I have too much free time and an abundance of cringe in my grasp, so I have done the only thing I could while I wait for more Kai content…

I made a Ninjago x Miraculous LB au.

Jay Walker - he lives in a smaller house with his adopted parents. He is always making machines to do tasks or just to decorate his room. he is outgoing in class and wants nothing more than to be close to Nya. Though he has some self-esteem issues he is always there to lend a helping hand.{miraculous of the ladybug - Tentomushi}

Cole Brookstone - His dad works at a dance studio and really wants Cole to join. Instead, he focuses on art and music. Sometimes him and Jay make sets for the tech crew. Though Cole refuses to audition for a part. He will do anything to protect his friends, and stands up to all who are unjust.{Miraculous of the turtle - Kame}

Zane Julien - His dad was an inventor and homeschooled Zane until the French equivalent of high school. He is very educated in science and mathematics, but doesn’t always get the arts. He wants to learn painting and practices with Cole. He wants to make sure his family is safe. {Miraculous of the dragon - Ryu}

Kai Smith - Hot-headed and loud. Practically raised Nya himself, and his whole life is built on carefully structured lies. He doesn’t have a good relationship with his parents. Though he is their ‘miracle child’ so they dote on him. He doesn’t trust them, and they lie to him often. Though favored by his parents he has a bad reputation among teachers and students.

{Miraculous of the fox - Kitsune}

Nya Smith - Very smart and loves robotics. She says she doesn’t care about boys but Kai has seen how she talks about Tentomushi. Her parents push her to succeed in everything ever, demanding perfection. She knows Kai is overprotective and wants nothing more than to destroy the pedestal her parents crafted for themselves.{miraculous of the cat - Neko}

Pixal Borg - Lives with her father who works at a tech company. She is very literal and very smart. Often struggles to control her sarcasm yet also struggles with brutal honesty. Is dating Zane (they know each other’s identity). 

{miraculous of the horse - Kisouma} 

Lloyd Garmadon - lives with his uncle Wu, who seems to know a suspicious amount about the miraculous. (He was the last Ladybug). He isn’t popular since his dad is commonly rude and forceful. Once Tentomushi and Neko recover the peacock he joins the team. 

{miraculous of the peacock - Kannon}

First Spinjitzu Master - the guardian. No one has ever seen him, not even the miraculous wearers. 

Krux - Main villain. Big bad. He wants to get the miraculous for his wish. More than anything he always to reverse time and make it so that Wu didn’t defeat him and kill his brother. Big brain, the smart twin. (He recruited the influential Ray and Maya by allowing them to have a kid, Kai, using the Peacock). 

{miraculous of the butterfly - Flying Time}

Acronix - younger twin who was killed in the first fight with Wu. In the events of this AU, he is replaced with a sentimonster and uses the peacock miraculous when Krux asks. He is unaware he isn’t a real person but is allowed a lot of freedom in personality. (Not Krux’s main priority). 

{miraculous of the peacock - Aglais io}

Ray and Maya - they own a large mechanical firm, and manage to make a lot of vehicles and other tools for Krux. They met him as his ‘Dr. Sanders’ disguise. He promised he could help them have a child if they helped him with his ‘family issues’. They hastily signed the contract and are now stuck working for him. (Krux made Kai using the peacock miraculous). Somehow the process allowed them to have Nya naturally.

Kai monstrosity yet every action he takes is one he knows a fellow ninja would’ve.

“Cole would wait and see what happens”

“Jay would make a joke”

“Zane would-….maybe i shouldn’t do what Zane would do…”

“Nya would know where to attack”

“Lloyd would keep a level head, he was always the best at planning”

And every action he takes is in memory, in honour of the ones he loves as if he is already mourning them.

I’ve said this many times now, but Kai isn’t just Kai. He is everyone he loves, and when they are gone, he clings to their memory like a lost child in a crowd.

Garmadon godfather HC.

so, this headcanon... let me explain.

Garmadon and Maya were best friends during the Serpentine War (here) and she was the one who asked him to be the godfather of her children.

He loves the Smith siblings and sees them as his nephew and niece.

Even after Maya and Ray disappeared he continued to keep an eye on the children from time to time, until the day he was banished to the Underwold.

When they grew up, Kai and Nya only vaguely remembered this uncle who came to check on them but who also ended up disappearing like their parents (they didn't remember that this uncle was Garmadon).

Even though in season 1 Kai hated him, Garmadon couldn't take him seriously, he could only watch his baby nephew having a little tantrum.

They had a proper conversation after defeating the Overlord. Kai and Nya had mixed feelings about all this. (especially Kai) but they are good now.

I headcanon the Smith Siblings being half Japanese (from Ray) and Half Filipino (from Maya).

Kai takes after more from Ray since Japan is the Land of the Rising Sun and Kai is fire while Nya takes more after Maya since the Philippines is the Perlas ng Silanganan (Pearl of the East I think) but their personalities are switched.

(Kai is more like Maya except the temper.)

Yes, Kai is shorter. Not shorter than Jay but he's still a short king. Skylor loves that. Starving yourself to feed your baby sister does that to you.

Nya is a queen. Jay loves that. Her hair is tinted blue since she merged with the ocean.

I made Jay gingerish to differentiate him from the others. Why'd they make him a brunet anyways?

I know the pose is wack. I suck at anatomy but my in verse explanation is that Kai hates being short and wants to be in front so Nya let him.

Now...

Eyyyy.

Nya and Kai know a lot about Japanese Mythology (Dragons) but can't speak Japanese. But, they know how to speak Filipino. Although, Nya would be able to learn Japanese.

Their mannerisms are essentially more Japanese-like but they know how to cook Filipino food. Thus...

I used their pre-season 8 hairstyles for this since this is pre-ninja times. Their hairstyles change after season 8 since they've grown up and have more money to spend.

Firefighter at Ninjago City's Fire Department (NCFD)

Is basically immune to fire, so he's the kind of guy who enters the building on fire to evacuate everybody

Due to his job, he's the most fit of all the ninjas

He's also mobilized in rescue missions (like the emergency services) so he and Zane are the medical team (mostly Zane tho)

But because of his job, he cannot be the most present of the ninjas

He doesn't have the courage to tell Skylor he sees her better as friend (even tho she thinks the same)

He's nonetheless a very popular ninja (but not the most, but don't you dare bring this to him)

He doesn't use a lot his power during missions bc it's dangerous and he doesn't want to kill people.

But on the other hand, he's a very very very skilled swordsman. You cannot beat him with his sword.

Right after the Merge, he was sent on a rescue mission (as a firefighter) in the Land of Monsters. He came back 1 and half months later, after 6 weeks of radio silence and all alone. Nobody knows what happened there. He refuses to talk about it.

On his arm, he tattooed the centipede to remember what he could have become and what he survived, and he added Daidan's symbol and Rusty's on his back to remember them.

Doesn't see his parents really often due to his jobs and the distance (they live quite far), but he wish he could do it more often bc when he does Ray and Maya are always very caring, which Kai really like since he usually is the one who take care of others.

Kept the red bandanna from s5 at first just for fun, but in the Land of Monsters, it became his last connection to his friends and family, so now it has a real symbolic for him

But if you exclude the traumas, he's really nice and fun

Wyldfyre, Heatwave and the robot live at his place since he's Wyldfy's legal guardian

He's one of the only adults Wyldfy trusts

Likes to bring joy to ppl

He made his sword by himself, but it broke quite fast. Then, Ray helped him make it more resistant

Kai can listen to like, every genre of music, even tho his favorites are pop and metal

He's not very good at blacksmithing, but he likes manual activities, it helps him relax

He especially likes woodcarving

He hates silence. He always has music, or podcasts, or he's talking to himself, but never silence

Considers Lloyd his little brother

Had a very hard time discovering Morro is his cousin

Don't go to therapy bc he doesn't realize he has traumas.

With his colleagues, he has the reputation to be a little weird but one of the funniest

He's Jaya n°1 supporter (and will bully for fun Jay about nephews and nieces. He won't dare with Nya bc she doesn't hesitate to punch him)

Also supports Wyldfyre and Roby (he always says yes when she asks him if Roby can come over bc he knows Roby's environment is far from great)

Wants to look like a cool guy but kinda fails

Laughs at the dumbest things

Has a weird friendship with Pixal. They often work together and they get along surprisingly well

Might have forgotten a few things but at least he's here.
