উসূলে সালাসা হলো ঈমান ও ইসলামের তিনটি মূলনীতি। ইসলাম প্রতিষ্ঠিত রয়েছে ওই সকল বিষয়ের উপর যার নির্দেশ মহান আল্লাহ্‌ দিয়েছেন এবং যা তাঁর প্রিয়নবী মুহাম্মাদ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহে ওয়া সাল্লাম সুন্নাতের মাধ্যমে অভিব্যক্ত করেছেন, যেমনটি রাসুলের সাহাবাবগণ বুঝেছেন এবং কর্মে বাস্তব রূপ দিয়েছেন

একটি বিখ্যাত হাদিসে নবী মুহাম্মাদ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহে ওয়া সাল্লাম তিনটি প্রশ্নের বিবরণ দিয়েছেন যে তিনটি প্রশ্ন মুসলিম ও অমুসলিম নির্বিশেষে প্রত্যেক ব্যক্তিকে জিজ্ঞাসা করা হবে ।
