Miners To Lobby Their Interests

The community of American miners has created a mining energy council. Tom Mapes, who previously worked at the Ministry of Energy, became the main lobbyist.

The main task of the council is to convince legislators that mining centers are not harmful to the environment, but an effective tool, the competent use of which can become one of the catalysts for transforming the energy sector to renewable sources.

Lado Okhotnikov believes that this is a completely logical step, against the backdrop of pressure from the authorities. For example, President D. Biden proposes to introduce a 30% tax on mining, and the Democratic wing in Congress makes environmental claims. Of course, a serious industry will fight for its interests by any legal means.

So far, this is the only lobbying group that will work only in one direction - promoting the interests of mining companies.

After his appointment, Mapes said that he began to consider mining data centers as a full part of the entire US energy system while working at the Department of Energy. For example, the facts of redemption of energy excess by miners became for Mapes at first a discovery, and then led to the belief in their usefulness.

Research Trends in Water Management by Using Environmental Parameters Derived from Remote Sensing

Abstract

Water management is one of the most important strategies for sustainability. In many regions, this management is not easy and remote sensing can be useful to have data about the water status, especially from environmental derived indices associated with satellite data. It is important to know the research trends based on water management and remote sensing. Policy decision making in water management could be assisted and improved considering this tool. The aim of this work is to explore remote sensing articles that use environmental indicators in the last twenty years for the study of water resources by using a bibliometric analysis.

ITC aims to meet 100 percent of energy needs from renewable sources by 2030

ITC Limited has set itself the target to meet 100% of purchased grid electricity requirements from renewable sources by 2030. In line with its philosophy of ‘Responsible Competitiveness’, the Company has adopted a low carbon growth strategy which encompasses a large renewable energy footprint. At present ITC meets over 40% of its electrical energy requirement through renewable sources like wind, solar and biomass. As a part of its Sustainability 2.0 Vision, ITC is planning to invest further in strengthening its renewable energy portfolio in order to contribute meaningfully to the fight against climate change. The company has already made significant investments in renewable energy assets (Wind and Solar projects combined). This will improve Renewable Energy share of company by additional 6% from current levels. The current renewables portfolio of ITC consists of 138 MW of wind power plants and 14 MW of Solar plants with ~53MW of additional solar capacity under execution. Projects are also underway in the area of other sources of renewable energy like solar boiler or biomass boilers. At present, ITC uses renewable energy across 20 factories, 9 hotels and 6 office buildings spanning states such as Telengana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Bihar, Haryana, West Bengal and Punjab.  Currently, the 46MW Wind power plant in Andhra Pradesh owned by ITC supplies power to over 15 ITC establishments in 8 states. i wanted to conduct some research into wales and it’s stand on climate change before my next visit in a couple of days. I wanted to go with more of an idea of places to visit and document, to inspire my project further

four years ago, welsh government passed the well-being of future generations act, which aims to promote sustainable development across the public sector in wales. it contained a renewable usage target of 70% by 2030. latest figures show this is still within reach, with 48% of wales’ energy consumption currently coming from renewable power. climate protests led by extinction rebellion, brought cardiff’s city centre to a standstill. in response, welsh government declared a climate emergency and welsh ministers took further steps to prompt government action, intro introducing several new initiatives to reduce wales’ carbon footprint and increase the number of community-led renewable schemes. they have committed to funding projects promoting and producing hydroelectric power

wales is committed to an 80% cut in carbon emissions by 2050. the 80% cut is measured against a 1990 baseline, and is the same overall target as that in place for the uk as a whole. however, that target might rise: the committee on climate change has proposed that the emissions reductions for wales should rise from 80% to 95%, as part of its thinking on a net zero carbon target for the whole uk. there are interim targets of a 27% reduction by 2020, a 45% reduction by 2030 and a 67% reduction by 2040. in england, the CCC proposes a net zero (100%) target by the same date, and in scotland

wales is a net exporter of electricity, meaning that as well as generating electricity for homes and businesses in wales, it also generates electricity which is distributed across great britain. wales generates over 7% of the uk’s renewable electricity, making an important contribution to the uk's low-carbon energy supply
