(sxf manga spoiler) nobody asked and im probably
stating the obvious here but since this current arc started ive had a lot of thoughts about the possibility of yuri figuring out that loid is twilight. and since today im blessed with the rare ability to form coherent thoughts, ill be dumping them here.
while i agree that yuri being the first to find out about loid's secret identity would lead to the juiciest plot development, i dont think yuri would be connecting the dots anytime soon, as evident in the latest chapter:
concussion or not, loid and twilight pose as opposite images in yuri's head. while yuri may hate twilight's guts (thanks to sss conditioning), he considers twilight as something "great". twilight is this very competent spy whos been operating right under their nose, stealing information and undermining ostania's security for (what i assume) quite some time now. and he keeps evading capture, even when he's right in front of them, like in the doggy crisis arc before. the entire sss seem to acknowledge how great of a spy twilight is and why capturing him is a matter of utmost importance.
on the other hand, yuri hates loid forger because he's conviced that loid is an incompetent, lying, and cheating man who is inferior and undeserving of his sister. and while yuri has made a comment about loid being a spy to his superior before, i believe this is some kind of an offhand comment in a desperate attempt to find a reason to get the man who "stole" his sister out of the picture.
i think these opposing impressions would simply hinder yuri from superimposing twilight's legendary reputation onto the "loser" loid forger (not soon anyway). even if he were to notice loid's wounds from their fight, it would go over his head as something like "stupid loi-loi. of course he's an incompetent doctor, he doesnt deserve my sister. i should have him arrested."
it will, however, be something in the back of his mind, something he's not conscious of. but later on in the story progression, yuri's memory of how twilight chose to mimic him, twilight not finishing him off, and loid's wounds might be somehing that will finally allow the pieces to click together, and the suspicion and investigation begins. (hopefully it'll also kickstart his character development and freedom from sss brainwashing because, turns out, his brother-in-law is not that bad!)
but in the near future after this arc (and it better ends with yor successfully giving loid that welcome home kiss), i think loid forger will be somewhere in the bottom of yuri's list of "suspicious people around me who might be twilight" (somehow anya would be higher on that list than loid).
anyways, thank you for attending my ramblings and it will sure be funny if my thoughts turn out completely wrong
heres a peanut for a treat 🥜

Inside Agentic Workflows: How AI Agents Can Drive Cross-System Decision-Making
85% of enterprise leaders say AI will revolutionize business processes—yet many struggle to integrate AI into cross-system decision-making. How can AI agents bridge this gap?
Artificial intelligence (AI) is redefining business operations, particularly in cross-system decision-making. AI-driven workflows, powered by intelligent agents, are transforming how organizations integrate and optimize processes across multiple platforms. This blog post explores agentic workflows, their key features, and how they enhance business outcomes.
Designed for enterprise architects, CTOs, AI solution leads, innovation officers, and data systems designers, this guide provides a comprehensive understanding of AI-driven workflows and their role in orchestrating cross-tool logic and actions.
Understanding Agents in This Context
An AI agent is an intelligent system that combines decision logic, action, and memory to autonomously execute tasks. These agents perceive information from multiple sources, analyze data, make decisions, and seamlessly execute actions across different systems.
Unlike traditional automation systems, which follow rigid, rule-based processes, AI agents adapt dynamically, optimizing processes in real time based on contextual reasoning and stored knowledge.
Automations vs. Workflows Powered by Agents
Understanding the distinction between traditional automations and agentic workflows is crucial:
Automations: These are pre-programmed processes designed to execute specific tasks following a set of predefined rules. They work well for repetitive, predictable tasks such as sending email notifications, updating records in a database, or executing scheduled jobs. However, they lack the flexibility to adjust to unforeseen changes or evolving conditions.
Agentic Workflows: Unlike traditional automation, agentic workflows integrate AI-driven decision-making into the process. AI agents can:
Assess real-time data instead of relying on static rules.
Adjust workflow paths dynamically based on contextual reasoning.
Handle unexpected conditions by modifying their actions or escalating issues.
Learn and improve over time, refining decision logic based on past outcomes.
For example, in a customer support workflow:
A traditional automation might route all refund requests over a certain amount to a human agent.
An AI agent-driven workflow could analyze historical refund data, customer sentiment, and fraud detection models to determine whether the refund can be automatically processed, needs additional verification, or should be escalated to a manager.
Key Features of Agentic Workflows
Agentic workflows stand out due to several key capabilities:
1. Memory
AI agents store and recall information from past interactions, enabling better decision-making based on historical patterns and learned behaviors.
2. Dynamic Input Handling
Unlike static workflows, AI-driven systems process and respond to real-time data, adjusting actions dynamically to reflect new conditions.
3. Contextual Reasoning
AI agents consider the broader context of data, making informed decisions that go beyond simple rule-based automation.
“Advances in AI are making it possible to do more with less, and that’s going to improve the quality of life for billions of people.” — Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta
Improving Outcomes vs. Chained Logic Rules
Traditional chained logic rules rely on predefined if-then sequences. While effective in structured scenarios, they lack adaptability when conditions change. These rules often struggle to handle complexity because they require explicit programming for every possible scenario and lack the ability to learn from previous outcomes.
AI-powered agentic workflows enhance business outcomes by:
Identifying patterns across systems and adjusting strategies accordingly.
Managing exceptions without human intervention.
Escalating decisions intelligently when necessary.
Optimizing processes dynamically based on real-time insights.
A Deeper Look: Why AI Agents Outperform Chained Logic Rules
Context Awareness: AI agents take into account the larger operational context rather than just following linear rule sets.
Adaptive Learning: Machine learning-powered agents can refine their decision-making over time, learning from new data and improving workflow efficiency.
Scalability: Unlike rigid rule-based workflows, AI-driven workflows can scale efficiently across systems, handling increasing complexity and larger datasets.
Reduced Maintenance Burden: Traditional rule-based systems require frequent updates to accommodate new conditions, whereas AI-driven systems self-adjust based on new insights.
Proactive Decision-Making: Instead of waiting for predefined triggers, AI agents can anticipate issues and take proactive actions before a problem arises.
Real-World Example: AI Agents in Supply Chain Management
In a supply chain scenario, a company may rely on multiple systems to manage inventory, demand forecasting, and order fulfillment. A chained logic rule-based system might dictate that:
If inventory drops below a set threshold, an order is automatically placed.
If demand is high, additional orders are scheduled.
However, this approach fails to account for real-world complexities such as:
Seasonal fluctuations.
Supplier delays.
Unexpected demand spikes.
An AI-driven agentic workflow would continuously assess:
Live inventory data.
Supplier availability.
Customer demand patterns.
Market trends.
The AI agent could then:
Adjust orders dynamically.
Predict and mitigate stock shortages.
Optimize supplier selection based on cost, reliability, and shipping times.
By shifting from a rigid, rules-based approach to an adaptive, AI-driven system, businesses can achieve greater accuracy, efficiency, and resilience in their operations.
Example of an Agentic Workflow
Scenario: AI-Driven Purchase Order Approval
Consider a procurement workflow where an AI agent automates purchase order (PO) approvals:
Receives a PO request from the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.
Analyzes inventory levels and demand forecasts.
Cross-checks budget constraints in the finance system.
Approves the order if forecasts are positive and inventory is low.
Escalates to a manager if conditions are unclear or financial risks exist.
This cross-system orchestration enhances efficiency and reduces human decision fatigue.
Key Takeaways
Agentic Workflows: AI agents perceive, reason, and act autonomously across multiple platforms.
Cross-System Decisions: AI agents can approve POs, assign leads, or optimize supply chains dynamically.
Exception Handling: AI agents adapt to new information, escalate issues, and manage deviations effectively.
AI Logic Chaining: AI-driven workflows integrate multiple tools for maximum efficiency and decision-making power.
As businesses navigate increasingly complex landscapes, AI-driven agentic workflows present a game-changing opportunity. In order to stay ahead, begin mapping out decision pathways that span multiple systems and explore how AI-driven workflows can revolutionize your operations. By leveraging AI, organizations have an opportunity to create more adaptive and resilient processes, aligning their capabilities with the dynamic demands of today's environment. The key lies in taking a proactive approach—integrating AI thoughtfully and strategically to drive meaningful, long-term impact.

Pushing Boundaries: AI as Your Personal Dev Team
I've been immersed in AI-assisted coding lately, and it's clear we're already in the midst of a revolution. We can describe app ideas to LLMs and get functional code in return - it's not science fiction, it's happening now. But as I dig deeper, I keep thinking: how can we make this process more robust, more accessible, and ultimately, more transformative for the way we work?
Current Landscape and Promising Developments
In my experiments with LLMs for coding, I've identified several key areas for improvement:
Context Understanding: AI models often make incorrect assumptions about development environments, leading to compatibility issues.
Iterative Problem-Solving: They can get stuck in loops, repeatedly trying failed solutions instead of innovating new approaches.
Cumulative Learning: Each interaction typically starts from scratch, missing out on the potential for accumulated knowledge.
However, recent developments in the field are addressing these challenges head-on. Two particularly exciting advancements have caught my attention:
RouteLLM: Optimizing Model Selection
The team at LM Systems has introduced RouteLLM, an open-source framework for cost-effective LLM routing. This addresses a crucial issue in AI-assisted development: how to balance performance and cost.
RouteLLM intelligently routes queries to the most appropriate model based on the task's complexity. This means simpler coding tasks can be handled by smaller, faster models, while more complex problems are routed to more capable (but costlier) models. The result? Significant cost savings without compromising on quality. We're talking about cost reductions of over 85% on some benchmarks while still achieving 95% of GPT-4's performance.
This development is a game-changer for making AI-assisted coding more accessible and economically viable for a broader range of developers and projects.
Anthropic's Prompt Caching: Enhancing Context and Efficiency
Anthropic has introduced prompt caching for their Claude model, which directly addresses our challenge of maintaining context across interactions. With prompt caching, we can now provide Claude with extensive background knowledge and example outputs without incurring the full cost and latency for each interaction.
This feature opens up exciting possibilities:
We can include more comprehensive code examples and project-specific context.
Long-form documentation or codebase summaries can be incorporated into the prompt.
We can fine-tune Claude's responses with dozens of diverse, high-quality output examples.
The result? Cost reductions of up to 90% and latency improvements of up to 85% for long prompts. This makes it feasible to maintain complex context over extended coding sessions, bringing us closer to the seamless AI coding assistant we've been envisioning.
Envisioning the Next Steps
With these advancements in mind, here's how I see us taking AI-assisted coding to the next level:
Intelligent Meta-agents: Leveraging RouteLLM's approach, we could create oversight systems that not only choose the right model for each task but also manage the overall development process.
Dynamic Knowledge Integration: Prompt caching allows us to build and maintain a cumulative knowledge base throughout a project, informing future interactions with rich, project-specific context.
Adaptive Hybrid Workflows: By combining efficient routing and context preservation, we can create workflows that seamlessly blend AI capabilities with human insight, optimizing for both performance and cost.
Implications for the Future of Work
As these technologies mature, the impact on how we work with technology will be profound:
Development becomes more accessible, with AI handling routine coding tasks while humans focus on high-level design and problem-solving.
Rapid prototyping accelerates, powered by cost-effective, context-aware AI assistants.
The role of developers evolves, emphasizing skills in AI collaboration, system architecture, and translating complex human needs into clear AI instructions.
Moving Forward
The future of AI-assisted development isn't just a possibility - it's unfolding now, and these recent advancements are accelerating its progress. My focus is on integrating these new capabilities into practical workflows, exploring how we can create more intuitive interfaces that leverage the strengths of both RouteLLM and prompt caching.
I'm particularly excited about the potential for creating AI-enhanced IDEs that can maintain project context over time, intelligently route coding tasks to appropriate models, and provide real-time, cost-effective assistance throughout the development process.
As we continue to push the boundaries of what's possible, I'm eager to hear from others in this space. How are you integrating these new AI capabilities into your development workflow? What challenges remain, and what solutions show promise?
The code for the future is being written now - and with these new tools, we're better equipped than ever to optimize for true human-AI collaboration.

So Much For The 5th Of November...
I was really going for Nick Hobbes's birthday to be on Bonfire Night of 1986. Specifically at the Flamel House in Paris, France due to Constance and Severus's marriage needing to be kept secret for various reasons (albeit with a few friends knowing). HOWEVER, when seeing a posts from @marmotish, I had realized something; the wizards of both "Harry Potter" and "Worst Witch" would probably not celebrate the 5th Of November due to King James taking part in the witch hunts along with writing "The Deamonologie".
And now I'm in a tiff...The reason why I wanted Hobbes's birthday to be Bonfire Night was (1.) It fitted with his rebellious personality.
And (2.) The Rowling Wizards/Imperiums and Murphy Wizards/Ex-Codices are seperate "breeds" of wizards who have a rivalry that, at the time of around 1985-1987, communated in a matter similar to The Troubles in Ireland. Specifically, rival terrorists groups had emerged to battle each other out much to the despair of the Impepriums and the Ex-Codices. With the Imperium Severus Snape being secretly married to the Ex-Codice, Constance Hardbroom, it'd brings them into more irony with their son being born on Bonfire Night (a holiday that celebrated the failure/death of the Catholic, Guy Fawkes).
The sad part is I should've known better than to pick Bonfire Night; I had watched a documentary on the Pendle Witches long before working on this fic, and should've remembered that King James segment...
Now I got to reconsider Christmas Day. On the one hand, it's fitting on a meta-level as Alan Rickman was in the (technically) Holiday film, "Die Hard". Kate Duchene (Constance Hardbroom's actress) was in "A Sense Of Guilt" where she had played a woman (with a lousy husband, Marsha deserved better! Yes, I'm still mad!) who had her fourth child (a girl) on Boxing Day. And then there's Monster Bobby Barry (Nick Hobbes's actor) who had starred in "New Year's Day" which involved the Christmas holiday. Not to mention, becoming parents would've been the best gift Snape and Constance would ever get. Especially as, in "The Gift Of Gratitude" (in "Hogwarts Mystery"), Snape hadn't gotten any presents (not even from the Malfoys?).
However, there's a problem. With Nick being born on Christmas of 1986, it would be difficult. In "Hogwarts Mystery", Severus would have to be in charge of the school during the holiday of that very year (which leads to the blancmange storyline). Yes, Dumbledore is a busy man and probably had to leave for important stuff. But I don't think even he would want to keep Severus away from the most important event of his life. Dumbledore, McGonagall and Pomfrey were well aware of Snape's situation and surely would've planned something else that allowed him to be with his wife and their child.
Then again, Constance, already knowing of Snape's job as Dumbledore's agent, was well aware what she was marrying into. And if we know Constance, she'd think Snape looking after Hogwarts was a good thing as (in her words) only he can keep the students from dismantling the school. Not to mention, Severus would've gotten portkeys that's get him to the Flamel's and back in a heartbeat. Yet, if Snape had to leave, who would take his place? Minerva resided at Hogwarts after her husband died in '85, that's true. But, wouldn't she be away to visit her brothers and their families? How in the world would poor Severus work around this and NOT chase Dumbledore down? I haven't played that far into the game so my knowledge is very limited.
Another canidate would be the holiday, Lughnsadh, which is on August 1st. But, according to Wikipedia, one of the holiday practices involve Handfasting which is getting hitched without an officiator. That date wouldn't be bad for Severus and Constance's elopement (even though they did have an officiator).
Still, with Hobbes's birthday...I'm pretty stumped at the moment...

Okay, you guys.
When SHIELD fell, Fury sent Bobbi and Hartley to the Iliad with a mission to save Gonzalez and as many SHIELD agents as they could.
But Bobbi was also given a second mission, to sink the Iliad and make sure its cargo didn't fall into enemy hands. Bobbi knew when she accepted the mission that she would probably go down with the ship.
When Mack found out about this secret mission, he objected and said they should find another way. He argued that Fury couldn't see what they saw, and it was possible they could reclaim the ship and protect the cargo. Hartley agreed, saying that Victoria Hand was taking over the Hub, and it was possible they could also prevail. Reluctantly, Bobbi agreed, and together they were able to convince Gonzalez. They retook the ship, gathered resources, and founded a new SHIELD based on transparency and democracy.
The thing here is that from their perspective, their decisions make sense. They may even seem right. But they made the mistake of thinking they knew better than Fury without taking into consideration the fact that Fury kept secrets, and those secrets might change everything. Their downfall, in the end, was the two big things they didn't know:
1. In a spy/pseudo-military organization, democracy leads to chaos. Decisions often need to be made and orders followed when there is no time for debate. SHIELD could and should exist within a democracy, held accountable to that democracy, but it would fall into anarchy without strong leadership and agents committed to following orders.
2. The cargo contained in the Iliad was a Kree monolith that acted as a portal to a distant, desolate planet that acted as a prison for Hive, a nearly unstoppable Inhuman powerful enough to enslave the world. Hydra had possession of the monolith for centuries, seeing Hive as their ultimate leader and planning for his return. While many had entered the portal, none had ever come back. The cargo, in many ways, was a doorway to death.
In hindsight, we can see how their well-meant decisions lead to disaster. If they had followed Fury's orders, perhaps they could have found a way to save all the crew and Bobbi while taking the monolith out of play for good. Coulson was looking for them and would have found them, combining their resources as SHIELD rose from the ashes. Bobbi, Mack, and Gonzalez might have been impressed to learn that Coulson shared many of their concerns and was intent with correcting a lot of the problems with SHIELD.
But ironically, the reason they ended up on their path is a direct result of SHIELD's biggest problem: no one trusted Fury. Fury was too distant and too secretive, and when it came to the point where they had to trust their friends to survive, they found that he was not a friend, they didn't understand his vision, and in the end, they didn't know if he had their best interests at heart.
Turns out, Fury had the world's best interests at heart.
Because they disobeyed Fury's orders, the monolith was preserved, Jemma became a castaway on Maveth, Fitz figured out how to bring Jemma back, and Hydra was able to use the monolith and FitzSimmons' knowledge to emacipate Hive. Hive brought death and destruction to Earth as he attempted to enslave the world, only to be stopped by the SHIELD Coulson created at great personal cost.
In the end, Gonzalez's SHIELD caused the destruction of Hive, and were destroyed themselves before they were able to stop it.
In the end, Coulson proved that he could rebuild SHIELD on its founding principles while still finding ways to make it better, learning from the mistakes Fury made.
TL;DR Fury failed because his vision was too broad, focusing on the whole world while forgetting that his people needed a leader they knew and could trust.
Gonzalez failed because his vision was too narrow, focusing on the needs of his agents while remaining ignorant of the larger threats and the people that SHIELD was designed to protect.
Coulson succeeded because of his balanced view, caring about his agents while remembering that their first priority is protecting the world. While he keeps secrets, his team knows that he does it for a purpose and that he will listen to their concerns. This creates trust, trust creates a healthy team, and a healthy team is effective enough to rise up and save the world.

@agl03 Amen.
I think I might be the most staunchly anti-Will person in the fandom. I don't regret anything I said about it; I just wish at least one of my theories had been right! ;)
I do think, though, that I learned a lot from the experience, mostly about storytelling and modern media and what people need to do to get eyeballs. I think AoS' biggest flaw was that they prioritized shock and ~drama~ above everything else. I don't know that I have ever come across a show with such great characters that all had amazing chemistry with each other, and a lot of that was wasted. Part of that is the show runners and how they operated when they had to fight for ratings. They were the red-headed stepchild of Marvel for really no good reason, and that added a lot of unnecessary pressure. I wonder what the early show would have been like if they were treated like Daredevil and the Netflix shows. At the same time, they outlasted all those shows and I wonder if we would have HAD seasons six and seven if they hadn't fought for ratings the way they did. Who knows, really.
Will was still awful and stupid and hurt Jemma's character so badly that she didn't really get redemption until the Framework, and that's a whole other bag of worms I don't want to get into. In my opinion, it really damaged the story. I personally just like to think of Will as a Hydra agent who was manipulating Jemma into relying solely on him, because the story honestly makes more sense that way.
In the end, though, Chelsey is right when she says this is a blip in the story. It shouldn't have happened, but it doesn't matter in the end, and the end was fantastic. We got seven seasons, we had a "wedding" that was actually lit well and on screen (so close enough), and we got to see a baby that didn't have a cheesy name. Let's just take the win!
(Also, Chelsey is a lot better at predictions than I am, and that was a good lesson to learn.)
Hi,
I know 4,722 hours is a difficult topic so I hope you don't mind my rant but I've been rewatching season 3 and I just am so sad about it. I've been reading all the old theories that everyone was coming up with after the episode and it was all for nothing. So many inconsistencies and it wasn't a clever story it was just issues with the edit or poor continuity or seemingly a lack of communication between whoever wrote the articles etc about Will and the writers. I know they had to change the story because of issues with the actor who played Will so who knows what they're original intent was but I just get so upset because this should have been amazing, it should have been an episode beloved by the fandom as it was Elizabeth's hour to shine but the episode and the ones following it are filled with inconsistencies with Will and other bits of information we get about the planet and It and I feel that it overshadows Elizabeth's performance. The writers seemed to disregard having a cohesive story in order to surprise us with the Will revelation. The Jemma that returns doesn't seem like a woman who has just been having a picnic with her boyfriend, she seems like a woman who has barely survived on a planet by herself. It's like they got to 4722 hours and realised they could throw another roadblock that was completely unnecessary and changed the plot last minute. It's so frustrating it really is, especially when fandom theories were so much more interesting than what we got.
Sorry for the rant, feel free to ignore this, I just needed to get it off my chest.
Ps. Your blog is the best!
Hi Anon,
There is nothing we can do about Season 3 and the whole Space Rando thing now. I read the declassified for the Season and that helped explain what the writers were going for and even more that he was nothing more than a contrived roadblock to delay getting Fitzsimmons together. And even with needing to let the actor go I think everything played out pretty much originally as intended. Except it was Ward who was Hive and not Space Rando, so we dodged a bullet there if you ask me.
That is one of the eps, to this day, I have never watched in full again. Which I hate because yes, Elizabeth was amazing. I like to think I made up for it with watching Inescapable a bazillion times.
However, I am actually really grateful to the whole Space Rando mess. Because without it I wouldn’t have become who I was in the fandom.
It was Space Rando that got me going on theories
It was Space Rando that got me writing it’ll be okay and calm down metas.
It was those theories that led to me starting to get asks eventually leading to hundreds a week
It was trying to (and wound up hitting) when Fitzsimmons would get together that started the Wise and Powerful Timeline that was with me until the very end.
It was in doing the theories and metas I made some of my most dear friends who have been with me through thick and thin in the show and IRL. I don’t know how I would have literally survived without wonderful friends like @eclecticmuses @queerscifinerd @bunnykaye @agent-85 and so many more.
It was my evolution in the fandom that led me to going to cons where I made irreplaceable memories with my family and really got into Cosplaying and Disney Bounding.
So I’ll take a Space Rando who was now merely a blip in an amazing story because it led to a wonderful fandom experience and our Happily Ever After!

heyyy can you talk about kons dating history or atleast with older women? ive seen a few posts but im not sure but thats so ://///
Ahhh yes. Kon’s dating history, I've finally now finished reading all his solo comics (and had already gone through his team books a while back) so it’s a perfect time to delve into this. I’m kinda broadening it to his love interests in general, as not all of them put an official ‘dating’ label on things, but are still worth bringing up. This is kinda long so sorry in advance about that, but I tried to be as brief as possible.
TW for pedophilia (in these specific cases discussing a 23 year old dating a 16 year old, and another woman without a specifically given age [but clearly an adult] with the same 16 year old) obviously i’m not talking about it positively here but it’s unfortunately necessary to discuss with this topic.
I consider Kon as having five primary love interests in the pre-reboot comics world, which is where most of his dating happened. The ‘criteria’ I guess i’m using to separate them from the others i’ll talk about after is a combination of ‘they interacted for a long time’ and/or ‘the relationship had a big impact on his story/him as a person’.
I’m also mainly sticking in pre-New 52 world for this because aside from the 'fake married to Lophi to protect her and her kid on Gemworld' thing in Young Justice 2019, he hasn't done much with relationships since getting officially reintroduced. Then the New 52 version of Kon was a very separate person and even so he was mainly just (sorta) involved with Cassie.
ANYWAYS the main five are:
Tana Moon - Tana was a 23 year old (as stated in Superboy #32) reporter Kon initially met during Reign of the Supermen, the story he debuted in (meaning she was one of the first people he met), who also happened to move back to Hawaii around the time he ended up there on his press tour. The two of them had an on and off relationship from basically the start of the comic until she broke up with him in Superboy #46. She briefly came back into his life in Superboy #72 after having been kidnapped by The Agenda, before being killed by Amanda Spence in Superboy #74. Kon and several others refer to her as his ‘first love’ especially after her death, which weighed very heavily on him.
Knockout/Kay - A woman we find out was originally one of the Female Furies, who works as a stripper at the 'Boom Boom Room’ in Hawaii while trying to keep a low-profile after leaving Apokolips. We don't get an exact age for her but she's very much so implied to be an adult. She hits on Kon from the moment she meets him (she also quite literally uses the term ‘jailbait’ to describe him in her first appearance in Superboy #1) and kisses him several times, insisting on working with him and training him and eventually beginning a more formal relationship with him. She kills someone and he blindly defends her thinking she couldn’t have done it, and she tries to coerce him into killing someone by promising herself to him (before killing the guy herself when Kon wouldn’t do it). The arc mainly focused on their relationship is from Superboy #22-30, but she is a presence in the comic from the start. She is arrested for the murders she committed at the end of the arc, and doesn't interact with Kon much again after as she is in a high security prison, but she is referenced multiple times.
Roxy Leech - Roxy is the daughter of Rex Leech, Kon's agent. From the moment she meets Kon, also during Reign of the Supermen like Tana, she's got a thing for him. Her age is left a bit more unclear, as some bits of dialogue indicate she is actually close to Kon's age but other things like how she applies to the police academy, something you need to be like 20 to do, indicate she's a bit older. Regardless, she’s definitely younger than Tana as she comments on her age at least once. She actively dislikes both Tana and Knockout for being interested in Kon, and confesses her feelings to him during a 'the whole world might end tonight' situation (in Superboy #33). The two of them didn't really date, but there is a period of time where Kon feels torn between Tana and Roxy. Not too long after that she ends up volunteering herself to be used in a procedure to stabilize Kon's dna after it had been torn apart by The Agenda when they cloned him, as the method to save him required someone close in age to him be used as a genetic template. From that point on they considered each other more like siblings, ending the romantic aspect of their relationship (in Superboy #41)
Serling Roquette - Serling is a 16 year old (as first stated in Superboy #57) science prodigy who works in the genetics department of Cadmus, and is the person who manages to cure Kon's condition where he'd been stuck at age 16 (a side effect from the procedure with Roxy). Initially she had a crush on Guardian, but over time grew to like Kon, she was one of the first people at Cadmus he personally tells his name ‘Kon-El’ to. They only kinda start to get together before Tana comes back and then is killed. After a situation where Roxy came back and needed help, when he and Serling try to maybe pick things up again, Kon realizes Tana’s death is still too fresh for him to get involved in anything too serious with her and he breaks it off, leaving them very tense with one another. (Superboy #82)
Wonder Girl/Cassie Sandsmark - Cassie had an interest in Kon before she even met him, more of a celebrity crush at first than anything else. They share their first kiss in Wonder Woman #153 after she had tried to change her look to impress him and he reassured her that she was already beautiful the way she is. Cassie was present for Tana's death in Superboy #74, and after that Kon is overly protective of her in a noticeable way that actively annoyed her (She points out to him that she can take care of herself a few times, like in Young Justice #29) but eventually at the end of Young Justice (in #55) he confesses feelings for her, and they share another kiss. Graduation Day bringing about the end of Young Justice as a team kinda throws a wrench in things, but early in Teen Titans Vol. 3 they begin to date more formally, and are getting pretty serious together (cough cough they uhh consummate their relationship in the Kent farm's barn in TT Annual #1) right before Kon is killed during Infinite Crisis. She takes his death very badly and joins a cult to try to bring him back, has her whole thing with Tim (who is coping equally poorly with the death... almost 100 cloning attempts babey), and befriends Kara as a surrogate Teen Kryptonian™, but eventually learns to accept what happened and move on. Then he comes back, and everything's a lot to process all over again. She had become the team leader and things were just different than they used to be. They tried to resume their relationship but eventually Kon decided to end it (Teen Titans Vol. 3 #91), because they both wanted different things at that point in their lives, but they remained friends and teammates.
So when people are talking about the ‘older women’ thing, it should be pretty clear from that list they’re talking about Tana and Knockout. Both were adult women dating a 16 year old boy, and neither situation did enough to handle it in a way that addressed it as the problem it was. Knockout’s situation did end up being seen as a bad thing by the end because of the murder parts at the very least, but the age difference didn’t come up nearly as much. With Tana a few people (Roxy, some of Tana’s coworkers, even Tana herself) did bring up the age difference as a potential problem, but they continued to stay together for a pretty long time regardless. The kicker is that she ultimately breaks up with him for being ‘immature’ after he gets stuck at age 16, when it’s like... he’s 16. You’re 23. No kidding you think he’s immature? It was just a whole mess and makes reading a lot of his solo incredibly uncomfortable.
Additionally he has a few other shorter-lived relationships/potential love interests. I’m categorizing them separately because they weren’t focused on in the same ways/for as much time as the girls I listed above:
Trixie (Superboy #94-100) - When Kon gets his own apartment in Suicide Slum, he repeatedly runs into Trixie and the rest of the Slaughterhouse Six, but Superboy inspires her to try to turn her life around. They didn’t formally date but that was definitely the direction things were starting to head towards before his apartment building blew up and he realized he needed to get away from the city where his presence was painting a target on innocent people, and so they decided to just be friends. (This was also when his solo ended, so possibly if the book hadn’t been ending they may have continued longer)
Batgirl/Cassandra Cain (Superboy #85, Batgirl #39-41) - They first met when Kon had been bugging Tim in Gotham, and had a little adventure together that resulted in Batman being PISSED because he didn’t want Cass interacting with Metas (especially not teenage boy ones that’ll flirt with her) and Kon volunteered to share her punishment so she didn’t have to do it alone. They later meet again shortly after Kon moved in with the Kents while on a cruise (and he’s her first kiss!) and afterwards she goes to Smallville to meet him. She’s actually like the first person outside the Kents we’re shown to know his new civilian name is ‘Conner Kent’. After their little attempt at a date they decide to just stay friends.
Lori Luthor (Various appearances with Kon in Adventure Comics (2009) & Superboy Vol. 5) - When Kon and Lori initially meet there’s definitely some interest and she kisses him, but it happens while he’s still dating Cassie so he makes it clear he’s unavailable. Afterwards he learns who she actually is and realizes ‘oh she’s sorta kinda my cousin on the Luthor side’ so he stops really being interested. She’s still interested because she feels like the cloning doesn’t make them really related, and they talk about it in Superboy Vol. 5 #4 after he and Cassie had broken up, but he still feels too raw from Cassie and too weirded out by the situation to have it go anywhere. Kon helps try to get Lex to cure Lori’s mom (Lex’s sister Lena), and eventually when Lex is an ass in the end he finds another way (Some Wayne money through Tim) to try to help her. Lori figures out Conner is Superboy and along with Simon and Sujan helps him to save Smallville from the Hollow Men.
Ravager/Rose Wilson (Teen Titans Vol. 3 #95-100, kinda some parts of Superboy Vol. 6 if ya squint) - This is another of those ‘they didn’t actually date but there was interest’ situations, in the very end of Teen Titans Vol. 3. A fake version of Rose had kissed Kon which was kinda the catalyst for it, where after that moment he became a bit more protective of her once the real her returned. They had a moment where Kon tried to trust her with something (Kryptonite to take him down if the situation arose) but she saw it more as him thinking she was the one ruthless enough to do it, rather than as a token of trust, and left upset. The reboot happened before this really went anywhere/got resolved though, but interestingly enough she became a bit of a support character in the New 52 version of Kon’s life, likely because of this connection they tried to do before the reboot. They never really dated there either, he just referred to her as cute a few times. New 52 Kon is a very separate person anyways, but it’s worth mentioning.
I might be forgetting a few other minor ones along the way (especially if there’s things that weren’t in his main books), and Kon (especially in the 90′s) was the kind of guy to flirt with pretty much every girl he saw, so bear that in mind. But yeah, I hope this helps!
#sam writes#this ended up like 2k words dear lord i have written So Much abt superboy in this year of 2021

lol okay so I dashed off most of this the day of and then kept not posting it because I kept thinking I needed to add stuff, but then I ended up adding more stuff mostly in reblogs instead (should all be under the “my meta” tag if anyone’s curious) and now episode 2 is technically coming out tomorrow night in my time zone so obviously I need to just post this. bullet points of disconnected thoughts, some of which are probably at least slightly outdated by now but whatever, here you go
seems very possible Mobius left the tape with him on purpose because he figured Loki wouldn’t be able to resist looking at it
would have to check the timing but I’m pretty sure he started looking terrified as soon as Thanos came onscreen without really knowing the context (aside from the very basic outline of “it’s been several years and he reconciled with Thor”), which at least underscores that they weren’t buddies--Loki knew something awful was about to happen the second Thanos showed up sadly this is not true, the clip he sees first is him trying to stab Thanos, so...yeah it stands to reason that he’d know it was about to end badly no matter what
other people have mentioned this but I love that we got to see Loki just like...existing?? like I know he’s never been the protagonist before and seeing him as the protagonist has always been one of the things that’s excited me most about the show, but now that it’s here I’m just kind of struck by how HE’S THE PROTAGONIST so we’re getting all these emotions and little gestures and moments when he’s alone that we only got in tiny, sadly easy-to-overlook snatches before (and it also occurred to me that I don’t think we’ve ever seen Loki eat anything, which is something else that might change)
also his projection is fascinating, and so is the fact that he explicitly turned it around on himself, which seems relevant to all the theories about a lot of his other statements (”freedom is life’s great lie,” most of what he said to Natasha, etc.) being things that were drummed into him on Sanctuary rather than stuff he just came up with on his own, so that seems to cover a lot of the stuff he says in Avengers and here
on the other hand it seems unlikely we’re ever going to get confirmation that Bad Stuff happened to him on Sanctuary aside from what we already saw in Avengers, which is frustrating, although to be fair I also wasn’t expecting to see Loki crying about his family in the first episode (and the most I’m really hoping for, still, is that nothing will explicitly contradict the idea, so...we’re good on that thus far, I guess)
so the first half of the episode was...ehhh, I don’t know, but the second half was amazing. I know some people didn’t like that part either, but I felt like...okay, I don’t love him being humiliated so I would’ve preferred different framing for some of this BUT a lot of casual viewers still see Loki as a cackling caricature without having picked up on any of the stuff that very clearly showed otherwise, and this show wants to treat Loki as a person, someone worthy of audience sympathy, so they kind of had to go in hard and fast on that aspect to get everyone up to speed. like, yes, fans who’ve been paying attention know that Loki’s a person, that he’s wounded, that he doesn’t hurt people just because it’s fun for him, that he feels things very deeply, that he loves his family, but somehow the mainstream perception of him has missed like 85% of that, and the show’s just not going to have much impact unless it gets everybody on board with those very basic ideas. in terms of story structure it probably doesn’t make sense for this to be his lowest point, but starting from the bottom and eventually getting somewhere better is fairly standard, so at this point I can imagine tons of ways things could improve for him
yeah I do hate the whole Sacred Timeline thing, see also my posts about how much I loved that Endgame canonically (I thought) established multiple timelines where everything was fine, so yeah I’m pissed about that because it means those timelines were canonically pruned
like I don’t...hate it as a storytelling device? I just hate it for fandom reasons, and I’ve hated it in other fandoms when canon did something that seemed to open things up to all this incredible possibility and then went “actually no, we’re boxing it up again into this one specific Way That Things Happened” and for fanwork purposes it doesn’t matter all that much, I don’t think it’s actually that much harder to do AUs or go “okay well in this universe the TVA doesn’t exist, whatever” (in fact I wouldn’t be surprised if AO3 quickly develops a new canonical “not TVA compliant” tag for basically all Loki fic), but it is annoying that it’s now like “canonically, every AU is Not Allowed”, and if that ends up sticking as the status quo with the TVA considered good guys or at least a necessary evil then yeah, I’m going to be annoyed
HOWEVER
I don’t think that’s inevitable for a variety of reasons
this whole show is going to deal with multiverse shenanigans and so will Dr. Strange 2, so it seems completely possible that the end result could be a status quo of “there’s a multiverse actually and that’s fine” (...although yes, I’ll be doubly annoyed if the end result of this show is a restored multiverse of some kind and the end result of Dr. Strange 2 is condensing it back down to a single timeline)
the multiverse is a long-running comics tradition, which still seems to be the case even after...whatever event it was that collided a bunch of them and tried for a Highlander thing, look I wasn’t really following it and I know some characters ended up in other universes from where they started but I’m pretty sure we still have a multiverse of some kind
almost all the recent Loki-centric comics have focused on questions of fate and agency
Agent of Asgard in particular was about Loki eventually going “fuck you I won’t do what you tell me” and forging a new path (and, okay, it does seem like runs other than AoA have been the most influential here but again we’ve only seen one episode)
Loki, specifically, is an agent of chaos and change, like that’s his whole thing going way back to mythology, because sometimes stagnancy is death and chaos is healthy, and of course myth!Loki (and earlier versions of comics!Loki) is always responsible for triggering Ragnarok, which isn’t just the end of the world but is also a natural, crucial part of a cycle of renewal, and yes the MCU already did Ragnarok but that doesn’t at all mean they can’t play more with those ideas
Tom Hiddleston has brought up this specific point several times in recent interviews, that sometimes chaos is the one thing that's really needed
also, on Jimmy Kimmel the day of the episode, he kind of...planted a seed about the TVA maybe not being uncomplicated good guys because seriously what gives them the right to make these decisions for literally everyone
so at the very least I think it’s completely possible that things aren’t quite what they seem, and that for instance we’re supposed to discover that Mobius is consciously manipulating him to turn him into the type of tool the TVA wants him to be
also “the timeline wants to break free” shows up on a lot of merch, which does seem to indicate a free will vs. predestination theme
I’m not at all familiar with comics!TVA, although I understand they’re considered villains (although to be fair, so were the Skrulls, and at least thus far that’s been inverted for the MCU), but their whole thing reminded me of a few other entities in a way that could be relevant:
the tape running out was like the Norns cutting the thread of somebody’s life
Those Who Sit Above In Shadow in AoA (and also maybe whatever was below the God Quarry in Infinity Wars although I’m less familiar with that)
the gods in Cabin In The Woods, who were also kind of audience proxies in that they really just cared about the sacrifice being entertaining, which kinda seems like the only logical reason for the Timekeepers to prefer any given series of events over another
my personal hope for the series: the Timekeepers are ultimately the Big Bad and the rogue Loki variant is ultimately right in trying to wipe out the TVA (because sure I realize it’s maybe dumb of me but I still don’t want any Loki to be completely a bad guy!!); the major named TVA characters realize they’re the baddies actually and team up with a whole army of Lokis to take them down and GIVE US BACK OUR MULTIVERSE

I'm going to disagree about it being understandable that Jemma fell for Will and that you can be in love with two people at once. Both of those things are absolutely true, in general, but it doesn't work for FitzSimmons. The thing that makes FitzSimmons unique and special is the fact that they have this unique and special bond. They are two geniuses who have been best friends for over a decade, and in a lot of ways, they're the only ones who can understand each other.
I have a hard time buying Jemma's love for Will because he didn't understand or appreciate the things that were most important to her: science, and the people she loves. He had no science background (or lied about it, since he SHOULD have learned something as an astronaut), and he didn't have the kind of relationships in life that Jemma had. He didn't believe Fitz would come for Jemma because he never had a friend that loved him the way Fitz loves Jemma. Before Maveth, he assumed there would always be time for that later. On Maveth, he assumed it would never happen. He lost hope, and he didn't understand Jemma's hope. He fought against it. He mocked it. He went along with it for a little while when he thought she had a way out, but when that failed, he was resigned to the belief that they were trapped there forever.
And when Jemma lost it, when she broke down and expressed her fear that she would never find a way back home and to Fitz, he took her in his arms and told her, "Maybe this is our home."
As a reminder, when Jemma was afraid that she would never find her way back to Will, Fitz loked at her and said, "We're gonna get him back."
I know that a lot of people feel sorry for Will because of the circumstances he was in, and it does make sense to me that he lost hope. It makes sense that me that he fell for Jemma, who gave him hope. But it doesn't make sense to me that Jemma fell in love with Will, since he was a big factor in how she lost her hope. And taking Jemma's hope away is something I will never, ever forgive him for. It was incredibly selfish of him to bring her down to his level instead of lift her back up the way Fitz did. Jemma had to lose herself in order to love Will. She had turn her back on both science and Fitz and believe there was no way out. She had to become less than she was. And I'll never forgive Will for that, either.
So, I mean, I really don't like the word "love" to be applied to this relationship.
Elizabeth did say that Jemma loved Fitz and Will differently, but she was careful to use words like "visceral" and "primal" to describe Jemma's relationship with Will. It was a relationship of survival after all hope was lost. It was sad and unhealthy and very confusing for her when she got back. Are we really going to call that love? Are we going to pretend that it would have had a chance at surviving, even in Maveth?
The writers tried to play this game of "you can love two people at once" with Fitz, Will, and Jemma, but it didn't work and was very damaging to the story and the characters. Jemma was written very inconsistently from scene to scene as they tried to portray her vascilating between her "love" for Will and her love for Fitz. It made her seem fickle and weak, and Jemma is niether of those things. Meanwhile, Fitz got to be this white knight who did everything right while Jemma could do nothing right. It was a great disservice to Jemma as a character, to FitzSimmons as a relationship, and to us as fans. The current FitzSimmons fandom is a fraction of the size it was before the Willpocalypse happened, because it made a lot of people lose their faith and respect for FitzSimmons. It's a pretty egregious case of character malpractice that we still have not fully recovered from.
So, while love triangles are a thing that happen reality and in general, THIS love triangle was a huge, destructive mistake. We can't let the writers off the hook by explaining or justifying it. They did it, they meant to do it, they did a terrible job of doing it, and they should bear all responsibility for it.
watching all the fitzsimmons season 2 angst is still tough but it’s a lot more enjoyable knowing what i know now
and even though they still dragged it out a little, it’s still a lot more believable than the season 3 angst which was stupid af in my opinion. in season 2 i bought it b/c up until that point fs had always been bad at communicating their feelings. so that they would be bad at talking to each other about their feelings after both suffering major trauma on top of fitz confessing his feelings AND Jemma going undercover was believable
in season 3 it’s just stupid. b/c yeah Jemma had feelings for Will but we always knew she would pick Fitz so having her be like “aaaa idk who to pick,,, so confusing” was dumb and all it did was piss everyone off
it’s like… season 2 was believable angst but season 3 was so obviously the writers being like “we feel like dragging this out longer so here’s som the unnecessary angst that makes zero sense”
#And yes#I am still upset about this#Ugh why writers WHY#Meta of Agent 85#Jemma deserves better#AoS meta

1, 3, 11, 17, 20, 21 and 22? :o)
1. Tell us about your current project(s) – what’s it about, how’s progress, what do you love most about it? My current project is my in-progress BTTF fic "'Cause I Might Not Make it Back" (which I just posted the next chapter of!). Basically, in the summer of 1986, Marty gets caught up in a case of time-traveling spy intrigue and ends up in 1932 with amnesia and a Bon Jovi tape--and young!Doc finds him. Fun fact: before I went with Bon Jovi, the original outline had him go back to 1932 with a tape that Marty had made to record Queen's Live Aid performance; the chapters were all originally Queen-themed (and it was originally titled "Though You're Many Years Away"). I switched to Bon Jovi after I remembered that Live Aid was summer of '85, not '86, which was when Bon Jovi's Slippery When Wet album was released.
The other project I'm planning is a 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo fic called "Sands of Time and Space" (so yeah, bit of BTTF influence in this one); since I don't count the Curse movie as canon to the series timeline (they retconned waaaaaay too many things for it to make any coherent sense), this will be my way of showing how Fred and Velma found out about the shenanigans they missed out on after the rest of the gang visits Velma in Florida to watch the launch of a new Mars probe developed by her supervisor at NASA.
3. What is that one scene that you’ve always wanted to write but can’t be bothered to write all of the set-up and context it would need? (consider this permission to write it and/or share it anyway) A. MYSTERY. SCENE. ON. A. TRAIN. Like something intriguing a la Orient Express, but I am thwarted either by either by there already being such a scene in canon (MFU, Scooby-Doo), or there isn't enough of a premise for it (Hogan's Heroes, Pokémon). ...At this point, BTTF might be my only chance to pull this off; maybe Doc and Marty end up on the actual Orient Express via time-travel... (and Marty breaks out his "inconspicuous" Secret Agent Man disguise from Part II again while Doc just facepalms in the background).
11. What do you envy in other writers? HOW DO YOU ALL UPDATE YOUR FICS SO QUICKLY???
17. Do you think readers perceive your work - or you - differently to you? What do you think would surprise your readers about your writing or your motivations? I honestly don't know if they perceive my work differently than I do--they'd have to tell me themselves. At this point, I don't think I have any surprises--most people know I write about character relationships, with some drama and angst, but always with a happy ending.
20. Tell us the meta about your writing that you really want to ramble to people about (symbolism you’ve included, character or relationship development that you love, hidden references, callbacks or clues for future scenes?) Most of the fics I write are all meant to be in the same timeline. And I have a lot of references that tie events from other fandoms together; if I listed them all, we'd be here all day, but here's one example-- In my MFU Halloween fic, "The Jack o' the Lantern Affair," I had Victor Marton mention to Napoleon and Illya that he had a "very distant cousin in Tibet" to whom he bore some amount of resemblance to. This was meant to be a throwaway reference to Vincent Van Ghoul, an in-joke since Vincent Price played both roles--at the time, I never imagined I'd be writing 13 Ghosts fic. Now that I am writing 13 Ghosts fic, I have to make it come full circle--Napoleon and Illya will have a cameo in the party scene in "Sands of Time and Space," as Velma's supervisor is also Napoleon's childhood friend, Takeshi (who, in one of my many MFU short affair pieces, I revealed as working for NASA--which I only did at the time because I wanted him to have a space-themed bachelor party so that Napoleon would come home drunk after having one too many drinks that had been dubbed "Supernovas"), and Napoleon and Illya will pull the mother of all double-takes when they see Vincent Van Ghoul at the same party and momentarily mistake him for Victor Marton.
21. What other medium do you think your story would work well as? (film, webcomic, animated series?) Well, I intend for my stories to fit right into canon, so I generally see them in the same medium that they're originally in. Exceptions are whenever there are crossovers/cameos--I wrote a Scooby fic last year that had the 13 Ghosts fam being chased through ruined Hyrule by Calamity Ganon and basically imagined the fam drawn in Breath of the Wild/Age of Calamity-style for this fic, which was a very intriguing image, indeed.
22. Do you reread your old works? How do you feel about them? Yes, I do! For the most part, I like to see it as how far I've progressed since I started posting fic. Obviously, I'm going to think my newer stuff is better (though I also consider some of my older pieces "classics"), but that's only natural.

AIDA took away his and everyone else’s choice in the Framework. That entire world and those within it were exploited to get her what she wanted. And nearly everyone who was placed in there did things they would never do in the real world.
I think this is a key point!
I think most of us, when put in the kind of situation that Fitz went through in the Framework, would have a hard time processing all that happened there. It's not just that Fitz thinks of himself as a good person, it's that he's dedicated his life to being a good person. He took his heart and his brain and used them for the greater good. He protected agents and innocents. He solved problems and saved the world.
And while Fitz does pretend to have a big head at times, he's not really all that cocky about all the good he does. When he brags, he does it because he feels underappreciated. He worries that people won't actually see the good that he does, see that he actually is brave like everyone else that he works with. He brags so people will see him as their equal, because a part of him worries he isn't equal, and another part worries that no one will see him as equal, even if he is.
So, compare that person with the Doctor, and you end up scratching your head. The Doctor was interested dominance, not equality, and his method was cruelty, not kindness. How could Fitz have changed so much within the Framework? How was his good heart so easily turned black?
The truth is that both Fitz and The Doctor have the same weakness, and that AIDA was able to exploit that weakness to make him into the man she needed him to be. The Doctor may be the most powerful person in the world, next to her, but he doesn't feel as dominant as he pretends to be. AIDA always made him feel powerless, as if she would cast him aside unless he constantly proved that he was worthy of her. Imagine how exhausting and demoralizing that must have been! The twist of the knife comes when his father is added to the mix, since AIDA used his father to further exploit Fitz's weakness before they met and whenever she's not there do it herself. AIDA made sure that Fitz would never feel good enough, never feel whole, and go to a darker and darker place as he tried to hold on to AIDA and Alistair's "love."
That's why Fitz became The Doctor in the Framework, but Fitz hasn't figured this out yet. His weakness has been behind every arc he's had, and yet he still hasn't been able to pinpoint it, since it's a lot easier for us, the viewers, to see it.
He started to see it, right at the beginning. He told AIDA that she manipulated him, and she obviously did! AIDA instead convinced him that this is who he really is and what he always wanted, which is probably the cruelest thing AIDA did to anyone.
So, as Fitz looks back, he sees the dark man he became, but he's not exactly sure where it came from. He never thought he was capable of those kinds of things, and the truth is that Fitz would never, ever do those things in real life, but he really is capable of anything. And if he's capable of anything, how does he prevent himself from doing bad things in the future? How can he solve the problem of his own darkness if he doesn't understand its source?
But, now Fitz will he out in a situation where he will HAVE to be rough around the edges, because he'll be dealing with human traffickers. He'll have to pretend to fit in, and he'll say some things The Doctor would have said on order to get through that. And he may think that this is what will trigger his darkness, that he will act the part and become the person. Maybe there will be some painful moments when he remembers the horrible things he did. But I think he'll be surprised to find that it's just an act, that he can put on the costume and take it off without any real damage to anyone. In the end, he's just going undercover, like any agent would. He may open an old wound or two, but at least he's not creating a fresh one.
Hopefully, this will play a part in helping Fitz figure out why he became The Doctor in the first place. There will be no manipulation or abuse here. No strings being pulled. Only a real danger and a chance to save the day. My hope is that he goes in, comes out, and processes this a little more as he works to get the team back to the present. Maybe he will see that he still has a good heart, despite everything.
After all, Robin was the one who told him he was a hero.
a little bit of theory time re the framework and s5.
something Fitz said in 5x05 has been tickling at the edge of my brain… he brought up his traumatic brain injury and suggested that it had something to do with his supposed memory lapse… he even mentioned a psychotic break… like he feels that at odds with himself (*cue the sound of my heart breaking*).
But what if there were another reason he became the Doctor in the Framework (besides Aida rewriting his whole life narrative)? What if his brain was literally incompatible? Now we know from Agnes and Radcliffe both dying externally, that an active brain isn’t required (except apparently, if you do live, you get to keep a copy of the memories as a souvenir). All the framework needed for it’s simulation was a scan… Since that’s the case, it seems the machine is doing most of the work, and thus, I don’t think Fitz’s brain was actually physically damaged.
BUT what if his TBI effected his brain scan enough that the Framework thought Fitz was an angier, more violent person. What if that caused a glitch when the Framework was trying write Fitz in character with AIDA’s narrative. So we got a kinda OOC Fitz written by a simulator put into an elaborate alternate reality crafted by a bad fic-writing android…
another thought I had… what are the chances of the framework being revisited to somehow help Fitz purge the Doctor from his mind? Thus giving him at least the chance to control his own narrative and choose who he wants to be. Maybe rewrite his memories a bit so he can forget what happened in the framework but still know he was in there… just take away the unpleasantness… OR Even if he chose to keep the memories of the doctor, it would be on his terms (the darkest shadow vs. the brightest light type of thing) CAUSE I’D BE OPEN TO AT LEAST CONSIDERING THIS POSSIBILITY IF IT HELps HIm SLEEP AT NIGHT.
