Alrighty, as promised, the first of many vinyl collection showcases to come! Starting strong with an absolute classic.

Thrash Til Death is a four way comp from the early 80s Japanese hardcore scene. Showcasing some big fucking names, we've got GAUZE, LIP CREAM, OUTO, and SYSTEMIC DEATH laying down their classic ripping and tearing Japanese hardcore. Fun tid-bit, the term Thrash started with punk well before metal ever picked it up. An absolute thrashing album of classics and legends, this is a treasure of mine and it gets played often. Check it out on YouTube or scrounge the depths of discogs for a copy if you want to jam it, it's worth the listen!

tietääkö suomitumppu miiko toiviaisen? se on suomalainen transtaustainen näyttelijä, tunnettu esim kepeä elämäni monologista ja seremonianestarin roolista cabaret-musikaalista.

noh, meikäfani meni hänen perässään espoon teatteriin katsomaan minna craucher -musikaalia. se sijoittuu suomen historiaan 1920-30 lukujen taitteeseen ja seurailee craucherin hahmon kautta sen ajan taidetta ja politiikkaa. Miikon yksi rooleista oli Olavi Paavolainen, vasemmistolainen runoilija joka halusi tuoda uusia kansainvälisiä tuulia suomalaisen taiteen kentälle ainaisen perämehtäläisyyden sijaan.

Mistä seurasi se että Miiko lauloi suoraan minua päin syyttävän vihaisesti tämän lainin, ja vain ja ainoastaan tämän yhden lainin:

"TÄÄLLÄ ROMANTISOIDAAN TUKKIJÄTKIÄ!!"

ja jatkoi sitten laulua muihin suuntiin ikään kuin ei olisi juuri pistänyt minua oikosulkuun kun eri todellisuudet romahtivat kasaan ja fanittamani musikaalitähti syytti minua synnistä joka on reissumies/koskenlaskija fanficin kirjoittaminen

Lava Lamp’s super serious face is SO PRECIOUS. 

I have to assume they’ve talked about the reasons behind having a secret name already, because Lava Lamp knows more about this later and he isn’t learning it here. I imagine their training before this moment was pretty extensive considering everything he can do later on too, even though he’s like 7 right now. 

BUT ALSO this circles back around to me remembering that we don’t know what Lava Lamp’s birth name is yet. 

And I kind of love that they named him something completely unrelated and were very happy with this until they figured out who he was and were probably like, “Oh woops!” and probably “Well Syaoran was only his assumed name in the future so I suppose this still works out just fine!”

… PLUS. If you think about it, Lava Lamp only goes by "Syaoran" because it was his Dad’s name. But his clone was only named Syaoran because Lava Lamp was already called Syaoran. 

So, Syaoran is named Syaoran because his name already is Syaoran before he technically existed. 

Which is the most fun time loop technicality and I absolutely love it.

my biggest petty annoyance is when i make a big ol' post discussing a theme or analyzing a character in drizzt and then people reblog it sighing in the tags that OH IF ONLY THE BOOKS HAD GONE INTO THIS, TOO BAD THEY SUCK and its like where do you think i got this analysis from. my ass. do you need me to quote and cite every single sentence and paragraph? i didn't pull it out of thin air, why do you think i've magically created this complexity out of whole cloth
