbinary RoxyJaneCallie, DaveJadeKat, aromantic Jake, JohnDirk [because I couldn’t stop myself, honestly, with how their Classpects work so well hand in hand], and definitely RoseMary being the first to adopt a child that they absolutely do not call Vriska). 

It’d fill plotholes the fandom wants to be filled, and it’d have drama, of course, in the form of figuring out a way to destroy Lord English that doesn’t inherently lead to the Candy timeline. But it’d go back and forth between the heavy, plot-filled moments and the slower, relationship-based moments, with more humanising and development of Dirk and Alternate!Calliope and John as rounded characters.

That’s the best my tired mind can come up with right now. It’s something I’ve daydreamed about a lot, actually; how I’d rewrite Homestuck^2, or what my own ending to Homestuck would be using it as a foundation. I hope it makes sense! It’s a fun little thought experiment, honestly.

friendly reminder about roxy and their character

with the new homestuck^2 upd8 giving a canon design to transmasc roxy, i would like to remind y’all that roxy is one of the most unintentionally transfemme-coded characters in the comic. there is definitely going to be people that are going to debate me about this, but i am going off my personal experience as a trans woman here. im gonna be real hussie does not have the brain cells to properly write a trans character (or hell like even handling LGBTQ+ characters well, this is a callout post to his formspring), but roxy is a really good example of unintentional transfemme coding that's done very well imo. to her interests (programming, video games, etc.) that line up w/ alot of common interests that transfemme people have, to her overperformed femininity that trans women commonly have, to her isolation that rlly fits the lonely trans girl trope, and hell like even her name and the genetic hinting that it had in comic! not to mention like roxy was The Character that trans women and transfemme peeps (myself included) rlly self-projected and attached to, and was widely headcanoned and theorized to be transfemme bc of that stuff and her unintentional rlly good transfemme coding too so like, it really doesn't sit well with me that transmasc roxy was basically canonized in the epilogues and hs^2, because of how the epilogues were intentionally written to cause drama and start shit for the sake of starting shit, and like? there's no way that hussie and the schmucks working on the epilogues weren't NOT aware of how widely popular the transfemme roxy headcanon was on top of all that plus like, why would you canonize the most transfemme coded character in the comic as transmasc, despite the fact that both dave and dirk were widely headcanoned to be transmasc? it really comes off as a deliberatley hostile move towards transfemme homestuck fans, especially considering that they also twisted jade into a very harmful and transphobic trope that fetishizes trans women and gets trans women killed and getting into the meat of transmasc roxy in the epilogues (no pun intended), they really just sorta threw out what made roxy interesting and memorable as a character along w/ alot of their defining traits just to make them "yeah they're Dave But Pink now, that's it", and just playing it up for jokes--especially considering they also basically made dirk a transphobe redditor too (and i will fistfight whoever is responsible for that). it just really comes off as a deliberately hostile move against transfemme homestuck fans, and i wouldn't be surprised if it was confirmed to be one--considering that the epilogues were intentionally written to upset people for the sake of upsetting people too. and it really upsets me that like hs^2 is a direct continuation of the epilogues too, the epilogues had the factor that it was just in text--which helped make shit somewhat bearable and more easy to brush off, but now that hs^2 is both in text and visual just, it terrifies me to see transmasc roxy essentially set in stone and there's Nothing that i can do about it, and considering that the eps/hs^2 are canon despite the fact that it tries to pull "it's not canon! i swear!" all the way home but it knows and we know that it's canon. another reason why transmasc roxy is very upsetting and a trigger to me is alot of the reaction that people had to them, and how pretentiously aggressive people got when it came to defending them after the epilogues dropped (i'm talking shit like "if you use she/her for roxy you're a transphobe!!" being all over the roxy tag on tumblr and twitter, and how roxy's mspawiki page was straight-up a warzone), and how people just relentlessly talked over transfemme people that were genuinely hurt and upset over transmasc roxy being canonized i should say that while i personally don't care for it, i don't have any issues w/ transmasc roxy as a headcanon, as i think there's room for it to be genuinely interesting and unique if done properly as a headcanon. it's just transmasc roxy in the epilogues i can't see in a good light, and i honestly think it's a deliberate act of aggression against transfemme homestuck fans bc "oh? you have this character that was heavily coded and headcanoned to be transfemme? guess what babey they're transmasc now i guess we rlly subverted your expectations hahaha" i also think that like, even if transfemme roxy was confirmed in the epilogues, there's no way that it would've been done properly and not played up as a joke--especially considering Redditor Dirk, and how they made jade a walking transphobic trope that fetishizes trans women and gets trans women killed and played it up as a joke (which i mentioned earlier) imo just, i honestly think the epilogues should've kept the identities of the characters ambigious and open to the reader's interpretation and headcanons, but that's just me

Zombies: Ok so i consistently thought of this through hs and college. Now it just pops into my head every so often. While I don't ever feel like I want a gun of my own it just came up at dinner last night that a friend is gonna work to get their license here and I'm thinking of tagging along cause I dont wanna be in a situation where I dont know how to use it and also suck at aiming. So practice practice.

Also as for where to hide out. I currently live in the southern appalachias and I think mountains are totes the best place to be for zombies. I've also thought rhat while most people will be headed to walmarts or lowes and places like that I'm gonna skip those as they will probs have a high infection rate in the beginning. People be hidin wounds and shit. So no thanks to epicenter places. Even these buildings in rural areas are gonna be a no for me. I do think I'd hit up any smaller medical pharmacy and such if others had already broken in to begin looting--tho with this recent year's experience the panic buying of pains meds and stuff may deplete those rather quickly, outside of the like stronger stuff in the back you'd need prescriptions for. Which would be my main objective in a looting situation! First my own depression meds and shit cause i dont want to deal with that on top of the apocalypse. And then higher dose pain meds for when I now doubt have to amputate someone's limbs who has an extremity bite. But also like common first aid stuff in bulk. Cause the goal is to hole up somewhere far away from populations.

Also there is an army surplus store around here so I'd have a friend go with me if we had early stage warnings and stock up on MREs. Dried beans, rice and other non parishables. Oh! And water pruification tablets/drops. I have a life straw but not passin that around.

as for shelter I was thinking that most public land agencies (of which I work for one and wouldnt have thought of this otherwise) but they generally have multiple maintenance yards/compounds that are generally completely fenced in with sliding gate systems that work with a code, which hopefully could be modified to be done by human effort to conserve energy resources. There are also a number of places that have solar panels on buildings here so tracking those down to being to whichever maint. yard my crew chooses. Probs would be stickin with coworkers and callin close friends to invite them here. Then it'd be a matter of building up the integrity of the fence structure, adding in barriers to keep things further from the chainlink, ala the way Negan's camp is in the walking dead?? where they even employed zombie wardens out front to cut down on humans trying to infiltrate.

There is also my thought that I may consider moving north where snowfall and ice are more prevalent. It'd be fuckin miserable to live theough the winters. But on the off chance zombies existed even though I feel like rotting corpses couldn't maintain the musculature control to remain upright for long--plus without pain sensations they're more likely to overexert their muscles and stuff which leads to tears in muscles or tendons which would lead to lower mobility I could assume. Since pain keeps us from breaking ourselves by not exerting to our fullest capabilities. Anywho, regardless of all that. Heavy snowfalls and freezing temps should render them almost inert in the harsh northern winters. Making them easier for human hunting parties up for the task, to decimate their populations around the area.

Though the thaw in summer would probs be awful with the smell, while our mighty decomposers do their job! not to mention these wonderful animals, insects included, who have larvae that thrive on eating rotting meat? those guys will be active during the warmer times and help more quickly decompose the zombies. Yay nature havin our ill-adapted/evolved humans!!

So then it's a matter of waiting out things. I may even draft up a email with my plan to be able to mass send through our agency servers so others could hopefully mimic in their areas so that we could have multiple holdouts of humans to be able to have an better mix of human genetic diversity once we wait out the zombie decomposition and need to repopulate.

Also, another thought. I'm sure many Indigenous people, especially those unfortunately forced on reservations, will be amazing strongholds. Cause when they shut their borders they SHUT their borders lol From experience with the tribe next to my park and their protocols for the early pandemic. So potentially calling in friends and contacts to set up alliances eventually.

I think that's all the main important bits. I wont drone on with plans for accepting those in need into the compound and such. Cause while i'll definitely be using my voice to speak up for that, if it works out that a bunch of coworkers from my park are within the compound with me those decisions will probably run through the incident command protocols and hierarchies already set up within the national park structure. I'd just try to implement myself within those teams that are making decisions cause I feel I'd have thw most useful plans, obviously. 😌 lol

4:  3 topics you’d love to learn more about Cheese Making, strangely, really fascinates me but it’s one of those things you need a controlled environment for in practice. Coding, which is hard for me because of the dyslexia and dyspraxia unu. And thirdly I think music composition? It was kind of a hobby in high school that got tossed into the trunk after I graduated and had to be an ‘adult’.  28:  3 things you love cooking/baking   Lately I’ve really enjoyed using a modified version of Tasting History’s Sally Lun Bun, they’re easy and so soft and delicious that they are so worth the two hours and thirty minutes that go into them lmao. Honestly just a good piece of meat, doesn’t matter what kind. And hm.... Pasta dishes too, i just love good pasta. 37:  3 languages you would love to learn German, I know some words and phrases but not the full language, it’d be nice to get full sentences. Spanish, although I really got to know the language way better living out in Cali than I did in high school I found out that I really, really like the language (My HS teacher is 200% the reason I hated learning Spanish :( ) and Japanese.
