I was thinking about your Mini's au while I was making som fanart if it and I was wondering how UDG/V3 would be able to work with the concept.
I'm totally sure with Udg with V3 minis (that just seems like...not great lol) However V3 with UDG characters seem a little more fun and can we could get more creative with it instead of having just either THH or GBD as their mini senpais (although it's kinda funny to think about there being a DOUBLE amount of senpais to take care of.)
Theres kind of a lot of ways we can go with this. We could just have the main characters (WOH, Komaru and Toko) and only them. Which could result in the pairing (or more) of the V3 characters to take care of 1 of the 7 minis. (I'd say Shuichi and Kaede take care of Komaru because it's adorable. Imagine Shuichi with 2 very energetic enthusiastic girls. He'd die + Naehara maybe who knows ooooooh~)
But we could also go the route of including other characters from the game such as Yuta, Taichi, Hiroko, Izuru perchance, and even Shiro and Kuro Kumas. Add in Byakuya for some spice That would bumb us up from 7 to 11 ( bears cause I'm not totally down for it. And izu could be done differently) It makes pairs easier to divide!!
For more fun we could include Hajime and Makoto from the demo!! It evens out the characters much well and they could accompany Kaede as they did in the demo but now we have a Protag squad (yaaaaay) Additionally it allows for some good sibling bonding for Makoto and Komaru!
I was imaging that for Trial 1 they disappear halfway and nobody would be able to find them afterwards (referencing the end of the demo because it just cuts off mid trial) which adds some drama for the V3 students that were assigned to them. In a similar light, Hajime and Izuru switch places mid trial and Makoto is still nowhere to be found. Allows us to include all UDG characters present and even more issues!!
For the pairings it would be hard to say but I'm working on a chart at the moment and if interested I'll totally share it in the next ask! (I work better with charts it's unfortunate 😞)
I dunno hehe, It's really a 4 am idea it might not be coherent lmao but I had fun writing this out. Thanks for letting me get my ideas out lol, I hope you enjoy reading this!
(Btdubs I'm still working on that mini rp server, I'll get back to you when it's up and running >:D)
(Awesome!!! So exciting!!)
(Mini Classmates AU Masterlist)
I really, really like the idea of the V3 cast having to pair up to care for Mini UDG cast. I would definitely love to see your chart, if you do make one. Right now, my thoughts are:
Komaru, Toko, the Warriors of Hope, and Yuta makes eight minis for the sixteen participants.
Kaede and Shuichi can share custody of Komaru, like you said. That works great, for the reasons you said.
Himiko and Tenko can maybe share custody of Yuta, because that would be challenging for both of them for different reasons, and I find that kinda funny. They would have to adjust in cute ways. Himiko is exhausted just watching him, but he fully buys into her magic stuff, and she becomes amenable to being more active.
Kokichi and Kiibo share custody of Monaca, but Kokichi is too un-trusting to actually share custody. (The rules are still that you die if the mini you're caring for dies.) This means that, if all else goes the same (which it of course probably wouldn't), then Kiibo wouldn't be around Monaca almost at all until Chapter 5, and then he loses his antenna. Monaca would understand the significance of the antenna so quickly. Honestly, she probably clocked it long before he even lost the antenna, and she mentioned it to Kokichi early on.
(I thought about having Kokichi paired up with Gonta, but I think not doing that shows off how special it is that Kokichi trusted Gonta with some of his plans.)
Kirumi and Maki share custody of Kotoko. It would be mostly Kirumi at first, but it would bring out a very cute side of Maki.
I'm torn between having Kaito and Angie share Masaru and having Korekiyo and Angie share Jataro. But I already have a fic for Kiyo, Angie, and Jataro, so actually maybe Rantaro and Angie could share custody of Jataro. They would be so supportive and patient.
Korekiyo and Gonta share custody of Toko. Because bugs and serial killers and the arts; it just feels like it would be a cool match in a lot of ways. Toko sits on top of Gonta's bug catcher. Also, Gonta casually picks up Toko's author vocabulary. Also also, I like the idea of these three spending time together.
Kaito and Miu share custody of Masaru? They would get so parental about it so quickly. Like, they would genuinely talk to each other like divorced parents. "Has he eaten?" "You're giving him a lot of screen time." Miu has a clear willingness to be maternal at the drop of a hat, and Kaito would match Masaru's high energy and need for attention really well.
Tsumugi and Ryoma share Nagisa? Ryoma having someone to care for would be a big deal for him, and the shared mental illness would be out of this world. Tsumugi might craft a tiny Nagisa Shiota cosplay.
Again, these are just the initial brainstorm matchups, lol.
But having the participants share a mini-person goes well with the rule where two people can survive together in this one (and also maybe parallels the Monokuma-and-Monokubs dynamic, but I digress). Plus it allows the potential for drama, because it seems like it would be a no-brainer that, if you were to survive with one person, it would be the person you share a mini with, but some characters feel differently.
Maybe Kirumi is the one who cares for any minis who lose both caretakers (if that ever happens).
And maybe part of Angie's new rules, once the student council stuff starts happening, is something about sharing the minis communally as a protective measure or even turning them over to her so they're all protected in one place, but then someone points out that doing this would mean that Angie could kill anyone without consequences by killing their mini. Angie wouldn't actually do that, but whether the unspoken threat of it is intentional or not remains unclear. She doesn't end up getting everyone's minis, but maybe she gathers a few together, from other student council members. Having a lot of minis in one place has the potential to prevent one's self from being murdered.
The downside to this is that I'm now realizing that the Mini Classmate AU's are arguably more fun without plot, lol. A part of me kind of just wants these characters to hang out in the situation rather than doing a Danganronpa. But also. It's fun either way. 🤣

"It's ok, Sweetheart, just give all that beautiful despair to me~"
I haven't seen anyone do Mastermind Shuichi with Saimatsu... And I wanted to see it.
How I think this would work:
Obviously, chapter 1 would follow its regular narrative with Shuichi and Kaede being a cute little team, and Rantaro and Tsumugi would end up as the Victim and Blackened. During the investigation, Shuichi would 'find' the hidden girls' bathroom door, and since Tsumugi went to the bathroom she's outed.
"You traitor! You said we'd fra-" Tsumugi's last words revealed the existence of a second Mastermind.
Of course, everyone is shaken. But at least there are two people everyone trusts: Kaede and Shuichi, who revealed the Mastermind.
No one believes their leader or the detective that assists her could ever be behind what's happening.
The rest of the game follows canon to a point, but with Kaede as the Protag and Shuichi acting as the love interest/Helpful person (ie: Chiaki, Kirigiri, Maki/Kaito). Kaito still pulls Shuichi and Maki into nighttime training but Kaede also joins for moral support.
After chapter 2 Kaede, Shuichi, Kaito, and Maki are practically inseparable. In your free time, you wouldn't find one far from the others.
Kokichi still acts as a rival but he keeps telling Kaede she's stupid for trusting anyone in this game.
Kirumi still kills Ryoma. Kiyo still kills Angie and Tenko. Gonta still gets manipulated by Kokichi into killing Miu. And Kokichi and Kaito still team up in chapter 5.
Kaito ends up having the fight with Kaede instead in chapters 4 and 5. She WANT'S to trust everyone but even Shuichi, her most trusted confidant tells her she can't trust just anyone. Sure he says her inner circle is trustworthy but everyone outside of their quartet could be the second mastermind.
Kaito killing Kokichi throws off all of Shuichi's plans.
He had always planned on betraying Tsumugi to get the ending he wanted. She was going to be the Mastermind his Protagonist defeated.
He didn't know how he was going to swing it but he was going to get Himiko, Kokichi, and Kiibo to kill each other.
Then he'd have his survivors: Kaede, Himself, Kaito, and Maki.
But with Kaito's death and Maki pulling Kaede away to talk plans to out the Mastermind he decides he needs to pull off what no other Mastermind pulls off: Despair needs to win.
Because every season the Danganronpa team tells the Mastermind if they manage to do what no other Mastermind has done, beat Hope, they can take any participant with them out of the game as a Prize of sorts. Of course, these Participants are selected beforehand so that their characters can be written to survive easier, but no one's pulled it off.
Somehow in chapter 6, Shuichi manages to convince Maki, Himiko, and Kaede that the Mastermind is Kiibo. That they have to vote for him so Hope can win.
And when they do they watch Kiibo get executed, and start a minor celebration.
"We did it! We can go home!" Kaede pulls Maki and Himiko into a group hug. Tears run down their faces as relief washes over them. Shuichi slowly walks over to them.
Maki manages to dodge the first cuff that comes after her, but Himiko isn't as lucky. Kaede clings to Maki as she watches Himiko get pulled back toward an execution room.
"Wha-" Before Kaede can even finish asking her question Himiko's execution. "What's going on? We won! You said we could go home if we voted the Mastermind out!"
"Upupupupu~ But you didn't." Monokuma's voice mocks. "However executing you one at a time gives you more despair." Shuichi grabs Kaede pulling her away from Maki.
"Maki-roll?" Kaede stares at her best friend. It takes Maki a second to realize what the other girl is thinking.
"No! Kaede it's not me!" Her mind races for any sort of Proof. "Remember what happened to Kaito? If I was the Mastermind you think I'd let someone I love die like that? We promised to make it out together for him!" Suddenly her eyes grow dark and train of Shuichi. "You!" Shuichi quickly dodges dragging Kaede with him.
"It's funny." He finally speaks up. There's little emotion behind his voice. "The plan was for the four of us to leave together... But Kaito had to ruin that." Maki is filled with rage now she lunges at Shuichi only to be caught by the cuff leading to her execution.
Kaede's hand reaches out to try and save her friend. But she's powerless as she falls to the floor.
She sits there for what seems like forever waiting for her execution to begin. Eventually, she hears applause from Monokuma.
"I didn't think you'd actually be able to do it!" Monokuma congratulates. "The team was very impressed." That's when Monokuma reveals the trust to Kaede.
None of this was real. She and all her friends were fabricated people mostly following a script.
"I meant what I said to Maki, you know?" Shuichi knelt to her level. "The original script was for the four of us to defeat Tsumugi. You and Kaito were supposed to lead Maki and me out through the doors into a new world. But Kaito just had to go along with Kokichi's plans and ruin that ending." Tears streamed down her face. "So I was left with one last option. I had to destroy hope and claim my prize as the Ultimate Mastermind."
"How could you?! We were your friends!" Kaede screamed. She was only met with Shuichi's crazed laughter. Soon it ended with a dreamy sigh.
"Wow. They may have botched Kaito's writing a bit, but they did amazing with you, Sweetheart!" He smiled. "I'm so happy though, I get to have a symbol of Hope all to myself!" He pulled her into the standing position and she started wailing. "It's alright, Sweetheart, just give all that delicious despair to me~"

To Look After Another
Kirumi's classmates don't seem to understand her, all except a certain troublemaker.
[Kokichi/Kirumi] [Pre-relationship, Non despair, Kirumi POV, Introspection, Fluff]
Kirumi did not keep many indulgences for herself. She enjoyed cleaning, she took pride in her work and honing her skills, but she did not have much that she did for fun outside of that. She had been bugged by many of her classmates to rest, to relax, to force others to do the work that she had taken upon herself, but that never sat well with her. It was her duty to take care of others and she enjoyed excelling at her duties.
Kaede said that others should clean up after themselves and tried to rally the class to "do their part" as she put it. Kirumi found this to me more troublesome than helpful. Her classmates simply lacked the expertise that Kirumi had and often their help would lead to more work for her in the end, as well as more than a few apologies from Kaede when her best laid plans went awry.
Of course, she wasn't the only one that had the misguided need to save Kirumi from her chosen task. Tenko would often yell herself sick trying to ward others away from asking Kirumi for favors, even when she said herself that she enjoyed doing them. Kaito would sometimes take it upon himself to steal work from her, sometimes directly out of her hands, seeming not to notice how belittling that was. Miu offered her inventions, but the time it would take to understand how to use such contraptions was time better spent doing the work herself.
Among the well meaning of her classmates was one that refused to make any pretense of helping her.
Kokichi was, by her estimation, the person that caused her the most work in any given day. If the others tried to clean the floor for her (poorly though their work was, she could still see so many streaks) then Kokichi would spill soda or flour or something to make all their work useless. If the class tried to organize the books (all using vastly different systems, she wasn't sure how they thought anyone would find anything) Kokichi would "accidentally" knock them all over. It gave her a convenient excuse to go over all their work again herself without risk of hurting their feelings.
At first she had thought that it was a convenient coincidence that he kept foiling their classmates' attempts to help her, but the regularity of such incidents had quickly disavowed her of the notion. Kokichi was a troublemaker, but he was also sneaky and cunning when he wished to be, so the idea that this was not a scheme of some sort was rather preposterous.
It did not take long for her to realize that the scheme, as it was, was for her own benefit. It had been after half a dozen similar incidents had taken place and they had both been called upon for cleaning duty. Kokichi always stayed for it, but rarely did he help. At least, when the two of them were together, he rarely helped. Instead, he usually plopped himself atop a desk, spun her a million stories, and most importantly remained out of the way.
Kirumi wasn't certain what it was that compelled her to ask. She interrupted him mid-tale, looking up from sweeping the floor to ask, "Why is it that you always find a way to undermine everyone's efforts?"
Kokichi just grinned at her as he said, "I have no idea what you could possibly mean."
Kirumi frowned, standing up a bit straighter and giving him more of her attention. "You tipped Angie's painting water over after everyone had cleaned the floor."
"Odd that she had that out when everyone was cleaning," he said. "That was an accident waiting to happen!"
"You tossed a water balloon onto the windows everyone had been trying to clean."
"I was aiming for Kiibo." He began to kick his feet where they dangled above the floor, looking for all the world like this was a game between them.
"You had Kaito chase you around the room after everyone went through the trouble of trying to straighten everything out."
"I can't control what that dumb spaceman does."
That was more of a lie than all the others. If there was one thing that Kirumi had learned about Kokichi, it was that he was very good at controlling the actions of others. He had a way of leading others around by the nose, whether it was getting Kaito to chase him, riling up Kiibo and Miu, provoking Maki, or making Shuichi get that inquisitive look on his face that had him following Kokichi around for hours to unravel whatever prank he was setting up before it was pulled (with mixed success rates on the detective's part), Kokichi was very good at getting others to do what she wanted them to.
She supposed that she shouldn't discount herself in that, but she had yet to do anything that she hadn't wanted to do anyway.
"I don't understand what you get out of this," Kirumi said. "If it is just to make me clean, that is something that I was inclined to do anyway."
"Until the others got in your way." He said it so simply that it failed to sound simple. It felt like an accusation or a trap, anything other than the plain truth that it was.
Kirumi pressed her lips together, recoiling at the feeling that she was somehow walking into a trap of his making. "I wouldn't say that."
"Of course not," he agreed. "And I made it so that you didn't have to."
Put that way, it seemed as if Kokichi was trying to do her a favor. That was a truly absurd notion though. He had made a nuisance of himself from the very beginning, as if it was his job to do so. There were very few people that she had seen him act kindly towards and Kirumi did not expect that she would be one of them.
"You cannot mean to say that you are doing such for my sake."
"Did I say that?" he asked.
No, he didn't. Then again, when did Kokichi ever just come out and say anything without it being a lie.
Kirumi sighed, unwilling to spend any more time trying to untangle the enigma before her. Or perhaps just unwilling to accept the answer that was presenting itself before her.
"I will say one thing though," Kokichi added, pulling her attention back toward him when she had been on the verge of returning to her cleaning duties. "I think Kaede was right that you should take a break."
Kirumi frowned at him. "I hope that you do not intend to try and force me to take one."
Kokichi chuckled. "I would never."
And true to his word, he did not.
What happened instead was that the next day, Kokichi had come up to her shortly before the lunch break and demanded that he make her tea. It wasn't an unusual request, not even from Kokichi himself, but he certainly made more of a show of it than usual. He had demanded that she serve him on top of the roof, necessitating that he pick the lock as roof access was a strictly guarded privilege. One that he knew she had access to, but she supposed simply asking her to unlock the door would have been too normal for him. And he'd made a very complicated request for the tea blend, how much milk and honey, the exact temperature. All things that she could do easily, of course, but most did not make request that made her flex her skills, so it was a bit refreshing.
It was nothing new when he demanded that she take a seat because "A minion should never stand above their leader." Kirumi would admit to being a bit amused as she played along with him, seeing as she was taller than him whether standing or sitting. Still, she obeyed his request as he bade her to pour herself a cup of tea and told her to drink under the guise of taste testing. "I wouldn't want you to get any funny ideas about poisoning me."
Kirumi chose not to be offended at the accusation, since she knew that that was why Kokichi usually said such things. He also refused to allow her to leave before he was done because "Someone has to clean up this mess and we both know that it's not going to be me." Indeed they did.
The result was that, entirely without meaning to, Kirumi ended up taking a half hour tea break with Kokichi. It wasn't until she was cleaning up the place setting that she realized it. He had been unusually calm. She had attributed it to him simply enjoying her tea, but now she realized that she, herself, had felt quite peaceful. It was an odd feeling. Odder still when she thought of the company that she had shared the time with.
"Same time next week," Kokichi said. "Only this time, I want tea cakes! And cookies! And they better be good or my organization will get you!" he called as he ran off.
After gathering up the mess they'd left behind, she was surprised to find that he had left the door propped open for her so that she wouldn't need to worry about her full hands. It was an unexpectedly kind gesture. Kirumi didn't dwell on it though. She merely went through the door, using her foot to move the blockage so that it would rock closed behind her, and set about cleaning their dishes.
A month later, the tea breaks had become such a regular occurrence that Kokichi didn't even need to ask her. She simply gathered up the tea settings, choosing a blend based on whatever his preferable flavor profile of the week was (He'd stolen Shuichi's coffee a few times, so he was likely to be in the mood for a more bitter blend), and brought her most recently made sweets (chocolates that Kaede had asked to learn to make, prompting Kirumi to make a few batches as demonstration.)
Most days, Kokichi ran ahead of her to open the door, but this time she was surprised to find that the door was still closed. She frowned, but managed to balance the tray carefully to take out her key and open the door to the roof. She laid out the tea setting, took her normal seat, and waited.
Ten minutes later and Kokichi still hadn't arrived. It was a lovely day. The cloud coverage was perfect to keep the sun's brightness in check while still warming her, she could hear birds singing nearby, and she had a decent view of other students enjoying their own breaks. Yet somehow, it wasn't as peaceful as it normally was. It was almost a bit... dull without Kokichi's tales to occupy part of her mind. She hadn't expected that having tea alone would feel so lonely and yet here she was, missing company that she had not realized she had been so thoroughly enjoying.
It was twenty minutes past their normal tea time that the door to the roof crashed open. He was panting in the doorway, hands on his knees and head down as he tried to catch his breath.
"You're late," Kirumi said. Not that he had told her to meet him here, not this time. She realized that she had come here of her own volition. Out of habit, she supposed, but she had been looking forward to it. She had come to enjoy these tea breaks far more than she had ever expected.
"Sorry to keep you waiting," he said. He smiled as he looked up at her, but she was jumping to her feet immediately. There was a mark around his neck and his cheek looked more red than usual.
"What on earth happened to you?" she asked. She dashed to his side and kneeled before him. He avoided her eyes, but the wide smile remained on his face as if nothing was wrong.
"Oh, you know how it is," he said lightly. "Evil leaders have to have showdowns with their nemesis, right?"
Kirumi frowned at that, unbuttoning the top button of his shirt so that she could get a better look at the bruise around his neck.
"Whoa! At least take me to dinner first!" he objected.
"Perhaps later," she replied absently. His eyes widened in surprise, but her focus was mostly on his bruised neck. She reached out to touch it, noting how he flinched at even the gentlest touch. "Who did this?" she demanded.
"It doesn't matter," he said.
Kirumi looked up at him with stern eyes. "It matters to me. Tell me."
He smiled at her, taking her hands in his and pulling them away from his neck. "It's my fault, I basically asked for it."
Kirumi frowned. "You are good at riling people up, that is certain, but that is no excuse for them to treat you this way. Our classmates, as I am assuming one of them is the culprit, should have better control over themselves. No matter what you say, it should not be escalated to violence."
Kokichi sighed. "Don't spend your breaks worrying over me."
The words made Kirumi pause as the words began to settle into her. She hadn't considered them as such but... that's what they were, weren't they? Kokichi had tricked her into taking breaks, once a week, for over a month now.
Kirumi shook her head at him, a small smile spreading across her face as she realized that he had guided her into one of his schemes just as seamlessly as he did their classmates. "I can spend my breaks however I wish and right now, it is my desire to tend to this so that it doesn't get worse." Kokichi opened his mouth to object and she quickly added, "And also to thank you. For this."
"It's a supreme leader's job to look after his minions," Kokichi told her.
"And it is a maid's duty to look after those that she cares for," Kirumi said. "I suppose we have no choice but to look after each other."
Kokichi sighed, but she could easily spot the blush on his face when she was this close to him. "I suppose I can't grant you this one request," he told her.
Kirumi smiled at him. "Thank you. I shall take you to dinner as you requested."
Kokichi's eyes were back to being large and just shy of panicked. "That's not necessary-"
"I couldn't possibly ignore your heartfelt request," she told him, letting a bit of teasing slip into her tone.
Kokichi seemed to blush all the more, turned away from her so that he could face the door. "Well, whatever. I guess I can let you treat me if you really want to."
"I do," she assured him softly.
Kokichi peeked at her once over his shoulder before turning back to the door. "Well, the tea is probably cold now anyway, so gather it all up and we'll just have to try again."
"After I see to your injuries."
"Fine," he groaned.
The smile was still on Kirumi's face as she went to gather up their tea settings. It was nice that at least one of her classmates seemed to understand her. And perhaps that understanding could be something a little more if she implemented a scheme of her own.

Hi, I want to make a request, but if it's too specific or long for you then I understand not doing it. Could I have a scenario of Korekiyo and Male!Reader where the two of them are friends in the V3 killing game. And could this then lead to scenario where Korekiyo kills Tenko (not because of the 100 friends thing but because of a different reason) but he survives because Tenko was the one who killed Angie (First come, First serve rule) and the Reader is the only one who wants to stay his friend?
No problem! The more specifically, the more easier for me to write, but also kinda hard. Thank you for requesting either way!! I hope you like it <33
I just realized it was male!reader omfg wjshiwvwjwvsjafshsfsbwu <3333 now I'm more comfortable writing it
🥛 Mod Kiibo 🥛
Raffle ends tomorrow!! The results will come out soon!! If interested, join in today!! If you want to request me don't forget to check out the pinned post 🥛Also I'm not very confident of my writing so bare with my grammar 🥛
Warnings:
❗Fluff❗(idek if this is a warning but-)
❗Slight slight angst❗
The trial ends , everybody know the truth. They know, they couldn't believe it but they surely do. How do they treat him the way they treat him before again?
Shuichi had a sorry look hanged on his face, looking at korekiyo, he Hesitated, should he apologize to him? Would it even made things less awkward?
" there's no use in apologizing shumai, korekiyo is a killer, we can't believe in him anymore!'
Just as when Shuichi is having a hard time thinking, kokichi appeared behind him and lay his hand on his shoulder, he uses his usual teasing tone saying the sentence out loud for everyone to listen.
"H-hey! Kokichi! That's roug-"
Shuichi was about to correct kokichi as he slowly stuttered. But then it was interrupted by korekiyo's slightly trembling voice.
" no, no it's fine, I understand if you guys want to treat me like that, I have no objections for this"
He said, as he wrapped his hands around himself, as if he was trying to comfort and hide himself from the others.
" see, shumai. He's now a person with a Killing intention, we can't believe a killer like him! "
Kokichi stated, loud and clearly, nearly everyone can hear what he said. Everyone stood at there quietly, no one had any objections on what kokichi said. This scene made a certain figure trigger.
They Stepped hard on the floor, making a loud stumping voice echoed through the entire room.
" Stop it-! Stopit stopit stopit stopit stopit!"
There was a trace of hoarseness in the voice, the person screamed,
The person was you.
You and korekiyo are friends, he was the one by your side when you can't believe the truth. How he comforts you when kaede's death happened. How he supports you and motivate you to don't give up on your life.
Of course, you couldn't believe what he done, he tried to kill tenko. But, this doesn't stop him from being a great person to you.
How kokichi just treated him just now, just made you mad, angry, sad.... You dont want anyone to treat him like that.
He doesn't deserve this at all....
You ran across the crowd, tears flows through the air due to the strong Wind resistance.
While running , you can also hear footsteps, chasing behind you. Whoever's doing that, it's annoying, you just wanted time to be alone.
"Stop- Y/N!"
You hear a familiar voice behind you, it was soothing, calming , but what they said just now, were mixed with some trembling, is it the person you're thinking of ? Is it him?
Suddenly, you felt something hold onto your hand and tries to push you over to their side. You turn your head, locked with the person's eye. Slowly, you stopped running...
It was the person you're thinking of, of course it is.
Korekiyo stood at where he was, holding your hand. He looked at you, tenderly.
" w- what do you want"
Though you don't mean to imply it that way, that mean tone, but you couldn't think anymore, you just want to talk to him.
"... Why"
Korekiyo splatted out a mumble , it was spoken really softly underneath his mask, but you could still hear it.
" why... Did you acted like that just now... Are you... Concern about me?"
After hearing his statement, you burst out tears as he slightly jump out of surprise, you were mad, of course you are concern about him, he means the world to you!
" what are you talking about? Of course! Of course I concern about you, you don't deserve this at all! I mean it! I don't want anyone to treat you like that!" I don't!"
You splatted out all the words you've kept in your heart, saying it out while crying at the same time.
Korekiyo Feeling distressed, he holds you in his arms. You could hear short breathing as he softly speaks to you, with a gentle tone.
" ... Thank you..."
You then grasps his back tightly and stated to him as well,
" I'll forever be your friend no matter what others treat you, so don't give up on your life as well, take back what you said just now in the trial room!"
After hearing what you stated , his heart starts to get warm, he don't deserve a friend like you, but if he said that out you would have to lecture him again. So he kept it in his heart.
" I take back"
He said, Although it's just three simple words, but the meaning and love inside of that towards you never failed to transfer it to you as well.
You guys smiled at end while looking at each other. You'll forever be by his side, you would always be!

Prolly looking too much into this but once you place Kaede on the protag place in trial (imgurDOTcom/5qOi7dk) you get Mukuro, Akane & Tenko at the same place as athletic (tho not the strongest) girls. Progeny Togami, royalty Sonia & oracle Angie. Sakura & Kiibo sacrificed themselves (similiarly to Chiaki & Ryoma) and were the last classmate deaths. Gundham and Ouma wanted to save others. Also troublemakers Mondo, Nagito and... Shuichi, hm. Tho no Monokuma opposite of Kaede ofc, unlike for others
(x) I made more images of this for clarity’s sake- plus it’s slightly motion-sick inducing concentrating on the rotated image, orz. (Originals here):
That’s interesting! And I just love where Ouma is on both of them- he showed interest in Kiyotaka’s rousing speech in TDP, and his speech about sharing the secrets in DR1 was a direct mirror for Ouma’s actions in the Meet and Greet. Plus as you said, Gundham and his convoluted plot in Ch4 is a mirror for his own, including the ‘supreme leader of evil act’ covering that it was for the greater good, and someone ‘becoming a sacrifice’. Though speaking of sacrifices, Fuyuhiko too tried to sacrifice himself- though not for the same kind of reasons, and it didn’t carry through. Kiibo indeed did blow himself up in the effort to help, though of course we didn’t see his remains. Hm.
While Kaede isn’t opposite a mastermind so much, she and Hajime are opposite of some major figures (well, imposter of one in the case of Twogami, but still an ‘unknown’ at a point in the game), and a shadow Prime Minister - effectively a ‘double’ - seems to be one of the biggest players in V3′s history. What’s more is that they’re also influential leaders, and the protagonists all have to reckon with their effect and influence (or lack thereof) on others.
As for Shuichi, I am wondering if this could do with organisations and positions- Nagito was from a well-off (noble?) family not dissimilar to Shuichi, and had a bizarre situation with his innate talent while Kirumi noted that Shuichi had some untapped potential in him. Meanwhile Mondo was the leader of a large gang and had to deceive others as a big part of attaining that, while Shuichi’s situation of becoming a detective - something driven by his uncle, make of that what you will - could have led into driving the Ultimate Hunt, if his lab indicates. All of them end up with positions as leaders... in a fashion, with Nagito effectively leading as a rival and... attempting to cause group deaths. Hmmmm.
Tsumugi looks interesting too- matching with Leon, who was effectively dragged into another’s plot first, and Peko, a ‘tool’ who took initiative to act on her own. Two opposing situations there, but I found it curious how on meeting Tsumugi in TDP, Peko zeroed in on her suppressing her presence like it’s more plain than it actually is. Although if she matches up with Leon being stuck in a situation against her will, it’s symbolic of her being trapped, too. Whatever way the ball rolls for Tsumugi (hah) she’s a tool of TDR now, although if she was also an international spy, she had more use of suppressing her presence in the past.
I’m getting carried away a little but it does make me wonder how much of the placements is accidental or no - since it would be very difficult to effectively do double placement like this, and impossible to really place everybody in kind - but I think it’s still worth a look because you never know. Plus it’s fun to speculate on it with regard to the characters more on the forefront, aha
(Following on from here)
#curiosities#bit of an association game really but?? WOW#it's enlightening#a little Sus too#thank you for sharing!#Ultimate Hunt#*edited the first para wording#sdjfhhdfkjfhkjd#*edit edit: Leon#whoops that wasnt a good one

Hello! I hope you guys aren't too busy for a request. May I have Kokichi with an s/o that's a mind reader?
Kokichi with a S/O who’s a mind reader
This one’s gunna be fun..
-Mod Shuichi (who’s sorry that this is so angsty)
TW: Character putting themselves down, mention of death
Oh?
Uh oh.
“Hmm.. are you noww? I doubt thaaat~” “Try me!” You pout.
He starts thinking of the dirtiest stuff you could imagine...
You immediately flush up, “Stoppp!” “Not enough proof! Tell me what I was thinking about word by word in graphic detail ASAP!!”
This was gunna be hell..
He constantly tries to get your attention, and whenever you gave it to him, he was a major tease with it.
One day, Monokuma’s motive came up.
This motive was... someone was gunna forget everybody’s talents, and whenever they tried to ask before a body discovery announcement, they’d be executed.
That chosen person just so happened to be Kokichi.
“Pssh! Booooriiing.. what’s this gunna do anyway?” “Maybe someone can use your pea sized brain to their advantage and use their talent to kill you! Plus.. you’re the most hated here!” Monokuma laughed, Kokichi only rolling his eyes.
And soon enough.. it happened. There goes his memory.
Whenever he was around you from that point on, he started thinking like.. well, any average person. Songs in his head, maybe a meme that made him chuckle..
And of course, bad thoughts.
And he had a lot of them.
What Monokuma said had been on his mind.. You’re the most hated here!
Maybe he was right..? No one would care if he died anyway. They’d care about the blackened, everyone hates him. They probably wouldn’t even bother to investigate his murder anyway, they’d accept their fate... they’d rather die then avenge his death.
His thoughts got cut off by a hand on his shoulder, facing to see you.
“Hmmm? What brings you here? Did my charm lure you in, perhaps?”
Monokuma said nothing about people telling him their talent.. right? So he has no right to execute Kokichi... right? Even so, the person who says their talent should be executed. Not the one who didn’t ask. Not the one who didn’t want to know their talent. If that were the case, and if people really hated him, they’d say their talent..
...
“W..What.. are you even thinking about?? All of us would avenge your death...”
His eyes widen.
“What are you talking about, S/O? Are you spouting nonsense again?”
“Ouma. I’m the SHSL Mind reader. I’d say ‘did you forget’, but you obviously did.”
You look around.. no sign of Monokuma.
“..Liar. You can’t lie to a liar, ya know. I hate liars.” His tone drops.
“You were doubting us. You were saying that nobody would care if you died. Which we would. You’re a classmate, our classmate. We’d avenge you. We, even if you don’t think we do, care about you.”
Your words were like poison to his ears, they rang through his head.
Stupid stupid stupid. How could you forget? How can you forget such a unique talent like that? Did you seriously let a stupid stuffed toy make you forget such a thing? You’re an idiot.
“I’m flattered, but you aren’t stupid. This is Monokuma we’re talking about, anything is possible when it comes to him.
At this point, he gave up, letting his head droop with a sigh.
“..I still doubt you.” “On?” “The caring part. I’ve been so shitty to everyone.. how could they care?” “Welll.. there’s me, Shuichi, Gonta, Angie, Himiko.. Kirumi, Kiibo.. I’m sure others do as well, they’re just annoyed. I doubt that they want you to die, though.”
You’re so optimistic about this... he can’t tell whether he should smile or leave the room. So, he smiles.
“Thanks.. I guess. But you better not tell anyone about this! I’ll give you the biggest noogie ever!” Ouma pouts.
“Haha.. I won’t.. I won’t.”

Stay safe, everyone.

Regarding Miu’s actions in Ch4- I’ve seen her criticized for coming up with a murder plan despite having the inventions Kokichi was working on with her and that it made no sense for her to turn like that but I personally think Ch3 actually was a really important shift that pushed her into that state of desperation. And while we are limited to Shuichi’s perspective and can’t really know for sure, here’s some reasons I think Miu’s actions in CH4 make sense to her character (and don’t make her bad or stupid- just flawed and scared).
1. the student council’s impact- Angie’s council shifted the dynamic of the students significantly. Not only did it divide the group in half it also highlighted a very important issue that would plague any plan to work together. Everyone did not want the same thing. Angie’s group was completely content to just stay in the school, accept their life being trapped forever. Miu did NOT want that at all. And regardless of how great her inventions are, they have limits and would require a concentrated group effort (there are still 2 exisal’s in operation at the time and Miu more than likely recognized how impressive the technology being used against them was and that it would not be an easy feat to just knock them out). And seeing just how easily a schism formed in the group would definitely shake any confidence in a plan that more than likely RELIED on them all working together and trusting one another. Something that was put into doubt when the student council started imposing rules on the others like not being out at nighttime. Gonta even closed up the “exit”. Miu was a distrustful person and did not really have that great of bonds with the other students to begin with so this would absolutely make her lose faith in any plan working. You could argue that Miu believed in the ability of the group to cooperate far less than Kokichi did and the events of these few days only solidified her belief that it was a lost cause.
2. tenko+angie’s murder- While Miu is not always the most astute person in trials and tends to jump to conclusions (even if they are hilariously right on), she is still intelligent enough to most likely realize just how CLOSE things got in chapter 3. While Kirumi’s murder was very complicated and Kaede’s relied on Shuichi calling her out, Korekiyo got extremely close to getting away with it. Tenko’s murder relied on Kiibo’s photo function and Kokichi falling through the floorboard to even ensure they would be able to pin it on him (even if that one seemed more obvious). And Angie’s murder... hinged on a tiny clue that they only found based on the 1/3 chance they even picked that room. Seeing a person dead, having another one murdered brazenly in front of 3 other people, and finding out one of the people who was on “your side” of the whole student council debacle... is pretty heavy and it’s no surprise that it would freak Miu out. The first two murders could be rationalized or understood to some extent. These however are much more shocking and cruel and a major escalation of the killing game that of course shook everyone up. Shuichi’s narration says everyone cried with Himiko after so while we can’t know what Miu was feeling because we only see through Shuichi’s eyes- it makes sense that Miu was also very shaken up. Not because she had any real connection to Angie, Tenko, or Kiyo (she didn’t- Miu is actually quite callous about the others deaths) but more because it probably scared her into thinking the only way to beat the game was to play by its rules and get out herself before she was the next victim.
Chapter 3 is a huge shakeup in the dynamic of the cast and the game that pushes it into the second half. Lots of people write off its significance because of the whole Kiyo reveal and the wasted potential of the second murder rule but CH3 shook up the entire dynamic. Maki started participating in investigating, Himiko begins to take things seriously. Gonta grows more frustrated at his inability to protect people. Kaito is getting sick and unable to even pretend he’s helping likely is starting to feel inferior and not like the hero. And while you can’t know with Kokichi- the fact he is constantly around and not doing his own thing suggests the motive and current environment also had him a bit lost. And same with Miu who relies on her inventions- the whole supernatural vibes of CH3 put her very out of her element.
3. killing game simulator- Miu is not a strong-willed person. She bends easily when pushed, that’s her whole thing. So when the game pushed back against her resolve, guess what was conveniently there. While you can’t really know for sure how much was carefully orchestrated by Tsumugi and how much came down to chance- there is no denying the motives for murder were planted for specific people. The ritual was set in place for Kiyo and the computer was set there for Miu- the only person who would be able to understand it. So having it right there when the game started to get crazy- of course the idea would come to mind that she could use it for her own benefit. That she could achieve the perfect murder that almost happened in Ch3 and she could escape before things got worse. And just like Kokichi told Kaede, the moment she entertained the idea of murder- she was playing Monokuma’s game. She had already lost. And Kokichi is an obvious target. She had the relationship with him from the inventions that could get them alone together and she was aware how intelligent he was so he would be a real threat in her using the virtual world to cover up her crimes.
4. the outside world- Kokichi taking the key card at the beginning of CH4 and telling no one whats on it likely pushed her even more. She wants to know whats out there and to make her impact on the world. And him likely being extremely squirrelly about it would only fuel her paranoia and ruin any partnership they had (since Kaito noticed Kokichi was acting weird it only makes sense that Miu would also recognize the shift in the way he acts after seeing the outside world- plus he likely used her inventions to get there so that would only add to her suspicion of him). So the partnership that was likely already full of suspicion only got worse at the opening of the chapter. And while we can’t know for sure I imagine the idea of the program was planted in CH3 but the plan and determination solidified quickly after the trial and exploration amped up her paranoia (she acts very erratically at the beginning of chapter 4 and seems very panicked).
And while this isn’t related to why I think her mindset makes sense in CH4 and how CH3 fueled her desperation to get out but I also don’t think she could have just been stopped. While how Kokichi reacted and sacrificed her and Gonta as a countermeasure- I don’t think there was some magical easier solution that would have stopped her. If Kokichi had told, no one would have believed him and it could have ruined any chance of cohesion and cause more murders. If he had refused to go in, she could have likely shifted her target and changed someone else’s avatar settings. And if he had just died or murdered her... the two people with the knowledge of her inventions would have been gone and the game would have likely carried on. And when the outside world reveal eventually did happen... Gonta could have very likely still tried to end it all for everyone to protect them from that awful reality. It’s an extremely messed up situation regardless and really interesting to think about but I do think the impact of CH3 gets overlooked in the motivations of Miu, Gonta, and Kokichi in CH4. And I also think it’s super important to not overlook Miu’s and Gonta’s roles and motivations either
#i'm just thinking about chapter 4 again#i'm always thinking about ch4 to be fair#miu iruma#mythoughts!

I've been watching a bit of Spongebob lately, so I, gotta ask: The V3 Kids find a magic pencil, and decide to doodle themselves. The doodle then comes to life, steals the pencil, and goes on a rampage throughout the academy. Their reactions/attempts to fix this?
Interesting!
Rantaro Amami:
This was strange.
But if he spent so long looking for his sisters, he could apprehend himself.
Hopefully.
Kaede Akamatsu:
She needed to fix this.
Her twin was better than this doodle for sure.
This wouldn't be too bad if she hurried.
Ryoma Hoshi:
Well, at least his classmates will know that isn’t him.
And it’s not like he can’t take the doodle down easily.
He’s much faster than it.
Kirumi Tojo:
Another thing on her to-do list.
This shouldn’t be too difficult.
Though she did wonder how this was possible.
Angie Yonaga:
She never thought she’d live to see the day one of her drawings came to life!
Maybe she should draw something else…
After she got the doodle back, of course!
Tenko Chabashira:
Okay, that was weird.
But doodles didn’t have any strength to them.
So she could take hers back easily!
Korekiyo Shinguji:
Very interesting…
If it weren’t causing trouble, he would observe it longer.
This wouldn’t be difficult.
Miu Iruma:
What even?
Should she bother with getting the doodle back?
After all, who could say no to two of her?
Gonta Gokuhara:
His doodle wasn’t acting like a gentleman at all!
He had to fix this.
And then apologize to everyone.
Kokichi Ouma:
Well this was just great!
He couldn’t let a doodle outdo him!
He had to step up his game.
Kaito Momota:
Okay, he didn’t know how this happened.
But he had to stop the doodle.
Otherwise, who knew what would happen.
Kiibo:
This was odd.
But he was sure he could fix it!
Probably.
Tsumugi Shirogane:
She couldn’t have this on her hands.
She set on getting the doodle back immediately.
It wouldn’t be able to cause trouble for long.
Shuichi Saihara:
So maybe he shouldn’t have touched that pencil.
But surely he could get the doodle to stop.
It couldn’t be that hard, right?
Maki Harukawa:
Couldn’t she just kill the doodle?
That would make this easier.
She didn’t want to try to comprehend how this started.
Himiko Yumeno:
See, magic was real!
But now she had to use a counterspell…
This was a lot of trouble.

HimiKiyo Week 2021 Day 4: I Am Not Your Queen
// Mastermind Kiyo AU for day 4! Because that’s a pretty good reason to be enemies. Could things be different? It’ll take a while for these two to figure out.

Amino: (coming soon)
“That’s right. If all other alibis check out…” Shuichi said, hand on his chin. This was the final class trial, everyone’s fate hinged directly on what was going to happen next. It depended on the case they’ve built up so far being absolutely correct. One irrefutable accusation and the mastermind’s entire game was crumbling to pieces like a house of cards. “Then there can only be one person that was behind the lies that killed Kaede, Rantaro, and all our other friends.”
His finger pointed across and to his left, at the person standing between Tsumugi and Maki at their trial bench. “Korekiyo Shinguji, you’re the real mastermind behind the killing game!”
The detective's words echoed throughout the room, bouncing off the walls. Himiko, in spite of how many times others called her “slow” grew increasingly silent as the discussion kept going back to them and their actions from earlier. They had been outed as a serial killer in a previous trial but in spite of everything they helped Himiko at her lowest point immediately after what had happened with Angie and Tenko.
She remembered crying on Kiyo’s shoulder, listening to their soothing voice put her at ease, advice like a wise sage being passed down. Each and every time she needed it, she would go to that anthropology lab. Each time her footsteps took her in, her feelings only grew stronger. Her first kiss was in there, with them. Before what happened there was a pull she felt, but she never got much of a chance to get close with how intimidating they came off as.
Kiyo, who was now replying calmly as though none of it was bothering them. This was how it started in the other trial too, So that should be reassuring right?
“Yes, it was me.” they said, “I just so happened to pick up my own after noticing Kaede had taken one with help from my nanokumas.”
Oh.
Oh no.
And now it felt like the world was crumbling again. Only instead of feeling deflated and alone she was enraged. Enraged that the case against Kiyo didn’t have any holes in it. How could it be true? And now just admitting to it?
“Was all of that… was all of it a lie Kiyo?” she begged that what they had was real. Even now standing across from them as enemies.
“No. I’ve been up front with you this whole time. There were simply parts of the story you weren’t ready to know. And you still… aren’t ready yet.”
“But you- but you-” words escaped the Mage, leaving her unable to think calmly and properly. “You could have stopped this at any point, but you kept going.” She didn’t even notice they felt a tinge of fear underneath the words she was replying to.
“Why assume I have enough control to end it early, that would be going far off-script.” A small bead of sweat formed which the killer wiped away.
Wait… off script? What did something like that even mean?
Himiko turned to notice that Maki was giving them a death glare. “Because you’re the mastermind, obviously.”
“Oh, I see. In that case… no, I wasn’t working alone to do this.” they began to explain. “This wouldn’t have been possible without Team Danganronpa and all the fans watching right this very minute!”
“T-Team… D-Danganronpa?” Tsumugi stuttered in shock.
“Yes, the studio that put together the killing game with me on the ground so to speak to act on their behalf. We are not actually the only ones left alive, there are more humans alive than any other time in history and millions upon millions of them tune into this program.“
“The world is… fine?” Kiibo pondered. The revelation made him tense about what his inner voice may be.
“Why would the world want a killing game?”
Kiyo responded “It works as a kind of release valve, I suppose. Conflicts have dwindled over the existence and increasing popularity of this show after all.”
“Can we… Can we go home? Kiyo please, let me go, let *us* go. You can do that right?”
“Even though it is not destroyed, you still cannot.” The other voice came from Korekiyo once more. Sister was back in action. Sternly she looked over each of the remaining survivors. As though she was looking down on them.
Himiko glared at her from under her hat. “You again.” While she was feeling so complicated about Korekiyo right now, she unambiguously disliked their “Sister”. Then it hit her. Maybe if the Sister personality was the one that was the one really in charge she could forgive them… maybe.
It would take a lot after something as horrible as this. Especially since Maki and Shuichi swore to never forgive the mastermind, she was certain that she wouldn’t either. Even if Kiyo was just a lackey it would take time to trust again.
“I’m pleased you’ve all made it this far.” Sister said, sounding incredibly pleased with herself, rather than anything they’d accomplished. “I wasn’t sure you had it in you. I’d like you all to meet the fans.”
The blush bear sweated, making the cartoon ‘awooga’ sound like a character seeing an attractive person. “Yes ma’am.”
Futuristic gears spun in front of Monokuma, bringing a keyhole to in front of him, he stuck the key in and several screens proceeded to descend. Faces appeared: Asian, white, black, men, women, even children. Various expressions across their features. None of them stayed long enough for any witness to recognize, even if they remembered anyone they had known.
“These are the fans of Danganronpa.” Sister explained. “Danganronpa is their collective favorite show. The 53rd season has been one of the most successful in years.
The discussion was halted. It was surreal, more so than even waking up here originally was. All of those people had been watching the whole time.
Himiko asked “So the fans they saw… everything?” Did they know who the mastermind was?”
“I presume some of them did, but this reveal is equally for their benefit. There’s a vibrant debate each season about who the mastermind is and how they did it. Occasionally spoilers will get leaked.”
“So this… was the killing real?” Tsumugi’s voice wavered as she tried to speak up.
“Yes, that part was real. The people playing those eliminated characters are gone from this world as well as the real one.” Sister took off Kiyo’s hat and put it across their chest looking solemn. “They knew there was a strong chance of that, and signed up like many other fans before them.”
“Was it you or Korekiyo who committed Rantaro’s murder?” Shuichi prodded. The shock was wearing off. The trial was continuing at last in the wake of 2 extremely unnerving revelations.
“I feel like that’s a question dear Korekiyo should give the answer to.” Their shared body pulled up the mask and Kiyo began to speak again
“It was as I said many times, I’m only meant to be an observer. I… admittedly broke that role when I chose to do what I did. I even apologized to them, to myself for it.”
“Then why, surely you must have had a reason.” Shuichi prodded.
“Regrettably for my ethnography, our class that should have been in a completely fresh, sealed environment was muddied when I did it. Sometimes what I want comes into conflict with a higher power and they were banking on Rantaro Amami’s death being the hook for the episode.”
“So then Kaede’s shot put ball really missed…then why didn’t you kill all of us when we got the answer wrong? Simply f--for Television ratings?”
“I’m afraid the answer to that is yes. That is why everyone survived the sham trial. The fans would have completely revolted.”
“But maybe we’d be spared this revolting game continuing. Do you understand all of this is wrong?” Maki shot at them.
“Those are quite the harsh words from a professional killer. Though… maybe I shouldn’t say that, your backstory is fake after all.”
“So then… I didn’t spend all that time…” Maki muttered. That wouldn't stop all of it from feeling deeply real.
“No you did not. That is part of the Ultimate Real Fiction.” Kiyo explained. “It was put into your mind by the flashback lights, as Shuichi deduced. All of our lives were.”
“Being fundamentally changed into a completely different person with a completely different life… what kind of cruel person would force someone to-” Maki
“Forced to?” Kiyo asked quizzically. “No, I can assure you every one of you wanted this. Team Danganronpa takes all of your input very seriously.”
“Our… input?” Himiko asked.
Kiyo clapped their hands together. “Of course. Now I shall show you!”
The screen cut away from the faces of the fans and to some kind of tape. Shuichi Saihara stood in front of the camera. He spoke about how he loved Danganronpa and wanted to be a detective character.
He finished with “ And I’d do anything to be in danganronpa. I will come up with the best, most gruesome murders. Everyone would love it! And, a detective character hasn’t been the blackened yet, so I’m sure I could do that. I’m even thinking about the perfect punishment… for the ultimate detective.”
His glee was evident. Someone so against the killing right now had been one of the biggest fans ever, with a Junko like joy in thinking about how he would be punished as the culprit. It really was like before coming here he wasn’t the same person.
They even went so far as to play Kaede and Kaito’s revealing in part they had said things like “I don’t have any faith in humanity” and “I’m going to kill everyone and win.” respectively.
“So you see… none of us were the same. If you like how you are now then you may stay perhaps? Finish the fight of hope against despair. Or we, as friends, could all stay here?”
“No, we won’t do that.” Shuichi said, pointing dramatically. “Right guys? The only way to get through and win this. It’s to reject hope and despair. The very premise of Danganronpa.”
It was put up to a vote. Before that, the outside world had tried to argue Hope or Despair, reinforcing the choice. But the cast continued to refuse.
“We’ll end this with our own hands!”
It came and went. And… Everybody abstained.?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kiibo flew out of the trial room, determined to end the entire killing game now no matter the cost. Everyone would finally be free. All he needed was to finish off this prison school with his upgrades. Rocket boosters made it easy to fly to the next part to blow up.
Down below him, the remaining survivors stood in the courtyard. Kiyo had stopped right before outside. Himiko stopped as soon as she noticed they weren’t running like the others. And those three stopped everything because their friend was endangering herself.
She approached them, which caused a curious head tilt. They had been waving before that moment. It should have been goodbye forever.
“I can’t… let it end like this. It shouldn’t end with you dying like Junko.”
“Why not? Do you not doubt my feelings? I’m just playing my part after all.”
“Your part, look… about that, listen.”
“And what a grand p-” It seemed like they wanted their final words to be some grandiose speech.
“We don’t have time, please.” She grabbed them by the hand, watching the school building collapse further as it became less able to hold its own weight with all the holes punched in each wall. Over her shoulder she pleaded with Maki to help move the obstinate murderer.
The rock above must have spurred Maki on. If she had done nothing, surely both of them would have been crushed. And as painful as it was to keep someone who worked for the captors around she wasn’t about to lose another friend after watching what had happened with Kaito and Kokichi getting themselves killed in that harebrained scheme.
If it ended like that, it felt like it was disrespecting their plan to stop the killing.
Maki also helped Himiko pull Kiyo away towards an opening that formed after Kiibo blew himself up to take the cage down with him. Four people crawled through, blinded by a bright expanse.
Birds chirped. Several voices could be heard shouting. It was time to go home.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The campus was in a bright field. In fact they could clearly see the ruined courtyard from where they all stood. The wall was broken down and so all that was left behind was the twisted, warped metal of their former cage and the buildings they had walked for the several months they were in a fictional world cut off from everything else.
The line separating the two worlds was broken. It was really that thin the whole time. And it reflected the true reality they found around them.
It was as unfamiliar as their memory of waking up inside what they had just left. Nobody but the mastermind retained any memory of ever being in this place.
They were led to a hallway by uniformed employees, many rooms lining each side of it. It looked exactly like the dorms that had been in the fictional hope’s peak. Save for the fact all the placards were for them: the survivors and the deceased.
If there was much spoken, Himiko didn’t pay attention to it. She didn’t know what to say, how to process much of it internally.
Korekiyo was much more aware and listened, chiming in hoping to be helpful in spite of the fact none of them would want their help.
The mastermind was almost always scripted to be killed, to be thoroughly and finally defeated by the hope of the students. It was in fact what they had agreed to happen. This class was very different. Shuichi and Kaito and Maki of course, but the whole time Himiko was special too.
And she didn’t remember why that was.
They had agreed in private at some point before the procedure to fully become their characters but after the first scene’s rehearsal that it would be terrible if only one of the two had to die. In the moment of escape there was a split second where Kiyo could swear a spark in her eyes indicating some kind of memory of this.
Was it an unspoken acknowledgement? They had to check. If she had really remembered something, then maybe there wasn’t a need to perform a routine as enemies. And they could be forgiven for what happened. At least, more easily so than if she did not recall what things were like leading up to the actual game.
After things settled down, Himiko and Kiyo privately met once again. Both were nervous.
“Himiko Yumeno. I… would like to ask you something.”
She didn’t look up, just sitting in the chair and debating whether or not she should be afraid of them. They could go back to being Sister at any point, and that would really freak her out.
“Go ahead.” the redhead muttered.
“Why did you save me?” Kiyo leaned forward trying to listen more closely.
“I don’t know. I… maybe it was a mistake letting you live. For some reason though I felt… like I had to.”
Maki, Shuichi, and Tsumugi certainly let her know how much of a mistake they thought it was. It didn’t feel good, even if the latter two tried their best to be polite about it.
“If it makes you feel any better I’m not sure how I feel about this either.”
“Do you… no, did you want to die Kiyo?”
“Yes. I was quite fine with it.” they held their tongue upon finishing, hesitating. That statement was not entirely true. They had accepted it, but part of them still felt bad that only she would get out of this if they had. And that was debatably the worst outcome. The other two options would have been preferable, and they got one of them!
“I… well you know how much I wanted to die in the killing game. How scared I was.”
“I knew how much you wanted to die before, from your audition.”
That reminded her. “Why didn’t you show any from mine then?”
“I…” Kiyo started, rubbing the back of their neck. “I was sure you would hate me even more than you already should if I showed it the way I did the others.”
“Can you show me it?” she perked up a little bit. Why were they so concerned about if she hated them? They certainly seemed willing to tell her all sorts of things even though they were enemies.
They nodded and produced a USB drive. They walked over to a laptop and put it in. “And if you don’t remember anything after this, I’ll tell you everything.”
“Promise?” she pleaded with them.
“Yes. a small smile was hidden by their mask. Maybe being enemies wasn’t a forever thing.

fave dr ships and why?? :0
Hmm, that’s a pretty fun question! There are so many fun character interactions in each game that there’s a lot of ships I really like, so I’ll try to briefly just touch on some of my favorites in each game!
There aren’t really any spoilers in my reply, but I’m going to include a read-more anyway because even trying to keep it brief, there were a lot of ships to cover, so it still got pretty long.
In dr1, I honestly really love naegiri. Naegi gets a lot of flack for “not being interesting enough” or “not bringing anything to the table,” but I think he worked really well as the protagonist for the first installment of the series, and I absolutely think he and Kirigiri have a lot of great chemistry. Kirigiri and Naegi’s relationship is all about finding a balance between doubt and belief, and both of them really help each other grow as people. I think their dynamic is at its best in the first game, since Kirigiri gets so much time to shine and really feels more like the deuteragonist of the series than anyone else. Plus watching Naegi try to learn how to read her stoic façade when she’s really quite emotional under the surface is so much fun.
I’m also a huge fan of aoisakura. I love everything about their interaction, and chapter 4 of dr1 is still one of the best in the whole series in my opinion. Both of them care so much about each other even from early on, and Aoi’s anger at how the others treat Sakura or talk about her like she’s hardly even a person comes across as so legitimate. It’s such a great and largely underrated ship, so I always love to see it.
I also have to say that I like kirizono quite a lot! They don’t have much in the way of interaction in canon, considering how early Maizono dies, but it’s one of those ships where I’m much more interested in the overall potential. Kirigiri seems to have a very good grasp of what Maizono was actually like as a person and what she might have been thinking in her final moments. While she uncovers the truth of the events of chapter 1, she doesn’t see Maizono as irredeemable for tricking Naegi, but merely as someone who was scared and who ultimately couldn’t go through with her own plan. She knew that Maizono was trying to help Naegi in her own way by leaving him a dying message, and I would have loved to see a detective-and-assistant duo with Kirigiri and Maizono in some alternate universe.
Other ships from dr1 that I enjoy even if I’m not super invested in them from an analysis standpoint are celesgiri (how could I not ship the original liar and detective), naekusaba (DR IF really sold me on this one), ishimondo (all around a solid, great ship), and naegami (honestly I just think the idea of Kirigiri and Togami both dating Naegi but barely tolerating each other as friends is really funny).
Sdr2 is probably the game where I wound up the least invested in shipping, but there are still a few that I like!
Hinanami isn’t quite as appealing to me as naegiri, mostly due to Nanami being used twice for Hinata’s character development, but they have some really cute moments that I do enjoy a lot, and I really love any interaction between the two of them as gamer friends. Nanami is so much more mischievous than most people give her credit for; I still can’t help remembering when I replayed sdr2 a year or two ago and got to the part with her threatening to poke Hinata’s eyes out during an investigation, and I nearly lost my shit because I didn’t remember it at all from previous playthroughs.
I’m not quite as invested in komahina as I thought I would be when I first got into DR, but I definitely don’t mind it either! I think Komaeda’s feelings for Hinata are pretty textual and undeniable; lines like “I’m in love with the hope that’s sleeping inside you” are impossible, in my opinion, to handwave as “just a friend thing,” and Megumi Ogata has all but stated outright that her character song for Komaeda is specifically about Hinata.
Of course, I definitely think Komaeda would need to work on a lot of his internalized ideas about talent and self-worth, and that he and Hinata would have to start as friends first before carrying their relationship into anything romantic, but if their really cute interation in ndrv3’s talent development plan is anything to go off of, I think Hinata definitely does want to help Komaeda value himself more and wants to be friends with him.
As for other ships that I enjoy more casually, I like twobuki (if that’s even what people are still calling Twogami/Impostor and Ibuki as a ship), sondam (all of Sonia’s nerding out about Gundam’s chuunibyou interests is honestly super adorable), nanamiki (I feel like Nanami and Mikan could honestly have a cute dynamic if Mikan weren’t under Junko’s influence), and… I actually have no idea for this ship name, but Impostor/Hinata is really sweet. This is more related to dr3, but one of the few things I did come out feeling positively about was Impostor/Mitarai, despite everything else about how the story turned out.
Finally, there’s ndrv3! There’s quite a lot of ships I really love here, so it’s actually a little hard to narrow it down.
I hardly think I need to mention saiouma at this point, since it’s the ship I talk about the most on this blog, but it’s still my favorite ship from pretty much anything ever. I love their dynamic so much: the way they both embody the themes of “truth” and “lies” within the game respectively, the way they constantly want to know more about each other while being afraid to open up or trust each other completely, and the fact that they so perfectly manage to capture the chase of the “phantom thief vs. detective” trope to the point that it was even lampshaded in Ouma’s love hotel... all of these things just make it so much fun.
It’s another ship where I just love thinking about the potential, whether in an AU where Ouma might have lived or else where the killing game never took place at all. I honestly really love ships that deal with a lot of slow-burn and both characters thinking their affections are unrequited when it turns out they’re actually both just idiots with a bad case of pining. I also really love the fact that, in my opinion, it’s a ship where Saihara would have to really take the initiative in the end—otherwise, Ouma is just going to keep trying to run away every time he drops an “I love you,” or “you’re my favorite.”
I also really, really love himiten. It’s a ship that gets a lot more flack than it deserves, in my opinion, and it’s sad to see that it’s a little underappreciated these days. There are flaws and problems within the ship, of course, but these are things that are actually addressed within the game itself. Himiko’s apathy and disregard towards Tenko’s feelings is called out pretty bluntly in the later parts of chapter 3, and she winds up mourning Tenko’s death and taking her last advice to heart more than anyone else.
Meanwhile, while Tenko certainly meant well and always had Himiko’s best interests at heart, it’s true that she came across as somewhat condescending sometimes (albeit unintentionally) by treating Himiko like a cute animal instead of a person. I think that she understood Himiko’s feelings a lot better by chapter 3, which is why she prioritized trying to let Himiko talk to Angie one more time despite her own misgivings about Angie. Tenko grew a lot more as a character than a lot of people give her credit for, and I would have loved to see any post-game scenario where Himiko and Tenko could’ve finally started a relationship on equal footing outside of the game.
I actually have two entire ships for Miu that I am equally fond of. Both kiiruma and irumatsu are really great in my opinion, in totally different ways. The sheer chaotic potential of kiiruma gets overlooked a lot of times, I think, but both of them are complete disasters. They have so much fun together and it really shows, both in canon and in the talent development plan as well. Kiibo is so wonderful and I love him so much, because you’d think he’d be the voice of reason as a “cold, logical robot”—but honestly, he’s just as messed-up and over the top as Miu. I mean, he did photograph her poop on what turned out to be a live audience national broadcast and he didn’t see anything wrong with this.
Kiibo is one of the few characters who vocally talks about missing Miu after her death in chapter 4, and he repeatedly tells her how much he appreciates her maintenance work on him both in canon and in one of their talent development scenes. In one such scene, he even mentions wanting to continue their ongoing relationship after they graduate, which I think is surprisingly sweet and adorable for the two of them. Honestly, Miu is about as wild as a DR character ever gets, and I love the idea of her and Kiibo just having fun with each other.
Meanwhile, Kaede and Miu’s dynamic is a lot more back-and-forth. Kaede spends a good part of her FTEs absolutely frustrated and fed up with Miu, but also decidedly worried for her well-being and wondering how she might get her to be more of a team player. She’s not afraid to put her foot down when Miu crosses the line, but she’s also one of the few people who’s ever been willing to stand by Miu and encourage her or actually be her friend in spite of how awful Miu is at interacting with others.
Even in the talent development plan, Kaede’s often seen together with Miu a lot, which I think is super cute and confirms that even at Hope’s Peak, she’d still be trying to make sure Miu had a friend around. And she was able to tell that, despite what a disaster Miu’s idea with the Christmas lights was, it was Miu’s own way of trying to add to the festivities and do something nice for other people. All in all, it’s one of my favorite wlw DR ships, and I really love when fanworks capture just how shy or flustered Miu got around Kaede sometimes.
Of course, I like momoharu a lot as well! It’s one of the ships that has grown on me quite a bit in my absence, mostly just because despite all of Momota’s flaws, he really does want Maki to love herself first and foremost. Maki’s own feelings for Momota are so important to her character growth and really represent her feeling as though she’s finally made a choice for the first time in her life, and it’s really heartwarming to see. Also, any ship where the girl could lift a guy up with one arm without breaking a sweat is a pretty good ship in my opinion.
As for other ndrv3 ships that I enjoy a lot, there’s saihoshi (Hoshi is extremely underrated as a character, and I adore how sweet his FTEs and salmon mode with Saihara were; it’s also another ship where I feel Saihara would have to really take the initiative to make Hoshi fully open up, which I like), amamatsu (Kaede and Amami had a lot of really funny, great interaction in chapter 1 and some fun banter in their FTEs, so I would’ve loved to see more of it), and harumatsu/kaemaki (again, they have a lot of potential and it would have been extremely interesting to see them interact more).
I also like saiibo, not so much in the way that most people ship it (their love hotel is cute, don’t get me wrong!), but mostly because Kiibo’s FTEs are the funniest set of FTEs in the whole game in my opinion, and the twist where they were both looking down on each other without the other one knowing just made my jaw drop before I started laughing my ass off. They’re almost as much of a disaster together as Kiibo and Miu are, and I think the humor in their dynamic sometimes gets overlooked.
There are even more ships that I like, and I could keep going on and on, but I should probably leave things off here. Character interactions are so much fun in DR, both because of the genuine growth and character development from a lot of the cast, but also because so many of them are so whacky and borderline cartoonish that it’s just really fun imagining further interactions between them. Thank you for the fun ask, anon!
#ask#anonymous#opinions#okay to reblog#there are probably other ships that i completely blanked out on and forgot to include#but i think this at least includes most of the ships i like!

FE SS X DRV3 General plot
Once again, I’m back on my bulls**t. Got the basics for the AU sorted now so let’s take a look, as well as what most of the characters are doing
Plot Outline:
As I mentioned in the first post https://allykakamatsu.tumblr.com/post/649470604067717120/fe-ss-x-drv3 the reason the class is in Magvel in the first place is because Monokuma decided that trapping them in the game was gonna be the motive, where you either have to end the war/beat the game or kill someone from the real world in order to get out. The characters got sent to various points in the timeline, and as you can imagine, this changed quite a lot.
Shuichi Saihara:
•The last one to wake up, aka got sent to when the game starts rather than some time before like the others.
•Ends up unintentionally becoming Eirika’s bodyguard as they run into each other while the Princess is trying to get to Frelia and Seth has gone missing dun dun dun
•Sticks around as Eirika knows where Kaede is and because he doesn’t want to leave her on her own.
•Can use magic, but still needs to work on his aim. Aka, never let him fight an enemy that’s near a tree.
•Still better than when he uses a Lance, he just stabs wildly and hope it works
•Because he doesn’t get the pre-war time everyone else had to get ready, he does get the advantage of remembering other things, though they’re things he’d rather not remember.
Kaede Akamatsu:
•Was sent to Renais and ended up getting adopted by the royals, so she’s the Twin’s step-sister.
•Despite her accidental new status, doesn’t change too much, and enjoys her time with her new family even if she’s always scarred about when the war will start
•As such, she’s also very overprotective and always goes with Ephriam to his dumb stunts, under the guise of being all for it.
•Very over dramatic organ player.
•Like Eirika she’s good with swords, but tends to specialise in staffs.
•Is part of Ephriams four (well now five) man army trying to take Grado down.
Maki Harukawa:
•Woke up in Jehana but didn’t stick around for long due to not liking the heat.
•Ended up travelling with Tenko for a while as travelling mercenaries, but when Maki’s work started leaning on the assassin side again she left so the Aikido Master wouldn’t get involved.
•After that becomes an assassin for hire, and she works for people all over the continent, including with Rausten which (unfortunately) led to her seeing Kokichi again
•”If it wasn’t for the fact your Princess hired me I’d kill you”
•Eventually after several jobs making her infamous, she was hired by Kirumi to help protect Eirika.
•Agreed, and was extra motivated due to Shuichi being dragged into this.
Himiko Yumeno:
•One of only two who was over the moon to be sent to Magvel, because now she has real MAGIC
•Winds up in Lute and Arthur’s village, where she joins their friend group to become master Mages.
•Constantly getting on Lute’s nerves for napping during practice.
•More energetic than usual, but that just means when she’s out she’s out for the count.
•Specialises in thunder magic, but that’s mostly not to steal Lute’s thunder, well, fire in this case.
•Goes with Arthur to get help when the village is attacked by monsters to “make sure they don’t claw him to death”
Angie Yonaga:
•Ends up becoming a priestess in Grado.
•Doesn’t really like spreading the word of non-Atua figures, but sticks around because Atua said so.
•Also leads to her becoming friends with Natasha and also ‘friends’ with Cormag
•Was already growing weary of the Empire when she heard about the war, but when Natasha was branded a traitor she knew something was up and went after her.
•Still always smiling, which depending on the person is a relief to see someone keeping their hopes up, or disturbing cause “does she ever not smile?”
•Mostly a light magic user, but can heal and not afraid to staff bonk.
Kirumi Tojo:
•Was sent to Frelia and became a servant at the castle very fast.
•Joined the staff only a few days before ‘The Frelian Tragedy’ where the crown Prince was kidnapped and presumed dead.
•Because of this and the King being so busy, Kirumi ended up being the one to console the young Princess Tana.
•Ended up becoming a mother/big sister figure and was offered a change of position as the nanny. Ended up taking it and staying on maid duty, and eventually rose to head maid.
•More open with her emotions, but still quite reserved.
•Can use all weapons well, but prefers spears and staffs.
Kokichi Oma:
•Not known where or when he first arrived, but after 3 years ended up in Rausten.
•Wound up as part of L’Arachel’s entourage due to his battle skills and her liking his attitude.
•Dream tam for each other, nightmare for everyone else.
•Was rumoured to be part of the Frelian Tragedy, but no one can prove it or knows how.
•With L’Arachel for most of the war, but ran off for a bit to drag Renac back
•A full blown trickster class, so swords and staffs for him.
Kiibo:
•Since Robots don’t exist, he’s a dragon now.
•Excited that he’s living and breathing, but scarred because “How did I change species?!”
•Eventually finds Myrrh and she thankfully sets things straight.
•Proud of his new species, but does miss his old life.
•When Selena steals her dragon stone, he tries to get it back, only to get caught in some trees while in dragon form.
•After that accompanies her on Ephriam and Kaede’s path to get the stone back.
Rantaro Amami:
•A former wyvern rider turned pegasus knight
•Yes, somehow he got a pegasus to trust him enough to let him ride, to the confusion of everyone else.
•Was with Grado for a while, but jumped ship to Jehana about three years before the war.
•When he learned that the Queen’s son had run away, his big brother instincts kicked in and he volunteered to find him.
•His search eventually led to Carcino where he found Joshua alone with the rest of Eirika’s party.
•Agreed to tag along so he could keep an eye on the gambling Prince and so he could help out Shuichi.
•Good with lances, but way better with flying.
Miu Iruma:
•A wyvern rider from Grado, though an unconventional one (I mean, it’s Miu)
•She and Rantaro were part of the same squad, but she stayed unlike him.
•Good at making all her allies lives a living hell with her antics (RIP Cormag) but she’s kept around due to her skill
•Saw Valter kill Glenn, but while trying to tell Cormag, got sidetracked by seeing Selena try to take Kiibo’s dragonstone, which made her go “F**k it”, swear the Flurspar out, and switched sides to team Ephriam.
•The only wyvern who uses an axe. Everyone calls her crazy for it but hey, whatever works.
Tenko Chabishira:
•Was in Renais at first, but after being ditched by Maki she went to Jehana due to her unsurprisingly wanting to be in the nation lead by a queen rather than a king like the rest.
•Ends up bumping into Marisa on a job, and once it’s over she convinces Tenko to join the Mercenaries.
•Loves Tethys and Marisa, so she stays no matter what, but she does eventually get some respect for Gherik.
•Doesn’t stop her from thinking somethings up with Kiyo and the new recruit who won’t take his mask off.
•Would’ve joined up with team Eirika either way since everyone else agreed, Himiko being there just made her a lot more aggressive with it.
•Axes all the way baby!
Korekiyo Shinguji:
•Wound up in Caer Pelyn, which royally confused everyone, but they kinda just rolled with it.
•Stayed due to his interest in the village, but when he was about to leave Ewan stopped by, and after a misunderstanding about why he wanted to leave Kiyo gets dragged into the mercenaries.
•At first only stayed due to wanting to send his sister more ‘friends’, but after seeing Tethys and Ewan act like how siblings are supposed to act, he realised how badly he screwed up, so he ends up sticking around to find out what real siblings are meant to do.
•Gladly joins up with team Eirika once they show up not only to stay with his allies, but also to get some more ‘sibling role models’
•Good with dark magic and staffs, but is in the summoner class..... be very afraid.
Kaito Momota:
•Woke up in Carcino, but after realising the guys in charge were assholes, he left and started travelling all over as a mercenary.
•After seeing Ephriam and Kaede storm a castle with 5 people total and win, he got the bright idea to become a masked hero busting innocents Grado captured out of jail and just generally be a thorn in their side.
•Formed a bit of a partnership with Kokichi because of this cause hey, where else in Magvel are you going to get smoke bombs.
•Eventually met Lyon, and after they explained what was going on to him, Kaito decided to risk it all on them as he let himself get caught to help bust Knoll out of jail, which worked, albeit with a lot of extra help from team Ephriam.
•All and all, more or less the same, just in WAY over his head.
•Of course he’s in the Hero class, so that means swords and axes.
Tsumugi Shirogane:
•The only one who’s played the game before, and easily the most excited, especially as she ended up in Grado and to be more specific as Lyon’s adopted sister.
•Thought she could get everything she wanted due to this being a game, but ended up having a bit of an existential crisis when the world turns out to be harder to manipulate and more real then she thought.
•Not wanting to accept that fiction can be real to, decided to take the demon kings power that wasn’t in Lyon (this was before the stone was shattered so that means most of it) to try get control back.
•This, of course, backfires, as while her already wanting to cause chaos/drama meant she kept her sense of self for longer, her lie eventually crashed in as once Shuichi got her to accept that fiction can be real she got completely possessed.
•Has the same class as Lyon, though she’s less tanky in exchange for being faster, worth it when you’re dealing with dark tomes.
Well, that’s everything for now. Hope you enjoy!

i’d love to hear about your talent swap maki (if you want to)
So glad you asked! This will probably be a long post so be prepared.
Okay so, Maki is easily my favorite character in v3 and probably in the whole series, so it only made sense she was my first swap. Maki in this au is the ultimate artist and she got into art during her time at the orphanage. Due to the stress of having to take care of the kids all the time, her friend, Hana, (yes she has a name in this au because she's way more important in this au) suggested it to help relieve her stress. Maki was skeptical at first but when she tried it she realized that it was surprisingly comforting and fun, so she continued it and found a real passion for it.
Unfortunately for her, she still has the assassins to worry about, and they had their eyes on her in this au. Originally she would have accepted the role if it meant protecting the other kids but now she wasn't so sure. She wanted to pursue her art as a career and show it to the world. But, she reluctantly accepted the fact that her art would only be posted onto the orphanage's walls. Or at least that's what she thought. See, unbeknownst to her, Hana wasn't planning on letting that happen and she would do everything in her power to prevent Maki from leaving. So, when Maki packed her things and prepared to leave with the other assassins, Hana pushed her out of the way. She then proceeded to tell the assassins that Maki was unfit to be an assassin, that Maki was too emotional and that she would make a far better candidate. The irony of course being that Hana was mostly talking about herself.
Maki fought with her and tried to convince the assassins otherwise but eventually the assassins decided on Hana and took her away. Maki was never the same after she left, always anxious and on edge. But still, she had hope that Hana would come back to her, so she waited. And waited. And waited. Until finally, after many years, Hana's training was finished. Maki eagerly stood by the door, waiting for them to open and bring Hana with them. And after an eternity, they finally did. Immediately Maki was met by the same two assassins that had taken Hana away all those years ago. And with them was a familiar face, just not the one Maki was expecting. Angie Yonaga.
See, in this au, Angie is the ultimate child caregiver as well as the ultimate assassin. She also is in the charge of the whole cult aspect of the assassin organization and sort of acts like a figurehead, but one that still works for the organization. To Maki's dismay though, no one else enters the door. She asks Angie where Hana is and Angie tells her the bad news. Hana is dead. She had died on a mission. Maki is immediately in disbelief, telling Angie that she has to be wrong. But Angie reaffirms to Maki that Hana is long gone. Then Maki goes into a rage, asking Angie why she didn't do anything. Angie says that it was out of her control and that there was nothing she could have done. But Maki refuses to believe this and this is where her hatred of Angie begins.
Deep down Maki knows that Angie isn't really responsible for this, but she blames her because she doesn't want to consider the reality of the situation. The reality of what happens to assassins when they don't return from a mission. The fact that Hana killed herself. Maki can't accept this truth and so she redirects her grief-striken anger towards Angie and believes that killing her will give her closure. But as all revenge stories go, it won't, and Maki knows that it won't but if getting rid of Angie and her organization can help ease her mind then she will do what is necessary. After the news of Hana's passing, Maki gets planning. She plans to eventually take down the assassin organization and take Angie down with it.
But she knows that she will face sure death if she faces Angie at her current state, she needs to train to prepare for their battle. So she packs her things and leaves the orphanage at night without a word. She takes to the streets and sells her art to get by, all while training at night for the day she fights Angie. Word of a talented artist begins to spread until the Ultimate Initiative hears of Maki and decides to deem her the ultimate artist. And one night after a bout of training, Maki is kidnapped in the night and brought to the Ultimate Academy and our main plot starts here.
And it's great because Maki was already pissed that she got taken to this school against her will but when she finds out that Angie is there too she is.....not pleased to say the least. But once the killing game is introduced to them, Maki gains hope again for her plan. In the first chapter she initially plans on going through with the First Blood Perk, but cannot get to Angie as she is constantly surrounded by others. After the first case though, Maki starts to spread rumors to the others about Angie being the ultimate assassin, since she's the only one that knows. Most everyone is skeptical except Kiibo (ultimate supreme leader) who is naturally suspicious of everyone and Miu (ultimate survivor) because she's always gotten "bad vibes" from Angie. But when the motive videos are introduced she is one of the big advocaters of exchanging the motive videos and is also very particular about finding out who owns Angie's. This leads to her attempting the motive screening party with everyone, working with Kiibo and Miu. Her approach is far more diplomatic than Kokichi's in the main game, simply using the power of manipulation, with help from Kiibo, to try and convince everyone to come. Haven't completely worked out everything that happens with that, but it gets stopped before they can show anything and the second case plays out. It is after the case where Maki gets a hold of Angie's video and asks Monokuma to show it to, "make things more interesting." Monokuma agrees and Angie's motive video is shown and now everyone knows that Angie is the ultimate assassin.
This leads into the third chapter with a huge divide between the group. Now Maki, Kiibo, Miu, as well as three other students have formed a sort of Anti-Angie squad. They believe that Angie is a threat and should be dealt with and prevented from participating in the killing game. The other six are the Angie Support squad who while they recognize that Angie is an assassin, they also believe that she is a student just like the rest of them and she should not be ostracized as a monster. And it's with the support of the Anti-Angie squad that Maki plans to finally go for the kill. Her plan is to use the necronomicon to revive one of the past killers and to use them as a puppet to kill Angie. Now Maki still doesn't believe in the occult, but she's so blinded by her hatred and revenge that she will utilize any measure possible if it means killing Angie.
So she works together with Shuichi, (ultimate anthropologist) and the revived person to kill Angie. This however backfires when the revived person doesn't act as planned and can't go through with killing Angie and tries to convince Maki to change her mind. She gets angry and kills the revived individual, reducing them back to ash. And right as she's about to kill Angie, she sees that she is speaking with Gonta (ultimate tennis pro/ultimate prisoner). And so, using the katana that Shuichi lended her, she sends it hurtling through Gonta's chest.
With surprising force, the sword goes in through his back and out his chest and when she pulls the sword back she leaves him to bleed out. Her eyes lock on to the horrified Angie and she makes a move towards her, until she feels something stop her. A hand digs into her shoulder and prevents her from moving. It's Shuichi. Snapping out of her frozen state, Angie takes the opportunity and makes a run for it. Maki tries to follow her but Shuichi holds her arms back. She demands him to let her go but he refuses, telling Maki that she needs to stop. Maki questions his intentions, seeing as how he was fine with the plan before. Shuichi explains that he was okay with it before innocent lives were slaughtered and he argues that if Maki is willing to go that far to see Angie die then maybe this plan isn't worth it. Seething with anger she glares daggers at Shuichi, but after some time she relaxes and pulls Shuichi into a hug.
Surprised by the gesture, he lets go of her and hugs her back giving her the perfect opportunity to impale him with his own katana. As he's coughing up blood and clutching his chest, she thinks to go after Angie, but then she observes the scene before her. At the pile of ash and the two bodies dying on the ground. An idea then forms in her mind. Why kill her myself when I can simply pin these murders on her?
And so the rest of the case plays out, her leaving Gonta's body where it laid and hiding Shuichi's in Angie's research room. She convinces the Anti-Angie squad that Angie killed Gonta and Shuichi and the trial proceeds with half of the class vehemently arguing that Angie is the killer. However with the precise detective work from Kiyo, he's able to deduce that Maki is the killer and that is where her story ends.
Well, not entirely, since Kiyo can see and hear ghosts in this au she still terrorizes and threatens him at every turn but chapter three is where her main story concludes.
I am so sorry for the length, I tend to get way too in depth with things and the addition of it being Maki doesn't help but I hope you enjoyed the read. Her plot line has been a lot of fun to come up with, its almost like a Maki villain arc in a way, like if she had went down a darker path. I've still got a few tweaks I need to make but overall I'm really proud with how her arc has come along and I appreciate being able to infodump about it, so thanks!

Kaito doesn’t have any character development nor seems to care about others in general. Why doesn’t he include Kiibo since Kokichi bullies him? Or try to pursue on helping Miu who clearly needs help? Or even invite Himiko after loosing Angie and Tenko?
I already said I wasn't going to make any more character discussions because I grew sick of them but since it's about Kaito I'm making an exception.
Before that, let me ask you.
Have you ever tried to be the personal therapist of 15 people? Do you really expect one person with their own issues to go and save everyone?
Dealing with your own issues is already tiring in itself. But dealing with two other people's issues while not taking care of yours is even more tiring.
Of course he could have asked Himiko if she was taking it well. Of course he could have tried to give advice to Keebo about how to deal with Kokichi. Of course he could have went to Miu who was clearly not okay. But he was already dealing with both Shuichi and Maki.
To say he didn't do enough adds up to the already impossible expectations he puts on himself-- to help others without showing any kind of weakness and be the hero everyone can rely on.
Kaito has a very late character development that starts in the fourth trial when Kokichi does his entire thing.
He lashes out at Shuichi for not believing in Gonta but deep down he knows Shuichi was right.
During the beginning of chapter 5 he refuses to face Shuichi because he refuses to face his own mistakes. He is slowly realizing that he was wrong.
The time he was kidnapped, he slowly realized Shuichi was never wrong and he was just jealous of him, because he had surpassed him in terms of strength.
It's a character development that was made offscreen.
At the end of the fifth trial, he apologizes to Shuichi for everything he did.
We could have seen the full length of his development if he survived, but he was already out of time because of both his illness and the execution waiting for him.
He did care about the others, and that's by pushing his own insecurities and problems aside that he was led to his downfall. From a psychological point of view or just the fact that he took an arrow for Kokichi in the exisal hangar, making sure Maki wouldn't be the blackened.
If you say he didn't care about others when his stupid selflessness is what led him to his death, I don't know what to tell you.

So, in that post with the art of Rantaro and Kaito, I talked about an au in the tags but didn't go into much detail. This post is just, all about the detail. Keep in mind, had it been just me planning out this AU, it wouldn't be nearly as angsty. I worked on it with @miswritten-chronology
It started off with me just... Talking about the different fusions and their appearances, and how fusing works, so let's start like that here too!
In this AU, the fusing is kind of similar to Steven Universe. A fusion can be unstable, corrupted, or stable. A large difference is, these aren't Gems, they're still humans. In this AU, fusing is a normal thing that everyone can do. Also, you can fuse with a corrupted person without getting corrupted yourself.
Shuichi fuses with all but 2 of his classmates: Tsumugi and Maki. The reason is, when you fuse, you share memories. He accidentally fused with so many people, but he's so likeable that none of the fusions fall apart or get corrupted.
Two of them are already corrupted actually. Miu and Korekiyo. They both have small dots all over their bodies, and not a soul realizes this about Kiyo until he accidentally fuses with Shuichi and they see the (smaller amount of) skin dot things. Miu also fuses with Shuichi, and Kaede at one point, so I'mma talk about their appearances for a second.
The Shuichi and Miu fusion is really pretty, wearing a balance between Shuichi's very covering clothes and Miu's explosion to make a crop top and shorts (not booty shorts). Their hair is around mid-back and I haven't decided on a color yet. They do have Miu's eye color though.
The Kiyo fusion has really nice hair and a lot of accessories. That's all that I wrote down about it. The hair is a more saturated blue than either of their individual hair. That's all I can really say about it.
The Kaede fusion was also accidental but Kaede just shrugged and let it happen and Shuichi always panics too much to really do anything when accidentally fusing. Their wearing a medium purple striped skirt with the long sleeved white button up shirt they both wear. The hair is shoulder length and a desaturated blond.
Kaede still kills someone in chapter 1, so their fusion is Kaito's way of trying to cheer him up. It has Kaito length hair, but down with a galaxy-like gradient. They have a white shirt with red lines, a long blue jacket with a galaxy under side. The pants are a dark purple with Shuichi's shoes. They're also tall as all hell, being around 7-8 feet tall.
The next one I talked about before we got into the story element is Kiibo's fuse. Kiibs wanted to prove that he can do it too, and chose Shuichi because everyone trusts Shuichi. It was mainly a robot Shuichi but with some Kiibo attributes, like eyes and antenna. When he heard the inner voice, Shuichi startled so fiercely that he broke the fusion.
Their talents are also fused, depending on who's more... There's no other way to say it. I'm not gonna tho. Let's take the Miu and Shuichi fusion. The fusion takes after Miu more, along with her talent, making them a puzzle designer. You can figure out why without me having to type it again.
Of course then we got derailed by talking about a fuse that would never happen. Kokichi doesn't like memory sharing, and fights fusions like there's no tomorrow, making them very unstable and fall apart near instantly. The only person he fuses with is Shuichi, accidentally. They just sorta... sit on the ground, blue screening as they process all of the information. The whole class is gathered around, asking if their ok but they keep staring off into space. Because of the memory sharing, Kokichi doesn't do anything too stupid, and Shuichi is the only one who understands him. I'll talk about their appearance in a second.
We had been talking about a fusion between Himiko and Kokichi (Talent: Illusionist) because... Short. Kokichi is 5'1, Himiko 4'11, fused they would actually shrink, being around Ryoma's height. If Ryoma joined the fusion, they would be even smaller, around 2 feet. The size of a baby. Ryoma and Himiko do fuse at one point tho, being around 4'3. They have a witch hat with cat ears, a red shirt with a black and blue striped jacket, leggings with shorts over them, and Ryoma's shoes.
Back to Kokichi, his fusion with Shuichi is very feminine. They have Kokichi's hair length, but straight like Shuichi's so it looks longer. Long as hell eyelashes too, from Shuichi. They have a long sleeved grey shirt and a skirt on (neither mind it, but it's kinda confusing). The skirt is about knee length and very poofy. Also I'm pretty sure I saw that Kokichi has a belt so I'm using that. And chubby cheeks but shhhh.
Now, to the story!
The first one to kill is still "Kaede", but Rantaro had accidentally fused with Kirumi, shared memories, and he trusted her. He asked if she could check it out, and she died. That gives both of them enormous guilt but Rantaro has a small, sickening relief that it wasn't him that he ignores. Chapter one, Kirumi, Kaede, and Monokid die.
Chapter 2, we didn't talk this one out much, but Ryoma accidentally killed Angie. Everyone still thinks well of Angie when she dies, because she never got a chance to form the student council. Chapter two, Angie, Ryoma, and Monosuke die.
Next, our trio. The murderer is still Kiyo, and he kills in the same way. Chapter three, Tenko, Himiko, Korekiyo, and Monophanie die.
In the next chapter, Miu wouldn't go after Kokichi as he's close to Shuichi. She goes after and kills Gonta. Chapter four, Gonta, Miu, and Monotaro die.
Chapter 5 is the heaviest chapter because she went fuking HAM on the angst. We both agreed that Kokichi wouldn't do his mastermind plan so we had to figure out a whole new chapter 5 to pave the way for chapter 6. We decided that Rantaro and Kaito are a Chaos Duo and would absolutely blow shit up. Kaito hadn't fused since chapter 3 due to his illness, and Rantaro barely fuses, keep that in mind. They've been working together since a bit before the 4th trial, making things with the help of Monodam, who really doesn't give a shit anymore.
They get into the other Exisals, and blow up the inner wall of the dome, and a bit of the outer. There's defense mechanisms, obviously, but they're in the Exisals so they're fine. They stop outside one of the buildings with a satellite. They figure out that everything is being broadcasted and hijack Kiibo's inner voice to tell him
Basically, they give Kiibs a heart attack because they just heard a bunch of explosions and gun shots and now suddenly his missing friends are talking to him through his head. He relays the information, but at some point they start coughing.
At that point, Monokuma had locked them in and filled the building with poison. The two fuse, a small smile on their face as they cut off Kiibo's voice, lose oxygen, and die. The other explosives they had rigged start going off around the school dome as Kiibo, now free and traumatized, starts upgrading himself.
The first Danganronpa chapter to end without a trial. Feels kinda weird am I right?
The 6th trial goes as expected. They already know that it's being broadcast to the outside so Tsumugi can't shock them with that, and the outside can't take over Kiibo, as he's been permanently disconnected. Kiibs doesn't have to self-destruct as the dome is already in pieces with the combined effort of Kaito, Rantaro, and him, so he just blows up the school and lands. Tsumugi dies, but Maki, Shuichi, Kokichi, and Kiibo survive.
Tada

Talentswap Au Pologue: Part 3
This isn’t getting much attention, but I’m still working on it! I really hope more people see this soon, I’m working hard on it and it’s a real passion of mine. Also sorry for any spelling/grammar mistakes, I didn’t read this over before posting this, I wanted to get it out quickly.
Kaede looks at the list in her hands, and goes through it quickly, not dwelling too long on anyone in particular. Each person got pointed to as she went through the list, allowing Kaito a few seconds to try and memorize and match names to appearances.
Kirumi Tojo, Ultimate Martial Artist- Light green long hair tied up with a ribbon, wearing a short button up and tie with a few colored bandaids on her arms.
Himiko Yumeno, Ultimate Pop Sensation- Short bob of red hair, wearing a frilly light red and pink dress with several bracelets on her arms and pins in her hair. The one currently putting the colored band-aids on Kirumi’s arms.
Angie Yonaga, Ultimate Clairvoyant - White hair cut straight and short, wearing a purple cloak, several piercings, scattered tattoos on her exposed skin of her arms, legs, and stomach. Currently talking to Rantaro.
Rantaro Amami, Ultimate Gambler- Short green hair, wearing a vest and bowtie, sleeve of tattoos. Currently listening to Angie ramble.
Gonta Gokuhara, Ultimate Moral Compass- Long green hair in a loose ponytail, very muscular, wearing a school uniform. Trying to get Ryoma to stop smoking
Ryoma Hoshi, Ultimate Biker Gang Leader- Very short, wearing a beanie and leather jacket, carries a pack of cigarettes. Currently smoking and being worried over by Gonta.
Tsumugi Shirogane, Ultimate Swimming Pro- Long blue hair in a high ponytail, wearing a baggy jacket and athletic shorts. Currently talking to Tenko.
Tenko Chabashira, Ultimate Softball Player- Dark green hair in a braid, wearing a star covered ballcap and a jean jacket with pins on it over a t-shirt and pants with holes in them. Currently talking to Tsumugi.
Kiibo Iidabashi, Ultimate Programmer- White hair, wearing a green and grey hoodie and headphones. Currently standing away from the others with his headphones on.
Korekiyo Shinguji, Ultimate Writing Prodigy- Long straight blue hair, round glasses, a small black mask over his mouth, wearing a sweater and jeans. Currently standing next to Kiibo, also away from the main group.
After going through the names, Kaede looks at him with a small smile.
“Got it alright?” She asks, still holding the list. Despite not fully memorizing the people, names, and talents in such a small window of time, he nods.
“Yup.” He’s lying, but she doesn’t seem to catch on, simply folding the paper and putting it back into her pocket.
Kaito lets his eyes wander, gazing over the grouped up people. For the situation they were all in, they seemed surprisingly put together. At least no one was freaking out, so that’s a good sign. They were all ultimates though, so that is to be expected.
He cleared his throat, turning to Kaede.
“So, what now? None of us know how we got here, the windows are closed off, I’m assuming there’s no exit. And there’s no teachers, from what I’ve seen.” He questioned, almost into thin air as Kaede had no answers for him.
Thankfully, there was someone who could answer his question for him. As soon as he asked the question, an annoyingly high pitched voice called out.
“Ahem! Ahem! Mic check, one two! This is a test of the school broadcast system!
It rang out throughout the room, followed by a loud chime.
Ding dong, bing bong
Everyone turned their heads to the noise, and saw a monitor at the front of the room spark to life. Through static, a small, bear shaped silhouette could be seen.
“Am I on? Can everyone hear me? Okay, well then, to all incoming students, I would like to begin the entrance ceremony! We’ll be starting at about… right now! Please make your way to the gym at your earliest convenience. That’s all! I’ll be waiting~”
After the sing-songy voice cut off, everyone stood silent for a few moments.
What the hell?
“What the hell?!” Someone shouted out, speaking what everyone was thinking. Kaito turned to the voice, seeing Miu still staring at the monitor, her face one of confused shock. At her comment, everyone else looked around nervously, unsure what to do,
“Hey now, let’s just stay calm. This is probably just to get us excited for the entrance ceremony, that’s all.” The green haired guy in the vest and bowtie stepped forward, a calm smile on his face. Rantaro, Kaito reminded himself.
“A-Are you sure? This all seems too strange to be normal for a school, but I don’t know.” The kid with the headphones replied nervously, his headphones now dangling at the sides of his neck.
“I’m sure we’ll be okay Kiibo, I mean, we’re all okay now, right?” Himiko smiles at the taller student, who looked away, avoiding eye contact, and instead stared at the ground.
“Yeah, alright.” Kiibo nods, and Himiko grabs his hand in a comforting gesture.
As soon as she does that, there’s a scoff from the front of the entrance hall. Facing the noise, Kaito notices it’s the purple haired kid from earlier, looking at the scene with a small sneer.
Without saying a word, he turns around and walks out of the room, heading down the hall and towards the gymnasium, leaving everyone else behind.
Tenko and Tsumugi exchanged looks.
“What’s his deal?” The girl haired girl commented, snarky and obviously not a fan of his attitude.
“I’m not sure, but he does seem to have the right idea. If the entrance ceremony is starting, wouldn’t it be a good idea to head to the gym?” Tsumugi adds, talking to no one in particular. The others look around, before unanimously deciding that heading to the gym would be the best idea at the moment.
The group of 15 split into smaller groups as they walked down the halls, similar to the groups in the entrance hall. Maki and Shuichi, Tsumugi and Korekiyo, Gonta and Kirumi, Angie, Ryoma, and Rantaro, Tenko, Himiko, and Kiibo, and Kaito, Miu, and Kaede. Together they headed to the gym, the purple haired kid already there waiting for them.
Next to Kaito, he heard Kaede speak up to both him and Miu.
“Don’t you think it’s odd we didn’t see any other students on our way here?”
Now that he thought about it, yeah that did seem pretty weird. Judging by the look on Miu’s face, she thought so too.
“Hey, you’re right. Where the hell is everyone?” Miu shouts out, a little louder than necessary.
The response she got was similar to Kaito’s in the Entrance Hall, replied to by the same high pitched voice.
“Hey there, howdy, hello! Is everyone here?”
Without waiting for anyone to answer, they continued.
“Good! Then, let’s get things rolling!”
As soon as those words were spoken, a small, animatronic teddy bear popped out from behind the podium on the stage, its body split into a half of black and a half of white. No one dared to move or speak for a few seconds, trying to take it in.
“Is that… a stuffed bear?” Korekiyo asked out loud, voice quiet and full of disbelief.
“I am not a stuffed bear!” The bear cried out, angry at that notion.
“I am Monokuma! This school’s headmaster.”
Just when I thought this day couldn’t get any weirder.
The bear stepped down from the podium and walked closer to the students, and the knot of anxiety that’d slowly been accumulating in Kaito’s stomach turned to outright dread as he realized how absolutely screwed they were. This was definitely not a normal school, much too weird for Hope’s Peak, and certainly not a school that made the tiniest bit of sense.
“Nice to meet you all!”
After Monokuma finished his introduction, everyone stood still and quiet, just staring at the bear.
“Um, is anyone else seeing and hearing the same thing? I’m not hallucinating this?” Tsumugi asked, looking at the other for confirmation.
“I am not a stuffed bear!! How many times do I have to tell you!” He yelled out angrily, jumping out at her and causing her to flinch back.
“Eeeeek! Get away from me!!” She yelled, putting her hands in front of her face. Quickly, Tenko, who’d been standing next to Tsumugi, jumped in front of her, hands out wide.
“Back up little dude.” The green-haired girl hissed out, glaring at the bear.
“Stop it, both of you!! It’s not like it can do anything to you, even if it can… walk and talk, for some reason.” Kaede tried to reason, not wanting people to get worked up for no reason.
“No no, little miss jumpy over here has the right idea. I could kill you if I wanted!” The bear chuckled, causing a few people to exchange looks.
“Well, anyway, do you happen to know why we’re here, mister...Monokuma?” Gonta speaks up, ignoring the potential death threat in favor of getting some answers.
“Ah, yes! Of course, that is why I brought you all here!” Monokuma exclaims, and a few students relaxed a bit at the notion that their questions would soon be addressed.
Kaito wasn’t one of those. He wasn’t sure why, but he just felt…off. Something wasn't right here, but he couldn’t quite put his finger on it.
Monokuma cleared his throat(?).
“Now, continuing with the entrance ceremony! First, we should address what your school life will be like here! Yes, this should be the first thing to talk about since you’ll be living the rest of your lives out here.”
He said it so calmly, yet Kaito felt his heart stop. Looking around at everyone else, they seem to have heard it too, all wearing similar expressions
“Yes yes, you students are the hope of this world! You will all spend the rest of your life designated only to the grounds of this school, protected from the outside world!”
“H-Huh? That’s not… you’re not serious are you?” Kaito spoke, now hoping that this was all an extremely elaborate prank like he’d thought in the beginning.
“I am one hundred percent serious, my little luckster! But do not worry, we have quite the budget, so your life here will be quite comfortable! You will be more than accommodated for here at the academy.”
“Wait, so we’re stuck here? With no way out?!” Tenko shouts, her eyes wide with fear.
“Yup! You’re all completely cut off from the outside world! You can call for help all you want, but you’re stuck within these walls for the rest of your life!”
The room was silent, everyone quietly panicking at the news that they’re stuck in here forever. What about their f”milies? Their friends on the outside? Their lives on the outside?
“Aww, why do you all look so glum! You all came here of your own free will, didn’t you?”
Well, he isn’t entirely wrong.
“I guess you’ll all be happy to hear, there is something I forgot to mention. There is one way out, and only one.”
Everyone perked their heads up at that, some skeptic, others willing to listen.
“I’ve created a special rule, allowing those who wish to leave the ability to do so! With some conditions of course.”
“Spit it out already, we’re tired of waiting.” Ryoma grumbled, looking heavily annoyed at all this stalling and back and forths.
“Hold your horses, I’m getting to that!” The bear shouted, angry.
“Now then, what I was trying to say is that this school has what is called a Graduation Clause. The lifestyle you all will have here is one of order, but should someone interrupt said order, they and they alone would be allowed to leave.”
Kaito quirked an eyebrow.
“Interrupt the order? What does that mean?”
“Ah, curious one, aren’t you. What I mean by that is, in order to leave, someone needs to commit a crime most unspeakable, one that would truly disrupt the natural order. Murder, to be more specific.”
At that, everyone’s face paled a good few shades.
“Asphyxiation, blood loss, snapping of the neck, cutting off all blood flow to the brain, get creative! It doesn’t matter the process, all that matters is someone’s heart stops beating! That is the only way to escape this school.”
Katio could feel his breath picking up, panic becoming the leading emotion in his head. Kill someone to leave? That’s insane!! He was losing his grip, heart beating out of his chest and his hands gripping the sleeves of the others absurdly tight. A hand dropped to his soldier, surprisingly calm. He looked up and saw the Ultimate Affluent Progeny, lips in a taut line as she stared at the black and white bear.
“What makes you think we’ll just go along with this? Do you forget we’re children? The chances of us getting the nerve to kill someone is absolutely absurd, and this is considering you’re telling the truth. Chances are, this is some trick, a prank of some sort. Why someone would go through this much trouble to prank us, I don’t know, but there is no way you would be allowed to do this, considering some of our home lives.” Kaede spoke with such confidence and authority, the kind Kaito likes to pretend to have but could never amount to. A kind of confidence bread by experience, one she could only get in the kind of life she lives.
The bear quirked his little head.
“You all keep acting like this isn’t real. What is it gonna take to convince you that you’re stuck here forever? Because this isn’t a joke you know.”
As soon as Monokuma finished his sentence, there was a short rustling sound, a blur of motion, and suddenly, Monokuma was being held in the air. Holding him up in a death grip was the short purple haired kid, an ice glare on his face.
“I don’t know what your game is, or what psycho decided it would be a fun idea to mess with us. Whatever your reason, I’m not a fan, so I’m giving you about ten seconds to cut this shit out before I destroy your little toy.”
“A-Ah! This is certainly unexpected!”
“10.”
“Hold on now! You have no idea what I’m capable of little boy-” The grip on the bear’s face tightened.
“9.”
“You don’t want to do this, trust me.”
“8.”
“Alright, if this is what you want!”
“8.” An autonomous voice joined in with the smaller boy’s counting.
“7.”
“7.”
“Hey, m-maybe you should put it down.” Himiko stepped forward towards the boy and the robot.
“Stay out of this!” The boy snapped, causing Himiko to yank her hand back.
“6.”
“6.”
“She has a point, I feel like you should let go of the-” Kirumi tried to reason, but was interrupted.
“5.”
“5.”
There were some metal clanging noises.
“What the hell is that?” Kaito shouted out.
“4.”
“4.”
“Seriously man, put the damn thing down!” Ryoma shouted, but he was ignored as well.”
“3.”
“3.”
“2.”
“2.”
The metal clanging got louder, and Kaito moved before he could think, his panic fueled adrenaline making him do something he normally wouldn’t.
“1.”
As soon as he spoke the last number, Kaito pushed the bear out of his hands, stopping him from destroying it. The boy turned to the much taller one, the icy glare now directed to him.
“What the he-!” He was cut off as metal spikes sprung out of the belly of Monokuma, shooting straight up and out to the spot the kid previously stood, and still would have if he had still been holding the bear. The spikes pierced through the air, ripping through the fabric on the short kid’s shirt sleeve and the side of Kaito’s sweater, cutting through the skin with the tips of the metal. Both let out a surprised cry of pain, and Monokuma dropped on the floor with a small CLANG.
Kaito gripped his side with his opposite hand, a pained grimace on his face as he stared at the bear. He heard a few startled cries from behind him, and soon felt a pair of hands on his shoulders. Turning around, his face met a worried Miu’s, with Kaede soon behind him.
“Holy shit, you alright dude?”
Breathing heavily, Kaito nodded.
“Yeah...yeah I’m okay.”
No one had time to move much before the metal spikes returned to the belly of the robot, sinking back in and being covered up as though they weren’t even there in the first place. Monokuma sprung up with a hearty chuckle.
“Looks like you got saved before I could skewer you! Well, at least now you know that I am serious about this! If that nosy kid hadn’t saved your ass, you’d be good as a shish-kebab!”
He laughed again.
“Now, it’s important to know that violence against the headmaster is strictly against the rules! I’ll let you off with a warning this time, but anyone else who disobeys the rules won’t be let off that easily.”
Everyone was silent, the gravity of the situation finally dawning on those who’d been skeptical before.
“I’m not unfair though! I’ll be giving you all fully digital e-Handbooks so that you know the rules of the school and what not to do! Remember, there are surveillance cameras all over the school, so don’t even think about getting away with anything naughty.”
Dread settled over the entire gym, everyone staring down at the handbooks being held to them as Monokuma went down the line. Once all were handed out, Monokuma straightened out.
“Well then, that’s the end of the entrance ceremony! I hope you all have a wonderfully depressing school life here at the school, and I look forward to what kind of murders you decide to come up with!”
He gave us a small wave, his unnerving half-smile still plastering on his face.
“See ya!”
And like that, he was gone, leaving us all to our own devices.
“Well, shit.”
