Вчера, 26.07.2024, был жаркий день, который обещал быть обычным рабочим, но превратился в нерабочий день подрков.

Встал часов в десять или около того, начал немного работать, но как-то не шло. Безумная жара опять. Т и Ю был и дома, так что работал только ручками, что называется.

А часа в три или около того решил я делать то, о чём мы давно разговаривали с Т и, в общем-то, договорились: залез на re:Store, и заказал пятнадцатый Айфон. Разумеется, самый доступный из всех, я же не такой миллионер, ахах. И, разумеется, не за нал, а в кредит на короткий срок. Планирую выплатить раньше, как делал с предыдущими покупками.

Ну и здесь обычный день закончился. Оказалось, что в Галерее телефона не оказалось, но был в Меге. Но нас это не остановило - поехали туда, на удивление без пробок. Всё забрали, там же Т вскрыла, проверила. Радости вагон.

Потом поехали в центр, прогулялись пешочком до Калинина.

По пути опять много разговаривали, в том числе и на довольно необычные темы. Я заметил, что у такой жары есть один плюс: многие девушки презирают нижнее бельё, хех. Разумеется, это было сказано в шутку, но разговор пошёл дальше, опять об отношениях, о маленьких радостях, которые женщина может доставить мужчине, и о прочем. Ну и Т тоже типа в шутку сказала, что за новый Айфон полагается "благодарность". Хотя в такую жару даже мне ничего такого не хочется, ахах. В общем, всё это довольно забавно.

Уже на Калинина Т предложила взять по бутылочке певка, чтобы обмыть покупку, но время было девять часов, до десяти точно успевали доехать, так что не стали брать. Автобус, опять нет пробок, быстро доехали. Т домой, чтобы с пёской погулять, а я быстренько за певком.

Дома всё перенесли со старого Айфона на новый. Хотя старый назвать старым тоже нельзя - как-никак, это двенадцатый, и вполне себе ок. Потом приехал Ю, и мы ему в качестве подарка отдали старый телефон Т, а я забрал телефон Ю - это Айфон 6S, тоже старый, до этого был у брата Т, потом у Ю, а теперь вот у меня доживает, ахах.

Да, но почему я так легко отношусь к телефону и отказался от идеи Т купить сразу и мне? Потому что я не так сильно завязан на телефон, а вот ноут - это да. Так что решил брать себе второй, меньшего размера, для работы, поездок и всё такое. Посмотрел - как раз есть такие в пределах 50к. Попозже возьму, хоть проще будет и в архиве, и везде.

В общем, посидели с певком, посмотрели сериал, поговорили. А потом Т спать, а я продолжил сидеть. Правда, часа в два ночи напал сон, и я не сал сопротивляться.

Retail tech company b8ta announced on Thursday that it has acquired Re:store, a one-year-old startup that helps online fashion brands gain a physical presence by providing space at its store on Maiden Lane in San Francisco. With this acquisition, b8ta marks an expansion in fashion and lifestyle as the industry looks for innovation.

Launched in August 2019, Re:store was founded by Selene Cruz after she bootstrapped her fashion brand out of her studio apartment. Seeing firsthand the need to get discovered and build community, she turned her studio into a shared showroom. Re:store went on to raise $1.7 million in pre-seed funding led by Sequoia and SPC, one of the few Latinas raising venture funding in the Valley.

The company has quickly become a go-to experiential retail partner for Instagram famous brands like Sezane, H&M’s & Other Stories, Nasty Gal, Storets, as well as direct-to-consumer startups experimenting with physical retail including Thinx, 11 Honore, MM La Fleur, and Sleepy Jones. Re:store innovated IRL distribution with its retail-as-a-service model that provided turnkey placement with a proprietary dashboard, giving real-time visibility to automate merchandising, buying, and logistics.

b8ta already operates the largest experiential retail footprint in the world with some two dozen outlets across the United States, Dubai, and Japan. To date, b8ta’s retail footprint has seen over 50 million product engagements and launched more than 1,000 brands. In addition, b8ta licenses its store operations technology and works with premier partners such as Made by Google and Market @ Macy’s. It also made headlines last year for bringing back Toys ‘R’ Us during the holiday season.

b8ta has raised over $88.5 million in funding and is part-owned by Macy’s, Inc. In fall 2019, b8ta launched its inaugural Forum by b8ta store in West Hollywood, CA with a keen eye toward entering the fashion and lifestyle market. By acquiring Re:store, Forum by b8ta will be offering “one cohesive solution” for the needs of fashion and lifestyle brands seeking retail distribution online and offline without the hassle.

“The future of retail is discovery,” said Vibhu Norby, co-founder and CEO of b8ta. “I am a huge fan of what Selene built at Re:store, and we’re incredibly excited to add their Maiden Lane location to our portfolio.” The acquisition was a mixed offering of cash, equity, and contingent consideration, with Re:store maintaining licensing rights while handing off the business dealings to b8ta. Existing brand partners will see Maiden Lane rebranded under Forum by b8ta, and now be able to expand into West Hollywood, NYC’s Hudson Yards, and future unannounced locations in b8ta’s lifestyle pipeline. They will also have immediate access to Forum by b8ta’s online marketplace. Selene Cruz will stay on in an advisory role with b8ta to support brand curation and community experience.

“The b8ta team has been an inspiration since the beginning,” added Cruz. “This acquisition is a big win in our mission to create a true fashion-meets-tech platform. We’re excited to finally be able to tap into our waitlist of brands and give them access to omni retail beyond Maiden Lane. weekend moodboard event!

Hey everyone!

For my followers in the United States, it’s 4th of July weekend. I wanted to use this time to share a few organizations working to solve various issues in the United States and who are always looking for support.

To participate, you can do anything from signing up for a mailing list, donating, signing a petition, writing in a mailing campaign, really anything. It does not have to be an organization from the list under the cut, these are just some suggestions to get you started. If you know another group in your own community, go for it! After, request a moodboard by sending me the name of the organization, what you did (sign up for their mailing list, donate, petitioned, did a mailing campaign, etc.) and who you want the moodboard for! It could be any character from my fandom list or an OC (I’ll just need details or a link to them).  

Some of my favorite organizations and issues I’m familiar with are listed below the cut but it is by no means exhaustive! If you have any that you want me to add or boost, just let me know!

Thanks everyone (and yes, this is open to non-U.S. followers as well, if you have a organization in your country or internationally that you’d like to support!) and open from today (July 4th) to tomorrow night (July 5th). It’s quick and short, but it’s just a little something!

Some organizations and people to check out:

Mari Copeny is a 12-year-old activist in Flint, Michigan (she turns 13 Monday!), who has been fighting for clean and safe drinking water in her hometown. She organizes various drives for the kids in her community, as well as events pushing for clean water both in Flint and beyond. throughout the year, so keep an eye on her twitter for updates. While water quality has improved in Flint over the last five years, there is still work to be done, and Mari is on the front line.

RAICES Texas provides educational and legal services for immigrants and refugees, specifically those at the southern border. They’ve been working to give legal aid to migrants facing deportation, families that have been separated, and for those in detention. They have a ton of resources on their site to check out, and their twitter is also full of information on how you can help.

In a similar vein, Migrant Justice is a group out of Burlington, VT that fights for economic justice and the rights of migrant farm workers in the state, especially those in the dairy industry. Like RAICES, they also provide support for workers who live in fear or have been being racially profiled or detained, especially near the northern border, which has become heavily militarized. 

This Black Lives Matter card provides a ton of details on how you can support the cause, way more than I can detail here!

The Trevor Project provides support, resources, and a hotline for LGBTQ+ youth, especially those struggling with mental health issues or who are living in an unsupportive environment. 

The Electronic Freedom Foundation is a nonprofit that defends digital privacy rights and free speech. They’ve also put out a lot of great resources for protesters as well and are fighting against government surveillance and censorship. 

The Lakota People’s Law Project is a group working to defend the First Amendment rights of Native people and their allies. They were present in 2016 at the Standing Rock protests, and continue to work to assist in the reclamation of Indigenous lands, stop future threats to Lakota culture, supporting Native voting rights, and work with tribal nations on other issues facing Indigenous peoples.

The Navajo Water Project is an Indigenous-led group working to bring clean, running water to families living in Arizona, New Mexico, and Nevada in the Navajo Nation.

Re:Store Justice is a criminal rights, California-based nonprofit seeking to improve the lives of incarcerated people and are fighting mass and static incarceration, with the hopes of working to re-imagine the justice system.

I hope this can get you guys started if your interested! It would mean the world to me if you used this weekend to get involved in some way, even if it just means signing up for a mailing list or signing a petition!
