When we talk about HTTYD people will see hiccup as the main dragon expert. But not even him can match Fishleg's hiperfocus, from way before the vikings allied with dragons.

To the point of annoying his friends (like laios), although he was well accepted among them (different from hiccup).

Hiccup himself had to ask him for a dragon species breakdown, and fishlegs was able to do it just by looking at a new dragon.

And after they became dragonriders, Fishlegs went full nerd with his dragon cards 🥰🥰

But, I don't think anyone on Berk would like the idea of eating monsters.

I‘m not impressed with his performance. It’s so obvious he’s just acting. Also they somehow made Fishlegs an asshole towards Hiccup, which is something OG Fishlegs would have never done in the original. He was too focused on Dragon facts and try to come out in one piece out of the arena. But hey assholy Fishlegs and ugly Meatlug that somehow fits together.
