TY! It was definitely a warm and fuzzy post! I see no reason we can't acknowledge the difficulties he'd have as a parent (both as someone with trauma and as something with super senses), because it makes all the time, love, and effort he'd put in that much more meaningful. And God knows he'd love that kid with everything in him.

And oooh, this is a fun question! So I will say they are going to eventually get a cat (I did a oneshot about it a while back and it did well, and since I'd kinda always wanted to bring a cat into TRT, we're going to roll with it with some adjustments). That's going to become TRT canon! Ciro always had cats so Jane has a nostalgia for them, and that cat will also be a vehicle to help process some of her trauma (I haven't delved heavily into it yet, but her vague mentions of cats being 'fellow subjects' while she was held by Cyrus James will tie into this). Likewise, I'm on team, Matt needs a cat. I believe it would be really helpful for his mental health to have this little animal who just adores him, all these happy little purrs and cuddles, and a reminder that Matt's allowed to nurture something good, he's not going to kill whatever or whoever he touches. Matt's got his own emotional hangups there, but he'll work through it like Jane does. And once they're in that boat, I see them as always having at least one cat around, if not two.

The one thing in this arena that I won't ever make official TRT canon about their future is whether they wind up with kid(s) or not. That's something I feel is incredibly personal and so I want to leave that open for people to decide themselves - do they have no kids? Just one? An entire football team? Your choice! I'll support it all as potential options, and in each of those? They're happy, whether that's the two them growing old and sitting in their red rocking chairs, having lived a long, happy life with their friends and cats and the Nelson clan who sees them as family, or as two parents to a herd of much loved kids and eventual parkour inclined grandkids.

That said, I did have the hilarious idea for a short What If oneshot involving them and their potential five-year-old daughter, who would be the bane of the principal's existence due to her penchant both for swearing and for questioning the justice of various school rules she does not agree with. But I'd mark that very clearly as a What If, and not as canon. It would just be a fun thing for me to explore because I think it would be hilarious.

I haven’t really had the motivation to do anything beyond WIPs and doodles recently, but I did want to post these particular, quick doodles anyway of me trying to get a rough idea of what I think a younger Peter may have looked like — one where he’s maybe seven or so and the other when he’s a preteen.

I’ve been very fixated on his statement in MAG 159 recently, and trying to break it down from a more unbiased (?) perspective. He’s both deeply aware of his family being neglectful and abusive, while also being dismissive of it when it comes to talking about himself. He seems to think the Lonely was perfect for him, when in reality he was made perfect for the Lonely.

It’s why I depict him being more miserable at a younger age, before he begins to accept it, as I don’t think he took to the isolation in as much stride as he claims. Though, I think he did interact with his siblings on occasion, moreso when he was younger, but they were forced apart more and more as the time passed. But, my headcanons for the Lukas siblings and their relationships and personalities are intensive and would take more than one short post to get into so!

Back to Peter: Isolation in childhood is especially damaging, but I don’t even think that’s the worst part? Children need a sense of stability, and that was completely striped away from the Lukas children, always changing rooms and caretakers, their parents unfamiliar faces. I think Peter was a quiet and reserved child as he says himself, and that he enjoyed time alone, hiding away, creating his own entertainment etc, but even that would have been incredibly damaging on his psyche.

I think he would have rationalised it a lot as a child to cope, listing all the reasons why this is good and necessary, why he liked it better this way, and that’s why he ended up being indoctrinated easier than his siblings, alongside the way his personality naturally drew him towards the Lonely.

I also think he got more and more uncomfortable with his siblings as he got older, not necessarily always out of his desire to spend more time Alone, but because they became unpredictable — emotional. The rooms changing, the tutors changing, that was all expected, predictable to an extent, but his sister crying because her pen pal was found out, and her letters burned, it ruined his own coping mechanisms and the idealised versions of his siblings in his head, the idea that they were like him, that they understood.

This is messy but I just really like thinking about the Lukas family and Peter. It’s easy to forget he was someone who Became an avatar as well, and that he didn’t start off that way, his own view of his youth tainted by his nature as an Avatar.

Oh Little Peter, we’re really in it now.

After Flash angrily storms out and Kong tries to defend him, Peter states exactly what kind of person Flash truly is:

Hahaha, well, it helps me vent too because honestly, I read some incredibly stupid arguments. The worst part is that, for example, in Snape's case, it's quite curious how fans of the Golden Trio—who he always treated like crap despite everything—tend to be much more lenient and understanding towards him, and maybe they don't like him, but the general opinion is more sympathetic. The problem lies with the Marauder fans who have taken those four characters and a bunch of random names throughout the saga that have literally zero relevance to the plot, turning them into OCs with canon surnames as a sort of sublimation of their fantasies of building a group of teenagers like Elite or Riverdale in a magical fanfic version. And to make everything fit, they have to use Severus as a punching bag because if they don’t, they have to admit that their beloved characters were a gang of abusers, bullies, and rich kids who took advantage of their status, which doesn't fit their narrative.

But anyway, as always, I’m advocating for the most bashed characters in fandoms—making hot takes about Severus reminds me of when I used to defend Sansa Stark, lol.
