hi, viktor fan here: jayce is getting too much hate for being a "bad person" this act-- bro just made eye contact with god or SOMETHING and it appeared to DEMAND he kill viktor (see: "i will not fail i will not fail i will not fail") so clearly when he touched the Arcane he saw something altogether different than viktor did-- but im getting into speculation, lets take a trip back in time...

everything that viktor has become is jayce's fault. yet it isn't... because he couldn't have known... but he's still been at the centre of it since the early days of Hextech in his apartment.

if you follow the narrative thread all the way back it leads to jayce's decisions or misfortunes again, and again, and AGAIN. but why?? what is this building up to?? you would think its viktor's "death" but be so forreal he's not dead give him a fucking second aight--

So, uh, i think you have been seeing Arcane, any thoughts regarding Jayce?

I actually like Jayce and feel bad for him. It’s a little odd to me how much flack he gets from fans in comparison to other characters.

Wanted to shut down his life’s work for the safety others; was pulled into being a council member instead because Mel had an agenda.

Immediately started looking into police corruption; continued to have Mel in his ear to start making deals behind closed doors

Stressed about trying to find a cure for his best friend, who does find a potential solution; only for his teacher to say “no it’s bad” yet again without any elaboration.

Finds bodies on bridges while also dealing with civil unrests. After hating the idea of making weapons, is the one criticized for the idea of war.

Is convinced by Vi going down to undercity. Kills a kid on accident. Re-evaluates life choices. Yelled at by Vi about how he’s always been apart of the problem and has killed kids, despite only being a council member for less than a week!

Finally gets fed up with multiple people talking in his ear about their beliefs and just brokers peace cause Piltover government sucks. Wins the vote, immediately gets blown up. Peace is gone.

Injured, still doesn’t want make weapons, is panicking because his best friend is in block of jell-o

Gets attacked again, then says “fuck it” makes a small amount of weapons for the sake of protecting his friend’s task force and the city.

Best friend comes out of the Jell-O, tells Jayce “you should’ve let me die. Why’d you use the core? There’s nothing left for me here. Goodbye.”

Objectively fucks up by poisoning the tree, but in no way knew that was a problem after years of testing

Isn’t all himself anymore. Murders the best friend he saved.

Jayce’s life fucking sucks. He just wanted to invent things for common people and understand how someone saved his mom. With the way I see people talk about him in the context of the show, you would think he rigged Jinx’s bomb to explode too violently as payback after her and Vi broke into his apartment. Honestly his biggest issue early on is letting people convince him of things he was never planning on doing!

the setup of susie being so happy to be included, to be Part of something, to see herself up there. its such a setup for failure, yknow. its the piano in the square all over again. its not Built for her (the powers that be literally Shooing her from the public piano because she doesnt play it 'right') she lashes out at this unfamiliar place and role, and attacks everything (smashes the piano, destroying it for Everyone) before realizing that she can both be included, AND do her own thing, without harming others. (gains interest in learning the guitar For Herself, even if she's not perfect at it). its not Meant for her but she makes it her own. the predefined Structure of 'how the world should be' doesnt want her to exist, but she she exists in her own way anyways, in balance. she isn't 'the girl' she's, as gerson calls her, the young woman! :) the young woman who does what she wants, and who's talents are equally useful! she's the only one that doesn't follow blindly at whatever the prophecy says. she does her own thing!!! she does what she wants !! she doesnt wear the ribbon! (which. by the way. i could talk for So long about susie's identity as a butch teenager coming into herself solely because of all that but. thats besides the point.)

so when she learns that she's Not that big hero, that she's not actually fated to be here. Ouuuhhh. Ouuhhgh. it's playing Right into her insecurities about not doing things Right. about driving people away, not being as Good about other people, never doing things as Well. she's messy, she's loud, she's failing school, her magic is weak. of Course it wouldn't be her. of Course she wouldn't belong. she never does. every time she finds somewhere, every time it seems different, it turns out to all be a joke, or she moves away. but....we're back at the smashing stage! even though she's not fated to be here, even though its not Made for her, she's found her Own place, through her Own rules. it'll hurt, and she might lash out. maybe thinking it's a trick, or that it was all a joke or a lie again. but as the cycle goes, she's found her Own place here. that free spirit is the most important thing she has. her being independent is what Makes her so important. she's a renegade force, and she can push past the confines holding her friends, and Change History. she is the young woman, she is the dragon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! RAAAAHHHHHH !!!!!

okay so im not crazy right. i cant be. there is absolutely no way that 'the girl' mentioned in the prophecy isn't noelle. that's noelle, not susie. you might be thinking 'but oh !!! tumblr user lemodoe!!! we saw a very clear silhouette of susie the first time we hear the prophecy, back in chapter one!! its gotta be her!'

THAT WAS RALSEI!!! THAT WAS RALSEI'S VERSION!!! the version he tailored For Them! of course it looked like susie, he was telling it like it WAS, because he Assumed It Was!!! (and for the record it looks like he genuinely thinks it's her, at least so far) Plus, literally right after the scene where ralsei agrees to tell more about what he knows, he says This Shit

which. to me implies that "the girl" is the one who wears ribbons, and that he's Assuming that means susie. ...and, more suspiciously, noelle's flavor text for equipping the white ribbon or pink ribbon is This:

and her flavor text for equipping the twin ribbons, the white and pink Combined, is this:

it singles the ribbon out as important to her, whereas ralsei seems surprised to be the one wearing it if you put it on him, (he Knows its not really His armor) and susie outright refuses to wear it (susie). a big thing that i find interesting that i didn't remember before starting this, was the flavor text for just inspecting the twin ribbons!

kid noelle! pigtails! 'it feels nostalgic!' that's HER armor! (that by itself basically solidifies to me that the girl is not susie, but there's MORE!!) the other thing that strikes me as odd is that the main thing highlighted in her prophecy is that 'the girl finds love'. susie Does! it does look like she reciprocates for noelle, and you could also certainly interpret it as love for kris ralsei and lancer/just her general character arc, but like. is that what makes her...her?? is that the biggest, most important thing that's happened to her...?? not...really? its important, but it doesn't take Center Stage. but with noelle??? oh boy Yes it does. most of her screentime in chapter two, and her section at the start of chapter four, BOTH highlight her crush on susie very directly! its a big thing for her! while, on susie's end, it is Implied that she reciprocates, but, again. doesn't take center stage. that isn't her prophecy.

also, something about this silhouette is off. its just ambiguous enough to where it could be susie, but it doesn't really Match. again, if you go back up, we See how she was stylized in the first rendition of the prophecy, and this doesn't look like that at all. she's...Smaller. her hair is neater. only curling at the very ends. her waist is cut off so that it could be the tail of her jacket, but it could also be a dress.

she CAN equip swords, a sword, and most likely Will in the Future. and i meaann. its a prophecy it knows all about the Future. this, in my opinion, is the most damning evidence. anyways. am i making a big thing of an obvious conclusion? Maybe. maybe i am stupit. but, having a solid List like this, to really Confirm it?? thaaaats something to me. I haven't gotten to the chapter three and four weird route yet, but i'm really excited to because of all of this. (...is the weird route...the True route?) (stay tuned for.
