every few months this irenedamned fandom has a new discourse regarding a certain character which usually goes like this:

somebody posts an unusually aggressive negative confession about said character -> said character's stans frantically post pro-character confessions in defense of their fave -> said character's haters post EVEN MORE hatefessions in response to the defensive confessions -> said character's stans post EVEN MORE confessions defending their fave from new hatefessions -> repeat steps 3 and 4 periodically for a finite amount of time -> discourse eventually fizzles out after a few weeks or months & fandom moves on pretending like nothing ever happened

last year this happened with kim, right now it's happening with michi... in a few months, this dumb discourse will claim yet another victim. my personal prediction is katelyn LOL.

so tiresome... 😔

Waifu Goddesses By Scottytheman Commissioned piece from @scottyartz This was a commission made for my 40th B-Day. I wanted to do a harem featuring my favorite females characters (past & present). I got inspired by a theme Roman/Greek Goddess motif by one of the MST3K Hercules movies and this was the result. OJT EATS | Menya Chikumo

While there may not be quite as many ramen shops in Taipei as in Tokyo or anywhere big city in Japan, it comes pretty close. We've been slowly making our way around to as many ramen shops in Taipei as we can and next on our list is Menya Chikumo.

Nestled in a small alley in the Zhong Shan district, it's right in the middle of the closest thing Taipei has to a Japan Town. Surrounded by izakayas, bars and other Japanese restaurants, this place often has a long queue of people waiting outside which in Taiwan is a pretty decent indicator of quality. We passed by recently and the queue wasn't as long as normal so we joined it.

First up were these gyozas. Crisp on top with a lovely juicy pork filling, these were a great little starter but nothing too special, but that's partly because Taipei is full of excellent dumplings.

Then onto some fried chicken. As I've always said, Asia does fried food exceptionally well. This was just another example of that. Super crispy on the outside and tender juicy chicken on the inside. So good!

Then it was onto the ramen. Chikumo specialises in chicken broth ramen so we figured we'd have to give it a go. The broth was really nice and rich, the char siu was tender and full of flavour but the eggs, at least in my opinion were a tiny bit overcooked. Ideally for me, they'd be just a little bit gooier.

We also tried their tsukemen just because we order it whenever it's on the menu. It was a decent one but not quite at the level of a Tsukemen Michi or even a Menya Itto (read about our visits to those places here and here respectively).

Last but by no means least was the now standard side of char siu rice along with our ramen. We really liked the big chunks of pork and the pile of spring onions on top. This was maybe our favourite part of the meal actually!

All in all, Menya Chikumo is a very solid ramen offering in Taipei but we're not sure it's fully worth the wait when the queue is more than 10 long (which it often seems to be). Without the wait, we'd probably be down there quite often but with the normal queue, there's just too much choice for good ramen in Taipei.

A pretty face meant nothing to Michi, it was a bonus. His head tilted, crimson eyes stared at Lye. His hearing was quite good. Now, what wouldn't be boring... Ah, yeah, that. "If you began to crawl on all fours and started panting like a dog or a cat, then perhaps, that may be entertaining." With how blank his expression was, it was hard to tell if he was joking or serious.

"People like to fake their actions, so if you act as your natural self, that's better." Although, fakes made an entertainment of their own. It meant he could crack them open like an egg to see their real selves. "I try to act natural too, people just don't seem to enjoy it much. Not my fault that people are pathetic or total assholes. "

"There's really no gems in me, merely existing as the person that gets stabbed on occasion by angry people."

☠ "Pretty boy? You think I'm pretty~?" Lye cackled, looking like he was trying to hold back a laugh. "If you think both are boring what do you find not boring?" He mused out loud, being quite obnoxious about it as well. Although the demon understood, when one lived long enough, most things got to be rather boring.

"Are you used to people trying too hard? I just do whatever I want, so don't expect too much." Whether or not this person was captivated was not up to him, and he could always find someone else that was more interesting to himself. "And can I ask what makes you a gem?"

*i like to think that Yuki becomes a librarian,hence Michi occasionally needing to go with Yuki to work,queue him finding his first volume of detective manga and it all went down from there.

*he acts a bit like kyoko,but in reality it’s just him mimicking the cool detectives in his shows.deep down he’s just as much of a dork as Yuki,just that he’s a dork who happens to love detective stories.

*he still has the divine luck.

*he views solving mysteries like a Columbo episode.you know the culprit,just need to prove its them.

*i can’t talk much about his early life so instead here are two scenarios I thought of while writing this.you probably won’t get the joke but I still want to showcase the character’s personality’s a bit more:(featuring Chizu even though we haven’t gotten to her updated bio)

We’re in a storage room,Chizu and Michi are both with us,there’s a stepladder.

(Hmm,there isn’t much to note in this room,just a storage room with a few things,better to investigate somewhere else-)

Michi:oh,a ladder.

Chizu:...you mean a step ladder,right?

Michi:...!

(Huh,Michi looks rather excited,wonder why...?)

Michi:is there a difference?

Chizu:yes,the step ladder is not only shorter,but also it can fold up and be carried.

Michi:i don’t see a difference.i mean,you can climb on them,and if you fall then you can have a concussion.trust me,one time I had to solve a “murder” case where that was how the victim died.

Kouhei:isn’t people falling from ladders common?

Michi:normally that would be a yes,but when it comes to these types of ladders their so small that the entire station refused to believe that was how the guy kicked the bucket,we had to rule out every single suspect until being pretty much forced to admit that was the cause.

Kouhei:I can’t imagine dying to a tiny ladder.

Chizu:I can’t imagine having it in my obituary that my death was so stupid that everyone refused to believe that was how I died until they had to admit it was the only way.

Michi:yeah,in my family it’s become a running joke that each time we take out a stepladder one of us tells the other to make it out alive.still pity the guy though...

Chizu:...did you just call it a stepladder?

Michi:anyways,let’s go investigate the next room.

Kouhei:...

(...did he just say that so that he could have an argument with Chizu?)

And:

Kouhei picks up a boomerang.

Kouhei:Hmm,looks standard,what do you think,Michi?

Michi:...

(He looks angry...)

Kouhei:uh...Michi?are you alright?

Michi:I swear,if someone here gets murdered with a boomerang I’m burning this whole place down....

Kouhei:EH?y-you can’t do that!thats against the law!and for a boomerang?

Michi:hey!slow down,Kouhei,it’s just a joke!i didn’t mean it seriously!

Kouhei:d-don’t scare me like that...

Michi:sorry,just that I don’t like boomerangs.

Kouhei:why?

Michi:...

(Okay,now he looks really angry...)

Kouhei:ah!did I say something wrong?

Michi:oh,no...it’s that just thinking about that episode just makes me angry.

1. When are you usually online?

I’m usually online during evenings and/or afternoons most active during either the late afternoon, evening or late at night my time. This does cause me to miss most activity & squeeze hours from later hours bc smh why do most ppl I write with have to be from States -

2. What verses are you involved in outside of this page?

My multimuse side blog (with the url @multiplelivesinline​). It’s multi-fandom even though Pokemon seems to dominate there atm, if I decide to write or test any other muse than Naoto I’m likely to add them instead of another single muse blog. Side blogs have their own small headaches but they’re easy enough to deal w/ for now since it’s mostly followed by people who are mutuals with me or specific fandom folks (Pkmn RPC).

3. What is your biggest RP pet peeve?

Not reading people’s rules before they’re following or lurking. This especially goes for personal blogs, with whom I’ve had several headache inducing situations. One other pet peeve I have is not having backbone to say that your muse isn’t always canon or that you have a ship bias: if your muse is bi/straight even though canon says otherwise don’t claim that they’re canon compliant. People will only feel lied to when they find out later that your muse is closer to a hc-based and that can lead to bad outcomes.

4. Are you drawn to specific types of muses?

Either calm, cool and collected muses who are using their first impression as a facade of sorts or muses who care too much on what others think or try to be the Hero Who Can Save Everyone. My gender bias seems to be on ladies even though one of my biased muses is Gladion from Sun/Moon, the edgelord brooding side cast whose backstory is sth what shook me at first but gave me reasons to care on him. One day I’m using his AU verse for BSD more.

5. Are there recurring themes in your writing that people might not notice?

The theme of how there can be darkness and failure in your life but it’ll always pass due time and how there’s small momemts of joy in life. It’s how I tend to see hurt/comfort or angst used for the best end goals and my personal mantra in life. Time heals all wounds, even though it might take months never give in or think that it’s worthless to even try. There is always a way and people to help you along the way, depressive shit or moments of desperation will exist but you will always survive through.

6. What are your favorite RP trends?

Slice of life stuff what is focused on small joys of life in middle of a greater storyline, character dynamics studies and how they fluctuate + the trend of opposites attract. In Naoto’s case it’s the concept of her personal growth during P4 and after it & how she’s not the most extrovert type piques my interest. and the gradual realization on why media Hell is a bad place to end up in. She hates that part of her career the most. 

The character dynamic is something I noticed later on the AUs what have a Naoto who isn’t too opposed to chaotic behavior/her temperament or ego taking over her rationality more. It’s thrilling to write the contrast what works fluently without any big hassle: Especially Michiru (1/4 angel!AU) has been a clear sign on how her type is an extrovertish person who can do things you wouldn’t assume from them or an anomaly. 

7. What is your process for starting a new story with someone?

A starter call and/or plotting calls continued with Tumblr IMs are an easiest entryway for starting a thread I want to plot. Another option is for me to send an ask and approaching you in IMs if I get an idea I 100 % want to do. I don’t personally do open RP posts and want clear plans so neither party will have an unpleasant experience. 

8. How do you feel about duplicates?

Duplicates are cool, and a neat thing to exist. I’m not chasing them away w/ a pitchfork. I can’t ofc assume that my girl will 100 % vibe with them automatically but if that happens assume me to throw an idea for a sibling/twin AU or multiverse interactions at some point. (Also if you get any ideas you’re welcome to go to IMs to plot around that & talk OOC stuff, I’m not the most outward person ever to exist & am likely to say hi back.)

9. How long have you been involved in roleplaying?

For about 5 and half years. I started this as an extension of my already existing writing hobby for own stories with OCs when my online friend enabled me to go for it and discovered pretty quickly that even though my Naoto was crappy at first I really enjoyed this & wanted to continue even though I had a rough patch at first. 

10. Is there a muse or verse you wish you could write in, but haven’t?

I’ve had the small interest to try writing Atsuro Kihara from DeSu for some time, probably the only thing stopping me is the lack of energy to sink hours to a JRPG to see if I have enough inspiration for that. The other character who I have memed on is writing Kanji or Yumi from P4. If I write Yumi though, I am deleting the forced romance BS. No forced romance paths, we delete their existence like based people who want fluent romances.

[ QUIET ] for one muse to menacingly put a finger over their mouth to indicate the other to hush.

Crimson eyes stared downwards at the woman, his tail rested behind him,  no movement. The silence was deadly the moment Michi pressed a clawed finger upon the woman’s lips. “Aaa... can you shut up for a second?” He asked, expression blank. He wasn’t mad at her talking, no, not at all, maybe slightly irritated is all.

“You’re one of Lawwy’s crew members right?” He questioned, his free hand poked at the symbol on her jumpsuit. He knew, he had watched her, stalked her, watched the whole crew. Why did he pick her? No reason, it was her own bad luck to be picked by the Hound. “Ikkaku right? That’s what I heard the others call you.” He mused, as his head tilted to the side.

“Would he be worried if you suddenly went missing?” So many questions, so much fun, at least to Michi who observed her every change of expression.
