Super League Triathlon, London

I added a new sport to my CV this weekend! SLT takes the typical format of a triathlon (swim, bike, run) and jumbles it up in a variety of ways to create shorter, more exciting races. This edition required competitors to complete three mini-‘athlons back-to-back-to-back in about 45 minutes, with points for the fastest finishers and eliminations for the slowcoaches at the back.

I found myself in London for the second time this week, and got a crash course from Victor - a colleague from our Singapore branch. There wasn’t much prep time nor physical space for us and all our kit, so despite a less-than-ideal buildup, I think we just about got through a frenetic few hours of television.

We were sat in a cabin slap-bang on the finish line, but with all that was going on I only looked up to see actual athletes whizzing by me a handful of times! I’m doing another one in Toulouse next weekend, where I hope I’ll be a week wiser to the trials ahead and be able to breathe a bit more.

Shout out to the UK weather for doing its thing in spectacular style - blazing sunshine that made our work spot feel like a greenhouse, and a thunderstorm that forced us to evacuate the area on rig day!
