those posts and memes and videos of people saying they buy and buy books but they never read them (you know those that are like "me buying a new book: 😃, the 50 unread on my shelf looking at me: 👁️👁️. or those 100+ physical tbr booktube videos. or some bullshit like that) piss me off so much because i WISH i could afford books—the books i want to read! i read everything on my phone and all of them illegally downloaded. and no, i can't borrow books from the public library because i live at the end of the world in a small forgotten town with no local public library. i'm messing up my sight with so much screen time because i love reading while those consumerist fools can't even fathom what it's like to value things!
#picture me like chuck mcgill during his chicanery monologue ''and THEY get to afford books? what a sick joke!''#my screen time is so crazy and it's all because of the epub reader app#obviously i'm talking about unreasonable numbers. if you have a normal amount of unread books on your shelf this is not about you 👍🏻#also note the emphasis on physical tbr bc obviously a tbr list can be huge#the thing is that you have to actually read them if you're buying them#also i used to borrow books from the nearest library (which is still very far) but they don't have many books. it was very sad.#chuck mcgill from better call saul ! btw lol

I'm bored, so it's time for temperature scale discourse. I have developed, thanks to three generations of scientific inquiry, the perfect and most correctest opinion on the topic which is this:
People have a pretty good intuition for the one they're raised with and can also be trained to have good intuition for other systems. The first and foremost thing people have an intuitive understanding for is if it's hot or cold or somewhere in between, they learn that significantly before they even know what a number is.
Especially with some practice, people can get a very good intuitive sense of linear scales, so if you then attach those two feelings to *any* numbers, tell people it represents hot and cold, and then give them practice with it, say by having them grow up in a society that constantly uses the specific numbers, they'll get a pretty good intuition for what the numbers translate to, temperature feeling-wise.
So really, there's not an objectively better system between C and F, it's just a question of which you're used to and if you wanted to spend a few years using the other you'd be used to that one enough to have about as good an intuition as you do for the one you're used to now.
Also Kelvin is the objectively best temperature unit system.
#I spent a few years with my weather app reporting in C just to get a better sense for it#IDK I used to have other arguments about this and I've also heard other arguments about this#but none of them stand up to being beaten out by this extremely strong heuristic position on it#Which says people like what they're used to#Anyhow Kelvin starts from actual zero!#It's the only one with a physically meaningful starting point that isn't Rankine which I guess would be fine if I were used to it#But no one uses Rankine and they're correct not to#Scientists are trained in scientific units even here in the US because we need to be able to publish understandably to the rest of the worl#And so the only group of people who might find use in Rankine use Kelvin instead#(By three generations I mean that my grandpa and my mom and I are all scientists although dad's dad not mom's dad so it's not linear)

Unlock Scientific Mysteries with the Interactive Science App Today

In today's fast-paced digital world, learning science has never been more engaging and accessible. Whether you're a student, educator, or science enthusiast, an interactive Science App can revolutionize the way you explore the wonders of physics, chemistry, and biology. With cutting-edge technology and immersive experiences, these apps bring scientific concepts to life like never before.
The Power of a Virtual Science App
A virtual science app bridges the gap between traditional learning and modern innovation. Instead of relying solely on textbooks and lectures, users can experiment with simulations, conduct virtual labs, and visualize complex theories in real time. This dynamic approach not only enhances understanding but also makes learning enjoyable and interactive.
For instance, imagine testing Newton’s laws of motion or analyzing chemical reactions without the need for physical lab equipment. A Physics App allows students to experiment with force, velocity, and energy, making abstract concepts more tangible. By engaging with realistic simulations, learners can grasp difficult topics with ease.
Why Choose the Right App?
Realistic Simulations – Get hands-on experience with virtual experiments that mimic real-world scenarios.
Convenience and Accessibility – Learn anytime, anywhere without the need for physical lab setups.
Engaging and Fun – Interactive activities make complex scientific concepts easier to understand.
Safe Learning Environment – Conduct chemistry experiments or physics simulations without any safety hazards.
Whether you're exploring the vast universe or delving into microscopic organisms, a Science App transforms traditional learning into an exciting adventure.
How a Physics App Enhances Learning
Physics is often seen as one of the most challenging subjects, but a Physics App simplifies even the most complex theories. By using AI-powered simulations, students can manipulate variables, visualize outcomes, and develop a deeper understanding of fundamental principles.
For example, a virtual pendulum experiment allows users to change factors like length and gravity, instantly observing how they affect motion. This kind of interactive learning helps reinforce knowledge in a way that traditional methods cannot.
Experience the Future of Science Education
The rise of virtual science app is reshaping how we approach education. With a vast library of simulations, real-time feedback, and engaging activities, students can now unlock the mysteries of science with just a few taps on their devices. Whether you're passionate about physics, chemistry, or biology, these apps provide an immersive experience that fosters curiosity and critical thinking.

I’ve been using the finch app now for five days, and so far I've seen a noticeable improvement in both my mental and physical health.
A lot of my goals are based around managing my physical disability better. So I have goals like taking my medication on time, doing my physiotherapy exercises every day, and wearing my splints more.
My main other goal is improving my sleep, which is something I've tried 1 million times before with little long-term success.
Over the past five days I've seen a real improvement in my ability to get to sleep, as well as my sleep quality. It's too early to tell whether it's gonna stick long-term, but I'm hopeful that this time it might.
I think the main difference this time is that I'm working on my physical health and sleep at the same time. So I'm doing all the sleep hygiene stuff and relaxation exercises before bed, but I'm also making sure I'm taking my Night Meds at the right time so I don't feel "Hung over" in the morning, I'm doing my physio which is helping with pain and muscle stuff, and I've set the goal to do one small thing about my pain before I go to sleep.
And I think that last goal has been having a huge impact. It's usually my pain that keeps me up at night, but when I first get into bed I don't usually feel like it's "bad enough" to do anything about. And then 3 am comes around, my pain has increased, and I find myself chasing the pain, usually with medication.
So by doing something about the pain when I first get into bed I found that it doesn't escalate as much which makes non-medication options more effective, and makes it easier to get to sleep.

the company i work for decided that its switching from the german formal "You"(Sie) to the informal "you" (Du) in all of our websites so now we have to scour the entire database to change it and i quite frankly hate that, not just bc the unecessary extra work but especially bc its such a weird and unecessary change
i bet its bc everything here is getting englishfied (both literally and culturally it feels like, when my new boss talks its half in english bc every second german word is just replaced by an english one despite there being perfectly fine words for it in german too, its so annoying) and bc they want to sound more personal in hopes of getting more clients bc 'company is your fwiend uwu!!', i know this here is the amercian tm site so you wouldnt understand really but i do not want to be greeted with 'du' by companies, no, thats too personal, you dont know me and im not giving you my data, stay away!!
i guess thats how i would describe it .. the formal you is like a polite distance, like someone you dont know staying outside your personal space, but when its the informal 'you' it feels invasive unless i told you you can call me that, and that goes double for companies
maybe its a small thing that doesnt seem important but i cant stand it, im just a little part time worker doing data work so i got no say in it but the companies founder also announced hes giving his post to his kids some time ago so ...... since then theres been alot of changes and new projects that solely aim to imitate whats popular and whats done by other companies, despite ours being one that is, or used to be, intentionally different, like, that was the POINT, but i guess chasing trends is just too appealing for CEOs
#ganondoodles talks#personal#rare personal rant#theres more and more changes that feel so weirdly forced#like man#i thought being different was the whole point#like climate and ethics are .. or were .. the core idea and now i guess its just fine to do whatever conventional companies are doing#yeah woohoo lets also do an app thing that forces people to sign up if they want reasonable prices!#smartphones the standard everwhere!#who needs anything physical if you can put it in an a phone so syphon off data directly out of people fingertips!! yea!!!#lets use AI pitcures bc we refuse to hire more graphic desingers and they are jsut so overworked uwu#climate? ethic? whats that#argh#sorry this needed to get out#recently had a stupid conversation with a coworker bc i asked them why we are okay with AI shit now when it goes against what this-#company was presumably founded on#and he was rly defensive and said welll we dont have time and its cheap and also maybe we should got WITH the time#like that last thing especially pissed me tf off#but i cant afford to lose this job#im starting to hate it more though so the dream of being able to stay like this might not be real#i cant get a job in this place that is as nice to my mental health so idk man#i wish i was good enough at merch and online stuff so i could live of that#but even trying to find out how taxes work on that stuff is a nightmare to me

🦃 morning / afternoon / evening!
Scarian is the classic <3 ive only written them once for a friend and it took me… months… got stuck on one scene and avoided it for ages (and then got into taurtis x grian but that’s another story)
Cub and Scar being brotherly and inseparable is soo <3333 everything to me. Have you read “closer to another shore”? Oh my god. Changed my life. And scar and Cub within that book… absolute peak. Devoured it twice over and once more on top of that. Very much recommend if you want to tear your own heart out and crush grian like a bug!
ooo! I'll have to give that one a lookie!
I have this whole scale AU for Scarian that I'll write one day. it's bound to be my hardst work yet (yeah including the historial research and mapping nightmare that is Dealing Despair), because Splinter is one of those fics you have to plan every single scene out to make it all come together in the end.
My goal with Splinter) whenever I get around to writing it, it is to have like a fraction of coolness Birrdie's as above, so below has?? It's still one of my favorite fics of all time and I strive to write an AU like that one day. Splinter isnt the same thing? it's like a past life kind of thing, but the part im trying to emulate from aasb is the "oh something is happening here...I am scared of it" vibe.
Eitherway, if you want a good Grian fic (with some Scarian) THATS the fic. This is the fic I give to all my friends new to the fandom/to fanfiction. I shove aasb and Dirges in the Dark at them because those are the two fanfics I want on my shelf YESTERDAY. Like physical copies. (I am working on that actually....)
OKAY I'VE YAPPED ENOUGH! Time to clock in for the writing shift today <3
#sauce yaps#fic recs#friend fics#it's crazy I can say that now because I'd like to say Kit is one of my best friends now...#and to be moots with Birrdie still kind of has me in awe?#I'm yapping in the tags with the small prayer they wont see me in here being weird about it#but like I scrolled back pretty far in my bookmarks to find those fic links really quick#and the amount of bookmarks I have from people im FRIENDS WITH NOW???#And I didn't even realize????#like there worm stuff in there from over a year ago#I got theo stuff in there as if Theo and I aren't on the verge of collabing on a peice???#It's so weird to me I do not feel like im good enough to be their friend but here I am#so I feed them snippets and funny haha jokes and keep my place like the little rat man I am#like I'm out here putting my soul into my work and I dont think I'll be anywhere NEAR my friends skill#not any time soon at least#I think the only thing I have going for me is my inhuman ability to grind out a shit ton of work in a short time period#like yall don't really see it because moe five is taking me so long (happy two months tomorrow ahaha)#but I wrote unsportsmanlike conduct in 7 days#two of those days were just editing and adding final touches#by the time I started unsportsmanlike conduct I had the hockey au for only two weeks#like I cannot turn off my brain and ALL I think about is my stories and what I can do with them#the only way to turn the brain off is to like bake or something because going on walks helps me think better#I sit in vc with the wife and the homies and I yap NON STOP about the fics I don't get a break from them#the notes app is insane and so is the discord and the hell that is my many google docs#and then I pop over to see how kits doing and kit is like “look how organized all my stuff is!” and I wanna throw a brick across the US aga#/aff#because like I would kill to be the that organized.. I also just love kit's brain but thats a different thing entierly#if yall could see the amount of sticky notes on my desk#I have to color coordinate the au and there are BOOKS of notes stacked up because I need to outline physically or I cant outline at all
