Generation 1:

Summary:

You were that kid in high school, everyone loved to hate you. Why wouldn’t they, you instigated problems, destroyed reputations, and looked good doing it. A good reputation? What is that? Can you eat it? Can it give you the power that you desire? Reputation is an intangible thing that everyone cares about and will do anything to upkeep. But you? You’re just here for a good time. Reputations can go to hell~

Requirements:

o   Start with 1 sim, a house/lot that costs less than 35,000 simoleons and 10,000 simoleons!

o   If starting out as YA, have a bad reputation/public image

o   If teen, start out with neutral reputation/public image and keep it bad throughout high school

o   Age up with Argumentative trait (Parenthood)

Summary:

Your parents were messy~ They were a power couple known for their top-notch drama and great looks. But you knew at home they bickered more than anything, and barely registered your existence. Summary:

As much as you’ve wanted to change the narrative, one look at your last name and people think they know you. You dream of one day running away from it all, of starting afresh, where no one knows you or your family, and no one can judge you by your last name. However, running away and living comfortably requires money, and a lot of it if you plan to hide your identity after running away. So you’re committed to grinding and making as much money as you can so that your kids can one day live a peaceful life without the stigma.

They’ve always given you everything you’ve ever asked for! Plus, you have a ton of friends in your neighborhood! You always promised to stay together and go on a ton of outdoor adventures together. So you can’t wait to explore what the world has to offer you! Who says small towns are no fun? They just haven’t dug deep enough! There’s just something about the cock’s crow waking you up, the fine crackle of the wood in the fireplace, and the soft, glowy light of a candle that screams “home”~

Summary:

Your small neighborhood is beautiful. Your parents are well rooted in your community and they look like they would never want to leave. You, however, have some different plans. As much as you love your community and family, and all that they have done for you, you know that there’s something about you. Something that needs to be brought out and shared with the world. So you’re prepared to leave your small town. With the blessing of your parents, you hope to make it big out in the city! And you do! But what’s this? Your family had a horrible reputation? They were so mean and brought other people down? They spread lies and ruined lives? Oh no! To atone for their “crimes”, you will do everything in your power to apologize. Your fans say you’re nothing like your old family, that you don’t have to worry about it. It wasn’t your fault, they’ll still support you! As thankful as you are for those sentiments, everything you have is material anyways. The havoc that your family wrecked upon the lives of these innocent people is far more than you can pay for. So you’ll spend the rest of your life giving back. You’ll even give the shirt off of your back if it brings out one more smile.

1. If the challenge is started as a young adult, do we still need to get the Argumentative trait for Gen 1? No! But feel free to cheat it in if you'd like~

2. If the challenge is started while Gen 1 is a child or younger/not born yet, does the parents fame level matter? No~ Feel free to make them however you want. We purposefully left quite a few aspects open and free to encourage storytelling!

3. For Gen 3, are we allowed to go back to the old world for just visiting, even just to a lot? Haha, absolutely not! 😈 Gen 3 is to avoid their former world like the plague and NEVER step foot back in it. Their kids and grandkids?... well that's a different story.

4. How do we do the lifestyles? We found it easiest to just cheat it onto our Sim on either their young adult, adult, or elder birthday. Just make sure to keep it up for the entire lifd state! After that you're free to let it fade away or poof it away with the aspiration reward potion~ But feel free to make it harder and work to unlock the lifestyles~

5. Donating every day is taking so long! How can I make it faster? Well! Here are a few ideas! You can gift a Sim up to 10000 simoleans! Maybe you're giving them a college scholarship, or a charitable donation. You can purchase items and donate them. 15000 violins being donated to your local orchestra anyone? Or if you're really feeling like dropping some simoleans, fund the building of a community lot. Drop the community lot of your choice and deduct the simolean value from your household funds. For an extra touch (add your sim's name to the lot name/ or host a meet and greet there)~ Or go the old fashioned way and donate to an online charity through your computer!

6. Can this challenge be started as a rag to riches? Of course! But it's not necessary~ just make sure that Gen 1 officially starts with no more than 10000 simoleans in their possession~

Wendy has long bleach tentacles with suction cups lining the top and a few suction cups at the ends facing her, fair skin, thunder blue eyes, clawed/webbed fingers and toes. She has a tail with fins she uses to swim and carry heavy objects.

Wendy could be seen wearing all sorts of clothes, both being made by her hands, bought with some adjustments. If she's at the beach she'll be in a swimsuit or a dress. One specific thing she'll have on is a cremation necklace with her lover's ashes. Inside the heart is her lover's ashes with the engagement ring she was going to propose.

She's mild mannered and kind individual with a tendency to worry if she's crossing any boundaries. She can become awkward when around others she doesn't know in groups.

She grows concerned about how others see her. In her younger years she was bullied for her looks leading to doubting anyone who give her a compliment automatically assuming they'll want something.

Wendy is a Turf Rink Cleaner with her coworkers she calls 'The Loon Crew' from how everyone being goofballs and making games/challenges to make each area a little more exciting to handle. The job can easily become chaotic if the arenas are being used for several matches back to back.

After two years Wendy started getting interested in handling large tanks of ink. Her boss decided to teach her some things on basic maintenance and operation. Later on she got her certification after failing a bunch of times. She loves her work as it fits her perception of herself, a normal girl who happened to be born to stand out.

He’s mighty, he’s magical, he’s mighty magical. The Ogroid Thaumaturge, one of the two big bosses from the Warhammer Quest: Silver Tower boxed game.  

Boy this guy was tough to photograph... the camera just did not like having those really bright flames in front of the really dark flesh tone. The colors are pretty close to what I see under the bright painting lights, although the camera made the OSL on his horns considerably more garish than it actually is.  He’s also in kind of an odd pose, looking down with his face almost obscured, which made it even more challenging to photograph.  Still, I’m quite pleased with how he turned out.

The last photo is trying to show the freehand on the belt eye and the loincloth, but the eye is tilted downward which makes it hard.  I wanted the loincloth pattern to be pretty subtle so it’s low contrast, but it came out nice and tidy I think.

Dire Cthulhu . This guy was fun! Along with Brown Jenkin, I was really looking forward to painting this brute! He may be green, but there's something so satisfying with seeing a lot of purples and reddish browns on your palette. =) He's relatively big and contrast is a challenge for me the larger the model is... so I kind of pushed my comfort zones with this. Not much of a difference when compared to my smaller paint ups (contrast-wise), but there's just some weird mental block for me or something. . I was surprised how fast he went, given the size... I went back and forth on how to do his eyes, 'cause they're actually pretty difficult to see. I originally planned to make them glow orangey-yellow like the original Cthulhu, but Dire Cthulhu's eyes are so small and there's not a lot surrounding them to sell an OSL effect... ultimately I went with white, largely because it makes them easier to see on the model, haha. . Anyway, I've been thinking for a while now that I'd like to re-paint my original Cthulhu, as I feel like my skills have advanced enough to make a difference. It's interesting seeing them side-by-side, since I used similar colors. For now, I may just substitute Dire Cthulhu in for GC if we won't use him as an independent... just to see how board presence is, but beyond that, I've scratched my Want-To-Repaint-Cthulhu itch. . Davis points to other techniques, such as optically stimulated luminescence, which could help confirm the timing. But Stafford adds that OSL can have very large standard deviations, so may not provide a tidy confirmation. Yet the team is still working to perfect their methods of uranium dating and to obtain OSL dates for additional confirmation.

"I, for one, will be very excited if this is true," Davis says. But he adds, "I just think it's premature for us to get the champagne out and say it's been done, we've nailed it."

About 16,000 years ago, on the banks of a river in western Idaho, people kindled fires, shaped stone blades and spearpoints, and butchered large mammals. All were routine activities in prehistory, but their legacy today is anything but. The charcoal and bone left at that ancient site, now called Cooper's Ferry, are some 16,000 years old—the oldest radiocarbon-dated record of human presence in North America, according to work reported this week in Science.

The findings do more than add a few centuries to the timeline of people in the Americas. They also shore up a new picture of how humans first arrived, by showing that people lived at Cooper's Ferry more than 1 millennium before melting glaciers opened an ice-free corridor through Canada about 14,800 years ago. That implies the first people in the Americas must have come by sea, moving rapidly down the Pacific coast and up rivers. The dates from Cooper's Ferry "fit really nicely with the [coastal] model that we're increasingly getting a consensus on from genetics and archaeology," says Jennifer Raff, a geneticist at  the University of Kansas in Lawrence who studies the peopling of the Americas.
