Akiridion Armour Design Path

Tumblr please stop glitching and let me upload images.

As promised, Jim's Akirdion armour from Rise of the Titans! These were created by Sam Drummond who at some unknown point in time removed all his RotT artwork from his artstation account along with other works. Because that is a situation that has never happened even with the website choosing AI over artists (Artists simply replaced thumbnails and left their work for the most part) these were presumed "safe" which turned out not to be the case.

While much was lost, Fisorion of reddit happened to reupload these there 2 years ago meaning they have been preserved. They've been saved off as well with the hopes that maybe they'll be reuploaded some day.

Starting off some concepts for the design:

Then refinement work including a progressing from the concept, to 2 to 3 which would be stuck to:

And finally some funky callouts with texture reference!

The concepts for the new Amulet were also saved!

And for your reference needs, callouts and from different angles too.

Nobody else mass nuke their art for a while stressed enough as it is with websites collapsing and taking things with it.

We also happen to have the concepts and finalised version of the box the new Amulet came in curtsey of Sean Wang. In addition, it has the flat colours of said Amulet at two different angles should you need it as well. Plus a vibing Daylight Jim, can't go wrong with that.

There is in fact one other reference for the Akiridion armour that may be of benefit to someone. These are by their modeller for the blown apart sequence, in both wireframe and finalised, Monica Stefanelli!

The Omen Design Path

Getting this posted now so that twitter and tumblr match. Should in theory help reduce confusion on who has what though is a couple threads still to move over.... Either way, after this, will go by the poll results!

It was recently discovered that Francisco Ruiz Velasco aka Fruiz has been posting on his Linkedin account which has included artwork across the entire franchise. At the time of typing he uploaded three ToA related pieces in one day so it can be a bit bonkers. With this in mind it's not impossible that another Omen related piece pops up.

First up, a brand new piece! This is the earliest version of the Omen to date, possibly when it was still being referred to as Terminator Blank according to another piece, complete with a sketch and a fetching purple look.

As future "something else did turn up protection", the cut will be here.

The below image is one we did already know about as it was on his artstation page. Still, seeing them side by side is fascinating. Apart from the colour change the feet and lighting have been adjusted. Very easy to see for yourself this as if you open both files they lay on top of one another perfectly. The vibe shift has to be seen.

Also from his artstation account is an Omen that looks much more like the design we ended up with. The top heavy look has been increased, a more visible joint at the knee and murder colours. Also details on the joint ports if you need them.

Finally we have an orthographic and full turnaround for all your reference needs! Francisco's artwork is on the right while the rest of this is by Fury Galluzzi from a now defunct part of her website.

One word of warning, it has been left as it was originally uploaded thus is on the large side. Do be careful as the also large Tronos nearly crashed the computer at the time.

Interestingly the artwork says version 1 though the file name says version 2, page 1. This was however the only one that was public at the time.

[/Edit 13/02/2025] Completely forgot there is one other Omen example! Probably not what you're expecting but anybody for some Omen innards...?
