Dunsch (2012) presented one such manual as being the Instrucción náutica by Diego García de Palacio (1587), with its content covering the topics navigation, astronomical references, nautical astronomy (including the proper handling of nautical instruments) and cartography, weather signs, ship design and construction, rigging, sails and masts, qualities and assigned responsibilities of officers and crew, and naval tactics.
Although ancient by consideration, Dunsch (2012) principles of practical needs of seamanship, ancient seafaring based on coastal navigation, circumnavigations, and the use of some landmarks as points of orientation are still valuable and can be expertly used to manipulate, outmaneuver, and conquer the enemy or better yet, distract and distort the enemy into submission, better yet capture.
To further prevent unnecessary contingencies and inefficiencies, I am proposing a reliance on Dunsch's (2012) version of Occam’s razor to the manning of ships: Nautae non sunt multiplicandi praeter necessitatem—the fewer sailors you need to do a job on board, the better. In this case, it is not just the sailors and the naval who can benefit, but the army, air force, and specialty arms divisions / branches.

Additionally, the so common use of resources for the criminal can also supplement the defense in the form in a combination of a variety of sound, vibrations, and reasonably and foreseeable music scales, chords, and pieces, along with light / lighting to supplement the musical elements resulting in a creation of defensive, offensive, or alternate realities with attention to topography and atmospheric conditions including fantasies, new inventions or popular including fantasy and fictional arenas from existing myths and legends.  including Olympus, Monkey Kingdom, elemental distortion including scenes from environmentally friendlier and healthier times - the quality of trees, reeds, fogs, the dynamics of the water in question whether rivers, seas, etc. such as the flows, directions, speed, etc.
To optimize the effectiveness and efficiency of these strategies and tactics, Dunsch's (2012) recommendations of nautical effectiveness and efficiencies MUST be utilized through comprehensive reviews, adaptation of, and implement of strategies and tactics. Dunsch's (2012) recommendations were:

Timosthenes of Rhodes’ On Harbours (Peri limenôn) - a sea captains’ guide to ports of call, albeit a very comprehensive and elaborate one, containing details about distances, harbours, trading opportunities, dangerous shoals, the coastline etc.
Thales [of Miletus], nautical astronomy: astronomy and meteorology, in particular the winds, which are always important for sailors, and tempests (‘‘the rolling wonders of thunders”), and the movement of the planets and the tracks of the stars, important means of nocturnal navigation,  the revolution of times, the drift of the winds, the movement of the planets, the rolling wonders of thunders, the sloping tracks of the stars, the annual return of the sun, similarly the waxing of the new and the waning of the old and the obstacles of the eclipsing moon, measurement of distances, tides, routes and coasts, and emergency procedures
Varro, Ephemeris navalis (The Sailor’s Calendar?) including Ephemeris navalis contained information about specifically nautical matters, especially about manoeuvres at sea and how to use the winds, as we are told by the anonymous author of the Itinerarium Alexandri. Also particularly important for sailing in the Aegean during the dog-days of the Mediterranean summer. They can blow violently from any direction between northwest and northeast, though they are most often conceived of as northeasterly winds. Their precise flow and direction depends on a number of topographic and atmospheric factors.

Tovrea (2011) discusses Navigation Warfare, or NAVWAR, as deliberate defensive and offensive action to assure and prevent positioning, navigation and timing (PNT) information through coordinated employment of space, cyberspace, and electronic warfare operation. NAVWAR is applicable to all branches of the armed forces and as a result the nation or joint force coalition must perceive and plan accordingly. Thus said, the branches of the armed forces can then be assigned according to project management with each branch listed as a task element of a work breakdown structure which manages resources, milestones, outcomes, times, and deliverables. Tovrea's (2011) addresses this aspect through the basic linkage between PNT dependencies, vulnerabilities, threats/capabilities and desired effects, see figure 1.

Although figure 1, The PNT Dependency to Effects Linkage, is applicable to all branches of the armed forces, an escalation of efficiencies can be experienced by further reclassifying activities into the categories and related techniques, nautical, naval, air, aeronautical, and land. A successful outcome of this effort results in the creation of infantries from all branches / recategorization of the armed forces, whereas infantry positioning is defined as the general branch of an army that engages in military combat on foot, engages with the enemy in close-ranged combat, bear the largest brunt of warfare, and typically suffer the greatest number of casualties during a military campaign (Wikpedia, n.d.) creating a disproportionate discharge of personnel among the branches of the armed force whether from death, disability, and lack of desire.
Tovrea's (2011) central idea in the proposed NAVWAR CONOPS is that NAVWAR occurs in multiple domains and mission areas because PNT-dependent systems may operate in all five traditional warfighting domains (land, sea, air, space, and cyberspace). However with the infantry, the Mathur (2008)In her disclosure on the statistics quoted regarding the deaths of the US Military - Iraq (2008). Mathur (2008) provided numbers "based on counts by the Department of Defense and Associated Press. Most items are based on information obtained by the DoD for 3,980 deaths, as of March 10, 2008."
Mather's (2008) statistics  were "A closer look at US military deaths in Iraq: Percentages by service branch: Army: 72 percent; Marines: 24 percent; Navy: 2 percent; Air Force: 1 percent (Coast Guard had one death)." McCalla, Christine Ann and all variations thereof assumes the Army's loss was predominantly infantry. She also assumed, this proportion is similar to all nations with branches of armed forces organized in this manner.
PROPOSAL
As a solution to this catastrophical phenomenon, McCalla, Christine Ann and all variations thereof, proposes including among other strategies and tactics, Tovrea's (2011) argument describing functions within warfare in general and independent of the armed forces branch. Tovrea's (2011) functions of Cyberspace Operations; Electronic Warfare; Space Operations; Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance (ISR) Operations; Joint Spectrum Management Operations; and Joint Task Force Organization. Tovrea (2011) also presented a visual illustration called NAVWAR and its Components as Mutual Subsets, see fig. 2.

Tovrea (2011) created and presented coherence through his discussion of his battle management plan (fig 3 - NAVWAR Planning and Execution Framework) and elaborates on the effort on the scope and definitions, its functional requirements, gap validation and credible functional solutions for this integrative warfighting approach. To further derive substance from Tovrea's (2011) Fig 3. - NAVWAR Planning and Execution Framework, a SWOT (strength, weakness, opportunities, and threats) analysis can be completed as well as a PESTLE (political, economical, social, technological, legal, and environmental with each class as landscapes) analysis to address contingencies if any.

A separate and efficient strategy to enhance the effectiveness of the armed force, is to separate each branch of the armed force as if it is the only functioning branch, e.g. nautical. The traditional name of this armed force branch is naval / navy, but given the comprehensiveness and the skills and techniques required additional products, systems, services, and networks must now be utilized as inputs to deliver outputs in the same manner: additional products, systems, services, and networks.
Proposed Nautical Branch as Stand-Alone / Independent Armed Force Branch
Disclosure: the proposition of the nautical branch as a stand-alone / independent armed force branch does not change the organization and structure of a nation's defensive and offensive systems and networks as to do so would be supplantation. This proposed strategy is a supplementary measure to ensure that if overwhelmed, the defensive and offensive systems and networks function effectively and efficiently and provide a predetermined and predefined measure of relief.
A successful implementation of this supplemental measure can be applied to all armed force branches to ensure fully functioning organization capable of maximized resources under siege, or it can be employed as a utilization measure and as a strategy of deception. An integration of both Tovrea's (2011) functions of Cyberspace Operations; Electronic Warfare; Space Operations; Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance (ISR) Operations; Joint Spectrum Management Operations; and Joint Task Force Organization, and Tovrea's (2011) Fig 3. - NAVWAR Planning and Execution Framework is an outline to the beginning of accomplishing this task. With appropriate technological adoption, this defensive and offensive systems and networks functions effectively and efficiently providing relief and support to the nation. With proper and appropriate utilization, it provides a 100% separate skill based assessment.
A further complement to this strategy is the creation of a SWOT, PESTLE, mindful analysis of statistics regarding the ratio of armed forces based on population if possible. Include in these complexed analysis, the probability of the creation of militia (include in PESTLE and SWOT) and their degree of risk. The calculation of these components impact on  decision making (include in PESTLE and SWOT).
Consider security ratings in the creation of these new products to include interstate, criminal, terror, composite domestic, regional rank, and composite security ranking along with ranking in terms of priority, (Libya Defence and Security Report. 2014), and generate outcomes and contingencies based on the likelihood of occurrence, resulting in a concentration of resources.
MYTHICAL CHARACTERS AND THE PRESENT, WARFARE, POLITICS, AND TRUST
Discussion of ethics through the use of pan-Hellenic mythological heroes in warfare
Fearn (2003) described numerous strategies in his discussion of Mapping phleious: Politics and myth-making in bacchylides 9. Fearn's (2003) strategies and tactics include,
Bacchylides 9 uses Automedes’ victory to put Phleious on the geopolitical and mythological map, at the centre of attention. I the poems (2013) takes another view, that of ethics where,
"ethical people need an ethical society to live in", and "‘Gift-eating’ in a basileus [king or emperor, Wikipedia, (n.d.)] is worse still, and stands for corruption. A thing is noble if it encourages labour and enables self-sufficiency." Coexistence of ethics and corruption is impossible. This bulleted point addresses ethics and its antonym, corruption, and encourages illustriousness, industriousness, and earnestness through earning versus accepting a gift. These issues can be resolved again through organization and structure in the form of a well-designed and crafted code of ethics policy statement (see reference to SHRM below) and conflict of interest policy statement (see reference below to Vanguard). Here gifting excessively and de minimis can be differentiated.

This statement implies the introduction of nepotism into the culture or the society in which Alcimidas' exists. Interestingly enough, thesaurus.com creates the contention in which nepotism is related to (1) corruption addressed by I the poems's (2013) discussion above, (2) breach of trust, (3) bribery, (4) crime, (5) malfeasance, (6) on the take, (7) profiteering, (8) racket, (9) shadiness, (9) skimming, and (11) unscrupulousness. The implication, appearance is everything where lack of ethics and criminalities is are concerned.
Is a Trojan Horse a Trojan Horse or a malnourished orphan cum king? Parkes (2004) presented a dominant and provocative theory in his presentation of the Turkish legends of the “Keloghlan Boy,” a destitute and mange-ridden orphan entering the castle of a giant and stealing magic regalia or treasure, enabling him to marry a princess and become king. Parkes (2004) describes the accomplishment of the orphan's ambition through forcing the ogress of the castle to adopt him as her son by milk kinship [nurturing as in the context of nature vs nurture] / obligation,  defeating her giant husband or brothers, to steal their treasure, and so succeed in his quest [the orphan) to marry a princess and become king and thereby to reveal vulnerable secrets of her giant husband’s soul, typically located in an animal or inanimate object.

Secci (2009) executed an excellent task in addressing skills, character, talent, and other attributes considered relevant and necessary in a competitive environment. Secci (2009) compared and contrasted the strategies each player presented in the display of the attribute in question.

(iv) provocation and violence - the use of fallacy results in emotional appeals that can be hostile, passive, or threatening in nature. "Hercules’ intolerance... and ... causes the verbal duel to become a hand-to-hand fight" implies hostility and agitation in combination with his imposing attributes as demi-god results in an absolutely threatening stance and status and violence / combat. (v) Sophistication and decorum - "His approach to the contest underlines even further his reliance on rhetorical skills, sophistic-style reasoning and well-shaped witticism."
Sophism according to dictionary.com as " a specious argument for displaying ingenuity in reasoning or for deceiving someone, any false argument; fallacy." A fallacy is often an emotional appeal, lacking objectivity and as a result it provokes responses emotional by nature including anger, rage, etc. resulting in a natural separation between / from the object of antagonism to acquire piece. Additionally, it creates the opportunity to evaluate emotional range and temperament and the applicable attributes thereof.
Krabbe and van Laar (2015) presented their discussion on the value and contribution a fallacy makes in an argument. Krabbe and van Laar (2015) argued that "By a “fallacy” we mean a contribution to an argumentative discussion that hinders or blocks the resolution (on the merits) of the difference of opinion that is the issue of the discussion." While fallacies are contentious, they do not necessarily indicate they are decorative by nature.  Krabbe and van Laar (2015) continues, "The arguer may play on the emotions and prejudices of the audience... or the arguer may parade his or her own (self-attributed) qualitiesof expertise, credibility, or integrity..." Hence, a conflict that could have multiple outcomes including violence, destruction, or death.
