Hey, have you ever considered making a post-despair design for former remnants? Or at least have an idea for a post-despair fanfic? Because I have some ideas of a post-despair syndrome affecting former members of the Remnants of Despair.

I don’t typically focus on post despair as much, but the main thing I want from any post despair setting is just good things for Mikan! She went through so much even compared to the rest of the cast, so id like to see her start to do better

It's like finding snacks to pair with ice cream before the dessert melts. Why is the dessert melting in the canon route? I mean both teenagers are absent by the end of the Tragedy.

If not for the Neo World Program (NWP) and a couple of hard-drives, Kamukura Izuru wouldn't perform a deux ex machina, dragging Hajime from a nonexistent tomb to participate in a Killing Game in his stead. On the other hand, I'm pretty sure Nanami Chiaki would still be the AI observer with or without Kamukura Izuru, based on the anime.

Either Izuru reached godhood, the well-funded and potentially talented HPA scientists failed that one job of erasing Hajime's psyche, or Hajime is an undying 0.01% fragment of a persona for the Neo World Program to spot and declare: 'Yes! This! This thing needs therapy,' somehow ignoring the other identity standing at the theoretical corner with glowing red eyes. After all, NWP can't create an avatar out of nothing.

Things that surprise me: that no one somehow found out that the world was virtual. After the first chapter, I think you'd be able to conclude that there is something reality-adjacent about Jabberwock.

But I'm thinking about if there was any way possible to break the software from the inside. Breaking objects to see if you can find invincible objects? Throwing all the books on the library onto the floor and seeing if they clip into each other? Testing particle handling by messing with the sand on the beach? Trying to glitch out entity AI by doing illogical actions or trying to get them to issue conflicting commands by causing chaos at the farm?

All at once?

How much can the supercomputer handle? How much of a nuisance would you be?

i like how peko and fuyuhiko's island mode endings each fix their side of their relationship

Peko wants to stand with him as an equal like Fuyuhiko wants. Fuyuhiko no longer running from Peko maybe means that he'll be more clear about how he feels about their relationship (e.g. it's not that he doesn't want a tool, which is what Peko thinks is the problem, it's that he doesn't want Peko to be a tool). Either way, it might lead to Peko wondering if there's alternative ways of being by his side outside of being a tool (like we see in the ending above.) Either way, Peko is going to ask him out on a date.

Ik this is an Ultimate Despair blog and she wasn't a member, but I wanna talk about Nanami for a minute. (Ignoring how dr3 butchered her character by making her a real person and a plot device for a giant retcon *sigh*).

One of the things that meant the world to me about Chiaki Nanami in SDR2 and her kind personality + it being from her creator, the Ultimate Programmer Chihiro Fujisaki, is that it shows that kindness can transcend life and death, reality and virtual reality, memories and subconscious.

Fujisaki, an inherently kind and gentle person who struggled with their own self-confidence, worked on the Neo-World program with Matsuda, the Ultimate Neurologist (who was likely dealing privately with his own guilt in helping Enoshima on top of that, maybe he wanted to make up for it somehow?) and a student known as the Ultimate Therapist (later named as Miaya Gekkogahara, who we still don't know anything about (thanks dr3 🙄)).

Even though Hope's Peak Academy was an inherently fucked up institution that ruined the lives of many, these three were still able to find a light in each other throughout that darkness to create something that they believed had the power to help and heal people.

I believe Nanami became the embodiment of that belief. An existence who's sole purpose is to guide gently and heal, and learn and develop along the way to help fulfill that purpose. Alter Ego had a more informational and legacy purpose in DR1 and Chapter 6 of SDR2, and Usami was made to guide everyone along. Nanami specifically was created in a way that she'd have very strong resentment towards killing, and when push comes to shove would develop to be strong enough to save someone in the NWP going down the wrong path. Even in her few harsh moments she still had a sense of responsibility and kindness to her.

And that's what I think summarises her character for me. She was created out of kindness, for the purpose of kindness. Really, that's often all someone needs to pull them out of a dark place. Not fake, manipulative kindness like what Enoshima offered to the remnants to serve her own purposes, but true, pure kindness to help them become better people.

//So there were a lot of talks about the main protagonists of mine and three other well-known Danganronpa ask blogs forming a DND part together on Mod Bubbles blogs, and as an artist, and a major DND fan, I could not resist.

//My little autistic cogs in my little autistic brain got turning and I basically made full on character sheets for all four main protags of each of the blogs; Kuripa from Survivor, Hajime from ASooT, Nagi from NWPM, and Aliza-chan from Finalverse

//I won't post the full sheets because I don't know how many people would want to see that, plus it's a shitton of information that I just don't want to bother with. But outside of the character cards above, here's a brief summary of every character in this "AU" shall we say.

Hajime - The party leader. Was once a young boy who never stood out, but gained the gift of a prophecy that showed him a dark future wrought by dark lord Junko Enoshima. Now with the power to reset himself every time he dies, the number of times depicted in his magical left eye, he dedicates his life to the journey of stopping the prophesized dark future. Sometimes he can be a bit cold and distant, always acting like the fate of the world rests squarely on his shoulders despite his teammates by his side, but he is capable, kind and a true leader.

Aliza - Aliza has a power with a similar origin to Hajime, which gravitates her towards him, and eventually is the founding reason she becomes his ally. Unlike him however, power is that to see and explore other universes parallel to theirs, where everything can be different, and she struggles to control it. The goal of her journey is to learn to use her power for good, and to escape the lofty expectations and cruelty of her family. She's a little bit clumsy and inexperienced as a result, with her wild magic sometimes landing her team in deeper trouble than they were originally, but she always means well and if nothing else, serves as the heart of the group.

Kuripa - He was originally a well-known artist and sculptor who lived a quiet life until a rogue in a steel mask raided his village and murdered his sister. For those who frequent this blog, you know how this story goes. He dedicated the rest of his life to hunting down the murderer, learning black magic arts and becoming a blood hunter, willing to sacrifice anything and anyone, including his own body, if it meant achieving his goal. He's a bit of a loose cannon and more violent than his peers when it comes to executing plans, much to Hajime, Aliza and Nagi's chagrin, but it's made up for in the fact that when he gets the job done, he REALLY gets the job done, and it makes them glad that he's an ally and not an enemy.

Nagi - Nagi was an Aasimar who was the guardian of a realm in the sky known as "Neo World" until she was attacked by Junko Enoshima's evil paladin right-hand, Mukuro Ikusaba, who was ordered by Junko to kill her and bring back a part of her body to show that she'd finished the job. After this encounter, Nagi miraculously survived, but Mukuro successfully tore her wings from her body. Nagi joins the party out of revenge, and despite her trauma, is still the most mentally sane member of the group, acting a lot like a team Mom of sorts.

The daughter of Komaru and Hirota, Yuna could best be described as a complete and utter cinnamon roll. While she often acts mature for her age, having picked up plenty of therapist terminology from her father, she's yet to really grasp what it means. Nevertheless, she's very sweet and tries to help people whenever they seem down.

Her parents met while Komaru was 21, in her second year of university and Hirota was a licensed therapist. He'd been feeling a bit burned out and Komaru decided to help cheer him up, which led to them becoming friends and later to a romantic relationship.

While her family had some reservations about it, given that Hirota was already in his mid-20's, he swore Komaru's happiness was important to him and he'd never hurt her. He ultimately got along well with the family, and waited until Komaru had graduated and found a career to propose to her.

They got married in early 2020 and later had Yuna. She's had a pretty normal childhood, with her dad still working as a therapist and her mother a wedding planner who's also a spirit medium on the side.

Although she's also claimed to have "friends" that nobody else can see...
