Pyramid Song (800% Slower)

My favorite deep corners of YouTube music contain content like this. Audio manipulations that become augmented experiences of the original tracks. I’m definitely the fan who appreciates hearing all the songs from Talking Heads’ Remain in Light played at the same time or entire songs reversed, and when it comes to Radiohead (one of my favorite bands), whoever decided to upload versions of their songs at -800% deserves a special place in my heart.

Pyramid Song which at normal speed comes in at 4:49 is slowed into a 38:35 ambient hurricane, as elemental and ethereal as a mythology of Nu, Poseidon, Varuna or some other sea deity. Anyone familiar with the death and transformation theme of the song will feel it literally stretch across the track, allowing you almost to feel the molecules of the song.

Kinda reminds me of what Hans Zimmer did with that Edith Piaf song for Inception. Indeed, it feels like I’m listening to Radiohead from within a dream where time has slowed.

Today the weather went from summer to winter. That’s one thing I always found fascinating about living in the desert is how quickly the weather changes. Yesterday it was hot when I walked into work, today I went for a walk but the wind kept me cool for the entire mile. When I got home I felt the urge to play some @radiohead on the #piano this was always one of my favorite songs by them, so majestic and regal. Hay algo muy curioso en esta cancion, y es que, para el que sabe algo de teorida musical quizas es medio complicado de seguirle el tempo. Casi el 98% de toda la musica que escuchamos esta en un tempo de 4/4. Eso significa que el ritmo que sigue la bateria, el "pulso". podemos dar cualquier ejemplo de este pulso de 4/4 simplemente al escuchar la radio, pero por ejemplo el tema "En el septimo dia" de Soda Stereo el tempo es 7/8 (quizas de ahi vino el nombre de la cancion) Algo mas inusual. Otro tempo de 7/8 es por ejemplo "Money" de Pink Floyd. (Cabe aclarar que a medida que transcurren los temas pueden variar de tempo en el medio, como en el ejemplo anterior que en el solo es de 4/4) Volviendo a Radiohead podemos decir que es un tempo de 3/3/4/3/3 (se puede notar antes de que empiece la bateria que el piano hace dos acordes continuos, uno mas largo, y otros dos continuos) esto puede confundirse quizas con un 3/4 pero en realidad, es un 4/4 pero dividido en 2 osea 16 tresillos que se dividen en la mitad quedaria un 4/4... y si eso no te volo la cabeza, sabemos que el tema se llama "Pyramid Song" y si analisamos una piramide, su base tiene 4 lados y sus otras 4 caras tienen 3 lados. Increible. Bueno si no se entendio una mierda mi explicacion pueden preguntar o ver en Youtube hay mil videos con esta explicacion. salu2
