Charming Eternity - Chapter 22

A/N: So as the chapter summary suggests there's exposition in this chapter.Italics are just lines from the previous chapter to give some context. (Gif is what Maeve’s BoS looks like cause I love the way the Charmed BoS look.)

Chapter Sum: Maeve and Calcifer give an impromptu exposistional lesson to the boys.

“I told you, you’re not the only one who can do mind games.” She shrugged. David suddenly smirked.

“Think I got an idea boys,” he said as he glanced around at them before settling his smirk on her.

“Oh boy.” 

Cal hissed up at him to which he merely smirked. Maeve walked over and picked up Cal before putting him down towards the top of her bed. He hissed again. 

“Cal. Be civil or I’m putting you back outside.” He let out a low noise but sat down. “Alright, I think I know what you’re thinking,” Maeve said as she turned to David. “Which gives me my own idea. If it’s gonna work I'm gonna need a few things from you all.” She walked over to her desk, motioning for David to move over - which he didn’t - and reached past him for something in one of the drawers of the desk. “Really?” She asked, turning her head to look at him, almost nose to nose with him. He smirked at her, not moving. She stood up straight and they saw she had four small vials each with cork stoppers.

“What do you need?” Dwayne asked, raising an eyebrow.

 “Bit of blood, a lock of hair, and I need to touch your minds.”

“Take me out to dinner first,” Paul said, putting a hand to his chest.

“What’s this idea of yours?” David asked as he watched her grab a marker and mark a line on each vial about half an inch from the bottom.

“Sam isn’t going to listen to me, the Frogs won’t listen to me, and I have an idea of what their plan will be. After they fail to prove Max is a vampire tomorrow night, Michael will probably tell them you’re the head,” Maeve said as she motioned to David. “They’ll probably take matters into their own hands.”

“They’re just kids,” Marko said with a scoff. “What could they do to us?”

“They’re not stupid,” Maeve said with a frown as she shook her head. “Just…” She held out the vials to David who then tossed them out to the other three. “I could’ve done that,” Maeve muttered and ignored his chuckle. 

“What’re you gonna do with this stuff?” Paul asked as he yanked a hair from Marko who slapped his hand.

“Ow!” Marko pulled one from him.

“Hey!”

“Boys!” They looked to Maeve as she held up a pair of scissors by the blades. “I need more than just one.” She handed the scissors to David first. “I’ll need a day or so to prepare but when everything’s set I’ll explain.” David motioned Dwayne over and the brunette moved to kneel beside him so David could clip a lock of hair. He held it up to Maeve with an eyebrow raised. 

“Enough?”

“Perfect.” Maeve nodded. She reached under her bed and pulled out a large leather bound book which she placed on her bed before sitting down criss cross. David handed the scissors to Dwayne who proceeded to take a clip of David’s. Once the planimum strands were in the vial he pulled off his glove and proceeded to use a nail to make a cut in his hand to fill the vial to the line. 

“So… you’re a witch, right?” Marko asked as he moved to sit across from her. She opened the book in her lap but tilted it so he couldn’t see anything. “That’s the term?” Maeve nodded.

“Mhm.” Dwayne walked over to Marko who reached for the scissors but they were immediately held up out of his reach. Marko rolled his eyes and let Dwayne take a clipping.

“And Cal,” Marko continued as he pointed to the cat who had moved to sit beside Maeve. “Is a… wizard then?”

“Dude!” Paul suddenly exclaimed. “You should be a Cal-i-co!” He burst out laughing at his own joke as he kneeled at the end of the bed, putting his arms on the bed to Marko’s right. Cal let out a low noise.

“Cal is a familiar; he can’t change into anything other than a black cat.”

“Familiar?” Marko asked as he reached out to put a hand on Paul’s head to hold him still while Dwayne got the lock of his hair; Paul pouted up at the curly haired blond.

“A being who was a witch in a past life but was chosen to guide another witch,” Maeve explained.

“Wait, Cal’s a girl?” Paul blinked. Cal started to walk over to the end of the bed and Maeve quickly scooped him up to put him back further from the blond.

“No. Witch is the general term. A Warlock is an ‘evil’ witch,” Maeve said with air quotes. “And a wizard is just what some male witches go by to avoid that confusion.” She motioned towards Paul. 

“If you’re a witch, why can’t you just go kill Max?” Marko asked. Maeve closed the book in her lap, placing it on the bed, before getting up and moving across the room to her bookshelf.

“Because there are rules,” she said as she scanned the books.” Until he actively endangers me or my family, as in trying to actually kill me, not just threats… I can’t kill him,” Maeve said as she picked out a book and opened it.

“Says who?” David asked.

“Says the ones who have the power to take away mine,” she muttered as she put the book back, moving to her closet. The boys heard clinking and she turned back with a few jars and vials with various things in them.

“Huh?” Paul cocked his head to one side.

“Unlike you lot, Maeve actually has to follow a set of rules with her powers,” Calcifer said.

“Dude!” Paul whirled around to see him now in his human form sitting cross legged on the bed, not having moved. “Don’t just do that!”

“Set of rules?” David asked as he quirked an eyebrow up at the things she placed on the desk. He reached out and picked up one looking at the powder inside. Maeve took it back from him and gave him a frown as she put it back down.

“Killings by witches have to be justified, not just used as a precaution to possible harm,” Calcifer said as he rolled his eyes.

“Why do you think I went with mind games back at Max’s house? Never intended on killing any of you,” Maeve said. “Stop it,” she said, taking another jar away from David as he looked through them.

“What would happen if you did kill someone?” Dwayne asked. 

“A summons and the risk of losing my magic depending on the circumstances.” She shrugged. “Of course it’s completely different in this situation.”

“Fuckin’ unfair is what it is, Max doesn’t follow any rules,” Calcifer grumbled.

“Wait, we have rules?” Paul asked.

“Duh, we all do, otherwise it would be absolute chaos, but Max has ties with someone higher up and therefore it’s all been ignored here.”

“Higher up?” Marko asked as he glanced up.

“Not that high,” Maeve said with a chuckle. “I did some digging and-” Calcifer cleared his throat. “Fine, Cal did some digging and found out his brother was able to pretty much give Max Santa Carla. As long as Max and any of his sires stay here he faces no consequences for whatever happens here.”

“So Santa Carla is a free for all for Max, why do you have to follow rules?”

“Because I’m not a vampire. I don’t answer to his brother. Everyone has a-” She shrugged. “representative they each answer to. A vampire can’t tell a witch what they can or can’t do anymore than they can tell a vampire. However since his brother has a lot of sway with the rest of them there’s only so much that would be done for me.”

“Wait, the rest of them?” Paul asked. 

“What, you think it’s just vampires, witches, and familiars?” Calcifer asked. “Imagine how boring that would be,” he muttered.

“Why didn’t Max tell us about any of this?” David asked.

“Because you’re not affected by any of it. Never wondered why Max said you can’t ever leave Santa Carla?” Calcifer asked and watched as the four frowned.

“Technically, no one else is really supposed to come to Santa Carla either, so long as Max follows the no leaving rule,” Maeve said. “But since Lucy and the others were moving down here they made an exception for me… as they have anytime I’ve visited Grandpa. Of course the rules then were I could only go out in the day and had to stay here til sun up,” she said before any of them could ask why they had never seen her before. “Had to jump through a few hoops and sign a few things but I wasn’t going to let my family move so close to a vampire.”

“So long as Max plays nice Mae can’t touch him,” Calcifer snarled. “And with his brother being the one on his side if something happened to him she’d be investigated thoroughly. The slightest hint she had anything to do with it and poof,” Calcifer said as he made a hand motion.

“Poof?” Marko asked.

“No more powers, Cal’s a cat again,” Maeve said with a deep frown and a shrug. “Guilty by association.”

“But you just said vampires aren’t in charge of witches,” David pointed out.

“You don’t think Max’s brother wouldn’t pull strings?” Calcifer asked.

“Rules are a bit different when one of us kills another of a different kind, just like it’s different between me killing another witch or a mortal,” Maeve said. “And in this case it’s a family thing.”

“This is too fucking complicated,” Paul muttered. 

“Wait, so you knew Max was here and the head before you got here?” Marko asked as he looked between the two.

“Wait mortal?” Paul asked as what she said finally clicked.

“One question at a time. Paul, yeah mortal, humans, we’re neither.” She motioned between her and Calcifer. “Besides the whole being a cat thing, Cal’s actually from the 1700‘s.”

“Correction, I died in the 1700’s, 1692 to be exact,” he added under his breath. “Only been a familiar since Mae was about five. Familiars choose their witches at which point they gain their abilities and are no longer considered a boring human.” Maeve gave him a look and he flashed a smile.

“And Marko, I knew he was here, not who he was or even about you four,” Maeve said.

“Max doesn’t exactly submit his updates for the monthly newsletter,” Calcifer said. Paul opened his mouth to question but Maeve held up her hand.

“There’s no newsletter, he’s messing with you,” Maeve said. “Like I said before, whenever I came to visit Grandpa I only went out during the day. Max wasn’t made aware of me, if he was then he would’ve already known what I was.”

“Might be brothers but that doesn’t mean he’s gotta tell ‘im everything,” Calcifer said. 

“What would’ve happened if you had killed us?” David asked.

“I wasn’t going to,” Maeve reminded him. He motioned for her to say anyway. “Honestly? Nothing.”

“What?” Paul frowned.

“There’s no record of you.” Maeve shrugged.

“What, like we have to register when we turn?” Paul asked with a laugh but it faded as both Maeve and Calcifer nodded.

“You’re kidding,” Marko said.

“Max was given free reign here, meaning he can do whatever he wants here so long as it doesn’t affect anyone outside of Santa Carla,” Maeve said. “That includes siring without telling anyone. There’s usually a whole process.”

“Yes, random impulse siring is generally frowned upon,” Calcifer said.

“You kill Max… does that mean we’ll have to start following rules?” Paul asked.

“She. Can’t. Kill. Him,” Calcifer said, slowly as if talking to a child.

“I prefer you as a cat,” Paul muttered. Calcifer’s eyes turned gold with slits as he held up a clawed hand. “Geez dude!” Paul moved away from him quickly.

“Cal,” Maeve said. She let out a sigh. “Okay, it’s late, I’m tired, Cal’s tired-” Calcifer growled. “and I have to start working on this tomorrow.” She held up one of the vials. "The mind touching comes later and, til we finish this, you boys have to stay away from me."

"I thought you weren't mad at us anymore," Paul whined.

"How do you think it would look to Max if we were suddenly buddy buddy again after what happened at his house tonight? He has to keep thinking I hate you."

"You don't though… right?" Marko asked.

"No, sweetheart, I don't hate you." He grinned.

"I think I'm gonna need some reassurance," Paul said with a pout. Maeve rolled her eyes as she walked up to him. She grabbed him with her hands on the back of his neck before she pulled him down for a long chaste kiss. His arms pulled her closer as he nipped at her bottom lip. She pulled away.

"Assured enough?" 

"No, I think you should assure me with everyone else gone," he said with a wink. Calcifer made a gagging noise.

"Alright, keep it in your pants," David said as he rolled his eyes, grabbing Paul by the back of his jacket to pull him away towards the window. "Let's go boys." Marko opened the window and climbed out, sitting on the ledge.

"See ya Mae," he said before dropping down. Paul threw her a wink before jumping out. Dwayne gave her a nod before diving out after him. David turned to Maeve and held her chin, making her look up at him.

"Yeah?" she asked. He grinned at her before leaning down to capture her lips, they both ignored the noise of disgust from Calcifer. As he pulled away he smirked down at her. “Really?” She shook her head but smiled up at him. “I’ll send Ciri with instructions tomorrow night after Max leaves.”

“Be careful,” he murmured, using the thumb of the hand holding her chin to gently brush her cheek.

“Oh my fuckin’ gods go home,” Calcifer groaned as he lay back on the bed. David rolled his eyes before joining the others out the window. 

A/N: I've come up with my own thing about laws/rules in relation to this fic's world. I didn't look into the Lost Boys sequals to see if anything was similar or if those movies stated anything about similar laws/rules with vampires and/or other supernatural beings. The only thing that's canon (I'm pretty sure) is who Max's brother is/that Max has a brother which I'm pretty sure is only stated in the comics. I could be wrong.

Ian joined his husband at the window of their house, watching the snow fall from the soot black sky.

“Heh, looks like winter came a day early. Wanna Rock Paper Scissors for snow-shovelling duty?” the wizard offered, already raising his closed fist to stomach level.

Paul gave his usual quiet laugh to his husband before stating “The fact that you turned thirty two months ago is both the funniest and scariest thing ever to me”, pulling himself further into one of their shared hoodies (Ian’s hoodies, in truth, but that never stopped him before).

“Well, it could’ve been worse. It could’ve been my brother turning thirty two months back”. Paul could definitely agree with that. Rex had been distraught enough when he turned twenty-five, and the sight of him at thirty did not bear thinking about.

“It’s hard to imagine how we were ten years ago. I mean, so much has changed since then! You being a wizard, me and Kate, the house…” he pondered, reflecting on the past decade.

“Well, we’re still together, thankfully! And, of course, there’s Franz, too”. As if on cue, the round brown rat popped out from his place in Ian’s hoodie pocket and clambered his way up the magician’s arm and onto his shoulder, sniffing his beard with great interest.

Paul looked down at his closed hand for a moment, as if lost in deep thought, before raising it to his husband’s stomach level and asking “Best of three?”

“Thought you’d never ask”

The next morning was filled with the sounds of a very cold wizard, grumpy but still deeply in love, shovelling snow after losing 3-0.

After Salem AU

In the final battle with Salem the heroes combine the power Ruby’s silver eyes with that of all four maidens to purge her of the Grimm essence and manage to get her to admit that she’s moved on from her daughters deaths resulting in her losing her immortality. Aging thousands of years in seconds she was soon dust. However before her defeat Salem managed to unite the four relics. The Brothers had returned. Displeased by the conflict still existing they were about to judge humanity as irredeemable when the heroes convinced them that humanity was not that far gone. Listening to their argument the Brothers agreed that humanity was neither worthy of them returning nor did they deserve extermination. Thus they returned to the stars. Before leaving however the God of Darkness left a gift. One in every five hundred babies born after this day would have the gift of magic. In time the four maidens would create the Seasons Academy to teach these new magic users how to use their gifts. Magic users have weaker semblances so the scales are not too unbalanced. Magic users are given the title of Wizard or Witch and act like Huntsmen, protecting the people of Remnant from the always present danger of the Grimm. The Huntsmen Academies lowered the age requirements after Salem’s final plan involved destroying many of the minor academies. In the following years much has changed. One such change is that Menagerie is now an official kingdom. Technology has advanced at a rapid pace, trains using anti gravity technology connect most cities. As a result trips that would have taken days now take a matter of hours. Due to this more and more cities rise outside the kingdom borders. The heroes of team RWBY and JNOR and their allies have all begun new lives after the fall of Salem.

Ruby and Oscar are married with four children. Ruby now runs Petal Storm, a weapon repair and modification store with Nora while Oscar writes books about the past Ozes.

Maria Pine-18 Lyme Pine-16 Sunny (M) and Luna (F) Pine-12 year old twins. They don’t possess magic or have silver eyes but their parents have made it very clear they love them all the same. Especially after they learned about Maria’s insecurities. Sunny and Luna have reached the phase where they want to be individuals instead of just one half of twins. Recently they unlocked their semblances. Sunny can sense aura and Luna can read body language. Based on Apollo and Artemis.

Blake and Yang are married with two adopted children. Blake works to help Faunus equality across Remnant while Yang helps design and test new vehicles for the SDC. Tawny Belladonna-Xiao Long-18 Vivi Belladonna-Xiao Long-17

Weiss and Jaune are married with three children. Weiss took over SDC and is working to undo the damage done by her father while Jaune teaches combat at a local academy.

Nichole Schnee-19 Maple Schnee- 13- Named in honor of Pyrrha. She inherited her mother’s singing voice and has a huge love of music. In fact she wants to enter the music industry rather than become a Huntress. To her relief her parents told her they’d support whatever decision she made. William Schnee- 10- A curious young boy with an interest in science. He loves touring the various SDC research labs with his mother. He discovers his semblance allows him to summon defeated Grimm and possess them. This does leave his body vulnerable.

Ren and Nora are married with three children. Ren is the mayor of a rebuilt Kuroyuri while Nora runs Petal Storm, a weapon repair and modification store with Ruby.

Lie Balder-17 Lie Nezha-16 Lie Sif-15

The headmasters remain a part of Oscar’s inner circle however with the fall of Salem their mission is now to continue to guide all of Remnant into everlasting peace and preventing future disasters.

Beacon

Headmistress- Glynda Goodwitch- The first headmistress of Beacon. Once Beacon was rebuilt the decision to name her headmistress was unanimous. 

History- Dr Bartholomew Oobleck- Still his energetic self always eager to share knowledge with anyone willing to learn.

Grimm Studies- Peter Port- Still bombastic and passing on his wisdom and experience. Head of Security- Gordon Ryder- Gordon’s semblance allows him to create orbs of aura that act as his eyes and ears. He is capable of creating multiple orbs and has them placed around the boundaries of the campus. However while keeping track of them he often loses track of what’s happening around his own body.

Origin- The Headless Horseman

Combat Instructor- Paulina “Babe” Bunyan- A bull faunus, her semblance allows her to spot the weak point in things or people which allowed her to help her lumberjack father when she was a child.

Origin- Paul Bunyan

Airship Piloting- Skye Gale- When he was younger his hubris caused an airship crash that nearly killed him. After recovering he set forward to teach others to learn from his mistake.

Origin- Icarus.

Wilderness Survival - Forest Mann- The son of explorers who perished during a jungle expedition his semblance and basic wilderness training allowed him to survive. His semblance allows him to copy the traits of nearby animals. After making it back to civilization years later he began teaching others how to survive the wilderness.

Origin- Mowgli/Tarzan

Maria Pine- Growing up Maria couldn’t help but feel like she was in the shadow of heroes and legends and as a result she grew insecure. Her desire to prove herself “worthy” eventually results in her being injured on a training mission. After that she admits her insecurity to her parents and her team who help her grow past it and see her own self worth. Like her father Maria can use magic. Appearance: 18 years old. 5ft 8in- Brown hair to shoulders Hazel eyes Outfit: Light red top with maroon corset. maroon shorts. Light red tights with green vine design, roses on knees. Maroon fingerless gloves up to elbows. Green vine design on gloves. Maroon boots. Half length version of Ruby’s cloak in maroon. Emblem: Three roses on a single stem, one white, one red and one maroon Emblem Location: Back of cloak Aura Color: Maroon Semblance: Stat Boost- Allows Maria to boost a single stat (speed, strength, stamina, etc) Weapon: Rose’s Thorn- Kusarigama with extending chain. Gun built into the end.  Partner: Nautica Waves Origin: Rose Red Nautica Waves- The daughter of fishermen she grew up on the water most of her life. Resourceful and daring, she won’t give up until all options have been exhausted. Appearance: 19 years old. 5ft 6in. Short dark blue hair. Blue eyes. Shark Faunus- Shark gills allowing her to breathe under water. Outfit: Teal wetsuit with wave pattern, armor plating on shoulders, elbows, knees, torso. Optional flippers. Emblem: A series of waves descending in size Emblem Location: Shoulder armor Aura Color: Teal Semblance: Hydrokinesis- Can control water as long as it’s in liquid form. Can even shape weapons out of it. The more water she controls the more aura it takes. Weapon: Ebb and Flow- Twin pistols modified to shoot water. Using her semblance she can boost the power of the water to the point it can cut through metal. Carries a dagger called Shark’s tooth as a back up. After a few missions begins using a harpoon as her main weapon to conserve on water. Partner: Maria Pine Origin: The Little Mermaid Theo Schwartz- Due to a less than stellar home situation he attempts to defuse tense situations with humor. He believes in being prepared and carries many tools and items in his hat including a set of throwing knives, tents, medical kits, food and water. Not to mention his team’s ammo. Appearance: 18 years old. 5ft 9in. Short black hair. Green eyes. Cat Faunus- Cat whiskers. Outfit: Black pants. White shirt with black dress coat. Red bow tie. Tall hat with red and white stripes. Emblem: A hand reaching into a hat Emblem Location: Back of coat Aura Color: Ebony Semblance: Hat Trick- A pocket dimension inside his hat where he can store and retrieve any inorganic item he wants. Weapon: Cat’s Cane-  A hook style cane with a built in grappling hook and gun. Partner: York Letterson Origin: The Cat in the Hat York Letterson- A firm believer in the phrase “Knowledge is power” York is almost always reading. He is eager to learn and teach as much as he can and often volunteers to tutor other students. When he has free time he can often be found in the library. Appearance: 18 years old. 5ft 5in. Long green hair reaching down his back. Often in twin ponytails. Green eyes. Outfit: Dark green pants. Light green button up top with a pocket on the upper left breast. Dark green armor over the shirt with light green pads on arms and legs. Pair of reading glasses. Emblem: A head of lettuce Emblem Location: Shirt pocket Aura Color: Green Semblance: Prehensile Hair- Can control and use his hair as weapons or extra arms. In a pinch can even shoot strands like darts. If the hair is cut it will regrow to normal length within days due to all the aura inside it. Weapon: Close Shave- A pair of blades with gun barrels in the tips. Blades can be combined into a scissors form. In scissors mode it can be thrown like a boomerang. Partner: Theo Schwartz Origin: Rapunzel

Nichole Schnee- From a young age her parents made sure she knew that her name made her no more important and no better than anyone else. She is kind and generous and always looking for ways to help others with the Schnee fortune. She’s very aware there’s still plenty of damage to undo from her grandfather. In battle she will often target powerful or unique Grimm to add to her semblance. Appearance: 19 years old. 5ft 10in. Long light blue hair in double ponytails. Light blue eyes. Outfit: Light blue dress with white fur pattern trim. Dress ends little above knees. Blue and white stripped stockings. Light blue boots. White gloves. Armored breastplate, armor on lower arms and shins. All armor is ice themed. Emblem: Schnee snowflake with a sword resembling the sword part of Crocea Mors Emblem Location: Knee and elbow armor Aura Color: Light blue Semblance: Grimm Aspects- She summons pieces of Grimm to use herself. She can call on the wings of a Teryx or a Nevermore, the claws of a Sabyr, the armor of an Arms Gigas, punching power of a Beringel. Like normal summons if they receive enough damage they’ll dissipate. Weapon: Cyros- Icicle themed javelin that doubles as a rifle. The shield part of Crocea Mors. Partner: Guile Widows Origin: Christmas Elf Guile Widows- A cunning strategist who excels at using his enemies own actions against them. He prefers to lure targets into his webs and let them tire themselves out trying to escape. Appearance: 19 years old. 6ft. Black hair with eight dreadlocks, four on each side. Brown eyes. Outfit: Black cargo pants with a mild webbing pattern. Gray shirt with black straps from backpack forming an “X”. Fingerless gloves. Emblem: Eight eyes, top pair are farthest apart and bottom pair are closest together. Emblem Location: Bandana Aura Color: Black Semblance: Aura Webs- Webs that can catch, contain, or even act as nets. Weapon: Spider’s Bite- Twin curved swords with guns in the hilts. Partner: Nichole Schnee Origin: Anansi Hunter Python- Strict and serious he considers being a huntsman too serious to joke about. To his dismay his partner Tawny has made it his mission to get him to laugh at least once a day. Hunter is very reluctant to use his semblance due to its nature. However if lives are at stake he will do so with frightening effect. Appearance: 18 years old. 5ft 11in. Brown hair. Snake Faunus- Snake eyes, yellow with green pupils. Outfit: Green boots with a snake skin pattern. Yellow-green cargo pants. Yellow shirt under a green hoodie. Yellow-Green armor with scale pattern over hoodie. Very self conscious about her appearance after bullies at the orphanage convinced her that her birth parents abandoned her because she was ugly. Her mothers and brother spent years trying to get her to understand that she is beautiful on the inside and the outside. After being named a team leader she gradually gains self confidence. Jim Peaches- Analytical and strategic he is highly skilled at coming up with plans that utilize the strengths of his teams. Shiro Shishi- When Shiro was a child his uncle a crime boss named Kuro Shishi decided to cut loose ends. After personally stabbing Shiro’s father Kin Shishi in the back he sent a trio of assassins after Shiro, leaving the boy for dead. Fortunately a pair of drifters rescued the boy and helped him recover. The pair were retired huntsmen and they trained him until he was accepted to Beacon. Patterning himself after ancient warriors he read about as a boy Shiro is honorable, courageous, and a great leader in battle. He does however have a bad habit of starting inspirational speeches when they aren’t required. Appearance: 15 years old. 5ft 2in. White hair and golden eyes. Lion Faunus. Lion’s mane. Outfit: White samurai armor with golden accents. Armor has a lion theme. The current Maidens

Spring- Raven Branwen- After the battle of Haven Raven lost everything, her tribe lost all respect for her, Taiyang rejected her, she had nowhere to go. Eventually she decided she needed to redeem herself and began spying on Salem’s forces delivering vital intel to the heroes.

Summer- July Storms- When the heroes arrived in Vacuo they befriended sisters June and July Storms. They soon discovered that June was the Summer Maiden. During a battle with Cinder June stayed behind to buy the others time to escape. Once they were safe she called down a bolt of lightning to kill her before the powers could be stolen. Her sister was the last one in her thoughts so July gained the powers and has been the Summer Maiden ever since.

Autumn- Emerald Sustrai- In a fit of rage Cinder revealed that she never truly cared for Emerald as anything more than a pawn. Broken Emerald fled Salem’s fortress with Mercury. They joined the heroes to save their own lives from Salem and Cinder’s wrath. During a battle Emerald used her semblance to distract Cinder long enough for Ruby and Jaune to kill her. Her last thoughts were of Emerald so the power of Autumn went to her.

Winter- Penny Polendina- After the fall of Ironwood many Atlesian soldiers who were loyal to him and the ideal that “Atlas Will Prevail” deserted and formed an underground cell known as the Frozen Soldiers. Lead by Harriet now known as Snow Hare (the only Ace-Op who refused to surrender) they will stop at nothing to bring down the other Kingdoms. Penny has devoted much time and effort into stopping their plans.

Mortimer Mono- Mortimer was the first child publicly known to have magic after the God of Darkness returned it to the world. As such he became a celebrity and the first student of the Maidens. He’s since become a student teacher and often joins teams in the field. Appearance:  21 years old 6ft 2in. Short black hair, blue eyes. Outfit: Yellow boots, long red pants. White shirt with black jacket over it. White gloves. Other Teams

Team ARMR is among the best Huntsmen teams in all of Remnant. Lead by Adrian Cotta-Arc their biggest claim to fame was protecting a village from a stampede of Goliaths. Team ARMR is a team many students at the academies wish to be like one day. Off the battle field the team enjoys a mutual romantic relationship with each other. Adrian Cotta-Arc- The leader of Team ARMR Adrian gained the nickname “The Golden Knight” from his semblance’s appearance. He forged his twin swords himself seeking to follow his uncle’s example. Appearance: 23 years old, 6ft 2in. Short black hair, brown eyes. Outfit: Tan cargo pants with silver shirt. Gold and silver armor along legs, chest and arms. Emblem: Two swords crossed over a shield Emblem Location: Center of armor Aura Color: Gold Semblance: Aura Armor- Turns his aura into solid golden armor Weapon: Wave Cutter and Stone Splitter- Twin blades with a gun in the tip. The blades can combine to form the King’s Blade. King’s Blade can be a great sword or a double bladed sword. Partner: Gwendy Roots Origin:  King Arthur Gwendy Roots- A free spirited squirrel faunus who is at home in the treetops. Gwendy loves nature and is often bothered by how much progress tends to invade it. Appearance:  24 years old, 6ft. Long brown hair in braids. Hazel eyes. Squirrel tail. Appearance:  23 years old. 5ft 8in. Purple hair in a pixie cut, yellow eyes. Outfit: Purple sleeveless sundress with striped purple stockings. Long purple gloves with star pattern. Emblem: Shooting star Emblem Location: Stockings Aura Color: Purple Semblance: Astral projection- She can project her spirit outside of her body, however it is immaterial and cannot cross a certain distance from her body. Weapon: Shooting Star- A scepter she uses to focus her magic Partner: Lance Riverson Origin: Merlin Lance Riverson- Lance was jealous of Adrian at first due to him being named leader and receiving the credit for victories. In time however he grew to respect Adrian for his strategy and strength. Eventually he confessed how he felt and the team entered their mutual relationship. Appearance:  24 years old. 6ft 5in. Long blue hair to shoulders. Blue eyes. Outfit: Cobalt pants with chainmail sections over it. Cobalt short sleeve shirt with chainmail over it and chainmail sleeves. Team MNMT A team of Huntsmen permanently stationed in Mountain Glenn to defend those excavating/rebuilding it. Montgomery Sarsen- An older huntsman from Atlas who picked this job as a sort of working retirement. To his dismay it’s more work than retirement. Appearance: 40 years old 6ft 2in. Short gray hair. Brown eyes Outfit: Light gray vest with dark gray top underneath. Gray cargo shorts with brown boots. Emblem: Stacked stones Emblem Location: Back of vest Aura Color: Gray Semblance: Stone Avatar- Channels power through stone to create hands and arms, at strongest can create stone avatars to fight alongside him. Weapon: Drill Dagger- Drill like sword that rotates. Two dust cartridges can be inserted at once for a spiral effect. Origin: Stonehenge

Nubia Sandstone- A young huntress from Vacuo who grew up exploring ruins and imagining what the people who lived there were like. She enjoys helping the excavating process.

Appearance: 24 years old 5ft 6in. Brown hair in braids. Brown eyes. Outfit: Yellow Crop Top with Yellow shorts. White body wraps cover most of her torso and parts of her arms and legs. Emblem: A symbol resembling the Eye of Horus Emblem Location: Both legs of her shorts Aura Color: Sandy Yellow Semblance: Sandstorm- Allows her to control sand, she cannot create sand so she carries jars of it. Weapon: Shifting Sands- A staff that doubles as whip. Has a gun built into the tip. Origin: Pyramids

Frida Mint- A huntress from Vale with a background in engineering. She volunteered for this assignment to help rebuild the city better and safer than before.

Appearance: 27 years old 5ft 4in. Light green hair in ponytail, dark green eyes. Outfit: Spiked tiara. Green sandals, light green dress with dark green cloak over it. Emblem: A burning torch Emblem Location: Back of cloak Aura Color: Mint green Semblance: Pyro- Can control and manipulate flames but cannot produce them Weapon: Scorch Torch- A torch infused with fire dust that converts into a gun that shoots fire dust bullets. Origin: Statue of Liberty Ta-Kai Zongse- A huntsman from Mistral who is the descendant of some of the lucky few who managed to escape from the doomed city in its final days. He volunteered for the assignment in hopes of finding closure for the family left behind. Appearance: 19 years old 5ft 5in. Light brown short hair, brown eyes Outfit: Brown boots with dark brown shorts. Button up light brown top. Emblem: Wall Emblem Location: Back of shirt Aura Color: Light brown Semblance: Barrier Wall- Creates walls of aura. August 7, 2017 From the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada Your hosts are Michael Cole, Corey Graves, and Booker T

Miz TV kicks off the show. Miz tells the crowd that he is not in the mood and that the show will not begin until he gets what he wants, which is for Jason Jordan to come out right now. Miz says he is tired of being cheap-shotted on his own show and wants to finish what Jordan started last week. However, Kurt Angle comes out and says that Jordan will not be a guest on his show tonight because he’ll be facing Curtis Axel. Angle then says he has a guest for Miz that will exceed expectations as Brock Lesnar & Paul Heyman come out to the ring as the crowd goes nuts. Miz tells Heyman when his hand goes up his mouth goes shut as Heyman smiles and tosses the microhpone before Miz goes on about Lesnar being guaranteed to lose at SummerSlam. Miz then questions who will walk out of SummerSlam as the Universal Champion as Lesnar does not have to be pinned in order to lose the title. Miz also brings up how Heyman said they will leave the WWE if Lesnar does not walk out of SummerSlam as the champion and will put his money on anyone but Lesnar because the others will walk out as the champion and calls out Lesnar for taking his ball and going home if he loses. Heyman then tells introduces himself and does some role playing with Miz and the Miztourage. He has Miz play Roman Reigns, Bo Dallas as Samoa Joe, then Curtis Axel as Braun Strowman. Heyman then tells Lesnar to give us a preview of SummerSlam as Lesnar clotheslines the Miztourage and hits Miz with a German suplex before destroying all three men.

The end of this was awesome with Lesnar kicking all sorts of ass, including one of the best F5’s I’ve ever seen on Bo Dallas. And I like how they are playing up the story that Lesnar can lose without even getting pinned and how they are stacking the odds against him. However, I was not a fan of the beginning with Miz calling out Jordan, only for Angle to come out and basically fight his son’s battle for him. I have no idea what they are trying to go for with those two but its been three weeks now and its not compelling in the slightest. 

Seth Rollins vs. Sheamus w/ Cesaro

This is a rematch from last week, where Rollins won with a sunset flip. Rollins takes control early. Sheamus catches Rollins dive to the outside but Rollins fights out and knocks Sheamus down. Rollins snaps Sheamus’ neck then gets two with a springboard clothesline. Sheamus crotches Rollins on the top rope then knocks him outside before heading out. Rollins tries to fight back but Sheamus slams him on the apron as we head to break. We return with Sheamus in control. He cuts off a comeback then hits Rollins with the Beats of the Bodhram before hitting a rolling senton. Rollins ducks the Brogue Kick and lands a few kicks of his own as both men are down. Rollins runs into a double boot in the corner but Rollins cuts off Sheamus up top. Sheamus fights him off a few times but Rollins takes him down with a hurricarana. Rollins gets two with a super kick then uses rapid fire kicks to the face. Rollins hits a sling blade and knocks Cesaro off of the apron. Rollins heads up top but Cesaro distracts him then Sheamus uses a reverse rollup for the win (8:39) **1/4. After the match, Rollins hits both men with a tope but ends up getting outnumbered. The Champs beat on Rollins then look towards the ramp in anticipation of Ambrose’s arrival but he never shows up so they take Rollins inside and hit an assisted Samoan Drop as the crowd boos.

Thoughts: Their match last week was better but they are continuing the story of Rollins and Ambrose, who does not trust his former Shield partner and wants nothing to do with him while Rollins is trying to do whatever it takes to regain his trust.

After the break, we see Rollins limp around backstage. He sees Ambrose, who told him not to do that again as it makes him look like a jerk. Rollins tells Ambrose he is a jerk and asks what he has to do to prove he’s not the guy who screwed him over. Ambrose tells Rollins that he has Cesaro tonight and has to go alone as he still does not trust Rollins. Both guys, Ambrose in particular, are starting to seek their teeth into this storyline and its resulting in some of the better segments on the show.

Jason Jordan comes out for his scheduled match against Curtis Axel. However, Axel is not medically cleared as Angle then finds some guy warming up and sends him to the ring instead as we learn his name is Jean-Pierre Goulet. He is actually Canadian Independent wrestler Tomer Sidi Shalom.

Jordan comes out to crickets here. We get a “let’s go, Tomer” chant for Goulet as Jordan tosses him around. Jordan finally puts this guy out of his misery with a pop-up neckbreaker (1:21).

Thoughts: Jordan is not over at all in this role. The problem with this storyline is that no one believes Jordan is Angle’s son and they need a hook to make you want to suspend disbelief enough or to even entertain but they are failing at both. Plus, at this point I believe the crowd is just waiting for Jordan to turn but in the process are losing patience and that could turn into restlessness. They need to do something with this angle before it turns into a complete failure.

Bayley heads out to the ring with her arm in a sling. Charly Caruso asks her about suffering a separated shoulder last week in here match against Nia Jax. We see the replay of the injury with Bayley getting shoved down to the mat before Charly asks her about not even looking up at the footage. Bayley says that it “sucks” and watching the footage makes her mad and angry. She talks about knowing she was hurt during the match but if she did not finish it no one would take her seriously as a challenger at SummerSlam. Bayley ignores the boos and says she is thanking those sending their wishes. She is getting booed quite a bit here. Bayley is asked about her replacement at SummerSlam as Bayley thinks it should be her friend, Sasha Banks. We then have Sasha come out and give Bayley a hug as she will face Alicia Fox and Emma in a Triple Threat qualifier after the break. Poor Bayley got booed by the crowd here and seemed thrown off a bit by that but was able to turn it around. When you get positioned to fail as a babyface, as we’ve seen happen to Bayley since she became champion, this is the result even if you are injured.

Sasha Banks vs. Alicia Fox vs. Emma

Alexa Bliss comes out to join on commentary. Sasha tosses Emma outside but gets booted down by Fox. Sasha ducks a kick in the corner and gets two with a rollup as Alexa talks about not having any sympathy for weak people like Bayley. Emma wheelbarrow suplexes Sasha into the ring apron then heads inside and takes down Fox. The crowd chants for Emma as she is in control of the match. Cole brings up the rumors of Alexa being afraid to face Sasha as Alexa says that they are just rumors. Fox fights back and gets a nearfall with a Northern Lights Suplex but Sasha runs in with a Shining Wizard on Emma then runs wild on both women. Emma yanks Sasha off of Fox and almost gets the pin. Emma gets one with a rollup then tosses Fox down before hitting a running tackle in the corner that Sasha breaks up. Fox puts Sasha in a small package for two but misses a scissors kick then Sasha puts her on the Banks Statement. Emma rolls up Sasha for two but Sasha counters with the Banks Statement for the win (4:45) *1/2.

Thoughts: Despite tapping out, Emma got some shine here and reminded us that she is more than capable in the ring. Fox had a bad night as Sasha won, and that was the expected result.

Renee Young is backstage with Braun Strowman. She asks him about the importance of tonight’s Last Man Standing match. Strowman talks about how much he enjoys beating on Reigns and promises to turn the “Big Dog” into a “puppy.” The lines were not the best but Strowman’s delivery can make this stuff work.

Enzo Amore comes out. He does his shtick before introducing the Big Show. Enzo tells Show they are like a “dream team” then Show talks about Cass needing to learn respect but they get interrupted by Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson, who put them down and say if they want a challenge, they are standing right here. Gallows says if they accept, they can brag about beating another pair of “nerds.” Enzo says he was too distracted to hear what they were saying then calls them “Dr. Evil and Mini Me” before accepting the match.

Enzo Amore & Big Show vs. Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson

Show takes down Gallows, who retreats halfway up the ramp with his partner right before the break. The action returns with Gallows & Anderson beating on Enzo. They cut off the ring as Cole talks about Scott Dawson’s biceps injury and how he will be likely need surgery. Enzo dodges a diving attack in the corner from Anderson but is unable to tag out. Gallows is in and cuts off a comeback before landing a super kick. Big Cass comes down the ramp now as Show is distracted. Gallows then boots Show off of the apron then Anderson comes in or the Magic Killer but Enzo fights that off. Enzo rolls up Gallows for two but Anderson breaks that up with a running kick for the win (6:36) *1/2. After the match, Cass beats on Show until Enzo flies out with a tope. Enzo hammers away until Cass tosses him into the barricade then back inside. Enzo rolls out and has Cass chase him until Show pops up and knocks him out.

Thoughts: What we saw was fine but most of this took place during the break. And the finish was done to add more fuel to the Show/Cass feud.

We get a replay from last week where Finn Balor played mind games with Bray Wyatt and got some revenge. After that we are shown Balor heading to the ring as we go to commercial.

Finn Balor heads to the ring after we return from commercial. He tells Toronto that they are Balor Club and the crowd starts a mild “too sweet” chant. Balor talks about kicking Bray’s teeth down his throat. He also talks about Bray and says when fear stands up to you, kick it in the face before he tells Bray he will finish whatever Bray wants to start. The lights go off and Bray appears in the ring with Balor perched on the top turnbuckle. Balor eludes Bray and kicks him in the face then takes him down with a sling blade. The lights go off and again then return with Balor alone in the ring. We hear Bray laughing and see him on the screen. Bray tells Balor after he rips him down from the heavens and the fans will fall with him before telling Balor to “run.” This feud is not clicking, even with the fans into Balor. Its getting to the point where you roll your eyes whenever a Bray promo happens on TV. Its one of the least interesting characters in wrestling at this point.

Cesaro w/ Sheamus vs. Dean Ambrose

These two end in a stalemate after some mat work. Cesaro takes Ambrose down with a test-of-strength but Ambrose escapes. Cesaro then beats on Ambrose in the corner but Ambrose comes back with a clothesline before landing mounted punches in the corner. Cesaro takes Ambrose down and his face whacks the turnbuckle as he regains control of the match. Cesaro works a chinlock but Ambrose gets out and clotheslines Cesaro outside. Ambrose takes out Cesaro with a pescado then becomes distracted by Sheamus until Cesaro attacks from behind as we head to break. The match returns with Ambrose fighting out of an abdominal stretch. They end up on top where Ambrose gets crotched then Cesaro stands on the post and tries for a superplex to the floor but Ambrose counters as both men are out on the mat. Cesaro is up first and targets the back. He puts on a backbreaker submission but Ambrose escapes then starts to fire up. Cesaro cuts him off with an uppercut that gets two. Cesaro follows with rolling gutwrench suplexes for a nearfall but eats boot on a charge then the two work a reversal sequence ending with Cesaro fighting out of a sharpshooter attempt. Ambrose low-bridges Cesaro then sets him up for a tope but gets cut off with an uppercut as Cesaro runs in and makes the cover but only gets two. Cesaro then sets up for a superplex but that gets blocked as Ambrose dumps Cesaro then almost puts him away with a La Magistral. They slug it out until Ambrose hits his rebound clothesline as both men are down. Sheamus then provides a distraction as Cesaro takes Ambrose down and applies the sharpshooter. Ambrose is fighting with everything he has then reaches the ropes. Cesaro starts pie-facing Ambrose then charges and ends up getting backdropped to the floor. Ambrose heads up top after that and flies out with an elbow smash as both men are down. Back inside, Sheamus tries to distract Ambrose but fails as Ambrose is able to roll up Cesaro for the win (19:18) ***1/4. After the match, Sheamus & Cesaro beat on Ambrose until Rollins runs out to clear them from the ring. Rollins yells at the champs while Ambrose struggles to get to his knees. Ambrose sees Rollins as the fans cheer then start going nuts with the “yes” chant. Ambrose gets to his feet and looks at Rollins as the two stare each other down. Ambrose looks conflicted then sticks out his fist as Rollins looks at him as the crowd is going crazy. However, Rollins shakes his head and leaves.

Thoughts: A long but good match. Cesaro in particular had a strong night as the fans went out of their minds at the prospect of a Rollins/Ambrose reunion. Having Rollins walk out was odd to me because having Ambrose trust him again was what he wanted but instead he left him hanging, like Ambrose did two weeks prior.

Replay from earlier tonight where Lesnar destroyed Miz & The Miztourage.

Clips of Akira Tozawa defeating Ariya Daivari last week on “205 Live” for the right to face Neville at SummerSlam for the Cruiserweight Championship. After that, Tozawa is with Titus O’Neill & Apollo Crews as they celebrate the fact Tozawa will be the new champion. Neville interrupts to rain on their parade but Titus calls Neville out for needing help to retain over Tozawa. Neville then tells Tozawa he will be scouting him in his match tonight.

Ariya Daivari vs. Akira Tozawa 

Titus O’Neill is on commentary and gives Booker T a Titus Worldwide shirt. Daivari takes control early and gets a few nearfalls before working over the injured shoulder of Tozawa. Titus talks about Tozawa vs. Neville at SummerSlam as Tozawa fights back. Tozawa takes Daivari off of the apron then leads the crowd in his chant before flying out with a tope that gets him a two count. Tozawa fights off Daivari again and hits a Saito suplex before putting him away with the senton (3:50) *1/2. After the match, Titus heads to the ring to celebrate with his client.

Thoughts: The action was fine but I’ve seen enough of these two over the past few weeks. At least they’ve built up Tozawa well enough to be a credible challenger to Neville and the chant is over a bit with the crowds.

Renee is now backstage with Roman Reigns, who is not afraid of anyone.

Mickie James vs. Dana Brooke vs. Nia Jax

The winner of this faces off against Sasha Banks next week for the right to face Alexa Bliss at SummerSlam with the RAW Women’s Title on the line. Alexa is back on commentary and talks about being best friends with Nia and would love to give her a title shot. Nia overpowers both women to start. She spills outside after hitting the post then Mickie and Dana slug it out. Mickie catches her with a neckbreaker that gets two but Nia comes in and runs her over. Dana fights off Nia briefly until getting flattened with a clothesline. Mickie takes Nia down with a seated senton and covers Dana for two but gets shoved outside then Nia puts Dana away with a leg drop (3:02) 1/2*. After the match, Nia motions for the belt while looking at Alexa.

Thoughts: This was not good at all but it could have been worse. There was also zero doubt as to who would win this match, either. Nia looked okay at least as the inevitable Sasha vs. Nia #1 contender match will happen next week. Not the most inspired way to crown Alexa’s SummerSlam opponent.

Rich Swann vs. TJP will take place tomorrow night on “205 Live.”

We get another Goldust promo. He tells us that absence makes the heart grow founder and will soon share his next great masterpiece with us as he is looking out potential heroes, villains, or even a leading lady.

Big Cass interrupts Angle and wants a match against Big Show at SummerSlam. Angle says he was thinking the same thing but Cass wants Enzo Amore locked away. Angle suggests have him hang above the ring in a shark cage as Cass is pleased with the decision. He leaves as Angle wonders if Enzo is afraid of heights. Odd seeing the heel suggest a cage match with a babyface hanging above the ring in a cage to say the least.

We learn that Finn Balor vs. Bray Wyatt will take place at SummerSlam.

Last Man Standing Match: Braun Strowman vs. Roman Reigns

Reigns attacks Strowman in the aisle but Strowman fights back and takes him inside the ring. He knocks Reigns outside as we head to break. The action returns as Reigns starts to fight back. He hammers on Strowman in the corner then uses the steps that Strowman tossed into the ring as a weapon. He drops the steps on Strowman’s chest before tossing them outside. Strowman is able to knock Reigns down then rests in the corner. Reigns is able to catch Strowman with a pop-up Superman Punch as both men are down but are able to beat the ten count. Strowman dropkicks Reigns outside to the floor but able to avoid an attack. Reigns sends Strowman down on the steps after hitting the Drive By then pulls a table from underneath the ring. He puts the table inside then tries another Drive By but gets clotheslined instead. Strowman heads inside and sets up the table then yells “welcome to my playground” but Reigns fights back then puts him through the table with a Samoan Drop as both men are down. Strowman rolls outside where Reigns charges but gets a rolling chair launched at him in a crazy spot. Reigns just beats the ten count then the two head into the crowd. They make it to the announcers area as Reigns is down but just able to beat the ten count yet again. Strowman drives Reigns into the screen then tries to put him through the table but Reigns slips out. Reigns staggers Strowman down the ramp with a pair of Superman Punches before setting up for a spear but runs into a knee smash. Strowman heads down to the ring but Reigns runs down the ramp for the spear. Strowman is down at the right count but Samoa Joe reaches from the crowd and puts Reigns in the Coquina Clutch. Joe puts Reigns out as both men are out on the floor. Joe stands over both men then Strowman gets up at eight and wins the match (22:00) ***3/4.

Thoughts: It was a given that Joe would interfere here since he had not been on the show up until that point and is part of the main event at SummerSlam. With that being said, the match was really good as both guys continue to have great chemistry together. The spot with Strowman chucking the office chair at Reigns was great as the challengers to Lesnar’s Title keep beating each other up en route to the PPV.

Final Thoughts: The build for the Universal Title match has been strong and the intrigue over the Ambrose/Rollins stuff is getting over with the fans and giving us inspired performances from both men, who were in desperate need of character direction. However, the Jordan angle is going nowhere and the other RAW matches announced for SummerSlam are with little fanfare. There was some good stuff here on the show but as a whole it was just okay.
