“We all are seeing that new challenges are emerging from the events in the West Asia region. India has condemned the terrorist attack in Israel on October 7,” PM Modi said. “We have exercised restraint as well. We have given emphasis on dialogue and diplomacy. We also strongly condemn the deaths of civilians in the conflict between Israel and Hamas.”
“After talking to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, we have also sent humanitarian aid to the people of Palestine. This is the time when the countries of the Global South should unite for the greater global good,” he added.
The Global South refers to a collection of countries, primarily situated in the Southern Hemisphere in Asia, Africa and South America, with varied levels of economic development. While these countries do not share identical characteristics, they often grapple with common challenges such as poverty, inequality, and limited access to resources.
Over 1,200 Israelis, mostly civilians, were killed after the Palestinian group Hamas launched a sensational land-sea-air assault on October 7. In retaliation, Israel pounded the Gaza Strip — a Hamas stronghold — with airstrikes, killing over 11,000 people in the densely populated Palestinian enclave.
The Prime Minister advocated for a collaborative strategy guided by the ‘five Cs’ principles: consultation, communication, cooperation, creativity, and capacity building.
“I cannot forget that historic moment, when the African Union was inducted into G20 as a permanent member with India’s efforts,” PM Modi said.
India’s presidency of the G20 in 2023 witnessed the African Union’s accession as a permanent member of this esteemed group. The event marked the first expansion of the G20 since its inception in 1999, heralding a new era of inclusive global economic governance.

"men shit happens."
That's literally the most accurate take on global politics right now.
Like… Macron raising retirement age like we’re immortal.
Modi doing PR while cities choke and hugging and saluting rapists&murderers.
Netanyahu speedrunning real-life dystopia.
Putin cosplaying tsar. Biden blinkin’.
Some big red T "grab 'em by the-" yeah, busy speedrunning indictments like it's a sport-and gaining fans for it.
The world’s literally burning and these men are just—shidding. Loudly. Publicly.
Democracy? More like Dema-clownery.
At this point, I don’t want a revolution. I want to take a really long nap and wake up to everything alright.

PM Modi was one of the first global leaders to condemn the horrific terror attack on Israel by Hamas on October 7 and repeatedly expressed concerns over the deteriorating situation in Gaza. India also sent humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza as part of its commitment. In July, India released the first instalment of 2.5 million dollars to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency, UNRWA, for Palestine refugees for 2024-25.  Last month, UNRWA said people in Gaza are living in “inhumane” conditions. The agency said on the social media platform X that piles of waste are accumulating in central Gaza while sewage water is leaking into the streets. “Families have no choice but to live next to this accumulated waste, exposing them to foul odours and the imminent risk of a health disaster,” the UNWRA added.  The UN agency called for an immediate ceasefire. Meanwhile, Israel’s parliament has passed a law banning the UN Agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA), a move branded “outrageous” by the humanitarian organisation, Al Jazeera reported. The ban will significantly restrict UNRWA’s activities across occupied East Jerusalem and the occupied West Bank. The move comes as the 24-day Israeli siege of northern Gaza has killed more than 1,000 Palestinians, destroying neighbourhoods and wiping out entire families. [ad_2] Source link

ISRAEL GAZA STRATEGY
Tumblr media
It’s becoming difficult to predict the ‘end result’ in Gaza amidst Israel’s visible aversion and demotivation to arrive on any ceasefire agreement. Its stated goal is to “destroy Hamas” which is practically not in sight where Gaza’s toll has already crossed 40,000 in which almost half of them were children’s.
Let’s try to deconstruct this briefly, With Hamas’s TERRORIST ATTACK! On Oct. 7 (which killed more than 1000 Israelis, and taken many hostages) shows vulnerability in Israel’s impenetrable security net (incl. its intelligence gathering capability). But on the other side, this attack gave them an unprecedented opportunity I.e. a High moral ground to attack Gaza Strip in the garb of Self-defence and ‘Retribution’ to achieve some goals (because they were the victim this time).
Now what are the goals?
On deliberation, few probable options emerge for this prolonged operation (so called ‘war’) -
Due to Sunk cost fallacy - Maybe they started Gaza raid with retribution in mind against Hamas but with no end sight amidst huge cost of war, they are not able to find any honourable and justifying withdrawal.
Buffer space along with Gaza’s periphery - which may ensure their security post war (& now it extended to Lebanon aswell)
Force Migration - By huge no. of citizens toll to create fear among them and eventually pushed them out of the strip (like mass exodus during Gulf War!)
An exclusive land for Jews - It may be a long-sought dream of the past but any successful step in this direction works well for the personal gain of Netanyahu.
Personal gain of Netanyahu - He started this to take retribution against Hamas but with prolonged war, unsuccessful attempts in releasing hostages and thousands of civilian’s deaths, he may be charged with various war crimes globally and wide condemnation domestically if the war wouldn’t end with a favourable outcome for the Israelis. (As END JUSTIFY THE MEANS). So, this war is now more personal for him than anything else.
Purely Consequential reason – i.e. to prolong this war to get as much benefit as you can! before sitting on a negotiation table for Post war solution (like 2state solution) after the ceasefire. (because after that they may not get any opportunity to get these)
But this is not just about Israel, Gaza and Netanyahu, because of the ripple effect of this war, situation in West Asian theatre has already become tense which has affected the global Trade and food price as it is one of the major passage (accounted to almost 15% of sea borne trade) which resulted into high price of necessities (like food, clothes, medicine) especially for developing world (Global south) who are already facing the brunt of climate change.
Other than this, with surging multi directional confrontation with Iran, Lebanon(Hezbollah), Yemen(Houthi’s) & Hamas (AXIS OF RESISTANCE), there is a possibility of wider escalation which will not limit to just West Asia and could push whole world into the time of chaos.
As our PM Modi stated, “this is not the era of war”, and hence this conflict should be end here and now, which is only possible with wide global interference and consensus, Stationing UN SECURITY FORCES could be the initial step to ease Israel’s security dilemma as well as ensuring peace and timely support for Gazans and stability for rest of the region.

This meeting took place against the backdrop of the escalating humanitarian crisis in Gaza, exacerbated by the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict. PM Modi expressed his "deep concern" regarding the situation, reaffirming India’s commitment to supporting the Palestinian people.
Tumblr media
In a post on X, Modi shared insights from their meeting, stating, "Met President Mahmoud Abbas in New York. Reiterated India’s support for early restoration of peace and stability in the region. Exchanged views on further strengthening long-standing friendship with the people of Palestine."
Continued Support for Palestine
MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal echoed the Prime Minister's sentiments, emphasizing India's unwavering support for Palestine. He mentioned, “PM @narendramodi met H.E. Mahmoud Abbas, President of Palestine, on the sidelines of UNGA today. The demolition had sparked nationwide riots in which nearly 2,000 people died. The temple fulfils a decades-long Hindu nationalist pledge to build a shrine to Lord Ram in the flashpoint city. But some Hindu seers and most of the opposition are staying away, saying Mr Modi is using it for political gains. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday rejected conditions presented by Hamas to end the war and release hostages that would include Israel's complete withdrawal and leaving Hamas in power in Gaza. BREAKING NEWS: Maldives messed with India. And now it is paying the price!! In case you didn’t know, India recently announced that it will withdraw its troops from Maldives after pro-China President Muhammad Muizzu, who campaigned on a ‘India Out’ platform, called for the same. In contrast, India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, recently visited and promoted the tourist destination of Lakshadwep in a highly positive manner, in an effort to boost tourism to the UT without criticising the Maldives. However, Maldivian ministers thought otherwise. Two of them criticized India’s goals while Minister Mariyam Shiuna directly insulted PM Modi, calling him a clown and a puppet of Israel!!!! (India was among the first to send aid to Gaza and has always voted for a ceasefire. So how is it supporting Israel?) This sparked strong criticism from celebrities and other influential figures on social media, leading to the trending hashtag ‘Boycott Maldives’ as Indians started cancelling their trips right away! EaseMyTrip, one of the world’s largest travel companies, announced that it would be cancelling all flights to and from the Maldives in support of India! In addition, the owner of the Taj hotels chain, IHCL, has declared the opening of 2 mega resorts in the state ofLakshadweep for tourism purposes in the UT!!! With 2.5-3 lakh Indian tourists visiting the Maldives every year, Indians are the largest tourist group to the Maldives. Moreover, India has helped the Maldives in defence, education, and finance since 1988!! Can the Maldives survive a diplomatic war against India?? - Kashmiris definitely deserve their freedom. hence, POK must be handed over to India since Jammu and Kashmir is a part of India since 1947. Kashmiri Pandits must also be given their land back since they had flee their homeland during the 1990s genocide of the Kashmiri Pandits.
- Hindutva is not serving zionisim. Standing up for your own religion doesn't make you a zionist.
- Modi was tried for his crimes in the Supreme Court of India and was released since there was no complicit evidence against him. Israel and India having friendly relations didn't stop India from being one of the first few countries to send humanitarian aid to Gaza multiple times. You conveniently forget to mention the whole riot started because of the burning of the train that carried a large number of Hindus.
- If you researched enough before making this post, you would know that India follows a 'no first use' policy and is the one of the only 2 countries that follow. You seem like the person who will blame India for retaliating after Pakistan nukes India.
- The terrorists involved are from TRF, believed to be an off-shoot of LeT. LeT is based in Pakistan. It has its headquarters in Pakistan and has been operating in Pakistan since 1985. India did not bomb civilian areas. It bombed terror bases and has provided evidence for the same in the briefings. If civilians were killed, you need to question their presence in the terror bases, not blame India. Pakistanis have posted videos on Twitter of them living life normally, proving that India hasnt bombed civilian areas, unlike Pakistan. Even if Pakistan had nothing to do with this attack, India has the right to retaliate after suffering from the terror attacks initiated by Pakistan for 78 years. Their defense minister goes on international media and accepts the fact they have been sheltering terrorists for 30 years. Their ex-pm says that there are more than 50 terrorist groups that are active in Pakistan. Pakistan starting shelling in Poonch and targeted civilian areas including a Gurudwara, which resulted in the deaths of many people. Do you think that's fair?
- Islamophobia may exist in other countries, but not India. Please take that argument else where. In India, the population of Muslims has been increasing since the Partition. Muslims are in all fields and have held several top positions in different fields. Why is there a decline in the population of Hindus in Pakistan since 1947? Why aren't Hindus allowed to hold top positions in the country? It is banned by their constitution. Please educate yourself better.
- Hindus don't believe in forced conversions. We are taught to live and let live. We are taught patience. India is a secular country because Hindus are in the majority. We have seen what happens if Muslims are in the majority. Pakistan and Bangladesh are good examples.
- Standing up for your country is being patriotic. It's being grateful for the armed forces for sacrificing their lives to keep us safe in the mainland. You love to bring Islamophobia into everything don't you? Yet you forget that the Khans are one of the highest paid actors and have a massive fan following.
- Pakistan is not Palestine. A country that has had independence for 78 years, has NUCLEAR POWER and has been funding terrorists for many decades cannot be the victim. Stop saying that they are similar.
just wanna say that
- the kashmiris deserve to be free and always have deserved their freedom. nothing will ever negate this.
- this all stems from the british partitioning our land without any consideration for the pre-existing people who resided there
- hindutva is serving zionism and the bozo indian nationalists are actually vile.
- modi aka the butcher of gujarat (who was banned from the usa for some time bc of the cruelties he committed to the gujarati muslims) has been emboldened by the complicity the world has shown to the obvious war crimes his friend netanyahu is committing in palestine
- pakistan and india are both nuclear powers. this is extremely dangerous for everyone involved, ESPECIALLY the innocent civilians.
- india has no evidence that pakistan funded or was behind the pahalgam attacks, and yet they chose to bomb civilian areas including masjids . there is nothing that can justify this, even pakistan was involved of the attack. this is very reminiscent of october 7.
- islamophobia is very very prevalent in this situation. be mindful of the sources you consume. islamophobia is rooted in hinduvta and pro india sentiments.
- most of your favorite bollywood celebrities are posting ab “operation sindoor yayyy jai hind” they are ignorant, nationalist people who do not care about muslims. islamophobia has also always been prevalent in bollywood as well.
i am indian, but i am a muslim first. i do not ever support the indian government, especially modi.
