29. âYou could have warned me!â - Bobbie/Chrisjen
She didnât know how Chrisjen managed it, but she got Bobbie leave to come to Earth before she shipped out for the Ring. She also arranged her schedule for 24 hours with minimal interruptions, at her âreal fucking houseâ barring a crisis. Bobbie knew that that probably only gave her limited time with Chrisjen alone, but sheâd take it.
It was a gorgeous day. Bobbie had arrived at the Avasarala complex the afternoon before Chrisjen was due home. She changed out of her uniform, put on a sports bra and shorts and went for a run. On Mars, she trained in a simulated 1 g, but there was more of a challenge in running in actual 1 g. Afterward, she figured sheâd make a simple meal for them. She didnât want to waste time trying to navigate a restaurant with UN Secretary General.
She decided that sheâd make a salad using the abundance of fresh vegetables in the kitchen. Bobbie smiled. Chrisjen knew how much she loved fresh fruits and vegetables and it looked like she had fully stocked up. She found a channel streaming Martian pop from when she was in high school and began chopping things up while singing along (badly) and dancing.
When she finished with the salad, she heard the door open and Chrisjenâs distinctive voice in the entryway. Shit. She had wanted to shower before Chrisjen got home. She turned off the music with a motion of her hand and called out. âHey, I figured Iâd make some pasta tonight. We could carbo load because once I get you in bed I donât plan on you . . .â She turned the corner and yes, Chrisjen was there, wrapped in something gorgeous and purple and expensive. But her husband was also there. Bobbie blushed. âLeaving,â she finished.
Neither Chrisjen or her husband looked shocked by her and her declaration. In fact, Chrisjen smirked. Fuck. As much as Chrisjen assured her their relationship was fine with her husband, this was not how she wanted to met him. He held out his hand. âArjun Avasarala. You must be Bobbie.â
She hadnât felt this awkward since her first growth spurt that had made her a head taller than everyone else in her class. âI am, sir.â She shook his hand.
âDonât mind me,â he replied. âI forgot something I need for this weekendâs conference. Iâll just go to my office and grab it and leave you two in peace.â
When he disappeared down the hallway, Bobbie turned to Chrisjen. âYou couldâve warned me! I would have put on some clothing or at least not been yelling about having sex with his wife.â
Chrisjen rolled her eyes. âWhenâs the last time you checked your handheld?â
Bobbie realized she hadnât since she arrived at Chrisjenâs. When Chrisjen saw the realization dawn on Bobbie, she grinned and stood on her tip toes and kissed her. And even though it was a dumb idea, Bobbie didnât pull away from the kiss until she heard Chrisjenâs husband clear his throat. Jesus. She jumped away from Chrisjen.
âAll right, I have everything and I am off to Athens,â he said before he kissed Chrisjen goodbye. âIt was nice to meet you, Bobbie. Take care of her this weekend.â
âYes, sir.â Bobbie replied.
After he left, Bobbie flopped onto a couch. âFuck.â
Chrisjen came over, removing a heavy earring. âDonât worry.â She kissed Bobbie on the forehead. âNow what was that about feeding me and not letting me out of bed?â

Iâm most excited to see Chrisjen in her role as head of the UN in the new season. The final few eps of last season were (understandably) light on her but sheâs my absolute fave and I want to see more of her, particularly now her position has changed so much.
Nodnodnod Not gonna lie, Iâm a little worried about how theyâre going to fit everything in because CB is such a beast of a book, but given how the Ilus storyline is going to be very male dominated, Iâm very, very happy weâre not losing our women.
Any storyline where Avasarala is a boss ass bitch is going to be a damn good one. Especially when you consider she preferred to pull the strings from the sidelines. Having this position is likely going to be a blessing and a curse and watching her navigate a world where she may not be able to play the means she likes can be super interesting!Â

A.N.N.A. (private muse.). - Artificial Intelligence,Â
Bucky Barnes. - Winter Soldier, ex spec ops, private stack, brainwashed. (an elite protectorate operative who remembers very little, if anything, of his life before the military; his stack is kept on ice and dumped into whatever sleeve is available or needed for a wet work job before he is once again returned to the ice. Â (multiple plot options available re: true identity and restoring his memory, etc.))
Cal Lightman. - Deception expert, known to work w/ Bay City PD & others.
Carl Hickman. - BCPD. (a beleaguered grounder cop, has worked a number of departments over the decades, has settled into organic damage. Â possibility of captaincy in his future if he wasnât just quite so outspoken against the corruption and injustice that plagues the bay city police department & oversights.)
Chrisjen Avasarala. - Methuselah, UN ambassador / secretary general.
Clarice Starling. - Protectorate special investigator.
Clementine Pennyfeather. - sex worker / Earth, Bay City. ( a sex worker by trade who sends the majority of her funds off world to support her parents and her young siblings. Â clementine worked various brothels on the ground but has recently been hired to work at the head in the clouds; her stack was backed up without her knowledge by rei and her back up / stored memories have been used to revive her several times in a cloned sleeve with no knowledge of any previous deaths - she is the favorite of a particular few clients who are willing to pay the cloning costs for the repeat performance.)
Dig 301 (Annabelle Lee). - Archaeologue / co-proprietor of The Nevermore.
Emily Lightman. - student, daughter of Cal Lightman.
Enchantress. - Elder. SEE VERSE.
Frank Castle. - ex Protectorate / Wedge. Retired. Vigilante.
Galen Erso. Protectorate scientist.
Hanna Heller. - (the product of a secret protectorate project to craft supersoldiers from birth; when the project was blacklisted, the majority of the subjects were destroyed to prevent leakage of classified information; hanna was rescued by her âfatherâ erik heller. Â her life has consisted of learning to live off the grid while learning tactics, combat training and more to enable her to not only survive, but take down the elements in the protectorate and un that could prove a hazard to her continued existence.)
Hannibal Lecter. - Meth. Serial killer, cannibal, etc. (an intelligent social deviant with sadistic tendencies, whose intelligence and savvy, and now, his wealth and influence amassed over the last several hundred years enables him to toy with and take the lives of those around him that cause him displeasure, or are simply offensive to his sensibilities, with little to no fear of being incriminated in any of his many illegal activities.  by day, a very well renowned psychiatrist and chef, social artiste and culinary master; by night, a man lacking any true moral boundaries, master manipulator, murderer and cannibal.)Â
Inara Serra. - Companion to the Meths.
John Robinson. - Retired Protectorate general, explorer.
Jessica Jones. - private investigator.
June Moone. - Meth, Elder archeologist; SEE VERSE. (june is the daughter of a 250+ old meth, daniel moone, and his wife, maria devlin-moone who is a meth and also uses her contacts to enable black market drugs, flesh trade, arms & artifact smuggling on and off world. Â june is (usually) oblivious to her motherâs dealings, though there is a great deal of not so subtle animosity between mother and daughter with a clear preference in her motherâs eyes for juneâs older brother, jacob. Â june is a renowned Master Archaeologist and has run a number of dig sites across the universe. Â her specialty / obsession is the martians / ancients. Â sheâs still on the âyoungâ side for a meth, coming in at 69 years old.)
Kaylee Frye. - spaceship mechanic. (sheâs always had a way with machines, particularly anything with an engine, ancient or new.  she works at her dadâs shop off one of the main spaceports on earth.  she dreams of seeing the universe for herself, but without formal training and education, she hasnât had much hope of that outside of virtual vacations (which she scrimps and saves for every chance she can get). )
Kristin Ortega. - Bay City police detective. (a bay city police detective, organic damage division, bay city, earth, kristin is typically overworked, tired, and dealing with way too much paperwork. Â her father was a detective, killed on the job and now her dadâs old partner is now her official partner after elias ryker, her partner and lover, was framed for murder â and dealing with a corrupt captain isnât helping her uncover the truth behind rykerâs framing, or getting to the truth of the murders that ryker was investigating before things went south. Â (other timelines etc available, before and after season one, this is just the starting point for default.))
Laura Kinney. - (the product of illegal genetic experimentation by the protectorate, laura is typically on the run and trying to steer clear of the protectorate and or anyone else that might want to get their hands on the regenerative / healing abilities that her genetic code grants.  she has a stack but it isnât encoded / doesnât register as anything / anyone in particular when itâs scanned which means any encounter with police, security, anything that requires registration is a threat to her and flags her location in the system.  off the grid is her friend. )
Laurens Bancroft. - Methuselah; varies depending on verse/ timeline.
Malcolm Reynolds. -Â âretiredâ Quellist, ship captain, smuggler etc.
Naomi Nagata. - space ship engineer.

Quellcrist Falconer. - leader of the Quellist rebellion.
Reileen Kawahara. - crime syndicate boss & more. (sheâs got her fingers in all the black market / illicit trade / arms dealing / drug trade pies, she has blackmail and leverage on a ridiculously high percentage of those in the UN and the protectorate, on earth and elsewhere, and will do anything, literally anything, to get what she wants. Â yakuza era, envoy era, post envoy merc era, and kingpin era / season one era available. Â (more info available on request for any of these.))
Rick Flag. - spec ops, Protectorate special division.
Riddick. - sole survivor of planet Furya, criminal, rogue. ( Â murderer, escapee from a dozen max security prisons, somehow still in his original sleeve (what can he say, heâs attached to it), riddick is a genetic aberration, one of the few survivors of an off shoot of humanity from the now desolated planet furya. Â he exists off the grid, in the shadows, and if you see it coming itâs probably because he wants you to. Â (various plots available.))
River Tam. - Protectorate experiment; psychic; super soldier. SEE VERSE. (varies for plot.) (an elite soldier, gifted from birth and augmented further by the protectorate, river was one of the few that survived the process that created the elite unit crafted to hunt and track the envoys during the quellist rebellion. Â her ability to adapt, to absorb, to blend, to merge efficiently in any sleeve rivals that of the envoys, and she has altered abilities - precog and telepathy, though some say itâs just intuition and being able to predict the variables of any given situation, given enough data. Â envoy era & âmodernâ season plots available.)
Rupert Giles. - historian. Â
Takeshi Kovacs. - ex Protectorate spec ops; Quellist. ( leveraged into service into an elite protectorate black ops squad at the tender age of ten, takeshi spent the next 20-30 years killing, torturing, decimating rebellious forces and or whomever the protectorate sent him after.  when reunited with someone from his past, he fled the protectorate and went on the run, joining the quellist rebellion until that too, was destroyed.  he spent the next handful of years on the run and doing various degrees of merc / wet work until he was gunned down and put on ice.  250+ years later, he gets pulled out to solve the murder of a methuselah - a 350+ year old man who promises him a fortune, a sleeve of his choice, and a clean slate / pardon if he can find the truth behind the murder⊠but there are so many more things at play than either of them could guess and it takes all of a night for things to go from bad to worse.  (protectorate, envoy, merc, season one & post season one plots available.))
Winifred Burkle. - (a skilled astrophysicist and virtual reality coder, fred was recruited into the protectorate in her university years. Â it took her almost a decade for her to discover what the protectorate was truly using her work for and she waited for the opportunity to not just sabotage her research and the protectorateâs work, but to flee. Â backing herself up, sheâs double-sleeved. Â she exists in the forays of the web, keeping herself mostly out of trouble, just wanting to try and find a way to undo the damage that her work was used for (brainwashing & torture). Â her second sleeve is root, @magicandsciencemuses who has, unbeknownst to fred, made a triplicate, whiskey, who uses her wiles and skills to ferret information and blackmail visitors of some of the elite brothels of earth.)
Villanelle. - assassin for hire.
Wilson Fisk. - crime lord.
Alena Mayberry. - SEE VERSE.
Alexander Petrakis. - Methuselah.
Ariel Hayden. - Methâs daughter; runaway; high bounty on head.(the daughter of a methuselah who has left her world behind; traveled in cold storage in slow lanes to minimize risk of discovery. Â has a small fortune at her disposal that she squirreled away but knows she has to make it last. Â has an altered identity stack and is in a new, black market sleeve. Â can be on earth or any world really. Â just wants to see the universe without her fatherâs restrictive / protective rules in place. Â probably has a bounty for her SAFE return to her homeworld._)
Ashen Zenon. - High level merc / assassin for hire.
Belle Duponte. - Earth grounder, works to pay off fatherâs debt / sleeve. (the daughter of an once highly regarded scientist who has been shunned for his studies, she struggles to keep food in their stomachs and a roof over their head. Â she works several part time jobs, including at an antique book store that also specializes in luxury station, ink, quills, etc. and works part time as a waitress and as a âlab techâ aka grunt labor at the local prison / re-sleeving facility. Â she is in her first, and likely, only sleeve.)
Felicia Adams. - geneticist, emergency care doctor / works at psychasec. (a doctor and geneticist, felicia plies her trade at psychasec modeling and crafting the elite and bizarre sleeves designed for the methuselahs of earth. Â the health insurance and re-sleeving package perks are the only reason that she continues to work there as she has a young daughter that suffers from a genetic disorder and requires constant care until felicia can afford a complete genetic makeover and re-sleeve into a healthy clone. Â (definitely options for her to get dragged into illegal / black market schemes for a quick buck. Â also possibilities for the Trouble that is the daughterâs dad to show up and find them too.))
Laurel Isley.. - Meth, brothel owner, sociopath; SEE VERSE. (a meth with her feet on the ground and her fingers in the muck, laurel runs several elite brothels that cater to the worst of the worst desires of the meths that want to play at being bad and the few grounders that can afford her services. Â her brothels also serve as anonymous meeting grounds for certain clients vs. service providers - mercs, assassins, etc. that she arranges for a âsmallâ fee. Â she also is a pro at creating false idents, which is no easy feat in this day and age. she is very much a sadomasochist and indulges her desires in the real and virtual whenever she finds a suitable playmate (willing or otherwise).)
Petra Nikonova. - verse dependent.
Rori Dearing. - bartender, tattoo artist. SEE VERSE. ( a young and rebellious meth, a social warrior, rori is the younger sister of @magicandsciencemuses âs claire dearing.  she is a human rights / sleeve rights activist and is often found at rallies and protests regarding various lack of rights for prisoners, military service members, victims that are given the worst of the sleeves available, and in general, the money making machine that is the protectorateâs prison system, and the utter lack of opportunity for reform and education.  she works as a 3-d / interactive tattoo artist and a part time bartender. )
Saori Dearing. - daughter of planetary governor, Quellist. SEE VERSE. ( the daughter of the lord governor on harlanâs world, saori is a secret ally and informant to the quellist rebellion. Â most of her plots take place during the envoy era where she works with quell to provide military information, travel codes, and helps supply weapons, food and basic supplies to the rebellion on harlanâs world / elsewhere. Â (I have verses where she is involved romantically with Quell and or Takeshi but that isnât a necessity for plots!) she is primarily envoy based but aus / plots can be worked out for âmodernâ day plots.)

Expanse new season

Expanse new season plus#
Expanse new season series#
There are some clear nods to this season being the end, including a barrage of cameos from past regular and recurring characters. And others, like Amos (Wes Chatham) and United Nations Secretary-General Chrisjen Avasarala (Shohreh Agdashloo), remain scene-stealers the latterâs propensity for eloquent cursing never gets old. Cara Geeâs Belter pirate Drummer, who steadily became one of the showâs central threads, gets a satisfying arc to close her story. Central protagonist James Holden (Steven Strait) at times feels like heâs sidelined in the first half of the season, but pulls off a powerful turn in the back half. Somehow it manages to be entertaining at the same time.Äespite the life-or-death stakes, Season 6 still makes time for the intimate interactions of the Rocinante crew, with each actor getting quiet moments to shine. Itâs a political show done right, and much of Season 6 explores how an extremist like Inaros could thrive in a frayed political climate, and how wars canât end by bullets alone. While much of the show has been driven by the protomolecule and its implications, the backbone of The Expanse is its nuanced look at inequality and power. Season 6 picks up with the dark aftermath of that attack and the effort to fight back against the increasingly powerful Inaros, centering on the crew of the spaceship Rocinante as they navigate war and politics. Last season, Marco Inaros (Keon Alexander) took advantage of all that conflict by organizing his Belter Free Navy and pummeling Earth with asteroids, leaving the planet to slowly die.
Expanse new season plus#
But this final stretch had its own challenges namely, a shortened season that had only six episodes to tie up the conflict between Earth, Mars, and the inhabitants of the Belt, plus cover the more fantastical elements tied to the alien protomolecule and the interstellar gate system it opened. Thatâs not too surprising, considering the first five seasonsâ ability to nimbly and faithfully adapt James S.A. 10, and theyâre among the seriesâ strongest and tightest in both pacing and plot.
Expanse new season series#
But with its sixth and final season, The Expanse is the rare genre series that pulls it off.ÄȘmazon Prime Videoâs sci-fi epic began wrapping up its final batch of episodes on Dec. Nailing a TV finale is no easy feat-just look at Lostâs oft-mocked ending and the disappointing disaster that was Game of Thronesâ coda.

Nemesis Games by James S.A. Corey. Book 6 of The Expanse series. "I made my name with the story on the Behemoth. Aliens and wormhole gates and a protomolecule ghost that only talked to the most famous person in the solar system. I don't think my follow-up to that can be "Humans Still Shitty to Each Other". Lacks panache." That's Monica Stuart, a journalist looking for her next story, but it makes a fairly good summary of Nemesis Games as well â though I'd disagree about it lacking panache. After five books of zombie viruses and a vast galaxy of empty planets for the taking and physics-defying abandoned security systems, Nemesis Games features pretty much no alien content at all. Instead we have humanity reacting to these events, mostly in negative ways that feature them being, well, shitty to each other. The biggest reaction comes from the Belters, millions of humans born and raised in no-gravity or low-gravity. Those conditions have led to extremely low bone-mass (among other physical adaptations), which means all those new planets out there for the taking? The Belters won't be going to them, at least not without months or years of expensive medical therapy that's out of reach for most of them. They can see the future coming, and it's going to abandon them to poverty and irrelevance. They lash out with terrorist attacks on a scale grander than any before, as though enough violence will force humanity back to where it was before the first encounter with the alien protomolecule. That might be an impossible goal, but a hell of a lot of people are going to die anyway. Meanwhile, the spaceship Rocinante is in need of repairs, which means our four main characters are out of action for a few months. They take this opportunity to split up and visit family and old friends â Amos to Earth, Alex to Mars, Naomi to the Belt, and Jim stays with the ship at the repair station. Having separate plotlines means that each one gets their own POV, and you guys, I was so excited! I've been waiting to hear Naomi or Alex's voice since Book One, and this does not disappoint. Amos's narration was particularly well-written; he's a straight-up sociopath (though one who tries to do good nonetheless) and struggles to recognize emotions either in himself or in others, often defaulting to describing social situations as a set of maneuvers toward a desired outcome. It lends his POV a curiously flat tone, but one that is really interesting to read. The four crew members are still separated when the terrorist attacks begin, and most of the emotion in the book comes from them trying to desperately make their way back to one another. Each one thinks of the others as family, as home â this is such an absolute fantastic series for those Chosen Family feels â especially Jim, and who would have thought the boring action hero of Book One could become such an adorable softie? He spends a significant portion of this book being sad that no one will do the space-equivalent of texting him back, and I love him so much. Holden could sit at a tiny table skimming the latest news on his hand terminal, reading messages, and finally check out all the books heâd downloaded over the last six years. The bar served the same food as the restaurant out front, and while it was not something anyone from Earth would have mistaken for Italian, it was edible. The cocktails were mediocre and cheap. It might almost have been tolerable if Naomi hadnât seemingly fallen out of the universe. Alex sent regular updates about where he was and what he was up to. Amos had his terminal automatically send a message letting Holden know his flight had landed on Luna, and then New York. From Naomi, nothing. She still existed, or at least her hand terminal did. The messages he sent arrived somewhere. He never got a failed connection from the network. But the successfully received message was his only reply. After a couple weeks of his new bad Italian food and cheap cocktails routine, his terminal finally rang with an incoming voice request. He knew it couldnât be from Naomi. The light lag made a live connection unworkable for any two people not living on the same station. But he still pulled the terminal out of his pocket so fast that he fumbled it across the room. Each character gets to star in a very different genre within this one book: Jim himself is in a political thriller, trying to find the mole hidden in the security forces; Amos is making his way through a post-apocalyptic landscape; Naomi is in a prison-break movie; and Alex gets at least two extremely cool car chases (well, spaceship chases) between being a detective following the paper trail. All of them are great, but I think my favorite is Naomi's, which is an incredible depiction of the harm and suffocation of emotional abuse (gaslighting in particular) and the depression and learned helplessness that can result, especially when everyone around you sees nothing wrong. We get a lot more about her long-awaited backstory, as well as Amos's, and there are reappearances of a lot of my favorite secondary characters: Martian marine Bobbie, failed murderer Clarissa Mao, foul-mouthed politician Chrisjen Avasarala. (Though I'm still holding out hope Prax will show up again someday; I miss him.) All through The Expanse series I've admired Corey's focus on petty human squabbling and politicking in the face of grand, universe-changing discoveries. Nemesis Games is that thread turned up to eleven. It's not a cynical series, though; for every narrow-minded failure there's an equally small but important triumph of friendship or justice or well-meaning. It reminds me of Terry Pratchett, in a way. Not at all in Corey's style of writing or type of humor, but they both have a view of humanity which is simultaneously realistic and fond and exasperated. And if there's a bigger compliment than that, I don't know what it is. Artificial Condition by Martha Wells. Book 2 of the Murderbot Diaries. A security robot/cyborg armed with all sorts of guns and other methods of killing has hacked its governor module, allowing it to do whatever it wants, and nicknames itself Murderbot. But it turns out that what Murderbot really wants to do is spend hours watching dumb sci-fi TV shows, avoid eye contact or any social encounters with humans, and not have to deal with its own emotions. Unfortunately that last one is hard to avoid. In this book, Murderbot is heading to a mining planet where it knows something bad went down in its past, involving lots of human deaths. But Murderbot can't remember exactly what happened, since its memory was wiped, and so it's off to investigate. Getting to the planet means hitching a ride on a spaceship run by a massively complicated AI (which Murderbot promptly nicknames ART: Asshole Research Transport) and then getting a job as a human bodyguard to a group of scientists heading down to the planet's surface. Things, unsurprisingly, go wrong, and Murderbot finds itself with another pack of dumb humans in need of protection. I enjoyed Artificial Condition a lot, but it's not quite as good as the first book in the series, All Systems Red. Part of that is very simply that it's a middle book of the series, and it shows; progress in the larger plot is made, but not much, and there's a feeling of spinning our wheels while we wait for big events to happen. That said, it's still an extremely enjoyable novella (only about 120 pages), which builds out the world from what we learned in All Systems Red. Now we have sexbots and ship navigators, more about how different governments interact and function (or don't), and some hints as to what's going on with the company that created Murderbot. Plus there's Murderbot's wonderful narration, which honestly is worth the price of admission all on its own. A section from where it introduces ART to trashy entertainment: I watched seven more episodes of Sanctuary Moon with it hanging around my feed. Then it pinged me, like I somehow might not know it had been in my feed all this time, and sent me a request to go back to the new adventure show I had started to watch when it had interrupted me. (It was called Worldhoppers, and was about freelance explorers who extended the wormhole and ring networks into uninhabited star systems. It looked very unrealistic and inaccurate, which was exactly what I liked.) [...] âItâs not realistic,â I told it. âItâs not supposed to be realistic. Itâs a story, not a documentary. If you complain about that, Iâll stop watching.â I will refrain from complaint, it said. (Imagine that in the most sarcastic tone you can, and youâll have some idea of how it sounded.) So we watched Worldhoppers. It didnât complain about the lack of realism. After three episodes, it got agitated whenever a minor character was killed. When a major character died in the twentieth episode I had to pause seven minutes while it sat there in the feed doing the bot equivalent of staring at a wall, pretending that it had to run diagnostics. Then four episodes later the character came back to life and it was so relieved we had to watch that episode three times before it would go on. At the climax of one of the main story lines, the plot suggested the ship might be catastrophically damaged and members of the crew killed or injured, and the transport was afraid to watch it. (Thatâs obviously not how it phrased it, but yeah, it was afraid to watch it.) I was feeling a lot more charitable toward it by that point so was willing to let it ease into the episode by watching one to two minutes at a time. After it was over, it just sat there, not even pretending to do diagnostics. It sat there for a full ten minutes, which is a lot of processing time for a bot that sophisticated. Then it said, Again, please. So I started the first episode again. C'mon, tell me you wouldn't read a million pages of that, plot or no plot.

Laura Roslin (battlestar galactica)ok so Laura will always be my number one bc Laura is the one i relate to the most. like⊠on a deep dark messed up personal level, also i feel like my whole life is a big messy rant about Laura and theres not much left to say: i would throw myself out of an airlock for her. sheâs strong, sheâs a fighter, sheâs in charge, sheâs the one that always has to make the hard decisions bc all the men around her talk the talk but when the time comes and they are faced with a moral dilemma and thereâs no way of knowing what the right choice is, suddenly theyâre all like âi know i said the military should be in charge, and that youâre just a schoolteacher and im the Big Macho Manâą but this is too hard đđđ and i dont want people to hate meââŠ. ok that might be more specific that i intendedâŠ..she steps up to the plate and she takes whatever its thrown her way. i goddamn fucking love laura roslin
Kathryn Janeway (star trek voyager)janeway is a fucking boss. she just is. sheâs also the best captain, sorry boysnerves of steel, authoritative af, listen to others but always trusts her instincts, diplomatic, kickass, avid coffee drinker, takes care of her people. 10/10 would drink neelixâs coffee substitute for herâŠâŠâŠ.. ok maybe 8/10 that thing looked nasty
Briony Tallis (atonement)sheâs been my favorite literature character (apart from hp universe) for years. really messed up, trying very hard to atone for her past mistakes and finally realizing thats not always possible
Minerva McGonagall (harry potter)i dont have to say anything, everyone loves Minnie McGee and so they should. BAMF
Albus Dumbledore (harry potter)listen, i grew up with harry potter and just like it happened with harry, dumble was the only father figure i had. unlike the snape discourse (where im 100% with calling him an asshole bc he was) i have some issues dealing with people who think dumbledore was a bad person. i remember looking up to him as a child, he was kind and accepting of others and he had that omniscient thing about him. if something was scary (bear in mind i started reading the hp books at age 9) the moment dumbledore showed up i felt safe, and it felt like i didnât have to worry anymore bc dumbles was there. as i grew up i started to realize he wasnât infallible, but although he made mistakes his heart was always in the right place. im a little pragmatic so i understand the necessity of making questionable decisions for âthe greater goodâ, and it also made me feel for him to see how much it troubled him. i could go on and on about this tho, and im fighting the urge to give examples and analyse every one of them. i just have a lot of feels about dumbledoreâŠ.
Severus Snape (harry potter)oh boy oh boy, iâll keep this one short because this one is a handful.
i love snape as a character
i think snape is an asshole
i 100% accept when people hate snape
snape was a bully
BUT i hate when people hate on him for the wrong reasons
hereâs the thing: snape represents redemption. heâs someone who made terrible mistakes in his youth (mmm, theres a theme here somewhere) and committed himself to spend the rest of his life trying to make up for it (again, not always possible). so it bothers me when people crucify snape for what he did in his youth, but never have anything to say about james potter.so again, snape was an asshole who used his position as an authority figure to bully children. he was the worst. you have plenty to hate on him there (rightfully so)
Theresa Cullen (westworld)god this was such a good character, i started calling her a future roslin bc i had such hopes for her in the future. she was complex, smart, sassy, and even had her own gaius baltarâŠ. but âŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠ SPOILERSâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠ.. she dead.Â
Birgitte Nyborg (borgen)now i cant say much about birgitte bc im still on season two and i have a feeling weâre gonna get a lot of character development soon. hereâs someone who got into politics bc she wanted to do the right thing and soon realized politics is the devilâs playground. itâs very interesting for me to watch birgitte navigating her way through the intricacies of modern politics and trying to preserve her morals and idealismalso her husband is a jerk
Sharon Raydor (the closer)now i make a pretty big distinction between the closerâs sharon raydor and major crimesâ sharon raydor. not that i dont adore the later but its not the same character. i LOVED sassy, quirky, awkward sharon okay? i love sharonâs raised eyebrow and low hums when faced with brendaâs chaotic methods. i love how awkward and out of place she was in social situations. I LOVE HER STUPID LITTLE WAVE AT THE CAMERA WHEN BRENDA IS UNDERCOVER I LOVE WHEN SHE KEEPS BEING HIT BY DOORS BC THIS IDIOT IS TOO UNCOMFORTABLE TO ACTUALLY STAND IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROOM, shes an adorable little turtle and i love her
Chrisjen Avasarala (the expanse)my youngest, came in like a wrecking ball.this is the HOLY GRAIL OF ALL BADASS LADIES okay? sheâs the most unapologetic sass queen ive ever encountered. she looks AMAZING sari game on point. owns every single person in the roomsheâs laura roslin if laura roslin was fire instead of ice. IM IN LOVE

This is a permanent starter call for the character CHRISJEN AVASARALA from the Syfy/Amazon show & book series by James S. A. Corey, The Expanse. (Though I am always happy to work in other verses, so even if your muse is not a sci-fi based character or if you donât really know much about The Expanse and still want to interact, feel free to let me know.) You can like this post or reply to it (especially if youâre a multi-muse, specifying which characters you have that youâd like to interact with this character) to let me know that youâre a roleplay blog that would be interested in receiving random starters from Chrisjen when / if I feel like tossing stuff out there.  It may also result in random memes from them or being tagged in stuff that fits etc. Â
You can find Chrisjenâs master navigation post HERE which does (or will) include videos that offer insight into their character, gifsets, quotes, a biography and verse write ups to help you get to know more about them.  You can find all my permanent starter calls for this blog HERE.

like and or reply to this post if you would like to be considered a main go to for writing and scheming and plot ideas that i come up with for this character. i would prefer that weâd had some ic or ooc interactions but honestly if you just really love this character and want to do something, feel free to hit the heart. Â
i do require that we be mutuals. if you are following me and or a side blog and i donât follow you you can always send me a politely worded message asking me to check out your blog etc. but please be patient and respect my right to not follow or write with someone if i am not comfortable for any reason! Â
being a main means i will randomly poke you with ideas, might drop starters, memes, make aesthetics, gif sets etc. for us and that you will be among those i go to first with any new plot arcs that i come up with. if at any time you are no longer interested in being a main, simply let me know and i will remove your name from the list below. Â
if you are a multi please reply or send me an inbox or im message with what character(s) of yours you see as being best compatible with CHRISJEN so that i can make notes accordingly.
if you donât know the character but would like to get more info on them to make a decision about whether you want to be a main you can check out my master navigation post HERE or the character list HERE which has primary links to info here & on the web. some of them donât have a lot of info up here yet but wiki links should be semi helpful for the basics. you can also check out bio, headcanons, verse write ups if there are any. videos i post here can be incredibly insightful for basic overview / dialogue / syntax / personality / general clues about the characters and whether you think yours is compatible. you are always welcome to send specific questions you have to my inbox. there might be a few with very little info actually available, or none at all, and i apologize for that - i am working on getting some basic info up for everyone but i am crazy busy with real life responsibilities right now and sometimes i just want to focus on ic writing rather than blog organization & info. Â
MAINS for Chrisjen Avasarala.
