🎞️ When it was announced that Mickey Mouse’s design from “Steamboat Willie” would be entering public domain, I contemplated whether or not to do my own take on Mickey’s particular design from 1928. Last October, I had done a drawing of Mickey with Tigger on animation paper to commemorate the 100th birthday of the Walt Disney Company. As a character, Mickey Mouse is still protected by copyright and trademark laws. Plus, A.A. Milne’s version of Tigger is now in the public domain. Tigger did not make his debut until the second (and last) original “Winnie the Pooh” book, “The House at Pooh Corner”. 🐭🐯

About two years ago, I post my frist meme in kinda the style I do them today.
While this blog is older, the frist post dating back to December 2020, I wanted to do something to celebrate, thus I remembered this meme about the "one thing you can't replace" by john mulaney.
So like, I made a video version. Happy anniversary technically.

Copy Right and Public Domain in 2024
Happy 2024 all! its also Public Domain Day! a magical holiday here in America where things enter the public domain. Works published in the year 1928 (or 95 years ago!) have entered the public domain, which means they belong to us, all of us, the public!
Mickey's Back!
Yes! I'm sure you've heard, but Mickey Mouse (and Minnie Mouse too) is entering the Public Domain today. This has been news for a few years and indeed Disney's lobbying in the late 1990s is why our copy right term is SO long. So what exactly is now public domain?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Most people know about Mickey's first appearance Steamboat Willie, but a second short film, Plane Crazy was also released in 1928 so will also be public domain. So what's public? well these two films first of all, you're allowed to play them, upload them to YouTube or whatever without paying Disney. In theory you'll be allowed to cut and sample them, have them playing in the background of your movie etc. Likewise in theory the image of Mickey and Minnie as they appear (thats important) in these films will be free to use as well as Mickey's character as he appears in these works will be free to use. Now Mickey's later and more famous appearance
Tumblr media
will still be protected. Famously the Conan Doyle Estate claimed that Sherlock Holmes couldn't be nice, smile, or not hate women in works because they still held the copyright on the short stories where he first did those things even though 90% of Sherlock Holmes stories were public domain. It's very likely Disney will assert similar claims over Mickey, claiming much of his personality first appeared in works still copyrighted.
Finally there's copyright vs trademark. Copyright is total ownership of a piece of media and all the ideas that appear in it, copyright has a limited set term and expires. Trademark is more limited and only applies to things used to market and sell a product. You can have a Coke branded vending machine in your movie if you want, but it couldn't appear anywhere in the trailer for your movie as thats you marketing your movie.
Where trademark ends and copyright begins and how trademarked something in the public domain is allowed to be are all unsettled areas of law and clearly Disney in the last few years as been aggressively pushing its trademark not just to Mickey in general but Steamboat Willie Mickey in particular
Tumblr media
Ultimately the legal rights and wrongs of this might not matter so much since few people have the money and legal resources of the Walt Disney corporation so they might manage to maintain a de facto copyright on Mickey through legal intimidation, but maybe not?
And Tigger Too!
All the talk about Mickey Mouse and Steamboat Willie has sadly overshadowed other MAJOR things entering the public domain today. Most people are aware Winnie the Pooh entered the public domain in 2022, but they might not realize his beloved friend Tigger didn't. Thats because Tigger didn't appear till A. A. Milne's second (and last) book of Pooh short stories, The House at Pooh Corner in 1928.
Tumblr media
Much like Mickey Mouse only what appears in The House at Pooh Corner is public domain so the orange bouncy boy from the 1960s Disney cartoon is still on lock down. But the A. A. Milne original as illustrated by E. H. Shepard is free for you to use in fiction or art. His friend Winnie the Pooh has made a number of appearances since being freed, most notably in a horror movie, but also a Mint Mobile commercial so maybe Tigger too will have a lot of luck in the public domain.
Other works:
Peter Pan; or the Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up
Peter Pan is a strange case, even though the play was first mounted in 1904, and the novelization (Peter and Wendy) was published in 1911, The script for the play was not published till 1928 (confusing!) meaning while the novel as been public domain for years the play (which came first) hasn't been, but now it is and people are welcome to mount productions of it.
Millions of Cats
Tumblr media
The oldest picture book still in print, did you own a copy growing up? (I did)
Lady Chatterley's Lover
The iconic porn novel that was at the center of a number of groundbreaking obscenity cases in the 1960s and helped establish your right to free speech.
All Quiet on the Western Front and The Threepenny Opera in their original German (but you can translate them if you want), The Mystery of the Blue Train by Agatha Christie, and Orlando by Virginia Woolf will also be joining us in the public domain along with any and all plays, novels, and books published in 1928
for Films we have The Man Who Laughs who's iconic image inspired the Joker
Tumblr media
Charlie Chaplin's The Circus, Buster Keaton's The Cameraman, Should Married Men Go Home? the first Laurel and Hardy movie, Lights of New York the first "all talking" movie, The Passion of Joan of Arc, The Wind, as well as The Last Command and Street Angel the first films to win Oscars for Best Actor and Best Actress respectively will all be entering public domain
For Musical Compositions (more on that in a moment) we've got
Mack the Knife by Bertolt Brecht, Let’s Do It (Let’s Fall in Love) by Cole Porter, Sonny Boy by George Gard DeSylva, Lew Brown & Ray Henderson, Empty Bed Blues by J. C. Johnson, and Makin’ Whoopee! by Gus Khan are some of the notables but any piece of music published in 1928 is covered
Any art work published in 1928, which might include works by Frida Kahlo, Georgia O'Keeffe, Alexej von Jawlensky, Edward Hopper, and André Kertész will enter the public domain, we are sure those that M. C. Escher's Tower of Babel will be in the public domain
Tumblr media
Swan Song, Public Domain and recorded music
While most things are covered by the Copyright Act of 1976 as amended by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, none of the copyright acts covered recordings you see when American copyright law was first written recordings did not exist and so through its many amendings no one fixed this problem, movies were treated like plays and artwork, but recorded sound wasn't covered by any federal law. So all sound recordings from before 1972 were governed by a confusing mess of state level laws making it basically impossible to say what was public and what was under copyright. In 2017 Congress managed to do something right and passed the Music Modernization Act. Under the act all recordings from 1922 and before would enter the public domain in 2022. After taking a break for 2023, all sound recordings made in 1923 have entered the public domain today on January 1st 2024, these include.
Charleston by James P. Johnson
Yes! We Have No Bananas (recorded by a lot artists that year)
Who’s Sorry Now by Lewis James
Down Hearted Blues by Bessie Smith
Lawdy, Lawdy Blues by Ida Cox
Southern Blues and Moonshine Blues by Ma Rainey
That American Boy of Mine and Parade of the Wooden Soldiers by Paul Whiteman and his Orchestra
Dipper Mouth Blues and Froggie More by King Oliver’s Creole Jazz Band, featuring Louis Armstrong
Bambalina by Ray Miller Orchestra
Swingin’ Down the Lane by Isham Jones Orchestra
Enjoy your public domain works!

Can you believe it little one? We're finally here! Where would you like to start? Yes, I can smell all the sugary treats; did you want to go to the confectionary first? Let's see what they have. Ohhh, what are you pointing at? The sugar cookies with chocolate dipped Mickey ears? Mmm, those do look yummy! Do you like the balloons? Which color is your favorite? Great choice! Here, let's tie it to your stroller and have you hop in so you can enjoy your cookie. So, which ride should we go on first? Peter Pan! That does sound exciting. It's fun to feel like we're flying! What's next? Jungle Cruise? I like that one too. But you have to sit close to me, little one. Look at all the fun animals; which ones can you see? Hippos? Elephants? There're the lions! That was so exciting! Oh, there's little shop here. I do see all the stuffies; would you like to pick one out? Who's your favorite character? I know, I love them all too. Very good choice; did you want to hold your stuff while I push you in your stroller? Okay, let's look for more things to do. I can see some familiar faces up ahead. Can you see? It's Mickey Mouse! And Winnie the Pooh and Tigger too! Do you want to say hello? Yes, you can give them a hug! Let Mama take a picture though! Big yawn, is someone getting tired? It's alright, my little one. Let's go back to the hotel so you can take a nap and then we can come back later tonight. That's right! We're going to watch the firework show! Don't worry about being needy and sleepy. Mama booked a whole week for her and her little one. A whole week of magic, just you and me!
(I hoped the person who requested this enjoyed it!)

Didn't Wanna Feel Older in 2024? TOO LATE!
So long, 2023! You have been a weird-@$$ year to say the least. Between by having to repair old thumb drives, purchase a new printer, finding out I'm susceptible to anxiety attacks, trying out dating for the first time, getting my Discord and Steam account hacked, starting a new Discord server since said account was never unhacked, opened myself up to commissions, managed to post art for Halloween, got Covid, summoned more Kaijus to play an elaborate game of poker, and had a merry enough Christmas. Here's hoping 2024 will prove better. At the moment I have no new goals, since I just want to relax after four months of constantly being active. There's a mile of books, movies, and TV shows I need to get caught up on! My opinions on all of them will be given in future Giraffe's Eye Views, but for now let's get to what you all came here for: yet another unnecessarily long list of things celebrating major milestones this year!
You all loved it when I did this last year. In fact it got more attention that anything else I posted, including the original art I put way more effort and time into. Nah, that didn't sting at all. Seeing my sketches get ignored is so much fun. Passive-aggressive joking aside, I do still love making these lists, so let's get started with some major stuff this year.
Tumblr media
Thanksgiving wasn't too long ago, so why not mention that the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade turns 100 this year? I know, that's insane! Watching this festive event has become a seasonal staple in my house and is the only reason I've ever signed up for Peacock. Thank goodness in all those years it hasn't been smashed by a giant monster.
Tumblr media
Godzilla turns 70 freak'n years old this year! How crazy insane is that? Here's hoping his old age won't slow him down when he teams up with King Kong this April. Even if it does, Gojira will continue being cinema's coolest character!
Tumblr media
Contrasting with the King of the Monsters, Mary Poppins turns 60 years old this year. This movie, considered to be Walt's last masterpiece, has aged considerably well even after all this time.

Public Domain is everything. The all encompassing freedom of Public Domain has never been more clear than in the horror genre. Poe, Lovecraft, Shelley, Verne, Stoker, Leroux- all up for grabs. But that doesn’t mean they’re the only ones getting the living touch of fear. Horror is bolstered by Public Domain, expanded by it, and it makes for some wild movies. Filmmakers lovingly poking at non-spooky classical literature is how you get fun little things like Pride and Prejudice and Zombies (2016). People wait with bated breath on their tippy toes to lampoon the stories they love by adding a little bloody flair. I can't wait to see what people do with Mickey Mouse. While these movies or books may not always be the best, they’re always worth a smile. But some people just end up bespoiling well known properties with what seems to be very little thought.
And that’s how we get thing like Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey.
Tumblr media
Where do I even begin here. This movie was a mess. First of all, Pooh and Piglet are the only two members of the Hundred Acre Wood who appear. Instant disappointment. Is it too much to ask that we get to see Eeyore go crazy and attack some unsuspecting young folk? You know behind all that ho-hum attitude there's got to be some rage brewing. What about Owl? Terror from above and ambush attacks oh how I wanted for thee. Kanga and a now grown Roo could have had some freaky mother/son crap going on. I mean it's a horror movie that actively corrupts these characters, so why not throw in a little weird anthropomorphic animal incest? Roo always was quite attached to his mother. Rabbit could have been unnaturally fast, a speed killer, nothing but a blur before victims were tugged off the screen to their untimely demise. Plus the munching? Rabbits are munchers. Imagine big Rabbit munch crunching on bones like they were carrots. Gopher could have been a knock-out, huge mounds of earth moving towards someone until he snatched them up like he was a giant worm in Tremors (1980). That's just off the top of my head.
These are things that could have related the characters to their original properties, which the movie doesn't even do for the only two characters from the Hundred Acre Wood that are actually in it.
Tigger. Tigger was not in this movie. I am livid just thinking about it. I don't like to swear too much when I write my silly little spook studies, but honestly what the fuck? What the fuck! He is a tiger! You know, one of the deadliest ambush predators in existence? On average they apparently kill 1800 people every year. He could have been Shere Khan times a thousand. Plus he bounces? That would have been freak city. It just felt like one of Blood and Honey's many missed opportunities. They could have each had one amazing kill apiece, the body count in this movie was certainly high enough for it. Kanga, Roo, Rabbit, Eeyore, and Gopher I can understand not using, even though Roo was always my personal favorite.
No Tigger though? Unfathomable. Tigger got his own movie. I know the full group is big and maybe too much to tackle, but Tigger is such a popular character it felt weird that he wasn't in this. We get Pooh and we get Piglet. Two characters must mean they both must look amazing, though, right?
Wrong. The design for them was bad, plain and simple. It really grinds my gears thinking of all the wasted potential of having Blood and Honey be a Milne property. It could have been so campy and weird and fun and instead we got two guys walking around with masks on. They looked like a couple of friends put together Halloween costumes for 'scary Pooh and Piglet' and splurged on the good masks. The rest of the costuming consists of clothes you might find in your weird uncle's closet. There were no alterations to any part of them below the neck. They had human feet, human hands, and human mannerisms. Pooh is wearing overalls. Piglet is fully dressed as well, but at least his clothing is worn. Pooh's plaid shirt, on the other hand, looks practically brand new. The only clothing Pooh should have been wearing is a tattered red crop top. Piglet should have been naked. I mean how gross would that have been? Naked Piglet, hog out, goring you to death. Now that would have been a good time!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Money was almost definitely the issue. When faced with a movie that was as much of a let down as this one, sometimes it's hard to remember to take those things into account. Less money, less cast, less effects. 'Shoe-string budget' might even be too generous to describe what the cost of this movie. But it isn't necessarily about the money you have, rather where that money goes. I think Tigger should have been budgeted for. Maybe lower the body count, which saves on actor pay, costuming pay, and special effects pay. Keep it to one or two simple locations with minimal travel. With unfathomably small budgets like the one for Blood and Honey, it might have been beneficial to tighten it up even more. Shrink it, contain it, make it more intimate. Blood and Honey felt too big for its britches. Perhaps there should have been more focus on the costuming, makeup, and effects that might have gone into our childhood comfort characters. I'm very passionate about the practical elements in movies, so these designs were totally disappointing to me.
I've spent a lot of time talking about things this movie didn't do, which can be a bit unfair considering the constraints of budget and production. I try my best to take movies as they are presented, but Blood and Honey gave me so little it makes it easy to talk about what might have been. Why not this, why not that. But let's get back into what the movie was.
The story, unfortunately, wasn't strong enough to make up for the lackluster creature designs. In typical Christopher Robin fashion, he eventually grows up and says goodbye to his friends. He had always brought sweets and tea with him, but upon his cessation they can't provide for themselves, go crazy and, for lack of a better term, become cannibalistic. They eat poor Eeyore.
Is it cannibalism if they're eating a member of a different species? Not really, but I think that's probably the best way to describe it. They eat him because they begin to starve.
Pooh, who notoriously scavenges for honey and should be hibernating anyway starves. Rabbit, who has his own garden and would stockpile for winter starves. Gopher would eat roots, Owl would hunt for small prey, both starving. Kangaroos eat mushrooms, among other things, and they both still starve. Piglet is potentially the only ones who would have difficulty providing for himself just because pigs need a rich diet and a lot of food. But in the source material they have a communal table, and even feed Christopher Robin. But there's no gory family meal here; it turns out they cannot live without the food he brought with him. Real animals can and do become food dependent on humans, but these characters are not fully animals. The movie even tells you so, calling them abominations. They have human intellect! They have a community. They built houses. They swing knives and hammers around with deadly intent. But they can't do farming. Seems they can eat ass with the best of them, though.
Tumblr media
While we see Eeyore's munched upon skeletal remains, there's no explanation for the rest of the group being missing. Were they eaten, frozen to death, or killed by a hunter? If the movie did tell me I ended up missing it, which was no surprise because guess what? They do not speak! They don't fucking speak! Why isn't killer Pooh "hoo-hoo"-ing? Where were the rumblies in his tumbly before he ate someone? That iconic voice coming out of a huge man-bear as he kills? Come on. I mean it's right there! Honestly I felt like so many issues with this movie could have been solved if they were given dialogue. Every member of the Hundred Acre Wood talks, that's just part of it.
Christopher Robin wasn't just imagining his adventures either. His friends are real. So where was the camp? Beloved early childhood characters turned killers is such a fun idea, so where was the fun? Why did it feel like this movie wanted it to be taken so seriously? It's Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, not Deliverance (1972).
Upon being "abandoned" by Christopher Robin, they grew resentful of humanity and eventually turned into killers of people, not just depressed donkeys. This makes enough sense, except they're active serial killers and have been for what seems like years. They plot, kidnap, and torture with intent and there's a slew of unsolved murders and disappearances in the Hundred Acre Wood. This suggests the Wood is traversed regularly enough to at least find some bodies. So why does anyone go there anymore? How many people have to die for the Wood to be fully canvassed? Why was there a huge mansion right on the edge of it, which our completely forgettable human characters rent?
Given the evidence, it should have been easy enough for law enforcement to find their little encampment, it isn't like it's hidden or invisible. Plenty of characters go there, too, so it isn't only accessible to children. That could have been interesting, if you needed the eyes of a child to get there. Plus, it would have forced the introduction of a character who's representative of the source's target age group, making it easy for the viewer to relate to their younger self- the version that actually watched or read Winnie the Pooh. Everyone in Blood and Honey is a young adult or older.
By far the biggest travesty of all is that Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey isn't a monster movie, it's a slasher movie. Every one of Christopher Robin's friends is an animal, but the filmmakers decided not to make a monster movie. Why even bother with the property, then? Pooh is running around with knives and weapons, doing hand-to-hand combat, drowning people. Folks, he drives a car.
He drives a car.
Tumblr media
Insane. Absolutely insane.
I mean what in the hell? They are strange chimeras, amalgamations of human and animal. Blood and Honey leaned so heavily into human that they hardly seemed like animals at all. This also doesn't make much sense within the logic of the movie. Pooh can drive a car and stalks kids with the intention to scare, torture, and kill them, but god forbid he figures out scavenging or farming for food. Sure, Piglet munches down on some people, but only after tying them up or fighting them. A home invasion slasher movie. Villains in proverbial "Cabin in the Woods" movies can be basically anything- killers, monsters, aliens, animals, cannibals, demons, witches, gods, the Devil, viruses, zombies, werewolves, ghosts, mistaken perceptions, oneself, children, mental instability, Nazis, Kathy Bates- see what I'm saying? It was always going to be a cabin in the woods movie because it's set in the Hundred Acre Wood. That didn't mean it had to be a slasher.
Perhaps the filmmakers thought how serious it was would be funny enough on its own; it shouldn’t have been hard to make this satire. But if that was what this movie was going for, it didn’t land for me. There just wasn't much use of the source material. That was honestly the most frustrating thing. I kept waiting, and the Winnie the Pooh of it all never made an appearance. Why didn't he get caught in a window? Why wasn't he gulping down human blood from a honey jar, the label 'honey' crossed out for 'human?' Why couldn't he like, I don't know, control bees or something? Piglet turning into just a wild boar would have done it for him. Imagine Pooh and his pet Piglet on a leash. Hilarious, weird, a joke on how attached Piglet is to Pooh. The things that could have been!
Still, there were plenty of kills with plenty of blood, which was a saving grace. They had decent enough effects and were all pretty unique. Some of them are right gnarly, and that's always a plus for a horror movie. While many of the kills did make me laugh, just having the killers be Pooh and Piglet wasn’t quite enough. It was a constant string of asking 'what?' because there was just zero connection to Milne's works. They didn't talk so there were no zingy one-liners or tongue-in-cheek references. It was played too much like a straight slasher movie. Again: why a slasher and not a monster movie? Crush my dreams, why don’t you. I think it wanted to be satire, but where were the references? Where were the jokes? Where was the camp? Where was the hightened reality? I kept rolling my eyes: 'That's guy's not Winnie the Pooh,' 'What does this have to do with Winnie the Pooh?' There was no Pooh or Piglet about them, they were just dudes in masks. It's just a mask. It's just a mask!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
They could have been switched for the guys from You're Next (2011) and I don’t think you would have needed to change a thing. The killers in You're Next even wear animal masks. So what's the point of having it be a Pooh property? There was no reason for them be from the Hundred Acre Wood other than to say they were. It felt like first-time writer/director/editor/producer Rhys Frake-Waterfield had written a slasher movie, then once Winnie the Pooh entered public domain he just tossed them in without changing anything. He also maybe took on too many jobs for this movie.
There's low budget, and then there's doing four different jobs yourself. Outside opinions and suggestions are essential to movie making. Producers think about what will attract audiences and money. Editors have an additional artistic eye and the conversations between they and the director almost always make for better movies. Quentin Tarantino used editor Sally Menke in every one of his movies until her passing because she got it. The original Star Wars trilogy was probably saved by George's then wife and editor Marcia Lucas if the post-divorce prequel trilogy is anything to go by. (Please don't come for me Star Wars fans.)
These were collaborations. A director needs outside opinions. Needs more than one pair of eyes looking at the final product. That goes double if they are also the writer. Killing your darlings is hard if no one is telling a writer where their own story is lacking. It's good to have a singular vision, but movies by nature are a cooperative work. So where was the behind-the-camera cooperation?
And just a little thing: it's the Hundred Acre Wood, singular. Not the Hundred Acre Woods, plural. Steam is coming out of my ears. Stuff like that kills me dead, because it makes it seem like no one even cared enough to check the name. And if they did, they didn't care enough to make it right. Why make it Winnie the Pooh at all? What's the point if you aren't going to pay attention to the details?
Tumblr media
Despite my dislike, I truly hope Rhys Frake-Waterfield keeps making movies. It’s clearly something he wants and loves to do. I just think in ten years he’ll look back on this movie and cringe. Because it was cringe-worthy. I don’t enjoy disliking movies like this because the people who make horror tend to be very passionate about it.
I wanted this movie to be good, or at least a funny, entertaining bit of trash horror. I really wanted it to work. For a wide array of movies, people go in expecting it to be good. With most horror, however, people go in expecting it to be bad. See the difference? I try hard to give every horror movie I see the benefit of the doubt: sure it looks bad, but until it comes out I’m assuming it’s good. Because you never know!
Then I found out whether this movie was a good one, a so-bad-it’s-good one, or a bad one.
This movie was bad. For me it wasn’t even so-bad-it’s-good. The heartbreak of it all. I’m sure there’s more to be said, but I’m just sick and tired of even thinking about it; I this movie was that much of a let down. Not for me. I’m angry over it, frustrated, and a little bit baffled. How did this happen? I grew up with Pooh and friends, like many of us did, and I think we deserved a better horror movie about them than this one. I just kept asking why. Why, why, why.
Tumblr media
How to even end this write-up? I didn't even mention how bored I was for the duration, either. Eye-rolling. It just stunk. It was hardly good for a laugh, there was no point to it being Winnie the Pooh, no references, no satire, no camp, no fun, no point of view, no nothing. It was a big fat wad of nothing. The idea was so wasted on this movie it felt like it wasn't used at all. Honestly it might have been better if it had just been two regular-degular killers. This movie was so disappointing and I disliked it so much I'm going to be a bit mean: Rhys Frake-Waterfield should be embarrassed. I would be. He just didn't seem to know how to use the characters.
Am I being a bit harsh? I don’t know, probably. But it just didn’t do it for me. Should I tell you to check it out? I don’t know. Maybe stoned? But I was stoned so what does that mean? Perhaps it was so not my taste that I’m missing something. I hope there are people out there who totally love this movie. Unfortunately, I'm not one of them.
I'd give this a zero if I didn't believe in my self-imposed rules about rating on one to five. To that note, in my book Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey (2023) gets an obvious 1/5.

Bucky X Autistic Child
- [ ] Plot: Tony, Pepper, Morgan, Anthony, Wendy, and Bucky are all at Disneyworld. When Wendy gets overwhelmed during the Haunted Mansion ride, Bucky comes to the rescue. Along with other surprises throughout the trip.
- [ ] Will be five parts-Not all going to include overstimulation episodes but some will.
-Warning: The usage of the r word is almost revealed, alcoholism, and yelling in certain parts.
Magic Kingdom
Everyone was tired. From Tony’s kids who were no younger than five and two to Bucky, who was sipping on his second cup of coffee. The gang all waited for the bus, Wendy who has her safety bag with her. Bucky, sitting next to her.
“You excited?” Bucky softly asks. Wendy nods, playing with her Winnie the Pooh bag, feeling the texture of her bag.
“I get we have to go together but I wish it was the two of us.” Wendy whispers. Bucky smiles softly as Morgan screamed. Pepper got her to quiet down but Wendy was covering her ears. Bucky’s cold metal hand traces down her skin, creating little goosebumps across her skin. The weather was cool with the wind brushing against there skin.
“I know, but this trip wouldn’t be possible without Tony. He’s the richest man in the world, but guess what? I have a little surprise for just us.” Bucky perked up, reasoning. Wendy perked up, smiling a little.
“What is it?!” Exclaiming a little too loudly. Bucky shushed her lightly, smiling lightly.
“It wouldn’t be a surprise if I told you. Just have to wait and see.” Bucky encourages right as the bus comes out and everyone loads in. The ride was smooth, little to no bumps and they get off to the entrance which was loaded with people, bustling from left to right. Wendy’s heart started beating hard as she walked with Bucky. Bucky could see the reaction she was having and sympathized.
“Are you anxious about the amount of people here or you anxious about waiting?” Bucky asks.
“I’m okay waiting, it’s the people.” Wendy responds, which Bucky smiles relieved, rubbing her back.
“I know it’s a lot and we’ll go slow. Remember there’s going to be a lot of people today.” Bucky reminds as Wendy nods, chewing her nails.
“I’m sorry.” Wendy apologizes.
“No, it’s okay. You’re nervous, you don’t need to apologize for expressing your feelings. Thank you for telling me, now let’s go.” Bucky comforts, asking her questions about the rides and characters she wanted to meet today. Wendy mentioned Tiana, Rapunzel, Peter Pan, Winnie the Pooh, and Tigger.
“Really, no Mickey Mouse and his friends? That’s odd.” Tony says.
“Tony, take Anthony! I need to get the passes!” Pepper orders and Tony takes the baby as Pepper deals with screaming Morgan, the machines, and security. They all get through security with little to no trouble but had to check Wendy’s bag. Wendy was hesitant, rubbing her bag’s texture. The Winnie the Pooh loungefly felt comforting. Bucky stood with her in the line where security was checking people’s bags, going into them. Wendy shook her head and tried to walk away but Bucky stops her.
“It’s alright, it’ll be quick I promise.” Bucky said. Wendy rocks nervously on her toes, flapping. When the security guard called her up, Bucky and Wendy went over to them to which they had to dodge a verbal argument where a burly forty year old man is yelling profanities. Bucky quickly covers Wendy’s ears, going to the section where they take her bag and check it, putting there hands in her bag. Gasping but stays calm, flapping as Bucky continues to cover her ears. When they were done, the woman inspector gives Wendy back her bag, smiling her.
“Thank you, sweetie!” Praising her and pulled out a Mickey Mouse sticker, handing it to her.
“This for you for being brave while I looked through your bag.” The security continues to praise as Wendy nods, taking the sticker from her. Bucky, holding back happy tears, thanking her.
“Wendy, say thank you for the sticker.” Bucky instructs and does as she is told, not looking at her thought. Holding her bag and sticker, she walks away. Bucky thanks her again and leaves, continuing to give her pressure, squeezing her shoulders.
“You did great! I know that’s hard, having someone touch your stuff but you were great and you got a sticker, that’s cool. Let’s put it in your bag so you don’t lose it.” Bucky supports, opening the lounge, joining the rest of the group who get scanned with the magic bands and into the park. They walk on Main Street, people are going straight ahead. Wendy is holding onto Bucky’s hand, squeezing it. Making their way to Fantasyland. They book it to Peter Pan where Tony and his family go into the lightning lane pass. Bucky follows them but Tony stops them.
“Oooh, about that metal hand. I only got lightning lane for my family. You guys will be standing in Standby.” Tony says obnoxiously with Bucky rolling his eyes, sighing.
“Okay. However, you did know we were coming.” Bucky says, annoyed. His body was heating more from the sun as he looks at Wendy.
“We did, but you know…my kids are very young and Wendy, well…they don’t yet understand her condition. It’s just easier for us to do it like this.” Tony says as they leave. Bucky, fuming on the inside. His eyes were welling up with tears, his mouth creasing into a frown, gritting his teeth in an effort to keep himself from crying. Wendy tries to follow Tony and his family, flapping when Bucky stops her. Wendy, resists pulling at his non metal hand. He squeezed his grip but not too hard as to not hurt her.
“We’re going on this ride. Why aren’t we going with uncle Tony?” Wendy asks. Bucky, fuming as his hand was turning hard and quick. However when he saw Wendy pulling, more from the pain he loosened his grip.
“I know we’re going on this ride, but we have to go through the standby line and it’ll be like that throughout the day. Come on.” Bucky softly says as Wendy, feeling guilty and stand in line patiently. Excited as she feels the texture of the walls, Bucky encourages her to look up and around the artwork, looking at the holographic of pixie dust. Wendy smiles and flaps, excited as the screen reflects that. Bucky smiles and they breeze through the line, finally getting on. Wendy rocks, gripping her bag. When she saw Tinkerbell, she dropped the bag and flaps, smiling. When they were done, Wendy grabs her bag and exit. They meet up with Tony and his family. He explains that he got his family the Premier pass, but promised to go on one ride with them. When Pepper took the kids to the bathroom. Bucky and Tony talk.
“You know you could’ve gotten her the disability pass. She clearly needs it.” Tony tells Bucky.
“How does she need it? She was fine in the Peter Pan and that was one of the longer ones. We prepared for this trip, I think she’ll be okay.” Bucky reassures which Tony scoffs at. Bucky is offended slightly but holds it in. When Pepper and the kids come out, Wendy sees her dad’s reaction and goes to him.
“Dad, you okay?” Wendy asks. Bucky nods and walks with them around the park, going on ride after ride. From Prince Charming’s Carousel, It’s a small world, Mad Tea Party, Under the Sea-Journey of The Little Mermaid with Wendy rocking back and forth whenever she sees Ariel. Bucky smiles softly at her, letting her stim as the ride continues on and At Mickey’s Philharmagic show, Wendy rocks back and forth on her toes, waiting to go into the auditorium. When they enter, they are met with cool air. The theater is dark blue with velvet curtains and a screen. Bucky has her sit down next to her with Pepper sitting next to them. It took a moment before the show began and they were off. It ended up being a success but Wendy began shutting down as the sound blares in her ear. Bucky rubs her back throughout the show and smiles again seeing Ariel. Flapping her hands, eyes going wide as she attempts to get rid of excessive stimulation. Despite Bucky whispering apologizes to people around her, some people are less than impressed giving death glares to Bucky. In all of the years Bucky has been raising Wendy, he’s learned overtime to let Wendy stim as it helps her regulate emotion. Masking has only damaged Wendy which he learned from Mrs. Ringer. The show concludes and everyone leaves. Wendy began to feel her overstimulation start, she kept smiling, but Bucky could tell her eyes continuing to shut down. Bucky pulled her to the side, bending down. Wincing as his knees cricked and cracked at the motion.
“You okay, doll? Do you want to take a break? I know you were flapping at the show.” Bucky asks.
“You’re not mad are you?” Wendy cautiously backs away. Bucky takes her hands and squeezes them tight.
“No, I’m not mad. Just making an observation. I saw a couple seats back-” Bucky explains when Pepper rushes up to them, her breathing heavy as she’s trying to explain the situation.
“So Tony made a mistake. We don’t have Premier Pass. We have lightning lane and he got six of them for Haunted Mansion and we need to use it now. Come on!” Pepper running with Morgan. Wendy was going to join, but Bucky had her walk fast. They arrived with minutes to spare and they all got in. However, when the ride began, it was dark and cold. Wendy began banging on her leg, clawing at her face, Bucky holds her hand. The music was louder and louder with the cries of Morgan and Anthony not long after them. It sent her over the edge, hitting her head as the ride got louder, each haunted noise coming rang through the ride.
“Let me out of here! Let me out of here!” Yelling. Bucky gives her a squeeze, trying to add pressure to her state.
“I know, it’s almost done. Sssh, sssh.” Comforting but the pulling continued, her body feeling tense and shaken. Her body went into shut down mode, making tiny motions in pulling her hair. Whimpering a little. Transitioning to pulling her hair and biting her arm, sending teeth marks into her hand. Bucky comforted her, sending little massages to her neck, taking his one free hand to rubbing her hand.
“Almost there, almost there.” Comforting her. When the ride ended, Wendy got up and ran out of the ride. Bucky followed her, trying to stay close behind her. Bucky following her, is exhausted as he finds her curled up in a ball the Country Bear Jamboree. Bucky finds her and kneels down.
“Doll, it’s alright. Can you look at me?” Bucky comforts.
“I want to go home. I wanted a break but aunt Pepper came and told us about Haunted Mansion…ughhhh!” Yelling. People look at her and Bucky. Bucky, feeling heat rise in his cheeks, sits next to her.
“That was crazy. I know you want to go home, but we can’t right now. Remember I have that surprise for us. You want to stick around for that, right?” Bucky encouraged. Pulling out his metal hand, Wendy looked hesitant at him, then at the people around him. Bucky saw her face and comforted her.
“It’s okay. You can stim with it.” Bucky affirms, holding out his hand. Wendy hesitates to touch it, however, once she plays with the hand. Feeling the cool vibranium metal against her hand. Wendy, her breathing pressing against her lungs felt more evened.
“Too much, too much!” Wendy repeats over and over. Bucky lets her, shushing her lightly. Squinting her eyes, she balls her hands and puts them towards her eyes, Bucky quickly pulls out her bag and hands her the Disney princess fidget spinner.
“Use this.” Bucky advises. Wendy uses it, rocking back and forth, spinning the fidget spinner faster and faster. The atmosphere becomes less overwhelming to the point where her focus regains. She’s still silent with Bucky pulling out her water bottle, opening the bottle and handing it to her.
“Here drink this darling.” Advising as Wendy lets the cool water take over her system. Cool, refreshing water relaxing her system. She felt shut down still, but the hair pulling stopped. When he saw her calm down, she fidgeted with the fidget spinner some more as Bucky smiles at her.
“You feeling better darling?” Bucky asks with Wendy’s cheeks rising to a hot red. Seeing this, he began rubbing her back up and down.
“I…I feel better. Sorry I ran out of the ride like that.” Wendy apologize, continuing to spin the fidget spinner.
“Yeah, I won’t lie to you that scared me. The last thing I want is to lose you. However, you were trying to cope and the ride can be a lot. Can you promise me you won’t run off like that anymore?” Bucky explains, his heart beating thinking about losing her and all of his intrusive thoughts about kidnapping and Hydra/the Red Room. Wendy saw his forehead tense and frown expand, hugging him.
“I’m sorry dad. I didn’t mean to scare you.” Wendy apologizes as Bucky hugs him, kissing her head. They stay like this for a few minutes. Cast Members letting in people to see the Country Bear Jamboree. Bucky releases, wiping his tears and smiles softly.
“Thank you for that hug. Think we both needed that hug.” Bucky says, wiping away Wendy’s tears Wendy does the same by taking her finger and wiping away his tears. Bucky laughter softly, pride washing in his eyes.
“Thank you. No more crying, we are in Disney! So for the rest of the day, no more crying okay?” Bucky says as Wendy nods. Bucky smiles before looking at the time and smiles.
“Wendy, do want to go on some rides or do you want to meet characters? There’s a place I saw where we can meet Ariel and other princesses.” Bucky offers.
“Meet characters. Need a break from rides.” Wendy says as she gets up. Bucky stands up and leads her away from Frontierland and into Fantasyland. Wendy’s cheeks were stretched out from ear to ear as she talks to Tiana, who they discussed having beignets and gumbo, which Wendy fiddled with her dress not looking at her. She smiled for the camera and then hugging her softly, heading to Rapunzel. There was a big party behind her so she took some time talking to Wendy. Bucky took pictures.
“You’ve seen my friend Pascal lately? He’s always hiding but if you find him, you’ll let me know.” Rapunzel says. Wendy nods, stimming with her hair, feeling the texture.
“Wendy, don’t-“ Bucky panicked but the Cast Member assured him it was fine.
“Oh yes, my hair is very soft. Flynn always compliments it. The flowers give that wow factor.” The cast member encouraged. Flapping slightly as Rapunzel got ready for the picture. Bucky took pictures of his own and joined in. When they were done, they got out of the building.
“Can we see Ariel now?” Wendy asks, taking the lead for the first time. He was happy and nodded, making there way to the Ariel meet and Greet. Despite the water hitting the rocks bothering her ears, it was a smooth line. No longer than 15 minutes as they got in pretty quickly. Bucky kept checking his phone from time to time, making sure the surprise was still executed. Ariel calls her over and sits down. Excited as she stims over to her.
“Hello my friend. I see you have lots of trinkets in your bag. Are you a collector like me?” Ariel asks.
“Yes. I mostly collect fidgets. They help me relax mostly. My favorite is my dad’s vibranium arm.” Wendy exclaims as Bucky laughs softly. Ariel asks Bucky about the arm which he shows her.
“Oooh! That’s something I think flounder would like. If you see him, let me know.” Ariel says as Wendy nods, taking a picture, and hug before leaving.
“Dad, you didn’t mind me mentioning your arm, did you?” Wendy asks. Bucky was a little insecure but knew she didn’t mean to put him on the spot. His heart raced a little before filling his lungs with air before explaining.
“In the future you could mention the fidget spinner and not my arm. Makes me uncomfortable sometimes.” Bucky explains with Wendy apologizing, playing with his arm in his pocket.
“It’s okay, you didn’t know. I think Peter Pan is available, want to see him?” Bucky asks as Wendy nods and they make there way to Peter Pan. Waiting, again was an easy wait. Going up, Wendy was shy but Peter Pan saw her Tinkerbell shirt, they got her going on that. Wendy loosened up about Tinkerbell and Neverland. Smiling for a picture and hugging them before leaving. They walked around, Wendy flapping a little as they spent some time together, shopping and taking pictures. Not worrying about Tony and his family. When it reached 4:00, Bucky smiled small, transitioning his focus from his phone to Wendy.
“Wendy, it’s time for part one of your surprise. I know you want to know, but you trust me don’t you?” Bucky explains and Wendy nods, holding Bucky’s hand as they make their way down. Wendy was curious as they kept walking down until they got to The Many adventures of Winnie the Pooh to which Wendy flapped her hand.
“EEEEH! EEEH!” Wendy squeals, racing to the line. Bucky laughs as he stops her, guiding her to the Lightning lane section. Bucky puts his black band against the machine which beams green, making a jingle type sound. He helped Wendy use her key card to scan in the machine which works.
“EEEEEE!” Squealing as she grabs Bucky’s hand and they race across the lightning lane. Bucky slows her down when the line stops near the entrance to the ride, giving her a front hug.
“Oooh! The hugging bear gotcha!” Bucky says, playfully. Rocking her from side to side. When they got up front, Bucky tells the cast member the party of two and they are up in the front. Flapping as they wait. People stare at her with little kids whispering. One mother taps Bucky’s shoulder and turns around.
“Control your kid. She’s freaking my kid out.” Rudely snapping at Bucky. Wendy heard and stopped stimming, chewing her thumb’s nail. Bucky hugs her tightly.
“It’s alright, it’s alright.” Bucky comforts, softly speaking. The honey comb ride came. It was laced with purple paint and brown bars. The doors open and they got in.
“You ready?” Bucky asks, softly. Wendy looks behind her and nods lightly. The ride starts, feeling the cool air brush against there skin. Wendy smiles softly at Pooh, pointing from time to time at Pooh. Bucky smiles, rubbing her arm. When the ride finished, they got out collecting everything and got out of the ride.
“What did you think? Did you like it?” Bucky asks lightly as Wendy nods. Controlling her stimming to which Bucky comforts, seeing the princesses again and guides her to that. This time, they got in line to see Cinderella. People were trying to control there kids to other “Karen’s” yelling at cast members.
“My child wanted Elena!” A mother yelled. Bucky could see couples arguing and kids crying. He shook his head as they moved up in the line. Looking at the time, seeing them right there. Cinderella sees Wendy and goes to her, says hi and talks to her. Wendy doesn’t look at her from time to time. Smiling as they take there picture and leaves. There next princess was Jasmine and they speak about there plans and wishes. Bucky could tell that she was nervous and stepped in, helping her talk. They ended with a pose and hug. They left, with Wendy gripping her stomach.
“What’s wrong? Your stomach hurting?” Bucky asks.
“Hungry.” Wendy replies.
“Well, you’re in luck. It’s time to see the second part of your surprise.” Bucky responds and they leave. Going from Fantasyland to Main Street, Bucky’s feet started to hurt. The everlasting journey came to an end when they were at the Crystal Palace, Wendy was near Bucky as he put in the confirmation to which the cast member confirms, going off to the side to which they wait. Wendy rubs Bucky’s hand as they wait, Bucky hides a smile. Waiting, they start to see the castle light up. Wendy looks at it and flaps a little.
“Dad, look! Look!” Exclaiming as Bucky nods and points at the castle lighting up. Flapping however she saw people looking, stopping. Waiting became hard as each party was being seated but Bucky was relieved as Wendy kept spinning her spinner, giggling a little. Eventually, after twenty minutes a cast member came out, holding a slip of paper.
“Winnie the Pooh and Friends would like to welcome the Barnes family!” A cast member called. Bucky gestures Wendy forward and they get seated. Wendy bounced lightly in her seat, looking at all the different colors and textures of the restaurant. It had an 1800 feel to it with plants coming out at the center. Wendy rocked slightly. A waitress came up to there table.
“Hello, welcome to the crystal palace. My name is Maria and I will be your server today. Just so you know this is a buffet restaurant so feel free to go get your food. In the meantime, can I get you started on drinks.” Maria introduces as Wendy orders a Rootbeer while Bucky orders coffee. Maria nods and leaves, Wendy gets up with Bucky following her to the food. While Bucky gets Roasted Carved Beef, Mashed potatoes, and vegtables, Wendy gets the Shrimp Creole, vegetables, and gets a variety of dessert. They sit at the table and eat their food. Bucky knew that eating somewhere new would be a struggle, so he helped her by pointing outside where they could see the shops. They were so busy that they didn’t notice that Piglet approached them, tapping Wendy on the back. Wendy, startled looked up and saw Piglet.
“EEEH!” Excitedly squealing in which the character giggled a little and Bucky shushed her lightly, smiling. Wendy, flapping as she got up and hugged the character, letting the character’s squeeze consume her. Letting go, she talked about Winnie the Pooh as the character reacts, taking pictures with both Bucky and her. Thanking Piglet, Piglet leaves to the next table. Bucky sees the smile spread across her face, her hands flailing back and forth. The drinks come and Bucky raises his glass.
“Wendy, cheers to being together!” Bucky says and they clink glasses. They con tinue to eat with Wendy rushing.
“Slow down, kiddo. We have time.” Bucky cautions and she listens to him by taking slow intricate bites. Tigger comes bouncing by, flapping more as she hugs him. Her arms flailing back and forth.
“She’s been bouncing today.” Bucky says as Tigger bounces a little, giving Wendy kisses. Bucky takes photos of them and joins in himself. Wendy gives Tigger one last hug and he leaves. Letting her stim, he helps her to her seat.
“You want your spinner or pop it?” Bucky asks, trying to have her breathe. Wendy flaps more, her arms flailing across her body. Bucky goes into her bag and pulls out the spinner, handing it to her. Wendy takes it and is slowly calming down, spinning the spinner fast. Rocking back and forth, helping herself to more vegetables and shrimp. Letting it sink into her mouth and swallowing. They continued talking, finishing up the dinner.
“You like your dinner?” Bucky asks. Wendy only nods, spending a good amount of time focusing on the dessert. Next was Eeyore and he came in all sad looking, looking at Wendy. He bent down to see her smile a little, pointing to the fidget spinner.
“Yes, this is Ariel, Belle, and Snow White.” Wendy responds as Eeyore stands up along with Wendy hugging her. Talking about spending time with Winnie and friends and Wendy slightly pets Eeyore’s nose, who blushes. They end with pictures and a hug. Wendy sat down again, this time calm as she ate the loaded brownie. Bucky sent the pictures to Bucky, Steve, and the Thunderbolts* crew. Rocking back and forth, holding the fidget spinner.
“It’s a lot huh?” Bucky says and Wendy nods, smiling though. Bucky knew the intense shut down that was going to come but for right now he was enjoying the happy Wendy that was with her favorite characters. Winnie the Pooh came up, Wendy smiles, her cheeks hurting as she got up and hugged him. Winnie hugged her, seeing the dessert, he pretends to take a bite.
“Pooh loves your desserts. We don’t have any honey for you. We’ll bring some next time.” Bucky encourages. Pooh sees the lounge fly and points to it. Pointing to him.
“My aunt got that for me for my birthday. She knows you’re my favorite!” Wendy exclaims. Pooh blushes and hugs her more. They end with some pictures and one last hug as they leave. Wendy flaps lightly, finishing up the meal. Bucky smiles, watching the parade. They make their way around the tables, waving at the guests. Pooh goes over to them, offers his hand to Wendy, who takes it immediately and gets up, joining the parade. Along with other kids, Bucky smiles, clapping along. When it ends, the whole audience applauds and disperse. Wendy gets confused on where to go, not seeing her dad. Little nervous as the character Eeyore sees her, comforts her and guides her back to the table. Playfully wiping her tears away, they sit down and give her a little kiss before leaving. Paying for the check, they receive a card with all of the character’s signatures.
“Thank you!” Wendy says. Bucky takes it and puts it in there bag.
“You have fun?” Bucky asks as Wendy nods, flapping as she talks about the signatures that the characters signed. They leave and Bucky observes Tony and Pepper arguing with the cast members about getting in. Bucky is disheartened but keeps Wendy going.
“What do you want to do now? I was thinking we head to Tomorrowland, do Carousel of Progress and Space Mountain. Or we can take a break if you need time to cool down.” Bucky suggests. Wendy fiddles with her fingers.
“Tomorrowland!” Yelling, grabbing Bucky’s arm and yanking him towards the rides. The rest of the day resulted in Space Mountain, Carousel of Progress, resulting in them taking a 20 minute nap. The Laugh Floor and Bucky was that guy, having the spotlight on him for half of the show and receiving a sticker at the end of the show. Handing it to Wendy as they exit the auditorium. They ended with Tiana’s Bayou adventure with stimming for half the ride and getting wet as a result in her being in the first row.
“Dad, it’s Tiana!” Wendy exclaims, excitedly. Bucky smiles as he engages in her. When the ride ends, they get off and look at the store briefly. Wendy shows Bucky the Tiana doll. Bucky looks at it, seeing how happy she is and takes the doll, paying for it. Wendy jumps up and down, thanking her dad. He sighs tiredly but smiles softly at her.
“Wendy, we’re going to head back now. I’ll hold onto the bag for now. You ready?” Bucky explains.
“Yes.” Wendy explains and they walk away from the store. They headed back, drenched and exhausted. Bucky, holding Wendy’s hand as they trenched through the chaotic crowd, bumping into people from time to time. Wendy, her body heavy as she walks. Bucky lets her rest on the ride to the hotel, her body limp. When they reach the hotel, Bucky nudges her and they trod off to the hotel, their sore feet barely making it to the room where Bucky presses his key card in and walk into the cool air. Wendy instantly takes the bag, getting the Tiana doll, and goes to her room shutting the door.
Later that night, Bucky checks in on Wendy who is showered and sleeping with the Pooh doll he got her. Going over, he pressed his face lightly into her head and kissed it.
“Night honey, see you in the morning!” Bucky whispers and goes into his room, where he changes into a loose t-shirt and pajama pants, instantly crashing onto the bed.
Animal Kingdom
The alarm blared across the room as Bucky groaned getting up, turning off the Disney Alexa. He looked at the time, which was 6:30 in the morning. He trudged out of bed, rubbing his eyes, getting out of the room. His feet were freezing.
“Shoot!” Bucky exclaims, trying not to overwhelm Wendy. He got to her room, knocking softly. Going in, he sees Wendy sleeping, covering her ears. The elephant plush near her. Bucky sighs, going to her and bending down. Shaking her lightly as she startles, seeing Bucky’s soft smile.
“Morning honey. We need to get up and meet Tony at the bus stop.” Bucky whispers. Wendy slowly sits up, pressing her knees onto her chest. Bucky gets up and sits on the bed, having her scoot over.
“What’s wrong, darling? Aren’t you excited to see elephants today?” Bucky asks. Grabbing the plush, playfully making an elephant sound. Wendy gives a tight lipped smile with Bucky cupping her face.
“Doll, talk to me. What’s going on? You overstimulated, hungry, thirsty?” Bucky asks.
“Why doesn’t Uncle Tony want me to spend time with me?” Wendy asks which makes Bucky speechless for a second. Silence filled the room as Bucky looks down.
“He probably wants to spend time with his family. You know his kids are very young and excited. Pepper could use all the help she can get.” Bucky reasons but Wendy looks down.
“I heard what he said, about my condition. Do you think he accepts me? I see how people react to me…when I flap. I try to contain it, but I…I can’t. I need to get it out.” Wendy mournfully confesses. Bucky sighs, hugging her. Giving her a deep pressure hug, letting her feel the metal rub against her organic skin.
“I’m sorry you heard that. It can be hard sometimes to express yourself. Hey, I’m proud of you either way.” Bucky comforts but Wendy releases and gets ready. Bucky looks discouraged, standing up and getting ready. Bucky packs Wendy’s loungefly with water, stim toys, KIND bars, grapes, elephant plushie, and her landyard. In addition, he packed his wallet in her bag and noise-cancelling headphones. Wendy came out, wearing a Dumbo t-shirt and shorts. Bucky smiles softly.
“You ready kiddo?” Bucky asks with Wendy only nodding yes. They leave the hotel room and meet Tony and his family there. Wendy fiddles with the sparkles on her shirt, not talking as Anthony is crying along with Morgan.
“Come here baby!” Tony coos, picking her up and shushing her. Wendy looks at Bucky, looking down.
“Dad, can we take breaks today? I know we have…to do a lot but yesterday was a little overwhelming and I just…just…”Struggling to form the words, Wendy fiddles with the sparkles. Bucky smiles softly.
“We can do that. I know Magic Kingdom was a lot yesterday so if you need a break, let me know and we’ll go somewhere quiet. I have stim toys and snacks for us. However, I have another surprise for us around 1:00.” Bucky says to which Wendy perks up a little.
“I guess you won’t tell me, but…I trust you.” Wendy says as Bucky smiles. The bus comes and they get on. Similar to yesterday, the bus ride was smooth and security took little to no trouble, though this time Bucky’s arm was being checked and patted down. Wendy, on the other side nervously rocking back and forth.
“Wendy, stop doing that. You’ll knock down other people!” Pepper orders to which she stops, looking down.
“Right, right. I do this to calm myself down. It helps-“ Wendy tries to reason when Pepper snaps her fingers which makes Wendy go silent instantly.
“Don’t talk back! Just stop doing it!” Pepper snaps and walks away when Tony whispers to Pepper about making there lightning lane. Wendy is alone as Bucky wraps up the security check and goes to Wendy.
“Were you nervous I wouldn’t be able to get in?” Bucky asks gently.
“Yes.” Wendy says. Bucky comforts her, rubbing her back.
“I wasn’t worried.” Bucky reassures but Wendy doesn’t buy it. Bucky sees her frown and cups her face.
“What’s wrong, pumpkin?” Bucky asks but Wendy feels tight around arms, scratching her arm. Bucky instantly takes her hand, squeezing it.
“Don’t scratch yourself. You can tell me, what’s bothering you?” Bucky asks.
“Why do they always harass us? It’s not fair!” Wendy yells but Bucky shushes her, having her sit down on a bench.
“It’s frustrating, I get it. However, you know this is for our safety. That way people can stay safe while in the park. You know your uncle Steve, Sam, and I fight a lot of bad guys. Security is like the Avengers, except they don’t have to deal with aliens.” Bucky reasons as Wendy nods, thinking.
“Or androids and wizards.” Wendy adds to which Bucky sighs, patting her back.
“Hate how Sam taught you that, but yes. Understand security now?” Bucky asks.
“I think so. Do they have powers? Let me ask!” Wendy says, starting to stand up but Bucky stops her smiling.
“Also like the Avengers, they’re incredibly busy. Plus, they don’t have powers. Were you stimming earlier?” Bucky asks.
“Yes. I was nervous you wouldn’t get through so I rocked back and forth, trying to calm myself down.” Wendy replies. Bucky smiles, ruffling her hair.
“That’s good. Come on, let’s get in and we can get breakfast before we got on Avatar and Mount Everest.” Bucky explains as they go into the park, getting there key cards accepted and instantly hit the Starbucks where Bucky orders a black coffee while Wendy tries to convince her dad to get a pastry but he sticks hard on an egg sandwich and some water. Pouting but accepting the decision gets an egg, Gouda, and bacon sandwich. Bucky pays and they sit at a table. Wendy eats the sandwich with no trouble, letting the sandwich melt into her mouth. Bucky watches with pride, pulls out some grapes, handing them to Wendy who looks at Bucky, smiling.
“You need something healthy on your plate. Plus these are your favorite, purple grapes.” Bucky encourages. Wendy eats them with no problem. When they are done, they throw away the trash and go to Expedition Everest where the line moves quickly. Wendy gets a little nervous, her heart beating fast. Holding onto Bucky’s hand, feeling the skin on skin contact. They are about to get to there spot when another kid is hollering and screaming. Bucky knows instantly as the boy aggressively pulls away from the mom, hitting her. The mom, forcefully pulls on the boy’s arm and forces him on the ride. Bucky clutches Wendy’s shoulders, giving her pressure to not react. The mom, forces the lap bar down and the ride begins as Bucky sighs.
“How many in your party?” The cast member says.
“2” Wendy replies. The cast member points them to row 1. Wendy smiles as they go down. Wendy rocks on the tips of her toes, trying to control her excitement. Meanwhile, Bucky’s mind is elsewhere as he thinks about the kid and couldn’t imagine forcing Wendy to do something she wasn’t comfortable with. When the ride came, they climbed in, having Bucky wrap the loungefly around his legs and strap in. Wendy straps in as well and pull up on the handlebars and the ride was off. Wendy holds Bucky’s hand they go up and up. They are off, twisting and turning, reaching the halfway point where they go backwards and they reach the yeti monster. Finishing up, they get off where they hear a high pitched screech. They exit where they see the boy from before having a meltdown. He was throwing Everest toys all around the store while cast members trying to guide the family out but can’t. Bucky dodges the stuffed animals, quickly getting out of there before there could be a physical confrontation. They walk right to Avatar flight of passage, waiting for an hour. Rocking on her toes, Bucky steadies her, trying to engage her in conversation, pointing to the plants and tries to touch them, but Bucky stops her.
“Need to stim?” Bucky whispers. Wendy nods and Bucky pulls out her fidget spinner, watching it spin.
“Eeeh, eeeh ahh!” Vocalizing. Bucky watches her stim, giving pressure to her.
“Do you want a break after this ride? You know Mrs. Ringer discussed with us about time to stim.” Bucky asks, Wendy thinks, focusing on the spinner. The line doesn’t move for some time, Wendy is still stimming as Bucky keeps the lookout. Some time later, they announce the ride is shut down to which people groan and get out angrily, yelling at Cast Members. Wendy, feeling overwhelmed, tugging on her sleeve. Bucky quickly pulls her away from the chaos, walking quickly. They went around the park, trying to find a quiet place when Bucky sees a quiet place where they see an otter section. Wendy, feeling pain shoot up her wrist resists Bucky’s grip. Bucky doesn’t feel the resistance until he feels a tug, nearly taking his arm out. Bucky, feeling his blood curdle, turns to her with daggers in his eyes.
“WHAT?!” Shouting as Wendy stops resisting, Bucky sees his grip tightened and let go instantly, going over to the otters cove. Bucky, feeling guilty let Wendy stimming.
“Here we go!” Vocalizing as Bucky looks at the otter, going towards Wendy and sits next to her. Seeing her red wrist, he kissed her head.
“I’m sorry, honey. I didn’t…didn’t mean to squeeze you that tightly. I…you know how sometimes there’s a lot going on and you can’t think straight?” Bucky starts, continuing to use the fidget spinner. Nodding, her body felt tight and mouth felt dry, thinking about what to say.
“Are you autistic like me?” Wendy asks. Bucky pulls her into his embrace, kissing her head. They stayed like this for a bit. Bucky points to the otters as Wendy smiles softly, still spinning her fidget spinner. Smiling as he lets her have some stimming time. Whether that was the fidget spinner or rocking, Wendy feels calm, looking at the otters. Smiling, Bucky gives a deep pressure hug.
“Did you know that 90% of sea otters live in coastal Alaska?” Wendy points out to which Bucky nods.
“I didn’t know that. Do they reside anywhere else or just Alaska?” Bucky responding, Wendy responds that only southern otters are across California. Bucky smiles, letting her stim for five more minutes before he taps her shoulder and they leave when a rush of people start to come in. Bucky starts to hold Wendy’s hand again but Wendy shakes her head no.
“Doll, you know it’s going to be crowded and I don’t want to lose you. I promise I won’t grip you hard.” Bucky reassures. Wendy thinks about it for a second before seeing a rush of people coming, quickly holding onto Bucky’s hand. Bucky’s cautious this time about the grip.
“What do you want to do now?” Bucky asks, but Wendy couldn’t concentrate as there was a lot of noises and people talking. Bucky sees this and pulls her to corner.
“Do you want to try and meet Moana or go on the Kilimanjaro safari?” Bucky suggests, trying to give her options.
“Meet Moana.” Wendy responds and they make their way to Moana. It took a bit of time to get there, but they got there eventually. Waiting in line, Wendy stands there taking deep breaths. While some kids were brushing up against the people in front of them, Wendy stayed in her place. Moving slightly ahead when necessary. Bucky stops her from going too close. Wendy looks up, confused as the cast members ask for them to fill all the space available.
“I don’t understand. You want me not to stand too close to them but they’re telling me to move down.” Wendy asks.
“Well, you know how you like personal space and not having people too close to you? It’s kind of like that. They only say that so they can get as many people as they can in quickly. I can understand the confusion though.” Bucky explains with Wendy nodding.
“Oh, so…that’s good to know.” Wendy corrects herself. Bucky smiles. Something they’ve also been working on is not apologizing so much.
“Hey, you didn’t apologize this time. That’s good. High five!” Bucky praises, extending his hand as Wendy high fives it. They move up where they are at the front of the line.
“You ready?” Bucky asks. Wendy nods. They get in and Moana greets her, complimenting her shirt. Telling her about elephants and being her favorite animal. They smile for a picture and hug before leaving. Bucky smiles, thanking the cast members and leaves. Bucky checks the time, which happens to be 10:30.
“Wendy, I was thinking we do the Kilimanjaro safari now since it doesn’t look like a very long wait and then let’s try Avatar again.” Bucky instructs. Wendy nods and they make their way to the ride. Wendy flaps a little as Bucky looks at the Disney app while the time. They stand in line, Wendy taking deep breaths. The line moves swiftly, getting in the front seats of the truck just as quickly as they got in the line. They were off, the tour guide driving. Seeing antelopes, cheetahs, jaguars, and crocodiles. Wendy smiles as Bucky pulls out his phone, revealing the time to be 10:57. The driver continues with the tour when they stop at elephants.
“Ahhhh!” Squealing excitedly, bouncing lightly in her seat. Bucky, apologizes lightly before shushing her and pulling her into a hug across the body, keeping her calm when it comes to her vocal stims. Apologizing lightly to others to which they are okay, if anything they are happy for Wendy. Wendy keeps the vocal stims down, but still rocks lightly. Bucky pulls out her elephant plushie, handing it to Wendy who plays with it. Wendy continues to look at the elephants, Bucky releases and takes a picture of her with the elephants. Smiling, the tour continues with the guide informing the passengers about the endangerment of the elephants and poachers using there tusks for items which Wendy tenses. Bucky sees the tears forming but slowly comforts her. Wendy nods as the tour concludes with the sight of hippos. Wendy gives Bucky the stuffed elephant and Bucky puts it away. The cast member thanks them for their time, they get off and walk to Avatar. The ride was atleast a forty minute wait which made Bucky a little nervous but stayed calm for Wendy’s sake. Wendy, again tries to touch the fake plants but it stopped by Bucky.
“Remember, we can’t touch these because it’s fragile and can break. We can still look at it though.” Bucky reminds Wendy who wants to feel the different textures, however is trying not to disobey her dad. Pulling out his arm, Bucky extends it. Letting the cool metal attract Wendy who is fixated on his arm. Shifting one of the plates to another part. The line moves slower but efficiently as they get on. Wendy puts her bag down and gets on next to her dad, putting on the glasses. The ride lasts for four minutes, letting Wendy petting the pretend banshee from time to time. When the ride ends, Wendy pets the machine one last time, collecting there stuff, and leave. Bucky smiles at Wendy, flapping lightly.
“You liked that, huh?” Bucky asks.
“Yes, my banshee was nice! I didn’t like the creature chasing us though.” Wendy says, having Bucky lead the way. Bucky looks at the time, which appears to be 12:20. Smiling, looking at Wendy who keeps talking about the banshee.
“Honey, you know how this morning I mentioned a surprise. Well, its close to that time, so lets go!” Bucky explains, holding Wendy’s hand. They walk through near the Kilimanjaro Safari, going to a desk where a cast member saw him and turned their attention.
“Hi, Barnes for the African elephants tour.” Bucky instructs with the cast member checking the list and confirms it.
“Yep, I see you here! Welcome Mr. Barnes.” The cast member greets as she guides them to a seat. They sit down, looking around at the park. Wendy is waiting, rocking back and forth who is curious to know what is going on.
“Ahh, ahh! Brhhhh!” Vocalizing as Bucky lightly rubs her back. Fifteen more minutes pass and a cast member comes up to them.
“Mr. Barnes?” Asking, Bucky stands up, urging Wendy to stand up, she does.
“Welcome to Caring for Giants. A closer look at our beautiful African elephants. My name is Leila and I will be your tour guide It looks like you will be having a private tour so come with me and we’ll get started.” She explains, beginning the walk. Wendy, still in shock follows Bucky. They walk around, Leila giving them interesting facts about elephants. Wendy listens intently, taking mental notes in her head. Bucky sees Wendy focus, smiling with her teeth being shown.
“So often we refer to the sound of an elephant is the brhhh sound. However, it’s actually a very rare for an elephant to make that sound. It will only be used in calls of distress.” Leila explains which Bucky nods and Wendy smiles, focusing on the elephants. Leila continues talking about there diet to which Wendy speaks up.
“They can eat up to a 1,000 pounds of food a day. Their diet consists mostly of grass hay, leaves, twigs, branches, and barks. As well as shrubs, fruits, and roots.” Wendy explains. Leila laughs lightly as Bucky hugs her lightly, looking up at Leila.
“I’m sorry, my daughter loves elephants. This was my surprise for her. Wendy, I know you’re excited but let Leila talk, okay?” Bucky reminds as Wendy nods, keeping silent.
“It’s okay, I appreciate someone who loves these animals.” Leila comforts and continues with sharing facts and what Disneyworld does to conserve. Leila lets come to the railing to see the elephants up close. Bucky puts some pressure on her shoulders to give her some stimulation.
“I wish I could be closer.” Wendy says, seeing a baby elephant being pushed away from an adult elephant.
“That mother is trying to wean her child off of her. So that pushing isn’t personal, she is mostly doing it for her kids sake.” Wendy continues with Leila nodding, giving more information. They conclude with thanking the for there time and Leila gives Wendy an elephant sticker. Feeling the sticker and begins walking away.
“Wendy, can you say thank you for the sticker?” Bucky instructs.
“Thank you!” Wendy says, not looking at Leila. Bucky smiles, guiding Wendy out of the area.
“Was that fun?” Bucky says as Wendy nods, stimming.
“Brrrh! Brrh!” Making elephant noises, flapping wildly. Bucky shows a tight lipped small smile. Tony, Pepper, and there children come out of the blue. Wendy smiles, flapping uncontrollably.
“Uncle Tony, dad and I saw elephants! Of course we didn’t pet them but…ha, ha!” Wendy starts telling, but Tony isn’t listening, tuning her out. Only looking at Bucky.
“Nice, nice. Anyway, we have fast passes for the It’s Tough to be a Bug show, so we’re all doing that.” Tony orders. Bucky hesitates, looking at Wendy who is stimming a lot.
“Tony, that’s sweet but I think we need a break, so we’re going to grab some food.” Bucky excuses but Pepper shakes her head.
“No, we insist. We’ve been s’cluding you a lot.” Pepper excuses, slurring her words. Wendy, however, shakes her head.
“I need a break.” Wendy vocalizes but Tony rolls his eyes. Alcohol steaming from his breath. Bucky, sensing the alcohol backs Wendy away, fiddling with her sleeve.
“I really need a break, Uncle Tony. Please, let me have a break.” Wendy pleads.
“Oh please, you can have breaks when we’re at the resort. For now, stop being so selfish and let’s go!” Tony barks, leaving with his family in an obnoxious way. Wendy sighs as Bucky gives her a small smile. Wendy wipes oncoming tears.
“Doll, we don’t have to go in. We can have a break.” Bucky comforts but Pepper comes back, demanding they go in. She, as well drunk.
“Let’s go!” Hollering, forcing Bucky by grabbing his hand and dragging him, hence dragging Wendy. Bucky lets it happen as he doesn’t want to create a scene. Wendy is in an overstimulated state. They all scan their magic bands and go in. Wendy hides behind Bucky, letting her weight carry onto his. Bucky, angry tensing his body. Frozen as the children are going wild. Screaming, running around, playing with their siblings, and they bumped into other guests. Morgan fought with other children and Tony wasn’t doing a lot about it. Frustrated, he took hard deep breaths in order to prevent his temper getting the best of him. After ten minutes, they get in with everyone piling in. Wendy, still holding onto Bucky go in. They go all the way down to sit on a plastic wooden bench.
“Want to look-“ Bucky interacts when an older woman up front turns around to Morgan, visibly annoyed.
“Could you stop kicking me?” the woman says, Morgan saying nothing but Pepper’s eyes go wide, visibly angry. Her body heating up with anger. Bucky seeing this, tries to control Pepper.
“Pepper-“ Bucky begins.
“You have a fucking issue, come to me! Don’t attack my daughter, she’s a little girl! You’re being rude!” Pepper snaps as Bucky sighs, putting his hands in his face, exhausted and hot from the heat radiating off his back. Wendy’s heart is beating fast and the woman huffs, turning around. The show begins as the first half isn’t so bad, however when the gasses come. Wendy itches her nose, scratching her leg. Similar to yesterday, Bucky gives her a deep pressure hug. However, Hopper comes on with the smoke and people screaming is what sent her over the edge.
“AHHHHHHH! AHHHHHH!” Screaming and Bucky instantly got up and led her out of the building, carrying her to a place where it was peaceful and quiet. He finally settled on the tree of life. He sets her down, letting her rock. Crying hard, tears stream from her face. He puts his hand on her head so she doesn’t hit the rocks.
“We’re safe, this is a peaceful place.” Bucky comforts, rubbing her back to which her rocking becomes minimal movements now. Still clutching her face, Bucky shifts his body so she’s facing him. He lifts her into his arms and rocks her.
“Sssh, sssh.” Comforting her as Wendy, shutting down releases from her dad’s grip, her face puffy. Bucky wipes her tears.
“I’m sorry. I tried to express myself, why didn’t they listen?” Wendy cries as Bucky comforts, wiping her tears. Her body feels tight, tugging on her shirt.
“I know and I’m proud of you for that, but you shouldn’t have had to do that.” Bucky praises and apologizes, his body is hot with anger. Sweat pouring down his face, allowing Wendy’s weight to melt into his lap. Kissing her head as he lets the wind and water calm her down. He feels Wendy taking deep breaths, her chest rising and falling with each breath. When Wendy feels calm enough to talk, she signs back up to Bucky, who gets the gist and scoots back.
“I…I want to go home. I want to go home, unless there is another surprise you have for us.” Wendy vocalizes, rocking back and forth. Cast member who is playing Pocahontas and attendant sees them and bends down.
“Wingapo friend. This is my favorite spot to come to. Often I see Meeko running around here, you’ve seen him today?” Pocahontas engages. Bucky engages Wendy who smiles softly but knows she is still in shut down mode so he shifted next to her.
“Not yet. We’ve been looking though.” Bucky replies. Wendy looks at Pocohontas’ bag and feels the texture of her bag. Bucky interferes but before he can say anything, she goes along with it.
“I put a lot of trinkets that John gives me. Including these petals.” Pocahontas picks up red petals from the ground and hands them to Wendy. Wendy takes them and feels them, against her skin.
“Feels nice, doesn’t it?” Bucky says, trying to engage Wendy lightly. Wendy nods.
“I collect trinkets like Ariel and you. Also my Uncle Sam who is also Captain America gives me things from time to time.” Wendy finally speaks, standing up and going to the other side, looking out at the water. They follow her to the railing, looking at the water.
“I always find the lake peaceful. Flit often flies down-“ Pocahontas offers, pointing towards the lake.
“You’ve jumped off a cliff before!” Wendy exclaims as Pocahontas laughs and nodding. They continue to talk before ending with some pictures and hugs. Bucky thanks the cast members and takes Wendy’s hand, leaving.
“That was cool that you got Pocahontas to yourself.” Bucky comforts as Wendy nods, giving a tight lipped smile. Bucky could see her exhaustion.
“Do you want to go back to the resort or do another ride?” Bucky asks. Wendy, liking the idea of going back to the resort but frowns.
“You did a good job. We have another couple days and we can come back, try again.” Bucky reassures.
“Go back to the resort. I’m tired.” Wendy says as Bucky nods and takes her hand, going to the bus stop. They wait for a while before the bus for Saratoga Springs Resort comes and they gets on. Wendy’s body, similar to yesterday is weak and limp. Bucky lets her rest the whole ride home, his mind exhausted as well. When they there stop, Bucky stands up, his whole body hurting as he wakes up Wendy and they trudge back up to the hotel room. Going in, Wendy immediately takes her loungefly and goes to her room, closing the door. Bucky sighs, walking and collapsing on the couch. The day falls away and night comes along, Bucky gets dinner, entering the apartment with exhaustion, holding a bag that is filled with dinner. Two sandwiches, one cold and one hot, along with some waters and a chocolate chunk cookie. Bucky sighs, knocking on Wendy’s door, opening it. Sees Wendy sleeping, having a Mickey Mouse cartoon on. Walking towards her, he bends down shaking her lightly to which she wakes up a little startled.
“I have some dinner. I got you a grilled cheese sandwich, one of your safe meals.” Bucky informs as Wendy sits up slowly getting up and heading to the table. Wendy looked at the grilled cheese sandwich and struggled to eat it, taking intricate slow bites. The texture hitting her hard but was able to eat most of the sandwich. Wendy shakes her head.
“No more.” Wendy says.
“You did good! Good job, kiddo!” Bucky praises. Right as Wendy stands up, a booming knock is at the door. Bucky, his head alert. Sending Wendy to her room, he answers the door cautiously to see Tony, slurring his words. His whole body loosely shifting from left to right. Bucky is stone cold.
“Bucky, baby. S’at’s up?!!!” Slurring his words but Bucky isn’t impressed.
“Why are you here? You going to tell me what my daughter wants and doesn’t want?” Bucky, fuming on the inside. Tony, not caring laughs.
“Oh puh-lease. I have been a delight, not my fault about the premier…cast.” Slurring his speech as Bucky shakes his head.
“I can’t talk to you like this. You have two kids and you guys are acting like you don’t have responsibilities.” Bucky warns.
“It’s not a crime to have s’fun! S’fun! We’s having fun! Wendy, we’s-“ Tony shouts when Bucky pushes him out of the edge of the room. His body flying to the floor.
“Stay away from my daughter! Don’t you dare talk to her until you’re goddamn sober!” Bucky yelling.
“I’ll talk to whoever I fucking want, asshole! AlleyWood Studios tomorrow! ” Tony shouts back. Bucky is fuming but lets him go as Tony stumbles back to his room. Bucky turns to walk away, slamming the door which he hears whimpers coming from Wendy’s room. Sighing as Bucky goes to her room, entering and going to her. Cuddling her into his arms.
“Sssh, sssh. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to scare you, sweetheart. Remember all the fun we had today. From the rides and meeting characters. We got to see elephants today and those are your favorite.” Bucky soothes, kissing her head. They end the night with watching Dumbo. After the movie, Wendy takes a shower and instantly falls asleep. Bucky, changing to a nighttime Disney channel kisses her head and goes to bed himself, drained from the day as well.
Shut Down Day
Bucky was sleeping, his mind elsewhere when a loud knock echos through the room.
“Let’s go! We’re going to be late!” Pepper shouts. Bucky groaning as he gets up, letting the metal hand gnaw at him for a little bit. He hears the kicking of little feet. He gets to the door, opening it up to see Pepper, her eyes glossy as Morgan is running up and down the hallway.
“What are you doing? We’re going to miss the bus!” Pepper yells.
“Pepper, we really need some rest right now. You guys can go and we’ll come later.” Bucky says.
You’ll miss a lot today!” Morgan shouts but Bucky bends down, trying to keep her quiet.
“We’ll be fine but Wendy is sleeping right now so we need to be quiet.” Bucky cautions.
“WENDY! WAKE UP!” Morgan shouts. Bucky is visibly annoyed, looking at Pepper.
“Morgan, no! Don’t shout like that, you know Wendy has sensitive ears.” Bucky scolds but Morgan doesn’t care, running back and forth. Pepper, unlike yesterday is rolling her eyes. Annoyed, tensing her body and scoffs before walking away. Bucky wants to slam the door but stops himself, closing the door softly before making his way back to his bed for a little more sleep. This vacation was slowly turning into a nightmare.
After about another hour of sleep, Bucky feels more refreshed as he gets up, and going to Wendy’s room. Knocking lightly, he goes in, the room slightly messy with her clothes in a pile. He walks, sitting on the bed.
“Doll, time to wake up. You ready for Hollywood Studios?” Bucky whispers, trying to keep his voice steady. Wendy wakes up, but rather than saying good morning she presses her knees to her chest, her eyes glossy and face puffy from the tears. Sympathetic, he gives her a deep pressure hug.
“You know I hear they have the live action Ariel there. She’s your favorite princess, right?” Bucky softly speaks. Wendy is still in shut down mode, not talking at all. Figuring out what is happening, Bucky feels slightly relieved.
“Want to take deep breaths?” Bucky asks, shifting his weight onto Wendy. Wendy buries her head into her dad’s chest, crying. Bucky rubs her back.
“It’s okay. It’s okay. It’s a lot isn’t it?” Bucky reflects. He feels Wendy’s head bouncing up and down. Bucky rocks her, feeling her body shift.
“You’ve been having fun though, right?” Bucky asks, nervous.
“Yes! I’m not mad about that! I…it’s a lot and yesterday’s show felt overwhelming! I try to say no, but they never listened!” Shouting, releasing her grip from her dad, she bangs her head with her fist. Bucky instantly gets up and runs to her bag to get her Tiana doll, going back to her, he takes her arms and has her hold the doll. The banging of the head transitions to clawing her face, hitting the doll out of her dad’s hands. Bucky instantly uses his hands and wraps her into his body, creating a warm tight hug.
“That’s it. We’re okay, we’re okay. Sssh, sssh. Deep breaths, deep breaths.” Soothing, brushing her stringy hair against his organic arm. Wendy, calming down lets the hug happen instead of resisting the touch. They stay like this for a few more minutes, the silence of the room filling the air. Stoic, Bucky kisses her head, releases. Turning back, he sees Wendy better, gets up and ready to go. They get going, getting to the bus which is right there and they get on. Wendy is still silent, her body feeling a little tight, but stable breathing as they get off and go through security and entrance without a glitch. Walking around, the sun beats down on them.
“Got through the security without a glitch.” Bucky says, but Wendy is still in shut down mode. Seeing this, he bends down. Pulling to the side, he checks the times and sees Meeting Olaf is only 15 minutes and Muppet Vision is only 10 minutes.
“I think you need a big hug, so I think we should go see Olaf and go to Muppet Vision after. You agree with that plan?” Bucky says with Wendy nodding. Heading over there, Wendy is still silent and standing in line that moves really fast. Wendy looks at Bucky, signing hug. Bucky smiles and hugs Wendy, sending chills down her body.
“You don’t have to talk, but smile a little if you can.” Bucky suggests as they move up. The party in front of them wraps up and leaves. Wendy shyly waves as Olaf makes there way towards her, holding out his stick hand towards her. Wendy takes it, walking over to the area. Wendy smiles lightly with Olaf pointing to her Ariel shirt, making a swimming gesture. Wendy smiles softly, mentioning Ariel softly. Olaf hugs Wendy and they take pictures. Bucky joins in the pictures, giving Olaf a hug before leaving. Bucky could tell the shut down was still there, Bucky gives her a sympathetic look as he bends down, her eyes squinting at Bucky, mind buzzed.
“Doll, we don’t have to stay here. You want to go back.” Bucky comforts, Wendy is still in a non responsive state. Her body is tight, her blonde hair feeling stringy compared to other days and nothing gave her enough stimulation. Bucky saw her struggle and bent down.
“We’ll be back, but I think we need a chill day today. I can get us some games and we can play that and watch Disney movies. What do you say?” Bucky comforts.
“Upset. Aunt Pepper and Uncle Tony upset, selfish.” Wendy incoherently repeats. Bucky, resting a firm hand on her shoulders, knowing he wasn’t in the mood to do more rides himself, let alone Wendy.
“You know I’m a little tired too. Let’s go home.” Bucky confirms.
“Mad, mad!” Incoherently speaking. Bucky felt his heart hurt for Wendy who was clearly struggling to speak.
“I’m not mad, I promise. Heard Uncle Tony got two day tickets for this park so we can go another day.” Comforting as Wendy nods and they get out of the park and back on the bus. Wendy, tugs on her hair. Bucky can’t do anything to help right now and it killed him. When they reached there stop, Bucky nudges her and they get off, walking side by side. They get in the room where Wendy instantly goes to her room, closing the door. Bucky sighs as his phone rings. Dreading who its from looks and is slightly relieved picking it up.
“Sam?” Bucky says.
“Hey man! How’s your trip going?” Sam asks with Bucky sighing, exhausted, his whole body collapsing on the couch. He explained to Sam how this trip was becoming a nightmare. Sam sighs, groaning. Worried.
“Is Wendy not being-“ Sam cautiously asked when Bucky slams his hand on the table, angry.
“It’s not Wendy! It’s fucking Stark! He’s been acting like a drunk idiot. Especially yesterday when he forced me and Wendy to see It’s Tough to Be a Bug show!” Yelling.
“Aw damn man. I warned him not to do that show with you and Wendy. How’s Wendy?” Asking.
“Well, she’s been having bad shutdowns and today is just…horrible. It’s not her fault, a lot’s changed in her routine and the lack of sleep is definitely affecting her. We’re back at the hotel, just going to take the day off. We’ll try again another day. ” Bucky explains, kicking off his shoes. Talking about what to do and how to handle the shutdowns. Bucky nods, is somewhat out of it. They end the conversation with Sam confirming that him, Steve, Yelena, and Natasha would be down soon.
“Alright. I’ll see you soon, thanks Sam.” Bucky replies.
“Let me know if you need anything.” Sam responds.
“I will, see you soon!” Bucky says and hangs up before Sam has a chance to speak. His body melting into the couch and falling asleep instantly. Throughout the day, Bucky goes out to get some lunch and dinner for them. Landing on buying some bread, peanut butter, strawberry jelly, KIND bars, water, grapes, lunch meat such as turkey and ham, and ice cream. He also shops around the gift shop where he sees a Disney princess activity pad along with a coloring book, a live Action and animated dolls, a memory game: Disney princess edition, and Disney monopoly game. When he gets back, he immediately puts the ice cream in the freezer. His arm sore from the bags, takes off his metal arm and lays it on the table. Taking the bag full of games and dolls, he picks up the activity pad and heads to Wendy’s room. Knocking on the door, opening it to see Wendy curling up in a ball. Going over to her, he felt her body tense, the hairs in the back of her head stick up. Sitting on her bed, he ruffled her hair a little with his organic hand before she signed away, chewing on the nail of her thumb. Scooting away he looks out the window.
“I got some games and stickers for you.” Bucky begins when thunder booms across the sky. Wendy covers her ears, tightening her body. Her legs going up to her chest, Bucky shifts his body so he’s kneeling towards her. His concerned expression tensing her, remembering to stay calm in these moments. Remembering, he grabs her loungefly, he digs through the bag to find her noise-cancelling headphones. Pulling out the purple headphones, he races back to her, tapping her lightly.
“Honey, can I put your headphones on you?” Asking softly. Wendy, nearly unresponsive couldn’t speak.
“Mmmmgh. Mmmmmgh!” Vocalizing her stimming. Bucky knew her this shutdown was bad as she couldn’t form words. His heart hurt for her but knew he could have her communicate, holds out his hand.
“Sweetie, I’m going to put your headphones on, so I’m going to sit you up.” Bucky instructs, carefully using his hand to help her up to which he sees her frozen, her hands glued to her ears. Wendy, her body heating up with embarrassment and shame puts her hands down while Bucky carefully put the headphones on her ears. Adjusting them so the base wasn’t hurting her jaw.
“Shame, shame.” Wendy repeats. Bucky shifts next to her so his body is next to hers, giving her pressure.
“There’s nothing to be ashamed of doll.” Bucky comforts, letting Wendy cry on his chest. Giving her pressure, he gives her kisses, supporting her.
“It’s okay, doll. We’re safe, it’s just us.” Bucky soothes as he feels Wendy sobs fall down his shirt. Rocking her back and forth, she looks for the metal arm but she feels the missing part of his arm. Continuing to look for the arm, she pushes against the skin where he winces.
“Honey, I don’t have my metal arm right now. Can you stop pushing on my arm?” Bucky says and Wendy stops instantly, rocking in replacement of playing with her dad’s arm. Bucky, combs her head with his hand.
“How you feeling?” Asking as Wendy takes a minute to answer.
“Better, but I don’t want to go back to the park. Want to stay in room.” Wendy says, somewhat incoherently. Giving a tight lipped smile, nodding.
“That’s okay. Kind of tired too. I got some games that we can play, think your up for that?” Bucky asks. Nodding, getting up and going to the main room. Wendy flapping as she sees the games that her dad bought.
“He, he, he!” Stimming as she feels the games on her hand.
“I was going to make some lunch. Do you want a peanut butter and jelly sandwich or do you want a turkey sandwich? No cheese as I know you don’t like turkey and cheese together.” Bucky asks, giving her options. Wendy, feeling the activity pad flaps happily. Bucky looks at her, pulling her attention away from the games.
“Wendy, what kind of sandwich do you want? Turkey or PB&J?” Bucky asks again.
“PB&J. Want PB&J please!” Wendy exclaims. Bucky smiles.
“Alright, good job on using manners. Can you play with your activity pad while I get lunch and then we can play a game?” Bucky instructs, Wendy sits down and opens the book, flapping as she sees the Ariel stickers. Continuing to look through, she lands on a coloring page of Tiana. Takes out her crayons and begins coloring, stimming as Bucky continues to make the sandwich, making sure the peanut butter and jam were evenly coated.
“Ah, ahh!” Yelling, Bucky grabbing a plate and pulls out the grapes. Placing them on her plate, he looks back to see Wendy continue to vocalize her stims. Laughing out loud, Wendy picks up the green when Bucky takes the plate, setting it down beside her.
“Alright, little lady. Lunch is ready.” Bucky tells Wendy, flapping wildly as she picks up her sandwich and begins eating, Bucky smiles at Wendy, seeing her so happy eating her lunch. Wendy is about done with her sandwich and about to put it in the sink when Bucky stops her, accounting for the lack of grapes eaten.
“Eat a couple more grapes and then we can play a game.” Bucky compromises. Wendy pouts but Bucky looks at her, his eyes mocking her pout. Wendy does take two more grapes, shoving them in her mouth before excusing herself, but Bucky stopping her again with Wendy agitated.
“You said a couple. Couple means two.” Wendy whines.
“You’re right, I did but I meant eat more of your grapes. You think you can eat more of the grapes? Just a few more for me, please?” Bucky persuades, trying to reason with Wendy was not easy. Eating was something she struggled with, especially after a bad shutdown, so the fact that she wasn’t resisting much was a miracle. Also, since Wendy took some phrases literally, Bucky was trying harder to understand where she was coming from and tries to be as specific as possible. Wendy ate all of the grapes except one that was squished as the juices didn’t feel right in her mouth compared to the other ones.
“Done!” Wendy exclaims, standing up and allowing her dish to be in the sink. Bucky laughs softly, going to clean her dish. Wendy, bouncing and stimming goes back to her seat, continuing to color. Her headphones still on as the thunder and rain came pouring down, Bucky looks out seeing the rain crashing down, looking back at Wendy and going to her.
“Glad we’re not at Hollywood Studios, huh? Rain’s coming down hard.” Bucky says as Wendy nods, continuing to color Tiana. Bucky thinks about the notes Mrs. Ringer has given him and taps Wendy lightly on the hand, not noticing his tap as she is deep into her coloring, stimming a little by flapping her hands back and forth. Bucky tries again, with bigger more pressurized taps. Wendy looks up at Bucky who is smiling.
“Wendy, you know how Mrs. Ringer talked to us about working on sensory sensations when it comes to clothing and food. I was thinking that we could go out tomorrow to Disney Springs and try that experience. We’ll start in calm, quiet shops and make our way to food. What do you think?” Bucky leads with Wendy staying quiet, rubbing the crayon up to her face. Rocking back and forth, she felt a little uneasy about that idea. Her eyes tensed and Wendy kept rubbing her nose.
“No, I like my clothes.” Wendy declares.
“I know and we wouldn’t buy anything, maybe other than a late lunch, early dinner. We would be feeling textures, you think we can do that? I’ll be there and if it gets too intense, we’ll leave. Think we can try that?” Bucky comforts, looking at Wendy. Her skin tensing and releasing. Deep breaths coming in and out of her nose. Letting her process, he rubs her arm.
“Doing your breathing, good.” Bucky praises softly.
“I’ll try but we have to get Ghirardelli ice cream and we have to play Disney monopoly now.” Wendy says, setting aside her drawing, picking the game and opening it. Bucky smiles and lets it happen.
“We playing by the rules or we going by your rules?” Bucky asks, using some techniques that Mrs. Ringer has taught him.
“Mostly the rules of the game, but jail doesn’t exist so anytime you land on that, you skip a turn. Both of us.” Wendy replies.
“Alright, let’s do it!” Bucky says as they get the pieces out and money counted. Wendy, smiling as she picks the dumbo piece while Bucky picks Mowgli. They roll with Bucky getting the first turn. They play for a while, taking turns and putting the rules of Jail into effect, which Wendy does well to follow through. It lasts like this for an hour before Bucky’s pocket rings. Picking it up, he sees Joaquin’s face on the caller ID. Looking back, he faces Wendy.
“I have to take this call, you think you can put the game away for me and play on your own?” Bucky requests, turning back to answer the call. Wendy clears the table, putting the money, pieces, and board away in the box. Concealing the box, she goes back to coloring her Tiana. Bucky looks back and gives her a silent thumbs up before continuing the conversation with Joaquin. The rest of the afternoon and evening is filled with Wendy coloring, rounds of Disney memory, and ending the night with Bucky and Wendy curling up on the couch, eating turkey sandwiches, and watching The Little Mermaid animated movie.🧜‍♀️ Wendy fell asleep on Bucky’s lap where he caressed her head. Today was a good day, however, tomorrow would be a whole other story.
Disney Springs
- [ ] Steve is there and Natasha is introduced as Wendy’s mom and Bucky’s ex-wife.
- [ ] Yelena, Rhodey, and Happy are involved in this chapter
Bucky and Wendy make their way around the shops. Letting Wendy take the lead, she leads them to the Tren-D store. Inside is a medium size store, Wendy smiles a little, walking around. Bucky starts to lead her towards a section where they had Cinderella clothing.
“Want to feel this? It looks soft.” Bucky offers. Wendy hesitates, sticking out her hand and putting it back into her pocket. Bucky wanted to intervene, but he knew he had to let Wendy go at her own pace. He could only offer support and guidance, intervene when really necessary. Wendy, putting her hand on the shirt, feels it and lets the soft texture encapsulate her hand. Continuing to feel the texture, she moves to the gems. Wendy backs away, holding onto Bucky’s hand. Moving her to another section of the store where Wendy skims her hand across some shirts that were rough on her hands.
“No, not right.” Wendy says.
“Okay. I saw a Tinkerbell sweater that was very fuzzy.” Bucky suggests and make there way towards the sweater. Wendy feels the sweater and tries to put it near her face but Bucky stops her.
“Remember just use hands.” Reminding, as Wendy continues to feel the sweater, checking the tag which felt hard on her hands. Taking her hand back, rubbing her hands together.
“Let’s go to another store. You ready?” Bucky asks. Wendy nods and they make there way to another store. Walking around before landing on World of Disney which was filled with people. Wendy turns to leave and Bucky follows her, sitting on a bench.
“Minute. Need a minute!” Coherently speaking as Bucky sits next to her, giving her a pressure hug. Wendy resists.
“No touch.” Wendy, slowly incoherently speaks. Bucky, letting go, looks at her as she rocks slightly. Despite the whispers and looks, Bucky ‘s eyes were still glued to Wendy. Her short blond hair with red streaks moving back and forth from her face. Seeing her squint, he moves in front of her to block the sun.
“You want to try again? We can go to a store that’s less crowded.” Bucky suggests.
“Walk around.” Responding. Wendy stands up with Bucky wincing as he was kneeling, moving away from the store. They make their way to Zara, Anthropologie, and Tommy Bahama. Wendy trying out the different textures of the shirt. Each time was getting harder than the last as people were coming in hot. It didn’t help that some of the clothes were laid out on the floor. The music and smells were itching Wendy’s nose and her mind was buzzing.
“I want to leave now.” Whispering.
“Can we try one more shirt? I know this is hard, but this will help me know what type of textures you like.” Bucky cautions, checking out the textures of certain shirts before landing on a light blue sweater that could be a good fit for her to feel.
“Try this.” Bucky instructs with Wendy feeling it however the sweater felt starchy and instantly took her hand away. Her heart beating, mind racing, and sweat pouring down her face. The once nicely tight purple shirt now transitioning into a sweat mess that felt sticky to her. Rubbing her head and seeing Wendy struggle, takes her out of the store and guiding her to a quiet place.
“You did good. Did you like any of the shirts you felt?” Bucky asks.
“I liked the first store. The Cinderella shirt and Tinkerbell sweater were the best, but I don’t think I can feel anymore textures.” Wendy spoke up, rubbing her arm.
“Hot, too hot.” Wendy is speaking incoherently. Bucky, fearing a meltdown quickly guides her away from the sun and into Disney Ever After store, which was a small store but was crowded. Wendy backs away, nearly tripping over her own feet. Bucky catches her, moving her to the side a little annoyed at her indecisiveness.
“Don’t shut down! Don’t shut down! What do you want to do?!” Yelling, feeling her resist his touch. He felt a strong touch on his arm, turning around he saw Steve looking at him, concerned.
“Hey buddy.” Steve softly says with Bucky, his muscles relaxing seeing him. Steve looks at Wendy, who is having an intense shut down. Steve moves over to her, bending down.
“Hey honey. I heard you’ve been doing really well on the this trip but struggling as well.” Steve starts with no response. Wendy shakes her head.
“Do you want some ice cream? I saw a Ghirardelli next to World of Disney.” Steve asks, softly letting his hand ruffle her hair. Wendy couldn’t speak, feeling his face and running her hands down his arms. Steve, sensing a shutdown coming, frowned a little.
“Come on pumpkin. Let’s go get some ice cream and then we can go get some toys if you’re comfortable.” Steve instructs. Bucky nods as Wendy is still frozen, writing on Steve’s hand. Feeling the little sensations as she backs away.
“No one is mad. It’s a lot and your dad was telling me that you were feeling different textures. That can take a lot out of you. Let’s go grab ice cream.” Steve comforts, holding out his hand. Wendy takes it, along with her dad’s hand and they make there way to Ghirardelli. They wait in line as Wendy makes little circles in Steve’s hand.
“What do you want doll?” Steve asks as they move up in the line. Wendy stops with the little circles, pointing to two options: Chocolate Lover’s Hot Fudge Sundae and Mint Bliss Hot Fudge Sundae.
“Can’t have both. Never be able to put you to bed, what do you want?” Bucky says softly, ruffling her hair. Still in her non communicative state, Wendy points the Chocolate Lover’s Hot Fudge Sundae. Bucky nods and they are about to go to the cashier. Beepers are going off, people argue with their spouses, and the music is rapidly playing. Wendy, tight lipped is making buzzing noises. Her lips are vibrating.
“It’s alright darling, we’re okay. We’re about to be there, remember deep breaths.” Steve soothes but it doesn’t help when a little boy behind them gets agitated.
“Hurry it up! I want ice cream!” The boy yells, kicking Steve in the shins. Wendy’s overstimulation state is definitely hitting an all time high. Steve moves up, closer to Wendy so he can give her some pressure. They finally get to the register, ordering their ice cream, and go to the side. The little boy who orders is now having a temper tantrum as the mom is containing her son. Everyone is looking at them, except for Wendy who covers her ears. Steve looks at Bucky, who is concerned.
“I’ll take her outside, it’ll be quiet.” Steve says, guiding Wendy out of the building and outside, sitting on a rock bench.
“It was getting pretty loud in there. You excited for your ice cream? Chocolate is one of my favorites.” Steve comforts, the sun beating down her back, which she tries to claw off. Steve stops her, distracting here. with sights such as the squirting Stitch and the volcano at Rainforest Cafe. They walk to the World of Disney where Steve slowly waits for the Stitch to spurt out water, which it does and soak Wendy to which she smiles.
“He, he!” Wendy stims, feeling the water on her skin. It’s cool and crisp as Stitch squirts water again, getting Wendy wet. Laughing hard, Steve smiles and gets a text from Bucky that the ice cream would be a while. Steve nods and looks at Wendy, who is now spinning in circles. Smiling slightly as he goes to her, picking her up and spinning her one time before putting her down and cupping her face.
“There’s that smile I’ve been wanting to see. You want to go into this store? There might be some stuffies in there?” Steve offers which makes Wendy nod a little, however her skin was tensing. Chills ran up her body as they got into the busy store.
“Let’s start over here as they have plushies.” Steve instructs, making there way. Strolling with Wendy feeling each plushie that resulted in having Stitch, Angel, Pascal, and Olaf. Wendy grabs Steve’s hand and guides him over to the doll section, feeling the different type of princess dolls. Stimming lightly at the Live Action Ariel doll and Rapunzel. Steve sees that and grabs them off the rack, carrying them. They walk around, seeing Wendy loosen up and when she sees a Spider-Man weighted plushie, Wendy jumps up and down, picking up the weighted plushie and hugging it. Steve, despite his own personal feelings about Spider-Man, knew Wendy loved him and the fact that it was weighted didn’t help his cause.
“I’ll pay!” Wendy declares, pulling out her money which consisted of $50. Steve smiles as they make there way to the checkout line. Wendy is rocking back and forth as they move through the line swiftly and Wendy is able to pay for her weighted Spiderman without a problem while Steve pays for the other dolls. They exit the store as Bucky is holding the ice cream, meeting them at the store’s exit. Steve smiles and grabs his ice cream. They go somewhere peaceful and eat, Wendy smiling.
“You paid for that Spiderman plushie by yourself?” Bucky asks, using a high pitched voice, smiling at her. Wendy nods, flapping with some ice cream spilling on her.
“Careful, honey.” Bucky scolds lightly as Wendy is more cautious, eating her ice cream. The sun is beating down, though this time Wendy is doing great, if anything is thriving as they walk down each stores and Wendy is smiling. Though that could be from the sugar. They shop for Bucky at Tommy Bahama. Bucky is rolling his eyes as they see the type of clothes. Wendy, bored sits in a chair, squeezing her weighted plush. A young woman who is shopping, sees her and bends down. Wendy, who is ready for a verbal lashing, tugs tightly. She looked no younger than in her thirties with short red hair looks at her.
“Hi. Are you here by yourself?” Asking with Wendy backing away. Seeing some resemblance of herself, the light red streaks hair and similar blue eyes.
“Oh my god. Your…” She loses her wording and tries to touch her when Wendy shakes her head violently
“No, strangers are bad. Daddy!” Wendy gets up, quickly making her way to Bucky, who hides behind him. Bucky sees her and for the first time, is a ghost. His face is flushed and his body is stoic. The woman looks up and sees Bucky, her face also turns into a ghost.
“Bucky. It’s been a long time.” She says. Still frozen, he can only nod. Wendy is still clutching onto her dad. The woman, coughs trying to say something with her body shifting.
“I…how long has it been?” Asking
“12 years.” Bucky says, regaining his composure. Realizing Wendy is carrying on his weight, he gives her nice gentle strokes. Natasha, coming to some realization sees Steve coming towards them.
“Wendy, want to go outside? I heard there’s an AMC here.” Steve, trying to distract her from the situation is frozen.
“Steve, is this my daughter?” Natasha asks as Wendy is near tears. Bucky, giving her a nudge and they leave. Holding the bag that carried her plushies, guiding her out. Steve is serious, his forehead tensing as Natasha is pleading with Steve.
“Steve, be honest is that my daughter?” Natasha starts with Steve shushing her, pulling her to the back. Natasha’s breathing becomes staggered.
“How…how is she alive? I thought I asked Melina-“ Natasha starts with Steve, taking a deep breaths before looking at Natasha.
“Yes, Wendy is your daughter. You know what’s odd, when you escaped the Red Room something Bucky, Clint, and I helped you with, you could’ve contacted her. She was out of harms way! Melina didn’t bring her to Dreykov because she knew executing her only granddaughter would’ve killed you. If anything, she brought her to Bucky when she was a baby!” Steve reveals, his eyes near tears. Natasha, collapses taking in the news. Steve sits on the dressing room bench.
Back at the room, Bucky is holding Wendy, trying to think of what to say, stroking her hair with hard strokes.
“Stranger, stranger bad.” Wendy softly says.
“You’re right, strangers aren’t nice a lot of the time. It’s alright, you’re safe now.” Bucky starts, kissing her head. He hears the beeping of the door open and Steve comes in with some food. Bucky sighs, looking at Steve.
“Strangers bad. Strangers bad!” Wendy repeats.
“Hey sweetheart!” Steve goes over to her, sitting next to Bucky. His head turning to see Wendy. He gives her a small smile, putting his thumb near her eye to wipe away an oncoming tear.
“Stranger bad.” Wendy is repeating.
“Wendy, it’s okay. You’re not near strangers, it’s just Steve and I. We’re safe, we’re safe.” Bucky soothes, stroking her hair.
“The woman scared you, didn’t she?” Steve reflects, trying to coax anything out of her.
“She…wasn’t Ariel. Cast members are not strangers. She was! Rapunzel, Pocahontas, Tiana, Cinderella, Winnie the Pooh, his friends, Moana, Peter Pan, and Ariel aren’t strangers!” Wendy spurts out. Despite knowing that the characters weren’t real, they were real to her so they go along with it, not wanting to upset her any more. Steve, pulling out the weighted Spiderman and hands it to Wendy. Steve, cautiously puts his fingers down her back in quick motions to imitate a spider.
“Spiderman…Spiderman, does whatever a Spider can.” Steve starts as Wendy feels the textures of the weighted Spiderman. Fuzzy textures make Wendy fiddle with it a little more, twiddling the strings around her fingers.
“Can we watch Ariel?” Wendy asks. Bucky turns on the TV and scrolls through, making sure the loud welcome music isn’t blaring through the speakers. He realizes she means the Disney Jr. show Ariel and worries about her regression and looks at her, his eyes going wide but holding in the tension in his body.
“Wendy, Ariel isn’t on but Bluey is. Want to watch it?” Bucky infers with Wendy only nodding. Bucky plays Bluey and they watch it together. While Steve grabs dinner, Wendy is playing with her play pad, using stickers as Bluey continues to blare on the TV. Bucky sits next to her, looking at the picture.
“This is really good.” Bucky compliments as he sees the Ariel sticker is crossed out with a black marker. Noticing this, he sits next to her, looking at the picture. His body warms up and his blood is coursing as Wendy is deep into what she is doing.
“Honey, why is Ariel crossed out? I thought she was your favorite princess?” Bucky asks.
“That’s not Ariel. It’s the mom and they left…left Belle. They’re sad as they are crying.” Wendy responds with Bucky thinking about the scene.
“Oh yeah, Belle does look sad. Do you think she would want some flowers or add someone to comfort her?” Bucky asks, trying to use some of the tools Mrs. Ringer taught him. He takes a Pocahontas sticker and attempts to place it next to Belle.
“Now Belle has a friend to give her a hug. Belle will never be alone.” Bucky comforts. Wendy puts the picture aside and does another one, this time using Ariel as the daughter and draws Natasha. Crosses her face with a black crayon, her hand jamming the crayon into the paper. Angrily making deep lines onto the paper. Bucky looks with concern as he lets her continue to color and put stickers on the scene paper. Bucky kisses her head.
“You didn’t like that woman did you?” Bucky asks.
“No and I don’t want to see her again!” Yelling, Bucky feeling tense rubs his neck. Mind racing, fiddling with his metal arm. Wendy sees this, taking her dad’s arm and giving it small rubs. Playing against the cool metal, Bucky smiles tightly thinking about what to say.
“Wendy, there’s something I need to tell you and it’s important.” Bucky starts, continuing to let her fiddle with his arm. He picked her up and held her in his lap, giving her a tight squeeze. His head leaning against her shoulder. Looking down at the crossed out woman that Wendy explained was her mom.
“You know how you asked me a couple months ago about why you didn’t have a mom for the Mother’s Day event at school?” Bucky explains with Wendy nodding.
“Well, um…your mom, my used to be wife did some bad things and sometimes when she did some bad things, she wasn’t herself.” Bucky continues.
“What did she do?” Wendy asks as Bucky takes a deep breath, thinking the best way to explain to her about the Red Room and being an assassin.
“Well, she…you know how at school there are consequences when kids hurt others on purpose? Well, mom…hurt some people and…” Struggling as Steve comes in with Yelena, who has a serious expression as they see Wendy on Bucky’s lap.
“Buddy, did…” Steve starts when Bucky shakes his head and eyes towards the picture she made. Steve slowly makes his way towards them, looking at the drawing and gasps. Bucky nods, looking at Wendy.
“Honey, the woman you saw today and your drawing is your mom. Her name is Natasha Romanoff.” Stating as Wendy freezes. The eerie setting is set with Wendy shaking her head, tears rushing through her eyes.
“No, Aunt…Aunt Yelena, you told me…you told me my mom died. Why…” Wendy is struggling, getting off of her dad’s grip and ran to the room, slamming the door in the process.
Nightime, Yelena, Steve, and Bucky sit around the table. Yelena is drinking a beer as Steve looks at the drawings.
“I…I didn’t think she would be here. Hell, I didn’t think I’d ever see her again.” Bucky says.
“I have not spoke to her since I escaped the Red Room. However, from what I heard…she left the Red Room. I’m not excusing it though.” Yelena adds, gulping down on a sip of beer. Steve looks at the pictures, his heart hurts as Bucky sighs.
“You should show these to Diane. She might be able to help you deal with this.” Steven instructs.
“No, these are Wendy’s drawings and… I…she told me if they are talking about harming herself, harming others, or someone harming her or her friends I can tell her but…this…” Lost for words as he gets up, checking on Wendy to which Yelena stops him.
“Wendy needs time to cool down. Plus, tomorrow we’ll be going to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Let her have decompression time or whatever shit this woman has told you.” Yelena warns.
“Yelena, language.” Steve responds. “But she is right, Buck. I know you want to be there but she needs space. Being in a new place and learning that her mom is alive is a lot to take in, you can talk to her later. Let’s go get some-“ Steve continues when a buzz is reaching all of there phones. They reach for it and see a text from Happy and Rhodey.
“You’ve got to be kidding me.” Bucky moans.
At the police station, Bucky, Steve, Happy, and Rhodey are there. Happy is playing with Morgan while Steve holds Anthony.
“Unbelievable, how do you get arrested at Disneyworld? In what-“ Bucky complains when Rhodey looks at them.
“Apparently, there was an issue with someone cutting them at the Mickey’s Railroad adventure. Pepper took issue with that and argued with the couple. This caused a physical altercation that resulted in both parties being arrested. There will be a hearing to see if they are banned from Disney.” Rhodey explains. Right as Rhodey is done explaining, the police officer releases Pepper and Tony, who are hungover. Morgan runs to Pepper.
“Mommy!” Squealing, hugging Pepper who half-hugs her back.
“Alright, let’s go to the bar. We need a drink-“ Pepper begins when Rhodey groans.
“Seriously, you just got arrested and attacked a party that cut you and all you can say is you want a drink?! Is this what all this vacation is drinking at every opportunity?!” Bucky snaps, frustrated as he leaves, attempting to control his muscles and breathing.
“Oh come on, metal hand. You’ve been having fun, got to go on rides and that is because of us.” Tony argues back.
“Tony, when you invite someone on vacation it’s your job to make sure they’re accommodated. I heard you abandoned Bucky and that’s not fair.” Steve says as Happy guides them out but is not done. Pepper is holding Tony’s hand with Steve holding Anthony.
“We agreed to pay for hotel and park reservations, nothing more. It’s not our fault that your daughter is a re-“ Pepper starts when Bucky glares at Pepper.
“Don’t think about saying that word! Don’t you dare! Happy, take care of this, I’m not talking to him otherwise I’ll end up in a cell!” Bucky walks off in a rush. Tony scoffs and takes Anthony from Steve.
“Tony, this is absurd. You really owe Bucky an apology.” Steve warns.
“What apology? We’re just saying the truth. Our children aren’t ready to deal with someone like Wendy.” Tony retorts.
“Tony, stop you’re making an ass of yourself! Let’s go home, now!” Happy seethes as Steve leaves, following or trying to catch up with Bucky. He sees Tony arguing with Happy and Rhodey, sighing as he continues to walk in the opposite direction.
Back at the room, Wendy is eating a McDonald’s burger and fries that Yelena got. The room clicks and Bucky comes in, relieved to see Wendy eating and looking better.
“Dad, Aunt Yelena got McDonald’s and look, they had squishmellows.” Wendy exclaims. Bucky, his anger coursing only nods and makes his way to his room, slamming the door. Wincing as Steve sighs.
“What is up Bucky’s ass?” Yelena asks.
Yelena, language.” Steve warns, however Wendy is rubbing the mini squishmellows.
“They gave me two squishmellows. This is Fifi and Grimace. Grimace has autism.” Wendy explains as Steve smiles slightly, looking at the squishmellows.
“They do? What makes you say that?” Steve asks.
“Well, Grimace has headphones like me and he’s wearing them. I have headphones like him and if I could, I’d wear them all day.” Wendy explains, feeling the softness of the stuffed animals.
“Oh yeah, they do have headphones on. However, it says here that they use the headphones for music. You use headphones for music as well as noise-cancelling.” Steve says as Wendy nods. Wendy picks up her trash and throws it away. They end the night with Yelena and Steve talking to Wendy and watching The Little Mermaid live action version. When the movie ended, they instructed Wendy to get ready for bed, which she does. Bucky finally comes out, cooling off.
“So what was up your ass?” Yelena chortles with Steve sighing but Bucky explains what happened with Tony and Pepper at the police station which Yelena sighs, trying to keep her cool.
“So will you be affected by the arrest and possible ban? I mean, Stark paid for the tickets. Does this affect my drink around the world experience?” Yelena complains.
“No, apparently our tickets for Hollywood Studios and Epcot will be fine since they werent witnesses and have confirmation due to witnesses seeing you at Disney Springs. However, Tony and Pepper will be another story.” Steve confirms.
“We better not go on any Ariel rides because that movie was enough torture for one night.” Yelena says, leaving the room, shutting the door as Steve and Bucky sigh.
“Seems Wendy is getting more comfortable with her autism. She told me that her Grimace squishmellow has autism.” Steve tells Bucky who only nods.
“Yeah, she’s been better about that with Mrs. Ringer. How was she better? I mean, when we left she was in tears.” Bucky asks.
“Yelena spoke to her and says that it doesn’t matter if she has a mom that she has you. Plus McDonald’s always seems to be the cure for sadness.” Steve explains as Bucky nods, going over the plans for tomorrow and wishing them goodnight. Bucky turns off the lights and goes to sleep.
Epcot/Hollywood Studios
Bucky, Steve, Yelena, and Wendy are at the park. Wearing sunglasses, T-shirts, and shorts they walk to the ball where they all take a picture. Yelena, looking at the gang with eyes wide open.
“I will be starting to drink around the world. Who will join me?” Yelena declares as Bucky sighs with Wendy moving the plates on his arm from left to right, sweat pouring down her face. Her sunglasses feeling cool against the bridge of her nose.
“We should go to see Winnie the Pooh first since I saw…saw on a website where he is. I know how to find him.” Wendy jumbles.
“Maybe later, doll. Let’s do some rides first or get something to eat. Do you want a pastery? I’ll let you get one today.” Bucky tells Wendy as she instantly takes her mind off of finding Winnie the Pooh, instantly jumping up and down, tugging on his metal arm. Bucky winces .
“Wendy, stop.” Bucky warns. Wendy stops, signing sorry to Bucky. Bucky smiles warmly.
“Good job listening. Now, I know you’re excited but right now you need to calm down and do what’s best for everyone. Okay?” Bucky reminds, putting his hands on her shoulder, only nodding.
“Can I get a verbal confirmation?” Bucky restates.
“Yes.” Wendy speaks up, only messing with the plates on his arm and not tugging at it. Bucky nods and smiles small.
“Okay, good girl. Now let’s go find somewhere to eat.” Bucky instructs as they make there way to get some breakfast. They finally found Sunshine Seasons, a quick service restaurant/foodcourt near Soarin and Living the Land rides. Yelena dips to go to Mexico to try and start her quest to drink around the world. Bucky orders Wendy a Chocolate croissant and water while Steven and Bucky get a breakfast sandwich and freshly brewed coffee. They sit down at a table and Wendy is eating her croissant. She sees Soarin and is hesitant in making a suggestion.
“Are we going to do Soarin today?” Asking with Bucky not paying attention as Steve looks at Bucky. Concerned, his eyes are staring into Bucky’s which are filled with dread.
“Yeah, we can. However, let’s take things slow right now.” Steve says as he looks at Bucky. They finish up breakfast but Bucky is still in his own mind.
“Dad, it was good. Thank you!” Wendy thanks with Bucky only nodding with Steve still worried. Yelena comes in, frustrated.
“This is bullshit! I cannot get a drink until atleast 11:00. You’ve got to be kidding me?!” Yelena vents as Bucky sighs heavily, groaning in frustration.
“Yelena, there is a ride behind us. Can you take Wendy to Soarin?” Steve instructs.
“What about you? I thought we were doing things together.” Wendy questions.
“We will, god can you just be patient for one fucking moment?!” Bucky snaps, leaving. Yelena is speechless as she comforts Wendy, who is stunned. Steve comforts her, giving her a side hug.
“Don’t worry doll. It..I know you were just asking a question. Your dad…I’ll talk to him. I promise.” Steve comforts with Wendy nearly in tears.
“I don’t like it when he yells or…or upset. I…was just-“ Wendy loses her wording as Yelena gives her a hug.
“It wasn’t your fault. He has bug up his ass. Come on, let us go to this Soarin. Plus, you can help me get a drink.” Yelena encourages, getting up. Wendy is hesitant but Steve nudges her.
“Go on, I’ll talk to your dad.” Steve encourages. Yelena nudges Wendy, who puts her trash away and goes to the Soarin ride. Steve, follows Bucky’s direction. It took a while before he finds him near the entrance, sitting down next to him. Bucky, wiping tears as he sees Steve who is worried.
“Bucky, you know we’ve known each other for a long time. So, what’s going on?” Steve starts with Bucky sighing, wiping his tears.
“I can’t do this. You guys have fun, I’m going back to the hotel.” Bucky dejects, starting to stand up. Steve stops him, grabbing him by the arms. Bucky resists but Steve keeps firm.
“What is going on with you? You completely lashed out at Wendy back there. Look, I know she tugged your arm and was impatient, but she said sorry for that.” Steve continues.
“I know and a majority of my…anger isn’t her fault!” Snapping.
“Then what is it?!” Steve yells.
“Natasha called me last night! She wants to see Wendy!” Revealing, feeling a relief wash away in his chest but is met with a chest heavy with oncoming tears. Steve, letting this sink in comforts him. He was about to say something but stops.
“You said a majority of your anger wasn’t directed at Wendy. Is there a part of you that is angry at her?” Steve asks. Bucky, hesitantly nods, sighing. He brushes his hair back before looking at Steve.
“I love Wendy, I do. It just…sometimes I wish she was normal. Don’t get me wrong, she tries and I get it’s a lot but…sometimes she…this whole thing gets tough and I don’t know how to handle it. Handle her. How is Natasha going to handle this if I can’t handle it?” Bucky concludes, feeling the hot tears brush against his face. Steve sighs, giving him a side hug.
“They never said it would be easy. Even if she weren’t autistic, it wouldn’t be any easier. Having kids isn’t easy, but that doesn’t mean you need to do it alone. I’m here to help in whatever way you need.”” Steve comforts. Bucky nods.
“I know life hasn’t been kind to either of us. However, that doesn’t mean life’s been kind to her either. She needs help to navigate this world and it won’t be easy, but she is the best thing you will ever have in your life. I’ll help and The Starks aren’t going to be here if it helps.” Steve says as Bucky nods, wiping his tears aggressively.
“How could I think that about my own daughter? I’m a horrible dad” Bucky mourns.
“Buck, you’re not a bad father. You…you’re just overwhelmed by everything.” Steve comforts. They stay like this for a few more minutes before Steve looks at Bucky.
“When does Natasha want to meet Wendy?” Steve asks.
“Tonight. She made reservations at Sci-Fi Dine in Restaurant.” Revealing as Yelena and Wendy go over to them. Wendy, nervous hides behind Yelena. Bucky, guilty stands up and goes to them.
“Wendy, you okay?” Starting but Wendy doesn’t budge.
“Doll, I…I’m really sorry about lashing out at you. You were just asking a question and confused. Can you forgive me?” Bucky apologizes as Wendy thinks before stepping out from behind Yelena. Fiddling with her hair.
“Don’t yell at me anymore. I don’t like it.” Wendy shyly states as Bucky nods and Wendy hugs her dad. Bucky hugs her back, letting the warm squeeze encapsulate her. He gave her a big squeeze, kissing the top of her head.
“How was Soarin?” Steve asks, moving them all to the side.
“It was good. We got the first row and got to see elephants!” Wendy exclaims.
“Though one kid was screaming, total bullshit!” Yelena bluntly states with Bucky, releasing and stares at Yelena who gives a “what” look. Her eyes are shifting up.
“Okay, what do we want to do now?” Steve asks.
“Let’s walk around and if something catches our eye let’s do it.” Bucky explains and they head in the direction of the center of Epcot, where they see Journey of Figment which, despite Yelena’s objections they all do the ride. The ride was slow and at times loud as Figment’s voice roared throughout the ride with all the different sounds and smells. This, surprisingly did not upset Wendy as Bucky held his breath with Wendy as he leaned into Wendy’s ear.
“You okay?” Bucky whispers. Wendy nods as the ride concludes. When they got out, Wendy helps Bucky by grabbing onto his hand to which he takes and gets off.
“Did you like that one?” He asks, handing Wendy her bag to which she takes and straps it around her back. They exit with Yelena exhaling loudly.
“God, I wish the bar was open because that was shi…atrocious.” Yelena complains, fanning herself in the process. Wendy nods, agreeing with her but they keep going, eventually doing Mission Space in which Bucky almost throws up along with Steve. There stomachs churning, trying to breathe through the experience and relieved when it was over and make there way over to Spaceship earth in which the ride, despite the engaging tablet kept breaking down. Wendy could feel her heart beating hard with her cheeks getting rosy red.
“Control it. Control it.” Wendy whispers to herself as tears start to slip out of her eyes. Bucky, sensing her anxiety rubs her arm.
“It’s alright darling. I know this is overwhelming, but it’ll move again.” Bucky comforts as he continues to give her pressure with his gentle strokes. Wendy’s breathing steadied but still felt a little overwhelmed by the darkness and sounds coming out of the rides.
“I want to get off. I don’t like this.” Wendy mutters.
“Me neither, kiddo.” Bucky comforts as the ride begins moving again. It lasts for another five minutes before finally getting off. Wendy began standing up before the lap bar was off but Bucky took her hand and squeezed it tight.
“We’ll get off, remember the lap bars are to keep us safe.” Bucky promised as Wendy stops standing up and they get off not far after telling her to which Wendy climbs. out along with Bucky, who takes her hand and they briskly walk out along with Steven and Yelena. When they get out, there eyes are burning with the sun blinding them.
“Man, that sun is something else!” Steve says as Wendy goes over to a bench and sits down. Bucky follows and helps her, pulling out her live action Ariel doll, feeling it and letting her feel it as well.
“Your overwhelmed?” Bucky asks, Wendy only nods yes as she continues feeling the curls of Ariel’s hair.
“Okay, let’s take some deep breaths. Think we can do that?” Bucky leads, taking deep breaths in and out. Wendy is doing better about taking her breaths, still feeling the doll. They last for a minute or two and despite the sun beating down on Bucky’s arm, his only focus is on Wendy who starts to feel better. She still grips her doll but nods as they stand up, catching up with Steve and Yelena. When Yelena looks at her phone, it’s only 9:00 and she groan.
“Ugh!!!!” It is only 9:00. What is point of being the only park you can drink if they don’t allow to drink till 11:00.” Moaning as they walk down away from the spaceship area, Wendy still holding onto her doll, gripping it. When they reach England, Wendy points to the other side of the area to which Bucky figures out what she wants and shakes his head.
“You know since you already saw Winnie the Pooh, I don’t think we should see him again. However, we’re near Norway. Do you think you want to see Elsa and Anna?” Bucky compromises with Wendy, little nervous.
“Do…will there meet and greet have light? I don’t want darkness right now.” Wendy asks as Bucky realizes why she wants to see Pooh right now. Steve steps forward and grips her shoulder.
“You wanted to see Pooh because he gives you comfort, the lights are bright, and a nice hug?” Steve asks with Wendy nodding. Steve thinks, whispering to Bucky about something. Bucky nods and takes her hand.
“Come on, let’s go see Anna and Elsa. Promise there will be lights.” Bucky compromises as Wendy nods.
“Yelena, can you join us? It might help pass the time before you drink around the world.” Wendy asks as Yelena sighs but nods and Steve says he’ll catch up. Heading in separate directions, they find there way to see Anna and Elsa to which they see its only a 10 minute wait. (May not be accurate but this would be right as they get in line just as Anna and Elsa would be open.) Wendy shifts her weight between her legs as they wait. Kids are jumping up and down, yelling, and at one point a kid blew buddies out of her Ariel bubble machine. It bothered Wendy to some level, she enjoyed popping the bubbles. However, another woman who had a two year old behind her was annoyed.
“Can you control your child?! I mean Christ, you’rere bothering everyone?!” Screaming. The other woman, was red in the face turned around.
“She needs to distract herself. Mind your own business you bitch!” The mother spits back. Bucky, who is tensing prays that nothing will happen. However he feels a hard push, shoving him into the wall that is met with a loud thud.
“Dad!” Wendy yells with Bucky taking Wendy and getting her to a corner, making sure she had pressure but also didn’t get hurt in the process.
“It’s okay, doll. We’re okay, I’m okay.” Bucky soothes, comforting her. Bucky froze in the situation, trying to guard Wendy. He hugged her around her shoulders, shielding her eyes from the attack. Yelena, slightly stunned herself went to Bucky and help cover her ears.
“It’s alright. It’s alright.” Yelena soothes as the screaming and movement becomes more aggressive. Movement of furniture was hitting with other patrons getting out of the line. It took a moment before the cast member swiftly moved the rest of the people down to the end of hallway. Bucky leads Wendy, who is still a little upset with the yelling is shaking.
“It’s okay, we’re okay now.” Bucky comforts.
“She pushed you. I want to say something to her! Yeah, I need to say something.” Wendy says and walks towards the exit by a cast member is standing near the exit.
“Everyone, stay in here.” They declare and Bucky holds her, squeezing her shoulders.
“I know you didn’t like me getting pushed. I didn’t like it either, but I’m okay. We’re okay. I’m not angry, deep breaths. Deep breaths.” Bucky soothes, kissing her head with Wendy taking deep breaths, yelling turning into screaming.
“I really need a drink.” Yelena mutters.
“Really?” Bucky asks as the cast member, opening the door lets the group of people enter to see Anna and Elsa. They stagger shakily inside. The cast member stops the gang just short of the entrance.
“You will be next.” The cast member shakily says as the yelling has died down.
“I’m amazed they didn’t close down the meet and greet.” Another patron says. The atmosphere is tense as people are eerily silent washes over the crowd. Wendy is taking deep breaths, holding onto her doll tightly. Another person scoffs at her holding the doll but Yelena gives them a death stare, preventing them from saying anything.
“I want to see Ariel at Hollywood Studios today. She seems really nice and I can share my doll with her.” Wendy says.
“We can do that. First though, let’s get through Epcot.” Bucky says. A few more minutes later, a cast member lets the second half of the group in. Wendy staggers through as Bucky holds onto her shoulders. Bustling through the line, a huge flash shines through the room. Bucky squeezes her shoulders as they get into the line. The Cast Member explains the photo pass as they get to the end of the pass. Wendy shifts her weight again from left to right. Anna wraps up with a little girl dressed like Elsa. She leaves with her mom. Anna glances at Wendy and smiles softly at her.
“Hello, there.” Saying softly with Wendy going with Anna as Bucky and Yelena step to other side of the camera. Anna, seeing the doll smiles.
“Is this Ariel?” Anna asks. Wendy nods, feeling Ariel’s hair.
“My sister just saw her swimming in Arendelle. Of course the water was freezing so they couldn’t stay long but hopefully you can say hi for me.” Anna explains. Wendy says she will and talks briefly about Olaf and how she likes that he gives warm hugs. Anna laughs, talking more about that before posing for the photo to which Bucky and the cast member help. Wendy breathes through the pictures but can’t help noticing the flashes of the cameras. After the pictures are taken, Anna thanks her and hugs Wendy before she leaves with Bucky and Yelena.
“You okay?” Yelena asks as Wendy nods and sees Elsa, smiling a little more than she did with Anna. Like Anna, she discusses Ariel and how she got to see Ariel in Arendelle. Wendy engages more, touching Elsa’s hands, feeling the coolness of her hands.
“You should warm up. I love hot chocolate, you should get some since your hands are cold.” Wendy explains with the people laughing lightly.
“I love chocolate, Arendelle chocolate is the best. You should definitely join my sister and I for a chocolate tour there someday. Shall we pose for a portrait?” Elsa says as they smile for photos and Bucky joins, along with Yelena (with some force from Bucky). When they are done, Wendy gives Elsa a hug and they leave, thanking the cast members. Exiting, Wendy holds her doll as they transition from the cool air to the blistering heat. Bucky’s smile fades as he sees the two women from before still arguing but separated by security. Wendy tenses, still holding onto her doll. Steve goes over to them, holding a Joffrey’s coffee and a bag.
“Hey, I was making my way over and saw the fight from the entrance of the meet and greet. Everything okay?” Steve asks. Yelena explains what happened with Steve sighing. They make there way to the Frozen ride however, when they see its a 70 minute wait, they back off on the ride and explore different stores. Everything is going well…until Bucky gets a phone call. Looking at the caller ID, revealing it to be Natasha. Sighing as he answers.
“Natasha, what’s wrong?” Bucky asks, his body tensing. Natasha, at Epcot is nervously looking at him from across the room.
“So…the plans for the Sci-fi Dine restaurant fell through. They closed for the day, guess something went wrong for the building. So…I was able to get us a 6:00 reservation at Akershus royal banquet hall. I didn’t know if Wendy would…” Natasha stumbles. Looking down as Bucky looks out at her. Wendy, seeing her dad froze goes to him, quickly.
“Dad, what are you looking at? Uncle Steve says you have moments where you can stare at…” Wendy freezes as Natasha hangs up, goes inside. Wendy, hides behind Bucky. Bucky soothes her, Wendy taking hard deep breaths, feeling her eyes well up with tears.
“No crying.” Whispering softly to herself. Natasha bends slightly to her, her blonde hair swinging through her face.
“Hello.” Natasha starts awkwardly as Bucky comforts.
“You’re my mom?” Wendy asks softly with Natasha nodding. Yelena saw this and went to her.
“Come on. Let us drink, we can try to find a drink. I hear they have churros, let us get one. Then we can head to America and get me Macaroni and Cheese.” Yelena states, taking Wendy’s hand, glaring at Natasha who is looking down as she leaves. Wendy looks back at Bucky, who nods supportingly, mouthing thank you to Yelena. Steve goes with them as well, leaving Bucky and Natasha in the store. They don’t look at each other for a spilt second before they leave, finding a bench with enough shade.
“Why now? Why do you want to get to know her now? You had twelve years, twelve to get to know her.” Bucky starts, clearing his throat.
“I wanted to keep her, but…Dreykov was ruthless. The last thing I wanted was to hurt you and Wendy.” Natasha confesses, keeping her head down.
“Would you have put her through the Red Room? Had you kept her…away from me, would you have put her in the Genetic potential program?” Bucky asks, thinking hard about Wendy.
“No because Dreykov would’ve killed her. He found out about her, but so did Melina and begged me not to kill her. I couldn’t go against his orders but I did love my daughter, I love her and wanted to find her…but…sniffle I thought she would be better off without me. You’ve done a great job raising her so far. She doesn’t have-“ Natasha continues but Bucky looks at her sharply.
“I…I’m overwhelmed some of the time. You know how many times I’ve had to deal with her meltdowns, her overstimulation, shutdown episodes, or just in general her sadness over not having a mom. You could’ve come find us, why didn’t you? I needed you and…some nights I didn’t think I would make it. I helped you leave them, along with Steven and Clint, why didn’t you try?! I needed you!” Bucky cries as Natasha sits there. This lasts for a few minutes before she stands up and goes to him, kneeling to him and hugs him, leaning his face into her body. Wrapping him around her arms.
“I’m so sorry, Bucky. I know I…I don’t expect you to forgive me, nor Wendy. All I ask for is a chance to make things right.” Natasha begs, seeing Steve go to them. Natasha releases and Bucky wipes his tears.
“I’m willing to let this dinner go for the sake of Wendy, but don’t you dare hurt her. She doesn’t need to be hurt twice.” Bucky seethes through his teeth with Steve joining them.
“Buck, Natasha.” Steve greets darkly with Bucky nodding.
“How’s Wendy? She having a meltdown, temper tantrum?” Bucky worries, his heart racing. Steve sees this and places a firm hand on Bucky.
“She’s fine. Yelena is attempting to get a margarita and some churros for her.” Steven explains and they go off to talk some more. In Mexico, Wendy is rocking, hardly touching her churros while Yelena is drinking her margarita.
“God, finally. Alcohol! One country down, ten to go!” Yelena cheers.
“That is good.” Wendy subtly states, trying to eat her churros. Yelena sees her sad expression and stops, taking her hands.
“Your mom is complicated and I’m sorry I lied. Just…I thought I was protecting you. Sometimes people do stupid stuff in order to keep loved ones safe.” Yelena declares as Wendy is still quiet, eating her churros. Yelena squeezes her hand and finishes up her margarita as well with Wendy and the churros with chocolate sauce.
“Come on, let us go to America where I will get Macaroni and Cheese and maybe another drink.” Yelena declares, cleaning there trash and leaving. They make there way down to America, stopping on the way to do Frozen Ever After, which was down to forty minutes. Wendy was starting to smile a little more than earlier but found the intensity of the noise and songs overwhelming at times. Covering her ears lightly with the singing of Let it go which got annoying quickly. Still, it was enjoyable and cool. When they got off, they booked it to America and Yelena was able to get her Macaroni and Cheese with hot sauce. Wendy sat rocking, still feeling her Ariel doll and the curls she had in her hair. In America, she made her way down to a Connections eatery where she got a Mango Mai Tai. Raising her arms, she celebrates and drinks.
“This is soooo good, Wendy. When you are older, we will do this and sneak you a drink.” Yelena says as Wendy smiles. Bucky and Steven make their way to them and catch up, Bucky rubbing his hands together as she looks at Wendy. Wendy, sensing this gives her dad the doll.
“Dad, what’s wrong?” Wendy asks, sensing his anxiety. Bucky takes a deep breath, trying to breathe for her. He smiles small and takes his hands, resting them on her shoulders.
“Wendy, I saw Snow White on our way here. Would you want to meet her while Yelena and Steve finish there meals? I need to talk to you about something important.” Bucky asks with Wendy nodding, standing up. They leave and make there way to the line where it wasn’t long, disheartening Bucky.
“What time will we go to Hollywood Studios? Only asking because I did research that Ariel is there until 5:00.” Wendy asks.
“We can leave around 12:30 and make our way to her first before we do some rides. Honey, there’s something I need to talk to you about after the Meet and Greet.” Bucky says as they move up and eventually seeing her where Snow White took her hand and moved her to the meeting area.
“I’ve been trying to find some flowers for Dopey. What do you think he would like?” Snow White engages.
“I like tulips since there purple.” Wendy responds as Snow White continues. Bucky takes pictures, but unlike previous greets, he wasn’t smiling as much. They posed for pictures and were able to get some hugs in before leaving. Bucky takes her to the side and sits down on a bench.“I like tulips since there purple.” Wendy responds as Snow White continues. Bucky takes pictures, but unlike previous greets, he wasn’t smiling as much. They posed for pictures and were able to get some hugs in before leaving. Bucky takes her to the side and sits down on a bench.
“Wendy, this isn’t easy but…you know I would never put your in a situation that would hurt you. Trust me this wasn’t an easy decision.” Bucky starts, taking deep breaths. Wendy hands her dad the doll to which he takes this time, feeling it as he looks at her.
“Dad, what’s wrong?” Wendy asks.
“Honey, we are going to have dinner with your mom tonight. She really wants to get to know you and I think we should give her a chance, but…how are you feeling about what I said?” Bucky asks with Wendy frozen for a second, really thinking hard about what was told to her. She snatches the doll away from Bucky, squeezing it while also squeezing Bucky’s hand. Taking a couple deep breaths, feeling her lungs expand and tighten with each breath. She felt some tension wash away but her mind still was still racing.
“You should’ve told me sooner. Why didn’t you?” Wendy mutters out with Bucky nodding, the sweat dripping from his back.
“You’re right and I’m sorry. That would’ve helped and I promise if we are uncomfortable, we can leave. I promise, but do you think we can do that? Bucky asks. Wendy thinks about this for a second before pinching her doll, imitating what she would do to herself. Bucky see this and his heart hurts for her, struggling to form her words into coherent sentences. Rest of the story will be in part 2

“Hand ‘em over, Pete!” Mickey demanded. “It’s not what it looks like.” Pete stated. “Oh… So you didn’t steal the cartoons to sabotage the show?” I asked crossing my arms. “Oh, look! A new footage!” Pete pointed, making Mickey look as he ran. “Get him!” I shouted and Pete began to hide among the other characters as Markov and Lucas took the reels back. Pete tried hiding in the Wardrobe, even in Kanga’s pouch when she was sitting with Winnie the Pooh and Tigger. His disguise sitting with the Seven Dwarfs (Doc, Happy, Sneezy, Grumpy, Bashful, Sleepy and Dopey) failed, even hiding among the 101 Dalmatians when Cruella de Vil measured him.
He then tried to hide under the Queen of Hearts’s dress when she was seated with Alice, until he was found by Mickey and the Queen of Hearts sneered at the mouse who nervously smiled and backed away. “Someone, get him!” Minnie shouted as Tantor began to stop Pete’s escape by blocking the door. He tried to get away until he saw Mickey, Donald, and Goofy frown towards Pete as me and Sora join in. “Now, hold on! Let’s not get too carried away!” Pete said in his defense. “Too late. Tantor’s gonna carry you away, "Mighty Pete”.“ Sora said smugly as Tantor tossed Pete out of the House of Mouse, and out into the street where Lydia Pearson and her daughter, Pepper Ann notice him.
"Don’t touch the villain, dear.” Lydia said as they crossed the street. Meanwhile, the Quackstreet Boys end the show with their dance. “Well everybody, that’s our show.” Mickey said to the crowd. “Mike, take us out of here.” He said as Mike began to be lowered down to speak out advertising sponsors. “Transportation for the House of Mouse courtesy of: Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo Limo Service! You’ll have a ball with one of our magically mobile vegetables.” Mike spoke as the screen showed images of the transportation service. “The classic pumpkin,” Mike spoke as Cinderella and Prince Charming were next to it. “the luxury town gourd, or the extravagant stretch watermelon.” Mike said as the Fairy Godmother waved. “Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo Limo Service! Home by midnight or your ride’s free. Some limos might contain seeds.” Mike closed as the toons began to leave after the show.
Mickey Mouse had gotten the newest cartoon that he, Minnie and Goofy got in town. This one was called "Hickory Dickory Mickey". "Let's get this cartoon hooked into your phone." Mickey spoke. "Best leave that to me." Markov said as the robot placed the cartoon in the DVD player, and then converted it into video on Lucas's phone. "Alright. Let's do this." Mickey spoke. In this cartoon, Mickey promised Goofy to take him to the airport at 6 am, but his new clock Goofy gave him was giving problems getting to sleep. The next morning, Mickey took Goofy to the airport, which was next door to his house. As the cartoon was over, the audience began to applaud.
“What a great show, huh? Next, we got "I Want It All" by Kristine Sanchez for Broken Karoake. But first, I’d like to thank our friend, our co-host, Lucas, the Quackstreet Boys and–” Mickey spoke until Pete angrily went to him on the stage. “So, you think you’re hot cheese, eh? Well, what kind of show do you have with just that one cartoon? Over and over and over…” Pete said pointing at Mickey’s chest as something fell out of his shirt, a cartoon reel. “What’s that, Mighty Pete?” I started to frown. “Uh… it’s a skin condition.” Pete lied.
“Okay, that’s it. Search time!” I said as I activated mechanical arms on my backpack grabbing Pete by the legs, shaking him up and down. “Stop! Let go of me!!” Pete screamed as some more cartoon reels fell out. “What’s this?” Jack spoke. "Oh my gosh!" Marinette shouted seated with Adrien. “Oh look! The stolen cartoons!” Goofy shouted.

Disneyland DILF
Summary: While on a family vacation to Disneyland, Elide discovers her husband Lorcan has been featured on the viral Instagram page ‘DILFS of Disneyland.’
When he claims not to know what a DILF is, Elide decides the best way she can explain it to him is to demonstrate what the F stands for.
Tumblr media
For the wonderful and amazing and talented @headcanonheadcase! I've been teasing this Lorcan DILF fic for a while, so thanks for being patient with me! Thank you for being so kind and supportive, and I hope you enjoy!

“Come on Jack, look over here! Look at Mommy! Come on baby, just give me one good photo!”
Whoever coined the idiom “herding cats” to describe an impossible task should have instead used something like, “getting your toddler to look at a camera for more than one second for a halfway decent picture.” The latter, Elide decided, conveyed more of the frustrating nuance that people were bound to face, even if it was a bit too lengthy of a phrase. Who even had enough cats to herd anyways?
“Lorcan, can you stop distracting him for one minute, please? I really wanna get a picture of Jack with Pluto. And can you fix his hair?”
Her husband stopped whispering whatever he was saying to their son. He looked up at Elide with a frown.
“I’m not distracting him - I’m just telling him how better dressed he is than every other kid here.”
“Well, maybe don’t do that,” she cringed, as a middle aged woman wearing a pair of Mickey Mouse ears with a gaggle of similarly dressed children behind her shot Lorcan and Elide a dirty look.
“And I think his hair looks good like this,” Lorcan went on, slightly tussling his son’s dark hair. “It looks effortlessly messy and windswept. Classic.” Jack agreed, as he grinned and clapped his pudgy little hands at his father’s compliments.
“He’s two,” Elide deadpanned. “He’s not going to be on the cover of Baby Vogue.”
Lorcan hummed. “Is that a thing? It should be, and Jack should be on the cover -“
She sighed; she knew when she lost her battles with her husband, rare that it happened. “One, two, three -“
Quick as a snake, Lorcan turned himself and Jack towards Elide’s phone and gave their biggest grins for the picture: Lorcan’s a small uptick of the corners of his mouth, his long, dark hair swaying in the warm breeze, while Jack grinned toothily at the camera.
“Oh, that actually turned out pretty good,” Elide said, slowly walking over to show the picture to Lorcan. “And Plutos is in the background, so I guess that technically counts.”
“Pluto’s the dog, right?” Lorcan asked, settling Jack back in his stroller.
Elide looked at her husband exasperatedly. “Yes, Pluto’s the dog. I still don’t understand how you know so little about Disney. It’s like you grew up under a rock.”
Lorcan shrugged as they set off at a slow pace down Disneyland’s broad Main Street and into the heart of the park. “Growing up in an orphanage and joining the military at 18 doesn’t exactly lend itself to having a pop culture filled childhood.”
“Disney transcends pop culture,” Elide muttered distractedly, pulling up the Disneyland app on her smartphone. “I know I should have quizzed you on everything Disney, or at least made you memorize the map of this place.”
“Where are we off to next?” he asked, looking over her shoulder at the map pulled up on her phone.
“Where aren’t we going? Big day planned. Jack loves Tigger so I want to head over to the Critter Country area so he can meet him and get some pictures together. I think we’d all like the Jungle Cruise - can you double check I packed the noise canceling headphones? - watch the parade, hang around in Toontown, depending on how Jack is doing, then end the day by visiting Sleepy Beauty’s castle. That’s been on my to do list since I was a little girl.”
Lorcan arched an eyebrow. “Is this Disneyland vacation for him or you?”
Elide pursed her lips. “It’s for all of us, you giant twerp. But what do you want to do? I’ll hang back with him if you want to go on rides or visit the Star Wars area.”
“I don’t need to do anything other than be with you two. Just keep me fed and I’ll go wherever you tell me.”
Elide grinned. “Smart man. How about we head over to Adventureland for the Jungle Cruise? I think he’d like the animals.”
“Lead on,” Lorcan said, wheeling Jack’s stroller around and following Elide further into the park.
The Jungle Cruise was a hit. Lorcan strapped Jack into his front-facing toddler carrier and held him the entire time, making sure his headphones were on and pointing out the different animals they saw, to Jack’s delight. Elide should have spent the ride taking in the sights around her - this Disneyland trip was truthfully perhaps more for her than for their son - but she couldn’t help but let her gaze linger on Lorcan.
Devilishly handsome didn’t seem like it did her husband justice. Nearly seven feet tall, with shiny shoulder length dark hair, a perfectly symmetrical face, and rippling muscles that didn’t seem real, Elide knew Lorcan was a catch.
But what she adored even more about him was his personality: his quiet, understated humor, how loyal he was, his bravery, and his unending support for everything Elide put her mind to. He carried her weight  - sometimes literally - when her disability became too much for her and she struggled to walk even with her ankle brace on.
Best of all, he was an excellent father. Before Jack had been born, he’d confessed to Elide that he was scared that he didn’t know how to be a good dad and he’d do something to traumatically mess up Jack’s life. She didn’t believe that for a second; she had full faith in him, and told him that repeatedly. The first time Lorcan held Jack after he was born was the closest Elide had ever seen him to crying.
And now here he was, willingly walking around the capitalistic hell that was Disneyland, all so his wife and son could have a picture perfect day. What a lucky woman she was.
“I think he really enjoyed that,” Lorcan commented after they collected their stroller from the front of the ride. He decided to keep wearing Jack in his front-facing carrier - “He’ll be able to see things better that way,” he reasoned - and Elide wasn’t going to complain, especially since seeing Lorcan carry their kid around sent odd little flutters throughout her body.
“He did,” Elide cooed, re-fastening Jack’s little velcro shoes so he wouldn’t kick them off. “I got a good picture of him looking at elephants.”
“Good thing he didn’t seem to realize what the lions were doing to that zebra.”
Elide shuddered. “Yeah, maybe some parts of this ride aren’t the best for babies and toddlers.”
“Where to next?” Lorcan asked. “Try to find Tigger and then lunch?”
“Sounds like a plan,” Elide said, kissing Jack’s cheek and squeezing Lorcan’s hand. “Want me to take the stroller?”
“You navigate, I’ll steer.”
She quickly learned Disneyland was much larger than the little map on her phone made it look. By the time they found Tigger and took dozens of pictures of an excited Jack with his favorite character, and let him burn some energy on a Winnie the Pooh playground, Elide’s ankle throbbed with every footstep she took. She hobbled to a sitting bench and watched Jack go down a slide before running back up to go down again and again.
“How are you doing?” Lorcan questioned, sitting down next to her on the bench.
“I may have underestimated how much walking we were going to do today,” she admitted, leaning down to rub her ankle.
“Want your brace?”
She grimaced. “Maybe not right now. I’ll try to wait until after lunch. Speaking of, I think Jack’s getting hungry and tired - want to see if we can find somewhere to sit out of the sun?”
They found a shaded and relatively quiet restaurant in the New Orleans area, and Elide sat at the table and put on her ankle brace, waiting for their food, as Lorcan walked around with Jack in the picturesque square outside the restaurant. She watched them contentedly as Jack toddled over a short railing into a flower bed and stuck his entire head into a bunch of flowers. Rather than pull him out, Lorcan crouched down next to him and started pointing out different flowers to Jack.
Sighing happily, she took a sip of her mocktail and closed her eyes, leaning back in her chair. Besides her ankle, the day was going perfectly.
“Mama! Mama!”
She opened her eyes. Lorcan was walking towards her with Jack on his hip, a bunch of bright flowers, dirty roots and all, dangling from his fat fist.
“He was very interested in the flowers, and I told him how much you like flowers too,” Lorcan said, putting Jack in a high chair as he thrust the flowers at Elide.
“Oh Jack, these are perfect,” Elide gasped, fighting the tears that had welled in her eyes and taking the bright arrangement from her son. She leaned down to kiss Jack on a chubby cheek. “Thank you so much baby.”
“Seems I’m gonna have to do better the next time I give you flowers,” Lorcan grumbled. “Not sure how I’m gonna compete with a fresh Disney bouquet.”
“I’m surprised no one came and shooed you away,” Elide noted, wrapping the bottom of the flowers in a napkin and tucking them in the stroller.
“Oh, someone did,” Lorcan confirmed nonchalantly. “Especially when Jack tossed a bunch of tulips on the ground. They didn’t seem to like us damaging park property, or something.”
“Lorcan!” Elide admonished. “You didn’t make someone miserable over some flowers, did you?”
No, I just stood up and I guess they thought better about trying to yell at me. Besides, it’d be well worth making anyone miserable if it made you happy.”
“Aw. That is so sweet and threatening.”
He winked and gave her a small smile. “Anything for you.”
They took their time with lunch and by the time they finished, Jack had fallen asleep in his stroller. Deciding to let him sleep, they staked out a shaded bit of lawn and sat down to watch the parade from a distance. Full of energy when he woke up, they leisurely made their way over to Toontown and got in line for the steam train ride.
“I can take him for a bit,” Elide suggested, picking a bench in the back of the train so Lorcan wouldn’t block anyone out. “You’ve been handling him a lot today.”
“I got him,” Lorcan said, sitting Jack on his lap. “You just sit and relax.”
Her husband had apparently designated himself as being on ‘Jack Duty’ all day, as he refused to let Elide even push his stroller or hold him, besides whenever she thrust her phone at Lorcan and asked him to take pictures.
“Is that safe, Lorcan?” Elide asked nervously after they had gotten off the train. Her husband had just thrown Jack onto his shoulders, giving him the best view in the entire park.
“Course,” Lorcan grunted, holding onto their son’s legs, his arms flexing as they walked towards Goofy’s Playhouse. “Just want to make sure he can see everything. He loves people watching, just like his mom.”
They set Jack down and he immediately ran into the bright, cartoon style house.
“He’s gonna sleep so well tonight,” Elide sighed happily.
“And we won’t?” Lorcan countered, an eyebrow raised.
“Good point. I’m glad tomorrow is a lazy day at the beach.”
By the time they dragged Jack away nearly an hour later, even he had come to the conclusion that he was ready to leave. Burying his face in Lorcan’s shoulder, he didn’t seem to mind stopping at Sleeping Beauty’s castle. Elide didn’t have the energy to go up and explore any of the winding passages and staircases, but Lorcan still took her picture everywhere she could go in the castle, juggling her phone in one hand and their near-sleeping son in the other.
“You could have put him in the stroller,” Elide said as they made their way back to their car, double and triple checking that they hadn’t lost anything in the park.
“That’s alright. Didn’t want to risk waking him up.”
Dinner was some fast food they picked up on the way back to their Airbnb. Jack picked at his food and didn’t fight them as they gave him a quick bath and Lorcan got him settled for bed in the small second bedroom of the condo. Elide showered and stepped into the master bedroom to find Lorcan laying on the bed reading a book.
“Did he go down pretty easy?” she asked, drying her hair.
“Oh yeah. Only made it a few more pages into The Hobbit before he passed out.”
“God, same kid,” Elide groaned, throwing on her pajamas and crawling into bed next to Lorcan, grabbing her phone and looking through the several hundred photos she and Lorcan had managed to snap that day.
Opening Instagram, she scrolled through her friend’s recent posts and videos - Aelin and Rowan celebrating their wedding anniversary, Manon’s rescue bulldog Abraxos officially completing training to become a therapy dog, and some professional pictures of Yrene, Chaol and their daughter - before she noticed a ‘Suggested for You’ account:
dilfs_of_disneyland
Elide snorted and scrolled away. How stupid and niche. It was probably filled with a few blurry creepshots of men at Disneyland, or a PR stunt of some kind for a movie or TV show or podcast. No, thank you. Elide had standards. She scrolled away.
On the other hand, she was on vacation; her standards could take a break. She scrolled back up and clicked on the account and was brought to a professional looking Instagram page:
DILFS of Disneyland: Welcome to the Happiest place on Instagram!
Apparently the account wasn’t niche at all - it had over 400,000 followers, and more than 1,200 posts, all featuring pictures of handsome men with babies and toddlers at Disneyland. Elide was stunned, scrolling through post after post after post of men with their kids at Disneyland, doing frankly normal things - pushing strollers, posing for pictures, eating ice cream and churros with their kids - but there was something… else, something more she couldn’t quite put her finger on that made these men extra appealing.
Not that she would ever admit this to Lorcan. Snorting, she scrolled back to the top of the page when she noticed a new post from today with an all too familiar face:
WOW 😍😍 A DILF to beat all DILFS! Taking Tall, Dark and Handsome to a new DILF-y level!! #hotdads #dilfsofdisneyland #dilfalert #strollermeat”
There was her husband, in all his DILF-y glory from throughout the day: Lorcan walking with Jack strapped to his chest, Lorcan pushing Jack in his stroller, and even one from late in the day when Jack sat on Lorcan’s shoulders. Elide had to give it to the photographer on that one - his arms and chest looked absolutely ripped in the photo.
And the internet agreed. The post had only been up for a few hours and already amassed several hundred likes and over one hundred comments, all from women - and some men - going feral for Lorcan.
“Call the fire department, cuz I’m about to climb that DILF like a tree and get stuck”
“Hello Daddy😏😘”
“God bless this Disney DILF🙏🏻🙏🏻”
Elide couldn’t help but chuckle. She maybe should be concerned that someone had been stalking her husband at Disneyland but as she looked through the many comments bemoaning how hot and unavailable Lorcan was, she didn’t feel any anger for the people drooling over her husband. Her chuckle morphed into a full laugh, until Elide was snorting in laughter.
“What are you laughing at?”
Lorcan was staring at her, his brow furrowed.
“Your greatest fear has come true,” Elide gasped out.
Lorcan sat up. “Rowan got some stupid award he can rub in my face?”
“No, you’re internet famous. Kind of.”
“What?” he snapped, rolling on his side to try to look at her phone. “What happened?”
“It’s nothing bad,” she said, working to contain her laughter. “The internet says you’re a DILF.”
Lorcan stared at her blankly. “A what?”
“A DILF. You know,” she repeated, waving her hand like that would explain the acronym.
"What’s a DILF?”
Elide sat up on her elbows. “Wait, really? You don’t know what a DILF is?” She narrowed her eyes and cocked her head at Lorcan, studying him for any of his lying tells.
“Really. What’s it mean?”
“You’re thirty-four!” Elide exclaimed. “How do you not know what a DILF is?”
“Well, I’m not glued to my phone twenty-four seven -”
“Because your old flip phone doesn't have internet and you only have three people’s phone numbers.”
“Just tell me what it means,” Lorcan grumbled, pouting.
Elide snickered. “It means ‘dad I’d like to fuck.’ There’s an Instagram page devoted to dads in Disneyland, and you’re proving very popular.” She handed her phone to Lorcan and watched him read through the myriad of comments left on his pictures.
“Huh. That’s… interesting.”
Elide shrugged. “Maybe a little odd, but they don’t mean any harm by it. Just people admiring how hot and good of a dad you are.”
“And being a dad… makes me more attractive to women?”
“Oh definitely. There have been times when you’ve been so good with Jack I jumped you when we put him down for a nap. And seeing you today, holding Jack, playing with him…” she trailed off, biting her lip and sweeping her eyes down his body.
“Really? That gets you going?”
“Maybe,” she purred, crawling over to him and swinging her leg over him so she sat on his lap, “I could put on a demonstration of the ‘F’ in DILF, if you still need convincing.”
He grinned, trailing his big hands up her slim thighs. “I’ve always been more of a hands-on learner. That might help it… sink in.”
“Maybe if you’re lucky, that won’t be the only thing you’ll be sinking into,” she murmured, leaning down to capture Lorcan’s lips against hers.
Lorcan’s warm hands grasped the sides of her head to keep her still as their tongues met. Elide sighed with pleasure. She could spend all night just kissing her husband, feeling his large body flex and shift underneath her, his hands trailing soft caresses down her body. His fingers dove beneath her sleep shorts. She was already wet. She gasped as his fingers trailed up and down her slit before plunging a thick finger inside her.
“Guess you weren’t kidding about getting turned on by me being a DILF,” Lorcan mumbled against her, nipping her bottom lip.
Groaning, she rolled off him and threw herself off the bed, tugging her clothes off. “Well, hop to it,” she breathed, laughing softly as Lorcan fumbled to get his pants and shirt off.
She took a moment to stare at his body: a strong chest covered with a smattering of dark hair that formed a dark line below his belly button, thick thighs that could crush a person to death if he needed to. And his cock. Thick, long, and perfectly proportional to his big body and which looked obscene next to Elide’s petite form.
Lorcan lay on the bed, absentmindedly stroking his cock as he looked Elide up and down. “Dad you’d like to fuck, hm?” He murmured. “How about I get you warmed up for a fucking?”
Elide shivered. “What do you have in mind?”
“I like the idea of… sinking into you.” He grinned lazily, and her belly tightened with anticipation. “Get on.”
He grabbed a small bottle of lube and coated his thick length liberally. She climbed on top of Lorcan and gasped as he spun her around and settled her over his cock, her knees bracketing his hips as she faced away from his face, towards his long legs and feet. She turned around to look at him.
“Just wanna feel you around me,” he remarked. Grabbing his cock, he pulled her down, letting her take him within her at her own pace.
Elide moaned. Even after all this time, she still needed to take him slowly, let him stretch out her inner walls. The lube helped immensely. She swirled her hips, taking an inch before withdrawing and taking another, then another, then another, Lorcan’s deep groans egging her on. Finally she sunk down fully against his body. She started to raise herself on her knees to start that intimate rhythm they both knew so well when Lorcan’s hands gripped her hips.
“Hold on,” he said, not letting her move. “Now that you’re here, I wanna enjoy this.”
“Were you not having fun before?” Elide gasped, feeling him twitch inside her.
“Oh, I was and still am,” he said, caressing her hips. “Just come back down and lean forward a bit - yeah, just like that.”
Elide blushed as she leaned forward over Lorcan’s body, grabbing his knees for leverage. She felt exposed and open as Lorcan hummed appreciatively, rubbing his hand over one of her ass cheeks.
“You take me so well,” he murmured. “I think this is a nice interlude before I fuck you. Just wanna feel you warming my cock.”
She craned her neck and gave him an annoyed look. This is not at all what she thought he meant by ‘warming her up.’ “And what about me?”
Lorcan raised an eyebrow. “I was under the impression that we ended up here because you get so turned on just by me being a good dad. Don’t I have a say in how I want to be fucked?”
“Well, I guess, but -“
“Then just sit there nice and pretty on my cock,” he soothed. “Don’t move though, just stay still.”
“Lorcan,” Elide squirmed against him. “I need -“
“Don’t worry, I’ll fuck you full in a bit,” he said distractedly, and Elide knew he felt her cunt clench around his cock ar his words. “I just wanna finish this chapter -“
She tsked. “Really?”
“Yeah,” he said, reaching for his book with one hand and rubbing her back with the other. “Just a few minutes.”
Elide sighed and turned her head back towards Lorcan’s legs, forcing herself to relax. She considered herself fairly adventurous in bed, and her and Lorcan had a very open and healthy sex life, but this was one thing they hadn’t tried yet. Elide didn’t see the appeal in cockwarming, but actually experiencing it, well…
Lorcan subtly shifted his hips and she felt his cock somewhere in her stomach. Cursing, she gripped his knees and made herself stay still. This wasn’t how she thought this would go. When she initially climbed on his lap she thought she’d suck him for a bit then ride him, or maybe bend herself over the bed so he could pound into her from behind.
But here she was, hypersensitive and aware of every little movement and touch from Lorcan, only a few breaths away from breaking and begging him to do something.
Which is probably why he did this. Jerk.
“I can hear you thinking.” She refused to turn around to look at him but she could hear the smirk in his voice.
“Just thinking how I actually wanted to fuck my husband, not stare at a wall with his cock stuffed in me,” she sniffed.
Lorcan laughed. “Ok, Ok, I get it. You’re lucky I’m done with my chapter.”
She whined as he lifted her off his length. She felt horribly cold and empty until he flipped her around on her back and kneeled in between her legs.
“That wasn’t even five minutes, just so you know,” Lorcan said, stroking his slick cock and glancing down to her red pussy.
“Bullshit,” she gasped as her husband gripped her thighs and hauled her towards him so her legs were resting over his hips. “Felt like an hour.”
He hummed. “I should fuck you for an hour, so you have a frame of reference next time we do this.” He laid a wide spread hand on her stomach and moved his hand up her torso.
“What a perfect little wife you are,” he whispered. Elide gulped; his hand covered nearly her entire chest, and his fingers graced the hollow of her throat.
“Please,” she gasped, licking her lips and shifting her hips to graze his cock.
“So tiny, but like you were made for me.” He looked down to where they were almost joined. His cock jutted obscenely out over her stomach.
“Is this what you imagined?” He asked, dragging the head of his cock over her clit before settling at her entrance. “When you told me that I’m a DILF, and how excited that makes you?”
Elide couldn’t answer, her eyes darting between Lorcan’s dark gaze and his thick cock so close to where she wanted him.
He squeezed her thighs. “Well?”
“Yes,” she said in a broken whisper. “Yes, I imagined you fucking me so hard -“
Lorcan pushed into her in one hard stroke and Elide lost her train of thought. Lost every thought she’d ever had, honestly, as Lorcan gripped her waist and set a hard pace.
Elide grabbed Lorcan’s forearms as he pounded into her, needing to feel even more of his warm body and to keep herself from moving around the bed with the power of his thrusts. She threw her head back at a particularly rough thrust.
“Fuck Lorcan,” she groaned, aware that she couldn’t be as loud as she wanted with Jack in the room next door.
“God, you’re always so tight,” he grunted out, wrapping his arms around her thighs and hauling her lower half off the bed and further into his lap, letting him thrust even deeper inside her. “Feel so good. Is this hard enough for you?”
“Yes!” Her orgasm inched closer and closer. She reached down and started circling her clit rapidly. If he kept fucking her just like this, and she kept touching herself…
“I wonder how turned on you’d get if we had another,” he said, staring down at her intently. “You wouldn’t be able to keep your hands off me, would you?”
Lorcan didn’t get an answer as Elide came, squeezing her eyes shut and biting her lip to keep herself quiet. Warmth spread throughout her body as her orgasm traveled along her nerves, lighting her up from the inside. She was vaguely aware of a muffled groan above her and more warmth between her legs as Lorcan came.
He dropped her limp legs and bracketed his arms next to Elide’s head, careful not to crush her as he gave her a gentle kiss before rolling beside her. They lay in blissful silence for a few moments, each focusing on slowing their erratic breathing, when Lorcan let out a huff of air, then another, until he started chuckling.
“DILFs of Disneyland. How many likes did the post have?”
“Hm?” Elide mumbled, halfway to falling asleep.
“Were there a lot of comments on my post? I only saw about a dozen.”
“A lot of… what?”
“Any chance you can check your phone?”
She propped herself on one elbow to stare at Lorcan, brows furrowed. “What? You don’t know anything about Instagram or how it works.”
Lorcan rolled his eyes. “Of course I know how Instagram works. I browse it every now and then.”
“How? Your phone doesn’t have any apps!”
“The desktop.”
“Your old desktop computer?” Elide asked, flabbergasted. “I didn’t realize that thing still worked. And whose accounts are you looking at?”
“Yours, obviously.”
Oh. “Lorcan,” Elide said, grinning softly. “That’s so sweet -“
“And the DILFs of Disneyland page.”
The grin vanished from her face. “What.”
“Yeah, Rowan showed it to me when I told him we were coming here, and he said he and Aelin and their girl are planning a trip later this year. I bet him I could not only get featured on the DILFs of Disneyland Instagram account, but also get more likes than him if he manages to get featured too.”
Elide stared at her smug husband, slack jawed. “So the entire day you insisted on holding and wheeling Jack around -“
“Was because I wanted to spend time with him and so your ankle wouldn’t get sore and we’d have to leave early,” he said gently, bringing her down to lay on his chest. “But if it also meant there were lots of opportunities for me to look hot as hell while holding Jack, then that was nice too.”
“You self centered ass,” Elide said, lightly smacking his shoulder as Lorcan laughed. Elide couldn’t help but join in, shaking her head all the while.
“Well, what did you two idiots bet on?”
“Bragging rights and the loser has to get a shirt for the winner proclaiming them the official DILF of Disneyland.”
“If you somehow win, that will be a bedroom shirt only,” Elide warned.
“Definitely not. I’m gonna wear it around all the time. Get fucked, Rowan.”
“Then you’ll be the one to explain to Jack what a DILF is.”
“This is great,” Lorcan said, pointedly ignoring Elide. “As soon as we get back, I’m gonna email him my DILF pictures -“
“God, you’re such an old man,” Elide laughed, throwing herself dramatically on the bed next to him. “Living up to the reputation of dads being terrible with technology.”
“I make up for it in other ways, don’t I?” he breathed against her neck, his lips trailing past her collarbone and breasts and stomach and then even lower.
“Oh! Yes, I suppose you do have your strengths,” Elide mused breathlessly as Lorcan settled his head between her thighs.
Unfortunately for Elide, Lorcan received his DILF of Disneyland shirt from Rowan, and he gloated insufferably. Fortunately for her, though, Lorcan made sure to show his wife how he became a DILF, and she couldn’t walk straight for two days.
She had to give it to them: the DILFs of Disneyland account really was the happiest place on Instagram.

We re Half a year! (6 months away) From Public Domain day 2024! So how are we feeling? Alsoove your blog!
you almost (but not really) have to feel bad for Bob Iger, he came sweeping back in thinking he was gonna fix it all only to be locked in a legal and culture war with the craziest Republicans imaginable, in the middle of a strike fight with WGA and SAG, and has managed to make himself the public face and union enemy #1, like good job, if you're a rich AF CEO of a company and the workers are on strike the move is to SHUT THE FUCK UP and hide because no one wants to hear from you.
and now coming up Disney will lose (exclusive) control of Mickey Mouse (and Minnie Mouse, and Tigger too!) now I expect the gray zone of copyright and trademark will keep the Mouse largely under Disney's control its one more headache, legal issue, and chance for embarrassment
sucks to suck Bob.
and thanks for the kind words about the blog I try.

So I am a big Disney fan,and a fan of voice acting so finding this 1985 episode of the Disney Family album is kind of a treat
you get interviews with Wayne Alwine (Mickey Mouse) ,Hal Smith(Goofy in Mickeys Christmas Carol ),Alan Young (SCrooge Mcduck ),Will Ryan (Willie the Giant and Pete in Mickeys Christmas Carol/Tigger and Rabbit in Welcome to Pooh corner ),Paul Winchell (Tigger),Sterling Holloway (Many roles, primarilly Winnie the Pooh and Kaa ) ,Adriana Cassolotti(Snow White ) ,Dickie Jones (Pinocchio ) ,Kathryn Beaumont (Alice from Alice in Wonderland and Wendy in Peter Pan ),Eva Gabor (Duchess in Aristocata and Bianca in Rescuers ) ,Phil Harris ( Baloo in Jungle Book and Thoma O Malley in Aristocats ), John Byner (Gurgy from Black Cauldron ) and John Hurt (Horned King in Black Cauldron )
1.Oh god old hollywood actors are so jaded ,Dickie Jones was almost drowned doing the voice for Pinocchio and says it too damn casually
2.I'm a fan of the movie so it was nice for them to talk about the Aristocats
3.This is the only interview I could find about John Hurt being in the Black Cauldron
EDIT so I put the wrong video in last time

This is just for fun, fyi
I feel like making a ranked list of Disney feature movies, according to my personal preference, from "worst" to "best".  To begin, I have to list in chronological order, the ones I have yet to see, so that their absence in the list can be explained.
The Black Cauldron
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
Oliver & Company
Doug's 1st Movie
Fantasia 2000
The Tigger Movie
Brother Bear
Home on the Range
The Princess and the Frog
Frozen II
Strange World
Now that I have a list of movies I have actually seen, some once, some several times, some many times, I can share my thoughts on each one, and what makes them so good, or not good.
The Little Mermaid
This one's a "not good", though it has some charm.  All the same, it goes on the very bottom of the list, namely because (1) Ariel is sixteen years old and wants to run away from home to chase after a guy she finds handsome and (2) that whole "never underestimate the power of "body language"" line.
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
This movie was a triumph at the time, but honestly there are only seven redeeming features: the dwarves.  As a main character, Snow White is insipid.  Giselle from Enchanted has a similar premise in her story, but she manages to be gullible in a way that doesn't remove her charm and claim to intelligence.  The queen is scary, which is fine for adults, but a child watching that movie may have nightmares.  Case in point: I did.
Pinocchio
Again, with this movie, the main character did not claim my allegiance.  I liked Jiminy Cricket, I liked Geppetto, and I liked the cat and the fish.  The whole movie is an adventure, supposedly, but each phase of the movie is more terrifying than the previous for a sensitive child.  Not a fan.
Fantasia
Apart from the animated sequence with Mickey as the Sorcerer's apprentice, the movie is long and boring.
Atlantis: The Lost Empire
I only saw it once, and I was young.  I thought it was a good movie, but I was too young to fully understand what was happening.  I need to watch it again, as an adult.
Treasure Planet
Again, I only saw it once, but I remember enjoying it thoroughly.  However, I don't have the same emotional attachment as I do to the rest of the roster.
Frozen
I enjoyed Frozen.  It has a lot going for it.  But like the icy landscape it depicts, I feel little to no warmth towards it.  The way those parents treated Elsa, and then the way Elsa felt she had to treat Anna…it's just depressing.
Chicken Little
We are now in the territory of "I love them all, so this is the one I love less than the others".  I love Chicken Little.  I love the characters, I love the sci fi element, I love the soundtrack, and I love the father-son relationship that is at the heart of the movie.  It's just: there are so many of these movies that I love even more.
Bolt
The reason I love this movie so much is the cat character.  Her rough, tough exterior with a vulnerable side that you get to see peeking through makes her the most layered character.  And of course, the dog is cute, the girl who loves the dog is cute.  But really, I watch this movie because I love that cat.
Big Hero 6
The team coming together was awesome.  Baymax was awesome.  So many elements of this story rocked.  I love it, but only this much.
The Great Mouse Detective
I haven't seen this movie since I was little, but I clearly remember how much I loved it.  It was not terrifying, it was thrilling.  In fact, every time a story depicted rodents, for some reason I simply loved it.
The Sword in the Stone
I only remember the first half of this movie.  I remember enjoying it.  But if the ending was that forgettable, I think it deserves a lower rank on the scale.
Robin Hood
Honestly, the fact that they reused so much animation from other movies to make this one quickly irks me to the point that I cannot love it as much as it would otherwise deserve.  Marion is the best part of the movie.
The Jungle Book
This movie is good.  Unfortunately, it is a case of "the movie cannot live up to the book".  Rudyard Kipling's Jungle Book is a masterpiece, and the "Disneyfied" version is entertaining to kids, but they deserve to read the book(s).
The Lion King
They say a main character is only as good as his villain.  This is not the case with The Lion King.  Scar is an amazing villain, the hyenas are amazing henchmen, Mufasa is an awesome father, Zazu, Timone and Pumbaa are such good comic relief, Rafiki is the wise advisor, and Nala is a badass love interest.  So why, Simba, are you so two-dimensional and downright dull?  The movie is good despite the main character.  He's cute when he's little though.
Peter Pan
I've never read Peter Pan, but I have seen a live action version which blew my mind.  This version came first, but the other is better.
Alice in Wonderland
Again, the book is better.  However, this time, the movie captures some of the whimsy and mood of the book, so it is redeemed.  Also the tea party scene is hysterical.
Meet the Robinsons
Again, I love this movie.  I love the family, I love the plot, the time travel element, the surprise ending, the soundtrack.  It's just not as dear to me as all the rest, so here is its place on the list.
Pocahontas
I loved this movie when I saw it as a kid.  I loved the music, I loved the suspense, I loved Pocahontas.  I only saw it once, unfortunately, so I cannot say that it is one of my top favorites.  I do want to watch it again.
Winnie the Pooh
It's a good movie, faithful to the book, and reading the book will make you enjoy the movie even more.  That's a win!
Cinderella
When the main character is the sweetest of sweethearts, and she catches the prince's attention, which means he could detect that she is one in a million.  You've got excellent taste, dear prince.
Sleeping Beauty
You know why this is above Cinderella?  The music.  The animation.  The fairies.
Dinosaur
I was blown away by the animation when I saw this movie in my youth, but watching it now, it feels like several layers are missing.  The story is compelling, and there is a variety of interesting characters.  The antagonist is so stupid, though.  It's cringe-worthy. He himself is not the problem, it's his stubborn and dogged personality that make it hard to watch the climax.  But overall it's a solid story, well told.
Tarzan
There's absolutely nothing wrong with it: it's one of my favorites.  I only wish the songs were sung by another singer, because I feel they clash with the rest of the movie.  A very personal opinion.
Hercules
You want to know the best part of this movie?  Meg.  And, next, Hades.  They are both why this movie is so high up on the list.
Aladdin
Robin Williams is the absolute best part of this movie.
One Hundred and One Dalmatians
Beautifully animated, and the inspiration for Cruella, which is one of my favorite movies.  Gold star.
The Rescuers
I told you, I love movies about rodents.
The Rescuers Down Under
A rare instance where the sequel was even better.
The Fox and the Hound
That one scene where the lady leaves Todd at the reserve wrecked me completely.  I cannot watch it without crying.  Not a few tears, a deluge.
Bambi
The way this movie depicts forest life using movement, color and music:  heart breaking just like Fox and the Hound, so they're close together on the list because in my mind they have similar themes.
Moana
Anything involving the ocean is awesome in my book.  Except The Little Mermaid, but that is a story about a merfolk who would prefer to be on land.  Um, no.
Raya and the Last Dragon
This movie was compelling to say the least.  And the father-daughter relationship is central to the plot, but every development in the story is thoughtful and the pacing is stellar.  I love it.
Encanto
The close-knit family, the amazing music, and the main character, Mirabel.  Disney, you knocked it out of the park.
Lady and the Tramp
"He's a tramp, but they love him.  Breaks a new heart every day.  He's a tramp.  I adore him.  And I wish that he would travel this way."  Yet this tramp met a lady who he could not ignore, not neglect, he cared about her well-being.  Isn’t that an epic storyline?
The Aristocats
Those kittens: all three are adorable.  Duchess is a quintessential lady, just like her owner.  Thomas is suave and yet he cares.  The geese are just the best.  Let's not forget the lawyer: that scene on the staircase is everything.  Edger is an idiot, but he comes by his just deserts.  And then there's Roquefort, the alley cats, Frou Frou, the two dogs.  Did I forget anybody?  Maurice Chevalier sings to opening title song, and there's a man who pours out his wine after seeing a mouse chase cats.  I think that's everybody.  What synergy this movie has.  NO wonder I love it so much.
Dumbo
I have to confess that stories about mothers and their children speak to me, move me, and reach into my chest and squeeze my heart and its strings.  And Timothy is just such a good friend!
Beauty and the Beast
Our heroine is a bookworm who is misunderstood yet beautiful so she catches the attention of a bully and a misogynist.  She sacrifices her freedom to rescue her father.  She learns that her captor has a heart.  Of all the classic "Disney princess" tales, this one is on another level.
Tangled
This is not just a run-of-the-mill love story.  The love story is amazing, don't get me wrong.  But the story is about a girl who only knows one person, and she thinks this person loves her, and wants what is best for her, but that person only cares about how she can use this girl.  It is the story of escape from an abuser.  It is a must-see Disney movie.
The Emperor's New Groove
Now this was a story where the main character is completely unlikeable in the beginning, and over the course of the movie he changes and progresses and you begin rooting for him, except, it's done right: with humor.  A lot of humor.  No room for cheesiness, the movie mocks itself, and its self-deprecation is refreshing.
Lilo and Stitch
I keep putting certain movies close to one another that have a similar emotional response from me.  Stitch is a monster.  A cute one, but he is destructive and rough.  Lilo is amazing, yet a bit bratty.  And then you find out why.  She and her sister have experienced loss, and they are coping as best they can.  With such a theme, there is nothing trite, the story doesn't gloss over the painful parts.  It is funny yet wise, over the top, yet profound.
Zootopia
A fox and a rabbit: an unlikely duo.  Yet you end up shipping them.  And the point of the story is to remind us that we should not label one another.  A vital lesson to teach our kids.
Wreck-It Ralph
And on the theme of  not judging one another, a supposed "bad guy" befriends a supposed "glitch" and hijinks ensue.  "I'm bad, but that's good, I will never be good, and that's not bad, there is no one I would rather be than me."  Gets me every time.
The Hunchback of Notre Dame
I remember seeing the trailer for this film, and I could not contain my excitement.  I love drama, I love underdogs, I love overcoming prejudice.  I can watch this movie over and over.  It's a masterpiece.
Mulan
A strong female lead: one of my first encounters with this concept.  Again, I remember the trailer.  I wanted to see that movie so badly, and when I did, I was thrilled, hooked, overawed with Mulan and her courage.

okay listen i know this is like my 3rd concept that involves disney but i cant rlly help it😭 i miss my second home😔
no bc the kids have been BEGGING yall to take them to disney world and so you and matt finally buckle down and buy the tickets (but decide to keep it a surprise bc where's the fun in just telling them?)
this is gonna be a prtty long one so be prepared lol
fast forward and now yall are in magic kingdom riding seven dwarfs mine train and eating churros and buying SO many pins and the kids each got a "first visit" button and🥰 UGH AND THEN you go and meet as many characters as possible (including gaston, rapunzel, tiana, pooh, tigger, peter pan, and obvi mickey mouse) and just AAAAH also you obvi stay and watch the fireworks bc duh
no bc then on your hollywood studios day you had secretly booked for matt and percy to build their own lightsabers (at like $200 each yikes but it was worth it bc the LOOK on their faces when you tell them was priceless) and yall basically spend the whole time in galaxy's edge but you also go see beauty and the beast: live on stage and ride slinky dog dash in toy story land and rock n roller coaster🕺
THEN on your epcot day you go all around world showcase (everyone's favorite pavilion was france and/or italy) and you go on soarin' (jackie's new favorite thing) and ride the seas w nemo and friends and see all the sea animals <3
and then on your animal kingdom day the first thing yall do is flight of passage and what's rlly cool ab this is while it is screen heavy, the seats like "breathe" and you can feel it breathing (bc youre riding the back of an animal in the ride) so matt had fun w that one. and obvi yall do the safari bc that's where you'll see the most animals (the giraffes stopping in the middle of the road<3) and you watch the festival of the lion king and then eat the african inspired food afterwords🕺
bonus: youre staying at the contemporary bc 1) it's a 5 minute walk to the magic kingdom and 2) it's the best deluxe resort in my opinion and ive always wanted to stay there
i think that's it for this one? idk if there's more i'll put it in the comments HAHAHAAH
Send in all the Disney concepts you want!!!
You and Matt plan the vacation in the winter time (omg bc I’ve been to Disney in the summer and it is painful. But the one time we went there in the winter it was so nice. And the lines were shorter too).
The fireworks are the best part. You and Matt have Percy and Jackie on your shoulders and they’re lookin up and wowing. And you and Matt are hugging each other and you lean in and kiss him and it’s very cute
The way Percy and Matt were so excited for the lightsabers. Ugh throughout the whole process Matt was like
“Thank you do much, Y/n. I love you so much.”
And Percy was all abt battling his dad but you know he was thankful too.
I don’t think I’ve been to epcot… like maybe once? When I first went to Disney.
Percy most def wanted to climb on top of the giraffes in the animal kingdom. LMAOOO IMAGINE YALL HAD TO BUY THOSE BACKPACK LEASHES 💀
Idk what the contemporary is but it’s sounds and looks nice so yes you all stayed there.
