Kyokushin is known for full-contact sparring, relentless training ethos, and highly effective kicking. In the world of martial arts, few styles command the same respect and admiration as Kyokushin Karate. Founded by the legendary Masutatsu Oyama, Kyokushin is renowned for its full-contact sparring, relentless training ethos, and highly effective kicking techniques. Among the most prominent figures to carry on this legacy is Moon Jang-kyu, known internationally as Shokei Matsui. As a world-class competitor and the successor to Mas Oyama, Shokei Matsui has devoted his life to sharing the art of Kyokushin Karate, focusing on practical strategies that can be applied both in competition and real-life situations. When it comes to combat effectiveness, kicking is one of Kyokushin’s biggest strengths. Unlike some styles that rely heavily on punches or grappling, Kyokushin emphasizes powerful and precise kicks delivered with the full force of one’s body. This practical approach requires disciplined training, attention to detail, and a willingness to endure the physical rigors of full-contact practice. 1. The Role of Discipline and Conditioning One of the foundational lessons that Shokei Matsui imparts is the importance of conditioning. Kyokushin, sometimes referred to as the “strongest karate,” has always emphasized toughening the body to withstand powerful blows. Training involves repetition of techniques against heavy bags, pads, and partner drills that hone bone density in the shins and develop explosive leg power. This process ensures that the body can both deliver and absorb hits in high-contact scenarios. More than physical hardening, though, discipline is crucial. In Kyokushin dojos, respect for seniors, dedication to training, and an unwavering spirit are cultivated from day one. This mental toughness forms the basis for enduring intense physical drills and sparring sessions, ultimately translating to practical effectiveness in a real fight or a competitive match. 2. Stance and Distance Management A stable stance is essential for generating kicking power and maintaining balance. Shokei Matsui teaches students to center their weight so they can easily shift between offensive and defensive movements. By staying light on the balls of the feet while keeping the body poised for quick transitions, fighters can swiftly close distance to deliver kicks, then retreat or angle away before an opponent counters. Equally important is distance management. The range at which you launch your kick significantly impacts its success. Too close, and you risk landing ineffective strikes or being caught in a clinch; too far, and your kick falls short, offering your opponent an opening. Through meticulous footwork drills and sparring scenarios, Matsui’s approach encourages fighters to learn how to read an opponent’s body language, anticipate reactions, and strike effectively at the ideal moment. 3. Timing and Deception Some of the most memorable knockouts in Kyokushin competitions happen when a fighter manages to disguise the nature or target of a kick. This is where timing and deception become art forms. For example, a practitioner might initiate a strike toward the midsection, forcing an opponent to lower their guard, only to quickly change trajectory and strike the head. Alternatively, they might feint with a low kick, drawing an opponent’s attention downward, before delivering a devastating roundhouse to the ribs. Under Shokei Matsui’s tutelage, you’ll learn to vary the speed and angle of kicks so that opponents can’t easily predict your next move. Feints, pivots, and sudden direction changes all contribute to a dynamic style of kicking that keeps an adversary guessing. As Matsui himself emphasizes, the essence of Kyokushin striking lies in your ability to switch swiftly from defense to offense, transforming seemingly minor movements into opportunities for powerful attacks.

1-Lookism
This is from a wip I have on my docs but I am not sure if I will ever continue it or not.
So, we know that J High School has some specific departments and we got to know some of them besides the main characters.
And I admit that most of my favorite characters are in the Fashion department so it made me think what if Daniel's whole class had befriended each other at the beginning of their first year and grew closer each day?
Each chapter would be about the class' friendship and how the other students also help Daniel with the gang related things.
I have created some characters for Daniel's class and given a name/full name to others.
Also, the ships can be changed but I mostly used ocs for the ships(not all of them but for most so I will add the information of them below too). In the end, as long as it mostly centres on the fashion department class being friends and helping Daniel and the others through things that happened in canon, I don't care what else they do with the story(you can or cannot use the ocs)
I will leave the information about what I had in mind about the classmates, ships, etc.

THE DEVIL JUDGE // KDRAMA DİZİ YORUMU
UYARI : Yazılar genel olarak spoiler içerebilir. İçermeyedebilir.
İmdb puanı: 8,3 Benim puanım: 8
Drama: The Devil Judge (English & literal title)
Hangul:
Director: Choi Jung-Kyu
Writer: Moon Yoo-Seok
Episodes: 16
Date: 2021
Cast: Ji Sung, Kim Min-Jung, Jin Young, Park Gyu-Young, Ahn Nae-Sang, Jang Young-Nam, Baek Hyun-Jin, Jeon Chae-Eun
Eğer karmaşık karakterler, gerilim dolu hikayeler ve güçlü oyunculuklar izlemekten hoşlanıyorsanız, The Devil Judge doğru adres.
OST:
Huckle berry finn - Tempest
Sondia - Nightmare
Zeenan - What you gonna do
Huckle berry finn - The Night
The Devil Judge tells a dark and gripping story that questions the very meaning of justice in a dystopian world. Set in a time when society is on the brink of collapse, it takes place in a world where courtroom trials are broadcast live to the public. Throughout the series, it becomes increasingly difficult to distinguish who is truly good or evil, leading viewers on a tense and complex journey.
At the heart of it all is Kang Yo-Han (Ji Sung), a judge hailed as a hero by the people but shrouded in mystery and a dark past. Though he claims to fight in the name of justice, unraveling his true motives is nearly impossible. Ji Sung delivers a phenomenal performance, drawing viewers into Yo-Han’s charm and shadowy depths. I have to say—Ji Sung is an absolutely incredible actor. There are very few with his level of talent.
Opposite him is Jung Sun-A (Kim Min-Jung), Yo-Han’s greatest rival and one of the show’s most captivating characters. Her manipulative intelligence and magnetic presence are among the series’ strongest elements. Kim Min-Jung, who caught my attention in Mr. Sunshine, continues to impress here. Her ability to make even a villain charismatic remains firmly intact.
Kim Ga-On (Jin Young) is an idealistic judicial trainee who admires Kang Yo-Han and begins to question the corruption embedded in the system. Jin Young brings a natural touch to the role, though I must admit that next to seasoned actors like Ji Sung, his performance occasionally feels overshadowed. That said, he handles the role quite well, especially for someone who isn't yet an industry veteran—I wouldn’t want to be unfair.
Yoon Soo-Hyun (Park Gyu-Young), Ga-On’s childhood friend and a determined detective, doesn’t stand out much at first, but her role becomes increasingly significant as the story progresses. Her arc provides the series with its most emotional moments—actually, I’d say the only emotional moments in the show.
Themes of justice, power, and manipulation are boldly emphasized throughout. The Devil Judge isn’t just about the legal process—it’s a deep exploration of human limits and moral ambiguity. Visually, the drama is striking, especially with its courtroom scenes that create a captivating and immersive atmosphere.
Ji Sung’s outstanding performance elevates the entire series, while Kim Min-Jung’s enthralling antagonist, along with Jin Young and Park Gyu-Young’s grounded portrayals, round out the story beautifully. The ambiguity surrounding what justice truly means and who is in the right leaves the viewer pondering a new question with each episode.
If you enjoy complex characters, suspenseful narratives, and powerful performances, The Devil Judge is definitely worth watching.

Tree with deep roots
Year : 2019 | Country : KR | Nb of episodes: 24
My rate: 9/10
Synopsis :
Early in his reign, King Sejong inevitably causes the death of his in-laws and their slaves in an attempt to save them from his brutal father, King Taejong, mainly due to his lack of authority and power. Two young slaves, Ddol-bok and his friend Dam, survive but neither knows if the other has. Ddol-bok blames the king and vows to kill him to avenge the deaths of everyone he loved and spends years becoming a great warrior. Dam, who has a photographic memory, becomes a court lady called So-yi (Shin Se-kyung), but she feels so guilty about her role in the other slaves' deaths that she becomes mute.
Ddol-bok returns to the palace under the name of Kang Chae-yoon (Jang Hyuk) to kill the king. However, during his time there, he becomes embroiled in the mystery surrounding the deaths of several Hall of Worthies scholars. The deaths were caused by a secret society called "Hidden Root," which was created long ago by followers of Jeong Do-jeon, with the goal of giving more power to ministers and less to the king. King Taejong killed Jeong Do-jeon and all of his family except his nephew, Jeong Gi-joon, who is now the leader of Hidden Root and lives in disguise not far from King Sejong.
It soon becomes known that the king, with the help of So-yi and the Hall of Worthies scholars, has been working for years on a secret project, which turns out to be the creation of the Korean alphabet. While tracking Hidden Root, Kang Chae-yoon and So-yi each realizes who the other really is - Ddol-bok and Dam. Realizing that each other are the ones who they were dying to find, So-yi begins to speak. So-yi shows Chae-yoon the alphabet and describes how it will give more power to commoners. Chae-yoon is amazed with the simplicity of the alphabet and is convinced to work with the king instead of killing him.
However, Jeong Gi-joon believes that the new alphabet is a threat to Confucian order, and decides to stop it at all costs. He murders the king's son, but this only makes Sejong more determined. Jeong is able to stop the king's dissemination efforts, and on the day the alphabet is to be publicly announced, both So-yi and Chae-yoon are fatally wounded by Hidden Root members. However, through their sacrifices, the event is successful, and commoners begin to use Hangul.
 Main cast :
Han Suk-kyu as King Sejong/Yi Do
Song Joong Ki as Teen Yi Do
Kang San as child Yi Do
Jang Hyuk as Kang Chae Yoon/Dddol Bok
Yeo Jin Goo as Teen Ddol Bok
Chae Sang Woo as child Ddol Bok
Shin Se Kyung as So-Yi/Dam
Kim Hyun Soo as young Dam
Yoon Je Moon as Gi Joon/Ga Ri On
My thoughts on this drama :
I don't know where to begin. I'm a big fan of Korean history. I've lived in Seoul for a while too. I visited museums, spent time admiring the great King Sejong's statue in the center of Gwangwhamun plaza… I wondered how and why this man created one of the best alphabets in the world.
Now don't get me wrong, this is a drama. It's not a history course. But the background of it all is historical.
First excellent point: the casting. Han Suk Kyu made me believe he was Sejong. He has it all. The charisma, the wit, and the speech. Watching him, I wished I lived at that time and there.
Jang Hyuk has proven times and times again his talent, and he showcased it with brillance once more.
Second excellent point: the accuracy. I've studied Korean history, have books, and learnt Hangeul years ago. It's a scientific alphabet. And the drama did an excellent job explaining that fact.
It's a fantastic drama. It's ratings speak for themselves, it achieved a whooping average of 19% viewership. That's enormous. It also won the Best Drama award at the 2011 SBS Drama Awards Ceremony. That counts! If you haven't watched it yet, you know what you got to do!
 A Favorite ?

Sigh, I entered another kdrama drought. I scanned through It’s Okay to Not Be Okay and Flower of Evil. There are some things good about them but to me, they are not suitable for me to watch episode by episode. Perhaps for It’s Okay to Not Be Okay, it is dRoue to the setting? I felt that there is not enough thrill. For Flower of Evil, it is crime-related so I skipped through the cases. Felt that…

2022 kdrama/movie roundup!
It was a tough year for keeping up with anything because life, toddler, etc, but here are the things I watched, in part or whole, that I remembered. Hot Takes Incoming!
Sell Your Haunted House - Jang Nara in boots. Kang Mal-geum in dark lipstick. Touching, gay, many mother issues. The girls were fantastic. The boys weren't bad.
25 21 - I was dropped back into the 90s. Surprisingly, I didn't hate it. The girls were fantastic. Na Hee-do was correct to dump Baek Yi-jin. Moon Ji-woong, perfect boy. Ji Seung-wan for PRESIDENT!
Why Her? - Someone thought it'd be a great idea to throw Seo Hyun-jin's ex-client (shudder) current-student (TRIPLE SHUDDER) Hwang In-yeop into the romance mix when billionaire CHOI YOUNG-JOON and Crown Prince Bae In-hyuk were already there. And they thought it'd be funny if Hwang In-yeop won. NO.
Eve - The superior commentary this year on the horrors of capitalism. It ends with reparations (Park Byung-eun hands over his entire empire to Seo Yeji, who promptly divests it), rich people dying in horrible ways and Seo Yeji doing the tango. Were the makjang knobs dialled up so high they're broken? Yes. Was it fun? YES, because I got to see Park Byung-eun's range, which includes Pained Hottie, and Seo Yeji running men's feet over in cars wearing couture. We can ask for no more.
Juvenile Justice - No one asked "What happens if we take three of the most charismatic working actors in Korean entertainment today and squeezed the life out of them?" But someone answered anyway.
My Liberation Notes - Lee El, a revelation. Mr Gu, a revelation when he started talking, and not the good kind.
Grid - Kim Mu-yeol. Kim Ah-joong and Jang So-yeon had a great year. I didn't understand the time thing at all. This is a me problem, but probably the only time I'll face it this year. Right? RIGHT?
Bloody Heart - Jang Hyuk has done nothing wrong, ever. The girls were fantastic. Lee Joon, I heard your script was meant for Lee Joon-hyuk. Sorry.
Pachinko - The girls were fantastic. Kim Min-ha, baby, you're gorgeous. JUNG EUN-CHAE was everything. Sorry to Lee Min-ho, who had the tough double role of acting as Ko Hansu and also like he belonged to this cast of greats.
Our Blues - Great acting, but my own blues were sufficient for me. The girls were fantastic. Unwanted to wanted pregnancy storyline: no thanks. This is a me problem, but probably the only time I'll face it this year. Right? RIGHT?
Extraordinary Attorney Woo - 75% love; 25% NOT THIS AGAIN.
Little Women - The girls were fantastic. I ran out of air by this point in the year. I'll come back for you, gothic interior design, poison orchids, and Song Joong-ki in the best role he's played all year!
Through the Darkness - Almost too many twirling moustache psychos and dead girls. I did it for Kim Nam-gil because he's so pretty in this and in case it wasn't abundantly clear by now, I don't think with my brain. The lone living girl - Kim So-jin - was fantastic. Jin Seon-kyu, well-adjusted stealth hottie!
Reborn Rich - Samsung owes Lee Sung-min its entire semiconductor business as @rain-hat said. Lee Sung-min owes me reparations for making me watch this show for him primarily (secondarily Park Hyuk-kwon, Kim Shin-rok, Park Ji-hyun and Kim Nam-hee for their acting; Kim Young-jae because he is THE DILF). I'm manifesting NO TIMESLIPS in 2023 dramas.
Under the Queen's Umbrella - Kim Hye-soo pushing up her hanbok sleeves to carry babies and do embroidery should be projected onto my tombstone unto eternity. The girls were fantastic. And I know this is unusual, so bear with me, but: the boys? FANTASTIC ALSO.
Movies:
Vikram - Fahaadh Faasil, my thoughts are nasty and you don't want to hear them. The girls might have been fantastic had they been permitted to live and not be dumdums. That was never going to happen, of course. There was torture and a baby in significant peril, but it was also the most fun I'd had in a while. I should get my head checked.
Ponniyin Selvan - The sheer scale of work and sweat that has gone into the enterprise of making Vikram seem taller than Trisha Krishnan for the last twenty years! Iconic. The girls were fantastic.
The Naked Kitchen - This is sold as a story of a woman choosing between two men. That is a lie. It's about a man coming to terms with his marriage drifting into polyamory, and enjoying it. Shin Min-ah and Ju Ji-hoon fuck in a museum, which was also weirdly sweet.
Asura City of Madness - AHJUSSHIS WHY. Hwang Jung-min's shirttails worked very hard in 2012. Jung Woo-sung ate glass and has pathological issues about being as handsome as he is. We love him for it. We did not love this.
Hunt - Love is your bestie learning how to write and direct just to write and direct you in the role of a lifetime for you, personally. I don't know if that's what happened here, but that's what love is. And chemistry is whatever these two guys have in this completely ordinary movie that did not give any feelings. Hwang Jung-min, pussy OUT.
Decision to Leave - A well-deserved love letter to Tang Wei, just beautifully shot, gorgeous.
Il Mare - Absolutely lovely little film, reliant almost entirely on the star power of two actors who are so charismatic they don't need to meet in the movie to convince you of their romance.
Laal Singh Chaddha - There was a very beautiful wedding at the end. Aamir Khan's face must hurt.
Darlings - A movie that appreciated and respected noted hottie Shefali Shah.

THE FLOWER OF EVIL // KDRAMA DİZİ YORUMU
UYARI : Yazılar genel olarak spoiler içerebilir. İçermeyedebilir.
İmdb: 8,7 Benim puanım: 9
Drama: Flower of Evil (English title)
Hangul:
Director: Kim Cheol-Kyu
Writer: Yoo Jung-Hee
Date: 2020
Language: Korean
Country: South Korea
Cast: Lee Joon-Gi, Moon Chae-Won, Jang Hee-Jin, Seo Hyun-Woo, Choi Young-Joon
2021 (57th) BaekSang Arts Awards - May 13, 2021
Best Director (Kim Cheol-Kyu)
İzleme listemde en yüksek puana sahip diziye başlamaya karar verince karşıma çıkan dizi Flower of Evil oldu.
Do Min-Seok intihar etmeseydi ortaya çıkmayacak olan suçu şüphe çekerken, oğlu Do Hyun-Soo da onun suç ortağı olması ihtimali konuşulmaktadır.

Touch Your Heart / Reach of Sincerity (2019)
Tumblr media
I really liked this show. It was fun, quirky and cute with a few heavy moments to keep the show grounded. Not a headliner, but something you can put on and just hang out with for an hour or so and still enjoy.
What Worked
Yoo In-na carried the show. She was just a super cute ball of charm, and all the scenes with her and Lee Dong-wook (who not exactly grumpy, but definitely uptight) were great. This was the happy version of the same couple from Goblin, and I was there for it. The supporting cast was great as well, though only Oh Jung-se's performance was super memorable for me.
What Didn't Work
This show is not very realistic. Most of the time that works, but once in awhile a plot line or a scene will kind of fall flat. Also, I personally didn't like the Choi Yoon-hyuk / Dan Moon-hee pairing. The actors were fine on their own, but a bit too much together.
The Performances
Yoo In-na as Oh Jin-shim / Oh Yoon-seo, AKA "The Talent". Yoo In-na was so much fun to watch. She is just a really great comic actor who knows all about timing and has tons of charm.
Lee Dong-wook as Kwon Jung-rok, AKA "the Ace Attorney". It's funny how you can see him playing an angel of death in one series, and a straitlaced lawyer in another and they somehow end up being very similar characters. I still enjoyed watching him, especially when he was able to open up towards the end of the series, but the character felt very familiar to me after seeing Goblin.
Oh Jung-se as Yeon Joon-kyu, AKA "Fanboy CEO". I liked Oh Jung-se in this. His character was talking, extremely petty, and very funny. May favorite role for him since maybe IOK2NBOK.
Lee Sang-woo as Kim Se-won, AKA "The Bestie". He was billed as the second lead, but this felt more like a supporting role. I enjoyed him when he was there, especially his banter with Lee Dong-wook's character and the whole arc for him, but I didn't miss him when he was off screen.
Son Seong-yoon as Yoo Yeo-reum, AKA "Bestie's Ex". I liked this character, but the show didn't do much with the character arc, overall. Nice, but not memorable.
Jang So-yeon as Yang Eun-ji, AKA "Office Mom". I enjoyed seeing this actor again after her much bigger role in Something in the Rain. I don't like the arc they gave her, but it didn't really detract from the show, just kind of went nowhere.
Park Ji-hwan as Lee Doo-seob, AKA "Secret Poet". I liked seeing this actor, after watching him in Our Blues. I really related to this character, but they didn't really do much with him (other than a small love arc). Another case where they had a really good actor in a quiet role.
Oh Eui-shik as Kong Hyuk-joon, AKA "the Manager". It was fun seeing this guy play off of the other characters, but he was mostly there for comic relief and sometimes moving the plot forward. Not super memorable.
Everyone Else. The rest of the office staff was good, but not memorable. The guy that played the stalker / chaebol crook (Jay Kim) did a good job, but I was kind of glad when they moved past that plot line. I didn't like the "Black Widow" murder plot, but the actors did okay with what they were given.
TL; DR:
A charming romp with two amazing leads, and a good cast of supporting actors that didn't get much attention. But the fireworks from the leads were more than enough to carry the show.
