Chat which do we like more, with or without the extra little patches of colors (ignore that the bark edge on the top isn't finished- I'm gonna do it once I've figured put the rest of the bark)

So I figured it’s about time I cover the Creaking and my personal theories about it. Its kinda randomly organised and some of it might be a stretch, but this is creativity game so idc here’s what I think,
I believe that the Creaking is a type of Golem mob, perhaps an early concept.
Basically, this hinges on the fact that we can see Illagers and Ravagers run away from the Creaking the moment they’re in close proximity, possibly meaning there’s some kind of history or relation between them.
I think that, in the early days of the world of Minecraft, the civilisation that would become what we know now as Villagers used to live within the Pale Garden biome, perhaps building structures that were lost to time. It makes sense, it’s a quiet part of the world, the lack of passive mobs could possibly imply that it’s a completely lifeless forest, leading threats such as Illagers to avoid it, as they’d have nothing to gain.
Of course, there are still threats in the Pale Garden when the night comes in, so the Villagers designed a golem, something practically invulnerable to all damage that could protect them from the monsters of the night, this of course is what would later become the Creaking. In my own design if the Creaking, I draw it with a hole in its chest, I believe this is because when they were designed, the heart was exposed in case of maintenance or repairs needed, it could be easily removed or swapped if necessary.
Nothing is safe forever though. Eventually, the Illagers would find out about these hidden homes, perhaps because of groups of Pillager scouts. They’d attack over and over, eventually forcing the Villagers to flee from the Pale Gardens, but during the searching of their homes, the Illagers would encounter the defenders that had been constructed. Almost three metre tall golems, invincible to most of their efforts, they stood no chance, eventually having to escape with only the tale to tell.
Over time, the Creaking would learn to camouflage with their surroundings, blending in with the trees and hiding their hearts amongst them for protection, now left to wander in the dead of night through silent forests, still guarding a civilisation long lost. Rather than disappearing in daytime, I believe that they become one with the trees, or at least shape themselves to appear as one of them.
In general, I think it’s a good idea to use the Creaking as a guardian, they’re immune to fall damage, they can’t drown, immune to lava and all direct attacks, just that physically, they might be a bit weak, so they come in numbers in the forests.
Their descendants, Iron Golems. Immune to fall damage, can’t drown, it’s just that the trade off is less lava and attack immunity, instead making them stronger and only needing to come as a singular guard to each village.
Best guess as to why it attacked the villagers in that one Villager news thingy could be that it’s been generations and they may have forgotten, or maybe that the villagers developing over time may not completely resemble what the Creaking remember.
I know it’s a bit of a stretch based of very limited information about them, but that’s my theory on what the Creaking are and why they exist in the world, I’m open to other ideas or corrections of course, but yeah, I hope y’all enjoy !! Do with that what you will !!

Build idea inspired by where I live: an eternally burning forest. Ashes and firecharges raining down on the player, you notice pockets of forest growing thinner and burned patches growing thicker, then you see the massive trees burning, burning that doesn't stop, burning that covers the forest in black and flame
Just an idea...

I see your ‘Castiel gets to level 800 on Candy Crush’ and I raise you ‘Castiel discovers Minecraft and builds a massive town on his phone’.
It has districts accurate to various cities he’s seen around the world. It is ridiculously well-defended: there are about 100 iron golems and they are all named. There is a functioning rail system that the villagers use to get to and from the town centre. In the forest outside town are of course many beehives, with block recreations of various bee species built nearby.
After discovering redstone he figured out how to make functioning cars drive around, but doesn’t include them in the overworld city because they’re not historically accurate. He made a small modern city on the top layer of the Nether with piglins living in it and that’s where he put the cars.
In the Nether there is a monster zoo/jail. When he discovered command blocks, he made ‘glyphs’ that teleport any monster that stands on them to their respective jail cells.
This was all on Creative, and it took him trying Survival to even be aware of crafting.

Nah nah nah nah nah, you're... well you're speaking to you and you have an absolute point there, but what you're saying totally misses the mark with me
I'm not trying to build to a certain standard and comparing myself to others and giving myself a block because of that, I'm driven by a compulsion to carve a world that doesn't exist yet but almost does as I wrestle with my depression and trouble getting my brain to focus
Like to be blunt, more and more in minecraft if anything I'm arrogant. I'm not even saying I'm good, but I'm saying I look at other people's builds, sometimes even masters like Scar... and I go yeah... but I like how I'd do it better
So no my friend, my problem isn't I need to get more casual, it's that I need to get all these damn ideas out of my head
I need my brain to just texture the stuff I tell it to texture, I need to fight to grow my skills at stuff like exteriors and custom trees so I can bring my ideas to life with the skill they deserve, I need to get all these damn farms up and running so when building I can focus on placing blocks not harvesting stuff
I support the message of not holding yourself to expectations, but that's not what minecraft is about for me. For me it's about getting all these ideas out
Like I wouldn't spend a couple months working on wireless redstone if that's what I needed
I just need the power to create what's in my head
#mm minecraft#very well intentioned video saying not to worry about 'being good' at minecraft and to focus on having fun#which I think is what a lot of people need to hear especially when comparing themselves to youtube videos#but me? I just need to power to finish executing ideas#I need focus... and more and more I'm thinking I just need a way to play from in bed for my bad days#but seriously; I watch people play and I'm just like 'mhh... not how I'd do it' and it's not even cause they're bad#ok; concrete example; XB's guardian farm this season; very impressive#I'm going 'mhh... I'd do a giant caldera instead' which is what I'll do as soon as I can just get myself to finish texturing it#which is the easy part I'm just... always too hungry to focus on it#his is incredible... but... not at all to my tastes#I'm an overly serious ass and his is very fun and cartoony and I hate that shit for me; I want a volcano#but also I've never ever even once seen a guardian farm like I have planned... his is honestly the closest cause he kept the temple#but every farm I see has geometric walls; and I... I like the shape of my caldera; and honestly that's the hardest part#(the second hardest part will be building it)#texturing isn't bad it's just... a fight with my brain and I have a million things to do#but yeah... my problem isn't overly high standards though those do slow me down sometimes cause... it's not right yet#my custom tree over the nether portal has been on pause for like a year cause custom trees are hard; hardest thing I think#I think I like the roots I did but the trunk just... bleh... I think it probably looks too thin#...there's a whole lot I do that I don't know about#but like everything in life (literally) I may hate myself and the way I do things#but I'll take it over how everyone else does things any day

for context: i made my base in a mountain crater filled by a lake with a floating village in the center
said mountains are partially grove biomes, and there's tons of powdered snow near the top around half the parameter
further context: i have a goal to collect all the cats and wolves
i got the wolves first, and had the forethought to breed the striped and spotted ones before reaching the crater Just In Case (good thing, bc the striped adult died after the spotted pushed it off a cliff 😑)
it only took losing not one, not two, but three cats (with one being a black cat i trekked over a thousand blocks for sobs) and a few wolf deaths to freezing to death before i Finally decided to make a tunnel through my mountain in all four cardinal directions 🫠
i mean, now i can easily grab my horse and run through to the other side but UGHHHH
the only one i'm missing now is the white cat - which i've Technically already gotten so the achievement did pop, but it died on the way home, so need to watch for another one)

It's been a minute since we've seen this project P: Somewhere along the line of adding/removing/updating various mods this area lost the blue/purple grass of the forgotten forest biome? Very sad. HOWEVER I discovered this awesome rainbow block from regions unexplored and I fell in love. It so loud and I love it so much. The point of this mountain was to be like. Mysterious/fantasy/etc. Obv I've done next to no terraforming on the bottom I just wanted to see what it would like, I do like the upper part better with the trees and other small plants. Some details will tone down the intensity but I quite like the vibe.
