I've also noticed an uncomfortable trend over the last decade of the only people telling me how to feel about my heritage or that I don't truly understand the black struggle tend to not be black at all. Tf is up with that? Mind your own.
#anya says shit#and i let them fucking do it!#over and fucking over again#because i've been isolated from it growing up#and then to have non-black people constantly telling me how i should fucking feel or understand things#it's motherfucking infuriating#like they understand the experience more than i do#when they only ever learned shit online or a watered-down version from someone who really didn't feel comfortable telling them anything#or like me has grown up having to please and not upset them too much#it's just fucking....#i'm tired#when i literally just had my mother tell me she's glad i learned how to code switch young#so i get discriminated on less in the professional world#like that wasn't a big part of why i was made fun of as a kid in both worlds

HEY here is my Switch friend code for anyone who wants it! the only games i really play online are Splatoon and Mario Kart, but i’m trying to make an effort to be more accessible and open again so if anyone wants to add then feel free :)
#i had to change my name to Duck Twacy since i wanted that to be my name in Mario Kart but forgot you can’t have “’nicknames’ in it boo#but maybe Duck Twacy is more recognizable than Eliza. who knows. just feels funny without a Daffy icon! naked even!#and i really do aim to get back to all my asks and DMs THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE GUYS SERIOUSLY#i’ve been so buried by work (in a good way! because i love my work but i think i’ve neglected to take proper care of myself in favor of#constantly feeling i need to grind whether with work or reviews or anything) so i really am determined to detach a little and be more open#and indulgent and ALL THAT FUN STUFF#how does sharing my friend code tie into that? you tell me!#(ID ALSO OFFER TO PLAY ACNH ONLINE TOO but i have terminal restart my island itis so there’s really nothing to do… it’s been a chronic habi#since i first started playing the Animal Crossing series as a little kid whoops)#but it’s been one of my lifelong loves too

today i learned that we weebs are responsible for the existence of the .ass file type. #heritage
#花話#i actually learned this yesterday i've just been cracking myself up over the 'hashtag-heritage' thing ever since#.ass is a subtitle file btw!!! they're what make the really pretty ones with the elaborate typesetting and positioning n stuff#i always thought they did that shit by burning the fonts into the video via aftereffects or smth but it turns out#that while you could burn an ass file to a video for hardsubbing you can apparently just. like it's a text file you can use a text editor#and also turn them off when watching your stuff if you wish and god i was so surprised when i realized you could do that#with the pretty subtitles bc when using online streaming the soft subs were usually so ugly#anyway through a series of wacky hijinks i've ended up coding a subtitle file type converter these last few hours#and in looking up the standards for how .srt .ass and .vtt files are formatted i learned this gem#and you know what!!!! it makes soooo much sense#of course we weebs went off and made a file type for elaborate subtitle styling and positioning and timing#the intersection of art and technology in the weeb fan sphere is actually pretty cool!! there's niche ass software for so much shit#bc of the tendency of weebs to be into tech and stuff#in my spelunkinh around the old web i've also found a bunch of old specialized scanlation software from the 2000s!!! that's so cool!!!!#i just use a notes program and photoshop but they were out there in 2004 or so making photo editors that#could not only open up and edit multiple images in sequence you could page through but also load up your translation txt file#and i think also had specialized tools for cleaning text bubbles and stuff#and also obviously correcting scan issues and straightening things out AND THIS IS SO COOL!!!!#like we did that!! that's how things were done before i got into anime!!! back when i was a little kid; before i was even rlly sentient!!!!!

CODE RED!
Congress (specifically Dick Durbin) is trying to sneak in EARN IT Act copycat bills called the Cooper Davis Act and the (S.1199) Act into the must past National Defense Authorization Act because they know that these bills are incredibly unpopular and fatally flawed!
For a sense of what these bills are actually like, here's what similar bills like the EARN IT Act and Kids Online Safety Act's flaws are:
Despite the claims of not subjecting our data to privacy risks, the only plausible way that the system created by KOSA works is by creating an age-verification system, that would require children and adults alike to hand over even more of their private data to unreliable and under-scrutinized third party companies with vast databases. In other words, people would be forced to upload their government IDs to access the internet. This is the exact opposite of protecting children’s privacy and data. The risk of exposing our identities if they are ever compromised is too great. What would happen to trans people, those in abusive situations, the undocumented, and activists not just here but internationally?
Through EARN IT, websites would essentially be made to become state actors and collect CSAM (Child Sexual Abuse Material). But by doing so, they basically make that evidence completely inadmissible in court due to violating the fourth amendment (unreasonable/unlawful search and seizure). In other words, not only are sexual predators more likely to run free, (which is the exact opposite of what they claim this bill will do), but this bill is actively asking to invade our privacy and gathering even more data on us despite claiming the opposite.
And these bills create an unaccountable committee that gets to dictate what constitutes as "harmful media", which can easily be used to silence LGBT media and enforce online censorship. They're shoving through TWO copycat bills under names that evoke "THINK OF THE CHILDREN!" onto a must pass bill to avoid any scrutiny, EXACTLY the same way that Richard Blumenthal tried to do the same thing back in Winter 2022!
Please help stop this; these bills could be forced in at any point between now and July 27th, and it'll be very difficult to get rid of them if they do get in! there is a script and phone numbers above.

Coding for Kids in Dubai & the Young Coders Program with Clevered
In today’s fast-paced digital era, coding is no longer just for computer scientists—it's a fundamental skill, just like reading and writing. From smartphones to smart cities, coding is the invisible thread tying innovation together. And now, in Dubai—one of the most futuristic cities in the world—young minds are embracing this superpower through the Young Coders Program by Clevered, a leading name in 21st-century education.
Why Coding for Kids?
Let’s face it—kids today are growing up in a tech-first world. They’re surrounded by apps, AI assistants, video games, and robots. So why not empower them to create the technology they use daily instead of just consuming it? Coding nurtures a child’s logical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving abilities. It builds digital confidence and opens doors to endless future opportunities.
But here’s the magic—it’s not just about computers. When kids learn to code, they learn how to think.
The Growing Need in Dubai
Dubai is rapidly establishing itself as a global tech hub. With initiatives like the UAE AI Strategy 2031 and the Dubai Future Accelerators, the city is investing heavily in digital transformation. Schools across the UAE are adopting artificial intelligence and robotics as early as primary levels.
This digital shift has created a growing demand for coding programs for children. Parents and educators are actively seeking high-quality platforms to nurture young innovators. That’s where Clevered comes in.
Introducing the Young Coders Program by Clevered
The Young Coders Program is a flagship initiative by Clevered designed to introduce kids and teens in Dubai to the world of coding, robotics, AI, and game development. It’s not just a course—it’s a movement shaping the next generation of global tech leaders.
Who is it for?
Clevered’s Young Coders Program caters to:
Ages 6 to 16
Absolute beginners with no tech background
Intermediate learners who want to upskill
Young tech enthusiasts looking to build real-world projects
Whether your child is curious about how a game works, wants to build a website, or dreams of creating an AI robot—Clevered’s coding tracks are tailor-made to unlock their potential.
Why Clevered? What Sets It Apart
In a market filled with generic online courses, Clevered is redefining how coding is taught to kids. Here's how:
1. Curriculum Backed by Global Standards
Clevered’s curriculum is mapped to international education frameworks including ISTE, CSTA, and the British Computing Curriculum. It combines foundational concepts with emerging technologies like:
Python & Scratch
Web Development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
Robotics and IoT
Game Development
AI and Machine Learning
App Design and UI/UX
2. Hands-On Learning with Real Projects
Kids don’t just learn; they build. Every module ends with a capstone project—be it designing a simple game, programming a robot, or developing a mini app. These projects help solidify learning while boosting creativity.
3. Expert Mentors, Not Just Instructors
The program is powered by top educators, coders, and innovators who are passionate about teaching. These mentors bring real-world tech experience and simplify complex concepts for young minds in a fun and relatable way.
4. Gamified & Interactive Learning
Clevered believes learning should be fun. That’s why the Young Coders Program includes games, challenges, badges, and friendly competitions that keep kids excited and engaged.
5. Flexible Formats
With busy school schedules and extracurriculars, Clevered offers flexible learning models:
Weekend & After-School Programs
Online + In-Center Options in Dubai
Holiday Bootcamps and STEM Camps
One-on-One and Group Classes
6. Parental Involvement & Progress Tracking
Parents receive regular updates, project reports, and skill assessments so they can see their child’s growth. Clevered even hosts demo days where kids present their projects to family and peers!
Benefits of Coding at a Young Age
Still wondering if your child should start coding early? Here are proven benefits of enrolling your child in the Young Coders Program:
✅ Improved Academic Performance
Studies show that coding helps improve math, logical reasoning, and analytical thinking.
✅ Boosted Creativity & Innovation
Kids learn to break down big problems, think independently, and explore multiple solutions.
✅ Confidence with Technology
Whether it’s AI, robotics, or software, your child won’t be intimidated by the future—they’ll be ready to lead it.
✅ Future-Ready Skills
As automation grows, coding is becoming a must-have skill across industries—from healthcare to media to finance.
Success Stories from Dubai
Clevered has already transformed hundreds of young lives in Dubai. From Grade 3 students developing their own mobile games to high schoolers building AI chatbots, the stories are endless.
Sarah, age 10, built a math quiz app using Python after just 3 months in the program.
Omar, age 13, created a robot using Arduino and presented it at his school’s tech fest.
Leila, age 15, learned how to build a website and launched her own online art portfolio.
These aren’t exceptions—they’re examples of what kids can achieve when given the right tools and mentorship.
Partnerships with Schools and Communities
Clevered actively partners with schools, community centers, and educational institutions in Dubai to bring the Young Coders Program to more children. Their in-school coding labs, weekend workshops, and interschool hackathons are building a strong tech ecosystem from the ground up.
They also offer custom programs for:
International Schools
STEM Clubs
Coding Olympiads
Community Development Initiatives
Tech Events & Competitions in the UAE

The Rise of Self-Paced Python Learning: Pros, Cons, and Best Platforms
Python is one of the most popular programming languages today, and learning it has never been more accessible. With the increasing demand for flexible learning, self-paced Python learning has gained massive popularity. Whether you are a beginner looking for the best resources to learn Python or a professional aiming to upskill, self-paced courses provide an excellent way to learn at your convenience.
In this blog, we will explore the pros and cons of self-paced Python learning, the best platforms to learn Python online, and how Guruface stands out with its Python courses for kids and beginners.
Why Self-Paced Learning is on the Rise?
Traditional classroom-based programming courses have their benefits, but they often come with fixed schedules and rigid timelines. On the other hand, self-paced learning allows students to absorb content at their own speed, making it more practical for those balancing work, school, or personal commitments.
With Python programming resources available online, learners can now access high-quality materials, practice exercises, and even AI-assisted tutoring, making learning more engaging than ever before.
Pros of Self-Paced Python Learning
Flexible Learning Schedule
One of the biggest advantages of self-paced courses is flexibility. Unlike traditional classroom settings, self-paced courses allow learners to study at their convenience, making it ideal for working professionals, students, and even kids.
Access to a Wide Range of Python Resources
The internet is full of Python programming resources, from interactive coding platforms to video tutorials and documentation. Learners can choose the format that suits their learning style best.
Cost-Effective Learning
Many Python programming online courses offer affordable options, and some even provide free courses. This makes self-paced learning accessible to anyone interested in learning the Python language without spending a fortune.
Hands-on Experience with Projects
Most self-paced courses include real-world projects that help learners apply their skills. This is crucial for beginners looking to gain practical experience with Python programming for beginners.
Revisit and Revise Anytime
With self-paced learning, students can revisit course materials anytime they need a refresher. This is particularly useful when learning a complex topic in Python programming language for beginners.
Cons of Self-Paced Python Learning
Lack of Immediate Feedback
One challenge with self-paced learning is the lack of real-time feedback. Unlike a live instructor-led course, learners may have to rely on forums or community support to get their queries answered.
Requires Self-Discipline
Without fixed deadlines, some learners may struggle with motivation. It is important to set personal goals and stick to a schedule when learning Python online at your own pace.
Limited Interaction with Peers and Mentors
Self-paced courses may lack the collaborative learning environment that comes with classroom settings. However, many platforms now offer discussion forums, mentor support, and live Q&A sessions to bridge this gap.
Best Platforms for Self-Paced Python Learning
If you are looking for the best Python programming course, several platforms offer excellent self-paced learning options. Here are some of the top choices:
