been trying out a new meal distribution method that works with my fast metabolism (basically i cant eat a lot in one sitting, but i also get hungry faster). it basically consists on eating something every 2-3 hours, even if its something small, like a snack. of course, i still have the three big meals of the day (breakfast, lunch, dinner), but in between them ill also have stuff like cereal bars, yogurt, fruit, juice, chocolate, cheese, and so on.
so far, its working great! i have way more energy throughout the day, even if i didnt drink coffee or tea (i still do, though. caffeine is important for a healthy college student's diet, after all! /j). and something ive noticed that actually surprised me a lot, is that im still hungry for the big meals! even if i have eaten two hours before. i was worried that it would made me less eager to eat (which would be counterintuitive to the whole "eating more" thing), but no! its awesome, i actually feel so much better now :]
#the idea actually came to me when studying animal nutrition and feeding (a subject at college); specifically of dairy cows#cows are really big animals with very efficient digestive systems#capable of processing even the most fiber-rich plants#but because they are used to produce milk and meat they need tons of energy; so they have to eat basically all day#so i thought: hey! i also need tons of energy to study and stuff! but my stomach is very small! i should do like cows do!#and it WORKED#whispers of the dragon
