System Multiself / Plural Mutliself
[PT: System Multiself / Plural Mutliself]
System Multiself, a member of a system who identifies with mutliself(link) and uses the terms and identifies attached to it.
Some Examples
A headmate who use terms like Dissosisasys, Dissosinglet, etc.
A headmate who was a system in source but didn't have everyone when formed in the bodies system.
A headmate who is questioning if they are a sisasystem in some fashion.

alt multiself flag since zi dont fully like the original one and zi dont want to use one thats super tied to discourse (plus it seems like all the alt flags completely ignored the meaning behind the original flag and just made flags that mean nothing). stripe meanings are the same as the original, the only major change is that zi made the light blue purple instead and made the gray a warmer gray. this is a discourse-free flag woohoo

i did not know that polymind has so much anti-endo history/connotation in it. i'm sorry if any endogenic systems have felt uncomfortable or think i'm anti-endo. but i genuinely do not know of a different term i can use for myself?
idk, I'm just wondering if I'm a regular singlet that gets intense mental shifts or not, but I've always resonated with the plural community in some way without actually feeling like a system and being uncomfortable with seeing my two minds as separate individuals.
what made me feel polyminded is the fact that I get nonhuman mental shifts that are extremely intense and sometimes they talk to each other, but in the subpersonality way, not in the system headmate way. yk??
main reason I feel uncomfortable being seen as 2 instead of 1 and being called a system is because of BPD-related symptoms and identity issues. i do feel like one being... just a being who's torn between two worlds. DIFFERENT FLAVORS, you could say.
thinking if I should go back to calling myself multipysche but idk if that fits :( help and advice are deeply encouraged pls

Hi, hello. @the-silent-fellowship , dude.
The symbol for/of Uninet was a little crunchy and the texture the pen it was made with bothered me, I hope you don't mind we made a little cleaner version of it? Two versions actually, since the first one was made using the symmetry tools to an extent and the second version is the original symbol drawn over to make it look cleaner.
[ID: Two identically design symbols consisting of a pitchfork with one small half circle shape coming from the top right side with two fancy extensions from the start and bottom, there is a swirl-like swoop on the bottom that has two swoops; one that curls into a start of a spiral on the left bottom and the smaller swoop that goes to the right./end ID]
Idk, @radiomogai for the tag I guess?

In relation to that essay I wrote about not being plural, I have found/heard of some terms that are pretty close to describing my experiences, but they all have their own problems for me, personally. I'm not researching very intensely into terms, and I am mainly sharing this for others who might find these terms better to describe themselves than I did!
Under the cut because it kind of got long, oops.
The first is polymind, the definition (from the official wiki page) is as follows: "people who are able to distinguish their subpersonalities so well to the point they are perceived as unique beings."
There are a few problems with it (for me, personally), those being that: 1. It has been tossed around in syscourse as a 'non-harmful alternative to endo', despite the original creator specifically saying it did not coin it to 'replace' anything, and also not having syscourse opinions.
2. Because of its involvement in syscourse, its definition has become less clear, with some even saying that it's for 'systems who just don't want to call themselves systems'. Ignoring the fact that labels are a completely personal choice + preference, and you should not force any one label onto anyone, I feel like if I called myself polymind it would incidentally give others the wrong first impression. (That being that I'm anti-endo, which I'm not.)
3. I wouldn't use the word '(sub)personalities' to refer to these beings in my mind. Because the 'characters' I have in my brain get very individualized based on how much I write about them, and so they're not my personalities, they're facets of my writing. Also, having them be called personalities just brings to mind 'multiple personality disorder', the older and widely considered offensive term for DID (before it got renamed to DID). (I am going to repeat that this is personal preference for me, and I am aware that the more widely used term in the community is 'minds', which I do like -- but it's more this specific word in the definition that I can't relate to.)
The second term is multiself, its definition (from the coining post) is this: "Multiself is an umbrella term for any singlet/singlet adjacent being that experiences multiple identities/selves."
This term actually fits me pretty accurately! Since I experience 'myself' through stories, and especially through characters, I tend to view myself through the lenses of characters, even if I don't necessarily identify as them. For example: Saarn is a character I identify as, whereas someone like, say, V1 from Ultrakill is a character I don't identify as but can see myself in in some ways. If I wrote a lot about V1, I would begin to be able to 'think' more like it.
The main problems I have with this term is that 1. It was coined by a radqu.eer. I do not want to get involved with that community whatsoever, but unfortunately even if you just use the identity and try to separate it from its origins, people will still make assumptions about you if you use it. I don't want to have to tag every post I make with 'antiradqu.eer multiself' because that honestly would just be a pain. I've also said this before but making a giant post (or DNI, or BYI) about my opinions would just take too long and would be a pain to update all the time. Plus, who would read all my opinions on increasingly niche discourses?
2. Because it is a much more recently coined term, and thus isn't popular, there isn't much of a community. The tag for multiself is mostly just coining posts -- which aren't necessarily bad! But there's just not a lot of actual discussion (like if you look into the polymind tag for example, you'll see a lot more discussion from others of their experience being polymind). This means that it would be harder for other beings to understand what multiself actually is, and more likely for beings to brush it off (similarly to polymind) as 'systems not wanting to call themselves systems'.
The third term is soulbonding, its definition (from this carrd) is: "Soulbonding is when a person, often after forming a strong connection to a fictional character or world, can communicate with characters in their mind."
And yeah, out of all three of these terms, this one is probably the most accurate! I would love to use it, but again, it does come with its own problems (I think 'baggage' would probably be better to call it, at this point, since most of my problems aren't even with the terms themselves but with people making assumptions about them).
1. It has sort of been absorbed into the plural community, despite there being evidence that not all soulbonders consider themselves plural. That's why I had to specify in my essay 'non-plural soulbonding'; otherwise, again, people would make assumptions.
2. Because of its absorption into the plural community, the actual soulbonding community itself has basically... Died. There are still people posting in the tags, of course, but there aren't any popular, active Discords or forums I could find. Mainly, it seems like most soulbonders stick to isolated parts of the web. This presents the same problem as multiself, where it can be harder to find or understand information about it, because no one is actually talking about it!
3. The term has gained a heavy spiritual connotation, as in "I'm literally communicating with this character that's in another world" or something similar to that. I'm not talking down to spiritual soulbonders (that'd be hypocritical of me), but it doesn't relate to how I see the characters from my writing. And I think the 'soul' part of 'soulbond' only adds to this connotation.
Out of all these terms, soulbonding is probably the one I'm most likely to use, even with all the misinformation or assumptions about it... But it would be and is exhausting to explain the same things over and over again. (Another reason why I wrote up my original essay, I was tired of saying "I'm not plural, even though I have some similar experiences to plurals, please stop recommending me to 'do more research' because I already have identified as a system and it didn't fit me".)
Then again... I guess dealing with misinformation around these terms wouldn't be much different from the misinformation already around alterhuman, otherkin, otherhearted, etcetera. Maybe I just need to get over myself.💀
Again, these are all personal opinions! If I accidentally got any information incorrect here, then please politely tell me, instead of sending hate, or whatever. Hate is not a very effective way to get people to listen to you.

questioning plurality here!!! ermm idk ive like had others speak through me and i KNOW i wasnt talking but now its so silent so idk maybe i was faking or something?? i want to be chill ab it but like im confused now i have no idea who i am. like its still ME like im still HERE but i dont FEEL like me yk? i feel too mix-y match-y to be a completely different alter yk?? does this make sense? sorry if not -sincerely a very very confused game of mix and match
OH THIS IS VERY REAL
We experience this too and have chalked it up to a few things:
• Cofronting
• Being median/monoconscious in general
• And the fact that sometimes parts go dormant or a few stay up front for days before the next big shift happens
You're still real and valid and my best advice is to document your feelings and changes. When we did that we recognized this pattern.

Okay. This might be a bit confusing, but oh well. I'm just writing this for documentation purposes (because I know I'll forget given time).
I've had these two co-workers ("headmates") who I would say function a bit differently from my soulbonds. And who I may have been confusing with my soulbonds?
The first one, and the one I was most obviously aware of, was the Conductor. (Important thing to remember is that my "headspace" is literally just. A train. As well as a train station. But everything else is "temporary" or can be changed or moved at any moment.) She acts just like how her title would suggest: she's a robot, and she conducts the train. At first, I thought maybe she was something like an NPC. It'd make logically sense, right? Because trains need people to drive them. And she wasn't exactly full of personality; she never talked to anyone.
The part where it got confusing for me, though, was that... I conduct the train most of the time. She only appears to drive the train when I (in the real world) start to retreat inside myself, in some way. The biggest example being my maladaptive daydreams; but also when I just try to explore the headspace more.
So this lead me to categorize her as like... The mental/headspace embodiment of my dissociation. She never really takes over my body, like how "traditional" alters sometimes can do during dissociation, but she is probably the entity that is most similar to an alter than anyone else.
The second co-worker, who for now has been nicknamed "John" (don't ask, we just thought it was funny) has only shown itself relatively recently. Specifically when I was having a bad pain flare-up in my legs. It looks like this... Weird fleshy blob creature. Very "The Thing"-esque.
Anyways, it is... Loud. It yells and screams when I'm hungry or hurting, or even when I just don't feel very good. (Which when you're already fighting off a killer migraine, obviously isn't too fun.) Like the Conductor it doesn't seem to have much personality outside of that, but it does interact with us... If yelling could constitute interaction.
So, this creature I've started thinking of as being the embodiment of bodily wants and needs and anything like that. Yes, that's a long title, but I don't really know how to shorten it.
This new emerging "pattern" has also made me think about D'endrrah a bit differently. She's still obviously a daemon (and she will probably never be or become anything else), but in a similar sort of way, she's also an embodiment of something for me. Specifically stories.
And this gets to the "I may have been confusing them for soulbonds" thing. Previously I've said labels like multiself and polymind might fit me, but I was also thinking solely in reference to my soulbonds. For my soulbonds, these don't fit, because they're not "me". Even if they've come from my stories, they've separated off from that so much, to the point where they are more like their own people. But these "embodiments"? They are still definitely me, or at least a part of me. Which I... Cannot say for my soulbonds.
Anyways. That's my update from the train. I hope this made some sense, at least!

[PT: Coining Post!! 🔗👥 Multiself / Multiselves !!
Definition ::]
Coining Post!! 🔗👥 Multiself / Multiselves !!
Definition ::
Multiself is an umbrella term for any singlet/singlet adjacent being that experiences multiple identities/selves. Mulitself beings may or may not "switch" between selves, though multiself is explicitly separate from the plurality spectrum and does not describe multiple consciousnesses/distinct people. However it's important to note that SOME parasian/plurallet experiences may fall under the multiself umbrella
• You can identify as both transplural/transmedian and multiself at the same time, in the same way that you can identify as a both a boy and a girl at the same time. Trans identity is very complex, and often paradoxical in nature
• Generally switches are amnesia free and voluntary, but this is definitely more of a guideline to differentiate the label from any form of plurality. (I myself have light amnesia, and experience "switches" more as kinshifts rather than a conscious choice.)
• Multiself is inherently tied to transid, in the sense that selves have their own distinct sets of transids. Though notably, the amount in which the selves differentiate depends on the individual. On one end of the spectrum, one's selves may be extremely different in name, appearance, age, race, gender etc. On the other end of the spectrum, one's selves may be entirely identical except for each selves trans/trispersonality ids
Language ::
(Note: this is general language for the umbrella term, and may not be applicable to more specific labels that fall underneath it)
Shift (verb): The experience of changing selves
"I'm shifting into Mallory"
Form (verb): The experience of forming new selves
"I formed Riley yesterday"
Mindset (noun): The term used to describe which self you currently identify as
"I'm in Monty and Jamie's mindset right now"
Primary self (noun): The self you most commonly identify as
"I'm in Darce's mindset most often, they're my primary self"
Selves are not separate consciousnesses, though we/us language is also acceptable if you feel more comfortable using it. If you wish to refer to all your selves at once, but want to avoid being mistaken for a system, you could simply say "my selves"
Flag colours ::
Those that choose to have multiselves: dark pink
Those that do not choose to have multiselves: light pink
Those that experience their selves as being "alter egos" for the main self: grey
Those that are at their core consciousness, experiencing selves that are all equally them: white
Those that have fluid selves, in any sense: lilac
Those that have static selves: light blue
Distinction from plurality: dark blue
Why was this coined?
This label was a reaction to segreID. At first glance the two terms seem very similar, but there are some key differences such as my far laxer approach to including those that identify with some form of plurality. This label is not meant to act as a recoin, nor is it meant to "out-inclusive" the segreID coiner, vampi-rq.
I wanted to create a less specific term that would include me, and anyone else that shared the majority of my experiences
While there is conflict between me and vampi-rq, I still have a lot of appreciation and respect their term and how it was intended to be used. The multiself label is personal to me, and it was born out of respect for the segreID definition rather than in spite of it. SegreID exists to describe a much more specific experience, and it's one that simply doesn't apply to me, which I'm fine with
All thumbs are fingers, but not all fingers are thumbs
While by definition segreID does happen to fall under the multiself umbrella, that does not mean that 100% of the things described here apply to it. Vampi-rq has been explicit about what is and is not segreID. I encourage you to do your research and pick the appropriate label for what you're experiencing. The multiself label is intentionally very vague and nonspecific

₊˚⊹౨ৎ ₊˚⊹ Persona System !
ᯓᡣ𐭩 Persona system is a term that can be used by those who feel like the headmates in their system are not headmates but rather ‘personas’ or ‘alter egos’. Persona system's often have the host’s feel like headmates are more comparable to masks they can wear to slip into another identity.
ᯓᡣ𐭩 A Persona system is often also a Median system as the terms share essentially the same meaning of a system not being or identifying as entirely distinct from one another. It can also be used for those who identify as a plurallet or multiself, which is when one identifies as being between singlet and plural.

(nyaaa ive been here a few times so ill be 🌻 anon if thats okayy :3!!)
hihiheyooo, uhh do u have any tips for keeping track(??? i dunno what to call it sorryyy,,) of the selves? liek for working out personalities + stuff. ive been using a regular notebook n twinote but just wandering if u have any other apps/ideas yayy :3!! ok thats all
That's great !! :33 I'll add you to my bio ^_^
I do have a few ideas that might be useful for you! :3 Notion, Obsidian, and Milanote are all great for notekeeping. They're what I use on the day to day! There's so much customisation, and it really scratches the notekeeping itch in my brain. Pluralkit, pronouns.cc, and simplyplural while intended for systems, are also very useful for multiself beings :) The creators have specified that they don't want to gatekeep their services, and are happy for singlets to use them alongside plurals. I hope some of these are useful for you
As for trying to figure out which mindset you're in? We struggle with this as well, but I think a fairly reliable way to tell is through introspection about your identity. Since multiselfhood is so intertwined with transids, you could probably ask yourself questions such as "how old am I?" "what do I look like?" "what's my gender?" etc. You could probably even make it a personality quiz, that could be a fun way to figure out which mindset(s) you're in!!
Additionally, ask yourself how you feel. I don't know if it's like this for everyone, but for us each mindset comes with it's own "aura"? Some auras are fun, some auras are cynical, and some auras are cute. This is usually the biggest giveaway. Anyway I hope I was able to help :3 Thanks for reaching out
