chemicals in wv’s bunker turning all the frogs gay!!
(page 1407-1429)
Every thread of this story is so cool right now that I can’t decide which one I most want to go back to, and I’m not mad about any of the sudden switches. Also, 22 pages today, which is the new record for most pages in a single day.
Yesterday we caught our first glimpse of the Land of Light and Rain, the planet where Rose has landed in the Medium. Like John, Rose’s house (including immediate surroundings, like the waterfall) has been plucked from Earth and placed on an Incipisphere planet, but where John’s house was high above the planet’s surface, Rose’s is level. LOLAR looks like a kids’ Easter craft party (complimentary) with butter yellow clouds, bright blue skies, artistically sculpted limestone or marble (?) formations, and a sea of swirled, pastel pink, blue and yellow.
It’s very pretty to me, although not quite as magical as the spooky bioluminescence of LOWAS in my opinion. But I’m thinking about how Rose defaced a Squiddles T-shirt so that the sweet cartoon looks evil, and knit her princess doll a tentacled face and arms, and simply refused to acknowledge an absurd pink tea set. Rose has a lot of resistance to things that are pastel, youthful and girly, so I’m surprised by her ‘I think I like it here’ (p.1402) unless she already has plans to twist this land to her dark ways. Like if John’s quest is to slay The Slumbering One such that the Breeze can flow through the Pipes (p.1358), restoring the Wind to the Land of Wind and Shade… LOLAR already has plenty of light, so could Rose’s quest be about balancing out the light with some more darkness? I think that’d be very fitting for her.
Nannasprite confirmed that John is the Heir of Breath (p.1358) and his land is wind-themed, so, Rose’s land being light-themed probably means she’s the Seer of Light, instead of Witch of Space like most people have theorized. Which is really surprising, and is probably going to put both Rose and Jade (who must now be the Witch) in unfamiliar situations.
The loading screen on this flash is part of a diagram we’ve previously seen in WV’s bunker on page 733, which presumably lays out all four kids’ planets after they’ve all entered the Medium. Meanwhile, there’s an 8-planet session displayed in the Skaianet Laboratory in page 874. Is it possible this corresponds to the trolls’ session and only eight of them had yet entered at that moment? That doesn’t feel quite right, because it’s not set up with 4 gaps for more planets – so it could be that some of the trolls didn’t manage to enter? Or it could be another session entirely, perhaps winnie the poop 2 from GameFAQs (p.249).
This update also explicitly reminds the reader about the planets WV drew on page 703, showing the exact same panel (with bonus PM – what will she draw??) on page 1413 in case anyone hadn’t made the link with John and Rose’s lands. The update also features PM recapping the LOWAS walkaround and confirming which parts of that are ‘canon’ in the sense of impacting John’s ongoing story – in this case, his placing a shoe and hat in the Parcel Pyxis, and obtaining a chisel and uncarved minitablet. These recaps add some interesting context, and I overall like that the story is making concessions to casual readers who aren’t constantly rereading old pages. I guess this is similar to when a sequel/later book in a series will have characters discuss the events of the previous book, just for a continuously updating story instead of one in discrete chunks.
Anyway this whole thing smacks of Gender, and there’s a big focus on PM Being A Woman which continues to make no sense to me. WV thinks that ‘ladies like squishy useless things’ (p.1409) and that ‘they are a riddle draped in a mystery wrapped in post-apocalyptic shroudwear’ (p.1413). In the early acts gender wasn’t explicitly discussed amongst the kids, and it took months for PM’s being a woman to even come up – but since Snowman’s introduction things have felt more gendered, impacting Rose’s pesterlogs (p.1401) and WV’s pages today. Drawing attention to PM’s ‘lovely white complexion’ is also a little weird to me; I think it’d be better for the comic to stay away from lines like that in its black/white chess dichotomy.
I am annoyed by gender but not made about WV and PM’s silly date sequence. WV is still shown as naive and foolish but in an affectionate way, and his ‘big computer with the weird boy on it’ is a funny line. He basically invites PM over to play video games and shows off his cool computer and lets her have a turn, which is apparently a classic dating move in both the human 2000s and chess piece 2420s.
We glimpse the third room of the bunker, which does not have a sendificator like I expected. Instead there’s a spirograph shaped keyhole like the one on page 733, only instead of switching between Earth and the Incipisphere, this one switches between two identical spirographs and a Big Frog. I get so excited when frogs show up, not because of their importance to the lore or anything, I just like frogs. Below that dial is a single blue button, and there’s a large spirograph platform in the center of the room. We strategically don’t see the other side.
Honestly I got nothing for this – the frog has an arrow to each spirograph, so it’s not like switching frogs on or off. The mystic ruins are frog shaped and are where the bunker is attuned to for its ‘HOME’ function, so could it be switching between two sets of mystic ruins? But if so, where would the other set be? Somewhere in the Incipisphere?
We learn that John is familiar to PM, as presumably they meet after John wakes up on Prospit, which is in the past for PM but the future for John. It’s confirmed that she’s the source of instructions in the LOWAS walkaround (p.1358), and we see the narrator act as an intermediary between them, just like with John and WV (p.254, for example). It seems like commands only have control over John, or go through to him directly, when they’re phrased as instructions. It also seems like the bunker command terminals are keyed to players, as they have these commanding abilities, while server players are keyed to locations, as their role is to build – Rose mentions on page 1402 that she can only see John’s empty house.
These screenshots of the LOWAS walkaround still show the game interface controller, restart button, etc) and cursor, and the narrator mentions that ‘this may or may not mean anything to you depending on your current perspective’ (p.1419). Later when a screenshot shows the narrative text within the panel (‘You got a CHUNK OF AMBER!’), the narrator says, ‘You got a CHUNK OF… Why am I repeating myself?’ (p.1427), all of which draw attention to the flash game and webcomic formats. That’s always interesting to me, especially now that we have multiple sub-games and webcomics within a webcomic that’s both about a game and set up as a different sort of game. All those things are going to rub up against each other at some point, and that’s massively influenced John’s character – he has to be ignorant of a lot of things so that he can be explained to in place of the reader, so that he can demonstrate the consequences of failure before getting to succeed, and so that he can be the playable character in a Flash game and interact with things for seemingly the first time. So his character development is very constrained by his role in these mediums, and I like that this conflict shows up with John specifically.
Anyway I need to remind myself that mind control is still bad even when it is the Peregrine Mendicant doing it. This is a moral wrong even when she is being harmlessly enthusiastic about the mail and when I love her very much. But wow are her mail themed commands fun now that we know their full origin and PM’s genuine delight, especially if this is the first time she’s visited LOWAS.
Finally, I love the decision to recap the Secret Wizard and Crumplehat. They might not be plot important (??) but they definitely establish character for the salamanders as a species and set a whimsical fantasy tone for LOWAS, and they are the true stars of the walkaround. Also this is the title of my posts document right now.
And hey! The full view of John’s house high above LOWAS on page 1429. From the salamanders’ perspective, I totally get it. See something like that appear in the sky out of nowhere, and something strange and magical is definitely going on.

LORE DROP! LORE DROP! LORE DROP!
But first lets finish with Slick because huh??
Using the power of sprite flipping, Slick is able to manifest his barcode once again. Such a silly little argument actually becomes poignant who knew? Also not sure how I missed it but the references to SBAHJ were actually links to previous comics. Still doesnt explain their connection but it does make them more than just throwaways.
After scanning the barcode, the doors open revealing something very curious.
Oh yeah buddy, that is definitely a spirograph and this is definitely a bunker.
This guy again?
Been a long time.
A bunker Slick is very familiar with. We dont get much more about this mysterious new figure besides that they are:
grey with orange horns
they have cruxite and captchalouge cards so have to be connected with SBURB
his window matches the panes of Slicks console
theres a sickle on the ground
his shirt has the zodiac symbol for Cancer
and what may be a crab-like Sprite is floating in their room
This guy is obviously a player but they are not from earth so not likely in the same session as John and co. The only references weve had to other worldly beings were from the trolls so could it be this is one of them? And that begs the question of how did they infiltrate the kids session?
The intermission ends with another poorly drawn MSPA panel of this final shot in his room before the curtains close and we start act 4.
FLIGHT OF THE PARADOX CLONES
An interesting title of this act and reminded me of the orchestral piece 'Flight of the Bumblebee' by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov. Looking more into it, the song was originally an interlude piece for one of his operas and "intended to musically evoke the seemingly chaotic and rapidly changing flying pattern of a bumblebee (Wikipedia)." Ive got a feeling things are gonna get crazy this act, more so than weve seen so far especially with whatever paradox clones are.
Act 4 starts us where we left off with John as he passes through the gate to the planet below: The Land of Wind and Shade.
Like we did way back when, this flash is interactive allowing us to explore a part of the planet. On top of that Nanna is still back at the house, unable to join John on his quest, and after interacting with certain parts adds a little more (if cryptic) context.
Lets start with a few visual basics.
(gonna be just as much of a doozy as that house update was so be prepared)
LOWAS (because I am not writing that whole thing out every time) is a very beautiful planet, and not just cause I am biased towards blue. Glowing trees and mushrooms grow everywhere with pipes and Parcel Pyxis scattered around. The previously thought dark rivers are actually full of oil, much like the imps John has been fighting. On LOWAS we find different imps with cat and tentacle features as well as princess costumes; a product of Roses entering the medium. Hanging fairly low are clouds full of 'stars' that are actually Fireflies, trapped by a spell from The Slumbering One. The yellow salamanders that we interact with are the Consorts of this land, self-depreciating little creatures John will have to protect.
Starting with the Parcel Pyxis, these cylindrical objects operate like mailboxes ‘connected to [the] network of pipes’. Pyxis is a small constellation though there doesn’t seem to be a connection beyond a space theme. These operate using Minitablets which look similar to the Captchalouge cards weve seen. These are carved and deposited into the Pyxis for someone else, unknown to the requester, to find and then deposit said item. If you find something in one of these you are ‘obliged to keep it’ as its thought to be ‘a gift from the Breeze’. Looking around at each Pyxis we do find various items as well as more of the oil spewing from one. Of note, one of the Pyxis contains amber much like the one Serenity was in and found by WV. Nanna, after the explanation of the Pyxis, states ‘The true Heir must learn [their] ways … to progress through the Gates.’ So we now have confirmation that John is the Heir of Breath which makes sense with all the talk of wind and Breezes but more on that later.
A group of salamanders can be found who explain more about what happened to this planet. Fireflies as we learned are important and The Slumbering One cast a spell before falling asleep to trap them. At the same time, ‘some really terrible guys’ asked him to create a whole bunch of Underlings which most likely means the imps. Then he clogged the land and pipes with oil sludge so ‘[the planet] can barely breath’. This may be a metaphor for choking out the planet but it could also imply that the planet is alive in someway. Those ‘terrible guys’ turn out to be the Agents, likely guys like Jack, who only became more active ‘when the Heir showed up’. For the Consorts this was only very recently which falls in line with Johns arrival to the Medium and LOWAS. The spell can only be broken when ‘...The Slumbering One is awoken and slain. Then the Breeze will again flow through the pipes…’ freeing the fireflies. So now we have an objective for John to work towards.
Lastly, before we get to the big point, Nanna says ‘Amphibious and reptilian life forms play a special roll in you quest’. This comes after John speaks to a Consort about a broken Cherished Idol which is a statue of a frog. In one of the Pyxis you can actually find a frog labeled ILLEGAL CONTRABAND so the frogs weve seen on Jades island are probably more than just a weird choice. Theres something bigger going on besides ‘really hat[ing] frogs’.
Now the big point. One of the Consorts says ‘Often, wind skims the voids of the Pipes, as if grazing the hollow of a cut reed, or say, a plundered Parcel Pyxis.’ Where have we heard that before? ‘Wind skims the voids keeping neighbors apart, as if grazing the hollow of a cut reed, or say, a plundered mailbox.’ (page 82) There is a Very deep connection here that only gets more interesting. The Consort says ‘It is a lovely sound and brings back fond memories of my childhood.’ while on page 82 it follows with ‘A familiar note is produced. It's the one Desolation plays to keep its instrument in tune.’ Im unclear the exact nature of the connection but just speculating I no longer think that the Wind is Desolation. Instead, keeping in mind desolation is “a state of complete emptiness or destruction”, the note played by the wind used by Desolation is nostalgia. While those memories can be looked at fondly, there is sometimes a sense of loss associated with those memories for simpler times. Desolation is not what we should focus on, though we cant forget it completely, rather we should approach this with focus on the Wind and Breeze and how it will affect and change John especially as the Heir. On another note, the imagery conveyed by talking of Pipes and Breezes reminds me a lot of a pipe organ. Pipe organs work by “driving pressurized air (called wind (!!!)) through the organ pipes” (Wikipedia). Is this Desolations Instrument? And what will this mean for John?
As a final note, there is a spot where you can use the telescope to view Johns home from the planet. This confuses John because isnt he meant to climb the gates? Nanna says ‘to ascend, each time you must first descend’. And something clicked. Each kid at some point descends. John and Rose from their rooms to the ground floor. Dave after hes pushed down the stairs. Jade to the island proper. And each time after they ascend again. John to each platform and eventually the gate. Dave back to the roof to strife with Bro. Rose to the rooftop to enter the Medium. Jade to the entrance of the frog statue.
To Ascend, each time you Must First Descend.

Science Behind Spheronization: Why Shape Matters in Pharmaceutical Production
The pharmaceutical manufacturing world is pretty complex. The size of the particles is one prime consideration that can make a world of difference in achieving quality and effective medicines. At the core of it lies spheronization—the process of converting raw material into uniform spherical particles in order to improve the production efficiency and performance of the final drug product.
Awareness: Spheronization and Its Implication in the Pharmaceutical Industry
Spheronization refers to an advanced pelletizing technique that results in creating nearly round particles from a powder, granules, or other forms of solid. One can even control the process of production by changing the process variable inside a spheronizer. The size distribution is narrow and specific to formulation requirements for spherical particles resulting from the spheronizer.
So why does this round shape make so much difference in pharmaceutical? This is basically because the physical properties are unique which the spherical particle possesses. Compared with irregular particles, the spherical particle has the flowability feature. For this reason, it could easily feed to the equipment smoothly and with consistency—the tableting equipment, and the encapsulation equipment for that matter. It can be compressed to a considerable pressure, hence making sturdy, excellent tablets, capsules, and so forth.
Ultimately, the spherical shape unlocks major benefits through the entire pipeline of pharmaceutical production, from streamlining manufacturing processes to improving quality and performance of the final drug product. That is why spheronization has become an indispensable tool in the modern pharmaceutical industry.
Consideration: Technical Advantages of Spherical Particles
The very simple yet highly creative process on which lies the heart of spheronization involves taking pharmaceutical powders or granules and introducing them to the particular equipment like the spheronizer. Once this is done, a controlled rotation, coupled with friction, ensues, and the smooth agitation makes the particles turn into almost perfect spheres because of a gradual process of forming rounded shapes.
There are many technical advantages of the spherical shape per se. First, an ideally uniform particle size as well as a relatively smooth surface renders spheres better flow and handling properties which are really of great importance for assured dosing that is reproducible in the process of tabletting, encapsulation, or other types of filling operations. This sort of fluidity allows fewer stops of machinery, decreased scrap, and therefore generally increased output.
However, the advantages of spheronization go far beyond making a production process easier. The round shape also plays a very important role in performance and stability of the drug product in the end. Spherical particles are usually characterized by more favorable dissolution profiles and have drug release kinetics that are predictable and reproducible. Further, the size and distribution of spheronized particle sizes may also stabilize the physical properties of formulation, reducing the possibility of segregation or caking over time during storage and shipping.
Conclusion: Practical Applications of Spheronization Technology
The versatility of spheronization technology makes it a valuable tool for a range of pharmaceutical applications. The ability to produce high-quality, spherical particles is one of the key enablers for manufacturers looking to provide effective and reliable drug products for patients—from immediate-release tablets to controlled-release beads.
Another excellent use of spheronization is in multiparticulate drug delivery systems. Uniform spherical pellets or minitablets formed with the help of a dedicated spheronizer allow the formulator to design complex release profiles suitable for the particular physiological requirements of the patient. This precision, as one might expect, is directly translatable into improved clinical performance and patient experience.
There are many other applications where it extends far beyond the drug. Thus, manufacturing fertilizers produce spherical granules, which can improve spreading while reducing dust and will be efficient to apply without creating hazards on workers' safety. For the sphere in ceramics or abrasives, it would increase polishing performance and lessen the amount of wear of the machines.
By passage of time, its importance will continue to augment amongst the pharmaceutical industries about this spheronization technology. Through the application of principles and scientific knowledge for developing uniform, spherical particles to manufacture through a specialized machine that reduces the production line's steps and increases product quality in a final healthcare delivery line that benefits patient well-being.
In situ, raw materials are to be shaped into uniform performing particles—a vital part of the contemporary pharmaceutical arsenal with more complex drug formulations bringing a demand for improvement and spheronization. Total control by pharmaceutical companies in the science behind such a process will unlock new dimensions that can further efficiency, quality, and innovation—all within improved safety and efficacy for patients in medical treatments.

The Frog Temple has a very faint Gate symbol on it, just like the Sburb stations. Could there be an entrance there to a more technological side of this facility?
Ok, clever. I think I know what’s going on here.
AR has confiscated John’s disc, but Future!PM now knows who she’s dealing with now. She’s seen that AR is someone who has utmost respect for the law, and the law of this Land is clear: anything carved on these tablets must be placed in the Pyxis.
Future!PM just needs to instruct John to make a tablet request, and AR will be obligated to respect it.
I can see only one hole in this plan - it involves John Egbert. He’s only asked for the disc, not the parcel!
>AR?: Doff your hat to the attractive female.
You doff so furiously you are in danger of starting a HAT FIRE.
I know of some distinguished gentlemen who can give you notes.
You show him the carved MINITABLET. As he can plainly see, you have signed authorization to deliver one of the parcels. He gives you the ENVELOPE. But he retains the PACKAGE.
The server disc is obviously important, but looking at that little green box reminds me that we’re not dealing with a normal birthday present here. This package came from Jade.
She saw this coming, so wherever it’s going, it’s going to wind its way back to John eventually.
We know enough about Jade to know that just about anything could be in that box, and my guess is that whatever it is, it’s in the form of information. Captcha codes, Sburb lore, and insight into future events are all on the table.

Performance encapsulated

The ADAPTA series of capsule fillers from IMA Active is known for exceptional precision and flexibility in multi-product dosing. Thanks to the compact performance of its B&R automation platform, the new ADAPTA 50 offers all the advanced functionality of its larger siblings on a one-third smaller footprint.
Technology for quality of life
A much safer and more convenient solution is to combine multiple drugs in a single capsule. Taken once in the morning, the medications are time-released throughout the day. Interactions and uptake times are accounted for automatically, and patients can live their lives without worrying about missing a dose. Yet, filling different medications at high speed and with reliable accuracy is no easy task. It takes machines that are exceptionally precise and flexible – like those offered by Italian solid dose pharmaceutical specialist IMA Active.
The company's ADAPTA 100 and 200 capsule fillers offer 100% in-line quality control and plug-and-play dosing units for powder, pellets, tablets, minitablets and liquids. To meet new market demands, IMA recently expanded the popular series with the compact new ADAPTA 50. Packing all that advanced functionality into a one-third smaller footprint involved much more than simply scaling down an existing model.
"In demanding markets like pharmaceuticals and life sciences, performance is ultimately a matter of patient safety,” says IMA Active Automation manager Marco Minardi. “So, for a best-in-class product line like ADAPTA, every aspect of the machines must meet the absolute highest requirements, particularly the automation technology.” The compact size of the new ADAPTA 50 meant that IMA would have to satisfy its demanding performance requirements in a tighterspace than ever before.
l saved us additional space in the control cabinet.”
Easy service, half the wiring
The whole B&R solution is joined by a POWERLINK network with a cycle time of 400 microseconds and configured in B&R’s universal engineering environment, Automation Studio. “That considerably reduces our time-to-market for new machines,” says Minardi, “and makes it easy to add options like optical dosage verification.” Optical dosage verification using B&R’s machine vision solution synchronizes perfectly with the high-speed process, and its integrated intelligence saves valuable cabinet space.
The compactness of B&R’s products also makes it possible to place remote hardware strategically around the machine to simplify wiring and consequently service. “Thanks to openSAFETY and POWERLINK, our decentralized safety components communicate seamlessly with the machine control system, and we only need half the wiring,” confirms Minardi.
Close collaboration for lasting success
According to Minardi, IMA Active especially values B&R’s customer focus. “They’re easy to talk to, quick to understand our needs and ready to solve challenges at every phase of the project.” Another decisive factor for Minardi is B&R’s strong global presence, which is particularly important to a company like IMA, who sells 90% of its machines abroad. “Our partnership with B&R gives us confidence that our machines around the world will always deliver reliable best-in-class performance with the latest the world of automation has to offer.”
B&R's collaboration with IMA Active began in 2000, and since 2017 they have been the preferred automation supplier for the entire IMA Group, a world leader in the processing and packaging of pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, food, tea and coffee.

MY FINAL WORD ON BARBASOL SCIENCE
(page 1465-1490)
There are quite a few parallels with earlier acts in this update, and I definitely feel like Homestuck is bringing its Earth storylines to a close, likely so that all of the kids can enter the Medium by the end of Act 4 and the story can fully take place there.
The first parallel is this sequence of Grandpa Harley panels – killing a butterfly on pages 1130-1 and a basilisk on pages 1465-6. The next is that this basilisk head looks a lot like the heads on Grandpa Harley’s wall on page 911, only color swapped. So the implication is that Grandpa, who is of course an ‘explorer-naturalist-treasure hunter-archaeologist-scientist-adventurer-big game hunter-billionaire’ (p.790), was not content doing these activities on Earth. After discovering the Pacific island where he lives with Jade, I’d guess he explored the mystic ruins and began unearthing Skaian technology; possibly he received some sort of scientific understanding from Skaia itself that taught him how to create transportalizers (among other things) that allowed him to travel to the Medium. Here Grandpa was able to indulge his passions like never before. Due to the multiple colors of monsters, he likely explored all four planets, plus Prospit and the dark kingdom. As the Incipisphere is untethered from Earth time, of course Grandpa would visit the period of its history when it’s most exciting to be there with the most diverse lifeforms. Grandpa returned to late 20th century Earth, built hit house based on the Prospitian towers, mounted his trophies, and began raising his granddaughter.
I’ve seen a lot of speculation that Grandpa Harley is a future version of John, or that the four guardians previously played a session and Grandpa stayed behind in the Medium, etc, but I don’t think those are necessary for the story to make sense. I do like the link between John meeting his nanna, who died when he was young, and now getting to meet Jade’s grandpa who died when she was young, both of whom have interacted with his ‘inheritance’ of the Sassacre book – like John being the heir extends outside his own family (at least, outside his biological family).
After the copper giclops absconds holding the Sassacrusher and Grandpa (drawn in copper silhouette) absconds holding the Sassacre book (weird to connect the two of them like that, I know that Grandpa kills other creatures indiscriminately and without mercy but I’ve seen no evidence that the giclops is so bad).
we move from my favorite character john egbert to my favorite character the peregrine mendicant <3 what a delight!! Just as the Bec symbol on WV’s pumpkin triggered some understanding in AR, a spirograph on the mystic ruins triggers a memory in PM, and we put together a beautiful mail timeline.
Order of events within Homestuck:
John probably finds an uncarved minitablet and chisel on LOWAS (p.1358) if you play the full walkaround.
PM commands John to open the pyxis to take these items (p.1425-6).
A younger PM finds a carved minitablet and the item inscribed on it, and delivers them to the breeze (1476-82).
PM goes to command John to carve the tablet (p.1489-90).
John presumably will do this and place it in the pyxis.
Order of events in linear time:
John finds an uncarved minitablet and chisel on LOWAS.
He carves it with the symbol for the Sburb server disc.
PM finds the carved minitablet, retrieves the envelope and delivers it to the breeze.
413 years later, PM sees John through WV’s computer and commands him to take the actions of first finding and then carving the tablet.
So in the comic, past, future, John and PM are all interspersed, although John’s story stays linear, which sets some guidelines. It does make me sad that this happens in a way that takes a lot of agency from John – he doesn’t get the chance to find his dad’s car and see that the parcels are missing and try to solve the minitablet puzzle himself, he gets the command from PM soon enough to avoid that whole challenge. I think the timeline could have been played with a little more to allow John to at least reach the car before PM’s memory was prompted, and she still could have swooped in to give John a nudge in the right direction if he was struggling to solve this. John has been saved by other people a lot and it’s not satisfying if he never succeeds on his own terms.
The close ups on the minitablet make it really clear that these are stone age captchalogue cards, with the same broad function but a long time delay between ‘captchaloguing’ and possessing the item, while on Earth the technology was instant and at people’s fingertips. This fits especially well with Jade’s new fetch modus, which is interesting as the Pictionary modus was chosen through a reader poll while the minitablet system is author-created. Jade’s modus is essentially the best of both worlds – it works instantly, but can also be used to acquire new items.
John’s stone minitablet carving fits right in with the other drawings he did for his friends, which I’m sobbing and crying over cause he’s really just like this all the time. <3 I love even more that this drawing counts as ‘signed authorization to deliver one of the parcels’ (p.1481). As AR can plainly see, and only a fool would think otherwise. Finally John gets given some respect.
John and PM both leave to follow some strange men, and I have all my fingers crossed for a sword origin story for PM now the narrative has drawn so much attention to her never thinking ‘to carry a sword or resort to violence under any circumstance’ (p.1478). AR is going to the dark kingdom to return a package to his superiors and PM is following, and I’m betting every boondollar I have that these two will run into Dad Egbert.
So, the Barbasol debate. I have definitely looked into this before but I am stating once again for the record: the cream itself is not flammable and in fact can work as a flame suppressant (like a foam fire extinguisher) but the propellant in a standard aerosol can is extremely flammable pressurized gas, so a sudden change in heat, such as being thrown into a fire, will definitely ignite it. That’s my last word on Barbasol science because I’m more interested in its leadup on page 1479 – AR doffs his hat too furiously and almost starts a fire, which is ‘not the best idea around all this oil. Especially without any sort of flame suppressant handy’. ‘Flame suppressant’ links directly to a Google image search for ‘barbasol’, which has been mentioned before (along with its flammability debate). This obviously works great now because Barbasol is a current product, but Google is a dynamic search engine that will update its results with new content. All it would take is for me to create a character named Barba Sol and get them to be really popular, or create a viral meme about Barbasol, or smear the product’s name with a major scandal, and I could completely change this joke. When reading back in the future this page could be entirely different.
The big gust of wind on page 1487 is really pretty and looks great in the swirly Homestuck style. But who did that?? Surely Grandpa Harley is not out here with a giant wind cannon so who else is helping John? Did Dave’s bro zoom past on his rocketboard at such speed that it caused a huge gust of wind? Has AR declared the fire illegal contraband and blown it away?
#homestuck#reaction#lil late due to. well. due to gf keeps asking me to play magic the gathering#yesterday she beat me even tho i had over 1.07billion creatures on the battlefield ????#it's a really fucked up game. im pretty new to it#chrono

March 3-5 2025 2010
PM? has followed AR? with the PARKING CITATION as an excuse, walking leftward, passing a Droog equivalent, and stumbling on a red carpet. In a large open space the carpet interects with another and at the crossroads we see a figure.

The Black Queen.
This character design has Layers. Ive made the connection with Slick/Jack and the mutilated harlequin before so tell me why the Black Queen Also has those features. A scar on the eye, a missing arm, even a step further with the hat! What are we implying here?! What is probably a new addition are the tentacles and cat face from Rose. Further this has horrifying implications. Each time the kids enter the Medium not only are the costumes affected but the Royals as well. They are equipping them with upgrades both beneficial and not. I cant even say if it would be better to only prototype once outside the medium because you would also nerf the White side. And wild thought that just came to me is that why the chess people have gender?! We cant know if they were genderless before or not but Nanna was also prototyped so did that affect anything?! Reeling right now.

PM? is intimidated by the imposing figure and can only show the citation. Getting lost must be fairly normal because BQ only directs her to Jacks office.

While this is happening, Rose ceases communication with her mysterious voice who leave with the parting words 'Find your sprite. Realize your purpose.' Lo and behold, 'You return to a more typical mindset.' So there was greater influence but now Im not sure if it was due to Seer shenanigans. Why? Because we get to see the fourth exile.

A WINDSWEPT QUESTANT suddenly appears.
Similar in silouhette to BQ, its obvious WQ is the White Queen and her being exiled makes sense, plus explains the fancy script, but it calls into question which is the greater influence on Rose or is it a double whammy of suggestion? Either way WV and AR are very surprised by her appearance. At the same time PM is finishing up the John - Parcel Pyxis - Minitablet timeloop.

Back with PM? we reach the ARCHAGENTS office. The windows we saw before look a lot smaller here though it could be the perspective. On the desk are a stack of parking citations and the illegal package. To the right of the desk is Jacks new uniform; princess jester hat, harlequin top with pink cap sleeves, and pink ruffle skirt. A masterpiece really.

PM nearly grabs the box and hightails it out but Jack pops outta nowhere. Side note, the webpage hadnt completely loaded at first so the 'CAN I HELP YOU' had an extra little punch.
Jack, for all that he hates his job, sure is a stickler for it. And god the amount of regulation! What do you mean 'notarized and punched in triplicate and presented with the full boondollar penalty plus processing fees'? I dont know about anywhere else but as far as I know in Texas you can pay cash or check at the regulatory body or online.

And PM?, the marvel she is, Lies! Sweating with nerves but LIES! On the one hand thats Ɓ10,000 that stays in Johns wallet but on the other John is not gonna know who took his packages. But thats not gonna matter because Jack '[i]n spite of how he's supposed to be dressed now but isn't, [...] ain't nobody's fool'. What I think is notable about this is he questions PM?s credibility as a courier which further adds to the fact shes not a very good NPC.
But he does come up with a compromise. The package for the White Royals heads.

Thats where the sword came from and why its black. PM? so easily accepts the deal and I wonder if even exiled she'll make good on that promise.
