Alright, so I've said this before, but Octavian can turn into a wolf.

And when I say a wolf, I mean a BIG wolf. Like, polar bear sized wolf. He's a big boy.

It's something he gets from his late father, who in turn, could do the same.

Additionally, his bat form is the traditional vampire bat, but he tries not to look spoopy.

What was Octavian’s best sexual experience with a man?

Has anyone ever left him with his legs shaking, bred and filled with sticky cum? Or maybe he’s left someone like that (maybe minus the breeding part…)?

Uhhh, once when he was like 24, he hooked up with this guy and he fucked his brains til he felt like jelly.

I’ve been thinking about a vampire AU, so here are my current ideas/notes about it. Let me know what you think. (Thsi may be multiple parts, so apologies if it turns out to be.)

General vampirism rules in the EHA universe: (a) Vampires can age, however age very very slowly. A born-vampire, or youth-turned, will age normally until age 21, then begin the very slowed aging process (eg. A 50 yr old will look around 30, or so). (b) Vampires are not too common, but they also aren’t rare. Those that are vampires have to keep their state-of-being under wraps, as not to alert scientists, who tend to get grabby and very experimental. (c) Vampires are very tough beings. They can go through a lot, and not a single scratch will appear on their body. Octavian used to take advantage of this a lot and jump off high buildings (late at night) for the adrenaline, especially during manic episodes.

The (biological/born) Windroe family are vampires. They are generational vampires, with the vampirism going down decades/centuries, and the general tradition was for two vampires to marry, and have kids.

When Elspeth wanted to marry River, a human; it follows normal EHA canon and she is forced to marry Richard, a vampire, from a very wealthy family.

Elspeth and Richard then had four kids, Zephyr, Octavian, Ciero, and Favio, made only to prolong the vampirism in the Windroe family line.

Richard died from an unknown assailant shooting him with a silver bullet. To this day, his murderer is unknown.

Those married into the Windroe family, who are not vampires, are a very new development, and only one (so far) has been changed into a vampire since.

Patrick was turned when Ciero found him after his attempt. He was almost certainly going to die unless he got medical treatment immediately, and since that was not available, Ciero did what she thought was the next best thing, and changed him into a vampire.

Everyone found out what Ciero did as Patrick started going through the initial “feral” stages of turning. She got into quite a lot of trouble because of it.

Jack G is not a vampire, his sister, Jill, is, though (she got turned when they both lived in London, they were both 18 and close to their departure date to go to America). Zephyr has taken a very strong liking to Jack, and has actively talked about turning him.

Frankie is not a vampire, and isn’t too sure if he believes Elspeth when she says she is one. He’s unsure if he wants to get turned, though.

I’m not too sure if Mira would be, I don’t think so, but I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Jack K was born a half-vampire; his mother was a vampire and his father was a human. Jack was fully-turned by his mother a year before his enucleation, it’s unclear why she did it, but his turning did save him from almost dying. He really enjoys hunting, it’s oddly calming for him.

Olly is a half-human half-vampire, like Natalie. She knows what she is and has no current plans to fully turn.

Bentley is a vampire, both of his parents were vampires. He knows what he is, and is… okay with the fact. He can’t really change it now, can he? At least he can talk to Jane about it and get some tips for better dealing with it.

Jane is a born vampire to two, now dead, vampire parents. She isn’t too sure whether to like or hate her state of being, but at least her new parents have some good tips!

Natalie is a dhampir; a half-human, half-vampire. She isn’t aware of this, however. If she were to become aware of it, I think she’d want to stay as she is, not too sure, though. Any thoughts you have are appreciated.

Toby and Cody are probably vampires? They may’ve been turned after the car crash? I genuinely have no idea.

Jay is a vampire. He was forcefully turned against his will. It was one of the most painful and traumatic moment of his life. He hates being a vampire, and has tried to starve himself multiple times. It’s also really sucky because it means he can’t practice Islam with Naveedah (spelling?).

Brian is a vampire. He uses his immortality for evil, he loves setting fire to shit and walking out mainly unharmed. He also very much enjoys the hunt.

Doby might be human? Again, I don’t know. Kate smells like a human, but it’s hard to definitively tell.

And, everyone else is human.

Ooh, Mira would probably be some kind of lycanthrope, I feel...

I also feel like Natalie would be a werewolf too, however... purely bc her uncle James is very werewolf coded to me.

The one thing I always enjoy with vampire-related media is how every author’s ideas of vampires/werewolves/whatever is different. So, I’m wondering, what are your vampires/werevolves/witches like?

(eg. questions like: Do they have certain stereotypes, do they not have other stereotypes? How do they age? Do vampire’s fangs elongated on just the top, or both top and bottom, perhaps all teeth sharpen and elongate? Do werewolve’s teeth elongate? Is it painful for a werewolf to transform, can they control it?)

Alright, so for simplicity's sake, I'm gonna break this down into three parts. One on vampires, one on witches, and one on werewolves.

Vampires:

Alright, so vampires have a lot of similarities to their origins:

They can't eat garlic (it's not just ciero this time!) or be around garlic flowers.

They cannot be in pure sunlight for too long.

They cannot cross any running bodies of water.

However, in this Canon, they can be outside in the day, it just weakens their abilities and makes them uncomfortable instead of just outright killing them.

Vampire abilities tend to first manifest during youth/early days of vampiracy and are honed/developed over time. Such as turning into bats, enhanced senses, or scaling walls.

Additionally, on occasion, a vampire can pick up abilities that are a bit more specialised/unique. For example, Ciero, Favio, and Zephyr all have a mild form of telekinesis. Or, Octavian can turn into a wolf (genuine vampire ability).

Dhampirs sadly lack these traits.

The teeth extention tends to vary based on vampire to vampire, it is hardly consistent outside of being an elongation of canines.

Vampires age slowly, with the Windroe siblings all looking several years younger than they actually are, and Elspeth looking a solid decade younger. Additionally, their lifespans tend to last several centuries if not interrupted (Dhampirs live shorter lives, but not by much)

Witches:

To put it simply, a witch is anyone that can use any kind of magic. In the context of this blog, Tim has some vague green fire magic. When he was little, he was saved from a burning building by his adoptive mother, and was basically raised around magic/demons and stuff (he's a fancy rich boy in this au).

Witches age slightly slower than regular people, but usually not living more than twenty years or so longer.

Werewolves:

Essentially, werewolves can shift into a more canid form at will most of the time. And usually it varies from family to family or even person to person. It doesn't have to be a dog specifically, but it usually is. And they are typically about the size of a horse when they do transform - making them larger than what their breed would usually be.

An additional piece of lore that I have down is that, about 0.5 percent of all werewolves in North America are descendants of the mythical Navajo spirit Coyote, hence why they can transform.

Also, yes, it does hurt to transform at the full moon into their more monstrous form. Their teeth do change into more canid ones when they shift. And yes, they have the weakness to silver.

They age about the same as humans.

Alright! So, a while ago, I had an Idea for the Windroes being involved in a documentary about Linore Windroe.

...this is the result of that idea, wherein they were interviewed about her.

Question 1: How Would You Describe Linore Windroe?

Zephyr: quite sweet, really… she'd let us lie on her bed and sing to us in Greek.

-

Octavian: Well, she was my grandma. You know, she loved us. She loved us all. She was a very loving person.

Ciero: she gave me the wrappers for some hard candies once. That was confusing.

Favio: I remember one time - she called me her "Elliot"… mom really couldn't handle that.

Elspeth: my mother was… beyond words. She was an actress. She was a model, a pro-immigration and anti-segregation activist, a mother… She was so many things. It's hard to find just one that defines her.

Question Two: Favourite Linore Windroe Film?

-

Elspeth: Oh, definitely "A Crisp Leaf in Winter". The scene with the train? Gorgeous. She used to sing the songs from it as a lullaby for Mr and my brothers.

Zephyr: I'd have to say… "London's Letter". The moment where her character realises what is in the envelope… Well, it changed me as a child.

Octavian: I didn't really watch any of Grandma's movies… Like, there were some that I saw, but none that… oh, God. I'm gonna sound really cruel, but… there were none that really held a place in my heart.

Ciero: I remember seeing… She was Ophelia in a production of Hamlet once. It was recorded, and mom showed me it. It really spoke to me.

Favio: Oh, anything grandma was in, she turned to gold. You can't really pick when it comes to her. But, "Seamstress's Delight" was my… revival, I shall say, in my darkest time.

Question Three: Do You Have a Favourite Memory of Linore?

-

Elspeth: Yes, actually… I was nineteen - Zephyr was only a baby at the time, and I was staying with my mom for some support. I went for a little nap when he was asleep, and when I woke up… right in the corner of my room, my mother was sitting, holding my baby… saying "sweet little Ezzy, my baby boy."

Elspeth: you never think about how much it affected her - my brother's deaths - but it did. To her dying day.

Zephyr: I had brought my son to see her for the first time - me and my husband had - and we sat him with her. She looked at him for a moment, and then… she sang. For the first time in nearly a decade, she sang.

Octavian: Yeah, my daughter came with me to visit her once, and grandma just began to softly style her hair. Brushing it and combing it, as if it were able to fall out with a single touch. Olly loved showing her her comics, and she recognised Batman right away.

Ciero: I was about twelve, and we went to see her. I brought my dog with me - a beagle, Marty, my… first best friend - and he lay on her lap the entire time. And in that time, she was the most coherent I ever remember her being.

Favio: well, I was sixteen - I had been out for about… two years. And Mom took us to visit her. Well, of course, I expected the worst. You know, deadnaming, calling me mom's name, but instead, she just looked at me and asked who the handsome gentleman was.

Question Four: What Impact Did Her Death Have On You?

Elspeth: I was… lost without her. She was my mom, you know?

Zephyr: it was heartbreaking, truly.

Octavian: I think I entered my worst depressive episode in years…

Ciero: I… it came at possibly the worst time for me. It just… added a lot of grief onto the pile. And… I broke down.

Favio: …I miss my grandmother, every single day.

Question Five: Are There Any Last Words You Wish You Could Tell Her?

Zephyr: Thank you, for… everything.

Octavian: I'm still hanging on, Grandma. For you and for the little girl you met.

Ciero: I am finally alive again. Happy. I'm now myself.

Ciero: Well, he had some cd's that he burned, and used to play them for me when he were going to class.

Bentley: Oh. Okay.

Bentley: Hey, Pops?

Patrick: Yeah, Bean?

Bentley: how'd you get into like, rock and metal and stuff like that?

Patrick: picked it up from your uncle Octi. He used to play mix tapes when he drove us to school, and it spiralled from there.

Bentley: alright. Thanks, Pops.

[Much later]

Bentley: Yo, Uncle Octi?

Octavian: Yeah, kid?

Bentley: how'd younget into all this rock and metal music?

Octavian: Well... its actually a funny story.

Bentley: is it?

[Octavian grins and nods]

Octavian: Oh, yeah. See, when we were kids, our old man wasn't the best. And your uncle Zeph used music to deal with it.

Bentley: Uncle Zephyr?

Octavian: Yeah. Man can't show emotion, and listened to some of the hardest shit there is. I don't know, maybe it was the only way he felt comfortable expressing himself.

Bentley: Oh... okay. Thanks.

[Another while later]

Bentley: heyyyy, uncle Zephy!

Zephyr: what is it?

Bentley: I was talking with Uncle Octavian, and he said... you were the one that got him into metal music.

Zephyr: he did... did he?

Bentley: Yeah. And I was just wanting to know... how did you?

Zephyr: hm? How did I? How did I get into it?

[Bentley nods]

Zephyr: it was my grandma. She had a rolling stones vinyl that she lent to me, and I listened to it. Then, as my interest grew, I amassed a larger collection. And before I knew it, I had several vinyls, cassets, and cds at my disposal.

Favio: Octi?

Octavian: Yeah, lil Wind?

Favio: where's Ciero?

Octavian: what do you mean?

Favio: I haven't seen him since the start of the party.

Octavian: and I havent seen Patrick either.

[The door to the kitchen bursts open, and Patrick - with an unbuttoned shirt, an undone belt, messy hair and a heaving chest - stands in the way]

Patrick: bingo!

[He then dusts his hands and goes back into the kitchen]

did Richard ever get along, or try to bond, with his sons? Was there ever a time when he genuinely cared about their well-being and not just making them into carbon copies of himself?

There were a few times he got on with the kids.

When Zephyr got elected head of his student council, Richard definitely cared for him.

When Octavian was younger, he was really good at American Football, and Richard could bond with him over that.

Uh... Ciero... they'd talk at breakfast?

As for Favio. There was a time when an older boy was giving him (before he came out) a hard time. Harassing him. Following him. Basically, it got to the point of nearly breaking into Eldritch Hall. And Richard definitely wanted to protect his youngest then.
