Been over here in Montana enjoying the hottest part of the summer and prepping the interior of the BruTrek1 rig for my move in. Been pretty quiet on my feed but active in the stories. I’m about to embark on an epic adventure. Leaving Missoula this weekend and heading south by way of Idaho (Boise for a night or two) and then continue on into Northern California. I would love to catch up with friends and family everywhere I go, in addition to meeting new people. Please stay in touch and let’s make an effort to cross paths! Bringing coffee gear and yoga to @sfoadventure’s High Sierra Convergence next weekend and will be rolling around the Bay Area before heading into the mountains. Up next: Boise, Idaho Then California: Redding —> Chico —> Palo Alto, San Jose, Stockton, Sacramento, and Beckwourth! Or at least something like that. We’ll see how it pans out. Stay tuned here in my stories or follow a deeper dive into this new venture over on the @bru.trek page! #brutrek #planetarydesign (at Bonner, Montana) https://www.instagram.com/p/B0q2Q6mHHJ1/?igshid=xwettpu00f

This chameleon is ready to go natural again. 2020, it’s on. 2013 version of Hope photographed in front of my favorite portrait wall. If I’ve taken your portrait in LA you might recognize this fence. Florida humidity is not my favorite. Ready to fly to SoCal for the holidays but I’ll miss the @bru.trek truck. This will be the longest I’m away from it since I started with @planetarydesign in July. San Diego, OC, Long Beach, Los Angeles and surrounding counties; want to get coffee with me? I’ll be shop hopping. ☕️ Photo by Jutt, editing by @vinaychinni. https://www.instagram.com/p/B6M7RN5nHtC/?igshid=1egg7szfqou44

Anyone else notice their pinky finder drift away from their hand in blade mode? No? Just me? Okay. It’s a wild one. Nearing the end of my DC pass through, probably the shortest amount of time I’ve spent here in a single visit since 2015, and yet, the longest stay of anywhere I’ve been since hitting the road August 1st. Spent the weekend with my Aunt and Uncle’s family and am getting caught up on any old leads that I haven’t submitted since I started. Given that this is my first “sales” job I’ve been making adjustments to my daily schedule and working out my computer time for inputting data. Some days I’m so tired from socializing on the job, getting lost wandering a city/town, and making my distance drives between places that I have no energy or brain power left to open my laptop when I finally unwind from the day. My content creation has been down too, but I attribute that to exhaustion, not a lack of inspiration. Finding the balance between taking care of myself, honoring the work I am promising to do, and leaving space for the universe to guide me has been tricky. My morning pages have been lacking and I can feel a pull to get back to them. Making a promise to myself to open my journal and brain dump in the morning. I want to spend more time in my body exploring flexibility and becoming more comfortable with what is being communicated on a subconscious level. I call it body listening. For example, my neck has been a bit wrenched because I know I have more work to submit and I’m nervous about letting my boss down. I’m not communicating when I could be, I’m 100 percent avoiding it because I’m embarrassed at my follow through and disappointed that I don’t have more discipline or experience on the paperwork side of the job. I can talk coffee, hardware, and sustainability all day. But get me to “sell” something or submit a lead and I balk a little. Luckily @planetarydesign sells itself. I just have to Vana White the shit out of it, take notes on the info I need and pass it on to the office. Crazy that I started this position three months ago. I feel like I’m just getting my feet under me. Mapped out my next month of movements and will be going south. I do not sell coffee. Repeat: I do not sell coffee. Did you know that 100 billion single use cups get tossed in the US alone, every year? Woof. And that is only the cups. My job is to pitch reusable hardware that can be branded and sold to consumers in the coffee industry. We offer solutions for storage, brewing, and consumption. Our gear looks just as good on your counter top as it does on the road. Wherever your day takes you, take our coffee gear for your adventure. @planetarydesign @bru.trek Photo by @spencerbeck 🙌🏻 Also, I’m in the DMV. Did I mention that? Slowing my pace a bit. I’m basically on the east coast now. Entered Virginia on Wednesday and spent the weekend mostly offline for work attending @overlandexpo East hosted at @infinitydowns. What a riot. One year later and a lot has changed. I talk about my manifesting work with friends but I’m not sure how much I’ve posted online. Since late 2011 (I checked the date on my first journal) I’ve been working and applying the lessons and tools @juliacameronlive teaches through her series The Artist’s Way. It is a game changer. Over the past few months I’ve been a little pre-occupied with my new venture with @planetarydesign as their new @bru.trek ambassador. I’ve been on the road a little over two months and can report back that I am having a blast. Check out our gear online! About a month in something clicked and I realized a larger effect of my work can have and how it can influence green efforts and sustainability across an entire industry. We are in the midst of a crisis. Our beloved earth is hurting. It’s wounds are being compounded by our inability to properly reduce our waste by reducing the amount of things we acquire by investing in items that are durable. I’ve been minimizing my footprint in phases and do my best to reduce, reuse, recycle everything I can. Getting better every day! What sustainable practice have you picked up recently? Finally got myself a set of washable fabric squares to replace the cotton balls I had been using to clean my face. Stoked about the upgrade! In May I took a series of @advanced.selfie images and played with light and shadows while shooting @williamjacerain. Full image is in my stories, this one is cropped to meet the system’s requirements. I love this one. (at Virginia) https://www.instagram.com/p/B3ndd8hnwUm/?igshid=1isnb9pe1uinu

I’m alive and well, I promise! On the road in @bru.trek 1 and keeping busy with work calls and travel. There has been a pivot, instead of booking it cross the country in nine days I will be taking three weeks to meander my way across. No more Asheville and the @vanlifediaries rally for me next weekend. Would have been fun but it’s nice to know I can slow down and integrate with the local cultures a bit more. This week was Tahoe, Reno, and Salt Lake City. Next week will be Denver, Boulder and potentially Omaha. Then to Chicago and Nashville before I route my way back to DC in time to celebrate my 30th birthday. Going to talk strategy with the boys in the office tomorrow morning. But with all things in my life, this schedule will be fluid and change according to desires of the fam at @planetarydesign. Reintegration after Burning Man is in full swing and I have yet to finish decorating the interior of the rig so that I can share what it looks like with me living inside. Real talk, I love to sit on my carpet with my back against the cabinets working, journaling, or stretching. With all this I could take advantage of the table but what fun is there in that? This is my floor culture. Signed up for a Planet Fitness membership last night and already burnt my bum and armpits in their upright tanning booth. First time fake baking, we’ll see how this goes. All I wanted was a collagen beverage afterwards, my skin is pink and tender now. For those who have reached out to make sure I’m okay, I’m doing well, check in with my Instagram stories for a more candid view of what I’m up to. These feed posts and slowed down as of late so if you are curious you can poke around on the @bru.trek account too! Aiming to be in Park City Saturday morning for a mountain sunrise and coffee adventures. Much love. Always have, Hope (at Salt Lake City, Utah) https://www.instagram.com/p/B2VRXg-npCv/?igshid=oswqn5ju90k1

Week 1 on the road in @Bru.trek 1 is complete! Arrived in Los Angeles early this afternoon. Will be elbow deep in my stored things. Organizing, cataloguing, purging, and packing. Some will come on the road, a few back into storage, and much will be donated. Should have gotten rid of my DVDs back in 2016 when I wanted to, not one of them have been watched. #tidyingup Need to burn a few items, toss a few others. Return anything I may have borrowed that never made its way back to its home. Pretty wild what I’m about to do. First up: handle business in LA. Next: get to Reno and advance team the ish out of this burn and play with @swingcitymonkeys for almost three weeks. Then: hit the road cross county to roam the east coast through the end of the year “for work.” Ya’ll, is this real life? What do you want to know about my upcoming adventures? Portrait taken for the website, it’s only about two weeks old. Thanks for pressing the shutter button @zacharytsanders. Thanks for thinking of me @bug_sky_kid. And thanks for hiring me @planetarydesign. (at West Hollywood, California) https://www.instagram.com/p/B1FlkXKDEdi/?igshid=14fubeep72nla

Tomorrow I leave for Montana and will begin training with @planetarydesign to take over as @bru.trek Ambassador and captain of the big rig (I think I have a name for it but that will come later). It’s real. And I’m excited for this project to find it’s flow once momentum picks up. I’ll be teaching a workshop during the @recconmontana Learning Labs, currently slated for the 3 pm slot in Tent #3. The topic is on Minimalism in a Digital Age and how you can start the process of turning your hobbies into paid work. This is something I’ve been integrating since 2012, and somehow I’ve found ways to do all of the things I would be doing anyways AND get paid to do it. Anyways, this is going to be quite a weekend. I’m really looking forward to the creative side of my new gig. My back has been a little fiery over the last week. I’ve been over working my spine, all intense yang practice (full Vetoga 1st sequence +, partner acrobatics, motorcycle riding) and not enough yin. More slow walks, seated stretches, and reclined movements please. A little history: Once upon a time I took loads of yoga videos and turned them into sets of photos. Then one day I went to take a video and thought, “What in the world am I doing?” I was climbing onto a table in a dress. I stopped. But that lighting, though. I became self conscious. Many people told me how much they loved seeing these images and yet it only took one person pointing out the strangeness of it to feel weird. I grew in so many ways during my #yoga365 year of self study. I sought out unique poses, interesting variations, partnering techniques, and beautiful locations for higher production value. I grew as an artist, creator, and coach. “Who is your photographer?” 🙋🏼♀️ Many of my favorite images were created on my phone, by me. I’ve been missing this aspect of my art and am looking forward to improving my #advancedselfie game and finishing my 200 Hour Vetoga Teaching certification.
