What's the RSS of a video podcast you watch? Mine tells me it supports video and it's very customizable otherwise.

this week in tech has been doing a video version since before video podcasts got trendy and long since every other one of them died in favor of youtube

unfortunately what i want is for people who have their own indie streamers or youtube channels to make video podcasts available instead, but the likelihood of anyone having the guts to do that is abysmally low

Adam Sessler leaving Rev3 Games - Rewind Thoughts Ep. 17

By now, G4 has returned, that includes XPlay with Adam Sessler.  In this rewind thoughts, I gave my thoughts of Adam Sessler leaving Rev3 Games to pursue new adventures in 2014.

The unfortunate part of this was when Adam joined Rev3 Games, they got a boost of subscribers, and then when he left, they were dropping to a point that Rev3 Games shutdown. Just want to make a point that Rev3 Games (and its main network, Revision 3) shutting down was due to conflicts with Discovery Network.

I’m watching these ancient photoshop tutorials from Bert Monroy. He is a digital painter that creates photoreal art. Like this!

Every pixel was created from scratch. He used some photo reference for the objects, but the scene is original and not derived from a pre-composed photograph. If you could zoom in to the original file, you could see the individual threads of the table cloth and each grain of pepper with full fidelity. 

He was one of my first Photoshop “teachers” and taught me most of what I know about the basic functions and tools. He’s the reason I’m any good at shopping things.

When doing his tutorials, he is the Bob Ross of Photoshop. He is this old school New York hippie with a ponytail and has a soothing voice that could put any kid to sleep. He says adorable things all the time, though he doesn’t have a “happy little tree” catchphrase. He should work on that. 

On his old Revision3 show called “PixelPerfect” he would always have to do an advertisement for GoDaddy.com. But the man is an artist through-and-through and has not one ounce of salesman in him. But, he tried his best. Sometimes he’d make dubious claims about their services because he wasn’t sure what they did. “They’ll even design a website for you!” Sometimes he messed up the link to their site, including an occasion where he called it “daddy.com”. Eventually they told him just to read a piece of paper with what to say, and he’d still paraphrase bits of it and when he got to the terms and conditions at the end he’d just go “yada-yada-yada... you know all that.”

Here he is standing in front of a one-to-one print of his gigantic Times Square painting. Again, every pixel created from scratch.

His website has a thing where you can actually zoom in to the painting and check out the insane detail. You’ll be like, “I can’t zoom in more, can I? HOLY SHIT, I CAN!”

The painting prints to 25 feet wide and has 700,000 photoshop layers. And he actually titles his layers and doesn’t just go with “Layer 658,950″ like I would. 

You can literally read which apps are on that old iPhone advertisement. 

This giant explanation of Bert Monroy was all done so I could tell you this...

He was just picking out a font and was like, “I think I’ll go with Helvetica “New-ee” (Spelled Helvetica Neue.)

I actually wasn’t sure how to pronounce it, but I was pretty sure it didn’t rhyme with Huey, Dewey, or Louie. But he said new-ee with such confidence I couldn’t help but smile at how cute it was. 

That’s all. That’s the entire point of this post.
