Tomorrow will be the first day of Ramadan. The holiest month in Islam. A month which Muslims and Arabs fill with celebrations and festivities. Visits between extended family members, messages of love, desserts exchanged between neighbours, entire menus of authentic foods come to the table.
It's a sorrow above sorrow that we enter such time while Gaza is still suffering.
We received messages from Palestinians asking us not to share pictures of food and family gatherings as we do each year. As they lay there, starved, each family messing many members to at least keep them in our thoughts and prayers.
In my whole life, and probably in the lives of even my grandparents, we have never faced Ramadan with such sorrow and fear.

“Meghan's show being out just in time for Ramadan is top tier. Giving me plenty of inspiration for recipes (the non-bacon and non-alcohol containing lol) and for hosting beautifully. Ramadan is a time when all my family likes to gather everyday at someone's house so I'm hosting 2/3 times a week and she's giving me precious tips to make the gatherings look more polished and organised with the menus and cards for every meal as well as inspiring me to buy flowers to make my living room prettier.” - Submitted by Anonymous
“Gonna start buying flowers and arrange a bouquet on the table for our family Sunday lunch after church! Inspired by the lovely Meghan Markle Sussex.” - Submitted by Anonymous
“That one pot pasta recipe was life-changing for this working mama! She might be unrelatable to some of you but she gave me a new dinner idea and saved me a whole lot of meal prep+cleaning time. Thank you for your service Meghan Sussex!” - Submitted by Anonymous

Kurangi Gula, Tepung! Bisakah?
Lalu apa?

Ooh. Top five soups or stews? Had two trees demolish my house this week so am also looking for distraction!
jen omg your house! hope everyone is unharmed at least??
okay so as i did with sandwiches this will be about specific soups/stews because i had like three come immediately to mind as soon as i read your question.
the lobster bisque at The Lobster Pot in Provincetown. truly one of the best things i've ever put in my mouth. it was pricey when i lived there 20+ years ago so it was only a special occasion treat, but just. melt in your mouth. i'm sure the cost is astronomical now but it is worth it. oh god i have just learned that they ship frozen bisque. after ramadan it's all over for you people. by which i mean me. and my bank account.
Jamila's lamb tagine. possibly controversial to class tagine as a stew, idc. Jamila's is a Tunisian cafe in New Orleans, it seats about five tables and she has like twelve things on the menu but makes every one of them so exquisitely that you don't care. Jamila ALSO has had a booth at Jazz Fest for as long as i can remember, and you know what? her tagine is just as good served in a disposable bowl on a 100Âș afternoon as it is in the cafe.
so there's this fish chowder recipe, and my mother swore that i found it and gave it to her, and i swear she found it and gave it to me, and since i'm still alive i get to control the narrative. so there. the secret is using powdered condensed milk as the thickener, and putting in at least a pound more fish (cod, halibut, any of your standard north atlantic white fishes. if you make this with tilapia my mother's spirit will manifest in your kitchen and hit you with a wooden spoon) than it calls for.
Mrs. Grass chicken noodle soup was the go-to sick day soup in our house growing up, and stayed my number one comfort soup until they ruined it a few years ago. my mom always mixed in a little milk before giving it to us when we were sick; i genuinely thought milk was part of the recipe until she explained she did it to cool the temperature so we wouldn't scald our mouths.
Lil Dizzy's seafood gumbo. this is a cafe in Treme and the reason their seafood gumbo is the best is it's filé, not okra. sorry not sorry. unfortunately it also has sausage in it, so i haven't had it for years, but if you're ever down here, go get some. just remember they're only open for lunch, and closed on sundays.

Gorengan, Sambal, dan Es: Menu Ramadan Andalan, tapi Sehat Gak, Sih?
Gorengan crispy, sambal pedas nampol, plus es yang nyegerin—kayaknya ini paket wajib buat buka puasa. Setelah seharian nahan lapar, rasanya auto pengen balas dendam. Tapi buat aku yang punya GERD, makanan begini tuh kayak love-hate relationship. Nikmat, tapi kadang jadi bumerang. Baru aja makan, eh perut langsung protes.
Pernah gak sih, abis buka malah jadi gak nyaman?
To be honest, aku juga masih belajar buat lebih aware sama tubuh sendiri. Kadang sukses nahan diri, kadang tetep aja kecolongan.

Semua riang. Semua kenyang. Happy Eid (and Eclipse!)
Walhasil berangkat senin pagi, macet, nyampe pas banget lunch time di jam gerhananya.
Sebelum tidur sempet bikin satu batch opor pake pressure cooker. Rabu pagi cetek pressure cooker lagi sebelum berangkat solat eid di SOCH. Alhamdulillah rameee ketemu temen-temen solat eidnya, ada breakfast buffetnya juga (tapi sarapan bule gt scramble eggs and friend). Abis foto-foto anak-anak meluncur kerumah buat makan opor.
Senang sekalii rame-rame makan opor dirumah berasa banget vibes lebarannya. By the time batch terakhir kelar makan, udah hampir jam 3 terus aku sekalian berangkat kelas.
Ngajar di kelas lancar lumayan (meskipun ga latihan sama sekali setelah bikin slidesnya). Inilah the power of kepepet ya.
Luvv.

EASTER / SPRING EQUINOX – DASH EVENT
IC DATE: 30th of March till 2nd of April OOC DATE: 24th of March till 7th of April PARTICIPATION: non-mandatory THREADS OUTSIDE OF EVENT: allowed! TAG: #fenrireaster
The weather has not been favourable for the citizens of Fenrir's Wood to really feel Spring coming, but there is still hope that at least one of the Easter days (the 30th of March and the 1st of April) the sun will be shining. Especially since every Easter Fenrir's Wood is booming with activity: there are egg-finding events hosted by schools in the park (open to all), family friendly picnics, the book market at the local Library at Harbour, and hiking excursions up the Trail of Sikkerhet.
Meanwhile the Witches of Fenrir's Wood are celebrating the Spring Equinox later than planned given everything that happened on the Full Moon. Aside from their usual cleansing rituals in the Lord's Wood, many of them create ornaments and artworks to place along the Trail of Sikkerhet.
A list of specific events below the read more!
the Duck Book Fair; hosted by the Library at Harbour. Here people can bring their own books to sell while the Library pawns off some of its collection. The perfect spot for second hand book lovers. The cafe at the Library is open for those who want to have some cake or coffee in between reading and hunting.
the Grant Park Picnic; hosted in Grant Park. While you can bring your own food and blankets, the organisers of the Picnic also have food and blankets you can borrow!
EGG-celent; hosted in Fenway Park. This huge park (more of a forest really) is home to the biggest egg hunting race in Fenrir's Wood, held on the 31st of March. Real eggs are being used!
Picnics with ducks; hosted at the Duck Pond. Already a famed location to have picnics in, on the 1st of April local pet shops are selling duck feed so the ducks can also enjoy the picnic.
Fenrir Egg race; hosted at the Fenrir University. While the school is closed for a week to celebrate Easter, the doors open on the 1st of April for the joke-riddled Egg race. Find as many as eggs possible while avoiding stepping into traps created by the students. An egg hunting competition for true daredevils.
The Duck Waltz; hosted by Horizon Dance Studios. On the 30th of March, the Horizon Dance Studios hosts small classes for kids age 5 to 14 to learn how to do the Duck Waltz, which they will later preform in front of the studio.
Easter Brunch; hosted at Jollybolly. An easter brunch paid for by the city for families and singles who don't have as much money to spend. Tickets (free ones) have been sold out, but there is always room for late comers.
Non-Egg Brunch; hosted at Moonshine. For the Vegans. A special brunch menu for those who are looking to go Vegan for Easter.
Easter Iftar; hosted by Dorya Grill. With Easter and the Ramadan at the same time, the Dorya Grill is offering a special Easter themed Iftar, for families and friends who want to combine the holidays, the whole Easter weekend. In case of good weather, there is also room to sit outside.
Döner Duck's Egg-shaped Pizza special; hosted by Döner Duck. Last year they surprised the neighbourhood with the duck pizza (a pizza salami with salami in the shape of ducks), this year they have three special egg-shaped pizza's: meat, veggie, and vegan.
Hiking the Trail; at the Trail of Sikkerhet. If the weather is good, there is no trail more beautiful than the Trail of Sikkerhet to walk. Especially with locals having decorated trees along the path with ornaments and trinkets. Walk all the way up the mountain to Brann's Peak or take a look at the lower hill and visit the Shrine of MÄne.

Whether it's a grand wedding, a festive family gathering, or a formal corporate event, food has the power to shape the overall guest experience. That’s why so many people rely on trusted catering partners who can deliver not just great taste but also reliable service. Among the top-rated catering services in Mumbai, Jaffer Bhai Delhi Darbar continues to stand out, backed by hundreds of happy customers and years of expertise in delivering exceptional experiences.
Personalized Service That Customers Love
Many clients who have worked with Jaffer Bhai Delhi Darbar mention that what sets them apart is their professionalism. From the moment a booking is made, their team gets involved in understanding the event, the preferences of the hosts, and the nature of the guests. Unlike ordinary vendors, Jaffer Bhai's approach is highly personalized. They treat every occasion with care, knowing that successful catering services in Mumbai require more than just food delivery. It’s about timing, presentation, hygiene, and courteous staff—qualities that Jaffer Bhai has perfected over the years.
Real Stories from Happy Clients
One customer who hosted an engagement party at home shared how impressed they were with the efficiency of the team. The starters arrived hot, the main course was laid out beautifully, and every guest left with a full heart and a happy stomach. Another customer who hosted a corporate annual function for their company mentioned how Jaffer Bhai’s team delivered neatly packed meals to their office, complete with labels, sides, and desserts. These stories reflect why they are a top recommendation when people talk about catering services in Mumbai.
Flavor, Variety, and Quality in Every Bite
One thing customers frequently highlight is the rich flavor and authenticity of the dishes. Jaffer Bhai Delhi Darbar is well known for its Mughlai cuisine, but what surprises many is the variety of menu options available. From classic biryanis and kebabs to vegetarian platters, Chinese starters, and regional Indian dishes, the menu is expansive. Clients also appreciate how the team offers Jain, vegan, and customized menus to suit diverse dietary needs. This ability to cater to different preferences is one of the reasons why their catering services in Mumbai are so well-regarded.
Service That Stands Out
Beyond the food itself, it’s the service experience that guests remember. Several clients have noted how polite and helpful the staff is during events. Whether it’s a buffet setup or live counter, the team maintains cleanliness, interacts with guests respectfully, and ensures everything runs on time. For many clients, this attention to service detail is just as important as the taste of the food. In a competitive city, reliable and friendly catering teams are a rarity, making Jaffer Bhai a valuable choice for hosting worry-free events.
Built on Trust and Long-Term Relationships
What truly makes Jaffer Bhai Delhi Darbar different from others offering catering services in Mumbai is the consistency they provide. Some families have worked with them for multiple functions—from birthdays and housewarmings to weddings and anniversaries. These returning customers speak volumes about trust and satisfaction. When people repeatedly choose the same caterer, it means the team has delivered not just good food, but a complete and stress-free experience. Jaffer Bhai’s team takes pride in building long-term relationships, and it shows in every interaction.
Event Planners Recommend Them Too
Event planners across the city also recommend Jaffer Bhai to their clients. Whether it’s an outdoor wedding in the suburbs or a formal dinner at a five-star hotel, the team is flexible and adaptive. Their ability to coordinate with decorators, venue managers, and even security ensures that food service flows smoothly with the rest of the event. For those looking for full-service catering services in Mumbai, this level of professionalism and coordination makes a huge difference.
Menus Designed to Match Every Occasion
One unique feature of Jaffer Bhai’s service is how they help hosts design event-specific menus. For weddings, the team might suggest rich, indulgent dishes and live tandoor counters. For corporate lunches, they recommend lighter, neatly packed boxes that are easy to serve and eat. For religious or family events, they suggest theme-based menus that suit the occasion. This creative approach helps clients feel confident that their food offering will be appreciated and remembered. It also explains why their catering services in Mumbai continue to rank high among customer choices.
Hygiene and Safety Are Always a Priority
Another key point customers appreciate is the hygiene and safety standards. In a time when food safety is more important than ever, Jaffer Bhai maintains clean kitchen operations, trained staff, and secure packaging. Many clients have commented on how the food is not just delicious but also fresh and hygienically handled. For both small gatherings and large crowds, this is a top priority, and Jaffer Bhai delivers on it consistently.
Guest Feedback That Builds Reputations
What hosts love most is the positive feedback they receive from their own guests. Several clients shared how people came back to them asking for the caterer’s number or complimenting specific dishes like the galouti kebabs, mutton biryani, or the malai kulfi. This kind of word-of-mouth praise reflects the high quality of Jaffer Bhai’s catering services in Mumbai. Hosts say that the food often becomes the highlight of the entire event, and that’s exactly the result any event organizer would want.
The Power of Repeat Clients
Repeat customers, in particular, have a lot of good things to say. Whether it’s a family that has used their services for several events or a company that chooses them for annual functions, these clients come back because of the consistent quality and professionalism. Even when clients try other caterers once, many return to Jaffer Bhai for future events because they realize that good food and reliable service go hand in hand. That’s what makes them one of the most respected names in catering services in Mumbai.
