Re: your way of the househusband post, I actually had a dream where I was watching a new episode where Tatsu was telling this group of gangsters about the restaurants he's worked with and all the different types of food they make. As he was describing one dish an old lady passed by and was like "hmph bet it's not as good as my home cooking" and Tatsu was like "ma'am I must respectfully disagree bc I've worked in these restaurants and I can personally guarantee these dishes are top notch!!" and the grandma was like "well then, the only way to settle this is with a COOKING BATTLE!!"
So she and Tatsu pull out their cooking gear right there in the middle of the street while all the gangsters are watching with various degrees of shock and confusion and Tatsu's like "would you like to stop by the store to get ingredients ma'am" and she's like "you don't always have the ingredients on hand to make something for a cooking battle??? Weak." and she pulled out a whole fucking fish and started grilling it
Tatsu just kinda nodded in respect and started grilling his own fish lmao
This is not at all related to genshin but I thought it was funny to share lol
WAIT WTF HAHAHAHAHA HOW DO YOU HAVE SUCH GOOD AND DETAILED DREAMS GDI
Honestly so commendable, it fits the theme so well it might as well be an actual episode and I wouldn't doubt you, I wanna watch that it's amazing - wait I just realized it's a grandma too LWNDKDBLWMS i love it

Idk how I feel abt her conversation with her dad? He’s saying ‘I’ll give him some time to prove himself first’ but like… that’s not commendable by itself. Like that’s still problematic? Lol

i.. uh.. wanted to hurt myself and so i watched for the first time A:AoU (bc when it came out i spoilt myself and read the wiki page). what a f-ing mess of a movie. can't believe twiffon isn't canon. what the heck was that sokovia mess? also: JARVIS, my poor skynet child. bonus: natasha/bruce, really? of all the possible pairings for natasha, you go w/ *bruce*? what the hell, whedon? bruce didn't deserve that shit. just gimme science bros w/ tony.
I tip my hat to you, friend. I’d gone in slightly wary [because, as I’d mentioned in another post, the way they’d promoted it had me expecting something very, very different], and somehow, it was even worse than what I’d feared.
Just—I think my dislike showed in how I approached [read: scrapped] the AoU arc, when it came up in TWiFFON, and that was me limiting myself and venting as passive-aggressively as I could, to keep from going into a several-page long rant. Of the MCU movies I’ve seen thus far, AoU only ranks below one (1) other, in terms of how much I disliked it, and considering that other movie’s Civil War? Not exactly a ringing endorsement.
Narratively speaking, it was a train wreck, and I can’t help but commend the actors for doing their best with some of the worst writing I’ve seen since watching shows that jumped the shark three seasons back. [Like, serious kudos, right there.]
I…don’t really have words for it, actually. There’s probably dozens of posts out there covering some of what you’ve brought up in far greater depth, plus preaching to the choir, here. [JARVIS lives, I’ll fight anyone who says otherwise.]
However, I will say that I’m very disappointed with how the writers handle female characters because in this case, a) not every woman wants to have kids, gdi, and b) forced romance subplots fall even flatter when there’s absolutely no chemistry whatsoever beforehand. I have quite a few headcanons where Natasha’s concerned, and it’s basically the opposite of what we see from her in AoU.
Bruce, too, though his character is one that should’ve been tweaked back in IM3 because the way they did his cameo’s a different rant for another post. His character in AoU also took quite a beating, and by the end of it, a good chunk of my respect for him was killed off because I didn’t think I’d see a live-action movie have characters more OOC than a low-budget children’s cartoon but there you have it.
There won’t be Science Bros in TWiFFON, since Tony’s stepped back emotionally a while back [kicked off by the scene in question], but…that’s just one fic. I have a shatterpoint with that, and several fanfics where it’s not necessarily a central theme but still present, because it’s one of my favorite headcanons and one of the reasons I’ve been slowly noping out of canon for a while now. [Life’s stressful enough, no need to have my entertainment go all Dark and Grittier™ on me too]
Worldbuilding-wise…um. TWiFFON’s supposed to be a crackfic about [accidental] world domination, with me trying to throw in a few things to keep things plausible, as well as shameless self-indulgence where I can fit it in. [Plus, again, it’s basically a passive-aggressive essay about how much canon’s dropped the ball.] There was a lot going on in AoU that I took a crack at, and that was me trying to avoid bashing as much as I could, so make of that what you will.

▲ what's your most honest and blunt opinion on each crew member?
– send▲ and a question your muse (or you) has always wanted to ask henry –
henry frowns lightly when he finds the question waiting for him in the engine room. so someone aboard this ship wants him to give everyone his honest and blunt opinion on them? well, not that that is not something he’d do if ever anyone asked him for it themselves, but for some reason he’s in the mood for doing something random.
and what could be more random than walking up to everyone aboard this entire ship and telling them what he thinks of them - no matter what it may be. he knows he doesn’t harbour any too ill feelings towards any of them to warrant becoming hurtful, after all, so there doesn’t seem to be a harm in this quest.
which is why, armed with the note in hand, henry sets out to find all the current inhabitants of serenity, in a quest of simple honesty. every time he finds a new person, he lifts up the note and points at it, allowing the person time to read the question before he speaks his mind.
@syjaewon : “dude i don’t like this any more than you do, but you’re honestly cool, okay? if i were much younger and more impressionable i’d probably idolise you or something. as it stands you’re just an annoying piece of shit most of the time but you know your job and you make the right calls.” he gives jaewon a short look before his eyes glance away again so he does not have to look at the captain while he’s stating his feelings so honestly. “…most of the time. but nobody blames you for the few times you’re wrong. everyone is wrong sometimes. just… yeah, whatever.” with that, he quickly trudges off again, not willing to spill more words (and embarrassment) on this issue.
@syxmina : “look you remind me of my older sister a lot. which means you are automatically both the most annoying woman i’ve ever met as well as the coolest. you do with that information as you wish, but if you mention it to anyone else i will sneak into your quarters in the middle of the night and pour ice cubes on your feet.” he gives a decided nod of his head before handing her a muesli bar and walking off again.
@sysullivan : instead of speaking, he just ruffles sullivan’s hair gently, then pulls him into a hug. without saying another word, he quietly walks off again.
@sycasta : henry’s eyes temporarily take in the man, before he shrugs his shoulders lightly. “i don’t know man, i don’t know you. see ya.” he continues on his quest to find more crew members to be honest to.
@syxephraim : “you’re the absolute sweetest person i’ve come across so far. you should think a little more of your own well-being instead of continuously putting others’ ahead of yours. you’re important too, you know. i really wish you’ll find your happiness - you deserve it.” he smiles warmly at the chef before throwing an arm around his shoulders. “also do you have anything yummy for me to eat cause i’m starving. telling people how i think about them is exhausting.”
@syjohnny : “look, man, i’m pretty sure you ain’t never seen a big dog in your life, but i’ll keep that a secret. i don’t want to ruin your reputation, you see.” giving the mercenary a pat on his shoulder, henry continues his way as if that was a normal thing to say.
@neosy : “i don’t feel very much for you in either direction, to be honest. maybe i think you’re a little touchy-feely for your own good, but it ain’t my problem.”
@syxjiyong : henry’s quiet for a moment, hesitant even, before eventually showing her the note. then he shrugs. “i think you’re really beautiful. a clearly independent woman who’s got her own life figured out. it’s commendable. i hope you’ll have a good life that you’ll be content about.” he sends her a bit of a smile, followed by a slightly sheepish grin. “and please still feel free to let me know if you need anything fixed, alright?”
@kamorasy : surprisingly approaching kamora is not any more difficult than approaching the others. in fact, it’s somewhat easier perhaps considering he’s always been more capable of opening up to her than he has been with anyone else. excluding yihan, of course. so when he lowers the note again, he beams a cheerful smile at the companion before opening his arms wide and pulling her into a proper hug. “i apologise but i was told to be honest and blunt so i will just straightforwardly say you remind me a lot of my mother. which means as much as that you are really dependable and warm and comforting. as well as when you frown i almost automatically want to say that ‘it really wasn’t me, mom.’” he chuckles lightly as he lets go again, lifting a hand to wave at her. “pretend i never said that, okay?” and with that, he’s moving on yet again.
@syphineas : “you’re cool. i don’t mind you loitering around the engine room. although i do think you’re a little bit too obsessed with the whole pirate thing, but hey, who am i to judge? you do you, man.” he gives the guy an encouraging pat on his back, then moves on to his fellow engineer.
@syaudrey : “you know as long as you don’t pop your chewing gum bubbles too close to my ear you can do anything you want. i’m pretty sure you won’t do anything stupid where serenity’s concerned and outside of that you do whatever the hell you want, i don’t really care.” he shrugs with a slight grin, before reaching out to tap her cap so it slides over her eyes more. “maybe i’ll leave the ship to you one day when you’re old enough.”
@syminsu : “you’re the man, dude, you’re the man.” he proceeds to fistbump minsu then moves on.
@sysidereus : “you’re quite the annoying piece of shit, i hope you know that. i am aware you came to my rescue when the motor of my machine blew out, but that is hardly cause to try and supervise every time i’m working on the engine. i know what i’m doing and i won’t take risks like that with the entire ship, for crying out loud. why does everyone keep thinking that? just gorram leave me alone, alright?” shooting another properly angry look at the male, henry then turns on his heels and leaves again.
(gdi why are there SO MANY frigging people on this ship???)
@syfisher : henry blinks at the guy he comes across next a few times, before just shaking his head and moving on, not even bothering with the note. - has he even seen this guy before?
@syxsonmi : henry doesn’t really want to show sonmi the note, doesn’t think it’d do any good. so instead of raising the note, he raises a bar he knows she really loves the flavour of and reaches it out to her. smiling at her warmly as she attacks the precious condiment, he gently strokes over her hair a few times before letting his eyes scan over her stuff to make sure she still has plenty of blankets and necessary utilities. giving her a small nod, he then proceeds to leave again.
@sylandcoltrane : “i’ve honestly not seen you often enough to form any type of opinion on you, so there you have it.”
@sycelestine : “uh.. do i know you?” henry stares at the woman for a few more moments before shaking his head and just moving on.
@syxkafka : “look, you’re a cool guy, ok? i could just do with less reminders of home sometimes and you’re honestly like a glaring, screaming reminder all by yourself. it’s not your fault, though. don’t take it personally.”
@syxsol : “i don’t know, sol, i think you should just hug eph for a really long time and then proceed to find better things to occupy yourself with than idolising an engineer with no skills for anything other than metal. but thanks for saving my life, man.”
@syxyihan : henry spontaneously falls into yihan’s arms the second he finally reaches the taller priest’s quarters. tiredly raising the note with the question on, he gives his lover a few moments to read it. leaning in then, he gives a tiny little kiss on the corner of yihan’s mouth, before gingerly tucking the piece of paper into the pilot’s hand and then proceeding to curl up on yihan’s lap contently, cuddling into his chest and settling to take a nap.

if you're still taking numbers for ye zelda questionnaire - 1, 3, 5, 8, 11, 15?
1. Top 3 incarnations of Link?
Breath of the Wild
Twilight Princess
Wind Waker
Keep in mind that each of these so are fucking close to each other that the list could easily be interchangeable. Breath of the Wild speaks for itself - there’s no sort of flowery wordsmithery that I can conjure that would be worthy of Link’s portrayal in that game, so in essence - it’s gud.
I covered Twilight Princess a bit in the last ask! I love my ranch-hand, pumpkin-eating, wholesome-big-brother Link to the death.
I considered putting OoT for third but honestly? Wind Waker deserves it more. For all the shit Wind Waker got on release it should be commended for taking the series in all sorts of new directions. Link in WW is a child in way over his head. All he wants to do is to go back to Outset Isle and wear his lobster shirt and hang out with his grandma. But when given a responsibility way past his years, his acceptance of the task is both unwavering and effortless. Link is a child, which means that his mind is the purest it’ll ever be, and that naivety is his strength. He stands against Ganondorf - old, broken, and jaded, but still consumed with a lust for power. Link shows him that youthful optimism is not something fragile and fleeting to be lost in the face of the world’s cruelty. It’s an unstoppable force for good, and no matter the opposition, it will always prevail. One thing that I really like about Wind Waker and its sequels is that the games focus on change. There’s the obvious change from Hyrule into the Great Sea. There’s the change of the Zora into the Rito, the Kokiri into the Koroks, and so on. They all feature change as a catalyst for moving forward. Moving forward into uncharted waters to establish new kingdoms. Moving forward technologically to create new machines and improve people’s lives. Moving forward sociologically and politically by expanding the government (even if the Chancellor turned out to be a demon but ANYWAY). The WW-PH-ST trilogy shows that progress is propelled by youthful optimism, and that’s a message that I will defend to the fucking death.
ANYWAY.
3. Favourite and least favourite companion?
CIN TOOK MIDNA AWAY FROM ME IN THE LAST ASK BUT THEY AREN’T HERE TO TAKE HER AWAY NOW AHA SO yea Midna is my Big Favorite. The evolution of her relationship with Link is enough to bring me to tears. Anything less of a companion would’ve cheapened TP as a whole.
It’s predictable, but my least favorite would have to be Fi. I appreciate that the Master Sword itself is given some depth and characterization but Nintendo definitely failed in their execution of that entire game. Navi was annoying but endearing, and Link’s journey to find her again in MM is genuinely heartbreaking. Fi was exhausting to listen to and IMO the game did nothing to create attachment to her. The only thing I’ll give Skyward Sword is that some of its bosses were pretty killer, but that’s about it.
5. was covered in Cin’s ask!
8. Top 3 villains?
Wind Waker Ganondorf
Princess Hilda (DON’T CRY TO ME IF YOU DIDN’T KNOW - IF YOU’RE READING THIS YOU SHOULD BE EXPECTING SPOILES GDI)
Skull Kid
WW Ganondorf was a very welcome expansion on the shallow, evil-for-evil’s-sake Ganondorf from OoT. It made sense that Ganondorf, born as a mortal and with his own life experiences, would harbor his own resentment of Hyrule besides his main goal of claiming the Triforce. You can feel sympathy for a man whose entire life has been haunted by death and suffering, even if he tragically became the embodiment of those very things in his quest to rise above them. I’m not saying that Ganondorf didn’t deserve his fate - just that (demonic cycle of reincarnation set aside) at one point there was a voice inside him that wanted to make things better for himself and his people, and that understandable want was tragically silenced by the evil desires of Demise’s reincarnated soul. I HAVE A LOT OF FEELINGS ABOUT GANONDORF, OK.
Believe it or not I wasn’t spoiled on the end of ALBW and it made it all the better, so I’m genuinely sorry if my answer gave away the twist for you. I suppose that Hilda IS the realization of what would happen if Ganondorf was driven to evil by a desire to help his people instead of his own selfish pursuit of power. Hilda commits evil in the pursuit of good (saving her world and her people), and that’s enormously refreshing in a series plagued by absolute evil just for evil’s sake. Zelda and Link’s unanimous wish to restore Lorule’s Triforce is yet another moment in The Legend of Zelda series that will bring me to tears.
And Skull Kid. Man, I guess that all of my favorite villains have tragedy in common. Skull Kid, a puppeteer turned puppet, who is forgiven in the end by yet another young hero suffering responsibility and pain beyond his years. Again - the children prevail over evil, a core message of TLoZ that I adore.
11. Favourite Ganon/Ganondorf design?
My favorite characterization of Ganondorf is Wind Waker, but in terms of literal chronological progression I immensely love the change from Ocarina of Time Ganondorf to Twilight Princess Ganondorf. Debatable timeline fuckery aside, I was stunned once I realized that the Ganondorf in TP was THE Ganondorf from OoT and I was facing this fucker yet again. His characterization wasn’t as deep as WW but his development was apparent in his tactics. He failed before by directly attacking Hyrule himself, so now he’s utilizing the fanatical proxy that is Zant in order to utilize the might of the usurped Twilight Realm in his stead. Ganondorf is more calculating and cautious than his OoT incarnation, but his boss fights show that he’s still every bit as ferocious. And I find this older DADONDORF hot and I want him to beat me to a pulp and call me pathetic ok
15. Top 3 dungeons?
Thieve’s Hideout (ALBW)
Snowpeak Ruins (TP)
Sandship (SS)
Thieve’s Hideout is a personal favorite (and that extends to the Thieve’s Town in ALTTP as well). Overall ALBW was excellent at shaking up the traditional Zelda formula and it did that in Thieve’s Hideout by giving you an NPC companion. She was something between an escort quest and a movable assistant who provided really sassy commentary throughout the dungeon. She added a lot of flavor to what could’ve been a cut and dry dungeon and I appreciate that Nintendo was able to think outside of the box.
Snowpeak Ruins is another odd dungeon in that it’s not actually a dungeon. The derelict mansion was a visually interesting setting for a dungeon and the final boss was an even further subversion of the typical formula. The whole dungeon was a welcome change of pace and it’s one of my favorite parts of TP.
Holy fuck, I have something nice to say about Skyward Sword???? For better or worse, Nintendo attempted to establish an origin for Zelda’s lore in Skyward Sword, and part of that lore is that an incredibly technologically advanced civilization predated the Hylians (expanded upon in a much more interesting way in BOTW, but it technically had the idea first). They showed this by allowing you to shift specific areas back in time by activating Timeshift Stones (which were light blue… like a certain Ocarina… that allows you to travel through time… a little detail that I appreciate). One of these stones encompassed an entire pirate ship that sailed on the desert by timeshifting the desert immediately around it back into water. I haven’t played Skyward Sword in years, but I remember having a lot of fun with the robotic pirate swordfighting duel along the bowsprit. And of course, the end boss was a goddamn SEA MONSTER THAT TORE APART THE SHIP PIECE BY PIECE, SO THAT WAS FUN. Again, for all of Skyward Sword’s failings, some of the dungeons were fucking awesome.

“Baby, you’ve been working yourself to the bone. Can’t you take a break?” Hoseok whined, his voice going up a couple octaves in hopes to make you falter and finally pay attention to him.
You shook your head, eyes still focused on the paper you were dutifully scribbling on. “Can’t, you know this is important. Like, life or death important. If I don’t finish this Hoseok, I’ll probably die.”
“Drama queen.” Hoseok huffed and rolled his eyes, the puff of air from his mouth making his bangs fly up for a brief moment before the fell back down to feather over his forehead. It would’ve been very cute for you to see if you were actually watching.
“There’s left over food in the fridge, just help yourself until I’m done.”
“I’m not in the mood for dinner though! I’m sort of in the mood more for… dessert.” He licked his lips for effect, yet another motion you missed because you were still glued to your work.
Sure, your schoolwork was always a priority and Hoseok commended you for how hard you worked and how much effort you’d put into your papers but this was over the top. You didn’t really need the A+ but you never settled for any less, even if it killed you from how hard you’d work yourself. Hoseok just wished you’d take it easy, know the meaning of getting a B or lower.
“There’s ice cream in the freezer; vanilla and chocolate.” You tacked off another question as you ran through the next dozen, already formulating answers for each and every one before you even reached them.
“You know I’m not a vanilla person, in more ways than one.” Hoseok lowered his voice, an attempt to be sexy with sound versus using the aid of sight since that clearly wasn’t a working concept. His fingertips grazed the exposed skin where the hem of your shirt rode up as you bent over your desk, hastily answering yet another question. Trying to peer over your shoulder, Hoseok let his mouth softly pepper kisses on your shoulder. His pillowy lips sunk into your shirt as he continued to make his way to the open space of your collar, where his lips could actually meet with skin directly.
“Hoseok! Not now! Can’t you just take care of yourself? I’m trying to finish this.” You shrugged your very clingy boyfriend off and Hoseok slid back onto his heels, pout forming on his lips as your rejected his forward ministrations.
“But baby–”
“But nothing! This is important, if you cared about me you’d understand that!” You shouted, immediately regretting it as you heard Hoseok whimper. He was a soft soul, needed some care and patience and sometimes you forgot that. “I’m sorry honey, you know I didn’t mean to snap at you,” You turned your head, giving him your softest puppy dog eyes as you hoped he’d forgive you for your sudden outburst. “I just really need to finish this, okay?”
Your voice was soft and it soothed Hoseok, as he smiled and nodded and gave you a peck on the lips. He was the human equivalent of a puppy-dog, and it was times like these when you appreciated having such a sweet boyfriend. He ran off to take a seat on the couch that was across from the desk, an odd choice to have a small work desk in the living room but in the cramped apartment you two shared, it’d been deemed the only place where it’d fit.
He watched you, finding it adorable how you’d stick your tongue out as you focused on a particularly hard question or how your eyes would light up when you instantly knew the answer on another.
Unfortunately, he was still thinking about how much he wanted you. It didn’t help when you would put the tip of your pen in your mouth, your lips cushioning the black tip as your tongue would occasionally graze just over it, in an attempt to wet your lips without realizing that the pen was in the way still.
Hoseok bit his lip, unable to fight his cock as it stirred to life in his loose sweatpants. He mentally cursed himself for choosing comfort over vanity as the lack of underwear he was wearing made it very obvious as his length grew harder, the outline straining the gray fabric. Hoseok let out a low exhale, hoping he could will it away if he just tried to keep his mind off of it. But that was proving to be impossible with the way you kept licking and biting tour lips, a habit of yours that made it Hell for Hoseok.
Deciding to play a risky game, he slowly let his hand cup his length over his pants, relishing in the sweet friction he was giving himself. He palmed over the head, the gray there darkening as beads of pre-come dotted along his crotch. Unable to restrain his low groan, he let his head fall back on the headrest as he worked himself over his clothes.
Small whimpers and whines escaped his pink lips with every touch on himself, the sweatpants getting in the way more than anything else at this point. He slid his hand past the waistband of his pants and took himself in his calloused grip, the contact springing fires in his loins as he tugged mercilessly, needing to chase ethe high that he’d been denying himself. His other hand traveled up the graze a nipple, loving how particularly sensitive he was there.
Hoseok thought about the times you’d made him come by playing with his nipples alone, sucking and nipping at the buds until they were glistening and bruised, come spattered all over his toned abdomen from the relentless torture on his senses.
Little did he know, he was putting on a show.
You couldn’t focus on your work when your boyfriend was being three shades of needy right in front of you, the entire sight something depraved. It made you ache to be on him, near him, around him.
“Y/N… fuck, ah,” Hoseok continued to whine, his voice stirring up a deep pit of heat inside you, making you clench your thighs as you tried to resist from giving into the sweet temptation in front of you.
“God Hoseok, just c-come already, I’m trying to finish and you’re being distracting with how loud you are,” You tried to come off as nonchalant, trying to channel the epitome of cool, calm and collected. But you couldn’t help the falter in your consonants as you stuttered on the piece of your sentence that mattered the most.
You watched as Hoseok dragged his hand up his length, squeezing the furiously red tip and milking more pre-come out, making his cock drool over his tight fingers. His eyes opened slowly, lust evident in the chocolate brown there, and your breath caught in your throat as he smirked at you.
“Come over here and make me.”
Your schoolwork can come another time; suddenly there were more pressing matters that needed to be taken into your own hands. Or mouth. Whatever works best.
request a drabble to celebrate 1k! I’m clearing out the remaining requests, thanks for playing!

ALL-NEW KIA e-NIRO WINS CAR OF THE YEAR AT 2019 WHAT CAR? AWARDS
• Zero emission, all-electric e-Niro wins coveted ‘Car of the Year’ at 2019 What Car? Car of the Year Awards
• This win marks the first time Kia has won the overall award, and the first time for an all-electric car
• Kia Picanto retains the ‘City Car of the Year’ award, and All-New Ceed and Stinger win in their price categories
The all-new zero emissions Kia e-Niro has become the first ever Korean car to win the prestigious What Car? Car of the Year award. This historic win marks the first time an all-electric car has picked up the top prize of the night. The e-Niro with class leading 282-mile range also picked up ‘Electric Car of the Year’ at the awards.
The Kia e-Niro has been designed to merge crossover-inspired design with long range, zero-emissions driving and enjoyable performance. It achieves this with a next-generation electric powertrain, using new production technologies developed specifically for Kia electric vehicles. A single high-specification, feature-rich ‘First Edition’ model will be on sale from all 192 Kia dealerships in the UK from 1 April 2019.
Retaining its ‘City Car of the Year’ award, the Kia Picanto was commended for its high level of standard equipment and value for money. The Picanto ‘3’ has Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA), 7" Touchscreen Satellite Navigation with DAB and rear parking sensors all available as standard.
Both the all-new Ceed and Stinger win in their price categories. The Ceed 1.0 T-GDi ‘2’ was awarded ‘Best family car for less than £20,000’ with the smooth 1.0 T-GDI engine and smart interior being commended. The Stinger 3.3 T-GDi ‘GT S’ won ‘Best performance car for less than £50,000’ for its outstanding performance and ease of use.
The What Car? judging panel said ‘Uncompromised electric car ownership has, so far, been the privilege of those able to afford a Tesla, which is why the e-Niro is such a game-changer.
While the Renault Zoe deserves credit for offering a decent range for less than £20k, and the I-Pace for giving Tesla buyers a better option, we think Kia’s success in making a long-range electric car that’s within the reach of many deserves the most credit.
The winds of change blow fiercely in the land of electric cars, so we can’t say how long Kia will be on top. But right now, that’s exactly where it sits.’
Commenting on an extraordinary evening for Kia, Paul Philpott, President and CEO of Kia Motors (UK) Ltd, said ‘It’s a great honour to win the top prize at this year’s What Car? Awards, which are so highly regarded in the industry and by customers. This is an important moment for Kia in the UK as this is an accumulation of years of growth and development with the e-Niro perfectly encompassing the future of our brand. The e-Niro will be available across our 192-strong dealer network who are excited to show off the car’s class leading capabilities.
To come away with five awards shows the breadth of our product line up and is a testament to how far the brand has grown since launching in the UK. Cars such as the Picanto and Ceed remain a staple for Kia, while the e-Niro and Stinger show our ability to surprise the industry with our advancements in technology and engineering. We are looking forward to continuing this success throughout 2019 and beyond.’

Fresh off the back of a new generation of the Sonata that brings more style, functionality, and practicality to Hyundai’s mid-size sedan, the South Korean automaker has delivered a new hybrid version for those seeking better fuel economy. The hybrid drivetrain consists of a 2.0-liter gasoline engine working with an electric motor. The gas engine generates 150 horsepower and 139 lb-ft of torque, and the electric motor contributes another 51 hp and 151 lb-ft, although the combined figure rests at just 192 hp. That drivetrain, along with excellent aerodynamics from the Sonata’s sleek new design, brings a fuel economy estimate of 52 mpg from the EPA. That level of fuel economy puts the Sonata Hybrid firmly in Toyota Prius territory for fuel economy.
There’s little difference style wise separating the Sonata Hybrid from the regular Sonata until you get to the Limited model. That boasts a slick-looking array of solar panels built into the roof for recharging the batteries. Inside, you’ll find the same premium-level feel and level of features that are, thankfully, becoming typical of the segment. All in, the Sonata Hybrid may just have leapfrogged the competition, which comprises the likes of the Toyota Camry Hybrid and Honda Accord Hybrid.
2020 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Changes: What’s the difference vs 2019 Sonata Hybrid?
The 2020 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid is an all-new arrival this year, forming part of the more upmarket seventh-generation Sonata range. The much sharper styling is functional, too, with the Sonata Hybrid boasting a low drag coefficient of just 0.24 – a cross-hole grille features active air flaps and even the alloy wheels have a special aerodynamic design. The combination of a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and an electric motor produces a combined output of 192 horsepower; the 2.0L motor generates 139 lb-ft of torque on its own and the electric motor a further 151 lb-ft. The combination enables an EPA-estimated 52 mpg combined and a 686-mile range for the Blue trim.
Also debuting with the Sonata Hybrid is Hyundai’s Solar Roof System which can recharge the battery and prevent battery discharge when the car is switched off. A more premium look to the interior is matched by enhanced practicality, with Hyundai increasing the trunk size by 2.5 cubic feet relative to last year’s Sonata Hybrid.

Sonata Hybrid Exterior
The Sonata Hybrid shares the completely fresh styling with the rest of the Sonata range, which employs the brand’s ‘Sensuous Sportiness’ design direction. Although not everyone will love the design, we must commend Hyundai for ending up with a unique look that sets this midsize sedan apart from more conservative rivals. The cross-hole grille with active air flaps is unique to the Sonata Hybrid, and all trims receive LED headlights (the integration of the LED DRLs with the chrome hood trim is brilliantly executed) and power-folding mirrors. The top trim features Hyundai’s clever Solar Roof System which the manufacturer says increases the range by a couple of miles after six hours of charging. The base model has 16-inch alloy wheels, increasing to 17s on the higher-spec trims.
  Dimensions
At 192.9 inches long, the Sonata Hybrid is lengthier than the Honda Accord, one of its key rivals. It measures 56.9 inches in height and 73.2 inches in width excluding the side mirrors. The sleek design conceals a 111.8-inch wheelbase. The curb weight varies from 3,325 pounds for the lightest base trim to 3,530 lbs for the heaviest model. By contrast, the heaviest non-hybrid Sonata weighs in at 3,336 lbs.
Length192.9 in
Wheelbase111.8 in
Height56.9 in
Max Width73.2 in

Rear Width63.9 in
Exterior Colors
The Sonata Hybrid’s color palette is made up of seven shades: Hyper White, Nocturne Black, Hampton Gray, Calypso Red, Shimmering Silver, Portofino Gray, and Oxford Blue. Where in the past one would need to go for a vibrant shade to spice up the appearance of a generic Hyundai sedan, today’s Sonata looks interesting and assertive even when painted in simple white.
Sonata Hybrid Performance
With a focus on efficiency, the new Sonata Hybrid isn’t the most powerful competitor in its segment. The 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine produces 150 horsepower and 139 lb-ft of torque, with the electric motor contributing another 51 hp and 151 lb-ft. According to Hyundai, the maximum combined system output is 192 hp. Power goes to the front wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission. Hyundai hasn’t released official performance figures – no surprise since this isn’t the focus of the powertrain – but last year’s similarly powerful Sonata Hybrid (not the plug-in version) took over eight seconds to hit 60 mph. The new base Sonata Hybrid is lighter, though, so may end up being a bit quicker than this. Honda’s more powerful Accord Hybrid will get to 60 in the low seven-second range. As with many other hybrids, towing isn’t recommended for this Sonata.
Engine and Transmission
Hyundai’s Smartstream G2.0 GDi HEV four-cylinder engine produces 139 lb-ft of torque, with another 151 lb-ft served up by the permanent magnet synchronous electric motor. Combined system power output works out to 192 hp. The setup is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission with a manual shift mode.
The Hyundai Sonata Hybrid’s drivetrain accelerates it strongly from a standstill. The engine and electric motor are aided by a six-speed automatic transmission rather than a continuously variable transmission, which is unusual for a hybrid. Hyundai’s new Active Shift Control system is designed to monitor the engine and use the electric motor to match the transmission speed, and the system is quick to shift but not quite as smooth as advertised. The overall result is that you can quickly forget you’re driving a hybrid around town.

Handling and Driving Impressions
It is easy to forget you’re driving a hybrid version of the Sonata around town, right up until you use the brakes. That’s not a bad thing, though. The brakes are on the aggressive side, so take a little getting used to for stopping smoothly. The regenerative braking is strong, letting you know you’re recharging the battery as you come off the gas and saving some wear and tear on the brake pads.
The ride is smooth and quiet, and a move upscale for the Sonata in general. On the highway, the Sonata is a great cruiser, but getting onto curvy country roads and it’s extra weight starts to show and the body roll is noticeable. During our week with the Sonata Hybrid, it’s didn’t take long to realize that outside of the city or a freeway, the Sonata Hybrid isn’t ideal for swift driving if you don’t want passengers to complain.
Sonata Hybrid Gas Mileage
The Sonata Hybrid is an exceedingly thrifty midsize sedan. In its Blue trim, EPA estimates work out to an exceptional 50/54/52 mpg on the city/highway/combined cycles. The pricier trims return figures of 45/51/47 mpg. The Sonata Hybrid Blue is, therefore, more efficient than the Honda Accord Hybrid (48/47/48 mpg) and closely matches the most efficient Toyota Camry Hybrid (51/53/52 mpg). Even though the 13.2-gallon gas tank isn’t especially large, it’s still enough for a maximum combined cruising range of 686 miles. Hyundai says that the Solar Roof System (standard on the top-line Limited) adds around two miles of range per day – or about 700 miles over the course of a year.
In the real world, our Limited trim tester sat around 42-43 mpg. But, that was biased towards freeway use and a trip out into the desert for some sight-seeing to escape the lockdown. What we couldn’t discern is exactly how much difference the solar panels on the roof made a difference despite leaving it parked in the sun for a couple of full days.

Sonata Hybrid Interior
Hyundai has stepped up its game in the Sonata Hybrid’s cabin, too. Much like Mazda right now, Hyundai has achieved a premium look by going for a simplified, fuss-free design and fewer physical buttons than before. The climate control panel, for instance, is a model of clarity. The seats are supportive and space utilization earns high praise both front and rear. The nitpickers out there will be able to find one or two bits of trim that aren’t especially solid, but overall, it’s a fine effort. All trims are equipped with cruise control, rear cross-traffic alert, lane keeping assist, and dual-zone climate control, while higher-spec trims have power-adjustable front seats, heated front seats, and wireless device charging. A color head-up display is standard on the range-topping Limited trim.
Seating and Interior Space
Inside the Sonata Hybrid, you’ll find room enough for five adults, but that last center-rear seat is best saved for short journeys. The new sportback styling of the Sonata doesn’t impact rear headroom as much as the sloping roof suggests. In the back, there’s 37.8 inches of upright room, just a shade less than in the standard Sonata, while there are the same 40 inches up for driver and front passenger. Both front and rear legroom are the same at 46.1 inches and 34.8 inches, respectively.
Like the standard Sonata as well, the Sonata Hybrid has an excellent driving position with decent visibility all around. The level of adjustment in the steering wheel is fine, but the driver’s seat would benefit tall drivers by being able to be set a little lower.

Interior Colors and Materials
While the Blue and SEL trims have premium cloth seats, the Limited gets leather upholstery. The base model has a urethane-trimmed steering wheel but more appealing leather wrapping is applied to the steering wheels on other versions. Hyundai has made good use of soft-touch materials on the armrests and door panels, surfaces that will most often be touched. On non-hybrid models (reviewed separately), a mix of black and light grey or brown interior color schemes can be chosen, and the Sonata Hybrid has access to a similar range of colors, although the Dark Grey/Camel color scheme is only available on the leather found in the Limited model.
Sonata Hybrid Trunk and Cargo Space
The high-voltage hybrid battery has been optimally placed so that there is no reduction in trunk capacity compared with the non-hybrid Sonata. At 16 cubic feet – although not the largest in this segment – the trunk is big enough to accommodate about seven carry-ons or a weekly grocery shop. The back seats can also be folded down in a 60/40 split to further increase overall cargo capacity, and hands-free smart trunk access is a big plus when your hands are full.
Interior storage space is generous, too, with a usefully-sized center console and well-placed cupholders. The doors are also equipped with their own pockets for stashing phones, wallets, and the like.

Sonata Hybrid Infotainment and Features
Features
Hyundai continues a tradition of offering plenty of standard features across the Sonata Hybrid range. The entry-level Blue trim gets LED headlights, automatic high-beam assist, power-folding mirrors, dual-zone climate control, and six-way manually-adjustable front seats. A tilt/telescoping steering column helps in finding a good driving position, too. Along with an impressive nine airbags, all models also receive a rearview camera, forward collision avoidance, lane keeping assist, and driver attention warning. The mid-range SEL adds console-mounted vents for the rear passengers, wireless device charging, and power-adjustable/heated front seats, while the range-topping Limited has ventilated front seats, the solar glass roof, rear parking sensors, and a color head-up display.
Infotainment
An eight-inch color touchscreen is standard for the Sonata Hybrid, while a 10.25-inch unit comes standard on the Limited trim. Both screens are quick to respond to touch inputs, and the displays, controls, and settings are intuitive to move through. Hyundai has stuck to the tried-and-tested physical volume knob and simple physical controls for the HVAC system. The forward and back controls are a less-traditional capacitive-touch design. Bluetooth streaming, Apple Carplay, and Android Auto are standard on all trim levels, as is HD Radio, SiriusXM satellite radio, and Hyundai’s Blue Link connected car system. A 12-speaker Bose sound system is standard on SEL and Limited trim along with wireless phone charging capability.
A 4.3-inch digital gauge cluster is standard on the entry-level Blue trim and the middle SEL package. Limited trim gets a 12.3-inch digital display, but either way, the displays are vivid and easy to grab information from at a glance. The 12.3 in. display automatically adds navigation capability.
Sonata Hybrid Problems and Reliability
The 2020 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid was recalled twice for a faulty remote smart parking assist system and incorrect tire size information, both of which have also affected the Sonata Hybrid. As an all-new model, we’ll have to wait a bit longer to get an accurate picture of the range’s reliability.
One of Hyundai’s major advantages is its superb warranty coverage, with a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty and a five-year/60,000-mile limited warranty. Even better, the brand recently added three years or 36,000 miles of complimentary maintenance.

Sonata Hybrid Safety
The 2020 Hyundai Sonata was named a Top Safety Pick by the IIHS (when equipped with LED projector headlights), with an excellent spread of Good ratings for crashworthiness. The only blemish following its evaluation was a Marginal rating for the standard headlights. The NHTSA awarded the 2020 Sonata a five-star overall safety rating.

     Key Safety Features
Hyundai has equipped the Sonata Hybrid with nine airbags, including a driver’s knee airbag and side-curtain airbags for both front and rear occupants. Active safety features common to all variants are blind spot collision-avoidance assist, rear cross-traffic alert, forward-collision alert with pedestrian detection, rear occupant alert, lane keeping assist, lane follow assist, driver attention warning, and high beam assist. All versions also have vehicle stability and tire pressure monitoring systems in place. The top-spec Limited additionally has a surround-view monitor, parking collision avoidance assist (rear), and front/rear parking sensors.
Verdict: Is the 2020 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid a good car?
We are fans of the new Hyundai Sonata for its stylish practicality, a long list of standard features, and added exterior design flair that doesn’t stretch into gimmickry. Adding the hybrid system improves fuel economy, but adds weight to the chassis that’s detrimentally noticeable on back roads. However, for a daily driver and family car that’s going to spend most of its life in the city or on the freeway, Hyundai has pulled off a slam dunk, even if it doesn’t quite reach the level of the Toyota Prius in terms of fuel economy. Still, the Sonata Hybrid doesn’t have the excessive “Look at me I’m a hybrid!” styling elements or the irritating interior design of the Prius.
Like most of its competitors, the Sonata Hybrid doesn’t make a meal of being a hybrid. However, we would also shop around and look at the Honda Accord Hybrid and Toyota Camry hybrid as closer competitors.
What’s the Price of the 2020 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid?
Pricing is yet another strong suit for the Sonata Hybrid, with the base Blue kicking off at just $27,750. The SEL is priced from $29,900, while the top-spec Limited asks $35,300 excluding a destination charge of $975. For reference, the Honda Accord Hybrid ranges from $25,620 to $35,290, while the Camry Hybrid starts at $28,430 and tops out at $32,730.
2020 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Models
Hyundai’s all-new Sonata Hybrid is offered in a choice of three trims: Blue, SEL, and Limited. All are powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and an electric motor for a combined power output of 192 hp. A six-speed automatic gearbox is used and power is directed to the front axle.
Starting with the Blue trim, it comes with LED headlights (with LED DRLs), power-folding side mirrors, and 16-inch alloy wheels. The interior features cloth-trimmed seats along with dual-zone climate control, an eight-inch color touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a six-speaker audio system, and safety equipment like blind spot monitoring and pedestrian detection.
The mid-range SEL adds bigger 17-inch wheels, power-adjustable front seats with heating, a Bose premium audio system with 12 speakers, wireless device charging, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
The range-topping Limited enjoys the brand’s Solar Roof System, LED matrix headlamps, rear parking sensors, leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen interface with navigation, and a color head-up display.
Additional Packages
Hyundai generally doesn’t overwhelm with millions of available options, but a few choice examples can be equipped to improve the Sonata Hybrid’s spec levels. All three trims can be optioned with an auto-dimming rearview mirror at $295, but the rest of the options center around accessories such as a first aid kit, mudguards, and carpeted floor mats.
What Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Model Should I Buy?
There’s very little to complain about with the Sonata Hybrid. It’s tech and safety feature list and fuel economy level for the money is excellent. Even on the basic Blue trim level, there are LED headlights, dual-zone climate controls, alloy wheels, and the best mpg estimates. We would go with that or the middle SEL trim for a balance of cost versus benefits that include things like power and heated front seats, the Bose sound system, and wireless charging.
At $35,300, the Limited Trim looks pricey, but it is a full-featured car complete with leather upholstery, the larger screens, and a color head-up display. We’re still not convinced about the solar-paneled roof, though.
2020 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Fresh off the back of a new generation of the Sonata that brings more style, functionality, and practicality to Hyundai's mid-size sedan, the South Korean automaker has delivered a new hybrid version for those seeking better fuel economy.

[170507] WINGS Tour in Manila D2
Hey y'all! It's been a long time. I know my blog has been pretty much close to dead these past few weeks because work has been so stressful that's why I wasn't able to hang out much bUT HEY I WENT TO WINGS IN MANILA LAST WEEK HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!! And the reason why it took me a week to blog about it is because I'm so afraid to look at the pictures. It hurts so much to bring back the memories from that night. This is the closest I've seen them so far and believe me it's emotionally overwhelming. They're all so beautiful. That's it. No other words. All seven of them are unbelievably beautiful it made me cry that night. With regards to performance I was kinda disappointed I didn't enjoy much. But it's not bc of BTS. It was bc of the fans' phones I could not see most of the performances. Imagine getting hyped up in the middle of Not Today bc I was busy looking for a good spot for the first 50 secs so I could see them. Ugh. I wish fans would just enjoy the show live and not from their phones. I wish I could enjoy Hoseok's stage so much but gdi I didn't see him that much on the extended stage. Well Jin's stage stood out to me tho. It was fucking magical and I just wanna cry that time bc of how talented this boy is. Yoongi's stage was magical as well but the sound system on the floor section was crappy it did not give justice to his emotional performance. During Namjoon's stage we shouted "SARANGHAE" and it was fantastic as well. The rest of the maknae line's performances were awesome and so full of talent it will shut you up. There were so many things that happened during the hype set and I wasn't able to look everywhere bUT GUYS KIM SEOKJIN BAPTIZED THE HELL OUT OF ME DURING RUN!!!!!!!!!!! Too bad I wasn't able to record it but istg my phone, army bomb and a little bit of my face were fucking wet. From that moment I started to call him Jinsus instead T_T. And ofc the usual Tagalog speeches are present and I would like to commend the boys' effort in making this show the best ever with their silly antics and awesome performances. I wish the next time they visit the Philippines I could watch for 2 days so I could enjoy the performances undisturbed by fancam hoarders on the first day and see their faces up close on the second day. Tho they didn't promise anything for next year, I really know they'll be coming back. So until then, I'm just going to support and love them from afar. BTS has given me so much happiness that I vowed to support them for as long as they exist.
To my fave group, I'm honored to be your wings. I love you and I'll miss you so much!
