the fact that the hit is never mentioned again after act 1 will never sit right with me. the writers really took it way too lightly (& even some fans did) and imo things like that normalize domestic violence, that’s why i’m so upset. also i’ve seen people be like “vi’s strong, vi’s butch, she can take it blablabla” and wtf ? just bc she is doesn’t mean her GIRLFRIEND is allowed to hit her and it’s not okay that she never had to apologize for it and that it was magically forgiven & forgotten

i also think the hit wasn’t necessary in the story (especially if they were never going to mention it again), and it truly ruined caitvi for me as what i loved about them was their gentleness towards each other in s1 in a world full of violence. they totally changed their dynamic in s2 to make them toxic/passionate when they were very soft & emotional in s1 (and that’s what i loved abt them!!). i wish we got to see them be emotional together & talk to each other again in s2, as we did in the scene in cait’s bed in ep 8 :(

i have many things to say about how the writing of caitvi’s relationship disappointed me this season krkkrkr ;-; i loved them in s1, i thought they were perfeeect and was really excited about s2 but a lot of things were just wrong

I'm unsure how images come through in Asks but this is the most recent sketch of Rhaegar. I think I've only drawn mustaches on my more cartoony characters so this was fun to try. But also I have no idea what to do with the hair. Anywho. I was thinking of the Kirimvedar scene in particular.

Iceland was solid, great to see an upgrade from the nfs. Loved that they played into the Minecraft aesthetic!

Sweden solid production as always but I can't help thinking that them reducing the dancers by one made it worse. Also it's a performance that makes the biggest impact on first viewing so I'm just used to it, and taking the melfest version as a yardstick doesn't help

Belgium was sheer perfeeection. Loved the geometric camera movements, the monochromatic lights and the moment where Sebastian passes the dancers who follow him copying his movements, aaaaaaa

Croatia was an upgrade from the nf but it's still messy and feels like it lacks proper direction, I predict an nq

Poland - not as messy as I thought, that's a success

Estonia - I think Tommy was nervous and it showed. The wacky visuals are not my thing and I admit he got me with the staged stage invasion haha

Portugal - nothing special, peaceful ballad with nice minimalistic visuals but will ultimately get lost in the lineup

Azerbaijan - I liked the song but again, the staging doesn't match its atmosphere and somehow the singer has an awkward way of interacting with the camera

Albania - I was not left stunned? I think they're not winning sadly

Cyprus - if you didn't tell me I wouldn't guess the vitruvian man reference. But the metal bars idea is cool nonetheless and works well

Italy - why the dull color palette?

Switzerland - I would've introduced more movement in the first part but once the camera started moving and lights changing the effect was worth it. I hope they fix the cameras on Saturday
