I started writing DID YOU CARVE YOUR NAME ON ANY STONES from observing different characters in all the places I would play on weekends.  Then I took a trip to Washington DC and visited the Vietnam War Memorial and the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial and came away with a different perspective about carving a name in stone.  Did You Carve Your Name On Any Stones was one of those songs that seemed to write itself.  I just got out of its way.

alhaitham looked over at kaveh when it suddenly started to rain. he looked up curiously, not often rain fell so heavily in the city. it was quite unexpected, he didn't even know it was going to rain today, but the scribe did not exactly mind it. kaveh looked quite a bit flustered, which was quite amusing to him. "maybe it's karma, because you didn't clean our kitchen." a small smile played around his lips, not bothering to step out of the rain.

The gambler looks so natural behind the bar, mixing cocktails like it's his day job - then again, he looks natural doing most of anything Veritas has seen him do so far. Every gesture is smooth and eased, like his body simply knows what to do and he seems to go into any task with a confidence that most people will never gain in their entire lives. Of course there's a chance he has done this before; with a life like his Aventurine must find himself in all sorts of situations and preparing drinks hardly makes the list of strange deeds.

The cocktail that's placed in front of Veritas looks quite appealing. It's of a bright orange color with a syrupy layer of something dark red floating on top and bleeding into the orange blow. It's decorated with a stalk of mint and a slice of lemon and with the drops of condensate forming on the outside of the glass it promises to be refreshing. With some interest Ratio takes hold of the ridiculous curled loop straw and stirs, watching the two colors mingle.

"Before I consider trying this I'd like to know what went in it. With your luck I imagine it will taste decent enough but I won't risk you having found the one ingredient I'm allergic to."

"A plan?" Zhongli blinked owlishly, the thought having not occurred to him that perhaps this was a situation where mortals may indeed feel in need of such a thing. Though, when he'd stumbled upon this young man on his leisurely expedition into Sumeru he'd hardly given any consideration to the fact his own state of travel may be lacking by human standards. Not a single bag was in sight containing food or water on his person and he didn't recall grabbing his wallet either. All in all he must look like an inexperienced fool, but it was no concern to the old god.

"When one is far too preoccupied with details one may become blind to the grandeur of what lay in front of them. I simply set out for a stroll to see what I may encounter, no plan felt necessary at the time."

She couldn't help but shift away, when Lyney's picking and fussing pulled at the more sensitive part of her scalp around her ears. With a sigh, she closed her eyes. Curling one hand over the other in her lap with a squeeze, she prepared to hold steady at the next unintentional tug.

Better Lyney than anyone else to remove any debris caught in her hair and set it straight again; Lynette couldn't exactly see the back of her head, anyway.

"Something positive..." His life had been such a mess for decades now. So much fighting, death, destruction, losing so much, losing out on just being able to be a child... was there really anything remotely positive?
