MinKwon in Interfaith Protest Event at JFK Airport

On February 3rd, MinKwon joined an interfaith Jummah prayer at JFK in solidarity with the Muslim and refugee communities.  This was in response to Mr. Trump’s “travel ban” executive order, and several individuals from Muslim-majority countries had been detained at JFK.

MinKwon in the Love Fights Back! Rally 

On February 14th, Valentine’s Day, MinKwon joined others in the Love Fights Back! Rally.  Braving the cold in Foley Square, we rallied to show ICE and the Trump administration that New York City is an immigrant city and we stand against deportations, walls, and bans.

MinKwon Sees Surge of Immigration-Related Calls

In February, MinKwon’s legal and social services continued to serve the community, with increases seen in immigration-related services and consultations.  Not surprisingly, the actions of the aggressively hostile anti-immigrant federal government resulted in an uptick of consultations for community members anxious regarding immigration laws, as well as an increase in interest in naturalizations.

Also this month, MinKwon’s free tax preparation clinics roared into action, with hundreds expected to receive help before the filing deadline.
