Mini Fanfic #1273: Comforting a Friend Through the Strom (Sonic X Crash X SSBU)
5:45 p.m. at Tails' House: The Workshop...........
Coco: Okay! (Wiring Up the Finishing Touches to the Latest Invention Her and Tails Has Been Working) It just need a little bolt tightening over here.....some wiring connections over there.....A tiny bit of chip modification on side annnnnnnd- (Closes the Back Case of the Invention Shut Before Happily Presenting It) Viola!~ Our custom made Mini-Snowcone Machine Maker 3000 is now ready for usage, once we buy a bag of ice that is.
Tails: (Smiles at his and Coco's Invention) You know, I never understood why we didn't thought of doing this sooner. It's way too fun of an project too pass up.
Coco: (Casually Shrugs) Hey, better late than never, am I right? (Eyes Begins to Sparkle in Excitement) Just imagine all the snowcone we get to eat in the comforts of your own home for free?~
Tails: (Raises an Eyebrow in a Bit of Confusion) You want me keep the machine here?
Coco: Yeah, I trust you with it a lot more than I trust myself. My sweet tooth has been on a bit of the hectic side these days. (Let's Out a Single Chuckle)
Tails: (Simply Shrugs) If you're certain. (Grabs his Chin While Thinking) But you know, now that Spring Break is gonna be coming around the horizon, maybe we could go around and sell each cone to at the locals at the beach.
Coco: (Happily Nodded to Tails' Idea) Yeah, we can potentially make so much money off of that, more then enough to buy all the newest games that's coming out this year, ticket to the new Loony Tunes Movie-(Suddenly Let's Out a Gasps Before Grabbing onto Tails' Shoulders, Staring at Him With Gleaming Sparkles in Bith her Eyes) Tails, we can finally buy the pieces we need to create our own lightsabers!~
Tails: (Eyes Widens and Sparkles in Pure Excitement) You're right!~ You've already gotten the certain crystals needed for this project, right?
Coco: (Puts on a Accomplished Grin on her Face) You know it~ (Opens and Shows Tails a Small Box Containing Four Small, Different Colored Crystals Inside) All in these delectable colors~ Dibs on green!
Tails: I want blue! You think we should make Wave a purple one?
Coco: If she wants one, sure. Then it's settled.
Tails: Operation Snowcone Business is now in progress!
Tails/Coco: (Shares a High Five Together) YEAH!
'Rumble Rumble RUMBLE'
Coco: (Looks Around the Room) Sheesh.....The storm really isn't pulling any punches this time around, huh?
As she turns back to her best friend, a frown of begins to appear on Coco's face as she sees his eyes widened up in pure silence and from the looks of it, fear.
Tails: ...................
Coco: (Starts Getting Worried) Tails?
Tails: (Immediately Comes Back to his Senses) Huh!? Oh, uh....('Clears Throat') S-Sorry. You said something just now?
Coco: I was just talking about how strong the storm gotten out there. Buddy, are you feeling okay?
Tails: (Rapidly Nodding his Head With a Sheepish, Nervous Looking Smile on his Face) Y-Yeah, of course I'm okay! Why would i be?
Coco: Well, other than the five second long pause of a silence, you look like you've just got out from seeing a wicked horror movie-(Suddenly Gets Startled by Another Sound of the Thunderstorm Outside)
'Crackle Crackle CRACKLE'
Coco: (Eyes Begins to Widened a Bit as She Sees Tails Shivering in Fear) And now you're shaking like a leaf! (Walks Over to her Best Friend Before Gently Placing her Habd Onto his Shoulder) Tails, be honest with me. Are you scared of the thunderstorm?
Tails: W-W-Who? (Shakingly Points at Himself) M-Me? Scared of a little thunderstorm outside? (Chuckling Very Awkwardly) T-That's crazy! I-I would nev-(Stares at the Worried Look on Coco's Face Before Sighing in Defeat) Okay, you got me. I am afraid. (Quickly Gives Coco a Nervous, Reassuring Smile on his Face) B-But don't worry! I'll get over it in no time.
Coco: Are you sure?
Tails: Positive! I'm mean...Sure, the lightning is quick enough to strike down and try to &it someone out of nowhere and the storm itself can be loud at times-
' BangBANG BANG'
Tails: (Hops While Getting Startled by the Sudden Banging Sound of the Thunderstorm) Ah! (Starts Shaking Some More Once He Hears the Storm Crackling) A-A-Add that with the ominous crackling and rumbling midway through it's runtime which equals that to a start of any horror film!
Tails claps both of his cheek bones before taking a deep breath, helping to become more relaxed and clear mindset.
Tails: But it'll be fine. It has to be. I have already faced WAY too many scary encounters and near death experiences since I was five-to-six years old! I got this, I can get through this, i have what it takes, I CAN DO TH-
'BANG BANG BOOOOOOOM'
The loud, roaring sound of the storm outdoors was more than enough to not only make the two tailed fox rush himself over to hug Coco, screaming his lungs out in the process, but also powerful enough to make the workshop and all of the other rooms in his house to go complete dark.
Coco: And there's the power outage. I was wondering when that would come around. (Has Her Eyes Turn to Tails') But hey, at least we still have each other to keep each other company, am I right?
Tails: I don't got this.......
Coco: Tails?
Tails: (Eyes Slowly Starts to Widened in Horror to What Had Just Happened) I can never get through this.......I don't have what it takes to get through it after all......
Coco: Hey, buddy, Let's just calm down for a second and-
Tails; (Slowly Shakes his Head) No matter how old I get.....Or how much I've grown......I won't ever get over this......I can't do this, I can't do this, I can't do this....('Sniff')
Coco: (Notices the Tears Swelling Up in Tails' Eyes) Tails?
Tails: I CAN'T DO THIS!
Without hesitation, Tails tries to make a run for it, but suddenly tripping himself down before getting back up on his feet and quickly exits himself out the room, tripping himself down again on the way.
Coco: Tails! Wait! (Runs Out the Room to Follow Tails) You shouldn't run around in a-Oof! (Suddenly Trips Down on the Floor as Well)
'Thud'
Coco: (Groans While Getting Herself Back Up) Heavily dark room. (Takes her Phone Out if her Pocket to Turn on the Flashlight Feature) Boy, what I'll give to have the lights back on ri-
The lights in the house turns back on.
Coco: Oh there it is. (Starts Walking and Looking Around the Room For her Best Friend) Taiiils!! Where did you ran ran off to, buddy?
Tails: (In the Distance) ('Sniff') In here......
As the feint voce reached her eardrums, Coco makes her way to the closest source it had came from, the bathroom. Upon pulling an already half opened door wide open, she sees Tails sitting alone in his bathtub, hugging his together, scared and sad. Ir was more than enough to make the bandicoot's heart break in two.
Coco: (Takes a Deep Breath Before Slowly Sliding her Head Up by the Side of the Bathroom's Doorway) Hey, buddy. How are you holding up in there?
Tails: ('Sigh Heavily') Not as great as I hoped.....Definitely didn't help when I tripped too many times.
Coco: (Lightly Pouts at Tails) I told you running in a dark wasn't a good idea. You should listen to your Professor Bandicoot more often, mister.
Tails: (Snickers a Bit) Professor Bandicoot?
Coco: (Happily Nodded) Yep. Figured I wanna call myself that when I grow up to become a semi famous scientist and technician. You like?~
Tails: (Smiles a Little Bit) Yeah. I like a lot.....Can you sit with me in here for a while?
Coco: (Smiles Brightly) Thought you never asked Make room for your future professor!~
Coco walks into the bathroom and sit next to Tails in the tub as the two share a bit of laughter with one another.
Coco: I never thought I would ever compliment anyone's bathroom in my whole lifetime before, but I really like how you cleaned up the place.
Tails: Thanks. There's hardly a day where I ever got it slightly dir-
'CRACKLE BANGBang Bang'
Tails: Ahhh! (Gets Startled bybthe Sudden Loud Sound of the Thunderstorm Before Holding onto Coco Next to Him to Dear Life and Shaking Once More)
Coco: (Starts Feeling Bad and Worried For her Best Friend Again) Oh Tails....
Tails: S-Sorry i didn't mean to freak out like that....O-Or leave you in the dark alone earlie-
Coco: Hey, hey. (Hugs Tails Back) It's okay. No apologies need. What really matters right now is that we're both in here together, safe and sound. You get me?
Tails: Yeah.......(Starts Snuggling Into Coco's Embrace a Tiny Bit) I do. Thanks.
'A Bit of Silence and the Sound of the Rain Pouring Down Outside'
Coco: So you've been terrified of thunderstorm throughout your whole life now, huh?
Tails: Unfortunately.....
Coco: When did it all started? I-If you don't mind me asking.
Tails: (Takes a Deep Breath Before Explaining) It all started back in Knothole when I was five or six. I was waiting for Sonic and our old team, the Freedom Fighters, to come back from their mission for so long that I decided head off to the forest alone to look for them. I wandered around without any care or worry in the world until I saw the clouds in the skies turn pitch black and the sound of the storm itself started to get louder and louder every step i take. It became too much to bear after a while, so I started running back to the hideout as fast as i could with my ears completely covered. But then, a lightning struck down before my very eyes.
Coco: (Eyes Widened in Complete Shock amd Horror) My god......Did it hit you!?
Tails: ('Sighs in Pure Relief') No, thankfully. I stopped dead on my tracks once I saw it near. But it did made me scared enough to shake and fall down to my knees. I ended up bawling my eyes out until the others were able to find me shortly after, thus started my crippling fear of thunderstorms for years to come. (Looks Down on the Tidel Floors Below Him and Coco in a Somber Like Fashion) So much for finally getting past that stage in my life thrse days, huh?
Coco: It does take a pretty long time for anyone to conquer their fears completely.
Tails: That's true. (Pouts a Bit) It sucks though......
Coco: (Snuggles onto Tails' Embrace) I know, buddy, it's the worse!~ I have a crippling fear of my own believe it or not.
Tails: (Turns Back to Coco with a Genuine Surprise Look) Really? What were you scared of?
Coco: Clowns. (Shivers in Discomfort) It's been the bane of my existence since the day Crash and I went to the circus growing up. The memory of most of the show itself is vague, but I do remember two clowns jumpscaring me so bad that I ended up hightailing myself outta the show without looking back. (Rolls her Eyes in Annoyance) If that wasn't bad enough, Cortex kidnapped me that one time and forced me to watch a scary clown movie for three straight hours until Crash arrived time some time later to kick his butt and save me! Thanks to him, my fear of them practically reignited immensely since then.
Tails: (Almost at a Loss For Words) Wow. II'm sorry you had to go through that, Coco......
Coco: (Gives Tails a Reassuring Smile on her Face) Nah, it's fine. (Playfully Whispers into Tails' Ear) I've managed to get him back by prank calling his old acedemy teacher to come over his lair and torment him with her teachings for six whole months~
Tails: (Snickers a Bit While Giving Coco a Fist Bump) Nice~ You really think I have what it takes to conquer my fears one of these days.
Coco: (Smiles Brightly) Of course! It's a long, bumpy road ahead, but I know you'll reach the end goal eventually. I'll do whatever i can you help you through this from out on there. (Playfully Smirk) And as your soon to be appointed professor, I'm afraid I will not take "No" from an answer by the way~
Tails: (Giggles Softly) I wasn't even expecting you too!~
Coco: (Giggles as Well) There's that cute smile of yours!~ And here I thought I would never see it again.
Tails: (Smiles Softly) Well, it's all thanks to you being in this tub here with me. I honestly don't know what I would've done otherwise.
Coco: (Happily Lays her Head onto her Vest Friend's Shoulder) Well, it's a good thing we'll never find out then. I'll always have your back, Tails.
Tails: (Happily Lays his Head on Top of Coco's) I'll always have yours too, Coco.
'Doorbell Ring'
'Knock Knock Knock Knock Knock'
Coco: (Noticing the Sounds of the Doorbell Ring and the Knocking on the Front Door) Who in the heck outside your door in the middle of a storm?
Tails: (Finally Gets Himself Up) Probably Sonic and/or Amy. They would always come by and check up on me whenever the storm comes around-
'Rumble Rumble Rumble Rumble'
Coco: (Looks Up at Tails as She Feels hid Habd Shaking More Lightly Than Previously) You gonna be okay answering that door?
Tails: Y-Yeah, I think so, but....Do you mind coming along with me just in case?
Coco: (Smiles Brightly Again) Not at all.
The Tech Duo walk out of the bathroom and straight to the front door together, holding hands.
Coco: We're almost there, buddy. Just a few more steps closer.
Tails: (Simply Nodded) Right. (Turns to Covo) You ever thought about being a life coach some day in the future as wel? You'd be really good at it.
Coco: Why, thank you~ But I don't wanna coach a million other people in this globe. Just you. (Gives Tails a Kiss on the Cheek)
Tails opens the door in front of him as he is now greeted to two very familiar and very loving faces-
Sonic/Amy: TAILS!!~ (Rushes Over and Hug Their Little Boy Genius Together) Bout time you got here!/Ohhh I'm so happy you're okay!!~
Tails: (Giggles a Bit Ticklishly by the Group Hug He's Receiving) Hi, guys~ (Notices How Drenched the Couple Look, Sonic Especially) Did you guys ran here in the middle of the rain?
Amy: (Happily Nodded) Indeed we did. Had to ditch our Resistance Meeting early and everything. ('Sigh') I can already hear Knuckles yelling in the distance now.....
Sonic: And I fell in a pond.
Amy: (Rolls her Eyes with a Teasing Smirk on her Face) A very small pond. (Playfully Pulls Sonic's Wet Cheek) Poor thing was screaming out for help for two straight minutes that I had to carrying him all the way to the house in my arms~
Tails and Coco begins snickering at the Blue Blur's expense as he bashfully gkares at his girlfriend..
Sonic: Dangit Ames, they didn't need to know all of that! (Turbs Away While Blushing) And besides, the bottom of that pond could've been deep for all we know......
Amy: Honey, you can stand on that pond just fine without drowning.
Sonic: Yeah, well......That would've been good to know two minutes ago, just saying!
Amy: (Giggles Softly) Just dry yourself off already, will ya? And grab me a towel while you're at it too!
Sonic: ('Sigh') Yeah, yeah.... (Turns to his Lil Bro) You know where you keep your towels, lil bud?
Tails: (Points Sonic to Where the Town's Are) Right in that closet facing in front of the bathroom door.
Sonic: (Walks Over to the Closest in Question) Thank you
Amy: Okay, now with that out of the way- (Turns to Tails with a Worried Frown on her Face) How are you feelinhlg now, sweetie? That storm didn't scare you too badly, did it?
Tails: (Gives Amy a Reassuring Smile on his Face) It did for a little while- (Wraps his Arm Around Coco's Shoulders) But Coco helped me get through it.
Coco: (Heart Begins to Melt as She Rest her Head onto her Vest Friend's Shoulder Again) And I'll be more than happy to do it again when the opportunity arises.
Amy: (So cuuute!~) ('Sighs in Relief') That's very good to hear to say the least. (Smiles Softly at Coco) Thank you so much for looking after our Baby Fox this whole time, Coco.
Coco: (Starts Snickering at Tails' Dispense) Baby Fox~
Tails: (Facepalms Himself in Slight Embarrassment) Amy, I thought I told you to never call me that.....
Amy: (Hugs Tails While Pouting at Him) And I thought I told YOOOOU that won't ever stop because that what you are and forever will be to me~ (Starts Kissing Tails' Cheek)
Tails: Amyyyy! Not in front of Coco!
Coco: (Sighs Happily as She Pulls Up her Phone) Such a good day to have my phone with me today~
Tails: Don't you EVEN!
????: Dangit. I knew I forgot something when I left the lab.
The trio eyes begins to widened at the sight of familiar face standing outside of the door way.
Trio: Wave!?
Wave: (Casually Holds a Finger Up to Greet The Trio) Yo. Wasn't expecting me here now, did you?
Tails: (Genuinely Surprised) Not at all. What brings you out here?
Wave: (Walks into the House) To check up on you. Coco texted me about your little thunderstorm problem. (Rolls her Eyes) Would've been here a lot sooner if it weren't for Storm holding me up with some slideshow about that stupid magic carpet he's still crying over. So sorry abo-
Tails: (Happily Rushes Over and Hugs Wave) No. Don't apologize. You being here at all makes me happy enough as it is. Thank you.
Wave: (Taken Aback by Tails' Sudden Hug Before Smiling Softly While Gently Ruffling the Top of his Head) Don't mention it, Shorty.
??????: We've reached our destination, my dear crocodile~
The gang then turn their attention to Vanilla, dressed in black leather helping a slightly dizzy Vector get off of her motorcycle along with her.
Vector: ('Sighs Heavily') At long last.....Dunno why I keep forgetting how fast you drive that Bianca of yours.
Vanilla: I'm really sorry about that, honey. I wanted to arrive here before the rain starts falling down hard again.
Vector: (Gives his Wife a Reassuring Smile on his Face) Nah, it's fine. I'm just being an overly cautious nerd that was growing up.
Vanilla: Maybe so. (Gently Grab Hold of Vector's Hands While Looking Up at him Lovingly) But you'll always to the handsome nerd I fall madly in love with~
Vector: (Gently Squeezes Vanilla's Hands While Giving her the Similar Gesture) And you'll always be the most beautiful rebel I'll forever adore~
Vanilla: Oh Vector-Kins~ (Leans Herself Over to Give her Husband a Kiss on the Lips)
Ladies: Awwwwwwwwww!~
Tails: (Chuckles Lightly at the Nerd and Rebel in Question) I'm glad to see you two make it here safe
Vector/Vanilla: (Cease Their Kissing For Now and Quicky Turn Their Attention to Their Nephew) Tails!
Vector: (Walks Over to Tails and Co. With Vanilla Alongside Him) Didn't mean to drop by unannounced like that.
Vanilla: (Pulls Tails into a Very Loving Hug) We heard about your fears of thunderstorms from a text and just had to see if you're okay!~
Gang turns to at Coco for an explanation.
Coco: Hey, don't look at me. I don't have their numbers.
Tails: If you didn't texted them, then- (Eyes Begins to Widened at the Possible Answer) Could it be?~
??????: YEEEE-HAAAAAW!~
The ever-growing group then turn their attention to another biker driving their towards Tails' front yard before creating the most slickest looking (Akira).drift towards the sidewalk and successfully park it right next to Vanilla's motorcycle. As she hopes off her ride, the bike takes off her helmet and slowly shakes her head from side to side, revealing herself to be the one and only Bunnie Rabbot.
Bunnie: Sweet-Doggy!~ Now that what I call a perfect parallel parkin'!
Wave: (Stuck in Awe at What She and the Others Had Just Witnessed) You are giving a whole lot of bikers in this town a run for their money right now......
Vanilla: (Gives her Younger Cousin a Motherly Glare) Bunnie Anne Marie Rabbit, what did I say about making does dangerous drifts in the middle of the road?
Bunnie: (Makes her Way to the Front Porch) Oh, don't you get those bunny ears of yours in a twist now, big cousin. There were hardly anyone in the road by the time I got to thus side of the city. (Happily Extends her Arms Open) Now where can I find a two tailed cutie in this mighty find establishment?~
Tails: (Happily Reveals Himself to His Second Auntie) Here I am, Aunt Bunnie!~ (Gives Bunnie a Loving Hug) I can't believe you guys went out of your way to check up on me, thank you!~
Bunnie: Aw shucks, sugah~ (Picks Tails Up and Give Him a Proper Hug in her Arms) You know we would do anything in our power to make sure our sweet Baby Fox is safe n' sound~
Tails: (Let's Out an Annoyed Sounding Sigh) Can we put the dumb nickname to rest already?
Bunnie: (Let's Out a Loud Gasps Before Giambi her Baby Fox a Motherly Glare of her Own) Miles Tails Acorn Rabbot Prower, you take that back right now! Your Auntie Sally and I gave you that nickname since the day we first raised you and I refuse to stop callin' you that now~ (Starts Kissing One Side of Tails Cheeks)
Vanilla: Oh! That reminds me, the rain started to pour down hard in our area, so we couldn't bring our kids here with us. But i promise Cream that I would to give you this on her behalf. Come to Auntie Vanilly~ (Joins in on the Hugfest and Starts Kissing the Other Side of The Cheek)
Bunnie: Atta girl, cuz!~ Show those Cheeks some love~ (Continues Kissing her Nephew's Cheek)
Tails: (Sighing and Blushing in Embarrassment).I thought this was a storm day, not "Give Tails Lots of Kisses Day".
Coco: (Smiles Brightly) That already sounds like the best holiday ever~
Wave: (Already Smirking) And a funny one at that.
Tails: Don't make this an actual thing!
Amy: (Happily Raises her Hand) All in favor in making it a holiday say "Aye"!~
Ladies: (Raises Their Hands Up Along with Amy) AYE!~
Vector: (Playfully Shrugs at his Nephew) Sorry, kid. The ladies has spoken.
Tails: Dangit!
Sonic: (Walks Out of The Bathroom Wearing a Bath Robe and a Towel Wrapped on his Head) What holiday we talking about again?
Coco: (Turns to Sonic) The day we give Tails lots of kisses~
Sonic: Ooh~ (Smirks at Tails While Giving Him Two Finger Guns) Lucky you, little buddy~
Tails: Don't start!
A giant suddenly appears in the middle of the living room floor as yet another familiar face walks outside of it.
?????: (Happily Greets Everyone Present) Hello!
Everyone: Mario!~
Tails: You and Momma Peach are here to visit me too?
Mario: (Happily Nodded) In we are. We would be here a lot sooner, but.....
Peach: (Walks Out of the Giant Ring While Wavong Hello to Tails with a Pot in her Hand) Hi, sweetie!!~ Are you doing okay in here? That nasty storm didn't scare you too badly, did it?
Tails: It did at first....(Looks Around the Room Filled with his Fanily and Friends Before Turning Back to his Princess Mom with a Smile) But I'm doing great now that all of you are in here with me.
Ladies: AWWWWWWWWWW!~
Bunnie: (Wiping the Tears Off her Face) ('Sniff') Our Baby Fox's still sweet as honey~
Peach: (Already in Tears) I knoooow!~ ('Sniff') He's the sweetest in the worrrrld!~ (Blows her Nose on a Pink Napkin Mario Holding Up For Her Before Smiling Down at Him) Thanks, honey bun~
Mario: (Smiles Back at his Princess) You're always welcome, my dear~ (Gives Peach a Peck on the Lips)
Coco: Hey, Momma Peach, get this- (Wraps her Arm Around Tails' Shoulders) Today's the new holiday where we give your Baby Fox here a lot of kisses!~ (Gives Tails Another Kiss onnthe Cheek)
Tails: (Blushes While Rolling his Eyes) Tell everyone about my made up holiday why don't you.....
Peach: (Smiles Brightly) I love it already!~ Your sister and I will come over and kiss you right away Tails. Just as soon as we get everything prepared for suffer first. Come along, Hat Kid!~ (Makes her Way Over to the Kitchen)
Hat Kid: (Jogs Her Way Out of the Giant Ring While a Three Stacks of Containers of Foos in her Hands) Hup-Hup-Hup-Hup-Hup-Hup-Hup!
Sonic: (Sighs While Pinching the Bridge of his Nose) Oh God. She been stress-cooking this whole time, wasn't it?
Mario: Yep. Worrying about you kids 24/7 could do that to a mother like her. That and fainting. (Smiles Brightly) But hey, at least she made lots of spaghetti for tonight!~
Coco; ('Mmm~') That sounds like a pretty rad dinner to have after the storm if I do say so myself.
Tails: (Happily Nodded in Agreement) Yeah. I couldn't agree more.
Bonus
Shadow teleports himself in front of Tails' house.
Shadow: (So this is Tails house.....It's bigger than I expected.)
?????: Hey there, stranger!~
Shadow: Hm? (Turns his Head to See Sally Park her Motorcycle Behind Bunnie Before Hopping of It)
Sally: (Smiles Brightly aa She Approaches Shadow) Fancy seeing you in this side of town~
Shadow: (Simply Bows His Head at Sally) Your highness.
Sally: Oh stop with formalities already. We've long been since passed that point in our new found relationship. Just call me Sally for now on, okay?
Shadow: (Nodded to this Request) Right. ('Clears Throat') Sally. You are....(Turns Away a Bit) Looking......(Blushing a Bit) Rather...... Prettier than usual today.
Sally: (Heart Begins to Flutter by Shadow's First Attempt at Complimenting Her) Well, aren't you as sweet as a honeybee?~ (Walks Over to Shadow Face with a Teasing Smirk on her Face) Since we're doing the complimentaries out here, then allow me to say that you are looking quite handsome these days~
Shadow: (Looks Away From Sally Again) ('Hmph') I see. (Slowly Turns Back to her) Thanks.....
Sally: (Giggles Softly) You're welcome~ So what brings you out here in the light rainy afternoon?
Shadow: I'm here to visit Tails. Kept receiving calls from my family to do so while I was at work today. I take it you're here to do the same?
Sally: (Happily Nodded) Yep. My poor baby has been terrified of storms for a long time now, so when Bunnie and I saw the news of one happening around this area earlier, we dropped everything and drove straight here. Aunties' Tuitions or what have you. (Starts Sniffing Out the Smell That's Coming From Inside the House) Is that spaghetti being cooked in there?
Shadow: (Simply Nodded) Seems like it. ('Sigh') But knowing my mother, all this worrying about Tails had made her stress cooking again.
Sally: I don't blame her. I'd try abd do the same if it was in her shoes.
Shadow: (Turns to Sally) You can cook?
Sally: I can....('Sigh') But I suck at it for the most part.
??????: Heyyyyy!
The duo turns to see Bunnie Standing Beside the Open Door.
Bunnie: What y'all lovebirds doin' over there? The food gonna get cold!
Sally/Shadow: Coming!
Sally: (Wraps her Arm Around Shadow's) Shall we go inside, my handsome escort?~
Shadow: (Raises an Eyebrow at Sally) I thought you said no formalities.
Sally: I did. But there's no harm in playing around a Bit, you know?~ (Forms a Cheeky Grin on her Face)
Shadow: ('Sigh') If you say so. Let's go. (Walks to the Front Together with Sally) And don't worry about making a grand impression on my parents and sister. There's a 99% chance that they'll like you just by taking one look at you.
Sally: (Giggles Softly) Well, that's very good know!~ (Rest her Head onto Shadow's Shoulder) Thanks for the heads up~
Shadow: No problem.

More long long work blather, because whatever, you get cuts.
So the storage situation, her over-ordering things, AND there being too many kinds of things is getting irritating. It's like trying to organize my basement.

So, here's the current layout, not at all to scale.
Green are shelves of stuff, both food and non-food though mostly food. I won't bore you with how it's all set up. The organization there by category is satisfying enough, but there's too much product, too varied product, and it's sloppy. There should be a little more green surrounding the bull pit and there are more short green ones in front of the bull pit, but it's already fussy.
Nothing more can be put in front of the bull pit because there are glass cases there with the pipes and things. I forgot to put it, but there's another locked case by freezer 3 with more pipes and things.
Blue are coolers. I missed the micro fridge that's near 7, and there's a small hand sink in there, too.
1 was non-alocholic drinks but she moved some of the alcoholic drinks into that cooler last week, which I think was a bad idea. A better solution to there being too much stuff in the beer cave would be to order less stuff.
2 is "the beer cave" which customers are allowed to go into, though they shouldn't be because everything is crammed in there really sloppy and there's a risk of customers knocking stuff over onto themselves and getting hurt. That's how big multipacks of beer are made available to customers, though now many of them are in the lower parts of the original beer cave doors.
3 is the freezer with the deli meat stuff in it. Since it opens from the top, the wall space there is not being used.
4 is the ice machine which customers should not touch, and 5 is the bags of ice customers can take.
6 is another top-loading freezer with ice cream in it.
7 is both a standing cooler with stuff like lunchables and pre-packed sandwiches in it, and then a long cooler that runs under the countertop which is where deli sandwiches are.
The big, unmarked rectangles and stuff across the front of the store are counter tops where the soda, coffee, slushies, and hot food are, the atm, and the lottery machine.
Yellow are storage. All of the sodas and deli stuff get put into the cooler (1), nothing is organized, and nothing is easy to get to. Returns and damaged product are also in there.
Beer cave is also cold storage, but only beer and things like hard lemonade go in there.
O is the office, and the grey rectangle near O is the big sink. There are lots of other machines in there like the water heater and soda fountain syrup set up, etc., and then one small shelf for supplies like trash bags, ice bags, etc.
B is the bathroom. ? is probably another bathroom but I don't actually know. Maybe it's already being used as storage but I've never been in there to get anything so it's probably just an unused bathroom.
-
So, if I had the money and the go ahead to do whatever I wanted with the store.....
tl:dr I would have less shit on the sales floor and a lot more dry storage, a less is more set up.

First I would reduce the variety of things we have. That seems counterintuitive when you're considering customers might want all those things. They do, sometimes, but there's no room. Something has to give.
We would actually monitor which flavors of, say, bagged mini donuts actually sell and which really don't, and only order the big sellers, for example. That would disappoint a few customers, but they'd be ok.
I'd put all the alcoholic beverages back in one area (2) and order less.
I would gut the ?bathroom, remove the door and wall to improve air flow, and move the ice maker and deli freezer in there. If there's room, I'd also add a small counter space and a sink so that deli sandwiches were made THERE instead of on a tiny 6in by 1ft shelf on the mini fridge in the bull pit because that's annoying. The top of the mini fridge is angled because there's a lift-up door. It's hard to work, there, and customers constantly interrupt so whomever is making sandwiches should be left alone. Under the counter space I'd add a mini fridge or two to keep the cheese in, and wall shelves for the deli bread. Keep it all together and not cause condensation in the bread bags.
Having a dedicated sandwich making place would also make it easier to keep that space CLEAN because there wouldn't be people coming in and out all of the time and that area isn't exposed to customers at all.
Considering we're only actually using half the deli freezer as it is and the other half is full of ice build up and product that is unsellable, it could be replaced with a smaller one, maybe a proper deep-freeze with a lift-up door that seals better and can also be used as work space if needed.
_Those bathrooms may be larger or smaller than I think they are. I've never been in either room, and B and ? could be swapped, I don't really care which is the bathroom.
I'd rearrange the sales floor a lot and build another wall, turning a segment of the store space (which in reality wouldn't be that big.... this is not to scale like I said) into dry storage space and add an employees only sign to that door because people will come in and beeline for that hallway assuming that's where the public bathroom is.
The angled door makes sure we can still see into that corner, and that is where I would put big things that are difficult to steal anyway, like the firewood and bags of ice.
I'd also add a saloon door with an employees only sign to the other hallway because they do the same thing over there and I have to chase them down, and omit the yellow storage behind there completely since that's the path service people like plumbers would have to take if there were a problem with the sink or water heater, etc. and should be clear, or at least I'd instead put some shallow shelving that's meant for only small dry goods like the snack cakes, or store supplies. Right now it's head-high stacks of tallboy cans and it makes me nervous.
Lots of dry storage would let us have better looking, more organized shelves on the floor because it wouldn't need to be severely overstuffed just to get product out of boxes that also are left all around the sales floor.
I'd reduce the wine from 4 rows to 1. They're just... Not selling. I mean, a few are or else I wouldn't be constantly refilling those few, and with good inventory management and sales tracking, we'd only buy those.
I'd omit the big locked case that was by freezer 3 completely. I've only gotten into that case one time, and have only ever seen another employee need to get in there one time. Maybe it's more busy at other times, I don't know.
We have too many varieties of vapes, CBD, Kratom, etc. products. One locked case, the countertop displays that only open from the register side, and the "showcases" should be sufficient. Since those don't scan, there's no good inventory or sales tracking, and with good sales tracking, only what sells would be ordered.
Notice a trend?
Then I'd use the wall where the freezer was for light bags like candy up to eye level, small snacks, etc. with some shallow shelves lower down for various sweet food products like cookies, and put the toys in a bin on the ground level where kids can see them instead of up on the top.
I'd get rid of some of the hot food machines because they're barely used. There's a hot dog roller that I've only seen food in once, a popcorn machine that's never had popcorn in it, a pizza spinner thing that I have sold a couple slices from but we could just not, a giant pretzel spinner but you can't have those pretzels, you have to ask for them out of the cold food case where the deli sandwiches are and they're pre-packed, so we could just put a mini cold case out there with the pretzels in it, or put a big countertop one and put some of the deli stuff in it, OR use that space for room-temp pastries and local stuff so we could clear off a little of the counter around the bullpit which would give us more working space and a much better view of the store.
Manager tends to do computer work sitting on one chair with the laptop on another chair, hiding behind the tall cigarette case in the center of the bull pit and the tops of the showcases are also glass so we can't put anything heavy there, which means not being able to do a lot of work, there.
......
I would put a fridge case out back where expiring product could be placed for people to come take for free.
There's probably more stuff that I'm forgetting, but I'm getting hungry and do tend to lose focus when I'm hungry.

Christmas special: Some gift ideas
Hello, Athe here!
I've been thinking a lot about some small gifts that I think would be perfect for the characters. Sort of like Christmas ideas for small budgets. I've tried to find some visual references and give some context for those who don't know the characters that well. It would be interesting to see what you guys would come up with, especially, for your own OCs… I'm going to leave a blank template below for anyone who wants to add some more or create their own OC version. We will reblog all your suggestions, you can also leave them in our ask which is always open. Happy holidays!
Arael
Protective console case or gaming case: You can't go wrong with anything related to video games, especially if it's something with a cute aesthetic. Arael can't resist that kind of thing.
Ice cream maker: No more endless queues in the canteen. Arael will be able to make his own personalised ice cream with one of these machines.
Kigurumi: A warm pyjama to spend their hours in front of the computer playing or in your company.
Zihel
Fire extinguisher: It goes without saying why it's a good idea for Zihel to have a fire extinguisher on hand.
Some new clothes: The truth is that his clothes are outdated and quite torn. You would do him a favour by buying him something even if he won't thank you directly. Besides, he will accept any style you want to put on him without putting up too much of a fuss.
Survival kit: Zihel has always been interested in everything related to hunting and survival. He'll surely appreciate a kit with everything he needs for an adventurous weekend (or another kind of weekend…).
Kyeran
Original teapot or tea set: Kyeran really enjoys drinking hot tea, so he would love a tea set. If you take the opportunity to give it a personalised touch in keeping with his style of decoration, you will make him very happy.
Portable hammock: You never know when you'll want to rest during a desert trek. A portable hammock can be ideal for him, but also for you to share a romantic moment.
Emotional support dolls: Anything you've made by hand will be highly valued, but these cute little dolls with motivational phrases will lift anyone's spirits.
Joe
Portable charger: Don't ever catch Joe without a charge on one of her many devices. Without them Joe could go crazy and you will probably be her target.
Pyjamas or satin pillowcase: Inexpensive options to recreate a luxurious experience. Either is a good choice. Joe loves to feel pampered.
Massage oil: It's likely that with this you can both participate.
Opal
Handmade candles: Since Opal discovered that he has a good sense of smell, he has also found that the smells of scented candles relax him a lot. It is easy for him to get stressed or irritable, but candles help him to calm his nerves.
Watchmaking tools: Opal has started a new trade and is comfortable repairing and making wind-up watches. But he often loses his tools or they break. A new kit is always welcome.
Work apron: Another thing he has recently discovered is that he enjoys working with the soil and could do with a work apron to keep all his gardening tools in.
Ariel
Poker cards with famous musicians: He likes to play card games, especially if gambling is involved. If you buy him some personalised cards like these, you can be sure he'll always have them with him.
Special edition vinyls: Any music fan would love something like this. You can't go wrong with an original edition of one of your favourite bands.
Skull-shaped ice bucket or whiskey set: There are quite a few objects in this shape in Ariel's house. We thought he might like something to do with alcohol.
Akane
Pizza oven: Akane is a ramen and pizza fanatic. This time, we thought it might be nice to have a mini oven so that her pizzas are always perfect.
Car bin: Everyone knows that Akane loves driving, but not so much tidiness and cleanliness. Help her to keep it all tidy with this mini-trash bin for the car.
Exercise dice: She loves sport. We suggest you give her something more original than a pair of trainers or a bottle of water with a dice to help him choose her daily exercises.
Hasiel
Ultrasonic cleaner: Anyone who owns glasses will understand Hasi's problems with keeping his glasses clean. You'd be doing him a big favour by buying him a little machine like this.
Writers' Socks: Although he wouldn't usually wear colourful, flashy clothes, socks are perfect for letting his imagination run wild. Especially if they are about a subject that interests you as much as books do.
Diorama bookmarks: Another Christmas classic are bookmarks, but I have found some that recreate mythical scenes from classic books. They are available for many works and can be a perfect complement to special editions of books.
Pin
Pencil holder: I couldn't resist making this little inside joke. A little reminder won't hurt either.
Snack advent calendar: Why ask for one gift when you can have 24? He would love any advent calendar, but a snack calendar seems appropriate for him.
Projector: With a small projector he can watch films and series in his sorority room or invite you to join him.
Maske
Fingerprint padlock: A secure padlock for a person who hides a lot of secrets. Maske loves tech gadgets and keeping their privacy safe.
Cup warmer: For someone who drinks a lot of coffee and has insomnia, this cup warmer will keep your cups at the perfect temperature.
Spice collection: It's no secret that Maske likes to cook, so they have a lot of utensils, so the smartest thing I could think of is to give them some kind of exotic spice kit so they can innovate in their kitchen and get out of their comfort zone a bit.
Aracne
Gothic picnic basket: A perfect basket for two to have a romantic meal in the forest with Opal.
Couples' keepsake wheel: Important dates and memories can be engraved on it. A romantic and personalised gift.
Sewing scissors: A nice pair of scissors is a must in the sewing basket of a seamstress.

🚧🚧🚧🚧🚧🚧🚧🚧🚧🚧🚧🚧🚧🚧🚧🚧
Pin
Portalápices: No me he podido resistir a hacer esta pequeña broma interna.

I saved a thread the other day on non-generic gifts to give or get yourself, but it's in my native language so I'm translating for you:
Theater tickets, museum tickets, massage voucher, spa voucher, art print from an artist/style you enjoy, travel sized clothes iron, seeds to plant, udemy course, homemade snacks (idk about your location but individuals tend to sell these here on socials and they tend to be delicious), subscription to a service like headspace, board game, tea samples, one of those asian snack boxes, bathrobe, 5 year q&a journal, those handwarmer thingies with a warming device inside, reusable ice cubes, wireless phone charger, one of those cups that has a coaster that warms up the beverage inside, mini hand sowing machine, a high quality phone holder for your car, a car organizer, a home pasta maker device, moka pot, fondue set, cheese board, electric wine bottle opener, sushi set (for making and eating), and there was a list of food samples from popular restaurants/cafes here, which im sure you can find for your location. Hope these help!
THIS IS INCREDIBLE. MANY THANKS

July 22nd, 2024 星期一 - NCCU tour, Taipei Zoo, Teahouse in the Mountains
This morning I was so extremely tired so I woke up around 8:45 am and got ready to go to a nearby bakery for breakfast. I sped over there and ended up buying a ham and Swiss croissant and a walnut cinnamon bun thingy. They were pretty tasty and fairly cheap. I then met up with my class and we headed out on a (non-party) bus to visit NCCU, our professor’s alma matter hehe. It was definitely a long drive there but I just ate my pastries on the way. I carried my new water bottle with me all day but quite literally never filled it up 😭
Our first stop at the university was the international dorm, where we were greeted by some of the buildings staff. I lived in the international dorm back when I was a freshman so it was interesting to see what theirs looked like. It was a seven floor building that included both single and double rooms. The size of the single room we toured was at least twice that of the ones at UF. The rooms also had a balcony, its own bedding, and a fairly large mini fridge.
Next we toured the common area which was pretty large BUT lacked a real stove or oven. It was also pretty interesting that there were little cards everywhere with the Chinese name and pinyin of random items such as the fridge and fire extinguisher. The NCCU representative told us that the building is 90% international students and 10% Taiwanese students, which is definitely more than the 60% American students to 40% international students at UF. But I guess having less Taiwanese students gives more space for international students to have housing. The representative also mentioned that a lot of the visiting students are finance majors.
After this, we headed to view the different study spaces around the building before hopping in the bus off to our next tour stop. We ended up at the Dah Hsien Seetoo library, which was donated in 2018 by the former MBA students of NCCU professor Dah Hsien Seetoo. The library was very nice and modern inside, although the temperature was abnormally warm. We toured around the different floors and viewed spaces such as the study rooms and the maker space. Something I found interesting about the study rooms (for undergrads) is that instead of having individual spaces in a room, it was different cubicles you could reserve. For example, one room would have spots ABCDEF, and you would reserve seat D to study. For graduate students, however, there were also designated study spaces that they had the key to for whatever period of time. There is also something like that at UF in Library West, though less modern of course. In the maker space, there were multiple types of 3D printers, an engraver, and a heat press. All machines are free to use and long as you bring your own graphic or AI file to send to the machines.
At the end we visited a famous cafe in the bottom floor of the library. Some students got coffee and deserts but I was more interested in watching the ducks that lived in a little house outside by the nearby pond. There weren’t out when we first got there but later they came out and swam around. I went to the shore of the pond a few times to look at them better and they came onto the bank to play in the bushes. After the coffee shop, we headed out to NCCU’s version of University Blvd, a street with a lot of restaurants and boba shops. Some classmates and I decided on a dumpling shop down the street. I got pork and veggie potstickers, Korean style potstickers, and a pork and veggie wonton noddle soup. After lunch, we walked around for a bit and our professor bought us ice cream (<3) since it was so hot. I also ended up buying a passion fruit tea with coconut jelly.
We then headed to the zoo. It was a very very large zoo, it had a tram to take from one side to the other. We first viewed the kolas and pandas as a group. The kolas were so cute and fully. They looked very sleepy which I resonate with HEAVY. At first we couldn’t see much of the pandas, but after the zookeepers brought out their lunch, they were visible. They were so cute and large and fluffy. They almost looked fake haha. I visited the upstairs gift shop of the panda exhibit and bought a fairly good quality canvas tote bag with a drawn map of Taipei on it. Next, we took the tram to the reptile exhibit. There were more turtles and tortoises in this zoo than I think I’ve ever seen in my life. We explored several other exhibits afterwards— including the penguins, giraffes, elephants, sun bears, zebras, mandarin ducks, and Pygmy hippos. Something interesting about this zoo was the insane amount of food options. I feel like zoos in the U.S. barely have food places, and if they do, it’s super overpriced. At the end, we met with the rest of the class at the main gift shop. I folded last minute a bought a cute turtle keychain and a capybara with a turtle backpack (I might like turtles idk).
Next we took some group pictures outside before heading in the bus up a mountain to go to a famous teahouse. We got to experience the tea ceremony with jasmine tea (hehe) and I ordered some soy sauce braised chicken wings and a bowl of rice as a snack. After eating, I walked around outside and watched my classmates search for a large stick to beat up a spider so they could go down a path to cross a bridge to get closer to the nearby waterfall. There were some crazy mosquitos out there but thankfully our professor lent us mosquito spray when we had first got off the bus. I pet a very talkative orange cat while I was walking around outside (the cats in Taiwan so far tend got be so talkative). Eventually we did the drive home, where I showered, and then met with some of my classmates to get Indian food.
Academic Reflection
Taiwan Zoo was originally just the privately owned zoo of a Japanese man in the northern part of Taipei City. After just a year, the then Japanese government of Taiwan bought the land and turned it into a public park called the Maruyama Zoo (Maruyama is now called Yuanshan). After World War 2, the park was taken over by the ROC Taipei City government. One of the most popular animals was Lin Wang, an Asian elephant that worked during the second Sino-Japanese and relocated with the Kuomintang. He was the most popular animal until the zoo received 2 pandas from Mainland China.
In 1973 they made plans to build a modern zoo and after thirteen years, the original zoo in Yuanshan was closed and a new zoo in the southern part of Taipei was opened on New Year’s Day. The location was moved to accommodate more animals and give more space for the both the recreation and research sides to function. The new Taiwan Zoo is now one of the largest zoos in Asia, and focuses on the conservation and research of animals and insects. Something unique about this zoo is the Formosa animal area, where zoo visitors can see native Taiwanese animals such as Eurasian otters, Pangolins, and sika deer.

Secondo also has an ice cream maker. primo has a popcorn maker but like a mini movie theatre styled one
Secondo is the kind of man to buy every single as seen on TV kitchen device ever. His cupboards are hazardously full of thirty things that all do only one task in the kitchen MAN I wish I had a popcorn machine like that, one of the good ones. That's living life large

Advantages of Having Your Own Ice Machine: Why It’s a Game-Changer for Homes and Businesses
Imagine this: it’s a scorching summer day, and you’re hosting a backyard barbecue. You’ve got the grill fired up, the drinks are chilled, and the guests are arriving. But as the hours pass, one thing becomes painfully clear—you’re running out of ice. Sound familiar? Whether you’re managing a bustling restaurant or simply trying to keep your home bar stocked, an Ice Machine can be a lifesaver. In this blog post, we’ll explore the numerous advantages of owning your own Ice Maker Machine , from convenience to cost savings, and why businesses especially should consider investing in a commercial-grade solution.
1. Unmatched Convenience
One of the biggest perks of having your own Ice Cube Maker Machine is the sheer convenience it offers. No more last-minute trips to the store for bags of ice or worrying about whether you’ve bought enough for an event. With an Ice Machine, you have a constant supply of fresh, clean ice ready whenever you need it. For households, this means you’re always prepared for impromptu gatherings or hot summer days. For businesses like restaurants, cafes, or bars, having an on-demand ice supply ensures smooth operations without disruptions.
2. Cost Savings Over Time
While purchasing an Ice Machine may seem like a significant upfront investment, it pays for itself over time. Think about how much you spend on bagged ice for parties, events, or daily use. Those costs add up quickly, especially for businesses that rely heavily on ice. A commercial Ice Machine eliminates the need for frequent ice purchases, reducing long-term expenses. Additionally, maintaining your own machine is often more economical than repeatedly buying pre-packaged ice, which can also come with environmental concerns due to plastic waste.
3. Hygiene and Quality Control
When you buy ice from external sources, you can’t always be sure of its cleanliness or how it was handled during production and transportation. Contaminated ice can pose health risks, making it crucial to ensure quality control. By owning an Ice Maker Machine , you have complete oversight over the ice-making process. Most modern machines use advanced filtration systems to produce crystal-clear, hygienic ice that’s safe for consumption. This level of control is particularly important for businesses in the food and beverage industry, where customer satisfaction and safety are paramount.
4. Customization Options
Different occasions call for different types of ice—whether it’s crushed ice for cocktails, cube ice for coolers, or gourmet ice for high-end presentations. Many Ice Cube Maker Machines allow you to customize the size and shape of the ice produced, giving you flexibility to meet specific needs. For example, a bar might prefer large, slow-melting cubes for whiskey, while a catering business may need smaller cubes for chilling beverages quickly. The ability to tailor your ice production makes an Ice Machine Commercial a versatile asset for any operation.

5. Increased Efficiency for Businesses
For businesses, efficiency is key to success, and an Ice Machine Commercial can significantly boost productivity. Without the hassle of sourcing ice externally, staff can focus on providing excellent service to customers. Restaurants, hotels, and event venues benefit immensely from having reliable access to ice, ensuring seamless operations even during peak hours. Moreover, commercial-grade machines are designed to handle high volumes of ice production, making them ideal for busy environments. This reliability translates into better customer experiences and improved bottom lines.
6. Eco-Friendly Benefits
In today’s world, sustainability matters more than ever. Buying bagged ice contributes to unnecessary plastic waste, which harms the environment. By switching to an Ice Machine , you reduce your carbon footprint and minimize single-use plastics. Many modern machines are energy-efficient, further enhancing their eco-friendly appeal. For businesses looking to adopt greener practices, investing in an Ice Maker Machine is a step in the right direction.
7. Space-Saving Designs
Gone are the days when ice machines were bulky and took up too much room. Modern designs prioritize compactness and functionality, making them suitable for both residential and commercial spaces. Undercounter models, portable units, and modular setups allow you to integrate an Ice Cube Maker Machine seamlessly into your existing layout. Even small kitchens or tight bar areas can accommodate these sleek machines without sacrificing valuable space.

8. Reliability During Emergencies
Unexpected situations, such as power outages or supply chain disruptions, can leave you scrambling for essentials like ice. Owning an Ice Machine provides peace of mind, knowing you won’t be caught off guard. For businesses, this reliability is critical during emergencies when demand for chilled products remains high. Having a backup plan ensures continuity and keeps your operations running smoothly.
