Is it insane for me to get emotional about Dang Litefoot? Let me get insane over Dang for a moment.
I know a lot of more emotionally intense moments in D20 are kind of stepped past and not taken in impact continuing on from it so I am simply left to go insane by myself. I already really liked Dang from the start with his very easy fuck authority attitude and his being a presumably struggling older teenager/young adult-I mean come on he's living in his uncles shed, it can't be said he has a great situation. So, already, I really liked him and found some relatability- also the sort of disheveled outgrown dyed hair reminded me quite a lot of people I've seen on T for awhile and I was personally quite happy to see that.
And clearly, Dang's familiar with being an outcast. However much his belief in Rashab goes, its clearly something precious to him that brings him a Peace and Comfort- how he got through the initial getting into the game so smoothly as the others struggle was holding true to his belief. It was both very funny for the insanity of the bits and the comedy in it but something I very much enjoyed that he had some sort of grounding- and then getting just absolutely punched in the gut by having it confirmed how much of an outcast Dang has been and how Lonely he is. Standing away from the group as they shop and recount, thinking about that horrible hope he must have had that his friends might take him seriously, might actually Respect him, since clearly theres insane magic shit thats REAL in the world with this insane thing they all went through together- that theres a chance they'll take him seriously.
Being so clearly not- Respected about this thing that's so important to him. Even with how nice russell and wendell were, clearly still finding him insane and not paying the thought to try and take him Seriously, ask him any questions about his belief or how its helped him, how he feels about this all-
Of course it sounds insane, out of character thats a big part of the bit. But it cements how no matter what- Dang is an outcast. No matter what insane shit happens to other people, something that can bond and get a group together like nothing else could- Dangs still alone.
Not to mention the immediately jumping to absolutely horrible coping mechanisms, getting drunk and sleeping with strangers. Its just- its the fact it all happened, that loneliness, going to those unhealthy coping mechanisms, almost dying, and then just- continuing on. Coming back. Not even mentioning what had happened to the others like hey I just almost died- the fucking cutting away to Paula talking about his "Stupid Rashab thing"
IMJUSTTT Im just I feel so insane im getting so emotional over Dang Litefoot and i want to give him a fucking hug and say I'd love to talk with him and understand him more and also hey lets talk about some healthier coping mechanisms buddy alright okay youre doing so good im fuckin sobbing

so Theoretically, many (i wont say all but. perhaps) of the d20 worlds could exist in the same universe, right?
take a starstruck odyssey: im not familiar with a lot of the lore from the comics and play and such, but based on what i know from the show. earth exists but most people dont live on it, and then we got the thing with plug to let us know that magic? also real. but very uncommon - maybe a thing more prevalent in the past, yknow? aso is a future version of our world, which is also where, for example, the unsleeping city takes place, and knowing that magic exists in both makes that more likely
but the possibility of countless planets opens up a plethora of possibilities. perhaps spyre is another world where magic is more common and species like elves and orcs and such are aliens. same with calorum and etc
then a court of fey and flowers: fun worldbuilding we got there bc of the bits that the players get up to. magic and the fey are real of course, but as is jeremy renner. so acofaf reasonably could take place in the same year that it was released, which also puts it around the same time as tuc, mismag, nsbu, etc
oh also rashab !!! alien !!!!!! nsbu and aso could be very interconnected ...... maybe rashab is a brain slug thta would be really fun
but in acofaf, the story of pinnochio also exists, although its a bit different than the one in neverafter. but the whole thing about neverafter is that theres various different versions of each story. it could be that acofaf and is the same universe as/more heavily intertwined with some realities in neverafter but not all of them
anyways. late night rambling

Hes casually killed the people knocked out in the elevator too. Im wondering about the casual "yeah shoot em" attitude, its less comical than Paula waving her gun around, and more in character I think as a James Bond type to just be coolly detachedly finishing off enemies. But its a deliberate character choice Jacob is making and Im a little terrified of what the emotional implications are going to be.
Like there is a detachedness, theyre in a movie, none of these characters are real people to them. Maybe not to Dang. Liv is being very thoughtful with everyone. But I wonder if Dang was suddenly given power in Lake Elsinore if he would be this ruthless as well. And the elevator was before everyone rejecting Rashab.
Teenage angst is partly always about powerlessness. Youre not a kid but you cant be an adult yet. From Dang-as-Stocks' very first scene, hes never been treated as competent before. Hes never been treated like an adult, like hes powerful. Of course he likes it.
And everyones had a go at Paula for being all over the place and waving her gun around. I dont think anyones taken note of Dang quietly murdering people while theyre out cold.
And Jacob wants to get to the highest D20 kill count. That could just be it. But the shoe is dangling and Im waiting for it to drop.
Also just. Silly shopping scene, uproarous, and then Dang quietly just "why does it seem like none of you believe in Rashab?". Quiet. Devastating. Instant mood change. Dang walks off and only his uncle notices. If Russel hadnt followed, how long till someone noticed? He wouldve been dead. /Brennan wouldve found a way to not outright kill a PC, give a way for Stocks to survive, but thats a meta-analysis because GMs dont just murder PCs like that. But in-world, they insult Rashab, Dang is upset, Dang disappears. Thats it.
And crucially, does dying in the movie mean dying in real life?
I'm sitting here, just going mildly insane thinking about Dang --
Virgin, Believes in Aliens, takes a PBR in a glass and pours it back into the can, gets mad that nobody else believes in aliens, goes for a ménage à trois, again - virgin, already knows about & is into cucking I guess, totally Rolls with the punches, "Oink, oink" right before a beautiful woman in the most gorgeous lingerie you've ever seen says, "Have total faith in me" then blows a dart into his throat, his Uncle who is a very sexy cat burglar woman pats him on the back to tell him he's still a virgin after he wakes up and both people are incapacitated -- fires once to kill the cuck
He just keeps Rolling
